Well, it is finally Draft week here at the Star in Frisco. Well, everywhere but here too, Yeah, but here too. Absolutely, it's everywhere. You're right. Brian brought us, David Hellman, Kent Garrison, Executive
producing to day No. Dame Brugler. Dame Brugler's had a death in the family. Thoughts and prayers with him. He will be back with us on coverage on Thursday for the draft, So keep Dane and his family and your thoughts. He had to fly back to Ohio, So Kevin kat Turner from one oh five three the fan will sit in today as we do the our version of the two thousand and eighteen Cowboy Draft. This is something that we do every year, and uh, guys, we got to get to a lot of picks, so I'm gonna get
this thing started. You okay, By the way, I'm doing read Thanks for having me. Yeah, I'm always happy to be on standby. All right, I'm happy to have you. I'm ready to draft some players. Dy drafts some players, Dave Helm and your reader role. I'm I was born ready for this day. All right, let's get right to it. Then, as we do this, these are who the cowboys, who
we think the cowboys are gonna take. This is not this is not our pack, This is not this is not Katie and Dave and Brian going, oh I take Golden in the first, or I'll take the second, something like that. But these are who we think the cowboys would take, so we think they will do. So as we get started, we're gonna try and take this thing up and back if we can talk about some things. But as we get started, uh, like I say, it's it's all about what the cowboys are gonna do. So
with that being said, Cleveland Browns select Sam Darnold. The Giants will now take Josh Rosen. New York Jets have Baker Mayfield. The Cleveland Browns take Bradley Chubb. The Denver Broncos select Josh Allen, a quarterback from Wyoming. Are we not We're not factoring other team trades into this, Like, no, this is just we're gonna play it straight. We're not gonna worry about what Buffalo is. Yeah, we're not gonna.
We're not worried about Buffalo. We're just gonna we'll play this thing straight and see what happens if we want to go. Now, let me ask you this, it's this thing kind of going the way you thought it would with the quarterbacks to this point. Yes, yeah, I think so, and I do foresee h some trades happening, but no matter how it falls, I see four of the five guys going in the top ten. Surprise that it's like,
surprise Buffalo is not making one of those picks. But for the purposes of this, yeah, like none of those names really shocked me. Okay, Denver's a team at five. I think you definitely have to watch them back and out of the if that's the case. But we're gonna play it straight for right now. Uh any interesting going up from what you've seen so far? Are you still you're still interested in just hanging in there and making this pick at nineteen where it picks six. Yeah, yeah,
that's a little rich for my blood. You want to you want to Okay, let's go with Indianapolis Colts take a se Quon Barkley. That means the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take Durwin James Shaky from Florida State. Okay, there we go. We've our first guy, which we thought about. That's the guy. I mean, that's five to six spots
too soon for where you want to go. I mean, for all my James fans out there, I'm one of them, but what do you I mean you gotta give up everything to I'm just now finishing dinner and making my way into the war room to find out thats gone seven. So I'm not really ready to trade yet. Yeah that that that pick right there would have cost you a second, a third, and a four to get to get the Tampa Yeah, so think about that those picks. Okay, there
we go. Chicago Bears take Quentin Nelson reunited with his That's Notre Dame in the draft. That's according to me is San Francisco forty nine is going to hang in here. They're gonna take Denzel Wore the Corner from Ohio State. Okay, yeah, where I was still good. I think there's someone to watch on draft days. I think They're a team to watch on draft day as well. I really really do with John Lynch. Seems like he thinks he's smarter than everybody. Well,
the team we've talked about two is New England. Kat right, has that been a team that maybe may find a way to get up there just doing the math twenty three and thirty one the Patriots picks in the first round dead on perfect math to get up perfect math.
So if New England wants to give twenty three and thirty one to go to San Francisco, they can definitely get to that spot and probably draft the quarterback that they want when they think maybe San fran plays ball as a thank you for Jimmy g Yeah, K team was kind of thinking that too. We continue on the Oakland Raiders take Roquan Smith. Dolphins at eleven take Tremaine edmonds Man. So most of Cowboys Nations pet Cats are off the board all of a sudden. Now we're okay,
just to just to recap to get to ten. That would have cost you a two and a five to get to that point. It's a little more palatable, a little bit better there, a little more palatable. I can handle that. I still don't want to do that, but I could, But I could. That's more more of a discussion. You'll start you start playing with people's fours and fives
and they get all been out of shape. But we'll save that for when we're actually coming up on a decision here to Okay, that Miami, that was Miami to eleven Skein Edmonds, Buffalo Bills take Lamar Jackson. Is the big five quarterbacks? You're gone? So all five quarterbacks are gone. Okay, Now let's kind of reevaluate it. We interested. Is there anybody interesting to you to go to go up with? Now we pick thirteen, we're pick thirteen. I would be
the Washington Redskins. You could get my attention with Mica Fitzpatrick. Harold Landry, do anything for Harold Landry does a lot for Aaron Landry does something for me. Yeah, I forgot about him. Mink, I don't. I don't know. I'm not in love with Minka the way I am with Darwin James to the point where I want to trade up for him. But if he keeps falling, I'll keep I'll,
you know, keep listening. Yeah, And the problem with Harold Landry, if we're gonna move up for him, and you have to give up pick fifty or yeah, which if you want to go up, if you want to get to the thirteenth pick, you're gonna have to give up your three. You're four and you're five, then you're at okay. Yeah, So it's not that you don't You guys don't want to. I have a lot of other things that I have to address on this team. Okay, I want him, I want Harold Landry, but I think he's a top ten
player in this year. So we're okay, We're gonna okay. But sitting down here, we're good. Let's sit all right. See what happened? Redskins take Mika Fitzpatrick at thirteen. The Green Bay Packers now on the clock. Still sitting boys, right, Harold Landry goes to the Green Bay Packers at fourteen the Arizona Cardinals. Now Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. If you want to go to Arizona, that only will
cost you a third. Is there anybody left up there that you're You've lost James, You've lost Smith, You've lost Landry. You you're you're still sitting at your receivers are still sitting there at this point, Vita Vea is still sitting there were at point fifteen. I like the odds that one of those receivers is going to be there for you at nineteen, and I don't, you know whatever, whichever one's there, I'm I'm not trading up to get one
of them. And conversely, if my offensive lineman needs were there, I know that I have three guys that I like, and when Daniels and Hernandez and then also McGlinchey as well. Sure I feel good about that old I feel like, you know, and maybe they do this. Obviously we are sitting tight, but like Landry and Minko were the two dudes where it makes sense to really give up resources to get them right once those guys are gone, Like, I'm not trading, yeah, I'm not. Arizona takes Vita Vea,
so now you lost Vita Vea. At fifteen, we're still sitting here. The Baltimore Raven's interested in making a move with them, and they interested me. It's fourth or five, it's three more picks to go, just gonna sit. I'm not trying to give up resources to move up for whoever's left. Calvin Ridley goes to Baltimore Ravens at sixteen, and that's not surprising, nor is it disheartening, because there's another good receiver there who's still on the board. Okay.
At seventeen, it's the Los Angeles Chargers. We're sitting here. They take Mike McGlinchey from Notre Dame Seattle. Now on the clock. They definitely need offensive line help. We continue to sit. They take Isaiah win we Go, the guard from George. Okay, now the Cowboys are on the clock, and the list of available names should sound very familiar
to you by now. It should. It would mean Layton vander esh Davenport from San Antonio, Daniels from Iowa, Hernandez More the wide receiver from Maryland, Evans the linebacker from Alabama, and I threw in Brian the defensive tackle from Florida. Okay, nice little, nice little collection of probably not blueship players. But we gotta think of where they would go with this. I don't think they would do it. Can I throw Jron Pain in there as well? Pain would be a
good throw in? You're absolutely right there, that'd be good throw in. Okay, But to that point, I don't think they're drafting a d tackle in the first round, especially if if vita Vea is not there, right, maybe they do it for him, But I think vita Vea would be a I think that would be a choice if he was there. Yes, I don't. I don't have any reason to believe they're super interested in Marcus Davenport. Right.
And then now, okay, so now you're talking about linebackers, a couple offensive lineman, and a receiver, right, and it's I mean it's ice cream, right, Yeah, I mean we've talked about these receivers though at the depth, you know, we might think about again the second round of looking at that. I you know, you know how I feel about DJ Moore, but I'm not in love with the idea of drafting a receiver with this pick. I think
I'll never forget Jerry at the combine talking. You guys are on the bus with them, talking about how many wide receivers arew in this trip, yeah, and how it just might work out defense in the first round. It just might work out deep. Do you think that? Do you think their pick would be Vanderish? Yeah, I absolutely feel comfortable putting a lot of money on that. Okay, I agree, Layton Vanderish will be the selection for the
Dallas Cowboys at nineteen. We now move on. That was a little difficult right there, though there was some thinking about the receiver depth. I hope that they at least you know what I and I'm brought. We've both brought this up recently. I hope there's some conversation for James Daniels when it comes down to it, if he's there. Yeah, I do too. I hope you're right about that. Detroit Lyons take Davenport. He's now off the board at twenty.
The Bengals just took James Daniel at twenty one. James Daniels. Buffalo Bills at twenty two have taken Will Hernandez the guard from UTEP. Now the New England Patriots. We talked about them as a potential trade up though they a real kurball at everybody here at twenty three, and they take Colton Miller, the offensive tackle from UCLA. So Colton Miller with New England Patriot. Now I gotta go down a little way as to find him on your board? Yeah on my board, you do, Yeah, sure, Kat on
your board as well. Yeah, he'll go in the first round, and he's the guy who will be going. Why did he go in the first round? He go Josh Allen went in the top ten. So the Carolina Panthers at twenty four take Dj Moore, wide receiver from Maryland. If he doesn't, if he's not a cowboy, I hope that is what happens for him. I hope Dj margats to go play save in Week one. Yeah, that's true. Good point. Tennessee Titans take Maurice Hurst, the defensive tackle from Michigan.
How about that? Yeah, medical checks out. Well, I hope he's okay. Atlanta at twenty six Jarry Alexander, the cornerback from Louisville. Wow, that's a good pick right there. I like that one. The New Orleans Saints take Josh Jackson, corner from Iowa. And that one. Now the corners are going. Now the corners are starting in a run. This could be also Connor Williams right there, but Josh Jackson is to pick. I know the Saints worked him out with
situation tackle. Okay. Pittsburgh at twenty eight takes for Shaun Evans, linebacker from Alabama. That's Pittsburgh type of players. Gonna make one hundred and ten tackles a year for the next decade for them. Yep, I think you're absolutely right. Jacksonville
takes Connor Williams, offensive tackle from Texas. They they've spent some money in free agency and Andrew Noel went there, so they're trying to Maybe they're not done with that, So Connor Williams at thirty Tevin Bryan, the defensive tackle from Florida, goes Mike Zimmott. Mike zimmer likes those up the field type players. That's a good one for him. New England at thirty one. Here's a wild card. How about this one? Lorenzo Carter defensive in linebacker, Georgia. They
the Patriots don't care what anybody else's draft board looks like. Nope, they're gonna take guys. He's a multiple multidimensional player. Athletic, athletics. I can't say the word athletic. Yes, athleticism, criticism, Yeah, it's hard for me to roll off the tongue. But jeez, he's way down your board. Yeah, but he's a he would be kind of a splashy guy. Well, this will show up every once in a while, and then It's
like Wells gets he gets beat a lot. Well, this is what they're saying is he would be the Bill Belichick's new Jamie Collins. You got a sixth round grade on this guy. Yeah, I do. Wow, I'm not overly high on him. But the Patriots don't give a rats what I care. You know, he is a projection. I mean that is a high upside type of guy, but that is a full on projection. The Philadelphia Eagles in the first round, they will take Darius Guys running back.
Running back is the most pressing need for these guys, but guys is so much value at that point. And then with JAYAGII in his final season, this could be where I would go break my little heart. All right, here we go now to the second round of Chef. It go like you thought, or is it? I mean it's you's still kind of looking at names and thinking about what's going on. This isn't a I mean, I'm not criticizing you because this is a hard thing to do, but it almost it felt too It felt too logical
to me, like it's gonna be crazier than that. I feel like with with the different grades these teams have on quarterbacks in the way that that's going to shape everything, and you know the trading is going to trading that. Yeah, that felt a little too sane, but I mean that, like I said, we're in the second round, now you interesting going up? Yeah, that depends. In Dinneapolis, colts have two picks in the to start the second round. It
totally depends on who's getting drafted. Okay, they got thirty six and thirty six and thirty seven right there. If you if you're interested in and trying to move that up,
you're sitting at four hundred David at your spot. If you want thirty seven, that's uh, that would be you need one hundred and thirty points for that one to make that actually one hundred and forty points for thirty six and one hundred and thirty four of one hundred thirty four the fifth round picks, So so you need four hundred and then you're eighty one is worth one eighty five. And I was gonna say you're a little
bit of an overpay. Then you're if you your two fourths is an under pay because that sixteen is worth sixty two and one thirty seven is worth thirty eight. So it's one hundred points. I want to sit here and see if we could get a receiver to come to us. Yeah, let's see if we're at the very least, you know, try to wait because yeah not, I mean, I don't want to see the names coming off this board. Yea,
let's see. All right, we'll wait a little bit and fair, but just no folks that you know, you you you're sitting there with again, the team that might be interested to trade with you is the Colts because they've got thirty six and thirty seven back to back there. So let's see how this thing falls started. The second round, Cleveland Browns take Isaiah Oliver, cornerback from Colorado. Yes, take
players we don't need. The New York Giants take Billy Price, the guards center from Ohio State find by me, good player. The Cleveland Browns take Terrell Crosby, offensive tackle from Oregon. Beautiful oh Man, another good player. All right, here we go. Here's those Colts picks we're looking at, right, Yeah, well we're gonna let it ride. Colts take Mike Hughes, the cornerback from Central Florida. You like that pick, it's great value far again, Yeah, that's a first round player right absolutely,
and again not a guy the Cowboys needs exactly. All right, here we go the Colts at thirty seven. Now back to back Courtland Sutton. Ah, you know what that is? That's a pen throw. That's like, oh no, they took Courtland Sutton. Whatever will I do? I'm so upset? Okay, so let's re rehash that real quick. That's a player that we talked about right there. That's the thirty seventh pick of the draft. H That is a that's worth five hundred and thirty points. The Cowboys sitting at their
current spot. So what what I mean? All right, let's say that that's what they do. You're probably gonna have to overpay to get that pick. That sucks. I don't want to. Well, because you get if you give, if you give your if you if you give your two and your three to go, you're you're overpaying. Now you could get him, maybe flip you something back there to make him to different a fourth back. Yeah, but I guess you could do. Yeah. I always forget about that.
What Indy gives you one of their fourth so Andy would probably give you Indy's fourth round let's see eighty. Yeah, Well, it's four, it's one oh four. It's one oh four. That one makes four would make it up. That would be eighty six points back to you. So you give up fifty, okay, and eighty one to get up to thirty seven. Yeah, and you get thirty seven and one oh four. I think I would either have fifty and eighty one. I would too, especially like I'm not in
love with Courtland Sutton as a player. Maybe one we kind of feeling like that's kind of the line of guys that could step in and really kind of thinking, I'm kind of thinking that Safety from Southern miss would be my guy. But do you all right again, we're talking with you know, we're saying I and we what do you think about them them? Do you think they would do that? Well? If you talked about that he
was a thirty he was the trade. Yeah. No, I'm saying, do you think they like Courtland Sutton enough that they would do that? Especially? I mean, I think it's a possibility. I'm looking, I'm looking at your board. There's still three four guys on it that makes sense for that range. I think that's the guy I think over more than Anthony Miller or Michael Gallup. Or something. Chris, if you sit there, you're probably looking at Anthony Miller's what you're
looking at. I'm okay with that. I just don't know if they would be. I think they value the X. I think they value that exposition right there, and someone who can step in for Dez and DJ Chark do that. Talking about an inconsistent, big physical guy, I mean, just get one at fifty instead of not that he falls that far. I know now there's a lot of decisions have been made because of personalities and things like that, But I'm like, for a DJ Chark, why don't we
just keep Bryce Butler. Yeah, And it's the same type of guy, the same thing. And I know we're also operating right now under the assumption that we have picked fifty right right now, because that could be going to Seattle exactly. All right, Well, we stayed where we stay, and I'm fine with that. Stayed, We're good. Tampa Bay at thirty eight takes Ronald Jones, all right? Good? Uh, Camiko Camiko Terrey. If it's Vann linebacker from Rutgers goes
to Bears at thirty nine, I like that player. The Broncos at forty take Carlton Davis, the cornerback from Auburn. Dron Payne now goes to the Oakland Raiders. At forty one, the Miami Dolphins select, Boy, this, this is a good pick. I think they select tight end Hayden Hurst from South Carolina. What are the odds at the first tight end off the board falls that far? It's I don't know it just I kind of had a feeling that he I
thought he was more of a top of the second guy. Yeah, but this looks like he's clearly in the middle of the board. So yeah, I think it's a press press on. Here we go. Justin Reid goes to the Patriots. Again. They don't care what we think. They'll take whoever they want. So forty three the Newhand Patriots. So the Patriots top two picks on your board are a sixth round grade in a fourth round grade. Again, they don't care, they don't care what I think, and they'll win a super Bowl.
The Washington Redskins around the clock. At forty four. Harrison Phillips goes from Stamford to the Washington Redskins puts a yeah, like him as a player, is there anywhere? All right? We're so now we're a pick forty five? Is there forty five? You interested in moving a little bit? Is there a pick that makes sense? And you only got to make up fifty points? So I mean you could, I mean you would try and get to what we should We have tried to get to what, but we
would give them pick one sixteen. I was gonna say one sixteen would be a little bit of an overpay, but not enough that I'm freaking out about it. How about how about this? Like you said, if you you're trying to get to Green Bay, I'm just throwing it out there. I'm just saying, or do you want to sit Well, what am I going up for? That's at this point for Shark a receiver, Yeah, whichever receiver and on the list of receivers, well, they've they've had a
lot of contact with Washington too. Yeah, I mean Washington and Chark are the ones that stand out to me as potential Cowboys targets. Right, is that worth trading up five spots for? Or are you just sitting there thinking we only got him? Wait five spots. We'll see what we talked about earlier. There's two guys that you're kind of highlighting right there, there's five picks and that's just that's just a one position too. I mean, what else?
What else do we really feel good about? Ronnie Harrison's still available? He still is. Um, let's see. I love Golden from Tennessee, but I don't think they do. That's again, I think I think you have to think about thirty visit guys, and that's what that's what I'm looking for. Yeah, um, your safety's there. It's a little early for him probably, Yeah. Um, I mean, god, it's there too, tight end kind of throwing you a curveball there with what's all there for you? There?
Just sit Okay, that's see what happens. Yeah, Packers at forty five take Chark DJ Chart Now for now. The Bengals on the clock. At forty six, they take Ronnie Harrison. Well pack me off safety from Alabama forty seven Mason Rudolph. Yeah, do that quarterback Oklahoma State. Have fun. Okay, here we go. We're still sitting here. The Los Angeles Chargers take Jesse Bates safety. Wait, Forest, that guy's what I like who should be in the mix. Doesn't seem like a guy
that they are especially interested in. I know, y'all love him. Yeah, well the Chargers are They took him at forty eight to forty eight. Here come the Colts again, one pick ahead of you. You're sitting. The Colts take Sam Hubbard, defensive end Ohio State. I can live with that, all right. So now you're in your situation. You've got you've got wide receivers in play. You've lost Sutton in this round
at thirty seven, you lost Chart at forty five. You got guys like Miller, Kirk, Gallop, James Washington is a post? Is that two rim names? Watched the thrill? This this worked out all the plan. I got the guys who we would take at fifty Okay, now what they would do? I was about I'm about im, That's what I'm saying. I'm like, okay, you're thrilled. How would they feel? Um? They brought in Christian Kirk for a workout as well, Right, honestly, I'm well they they didn't bring him in, but they
well they worked him out. Yeah, which you know a defensive tackle here are you just wanna you want to just which one are you looking at? Uh sonat I think that's probably a little rich for him, right, Well, that's Nathan Shepherd. Nathan Sheppard, Yeah, that's if you're not. I'm I'm do you have your board over there? I can pull it up in front of me, don't. I don't love what I'm looking at anywhere other than wide receiver. Okays, and objectively, you got to be thrilled if Dallas Goddard
and Mike Kiseki are both there. Sure, but I hate that for this team. Right So, I'm at a loss for what you would even want to draft other than a receiver right now. I don't know, Katie, what do you think? Uh? It would be Shepherd, that would be the other. That would be the other thing. But I think it would be let's go ahead and get a wide receiver in here. And I think, man, that's tough. Now. I would take Miller. I think we would all take Miller. Do they like Miller? Do we have any reason to
believe that they like Miller? Well, he didn't get to work out until very recently he ran a four or five. We can go ahead and give Miller, we can do it. Yeah, let's give him. Miller is not a thirty visit. Washington was right, Yeah, which I mean, it's we're gonna get a guy who doesn't run a full route tree and hey, you don't have to. I'm not. Let's give a Miller here, let's do it. Let's Anthony Miller is the pick at that spot right there, there's your z right there. Yeah,
there's a guy that can make some things happen right there. Okay, I can live with that. There we go from Memphis. Yeah, by the way, he ran four five oh when he got to run Okay, but good picking, guys say it good. It's the same thing we said in the first round, though, is I mean, I think I think Sutton is really the guy to watch. But even DJ Chark, like, if you want to make sure you get you're gonna have to go up. Pick it a letter, You're probably gonna
have to go up. Fifty one is Detroit Lions Sony Michelle. The Baltimore Ravens take Dallas Goddard okay from South Dakota State. The Buffalo Bills fifty three. Josh Sweat if it's ben linebacker from Florida State, can't city fifty four Dante Jackson, the cornerback from LSU Carolina Panthers selected fifty five or Shot Penny the Buffalo Bills take Christian Kirk wide receiver Texas A and M, and then the Tennessee Tids the fifty seven okawon ru Obo oak Rowanquo goes to the
Tennessee Titans. Atlanta takes Nathan Shepherd, defensive tackle from Fort Hayes State. The forty nine Ers at fifty nine take Quininius inquius him, I know exactly, Saint Brown, the wide receiver from Notre Dame, who took him? The San Francisco forty nine Ers, man, why does it seem like you always love other teams picks more than your own? You know? Yeah, exactly,
that dude's gonna do some work with Garoppolo exactly. Pittsburgh Steelers at sixty take Rashine Green, defensive lineman from USC Jacksonville sixty one and takes Mike just Sicky tight end Penn States. The Minnesota Vikings take Frank Ragnow, the guards center from Arkansas. The New England Patriots, again not caring what I think about or anybody thinks about, takes Kyle Loletta quarterback Richmond Good pick if I would have been considering him at fifty him and who exactly? That's what
we call a stupid pick. That's a stupid pick. All right, and here we go the Cleveland Browns to end the round. Take Nick Chubb running back from a Georgia. I mean, I know this isn't the Browns Draft Show, but like, don't don't draft sae Quon Barkley in the top five when you could get Darius Guy Sir Ronald Jones at thirty three or Nick Chubb at whatever he was just picked, Like, that's no, that's get get the other Chubb. Get Bradley Chubb,
Get Bradley Chubb. Yeah, anyway, all right, so we're gonna take our first break, this would be the only break of the day, and then we come back. We're gonna dive into the third round. So stay tune. Houston, Texans, one pick ahead of the Cowboys take safety Terrill Edmonds from Virginia Tech. Cowboys now in the clock. All right, okay, so let's start with the safeties, right, Yep. There's Golden from Tennessee. You've got Trevarious More from Southern miss You've
got Trey Walker as well. Those are all guys in the mix. A guy that you really liked in Edmonds just went off the board. Right, So I think if you go on the thirty visit, if they're looking for a safety, if they don't make the Earl Thomas Trade. I think Trevarious More would be their guy. It's a thirty visit guy. He's more of a free safety type of a player. I mean, I would we already get our linebacker. I would be pounding the table for Shatt
Griffin and claiming that he can play all three defensive positions. Yeah, safety, linebacker, and defensive line. But to be realistic, no, not going after him in the top one. Can I throw out Cole Madison from Washington State? Yeah, I think you could probably get him a little bit later. So yeah, but and then other than I mean, there's some good value
at d tackle. But Sagan follow the thirty visits. I thought the thirty visits, I'd go with all right to Various More, say from Southern miss Is taking at eighty one, Okay, here we go. Detroit Lions take Austin Corbett, the guard center from Nevada. Mike White, one of my favorite quarterbacks, goes the Ravens at eighty three. Chargers will take Fred Warner. Colboys had a interest in Fred Warner, the linebacker from b YU. Carolina At eighty five takes Anthony Avert the
corner from Alabama. We have and Here we go kt kan See Chiefs at eighty six, Shaqim Griffin. They would take a good player, they would take him. Bat like that organization to take a good take a good player on that one. You like that one? Oh yeah, man, I wish he was there. Force in the fourth, here we go at Rams at eighty seven, will take Jerome Baker, the linebacker from Ohio State. Carolina Panthers eighty eight Ian
Thomas and tight end everybody. Dane seems to believe that Ian Thomas would be a guy that three four years from now, we're gonna look and he might be the best tight end in the drafts. Carolina gets him at eighty eight. Tennessee Titans take Martinis rankin Mark Martinis rankin guard tackle from Mississippi State, and Atlanta at ninety Mark Andrews tight end Oklahoma. The New Orleans Saints at ninety one, take DeShawn Hand from Alabama. Here's where James Washington goes
ninety two to the Pittsburgh Steelers. So there's just two any wide receivers. James Washington, we're talking about guys who are thinking, I mean, hindsight's twenty twenty. But if you know in your if you knew that Washington would be there at eighty one, would you have still felt comfortable drafting Miller? Maybe you try to get somebody else, Like I mean, you're talking about the depth of this, and I do. I mean, if the board fell the right way,
I think that they would do that. Nathan Sheppard and James Washington. Yeah, Miller and Moore, I think I think you're right. And maybe it's not that scenario, but if a guy that they really like is there at fifty, yeah, I think maybe they'd even feel comfortable thinking they can add to the receiver group at eighty one. There you go. Uh the Jacksonville Jaguars at ninety three, Duke Dawson corner from good Player, Minnesota Vikings. Uh Naheem Hines, those are
running back at three ninety four. I was, oh, I meant to bring that up. That was I mean, if that was a consideration, if you wanted if you wanted him, you probably got to take him in eight eighty one. Yeah, we should have mentioned him there doing a Patriots at ninety five. Take DeShawn Hamilton, wide receiver from Penn State, Buffalo. Here we go, Rashawn Golden Buffalo Bills ninety six, three ninety six. You're gonna get the jersey I am gonna
buy from Shawn Golden corner safety from Tennessee. He goes to Buffalo Bills. The the Arizona Cardinals at nine seven, take Okaffer, the offensive tackle from Western Michigan. Houston Texans take Jalen Samuels, the running back tight end from North Carolina State. Kind of an h BAC, kind of a guy like him as as a player, though. Here's the Denver Broncos Dante Pettis, wide receiver from Washington. He will go at ninety nine. The Cincinnati Bengals to in the round.
They go with dedren sonat defensive tack right south South. Bengals always drafting, could play second round grade on your board. I'll tell you what, though, I'm surprised he lasted all the way to one hundred. Reminds me of Carl Lawson a little bit. They took him too, We had first round grades on him. Remember that gate. The Bengals take good players late in the draft. Go work for the Bengals. That go work for the Bengals. All right, let's skate onto the fourth round. Here we go, you know, are
we interested it? We just kind of we're sitting here, right, We're just gonna make picks at this point, we're just hanging and kind of taking the first three picks of been there three biggest needs. Yea, So maybe try something a little different here then. Huh. But I'm just thinking, like, what are you what are you so desperate for that you're trying to trade up? No, I was just I was just saying, because you got two picks in this round, You've got picked one sixteen and pick one thirty seven.
Katie mentioned offensive lineman. We also talked about some defensive lineman. That is true on that board. So you want to just sit and see what we get on those two. Uh, maybe sit for a little bit. Okay, let's sit I sure, you know, Uh, going back to what Katy said earlier, Sure, would like to maybe get a guard to come in here, and all right, we'll see who's the guard you have mine? Would they visit Madison? Right? So that's kind of that's
our target. We think we could get him at Do we think we could get him at one sixteen or get him at one thirty seven? I mean, if I think he can come in and start right away. Then I need to make a move. If I think he's I think he's better than Marcus Martin. Yeah, you know, then I think we need to make a move. But with those two picks, again, we've covered all covered up our needs. Let's just sit and go. Yeah, let's sit and pick here. Kind of a boring mock draft so
far from Dallas, guy, it's still boring. Yeah, okay, go ahead, go let's I mean, Cole Maddison doesn't really makes it make you that much more sexy. No, I just mean in terms of, you know, you want to make a trade. Well, but see the thing about it is you didn't want to make a trade when we had a chance to go to Indianapolis. Well, that would have made this draft a lot of fun. You're right. You sat there and said, let's sit down here. So I'm just listening to what's
going on. Read me some picks, let's say. So, if you want to be critical of the draft, I'm not being I did the right thing though, because I got a better player in Anthony Miller at fifty than Courtland Sutton. Yeah, very well. Could that all right? Maybe that's not a popular opinion, but Packer's at one oh one. Tape opinion Jackson our guy, linebacker from Wisconsin. Buccaneers at one o two, Isaac yet Him, Oh yeah, the cornerback, the quarterback from
Boston College, Houston, Texas, and window three Holton Hill cornerback. Here. Here's some cornerbacks are starting to go off the board and all our sport. Holton Hill, a cornerback from Texas, goes at one oh three, The Colts at one oh four. Gary On Christian, the offensive tackle from Louisville. Chicago Bears at one oh five. Take fully fu Acasi. There's like one of our defensive tackles. Connecticut Broncos at one oh six. Dane Crushenk, the safety from Arizona. We kind of liked
him a little bit, didn't we? K two kind of liked him. New York chet said one oh seven. Take Dalton Schultz, the tied end from Stanford. New York Giants select Mark Walton, running back from Miami, Florida. That yeah, here's one of Dane's guys. At one oh nine. Washington Redskins select Darius Fountain, the wide receiver from Northern Iowa. Kind of liked him a lot. I like the way he was. He makes some plays in the in the field for you. Oh wait, here we go. The first
punter is off the board. It's gotta be the Raiders at one ten, take Michael Dixon putter from Texas. That's pretty good right there. How about that? The Rams at one oh one, take Brandon Parker, the offensive tackle from North Carolina A and T. The Bengals come back with another skilled guy since A takes Daniel Carlson, the the kicker from Auburn. What are we doing in the fourth round. We're just having Cincinnati will always take a special teams
guy in the fourth round. Have fun. Whatever. That's that's what a weird way to build an organization. What a weird way is taking kickers? Yeah, Denver Broncos take Gerald Avery, the linebacker from Memphis player the we're getting close down here to the Cowboys. Actually, Cleveland Browns at one fourteen, take Trey Kwon Smith. The Bears take Michael Stewart corner from North Carolina State, and now you're at the Dallas
Cowboys at one sixteen. All right, so my guy in my left guard there, Cole Madison there on the board. You know I've got Breland Speed from Mississippi State there as well. That was another one that was a thirty visit guy, uh three technique technique over the defensive? Which do you think you have a chance to get first speaks? I think, I think, I think you need to get Speaks. I think Madison's I think Madison stays in there. I think let's hang on Madison. Let's take Speaks now, Okay,
let's take is everybody else you like? I don't want to disappoint you. Are we No? No? No. I guess my question would be what do I need more? Or left guard or a three technique? That's kind of what I was thinking too, which you can make a case for either one. But a left guard, if he's good, has a chance to start. I don't have much of a contingency plan if I don't get Madison. That's Katie's reading my mind here, That's really my only I don't have a problem with drafting Speaks. But do you think
Speaks will make it to one thirty seven? No? Maybe not. I don't we got to make a call here. Who's a better player? I think speaks Speak is a better player. Yeah. I believe the Cowboys would think that too. All right, draft him then, all right, speaks as long as we acknowledge yeah, it's not always about the best player. That's the biggest myth in the draft. Oh, I'll acknowledge it.
But but I'm again, I'm so frustrated by the offensive line situation here because they're just kind of like, oh, we might move Lyle, we might not, and we're not like we're not going to know how they feel about that until they go through this draft, Like, yeah, we we could be sitting here thinking that they need a guard and they're like, no, we don't. We're gonna move Lyle. Here we go, all right, we took Speaks one seventeen Naughty to the Lions. Ravens take Jeff Holland, linebacker from
defensive end from the from Auburn. Andrew Brown, defensive lineman, goes the Chargers at one nineteen. Seattle at one twenty takes Dion Kane, wide receiver from Clemson. The Buffalo Bills select Andre Smith, linebacker from North Carolina State or North Carolina. Kansas City takes Dorian Drance Armstrong. The Miami Dolphins take Tim Settle at one twenty three. Kancy Chiefs take Jeron Moore wide receiver from Missouri. The Tennessee Titans select Micah Kaiser,
the linebacker from Virginia good player. The Atlanta Falcons at one twenty six, take Kiki Kuti wide receiver from Texas Tech. The New Orleans Saints take Chris Herndon the tight end from Miami. The San Francisco forty nine Ers take Wyatt Teller, guard from Virginia Tech. Jacksonville Jaguars take Christian Sam Philadelphia Eagles take J. K. Scott, the punter from Alabama. Miami our guys still there by the way, boy yeah. Miami
Dolphins take Luke Falk, quarterback Washington State. The Philadelphiagles take Taekwon Lewis at one thirty two. The Buffalo Bill the Green Bay Pass at one thirty three, take Will Richardson, the tackle from North Carolina State. At one thirty four, the Arizona Cardinals take Royce Freeman, they're running back from Oregon. At one thirty five, the Los Angeles Rams select Hercules Mataafaafa, the defensive end tackle from Washington State. There the Rams
are ahead of the Cowboys here. At one thirty six, they take John Kelly, the running back pet. Oh how about there you go. I like that pick for them. So you guys, you guys took it. You took a gamble. You took a gamble and you and you said, okay, well we'll wait this one out and see if you like anybody else besides Cole Madison there. But will you gambling for him? Well, now you're talking. If you want
Edo Smith, you might have to draft him here. I don't know what their next pick isn't until one seventy one. That's a long wait. We're also doing bad things if we're taking running back without our offensive line set, trying to just trying to present all the option at least let Cole Madison and Marcus Martin figure out who left trying to present all the options. So you want to like these options though? I mean, I okay, So Edo Smith is there, Cole Madison's there, Um yeah, a lot
of not a lot else. I mean Kaiser Whites around. But you dafted a safety and safety already right Uh yeah, I'm I mean, I don't think this is super tough. You like Smith or Disley or Fumagaly, not not as much as I like adding a guard to the mix. Okay, so Cole Madison's a pick at four one thirty seven. Good job, boys would have talked that one out. That's good.
We go to the fifth round. Now, Green Bay Packers take Tracy Walker, he was a thirty visit from UH From l L the Giants take Jordan Whitehead, the safety from Pittsburgh or pick one forty The Colts take Kenny Young, linebacker from UCLA. Seattle Seahawks on the clock poona Ford and one forty one goes to the Seattle Seahawks watching Redskins. One forty two take Leon Jacobs, the linebacker from Wisconsin.
Good player. Godda love that guy. That's a great man, and we have to play against him twice a year. Who drafted him? The Washington Redskins stuff pick one forty three. The San Francisco forty Nineers took de Sean Elliott, the safety from Texas that's going to replace Reid obviously there Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Jalen Holmes, defensive lineman from Ohio State Chicago Bears at one forty five. Here you go Dave Kaiser, white safety from Royce, Virginia. Seattle at one
forty six. The Bears drafted him. The Bears drafted Kaiser White rated little brother. Yeah, there you go ahead. The Seattle Seahawks take Christian Campbell, a cornerback from Penn State. Six five four four to five guy the New Orleans States at one forty five. Take Marcel Eightman wide receiver Oklahoma State. Pittsburgh at one forty eight Trevarius McFadden cornerback from Florida State. That's a size guy for them. Six two two four dever Broncos take a tight end, Tyler
Conkland tight end from Central Michigan. Cleveland Browns at one fifty take PJ Hall, defensive tackle from sam Houston State. Since any beingals that wasna be. Cleveland Browns at one fifty took PJ. Hall. Cincinnati at one fifty one takes DJ Read cornerback from Kansas State. Arizona Cardinals take Levi Wallace, the cornerback from Alabama. Detroit Lions will take at their spot at one fifty three, Marcus Allen, the safety from
Penn State. Faller than farther than I would have thought. Yeah, I thought maybe I thought that was a was a pretty fall fall for him. Yeah. The Seattle Seahawks take Dorian O'Daniel linebacker from Clemson at one fifty one. The Jets at one fifty seven take Pari Nickerson, cornerback
from from Tulane. The Bengals at one fifty eight take Antonio Callaway. That's my Bengals, I know absolutely chance, do not care. You take him, You take him. The Raiders take Nick Nelson from the from Wisconsin. He has got a knee injury that he is having to deal with right now. He's a really good player. Broncos at one sixty take Jamale Denby, guard from Maine. Carolina Panthers at one sixty one Ada Aruna the defensive end from Tulane.
That's the Carolina Panthers at one sixty one. The Tennessee Titans at one sixty two take Arden Tate wide receiver from Florida State. The Washington Redskins Kaylin Ballage, the running back from Arizona State. Redskins. They having a pretty good draft so far. Here the New Orleans Saints at one sixty four take Colby Gassette or gossip excuse me from guard from Appalachian State. Pittsburgh takes Marcus Haines, the defensive end linebacker from Old Miss. At pick one sixty six,
Scott Quisenberry kat goes to the Buffalo Bills. Minnesota Vikings table will take an offensive lineman here with Alex Kappa from Humboldt State. At one sixty seven, the Seattle Seahawks take Dylan Contrell, the wide receiver from Texas Tech. Big guy. They like those big type guys like that. Philadelphi Eagles. Jester Way, the wide receiver from Pittsburgh, goes to Philadelphia at one sixty nine. Cincinnati ahead of the Cowboys here
at one seventy bo Scarborough running back Alabama. Oh, you are now on the clock at one at at at this at this spot at five one seventy one. You want some more offensive line competition. We got some questions about Desmond Harrison. Didn't we at West Georgia at this point? I wonder which, no, you're absolutely right, is their room for him? On which I mean, you're at the point oh you're still I mean, I would rather not cut this guy, but I mean that offensive line room looks
crowded when you add a thirty visit guy too. Yeah, transfer University of Texas. Who else is on the board, and there's another thirty visit guy there who definitely has a spot in the room if you want to draft him by the name of Edo Smith over Wadley. Well, I know Wadley's still there. Edo was a visit, was a visit. Let's go for it this. Do you know you want to Edo Smith five seventy one? Yeah, okay?
Edo Smith goes to five one seventy one. Edo Smith, running back, Southern miss So we've got Layton Vanderesh, Anthony Miller, Various More Breeland speaks, Cole Madison, and Edo Smith. Yeah. I love this draft, honestly. Yeah. Doing We're doing well, doing well. Okay, here we go the so Edo Smith is the pick for the Cowboys at one seventy one. Packers one seventy two. Take Mason Cole, the guard center from Michigan Raiders. Take Aldan Lazard, the wide receiver from
Iowa State. The Packers back at one seventy four, take Trent Thompson, the tackle from Georgia. Kind of a thrash around guy. Yeah, Okay, now we're into the sixth round. Okay, the Cowboys have six selections here in the sixth round three I think you mean, oh, I say six three? Excuse me? In the sixth round. Three selections at one ninety two, one ninety three, and two oh eight back to back. Let's look for some traits here, boys. Okay, here we go. Orion Burkes goes to the goes to
the Cleveland Browns. Corey Robertson, the wide receiver for the Los Angeles goes to Los Angeles Rams. Houston, Texas at one seventy one. Take Chad Thomas, the defensive lineman from Miami. The Inneapolis Colts at one seventy eight, take Bailey Nichols, the defensive tackle from Delaware. The New York Jets take Timan Paris, the guard tackle from Stoney Burke Tampa Bay will take Sean Welsh, the guard center from Iowa. The Chago Bears take Jalen Jalie excuse me, Jaalie Scott. Jalie Scott,
the wide receiver from New Mexico State. Jalil Guy miss I'm sorry, I pronounced that wrong. Jalil Scott, the wide receiver from New Mexico State at one eighty one. Six foot eight guy. Yeah, Arizona at one eighty two, take Avont Maddox. Avont Maddox the cornerback for Pitt. Then the let's see here. The Los Angeles Rams take center from Alabama Bradley Bozeman. At one forty nine Ers take r
J Mackintosh. Defensive tasks kind a fall for him. Say he's still hanging out, Yeah, he still was hanging around. He was defensive tackle. RJ. Mackintosh goes to the to the U, who'd I say? They're San Francisco forty nine ers. Damian Webb, Damon Webb. Excuse me, Damon Webb safety Ohio State goes to the Raiders at one eighty five. The Green Bay Packers on the clock at one eighty six to take Tony Brown, a cornerback from Alabama. Kind of like him, a lot of talent. Yeah, he's a good player.
Buffalo Bills at one seven. Take Darius Phillips, the cornerback from Western Michigan. Cleveland Browns at one eighty eight, take Chervaris Ward cornerback from Middle Tennessee. So weird to see all these corners go off the board. It's all traits, it's all about trades now. At one eighty nine, New Orleans Saints take Kylie Fits, the defensive in from Utah Baltimore Ravens. At one ninety take Oh my gosh, it's a name in in Quibi we Joel Inquibikway, linebacker from
Western Kentucky. Kind of helping you did the best you could. I did the best I could. There. He's a linebacker from Western Kentucky. At one one, the Chargers take Kurt Ben Kurt from the University Virginia quarterback. Cowboys are on the clock now. Two picks in a row, two picks in a row, back to back. So hit these picks back to back if you would out. You've got to seeing some value at tight end. Okay, which is you still got? Did we did? We still? Said Desmond Harrison.
Though Harrison still on the board, Right, should we hit him? Should we go ahead and hit him with the first one? Or yeah, hit him all right, We'll hit Desmond Harrison At one ninety two A thirty visit guy, Desmond Harrison, tackle from West Georgia. He will be uh, he will be our pick at one nighty two and Dave, who do you got it? Ninety three? I mean, I'm just I'm like I said, you see, I mean Smythe from Notre Dame. The tight end is still sitting here. Huh.
It's probably a lot further than you thought he'd fall, right, Troy Fumagoalley, if you want to pass Catcher, you can't do that? I mean, or do you all agree with me? There? You? Yeah? No, I don't disagree. Who do you got ka? You mean? I mean, if you wanted to get get real with it, say I might need another linebacker. I'm I'm open to looking at that. Nothing really excites me to Gray Scales,
maybe terribly exciting. I like the idea of Durham Smythe, Disley or Fumagalley a tied end, especially what we just learned with James Hannah. Yeah, I think it might be time to work on some tight end depth. And you love Will Disley as a blocker, right right? Is it fair for me to characterize as Smythe as the best blend of both abilities? I think that smys a little bit less with a blocker but he's more of a
downfield That's what I'm saying. He's he's a he can, but he's not a terrible blocker, right right right, So that that's kind of where I'm leaning. But I mean, I'll you tell me you're the scout. Who do I have on my board? Higher? There? I mean you've got smythe the whole round higher. Yeah, let's go with Smythe there does Uh, let's do it. Yeah, I'm okay. So it's uh first name is Durham, Durham. I was a Durham.
Just noted the domer, guy Durham. Smythe is the I can live with that tied in from Notre Dame self. Some competition were selected there. Okay, now five two fifty, let's get a little player. Okay, we're rolling our way through this draft right now. Uh, Matt Prior goes at one nine. Our next pick will be at two o eight, so we gotta get ready for that. One next pick will be at two o eight. Uh, here we go. The Rams one ninety four take Matt Prior, offensive tackle
from TCU. The Rams take uh con Vinius Street from defensive lineman from North Carolina State. Scott what's that can take Kentavious Us straight hurt himself? Yeah, exactly, Uh, Kansas City at one ninety six Skyler Phillips the guard from Idaho State. Carolina Panthers take Tony Adams from guard from North Carolina State. The New England Patriots take J. C. Jackson, cornerback from Maryland. Pick ninety nine. Darryl Williams goes to the LSU running back goes to the Tennessee Titans get
after a young man. The Falcons Acram Wadley. That's my that's that's that. That hurt me right there because he is a really really really good player. Could have taken him, could have taken him. New Orleans Saints take Frank Jenda, who is a linebacker from San Jose State. The Buccaneers at two o two take Trey Quinn and now the Jacksonville Jaguars at two oh three take Justin Jones, defensive tackle from North Carolina State. They're wrong with him. Quinn
Blanding goes to Minnesota. At two oh four. Grant Haley, the quarterback from Penn State, goes to Washington Redskins. At two o five, Tremaine Smith goes to Tremaine Tremaine Smith. Excuse me? A quarterback from Central Arkansas goes to Philly at two o six. The Green Bay Packers take at two o seven, they take Dion Yelder, tight end from Western Kentucky. That puts the Cowboys on the board at two o eight. Anybody particularly like Um I love I
love Kat's attitude about doubling up a linebacker. But do you see a guy that you really love now? Besides, I mean, I like Scales, um skymore. Maybe yeah, South Carolina. I think we all agree that we do need depth at the
