The following is a production of the Dallas Cowboys Media Group and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club DAS. Welcome to Dallas Cowboys dot COM's live Bumper to bumper coverage of the NFL Draft with David Hellman, Dane Brugler, Cowboys coaches, draft picks, and special guests. Now, your host Brian brought Iran brods Well. It is night two of the twenty nineteen NFL Draft and we are very pleased to be back with you from the s WBC Mortgage Studios. It's

Brian brought us, Dane Burglar, David Hellman. We're gonna kick this thing off in about the NFL Draft here will come to us in about twelve minutes or so. We will be in Nashville, Tennessee. As always, our coverage of the two NFL Draft is brought to you by Miller Lte. Miller Lte is the only beer of the Dallas Cowboys, Dame Brulen, When you went home last night to enjoy a Miller Lte, you kind of thought, Okay, well, today your Dallas Cowboys get to be involved with the draft.

Pick to be involved with some draft. There's all some other teams that get to be involved with the draft as well. The Los Angeles Rams didn't have a pick yesterday. The New Orleans Saints, and the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, a lot of teams. So now a lot of teams back in the mix.

We appreciate everybody hanging out with us tonight. When um, when you sat down and looked at and always we always talk about best available, Okay, but now here are teams that all these teams that we kind of mentioned are back there, back with the Cowboys. You know how aggressive you think some teams are going to be? Today? It was, guys, it was a day of patience for a lot of those teams. Top twenty only one trade in the top twenty. Yeah, So how patient do you

think teams will be? In general? And especially this team here at the Dallas Cowboys. I do expect some action in the first five or six picks in the second round. There's so many good players on the board that we're going to see some trades, guys going up, teams going up to get guys. This team, the Cowboys, I expect them to be aggressive. I expect them to we can call it. You know, it's not necessarily patients. But to sit there and wait fifty seven names come off the board.

Not surely they can do that. Dave Helmy, We did a mock draft for the draft show Tuesday and we made the decision to sit. We did, and we ended up with Tristan Hill. Yes, we did, and so we were thinking about that. It was the way the draft fell. We lost Thornhill right ahead of us. We lost like all the safeties right ahead of us. Okay, let's go. I want to go with you real quickly here. And I know you've done some research on this. I have.

If the Cowboys are hunting safeties and defensive tackles, we just are we on both? Are we just on the safeties part? Both? All right? Did them both walk me through the potential minefield that the Cowboys are going to have to deal deal with? First? On safeties? So this this was a fun exercise. The Cowboys pick twenty sixth in the round, fifty eighth overall, twenty five teams in front of them. So I went through. You know, the Cowboys,

the Cowboys needs are out there right right. The Cowboys list of visitors may not scientific, but more or less is out there. Well in this day and age, that's that's a thing for damn near everybody, right. So I just went through and looked as I just wanted to know of the twenty five teams going in front of Dallas, who has similar team needs and how much of a priority are they? Okay, So I came up with Arizona at thirty three. That's a safety need. They're they're hunting

defensive tackles and safeties. Indianapolis at thirty four has a safety need. I believe they've I mean, Abram was mocked to them. Didn't you mock them, Abram? Or was that somebody else staying so? Yes? So safety need in Indianapolis, defensive tackle need in Oakland at thirty five, big safety need in Seattle at thirty seven after they traded with um who'd they do that deal with last night? Giants? Yes, thank you Giants. Uh. Tampa Bay at thirty nine has

a D tackle need. They're trying to get rid of Gerald McCoy. Uh. Then you skip down a little bit. Detroit at forty three has a safety need. The Rams have it needs at D tackle they lost sue and safety they lost LaMarcus Joiner. Then there's Indie again, so that's another potential problem spot with safety. Carolina has a safety need. Cleveland has a defensive tackle need that they

traded Gibral Peppers. True, Minnesota has both at fifty Tennessee has a safety need at fifty one, said both, yes, okay. Philadelphia has a safety need at fifty three, and then they pick again at fifty seven. So by my tally, that's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten eleven, roughly twelve teams that have a need at a spot, particularly safety, but they have a need at one of the spots where you would prefer to draft. So what did I do after that? Did I take

it another level deeper? Brian Robs, I sure as hell did. Okay. I went and looked at the players these teams have brought in, right, which we know how much the Cowboys value their thirty visits absolutely so. The Arizona Cardinals only brought in Jonathan Abram, he's gone. The Indianapolis Colts brought in Abraham and Chauncey Gardner Johnson. Okay, so that makes a little sense right there. That's that's gonna be probably clear for the Cowboys right there. The Raiders are another

team that looked looked at Chauncey Gardner. Uh, Seattle, this this scares you if you want a safety. I think the Seattle Seahawks brought in Chauncey Gardner, Johnson, Taylor Rap, and Wan Thornhill. Okay, so Seattle went for they're they're hunting. They went four hunting, they went full cowboys on it. And Thornhill I think fits perfectly what they do. You

can play corner, play safety, versatile. Okay. That Seattle pick in front of in front of Dallas happens to be at thirty seven, right, yes, that's that's okay, That's that's when we need to keep an eye on. Right there. The Rams are another team that should scare you. They brought in Taylor Rap and one Thornhill. Okay, they're at forty five. Okay, Uh, Philadelphia, they are also fans of Chauncey.

They are also fans of Thornhill. Okay, that's at fifty three and also at fifty seven, bright ahead of you and we in our mock trap, we had them taken Thornhill at fifty seven if I'm right about that. Okay, And this, This is just for you, Brian. The New Orleans Saints they pick after the Cowboys. They brought in Taylor Rap They also brought in your guy, Joe Wan Williams. Just that's a little land yap for there. Yeah. Okay. Then on the defensive side, defensive line, we're just we're

educated guessing here, but I think they're good educated guesses. Um, Jalen Ferguson and Tristan Hill. Right, these are the names that we tie to the Cowboys. I'm fascinated by this. A lot of love for Jayleen Ferguson. Cardinals brought him in, Colts brought him in, Raiders brought him in. Um, the Rams brought him in. They had too because he wasn't at the combine. Right, So yeah, that is a really good point, Dane. The Philadelphia Eagles brought him in as well.

Tristan Hill. Okay, interesting, not a not a name that you that I found as often Okay, put it that way, okay, Um, But two that really jumped off the page to me. The Cleveland Browns and the Eagles. Okay, So the Eagles who picked twice, yeah, okay, so the Cleveland Browns will be picking Okay, so the Tristan Hill is at Cleveland and that's at forty nine. And then also you said the Eagles who are twice right, it's fifty three and

fifty seven. I believe. Okay, yeah, you're absolutely right about that, um. And then from following from following Patriots writers, I know Tristan Hill is a name that gets brought up in New England as well. Okay, and they picked before the Cowboys at number where are they picked? Well, they pick at sixty four, but don't before they have a pick at fifty at fifty six, there we go, right, So

all right, So that's that's the potential field. That's the mine field that if you're the Cowboys, we welcome to the fray. Jeff Cavanaugh and Kevin kat Turner both will be involved with our coverage tonight. We're simulcasting with one oh five three the Fan. Jeff will anchor the coverage from that, but we'll all be a part of what's going on. Gentlemen, we're talking about potential minefields. If the

Cowboys are interested in going up. If you're you want a safety or a defensive tackle, I'll start with you, Kevin Turner, Uh are you okay with going up to get either a safety or a defensive tackle that but I think that's where we have the next two right right determine our fate. So I feel very good about, you know, just kind of sitting back watching patiently, maybe maybe anxiously. Yes, And then you get to forty three forty four, you need to be ready to get out

of your comfort zone and make a decision. Kind of feel like the draft of the Cowboys is going to start right there. I think at forty probably forty one that's at Denver. But there again, there's these teams that there's a couple of teams early David talked about defensive tackle being a need at Oakland at thirty five and then also Tampa Bay at thirty nine. Jeff, uh, you're knowing you you're not really totally on board with the

going up if it's Tristan Hill. If that's the case, I think I'm on board with just waiting until you have to go up. Yeah, I think I'm on board with just waiting until you have to go up, Because you come into tonight and I'm looking at a board that's full of eight to ten secondary guys that I'm ready to pick at fifty eight. So you guys are talking about the minefield, but I think I would just sit there and start walking through it, you know, until

I lose seven or eight of my guys. Now I know, hey, if we want to dance there, we got to give something up. But until that happens to me, I think I'm just an interested observer. I can look down and be really comfortable with one, two, three, four of the safeties that are still alive. I can look at six of the corners that are still alive. I got ten dbs. I would be happy with being Dallas Cowboys. So I'm

not in a hurry right now. I'm glad. I'm glad you said it that way because the fun disconnect, which we learned during the mock draft that we did on Tuesday, is Jeffrey general manager Kavanaugh wants nothing to do with picking Tristan Hill. There's my team. Jeffrey Kavanaugh. He's just and you should like you put in the work. He's got his own opinions about what he wants and whether or not they're shared by Dallas Cowboys is a completely

different man. Okay, Dave, thank you very much. Guys. We're gonna go live on the fan here in about thirty seconds or so, So thank you guys for joining us the early part here the Fan one oh five three, you go, stay on Dallas Cowboys dot Com. We'll be ready to go here, so uh stay two. The following is a production of the Dallas Cowboys Media Group and

one oh five three the Fan. Welcome to Dallas Cowboys dot Com and one oh five three The Fans Live Bumper to bumper coverage of the NFL Draft with Brian brought us, David Hellman, Dane Brugler, Cowboys coaches, draft picks, and special guests. Now your hosts Kevin kat Turner and Jeff Kevinaugh. All right, everybody, welcome to I may be alone here, but welcome to my two favorite days of the NFL Draft. It starts today and goes into tomorrow.

We have got an all star cast here on one oh five three The Fan and on Dallas Cowboys dot Com. We are thankful for the inclusion, we are thankful for the partnership, and a note is a blast to be in this room. So welcome everybody. Jeff Cavana alongside Dane Brugler, Brian brought us Kevin Turner, Dave Hellman, guys that put in a ton of work to get ready for this day of the draft, to get ready for the tomorrow

part of the draft. And we're here waiting for the draft to get underway and we'll watch these picks come off from a Cowboys perspective, but we're also here to do the draft. Yeah, we're gonna do the draft. No, we will do the draft. That's one of the great things about the h And by the way, welcome to you, to you and k KT for us. Yeah, I heard you guys did a super job on your half yesterday

the first round. Sure, a little bit surprises going on there, but excited to have you here for the start of this round because the Cowboys actually get to make some picks today. Yeah, it's always an intense rivalry on Thursday, but on Friday we make up and we all join together to be basically the Avengers of draft coverage. I like that and so fitting at reference helmet of course is aunt Man here, so I'm the WASP. I wouldn't

mind getting started with Dane Brugler. We have our board, our team board that you do Dane Brugler when you look at your top one hundred or your draft board. Who are the top players available? Who are the guys that you think are going real early today? We have a couple. Offensive lineman Cody Ford, the right tackle for the Sooners, who some teams have him on the board asn't guard surprise he felt out of the first round. He's available here. Juwan Taylor from Florida. A lot of

people thought he'd be a top fifteen pick. Some teams flagged the knee. How does that affect him and where he'll end up today? And then we talk about three positions that I think early second round we're gonna see runs, safeties, corners, wide receivers. We're gonna see We didn't see many of those guys in the first round, so we're gonna see a lot of them here in the earliest part of the second round, probably starting with the first pick in Arizona.

They could use one of each of those positions. Yeah, you know, guys, I'm looking at the board that my top one hundred, and he's right about this offensive tackles, you know, with you talk about with Jowan Taylor, then I kind of float over at those corners. That was something last night that was really and we wrote about this for Dallas Cowboys dot Com. I was surprised that I had three. As much as this league likes to pass, I had three first round corners still sitting on my board.

And I usually am pretty good at evaluate in a corner, but if you look at my first two rounds, I'm in a point where I have six guys available, and I think there's gonna be a run. I think there's gonna be one of those things where teams are like going the value of guys like you know, Byron Murphy at Greedy Williams, you know, and Rock Your Sin is just going to be too much for teams. I mean the team. I look at a team like the Raiders,

that's kind of our adopted team. You know, at thirty five, the Raiders have a really a possibility on you know, if they would have taken Sweat. I think at seven they could have taken four first round picks, you know, at thirty five, because I think they're you know, whoever,

they could take somebody out of this first round. You know that's still on this board and you're like going, WHOA, this team just really helped themselves or great, bet that whoever they take will well, you can't count on that with the Raiders, clearly after that I saw yesterday. But I mean that we've talked about earlier, and you and Dane both have seven eight guys that you had in

your top thirty two yeah that are still available. Yeah. Well, and the runs are gonna they gotta be on the small guys because I'm looking as we're crossing off on our board as they pick all these guys one droo, three, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, thirteen front seven players in one corner. Yeah, that's what we had in the first round, and we kind of saw it coming. We knew where it was top heavy in this draft. But still one corner gone, that many

front seven. That's gotta put the talent poll at corner being now towards the top. The other thing to keep an eye on is the quarterbacks. Drew lock we thought he'd go last night in the first round. He doesn't. He's still available. The Raiders, the Dolphins. Two possibilities there. The Panthers, where does Drew Locke go today? And then a quarterback who's technically not in his draft class by Josh Rosen, does he get traded at night. Is there a spot for him where Arizona gets a deal done

for maybe a second round pick. The Josh Rosen conversation is definitely a big part of tonight's coverage. Got the Raiders at thirty five, Denver forty one, Cincinnatty at forty two. If you want to throw them out, there's a team that might want to take a look at a future quarterback swinging miss because hours ago he was saying he thinks the Miami thing is going to get done for their two. Well I think Miami, Yeah, Miami sitting there

at forty eight. So there's still time as this, uh you know, maybe we'll get some type of breaking news yet as far as I know, but just holding out for more, maybe you know, wait till the last possible second. Wouldn't be the second time the Cardinals floated some stuff out there, or it wouldn't be the first time they floated some stuff out there this week. It's so crazy, though, you go all the way back to this whole process.

You go to the Senior Bowl and all the reports and stories or John Elway is in love with Drew Luck and I got Denver there at forty one who traded back last night at ten, and they're sitting there at forty one again Oakland at thirty five, where they really think about Derek Carr. It is a contract they can get out of pretty easily, So maybe we get some action early in the second round to go get Drew Luck. I thought someone would do it last night just to get the fifth year. I was very surprised

that didn't happen. You wonder how much it is they don't want to hurt their quarterbacks on rosters. You don't want to hurt their feelings. You wonder about that. Joe Flacco, Faco, I understand. I just went through this in Baltimore. I understood John Elway think twice about drafting a quarterback because he doesn't want to put Flacco through it. And I

agree with you, it is not a good idea. What if they told Joe, I'm really sorry, but the last five years of your career shows that I should probably be bringing in competition. How does he have kid, John Elway bringing a quarterback? That's the next question. There you go another layer to the to the conversation. So yeah, it's uh, it's gonna be interesting to see where Locke

ends up tonight. I think I'd rather draft somebody that can help Joe Flacco than try to talk myself into a number of forty one overall quarterback being the guy. And hey, we're broadcasting for a team that drafted Dak Prescott, but that is the exception and not the rule. And you're working with a guy that was have failed at finding a quarterback back in the day. I mean, we would have killed to have a Dak Prescott show up on that board. Hard to find, you know, it is.

It's a very do you guys ever have a higher pick to try to invest We had a second round, we had second and third round picks. We just decided we were trying to play baseball here instead of drafting football players. Well, second and third round, you're usually not going to hit either. Well, the vast majority of these quarterbacks in the league or top ten picks, aren't they. Joe Montana was a three. Well, I'm just saying, you know,

there's no excuse. You know, if you evaluate the position the right way, there's no excuse you should be able to find a quarterback. I know, it's it's tough, the traits are tough, and all that, but that's the way it goes. Hey, Jeff, looks like we're at the commissioner is at the podium right now, so let's see what we are going here. Music good in ning. Welcome tonight too, of the two thousan nineteen NFL draft. More than two hundred thousand fans we're here with us last night. Thank

you for your passion, your incredible Nashville. So tonight we'll have governs of Ludgeons and current players announcing our draft choices. And in the meantime, we have two Nashville icons to help kick things off tonight, so help me welcome Titans legend Eddie George and country music superstar and Titans band Tim McCraw. Guy. Ah, yeah, all right, Nashville. He'll see y'all on the bat I Y'll do it up there

on the movietops. Yeah. That. It couldn't be possible. About you guys, You guys, the best fans in the world, the greatest game in the world until your time here. Thank you very much and tightened up in Nashville. Thank you for being such a great city. I'm so proud of this city and so proud of everybody here. Thank y'all for coming out and supporting us. This has been a fantastic guilt for our city. And like Eddie said, tighten up and we'll be back here to listen to

Tim later tonight. So you guys ready to guy. So the second round is now officially open. The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. Thanks Roger. What are the odds that Roger Goodell is there to see Tim McGraw after round three is over? Slimon none? All right, well, finally we are on the clock. The beauty of these this round and the next round is I believe we'll get seven minutes per pick and then five minutes per pick. Yes we do. We don't just sit here and stare

at each other and wait for something to happen. It's fast and furious, and the Cardinals are ready to rock and roll. After the Cardinals will be the Indianapolis Colts at two thirty four, the Oakland Raiders at two thirty five, and the San Francisco forty nine ers at two thirty six.

All right, let's set it up around the room. Who do you have is your guys at the very very top and the Arizona Cardinals with what they're needing and where we think we might be going here well, and top players on my board the offensive linemen we talked about Jowan Taylor, Cody Ford. Byron Murphy's my number three best player available, the corner from Washington who could play inside, could play outside. Probably best in zone coverage. If you're

a shorter, slower corner. And Byron Murphy is by NFL standards at four to five five and under five to eleven, you better be good everything else. I think he is. He's competitive, he's instinctive, the ball skills are outstanding, the toughness to help out and run support. So Byron Murphy has to be an attractive player here if they want to go dB help out their secondary. Yeah, this is a team that's moving to an odd front too, so you have to think about do they have the type

of linemen that are able to do that. I think they're going to need some interior offensive line. I know Jeff Assume Dave was talking about them as a team that was looking at tackle exactly, So kind of keep an eye on that wide receiver is another look as well. And then outside linebacker again, a team going to a three to four keep an eye on adding those types of players as the night wears on for the Arizona Cardinals. Yeah, I just think about those offensive tackles. Cody Ford for

that offense might not be a good fit. It feels like it might not be a good fit. Like I'm looking at those into your guys, Elton Jenkins, Eric McCoy still on the board, or do you just say you know it, screw it. We got Kyler pick one, let's go h DK metcalf or someone like that. Calvin Harmon, let's just go that route the board to start the second round with the party. Maybe it's too convenient because

he went to Arizona State. But I wonder if the Patriots snatched Nikkil Harry right out from under the Cardinals. Last night, Nikkil said that he wasn't falling past thirty three, right, Yeah, he had an idea that he was going to stay in that area. But yeah, Well, if they still want to go receiver, plenty of talented receivers here A J. Brown, DK Metcalf, I mean at Paris Campbell. So if they

want to go receiver, certainly some talented ones available. I think the receiver group is probably I mean, that's one of the best groups that we're gonna see. Probably what's the high side that we could see over the course of the next two rounds. We can see ten of these guys go. We could see a whole bunch of these guys go, because like I feel like trying to guess their order is really really tough. Harry at thirty two last night, I was like, I say, a receiver,

maybe a J. Brown. Maybe if you go through five names of maybe to try to figure out which one is it gonna be. And it's it's kind of a flavor thing, Brian, like you talk about which kind do you want? Yeah, which flavor do you want? Again, the Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. We're at of these wide receivers. You're right, Jeff. The order in which I don't think there's anybody has any real consistency of this order, you know, especially when there was no first round pick.

It looks like the pick is in for the Arizona Cardinals. So we'll see the commissioner walking up to the podium here very shortly. Can't wait to see him. So like even our board, there's DK Metcalf, Harmon, AJ Brown, Deebo, Samuel Nikkil Harry who I forgot to cross off last night. We have, but he's the one who was the wide receiver that comes off the board. So who knows what order they'll come often, And the Arizona Cardinals have needs. It sounds like at the positions that pretty much all

the players at the top of the board are good. Well, they have needs. Especially their first pick wasn't a need. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, I'm saying they the first overall pick was not a need for the Arizona Cardinals. How yeah, how often does that happen? I just think that's the coaching change. Well, it has to be the coaching change. And that's a unique situation when the worst team in the league doesn't drift for need because you

need everything. That was the thing, and that's why your best off taking the best player because you were the worst roster for a reason. You had the first pick for a reason. Take the best player who's most going to impact your team. That's that's not a bad strategy to have. So, well, you know Larry Fitzgerald, you're talking about receiver. You know Larry Fitzgerald. He might play for

one hundred years. I think there's sixteenth season in the league, so you know it'd be nice if they could grab somebody. You know, a young receiver, have him learned from Larry Fitzgerald. You know Christian Kirk last year, Christian Kirk exactly. And then you know Chad Williams is also a guy. Kevin White, it was a guy. So picks in Commissier's I believe someone is approaching the podium. We've got guest pickers. Goodell's

already hand in it. Afe. Okay, here we go. We have the thirty third pick in the twin of nineteen NFL drought the Arizona Cardinals. Alec Byron Murphy. D Wise, we're talking about all these wide receivers. Yeah, we're talking about the corners as well. Byron Murphy is going to be the guy that goes to Arizona right around the spot where I think we would have pegged him to be picked. Thought he might have gone late yesterday. But to see him going right now. I love Byron. I

love the tape on Byron Murphy. I know the size is not ideal, maybe the man coverage is not ideal, but you know what, hey kind of like his teammate Taylor rap. Maybe my forty times not the best, and maybe I'm not a huge guy. But if you want to ask about the ability to play the position, the change of direction, how easy the movement skills are, Byron Murphy's pretty darn good. Trust the tape, Hey, that's what

you have. A Byron Murphy, a player who you love, the toughness, you love the competitiveness that he plays with. And he you want to get defensive backs, they get their hand on the football, help create turnovers. He does that. And for a player who read shirt sophomore because he red shirted his first year when Washington had all those dbs like Kevin King and Sidney Jones and all those

guys he red shirted, only has twenty starts. But for a guy that's so young, he has such an advanced understanding of coverage, putting himself in a position to make plays. He finds a way to get his hand on the football. Speaking of you know, you just mentioned the dbs that had come out of Washington, I wondered what the impact of Buddha Baker on that roster had, which you know, obviously you're not going to make decisions based on your

your starters. But they were teammates, were they not? I wonder. I'm sure they were at some point, whether they were drafts people. Yeah, you also think about trade rumors though, Like yesterday we saw that Chris Harris talk makes you wonder, are they trying to dangle Patrick Peterson and go ahead

and move that. We've seen rumors with him today. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe they've got something in the works with Patrick Peterson that could It's so funny because they have, how do you say this kindly, a really bad roster, but they're gonna ship off their quarterback and maybe their best playerbuild. I wonder, I wonder. I mean, cornerback is a position that you can play late into

your career, especially when you're somebody like Patrick Peterson. And I would assume he wants to leave Arizona because he wants to go be on a good team. But you've got Kyler Murray. Why don't you believe in Kyler? Maybe he does, like maybe maybe this draft will change his mind. I don't know, I have no idea. I'd be fascinating if one of the top three cornerbacks in the league changed teams this weekend. Maybe tried to get out of town because of Rosen. Another Rosen's gonna be gone. He'll

stick around. It puts the Indianapolis Colts on the clock. That pick is in for the Colts. Then after them will be the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco, Seattle and Jacksonville. So we're waiting for the Colts. It looks like team needs for them. Looking at cornerback, here's another they're making this pick, which is kind of an upset, right, It is a little bit an upset that quarterback. Looking at edge rusher and safety and wide receiver would be needs

for the Indianapolis Colts. J Brown in I think that would be a natural fit in that offense. It would be such a good fit. T Y Hilton out there, I think you a J Brown worked the underneath and run after catch. That would be such a great fit. They did such a nice job last year and upgrading the offensive line. Help out your quarterback. Why don't you help out your quarterback again? Get him a target like AJ Brown. I think that'd do him. Wonders k we'll

talk about again. You guys kind of focused on targets. Talk about what it's maybe going on at cornerbacks though maybe. I mean that was one of the things I listen to that as their number one need. I mean, they need a legitimate starter there at corner, don't they rock y'all Sin Greedy Williams two guys on my board right now. Yeah, Evra Flews the defensive coordinator there, want to cover them up on the back end. I think cornerback makes a lot of sense for this team. I don't you like

better between Greedy and rock yourself? I mean I had Greedy graded a little bit higher, but I think Rock your Sin is. I mean, they're they were so close. Well let's go to podium and find out who it is. Six times Football Super Bowl forty one champion two thousand and eleven to nice jacket. But no, your AFC South teams don't notice. Oh boy, we're back. Okay, we all back. I know you're not born. Oh come on, Tennessee, y'all didn't played the coast twenty times and ten years and

you don't won three games? Oh my word, oh my word. For the Drew Pearson what the thirty four kick and a two thousand and nineteen NFL draft the Indianapolis Coast select Rock you Sin DP Temple. There you go, There we go. It's perfectly with Chris Ballard what he preaches.

Rock your Sin is again you want corners to get their hands on the football, and Rock your sen I think is the best corner or in this draft with us back to the football and playing through the hands of receivers and so good call there by, kat We're gonna We're gonna have a lot of This is very unfortunate for me personally, who said I got ten dbs.

I'm watching thinking fifty eight. What are we tak well, two down with two picks into this track, Well, we gotta take a quick break and we'll come back for the next picks. We'll keep this going and break down exactly where we are in the NFL Draft. We'll be right back with more from Round two of the NFL Draft on one oh five three the Fan and we should be back here with the Internet side of things.

So again, guys, yeah, Rock you Sin, Katie, I'll give you an opportunity since you made a nice little call there. Dan gave us a little thumbnail about Rock you Sin. How about something you thought about him as six foot one ninety um moves really well, though I mean you can see him with Ryan, He'll throw his body around. I saw the thing I like, my name's is tough. You know some of these corners you see him not really want to go in there and tackle a little bit.

He was okay, throwing his throwing his body around every once in a while, a little bit grabby, but you know that's that's okay, might get flight a little bit, It's okay. Do you like the length? Do you like the quitness and short spurts and just competitive player. I mean I saw a tough player, kind of like we saw DeAndre Baker who went last night. The tough guy who's gonna make it uncomfortable on wide receivers all day long. Okay, it looks like we have a trade. Is an offensive tackle? Yeah,

it has to be. It has to be an offensive tackle. Jacksonville is coming up to this spot. This will be Oakland, Oakland spot at thirty five. Everyone in their mother thought Jacksonville was taking a tackle at seven, and they probably were until Josh Allen got pushed down the board. Yes, exactly right. I just would be shocked if this isn't them getting The whole world mocked him. Jowan Taylor seven and they're gonna get him at thirty. No, the real

upset is gonna be when this is Cody Ford. Okay, well if if if you talk about Taylor, then because that was something that you mock, you kind of talk a little bit about a thumbnail on on Taylor's way. Um, I want to pass the ball on that. Because I wasn't the biggest fan of his tape. I thought I thought that he was a guy that he gosh, he went through the best of the best, really the guys that he had to block this year. But I thought that the speed guys gave him a little bit of trouble.

But you know, that's a guy that on the right side there for Florida was rock solid. I think the most of the time you could see him get some movement. There's there's a little bit of everything that you would want from an offensive tackle. I just thought that when he went up against some of those premier speed guys that gave him a little bit of trouble. Baine Burglar, John Taylor. It rarely looks pretty. You know, he's not a technician. There's a lot of body to body block.

Not the scouting report. I want to hear on the top forty. But he's productive, you know, I mean, he does a nice job of shielding the pocket. Uh, he's a guy with the contact balance as you want. Uh, he's powerful, he can move bodies. So uh here we got to pick at the podium right now, go ahead,

let's go. What a great idea to have to trade the open Raiders have traded the thirty fifth pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars with thy Fifi and in two thoy nineteen NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Juwan Taylor Tack. So I had this in my first round MAK last night to the Jaguars. Do I get credit for that team in the Yeah, yeah, I think you got it.

A nice little twenty eight spot difference. It happens. Yeah, absolutely. Well, you know, the knee, we had some knee concerns for some Tea was flagged with the knee for a lot of teams. And one of the few guys left remaining in that green room, they're happy to get his name called, and so we've still got Now the unfortunate part is we talk about all these good players that are left when we're talking about potential cowboy picks and this guy's and this guy's and look at this, it's gonna be

so great. And of course, oh wow, the good players are going off the board really quickly. Who would have thought it's funny, because yeah, I mean, we thought we had it all hammered down last night and we were getting surprised after surprise. This is going so far exactly the way you would have predicted, that awesome corners that everyone had pegged his top twenty five picks. That's ready for him to get to fifty eight. Man, I don't

think so the top. I mean, all we need now is for Greedy Williams to go, and like all of those big names from last night will be gone. For the most part, I was hopeful that we could get to a point where, even if Greedy Williams didn't make it, that it would take longer for those guys to go off of the board, so that I could have a dream of Sean Bunting at Central Michigan or Justin Lane

making it all the way to fifty eight. But when we're seeing two of the first three picks being a corner and then a tackle going, it looks like my dreams are not in good shape, Brian, No they're not. And just to give you an idea the particulars of the trade real quick, if I could, The Jacksonville Jaguars trade the thirty eighth overall pick. They also send one O nine to the Raiders. The Raiders send thirty five

to Jacksonville. They also send one forty which is a fifth round pick, and then they also send two thirty five, which was a pick from Seattle. So again the trades. The Raiders sent two picks. The Raiders sent two picks. That's what they did, so can you read them again? For yes, they pick up, the Raiders get thirty eight and one O nine. They ship, They ship thirty five, one forty and two thirty five. It's what they do. So in the end they actually make up pretty good

ground getting that pick one O nine. One O nine was the deal that they were hunting. Guys, trading up is not that expensive this year? Well maybe really maybe the math maybe I'm wrong, and the math is going to say this works, But that sounds pretty cheap to move up three spots in the third. I'm sure the math will work out. Because these late picks are so I mean, they're worth basically nothing on the trade value charge, right, Yeah, yeah, it puts uh let's see here with uh San fr

the clock their pick is in right now. That would mean Seattle would be behind them, and then Oakland, Tampa and Buffalo picks in for San Francisco. We can kind of talk about a little bit about what the what the forty nine ers are looking at? Right there? A wide receiver, a corner again, and an offensive tackle. So that's kind of where we're at. Let's see if what does that offense look like? If you're looking for a wide receiver for San Francisco, which old miss guy would

you like to have? Is that a fit for DK Metcalf or is that somewhere we'd rather work underneath with a J. Brown? Something that reminded at the combine DK Metcalf admitting that the interview with the forty nine ers is a little contentious. Oh, it sounds like a perfect fit. Yeah, And so I don't know if DK Metcalf would be a great fit there, but I think a J. Brown would be an ideal fit for Kyle Shanahan and that offense.

And if any team is a match for a J. Brown, does it also make them a match for Deebo Samuel because I kind of view him as full sized guy, good hands outside. Yeah, Ebo in my day two research, Debo is a guy the Niners brought to their facility in this process. So, well, don't take him. I've got plans for him. Dave and I have plans. We've got plans to be mad when the Cowboys don't get him. Is that your plan? I built a shrine. I'm gonna sell it to you. I would buy it, Honestly, I

would choose my guy man. So San Francisco will wait for that pick to be in and then the Seattle Seahawks will be on the clock. I show San Francisco as a team that could use wide receiver help, defensive line help, corner, OH line safety. What have they already done in this draft? Do they go, yeah, this would be a prime spot for a corner or a wide receiver. I'll be pretty surprised if it's not one of those two positions, and I get great value in either one.

Didn't you help with both spots? Greedy Williams still out there? They go wide receiver we mentioned, I mean Richard Sherman playing left corner for him, right now, right, I mean, I'm just saying a veteran guy that you know, could probably they could probably surely use some help healthy. He

was a little bit of a liability at times. Keim Butler, some of these other big rangey receivers, or I do it all guy, the A. J. Brown's, the Deepo Samuel's exactly all make you know, a lot of sense for that passing game, which Kittle is kind of the featured guy there, man that do everything guy who can still be highly productive, go get you have eighty ninety catches, you know, early on, maybe not early on his career,

but down the road. I've used Debo and AJ Brown as a guy who's gonna catch eighty balls for me a year. You know, I think that's a very good fit for Jimmy Garoppolo as well. Oh no, we got plans for these guys. And by the way, i'd like to welcome back the one, five three, the fan listeners. Well, we're gonna work to talk back and we're gonna be able to hear the spots later. Okay, all right, well,

welcome back all of you listeners. Yes, well, we are in the second round here, we're in the fourth pick of the second round, waiting to see what the San Francisco pick is, and they're at the podium. We're at the podium with the forty nine. What did you mean tonight? Is the Marcus Cobb, son of longtime forty nine, a scout in NFL running back Reggie Cobb, legend, great man. This past weekend, Reggie passed away from a sudden heart attack.

Please join us in a moment of silence in the honor of the laden Reggie Cobb and Anna, Reggie Kap and DeMarcus. I'm gonna give him him the opportunity to introduce the forty nine Ers, thirty six pick of the twenty nineteen NFL Draft. Thank you, Thank you guys. First of all, I think the NFL for allowing me to do this one thing, John Roger Goodell, They've really win

above beyond for all this. But I know we are here for so with the thirty second pick in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft, the San Francis and forty nine is selected. Deebo Samuel No No. I refuse to accept that pick, and I'm not gonna write down that that happened. And we're just gonna pretend that it didn't as Deebo Samuel David Ice dream was gone. Jeff, this is actually a good thing. I'm glad it. How is that a good thing? It's a good thing, So we can accept

whatever they pick. He was not going to be a Dallas cowboy. He was a visit. Why are we dismissing him while we focus on all the other visits. It's just because they want defenders. That's why they want defenders. It's written in the stars, It's written all over the walls, all over this place. And I just if Deebo had been there, I'm not convinced they would have taken him,

which would have really upset me. So it's like it's like a fish, you know, like be like, let him go swim and carry on, go have a great future. He had the first three receivers off the board as Hollywood Brown to kill, Harry and Deebo seeing me, that's exactly no, I was gonna that's a testament to this wide receiver class though no consensus. Well, and also look at it from the perspective of this team. They knew that this was gonna happen. They knew that this was coming.

We've got a Tradin Again, Carolina is gonna come up to thirty seven. They're gonna take that pick from Seattle. Seattle move back on. Yeah, so Seattle's gonna move back and Carolina is gonna come up. But I did want to go back to the Cowboys knew what this receiver class looked like. They talked about it when they traded

for a Mari Cooper. If we have a need at number one wide receiver and there's one available, and we know that the class coming up has no consensus top pick, we don't know if we'd have a first round graded wide receiver, it makes even more sense to just go get a guy. Where would a Mari Cooper go in this draft? Dane? Yeah? Top five? Yeah, probably top five? Yeah, I mean so even with the looming contract, Yeah, you

know you still take him that high. Absolutely. I mean I again, we didn't have a first round wide receiver in this draft. Yeah, it's great you would. You would have talked about him as a top I think a top five, top eight player for sure in this draft. So Carolina up now at pick thirty seven, graded up shocked. It was the Seahawks that traded away from that pick. Shaws what they had like four picks in this year's draft, and they're like, we're gonna turn this into as many

as we can. Think they had five I think on Thursday afternoon, and they they're gonna end up with ten, probably eight coming into today. I think the Cowboys are gonna have to get into this mode as soon as possible of trying to acquire picks. It may not be this year, but it's gonna happen to him. Like Russell Wilson gets thirty five million dollars a year, what do you now need as many cheap contributors as you can find, because the Boys are about to be there. Could this

be for a quarterback? Carolina gave up their second in their third to move up ten spots. Yeah, so it's someone they want. Yeah, Dane is absolutely right. Carolina's ships, Uh, Are Cam Newton that close to not be in their shoulder? Yeah? His shoulders messed up and they've been doing a lot of work on these these quarterbacks. So they try to get ahead. I mean who you're getting in front of. You're getting ahead of the Raiders, You're getting ahead of Denver.

Do we know what the pick was? By the way, they need. They need to protect the seventy seven Dave Helmett, thank you, So Carolina Carolina gets picked forty seven and seventy seven, and the Seattle axcume they send uh, actually, that's right, and then Seattle's got seventy seven and forty seven. Carolina moves up to thirty seven, thirty seven. They need to protect their quarterbacks. To day for sorting that outfum Here, here we go selection at the podium, except rated at

the thirty seven pick two the Carabinas. I'll be half a panther nation, the team that made my dream come true thirteen years ago. It's my honor, Tanna Juice with a thirty seven pick, Greg Little tackle oh miss, here we go. There's one of my guys. Okay, Carolinas or it's one of my guys. Do write by your MVP, yes, sir, don't get some blockers for this poor guy, Greg Little out of old Miss by way of Alan, Texas. By the way, this is another that's two picks in the

top thirty seven for Alan High School. This year, when Bobby Evans gets drafted, there'll be another one. Hit me with the scouting report on Greg Little. What the Panthers are getting. Yeah, I think that he There are sometimes when you watch him and you think, Okay, this guy's a first round pick, and then you watch them other times and you're like, Okay, maybe not. He He's really blessed with the full skill set. He has the foot quickness, he has the relaxed punch, he has over thirty five

inch arms. You just don't see the consistency with him, and you wish she was just showed a little bit more grit. It was a little more competitive as a finisher. But at the same time, you have a guy who has all the tools to be a franchise left tackle in this league. The Panthers really thought about going Andre Dillard in the first round. Instead they went Brian Burns. Here,

they get that left tackle they've been searching for. So they get two cornerstone pieces with the pass rusher from the first round, left tackle here in the second round. How would you grade what they've done so far? Brian with Brian Burns mid first Greg little early two. R's See, I'm not I'm not that's true. I'm not a Birds fan, but yeah, you know, I'm a little fan. Here's another

trade going off here, let's trap. But I'll tell you what though, I do like the little pick though, I absolutely do like that though, and I and again I will admit that if I'm wrong about about Burns, I will absolutely admit that. We'll see Carolina has a great history though of being able to put pressure of the quarterback. Let's see if they can continue to do so. Oakland just traded this pick again. Yes, hello, if they're coming up from forty to thirty eight, they're just jumping Tampa

Bay if that's where they're coming from. I don't know what it is. This okay, this is yeah, this is Oakland's pick, and they just now sent it again to Buffalo. Right, Buffalo's coming up buff If that's from forty, they're only jumping one team, is it Greedy Williams? Because they need a cornerback, they need offensive tackles. Is Cody Ford of possibility defensive end? I think yeah, I think we're looking at We're not a tight end that makes sense in

this range? Right? IRV Smith? IRV could let me give you those numbers if I could, Dave? Yeah, sorry, Buffalo is uh now uh, let's see that's the Buffalo traits forty and they sent a fifth round pick, which is one fifty eight, so forty Okay, one fifty eight goes to Oakland as well, right, and they're going up a grand total of two spots to the Raiders run of Tampa Bay to take somebody. Yeah, Raiders. Raiders pick up one fifty eight. So that's uh. And that's a pick

that Oakland initially had. By the way, let's take Drew Rock and push him and Josh Allen create the ultimate quarterback con ultimate cardinal situation. I'm kidding, obviously, but I'm also no. I mean, I've got I've got their needs. They drafted a d tackle yesterday. They got at Oliver, maybe one of my favorite picks in this draft. They need d end, they need corner, they need offensive tackle, they need tight end. Greedy Williams sounds like it makes a lot of sense. Tackle makes a lot of sense.

And I think those are probably two names right at the top of the guys that we have available. If you feel like you need to jump somebody to go get them, I could see it being Greedy or Cody Ford. I got Cody Ford higher on my board. I have him at the top one hundred. I got me number fifteen and I got greedy at seventeen. So either one'd be a pretty good value on them, either one of them, you know, to make this work. So so we'll wait

on Buffalo. The fun part is that we're getting a lot of action and having to try to keep track of where all the spikes are going. This is what we expected the top ten to be. Well. Teams had a chance to sit on their board a little bit and all of a sudden, all these names, they have all these first round names there, and I mean, yeah, I mean that's that's the crazy thing. We had all those names, all those first round names, and now teams are like a whoa, whoa value here, let's go. I

have one first round name left. That's Cody Ford. Cody Ford. I love Cody Ford, and so do I. He's a top twenty player on my board. Uh. I think the biggest reason why he felt a little bit of Some teams have him on the board a guard and not tackle, but I should. There's nothing on his tape that says he can't play right tackle for you, I've got actually three I get Mack Wilson is gonna kill me, I

think is what happened. That's you and I. Yeah, I have his tape, his first round tape, and we put him there, and we knew full well he wasn't getting picked yesterday. But we don't window dress, Brian. We put our board the way that we see the players. So mack Wilson got a first round grade the end. Don't laugh at me, Dave. I'm not laughing. I just I love you and I I love GM Kavanaugh. That's all. We're not gonna window dress the board, and you shouldn't.

If we get on the clock and we see a first round grade available, I don't care what the league thinks about it, and we're taking him. We're gonna dance. That's what we're gonna do. What I love is that you'll never do that, like you'll never act. I planned to be a GM next year. You know what's going to screw that up? As Mayock picking Ferrell at number four. Now, media guys are gonna have a shot. It's Furrell, sir. Oh,

now that's double. I'm in trouble now. Dane's gonna get the job because he knows how to pronounce all the names. So it was probably next in line to be fair well, yeah, because Brian would turn down the interview and tell him I hate all of you. I am a big fan of I've had my day in the sun. Brian would be like, how much time is available for fishing? Yes, not very much this time of year, not very much. Okay, So we're waiting to see the pick from Buffalo and

it's gonna be at the podium right now. We're gonna take this pick and then we'll take our break. Let's see what Buffalo is doing. Fifteen Bills Man of the Year Wood lossom weight, a lot of weight. The Oakland Raiders have traded the thirty eighth pick to the Buffalo Bills. With the thirty eighth pick in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bill select Cody Ford, tackle Oklahoma. To job boys, sometimes you just look at the very top of the

board and you pick the guy that's there. So the Buffalo Bills come up for Cody Ford and are your twenty nineteen second round of the NFL Draft. Will continue in just a minute here on one oh five three the Fan, and we continue and we continue on with one oh five three the Fan. We'll work with them, but also we got our internet side of things. Um, guys, where kind of going through the kind of going through this. We've seeing a lot of action going on with these

teams trading and then being involved. Uh you know, we we we again, it's all these first round grades. I think that people or these these players that we all thought had a lot of a lot of promise that that could be potential first round guys. But teams are teams are seeing that, and we're teams are being very aggressive here right now. I think that's where you talk

about this draft though. There could be guys who we think should go to top twenty, or teams should think you should go top twenty, and other teams may around the league go that might take him in the fifth. You know, Like now we've hit that point of the draft where it's very much you know what do you like? You know? And I think this is interesting because you see the drop at tackle. This is where I think

we've reached. Well, this is where I think the Tristan Hill discussion really comes into play because the drop at tackle pretty quickly after him, Zach Allen maybe is out there defensive tackle or defensive end, however you view him. Maybe Draymont Jones, Anthony Nelson, but like their names start thinning out pretty quickly. There still see a lot of names at cornerback. Now. I don't think the ones I

really like are gonna last in the third round. But you can see where these teams might be thinking, you know, making these trades up here and the thirties, and this is where the Cowboys got active five years ago to go get to Marcus Lawrence that area, and you got a team sitting there. The next group of teams, obviously the Oakland Raiders are interested and just keep backing up. Yeah, if you know so, there's a team you might get to it forty if you in fact want to go there.

You know, Denver was a team that did some early trading. Cincinnati's never gonna trade, Detroit's never gonna trade. Maybe green Bay, Yeah, you know green Bay at forty four. If you're if you're the Cowboys, are you okay with how this has gone so far? Is everything kind of making you feel

a bit better about your situation going forward? No? I mean, but you had to kind of see it coming, because as soon as we sat down, we talked about how there's some really good corners left, and there's some really good offensive tackles left that it's not going to be a secret. Teams are going to go get them. I was kind of earmarking the halfway point at forty five, where how many safeties do I still have on the board there, because that's when you really have to go

how many of these safeties do I like? And am I willing to move up if they fall to fifty? Can I get away with just giving up my fourths? You know, there's a lot of trade inventory talk that we can start talking about, you know, later on in

the draft. If your safeties are still there at forty five, well, it looks like the picks in Jeff for the Buccaneers again where at two thirty nine is where we're at right now, So that again this is this is one of the few teams it's uh, you know, they've had a couple of teams that have stood in their made picks and Tampa Bay will be the one to make it at this particular time. So so they've taken a linebacker in the first round. They went with Devin White

from Elia. They go back to back LSU kids here, David Helmet. They absolutely could they love LSU guys. They had Kwan Alexander. They drafted Devin White. Greedy's got to be the best player left on most boards, right, am I crazy to think that? Yeah? I don't like I said. I think Dane's almost wiped out in his first round grades. I'm down again to mac Wilson and Greedy. So here we go, no more suspense. Who it is, Nashville, you

are killing it this way nice. With a thirty ninth pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneer selects Sean Bunting, DB's control Michigan cornerback. Love it. Yeah, that was my cornerback. Though we'll talk about your cornerback end a little bit over there. Bunting is the first guy I've ever written about in my notes that said, I think he's offended if the wide receiver gets off

the line of scrimmage. He loves the physical part of the game at the line of scrimmage, and he's athletic enough to match wide receivers in the route. But man, if you don't run your route with purpose, you will go out of bounds because Sean Bunting is not here to play around with you. I thought his tape was tons of fun to watch. Dan, you have any other thoughts about him covering Clauber corner. He's gonna escort receivers out of bounds, He's gonna run better routes than the receiver.

He can get his hand on the football, high upside player. And I said it earlier a couple of weeks ago that if you want Sean Bunting, you have to get into the top forty to get him. And here he goes at number thirty nine. So nailed it. Love the fit, yep, good fit there. And now that puts the Oakland Raiders

on the clock here at forty. Yeah, the Raiders initially started the day at thirty five, and if it just kind of worked way down the board, making a couple of trades along the way to Jacksonville and then to Buffalo. So now they sit here, this is Buffalo's original pick at two forty. We'll see if in fact, again they've picked up some stuff, some capital at the end of the end of the draft to maybe not have to

fight some teams in free agency a little bit. So you still have Drew Lock on the board at forty Denver at forty one. Drew lock time. I don't know this is this would be a good spot, right, Yeah, it feels like these teams need quarterbacks. We're preparing to come back on the raid standby Dallas Cowboys dot Com. Welcome back. It is one oh five three the Fan

and Dallas Cowboys dot Com. We are doing the draft for you here as we are at pick number forty in the second round, the Oakland Raiders are on the clock. They've got three minutes to pick, and we have had tons of trades, which is a lot of fun. But we were just talking about kind of what it means for the Cowboys in terms of watching the players are coming off this board and how does that make you feel, Dave, when you're watching the names that we're losing early in

this draft. Some of the last picks Cody Ford Oklahoma tackle slash guard, Greg Little tackle old miss. We lost Deebo Samuel, another tackle, Juwan Taylor and two corners. How does that match up with what you'd like to see? Well, it's it's a fun reminder of like you know, your your hopes verse reality. Like you wake up on Friday morning and you're like, yeah, maybe these guys will slide and there's gonna be this crazy talent pool there for

the Cowboys, except there's thirty one other teams. And I think Dane made the point, you know they watch these guys, they know who's good. Well, if you're talking about the Cowboys, is as Dave went through in our pre draft show, you just avoided a team that needed a defensive tackle. Well, and that's the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So now you're you're dealing with teams like Oakland. We have a defensive tackle

need there. Now they're on the clock, so you know you're gonna have to avoid us some teams if in fact you're holding for that defensive table. Next team the next day, the next team after the Raiders will be all the way down at forty five, and that's the Los Angeles Rams. So if you could kind of find your way past this pick that's in going in right now, you know, maybe it's getting closer and closer and closer,

but there's there's going to be that again. That minefield at forty nine with Cleveland fifty with Minnesota is another one you're gonna have to deal with as well. A very good point, which you know the Cowboys are watching their positions. But on the flip side, if you are hoping to have some of these top tier talents pushed

down the board, that hope is evaporating quickly. But yeah, I mean other than Deebo Samuel, who we really didn't believe was ever going to be a cowboy, nobody that the Cowboys had realistic aspirations of drafting is off the board so far tonight. Let me ask you this because Brian, you've said that they're hunting under tackles. They're looking for a three technique tackle. We know the name Tristan Hill

from Central Florida. When we look at our board, we see Tristan Hill there with a third round grade and we also have Draymont Jones from Ohio State as a third round grade. Other than those two guys, I think that's almost a tier by itself right now, like you had the top tier of interior players to us at least, I think it's a two man tier at the next

one that we're kind of tracking throughout this round. Now, you're absolutely right there, and you know you want to if you know the whole thing about these distraft is, you know, Kat, they don't really care what you and I think right now, they don't. I mean that's that we're here doing radio the best we can to investigate and educate. And you know, they might have Hill as a much higher player on their board than you know, you and I talk about, but the third round grade.

He's the sixty sixth best player on my top one hundred. You know. With that being said, though, they might have this guy in the in the forties, right, you know, on their board, and you know, and they don't feel like that, you know they don't. They're gonna have to sit here and either they're gonna sweat this thing like we did Tuesday night, or we're gonna see them jump in there to one of those teams maybe at Green

Bay and four picks. Don't be surprised if the Cowboys, if they feel like they might lose their guy chump in their raiders now to create Charles Woodson and Super Bowl forty five champion Charles Woodson. All right, now, hold on, hold on, hold on first order of business and keep it with tradition. You know, this is the way Willie Brown would want it. He's gonna wish some happy Mother's Day, you guys. Mother's Day is coming up. Don't forget about your mom's old Mother's Day, Call her, take her out

to dinner, buy or something. Don't forget about moms. So Happy Mother's Day to holder mothers out there, those that are here, those that we have lost. Willy Brown, we love you, baby. Now let's get down the town business right quick full Oscot Charles Watson. With the fortieth pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Trayvon Mullen dB. I think they're trying to get that defense built up a little bit. Yon mull in

the corner from Clemson player at Williams. Yeah. Interesting. The Raiders like who they like and they don't give it. Damn. Yeah, what you think, especially those Clemson defensers, defensive players, Well, what about let's let's revisit that, because what about Greedy Williams could have him still on the board. We haven't heard anything about injuries. It just that he's not for everybody, the kind of just press tackling man. Yeah, we know

he's not tackling. Yeah, physicality and stuff, right, It just comes down to the competitive nature. He leaves production on the field and he shut things down in November last year. And on one hand, you can understand it to college players, you know, preparing for the next level. But at the same time, are you have to worry about that when he's in a contract here? You have to worry about

that when your team's out of contention. You want a guy who loves football wants to compete, Not everybody thinks that that's what Greedy Williams is going to give you. Denver Broncos is the next team on the clock in kat Is it Drew Lock time? I mean, I think if there was any time to do it, it would

be here. But you know, who knows. They might not like him, and that would tell you why they wouldn't have taken him yesterday or you know so so so they're trading up to get him, And maybe you feel like, I don't know, it just seems like everything that we've heard of the Drew Lock John La connections, maybe that is all nothing. You know, maybe that was all just

a lot of smoke. But I tell you what, if I am a Denver Broncos fan, I would be okay with that, because man, I'm not comfortable with what I've done at quarterback, not now over the last few years. To me, it makes a lot of sense. This would be a good area for him, or if it's Will Greer or Ryan Finley or whoever you like, assuming it's not a quarterback. If it's not a quarterback, should be some needs there if you got him. Yeah, yeah, wide receiver,

offensive guard, outside linebacker. I think Joe Flacco like filling the deep ball to DK Metcalf, like he'd enjoy that. I got him. Know a fan of the last couple of years, he's refused to throw the ball more than three yards down the field. Yeah, anymore, you are determined to hate this man Flacco. Yeah, he's not good. I know. I'm not arguing with He hasn't been good in a while. I don't think. I don't think Drew Locke is a

clear upgrade. Maybe not right away. No, No, Joe Flacco did a great job of getting hot at the perfect time to get one hundred billion dollars. Or they could trade the pick and move down and keep doing that bit. Yeah, I could see that happening. They got they got fat for Flacco last night, So do they? I mean they? I mean not that they couldn't double dip and get a receiver too. I want, but you know, maybe take

care of one of those lines ahead. Are you thinking though that maybe they would go Brown over Medcalf here? I think he'll be the more productive receiver. I think he's the same. He would be a safer bed. If I were picking a receipt and you say that he think he would be the best pro player, the Brown would be Yeah, it'd be easy. I mean, I think Metcalf gives you a higher upside because she's just a freaky athlete. He rar do you see a guy with those types of traits? But AJ Brown's a better receiver

right now. And if DK Metcalf never catches up to him, I don't think that shouldn't surprise anybody, you know. It's it's interesting you start looking at those guys and A J. Brown just feels like he does a little bit of everything. And then he may not look like the most like, you know, shifty guy at all times, and he looks him go Okay, there he is making a catch and then running after the catch and getting all these yards

and doing dirty work. And it's not the same type of players, sorts of size, but just the style of play reminds me so much of Jarvis Landry just gonna will catch everything, and I'll go do the dirty work over the middle, and I'll find a way to catch him staring at me. Break tack. You guys are dany and I got an argument went time of the draft show, and he made me look like a complete jackass, and that's what and and he was right though, you know, And I started, I'm thinking, oh, I'm just gonna I'm

gonna ride this one out. And I started asking people. I started asking scouts around the league. Jeff was also involved with this, and everybody's like, you're a fool. You think he's that, You think he's that. And so yeah, I had my moments, my senior moments where I'm not very good at the scouting stuff. That was fun. But yeah, you know, you know, I think that what the Lions share.

The people are saying that the Jeff Cavanaughs, the Dane Burglars, the many scouts around the league that I know that you know, this guy's got a shot. Brown just got a shot. J Brown's got a shot to be a really really really good pro. Denver at the podium, Willson, what's up Nashville, What's up Nashville? O? Good man. It's so I'm real by man, how about? But they really bought down the second round. By the way, the Broncos have just traded into the next spot too with the

forty first. With the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select Dalton Risner. Okay said offensive guard Dave is one of the needs. Kansas State man, A lot of people are projecting to be a guard. I would imagine that's what he's gonna be asked to do there in Denver, Dane. If your cornerback's not good, get him some you know, protect him right. And he played right tackle Kansas State and he didn't get beat very often. But you just look at a skill set and he's

ideally suited inside as a guard. But I think he does give you that versatility where if you need him to kick out and tackle on a pinch, he can do that. You need him to go inside the center, he can do that. The Broncos had a need at right guard. They needed someone to step in and compete, and I think Dalton Riiser does that from day one.

So first two picks, they go offense with a tight end and know a fan in the first in a second, and here they go with a versatile offensive lineman and Dalton Reisener and they just trade it up to the next pick. Gonna say, do have something wrong here because I'm showing the Denver Broncos having just made a pick and being on the clock. Yes, they traded to pick forty two, just where we see Drew Locke. I guess they came up from fifty two. I'm guessing Cincinnati actually

made a trade in a draft. Yeah, crazy right. The one thing about Riiser it's interesting, like you could watch him like the game it really stood out to me was the Mississippi State game where he went up against Montes Sweat because it was an indictment of both players, and also it showed you how good both players could be because there were times when Sweats length and speed would give Riisener issues and there were times when you'd

see Riiseners strength give montes Sweat issues. And I thought that was a really good battle and kind of help you get a good evaluation on both players. So that's pretty good spot for him right there. And they didn't need help on their interior trade. Yes, Cincinnati sends to forty two to Denver Denver in turn sends fifty two, which they got from Pittsburgh, and then they send one, twenty five and one eighty two. So fifty two it is not expensive to go up in this draft. Fifty two,

one twenty five and one eighty two. Let's apply that to the Cowboys for a second. So you just saw a team go So one eighty two is a sixth, is it not? It is, Dave? And twenty five is a fourth. Five is the middle end of the fourth round. Yeah, so you you send basically a late fourth, mid fourth, and a sixth to go ten spots in the second. Yeah. So if you're thinking about the Cowboys, we're still we're

still sixteen picks away. So you could maybe if you're the Cowboys, go fourth round comp pick at one thirty six and you're five maybe maybe so and actually get up in this draft, say one twenty eight, and you and your fifth would definitely do it. At least according to what's happening right in front of us right now, they don't have a six, you're right, they do have

a fifth. They have a five, So you have to play with a four and a five or a four and a seven something to keep in mind when you you know, looking at Miami, looking at pick fifty, you get down into that range. All right, let's find out what the Broncos are gonna do with what they traded up for there. We'll find that out as soon as we get back right here. It's the NFL Draft on one oh five three the Fan by Dallas Cowboys dot Com, and we're back here on the Dallas Cowboys dot Com

side of things. The Denver Broncos have are gonna have back to back picks. They were at as we talked about, they were at their own pick at two forty one. They've now traded with the Sins Bengals, which is shocking to me. I don't think I've ever in the history of my life ever traded with the Cincinnati Bengals. But I love the way they draft players. But this is now the Broncos pick at two forty two. We'll keep the needs chart there. Dave at two forty two, it

looks like they've gone guard and tight end. Kat was kind of talking about a quarterback. We've got some wide receivers. They're still sitting on this board. Anything in directioning hawk right, and we've been talking about Locke. Maybe they didn't expect him to be there that long and they go up for him. It's I mean, okay, they need a linebacker with we We've been talking about this receiver class stretching all night, haven't we. So you're gonna go up ten spots.

I mean, if you're convinced you're gonna get your guy, I guess you could. But teams great for quarterbacks, did they not? Yeah? They sure do. Our wide receiver whisperer happens to be Jeff Kavanaugh and he was on it about him and Dave on about Deebo Samuel. Is it Madcalf? Is that? I mean, we what what's happening there? Is it still him? Or you had another idea of Brown?

How do you see that? Rulin? I know our board has Matcalf and then Brown and that kind of that awarder though, But you're thinking the Broncos are going to go different. Yeah, And I think if you want a wide receiver, it's it's it's interesting because they went to the same school, but it's totally up to do you want to play it safe or do you want to shoot for the stars? And maybe a J. Brown is going to be a eighty catch twelve hundred yard guy.

But like DK Metcalf, you're gonna see shades of Calvin Johnson when you watch him play in college, and a J. Brown you're gonna feel like, well, he's gonna be a solid player. And he's gonna be that for a long time, I think. And so you know, we got Metcalf higher on the board. If you really gave me a football team and said, hey, you can pick which receiver do you want, I might be a coward and say I want a J. Brown. I feel better about it. Should that have been. I mean, when we were doing all

that kat that really wasn't much of a discussion. We talked got a lot about how good Brown was, but we really you guys, and again, Jeff, I trust your evaluation. These wide receivers we Metcalf could be so amazing. He could be so amazing. You're not supposed to be that big and get off the line at the speed that he does. It looks like to pick is in for

the Denver Broncos. So we'll go to the podium and once again get Al Wilson, the former Tennessee vall himself to get this pick and with the forty second pick in the two thousand and nineteen NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select Drew Locke. There he goes interesting, Missouri's quarterback

is off the board to the Denver Broncos. And I'll tell you what I was starting to wonder about quarterbacks in general, because when the Cardinals took Kyler, and then the Giants got their guy at six, and Washington got their guy at fifteen, Miami cems like the last suitor for Josh Rosen, Like, that's the only team in the league that doesn't have their guy. If they take Josh Rosen, everyone in the league has their guy. Yeah, next year, people will change their minds on some of their players.

And you have some fifth year contracts that right now, but everybody has their guy now. You also, no, yeah, sure, yeah, there's not many teams in Miami and you don't even know if they're willing to want to get a guy, right, you know? With true Luck, My question on him is how much did it matter that things weren't always clean for him? Like things were always clean for Haskins and Murray, right, it wasn't always clean for Drew Luck. There a lot of times he's taking hits and she's getting his butt

hit back there. Sure, but you look at the arm strength, the anticipation. There are questions the touch, you know, questions, but in terms of just going out and making throws, hey, it's all there. Can I get you into a place where I can protect you, give you time and develop you, then you like what you have there. If he can sit for a year two in Denver, you know you like what you have if we can continue to develop that,

because it's all there from a trade standpoint. All right, we're about to come back on radio, So stand by Dallas goos dot com. Welcome back to the second round of the NFL Draft. We're on pick number forty two.

We'll pick number forty two. Actually just happened. It was the Denver Broncos who had back to back picks as they traded up Dalton Risner from Kansas State, the offensive lineman goes to the Broncos, and then Drew Lock, quarterback Missouri, who a lot of people thought would go in the first round, finds his home here with the tenth pick of the second round. Dane, I'll ask you about Drew Lock in a second because now the Lions are at the podium at forty three. Billy takes over the Heisman

ceremony every years. Thank you, Nashville, you got put on a great show. For sure. It's Billy Sims. Good Lions. The Detroit Lions twenty nineteen draft pick Jolani Tobuy Brougler Special, Jilani Tovai, the linebacker from Hawaii, is going to be a Detroit Lion. Tell us about to Bay will circle back to Drew Locke. I'll just say I told you July. Out of sight, out of mind. This guy is an inside out player, three down potential, can do everything you

want on the football field. But because he played in Hawaii, had a shoulder injury, there's a lot of concerns. You know, he just wasn't in He wasn't the Senior Bowls. Yeah, right, exactly. So just out of sight, out of mind. No one's talking about him. And I kept pounding the table saying, listen, this guy is good. He's gonna go high. I didn't think he'd go top fifty. I thought he'd go maybe

top sixty, top seventy. But I ain't great for the Lions that got themselves a Hey if you're gonna get a linebacker in this draft, you better go right, you better go now because it thins out pretty quickly. Who's even mac Wilson, Jermaine Pratt? And then you're going, Okay, Cashman, maybe Cony. But but I think that's an interesting pick. I account. I was thinking there's a really good tight end on the board with IRV Smith and I Kount. I was thinking maybe Detroit would go Hawkinson at eight,

you know, early in the first round. And I was like, man, IRF Smith, they want a good tight end. And now we go to the Packers on the board. They went double defense yesterday. Yeah, with questionable picks in my eyes, Rare Shawn Garry and Darniell Savage. One of the old Miss wide receivers makes a lot of centsra They gotta help the quarterback out at some point. Right the old Miss receivers are gonna go undrafted. Maybe no one's gonna pick him. We're just gonna sit here forever. Let's circle

back to Drew Lock. Who wants to hit me with a quick Drew Lock scouting report, Dane Brian, what you thought about that? In him being a Denver Bronco, I think he's a Derek Carr clone um in a lot of ways, Golden Arm. You like to make up, You like the size, like the movements. Just can he be discipline and more consistent with his mechanics which directly affect his accuracy and his ball playsment down the field, and

just keep me so reckless with the football. But I think there's a lot of things that you like that could equal being a starter in this league. It's just and I do think he provides immediate competition for Joe Flacco all of a sudden. I mean, Drew Locke is a four year starter in the SEC. This isn't a guy that he's a sit and wait and develop. Joe Flacco has competition from day one in Denver Flacco Katie to get the Packers now in the clock. This is

a team you follow really really closely. Yeah. Yeah, my family big Packer fans, and I've got some people that I know from up there as well. And I was getting yesterday some one Thornhill buzz on them as well. Now they ended up getting Savage to be their safety some maybe Thornhill's out of the mix. There a lot of needs there. They went and had a big free agency spending spree with pass rushers. We'll see they take care. I wouldn't be surprised if they go offense after two

defensive picks yesterday. Though. Well the Packers, as we talk about though, they well they're making it right now here we go. Let's go to play it moving tonight, and it's gonna be so much fun. It's the easiest team cheer. We need to do it. Go pack, Go go pack, Go pack, Go pack, go go pack, go fantastic. Put the four pick in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Elton Jenkins, guard, Mississippi State. Okay,

so interior line there, now you love. That's a good player. Yeah, he played center last year for him today he did and they introduced him as a guard. And it's funny. It's funny because kat they're really happy with the center there. I mean, the right guard is the issue, the rights issue. Yeah, sing in there for a long time, McCrae. They need interior offensive line up. They'll they'll pump if they like Lindsley. They like Linsley the center, right, Yeah, they're gonna play

Jenkins at guard, I would imagine absolutely. Yeah. So we're on the pick number forty five, which is the La Rams that are on the clock right now. The Cowboys, of course are picking at fifty eight. This is a team a yeah, this is another minefield team. Dave Hellman was on this early. This is a team that could have a defensive tackle or a safety. You know, this is it's actually this is actually about to be a run. Yeah. Where the Rams are looking at d tackles and safeties,

The Colts are looking at safeties. The Panther, well, Seattle's looking at safeties. They now have the Panthers pick. That's three teams right there that might be snatching up players. The Cowboys like and see, this is the point in time of the draft where like a Jerry Jones would ask, okay, Brian or you know who, pro we got it. Now. We got a shot of the war room, Jeff, let me get a little talk about this. That's the war room at the Ford Center. The war room. They don't

look bored. I'll say that. Everybody looks like they're a little engaged in something different, are working on something together. They're not on a phone well, but they're definitely tracking things that are going on. Maybe crunching numbers and doing math and thinking about you see Stephen Jones and Jerry Jones. He's explaining something about what it's like lost. Yeah, what it would cost to maybe get to a spot. Maybe Stephen has a plan. He's laid some chum in the water.

David Hillman before we even did this, laid you the minefield that they have. They're they're they're hunting three techniques, could be looking at the safety there, you know, they just there. There's a lot of guys right now in that war room that are just hoping and praying that their guy gets to them without having to get up give up a pick. But there is a plan in place.

It looks like if that happens. By the way, the Rams have moved the forty fifth pick, it's gonna be the new England Patriots on the clock now, not the Rams and number Okay, Now that is still a minefield yield. That is another team that has been linked to Tristan Hill. If that's their guy, Patriots at forty five, Rams will pick at fifty six and one oh one. Okay, so it cost you an early fourth again not costing you a lot of money to get up with ten picks.

The Cowboys are seeing always ten picks and that's all they gave. I mean, yeah, they bumped up eleven picks. Yeah, sixty five? Yeah, So what what is that tells? Like the value of this draft is bizarre? Okay, so they gave a comp three? Right? Did they give a comp three? It's the second to last pick in the third round. Okay, So New England's coming up from fifty six? Correct, Yes, that is true. One thing when they went threw out and then we're talking about all these guys that the

Patriots could be in on. We know how they liked to cover. The name I threwout last week was Joe One Williams, the cornerback from Vanderbilt's a guy I wouldn't mind the Cowboys taking. I had the Patriots taking him at fifty six. And kind of a mock exercise that I did. I saw in Dane's mock today that he had one Thornhill going at fifty six. So that's kind of interesting. Could this be first safety? Oh, that's just

gonna have some rams, New England. You didn't have them day as any type of minefield position for the Cowboys. I know, what if we're talking about the Cowboys guy Tristan Hill, which is who we think they're target visited, right, He's a guy the Patriots have shown interest in. Whether it's at this pick, I can't tell you. Well, it's getting fun because that war room is buzzing. Chris Hall is just on the phone. Who's to his left, He was on the phone. Will McClay is talking to Stephen Jone. Yeah,

that's Todd Williams out of Pacific. Of those guys are down to the left of Chris Hall. And as they work your way up again, you got Will McClay sitting right there in the middle of all the action. Again, there's a lot of guys that are just holding their breath that you know. It looks like to me they're trying to make a determination if whether they need to

go up like everybody else here. And Stephen Jones is like he is studying something, likely's trade chart to see if he needs to call somebody to make this happen. Seattle at forty seven will do business with you. That's a team at forty seven. They're trying to get as many picks as they can. They'll work with you, but they are also a team in on long cornerbacks safety. A team look for something like that as well. So maybe Miami at forty eight might be a team that

you know you can that's the Rosen pick. Yeah, allegedly, So we'll find out. The Patriots now about to make their selection three times Super Bowl champion Dumte High Tower, good player, very very to the New England Patriots, And with the forty fifth pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Champs select Juy Williams Billie. That was my mock guy. That was my mock guy, and I actually I had him as my forty seventh best player

my board. He goes at forty five, so I actually got one right Land mine strikes as one of the corners that the Cowboys are interested in, or at least linked to and visited with off the board. I bet there's relief in that war room right now, like he might have been a guy they were interested in. But I don't think he's their first option. No, But I know for a fact that there's several Christopher Shard went out to Nashville to work this guy out, and and

you know, he worked out a lot of guys. But I kind of got the vibe throughout that that he was one of those guys that they were they were looking at very strongly if if in things did go the way they thought it was going to go. But good for him that he gets to come to the podium being in that green room too. Stuff. That's nice for him. Yeah, if you guys are interested in how many trades can happen tonight, number forty six will not be the Indianapolis Colts who got that pick from the

Washington Redskins. It will now be the Cleveland and the particulars of that, the Cleveland Browns they're gonna trade pick uh. They go forty nine. They now trade that pick uh, And they also trade a fifth round pick which is one forty four from Jacksonville that they got. So Carlos Hiddeal, Yeah, so forty nine, one forty four, uh now belong to the So in early five moves you up just three spots from forty nine to forty six. So Cleveland targeting

somebody here with the forties. Wonder if this could be one Thornhill getting in front of Seattle. Maybe one thorn Hills, a guy that I know the Browns liked a little bit. Another Minefield team another team that visited with Tristan Hill. They brought the You know Dan said at the top of the show, Drew brill Peppers is a giant. Now it's have we identified Thornhill as the guy they liked the most at safety? Do you think they liked Adderlee Moore? What do you guys think? Oh, I've got that written

on a sheet of paper something. Demarus Randall Thornhill is a guy that they brought in. A know Demarius Randall is it plays the free safety spot for the Browns. He's in the final year of his deal. They could use more help with strong safety. So any type of safety, sure, it's possible here. Well, I was even asking about the Cowboys though, who they preferred safety out of Adderlie Thornhill. I wonder that one is what I wonder about. Did they not show interest or visit with him because they

didn't think he would make it? That is fascinating. Did they not have him on the visit list for a different reason? Is there something about him that they weren't interested?

Because they brought in pretty much all the safeties in this range, pretty much all of them except adder which, so again combine right the league is showing that their thought process is not always line up with ours, because sure Adderley was widely regarded as if not a first round pick, then top thirty five, which if I'm the Cowboys,

why am I bothering with that guy? But maybe they change their tune if he's still sitting here in a couple more picks, So we're waiting to see what the Cleveland pick is going to be there, and then we will have the Seattle Seahawks, then the Miami Dolphins. The Cleveland Browns pick is in, so we are just waiting to see which player is going to show up on stage and who he's going to announce that Cleveland is selecting, and we will continue to track as Cowboy targets are

now getting hit with sniper rounds. Well, that is not how to actually go. They're coming off of our board. It's a little dramatic. They're coming off of our board as we walk through the proverbial minefield that is the picks in the second round. So we're just waiting to see who this Cleveland pick is going to be, and

then we will keep it rolling as everyone's trading. Yeah, I think you should go to break on the fan right now and coming up next, we should discuss if brought us wants to move up into into this range and make a move here. It sounds like a great tease. We'll do that right here on the Fight for you. But we're staying here on Dallas Cowboys dot Com. Yeah, we are staying here. John Dorsey not wearing his traditional

Cleveland brown sweater or sweatshirt. Um. This is a team that we talked about earlier, the Minefield team that that actually did bring in I remember you tell me this at forty nine day when we were talking about it. Cleveland did bring in Tristan Hill. So we'll see if in fact that they're moving up to kind of protect themselves here to see if that they can to get this uh, get this player. I was looking at Dave. You have Cleveland's needs right there in front of you. Sure, Handy.

Uh we're talking defensive tackle was one of them right the line slash d tackle? Linebacker? Oh line safety? Okay Dorsey, would he take polite too early? For polite? That's where I haven't going on the third Okay, So so yeah, just something on my mind here. You haven't you had polite in the third to the Browns and the third Dorsey took a troubled Florida prospect last year in the

fourth maybe doing the third year. Well, it looks like the Brown selection is in the and then the great Jim Brown walking to the podium, and he will get there and make this foot let's go to the chart was still a bad man. Thank you very much. We're

very gracious. I love it from my heart. Thank you. Yeah, an have the Coats have traded the forty six pilip for the Cleveland Brown with the fourtiest six fix and two thousand thirteen NFL draft, the Cleveland bounce elect Greedy william Let's go John Tors will take care of the mills, you guys, Lsu North up in Berea, Ohio. How about that got Odell Beckham, You got Jarvis Landry, throw in Andre's Greedy Williams. Why the hell not for a team that didn't have a first round pick. Nice job by

the Browns. Here to land Greedy william which and cornerback is not listed as a big need. But a guy that was widely thought of as a first round pick falling to forty six maybe changes your your life, Like cornered you're our Brown's whisper. They drafted Denzel Ward uh within the top five pick last year, and they don't have anybody opposite him that you really can rely on.

So I think that Denzel Ward, greedy Greedy Williams here as a great one two punch for the for the Brown the corner well, and also trading to get ahead of Seattle, because Seattle's a team we've talked about who might be interested in corners. We've seen them, you know, attached to a lot of names. So trading to get in front of them, that's pretty interesting. Now you get Seattle on o'clock because we mentioned a minute ago, a team who probably willing to do a little business in

terms of making trades and moving back. Although it appears their pick is in, so they'll be selecting someone. I don't know how often in the NFL. Now you have a corner who you just say, hey, go cover that guy. But with Greedy Williams, doesn't that seem like a really good idea? Kay, he's yours. Go do that however you'd like to do. You worry about him getting bullied, yea one hundred eighty five pounds. He's a small guy. He's raal thin. He's six one eighty five pounds, and you

do have to worry about that. He doesn't have the play strength you want. I mean, he was one of a handful of guys that had singled digit bench bench press reps to twenty five. You know it shows on and off the field. But you know he has let us in the hold up. He has the length to hold up to Seattle, not wasting any time. It's nice that John Snyder wants to join us in this draft. So we got guys. Got a green room guy here, huh. Now they took LJ. Collier last night. Again, we thought

we would see him go on last night. I don't know my players say, am I a bad person? If this mine? That's what I thought they and they need offensive line help in the middle. I was thinking coming down the hall before they've announced the selection. Oh, they're replay on the TV last trick. Wow, I feel like an idiot. I was wondering where they were. They had some good b roll of the Cody Ford pick from ten picks ago. So the Seattle pick is up at

forty seven. They tried to trick us there a little bit. We didn't try anything. We all is that happening now? It was he in the john or something. Maybe well maybe he wasn't at the green room. You know that happened last year or maybe two years ago. A guy was like, Cody was in the restroom. He'd like to come to the stage and do the hug thing. So we're come out. Two years ago a guy was like, screw this, and then they picked him and he came across town to be part of it. All right, we're

getting ready to come back on radio. So Dallas Cowboys dot Com. People watch us, pretend that we weren't here the whole time. Just know that you know the secret. Welcome back, second round of the NFL Draft. We are here with you. It is the forty seventh pick of the draft the Seattle Seahawks. The pick is in. We're waiting to see who it is. As the Dallas Cowboys holding strong at fifty eight, but that war room has seen action. We're waiting to see who it's going to

be for Seattle Cowboys. Just over ten picks away. Jeff cabin On, Dane Brugler, Brian brought Us, Kevin Turner, Dave Helmont. We will be with you for every pick of the NFL draft, and we are just getting started, but we're should our Cowboy targets, absolutely, and we want to thank our folks, our friends at miller Lyte who have brought us this opportunity today again Miller Lyte the only beer of the Cowboys and the only beer of Jeff cabin Off for sure. Yeah, well, we get a camera that

shows my back. They've got a really nice billboard. There's a Miller Lte can about the size of my entire back on the back of the shirt. It's lovely. So you're right there, Jeff. They are in the war room at the Ford Center, and it looks like ut stake. They're committed to just stay in and seeing what happens. A lot. So I don't think they're committed to staying and seeing what happens, because I'm seeing a lot of Stephen Jones on the phone. Jerry was on the phone

a little while ago. I've seen Will McClay on the phone. It's showing each other things. It's calmed down a little bit. In the last five minute. Stephen Jones is on the phone. He's look at this trade charts, for sure. So I mean someone's trying to see would you agree with me that five ten minutes ago it was like frenetic almost there were people moving around, Jason Garretts in a tizzy.

It seems like it's at least calmed down. I'm I am curious that the fact that Stephen Jones is making phone calls is this is not a room that is expecting to wait another ten picks. I don't think it doesn't look like I guess Stephen and Jerry the Seahawks pick is coming in. I want to be real quick though. The Josh Rosentrade is still hanging in the balance. Yeah, it's the Saints and now here's the team. The picks

in for Seattle. See see see. The NFL is proud to support Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital and it's fight to end childhood cancer. Calm down, fools, Calm down. This year, the NFL, NFL Network and Rich Eyes and raised more than a half a million dollars to benefit Saint Jus Well Dumb Rich and now Seattle's pick. It's Saint Jude. Patient Owen Ohen started treatment for blood cancer when he was four years old, and through the groundbreaking researcher shape

of Saint Jude. He's now cancer free at thirteen. That's what we're talking about right there. Oh and are you ready, oh, Sigary. With the forty seventh pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select Marquise Blair bbuta, So that'll be the Seattle Seahawks taking a safety. But it's Marquise Blair out of Utah. Dane scouting report on Marquise Blair. Does it feel a little early? It does, especially ahead of some of these other safeties. He was like Penny

last year. Yeah, he did a little bit of everything for the ut defense. He moved up to do this. Yeah, he'll play single high, he'll play you know, the man him up against tight end. They'll play him as kind of like an overhang lineback, or do a little bit of everything with him. Hey, he's not afraid to come hit you. But in terms of coverage, it's a little choppy and kind of struggle with spacing. So don't love the pick here, especially again with one Thornhill's still there,

Taylor Raps still here. A lot of these safeties. Marky's Blair good for him. Second round pick, Saints have traded up to the Dolphins pick at forty eight. The Saints now at forty eight and one sixteen, the Dolphins back to sixty two now, So if the Josh Rosen conversations want to start Arizona, Hell, how about pick sixty two. That's kind of where they're at now. I love the Dolphins commitment to just They're like, hey, we're gonna suck, We're gonna get some picks for it. So they're going Browns.

I dig it. Well, this is the first time I can remember where they can stare the Cardinals down to be like, where else are you gonna move him? No one needs a quarterback? Good point, we're the only ones you got, all right? The New Orleans Saints. That pick is in and we're approaching the podium here for the eights at forty eight, pick a receiver Saints from Bloomsburg University two thousand and six fourth round pick, six times Pro bowler and the Super Bowl forty four champion Jr. Right,

great to be here. There's been a trade. The Miami Dolphins has trade with the forty eighth pick. So the New Orleans Saints, who that nation? Welcome? Who we got darned. With the forty eighth pick in the two thousand nineteen draft, the New Orleans Saints select Eric McCoy center, Texas A and l there we go. That's a guy that's towards the top of our board. That is that is a pretty darn good center. You don't believe me, Turn on the Alabama tape and watch McCoy battle against Quinnon Williams

and his crew. That's a pretty good player right there, Texas A and m center going to the Saints at forty eight. New Orleans used a second rounder next year. Yeah, to go up and make sure they got him. So they paid a little bit of a heavy price they did. But I mean, how many y'all would agree he's a plug in place starter? Yes, yeah, yeah, absolutely. You lose Max Hunger to retirement a couple of weeks ago, plug plug a guy that's capable of taking his place right away.

That's that's not a bad deal. That is big though. Two twos for a two is what they just did, right. Yeah, they're late too, and then next well, next year's too. I'm sure they assume it's going to be very late. They also gave us sixth and they got back a fourth. Yeah, so kind of a way to sweeten it, sweeten the pot a little bit. That's not bad. So Eric McCoy Texas A and M Center is going to be a

New Orleans Saint. And that puts the Indianapolis Colts on the clock at number forty nine as we're inching closer to a Cowboy pick, which may or may not be at fifty eight. I don't think Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have stopped comparing notes and doing math next to each other for the last ten or fifteen minutes. They're having a lot of conversations here. What are you thinking brought us like in terms of you know, what's going on in the war room right now, you've been there

and live that. What I have and this is we actually did some two thousand and five with Marcus Spears, and you're just you know, there's teams in front of you know that they need, uh, defensive players, defensive ends. Erasmus James was one of those guys, uh, you know, Michael Pollock, you know from Georgia at one time, you know, went right ahead of us and then we were able

to take Spears. So yeah, you know it's I'm just looking for commitment here, and if if they were committed just to sitting, I don't think we would see as much discussion as we have right now. Now. Maybe they're in a situation too where they can't find somebody to trade with. And that's a little bit of a of a disconcerting thing to think about right there, because David laid it out for you earlier, the mind fields that you're going to have to go through, uh to to

kind of get that player. I do think, yeah, I think they're they're holding. You know, there's some teams that are still ahead of them. Uh that uh you know the again, the Philadelphia Eagles or a team you have to think about. The Rams were a team that we had talked about earlier and then and excumeing Philadelphia twice and so yeah, Minnesota, yeah coming up next. Yeah, yeah, this is j Metcalf and AJ Brown are on the board at forty nine with the Colts on the clock.

That's sounds smart. Can they go that way by one of these wide receivers? What do you love? AJ Brown? Is your twenty twenty starting? He might he might start now over Cob Now, I mean, do what you love A J. Brown and Michael will Gallup and Namari Cooper. I'm gonna, I'm gonna it's gonna be very very interesting if we get to fifty eight and A. J. Brown and DK Metcalf are still on the board. I know you might have a plan for what you're gonna do,

but I don't think you planned for that. I'm Brown fits what you would want to do here more than Metcalf does. I'm a big fan of having a receiver run straight and just throwing it as high as you can and see what happens. DK is fun. That part of the reason why Dez is gone. You're not You're not gonna finding a bigger Dak fan than me. But I don't know if that's dacks thing. Well, let's don't know if that's what you want for Dak Prescott. What

do you think about the Colts though? I mean they do if it's Mattie Burfluss, they play similar scheme to what the Cowboys. A single high hooker is your free safety, right, Rap? Yeah? You know, can you get a thumper? Yeah? This is where this is where to me? You know, a guy like Rap makes a heck of a lot of sense. Again, this is nothing. I'm just I'm just saying, Matt Eberflus, if they want to play single high and you put Taylor Rap down there in that box, he's gonna make tackles,

He's gonna be physical. You know, those are the things you kind of look for. And that's a team that we've talked about. They've got a real true free safety. Yeah, if they could get somebody to play down for them, I mean, that makes a lot of sense. Form if they make this pick right now, I wouldn't forgive Eberflus if he did that. Well, I'm gonna say, Matt Eberflus shut this team out at last December, so he probably

knows a thing or two about good defenders. Find a guess, go ahead and snatch one that the Cowboys would probably love to pick at fifty. It's a cult a team. I'm sorry, David. Are they a team that needs a runner? The Indianapolis Colts. I think they're really happy with they Mac Yeah. Mac Okay can say well, yeah, cornerback, safety, d end and receiver. If if it's not a safety, then I mean, Jeff, it's cheerleading for these old mis receivers and I don't blame him. I also don't think

they've necessarily viewed Mac as their bell cow guy. I think they like him. I think they know It reminds me a lot of the Cowboys, which is like, yeah, we could stand to get a running back, but how high a resource do we want to use on? Or if they were to go running back, or the next team that goes running back, who is the next running back? It's Sanders from pit State, Miles Sanders. Damien Harris. All right, looks like Reggie Wayne is back at the podium. What's

he gonna say this time we strike? We're good, all right, because I got clips, I got he all right? But uh you say that night? Yeah, Danapolis coach select Lee cow guy. The Cowboys likes early that. It feels quite early for a guy that you know, TCU win a bitch, he had a Yeah, he had a great combine. Somebody's gonna try to turn that athleticism into a really good football player. But Dane, how close is he to be in a finished product or how far away? Yeah? That's it.

I mean, I don't I don't see a power player. I worry about the play strength. But this is all about the athleticism, and look, this is the guy started his career at Louisiana. Monroe transferred to TCU the last two years, so we started three years at the at the college level. Each year he had over fourteen tackles for loss. Each year he was productive with sack. So

he has the production. And then you factor in at six three and a half two fifty thirty four inch arms four six two and the forty jumped ridiculous forty in the verse eleven two and abroad, So the workout numbers the athletic testing. He's just he's an inconsistent point of attack player. But at the same time, when you can move like that, you're gonna be a nickel rusher and then you hope that you can develop in the more.

But pass rush is so important the league. Now, yeah, how you defend the pass is more important than how you defend the run. So if that's your weakness defending the run the point of attack, I think teams will teams are willing to live with that. I'm still shocked at that Edgy Reggie Wayne joke, given the history of Marvin Harrison and that organization, that was a little a little much there, little edgy. Sometimes it's an accident. You're trying to make a joke. Are you seeing the room?

Said the sniper. Yeah, that is true. There's a lot of that. There's a lot of activity going on in this at the war room here, it's involved now at the Ford Center. So yeah, they're they're trying to find a spot. Who was in the back. That's what I always said, Jerry there the back, but even further back it looks like probably dignitaries. Yeah, sometimes it's actually I thought that was Jim Maller. It is not. I was going to be fascinated if it will Jim, Yeah, Jim's

at a table. The trainers are a table. Yeah we will. M clay just pulled off a great technique. He was standing up for a minute, kind of did the backstretch one time before sitting back down. I call that the last stand. Okay, you stand it because you settle in and you're really about to get get something going. Well, they're not hone in and let's get the business fifty because that pick is in for the Viking. Well, Jerry Junior that he had along that like eleven by seventeen

sheet he has, that's their trade chart. In their hands. So he was over there trying to try to talk about what was going on. Been much of the last twenty minutes on the phone, and so they're all talking about going somewhere. They're talking about jumping somebody to go get a player, is what it looks like. So we're waiting on the fiftieth pick from Minnesota. But we've got a lot of activity in the Cowboys war room right now, a lot. Yeah, they're trying to again, it's trying to

find a spot and what makes the most sense. And Steven has obviously laid some chum in the water here and he's trying to figure out, okay, where where can we land, where we might make this if if if teams are trying to hold him up, and we've seen really all night, teams really aren't holding yet. You know

you can you can get some bargains here. So we'll see if in fact that that Steven and them were trying to play a little hardball with these guys, and uh, we'll But it looks like the vikings are I'm gonna come to the podiums. This stylish fellow is I believe that's Alan Page and Pro Football Hall of famer Calash who was one of the two roughly fiftieth picked into two thousand and ninteenth NFL Draft, the Mini turna vatkans selec Er Smith Zaragos, Alabama tight end as a fifty

overall player. Uh, Dane, did you think that TCU was going to have two players selected before IRV Smith went off the board from Alabama? Yeah? Uh, mocked it that way. That's the way. Yeah, no good spot here. We thought that maybe Minnesota could go with one of the Iowa tight ends in the first Uh, if the right offensive line wasn't there for him, they get the right offensive lineman and Garrett Bradbury and here they get the what most people believe to be the third best tight end

in the draft. Or Smith also one of the youngest players in the draft, doesn't turn twenty one years old until August, but could do a little bit of everything, and he was at his best where catching go routes. You get the ball in his hands, let me create after the catch, a lot of yards after the catch. On his tape watching right now on the screen, he does a nice job at the ball in his hands. Under sixty three didn't run a blazing forty. But you just watch him play and he's just a good tight end.

It's just you know, he's not six four, he's not six five, he's not running a four to five. But he'll block a little bit. You can move him around a little bit, kind of use him as a mismatch toy ierf Smith can play. And if Smith is going to be a Minnesota vice is looking at where the Cowboys are eight picks away, the guys there that you that we think they could like. Where it's Tristan Hill, whether it's one Thornhill, Taylor, Rapnessier, Adderley, and who knows

who else. I'm glad. I'm glad you said that last name. Though. That's the question that I keep asking myself, is is a guy gonna fall that's going to force them to change their tune? Again? Is Naser Adderley that guy? Is that possible? Me? Again? A guy so many people had as a first round safety. I don't really buy it. I think the Cowboys have their game plan and are

going to stick to it. But that is a name that I have circled just that you know, if you would I would have bet I would have bet fifty bucks at the start of this draft that he would be long gone by now, and he's sitting there. So my point is though, at fifty eight, seven picks away, you got four or five guys I just named off the top of my head. They right, you sit now. I do want to throw this out there. The Miami pick at sixty two. They have one first next year,

and then they have two picks in each round. They have thirteen picks next year. The Josh Rosen trade is gonna happen tonight, and they're just gonna sweeten it up with these bad picks from from next year. I bet the Josh Rosen picks gonna happen soon. Well. The picks in for the Tennessee Titans at two fifty one, so this is a team, David. I didn't have anything for the Titans as far as messing with the Cowboys anyway. Titans safeties listed as a need. They didn't visit any

of the big guys. Okay, well, maybe what have they done so far? Well, they took drafted jeff Jeffrey Simmons. Jeffrey Simmons, Yeah, okay, any need for j Jalen Ferguson was a visit there and a couple tight ends. That's about all I got. Okay, let's take a break on the radio side here on one five three the Fan. We will be right back to get the Tennessee Titans pick at number fifty one and maybe Cowboys, maybe take

you all the way to the Cowboys pick. It is the twenty nineteen draft on one h five three the Fan, and we brought you back with the Internet side of things. So the Cowboys. We've been talking about this. You know, the war room at the Ford Center has really been a buzz of activity, a lot of studying charts trying to find that spot to get to. We've kind of documented throughout this draft that it has been very easy to move around the board. It has not cost you

much to do that. So we're going to the podium here and we're gonna get the Tennessee Titans pick Hell Offensive Rookie of the Year, four times Global Learned, Local Legend, Eddie Joint tighten ups definitely here in spirit Steve McNair were honored to have here the family of fallen here Lieutenant William Gilbert from Tennessee. We salute Navy Lieutenant William Gilbert and thank his family and the trashed the Assistant Program for Survivors TAPS, which offers care to those grieving

the loss of a military loved one. And here announcing the pick is the Gilbert family. Was it fifty first pick in the two nineteen NFL Draft, the Tennessee tie and select a J. Brown wide receiver A J. Brown. Well, Bob dake it fantastic value. It picked fifty one A J. Brown. I was telling you know, if I'm one of those nerds, the fantasy football nerds, you know, I'd say this, if you're like in an old rookie league, there's your guy.

I mean, I think he's the guy who steps in and could immediately, if put in the right spot, sixty seventy eighty balls immediately because the things that he does to find a way and get open and catch everything that you put in his area, He's gonna come down with it. I love A J. Brown, man. I think that's an awesome pick. Went ahead of his teammate there the DK METCAF Jeff. You you watched him as well, and you've you've had a lot of positive things to

say about him. He was one of the guys that it took me a while to actually come around on him, because at first I didn't like that he just didn't look like a really twitchy, explosive move Routes and stuff too, like that, right the routes. I think the more that you watch him, the more you can appreciate that he's just such a natural catcher of the ball. The contact doesn't bother him. He's hard to tackle after the catch. I just think there's so much about him there over

the middle. Yeah, without being elite as an athlete or a great separator. He's just he's just he's gonna catch it and then he's gonna break tackles. It's kind of like Kat you were saying earlier about like a Jarvis Landry kind of guy. Yeah, where there's something that really stands out, except he's just good at football. Dirty work guy. Yeah, you know, And and that sounds like I'm talking about just a try hard. He's not a try hard guy.

He is gonna be productive. I mean I think he for years in the NFL catch seventy five eight ninety balls. Cincinnati is on the clock right now at two fifty two. This is a pick they got from the Denver Broncos. I believe that's it's I got so many things. Denver from Pittsburgh, A rare Bengals exactly, Bengals shight here again, they're not one of the minefield teams that were worried about.

Here they are at fifty two. Uh. There after that, though, this is where it gets a little interesting, because then you got Philadelphia, Houston, Houston, and then the Rams. And we've identified Philadelphia and the Rams as two of your minefield teams. Bengals are at the podium. Let's go there three times. Bengals Man of the Year, Willie Anderson. Who who the h hold with the new Days? Okay, now,

what's up everybody? Back home and mobile? I'll about mother home of the Senior Bowl, the forty second Pig, the two thousan nineteen NFL Draft, the kind of being select Drew Sample tight end Washington Cruce Samples. I mean the Cowboys really liked I liked Drew Sample. Not that I think I locked him in. I mocked him in the fourth round here, I think I liked him. The values on these players is all over the board this year. All right, we'll can go back to the fan here.

It feels like there's no difference in some of these teams minds between like forty and one hundred. Yeah, here we go, Radio, welcome back. We're at pick fifty two in the NFL Draft, in the second round here and it's tight end Drew Sample from the University of Washington going to the Bengals. I thought that we as a group really liked Drew Sample when we were talking about him as a potential fourth round or so target. Apparently we didn't like him as much as the Bengals did. Yeah,

I thought we liked him. That's liking him. So the Bengals are the locked Sample oh to Dallas. Yeah, I would have loved him as a mid round sort of player. But where I want to bring everybody's attention is we are now on to pick fifty three, and that's the Philadelphia Eagles the Cowboys. You're at fifty eight, and if you want to talk about safeties, Taylor Rapp is on the board. Adderaly from Delaware is on the board, Chauncey Gardner Johnson from Florida is on the board, and one

Thornhill is on the board. You've got four of the safeties that they've shown interest in, and visit well, Adderly, we don't know, but at least three that they've shown interest and visited with, and you're only five picks away, and at least two of those safeties the Eagles have shown interest in as well. They brought Chauncey Gardner, Johnson and wan Thornhill in. It might be a similar case where picking fifty third they maybe never thought Taylor rapp

Or or Nasir Adelie would even be there. They certainly didn't hesitate in making their pick. It's already in. Yeah, and let's go we again. We're at the looking into the war room at the at the Ford Center. Stephen Jones is on the phone. He's working off his charts right there to try and at this point, at this point, what's the point, right, they might be they go back. They might be going back now, they might they might

be going back player, Yeah, exactly. We think I wouldn't hate going back at all, especially if they like Tristan Hill as well, they like Jalen Ferguson as well. We've got safeties on safeties. We've got Justin Lane in the corner. We've got ste It corner that I like. We've got Sternbergers on the board. Dawson Knox, Kale Warring or are tight ends on the board. I wouldn't hate them. I

wouldn't hate to move back at all. Yeah, and you know this is a team that kind of you know, we talked about the maybe looking at a situation where they have a very top heavy salary cap situations and they draft really well and that they'll find some middle class that could play. Tuesday night, when we tried to mock this thing, we got wiped out. And now you're staring at the situation here. There's too many options. Yeah, Eagles on the clock at fifty three. I've got Van Dane.

I saw him and putting asira aderlie to them and is mocked today, Right makes sense. I think running back could make sense for them. They went and got Andre Dillard yesterday, chaded up to get him. I don't you know. For me, I'm not a guy who's trying to get second round running back for the Eagles. If they wanted to go take Damien Harris right now and trying to make him their feature back, I'd be all aboard that train.

As a Cowboys fan, yeah, you know, and the Cowboys were one of those teams and I think the Eagles take a little pride. They always like to think like they traded ahead of Dallas, or got ahead of Dallas, or positioned themselves so they can get a player that Dallas wanted. Yeah, you know again, they've got two picks in this thing right ahead of them, and I think the Cowboys, yeah, I don't think they want to lose

their guy. But to me, it seems like that they might be in a mode to back up and grab grab some more picks, maybe grab an extra picking or in the third round. But then again, we haven't seen the value, you know, the value of people coming up and giving a lot of stuff to make this happen. So they might be very content though, just to sit there and make their pick as well. A little surprise that DK Metcalf is still on the board. You didn't see Drew Sample going ahead of DK Metcalf. No, I

didn't go ahead of DK Metcalf. Everybody said that the Iowa guys and um IRV Smith where the top three. Did anybody think Sample would be the next tight end off the board? No, that is surprising, but it was my seventh tight end, and I thought I liked him more than everybody else. I know. There were some teams that liked him in the third round. I did not see him going with fifty two overall. That's a surprise.

I do know some teams thought of enough of him to take him, possibly take him in the third round, but that was pretty high. That was a bit of a surprise. The Bengals must have thought there's no way they could wait another round. I'm looking at the board of of things that the Eagles might might do, and we've talked about all these secondary guys. I do feel like running backs a good spot for them. My next running back is Miles Sanders. Yeah, right, like that. From

the perspective of having it, I did forget. I did forget that they did trade for Jordan Howard. Ye believe he's got one year on his deal. Yeah, Eagles pick is at the podium. I quick, Hey, Philadelphia Eagles fans, I know you're out there. Not really. With the fifty third pig and the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Miles Sanders. Oh God, I love. I knew they were gonna go runner, dude. I knew they were gonna go runner, and I did not want that

to be the runner. They Took. I think Miles Sanders tape is really really good. Fumbles a lot, good point some we're gonna have to fix. Listen. I can go full Tarper on a guy at any time, but I can say, listen, new rule or hold it like this and we're gonna fix that. The way he runs the ball, I love it. I'm gonna quick Miles Sanders scouting report for you guys. Just think, but it's gonna be more

in the form of a crystal ball. Maybe it's the twenty twenty season Week seventeen Cowboys Eagles fighting for the NFC's championship. Miles Sanders fumbles late in the fourth quarter to fumble away a victory. Cowboys recover go on to win the NFC East. Miles Sanders, I do love him, though, I just think there's uh some running backs when you watch their tape, the fee seemed to be in sync more than others like him. I feel like his ability to just kind of slide through holes. It's like he's there.

There's an explosion and a decisiveness and a quickness to him hitting holes and going. It's not say Kwon Barkley, but he'll break some tackles. He'll make some guys miss. I'm a big Miles Sanders fan. If he stops fumbling, I think he's gonna be real good. We talked last night about the NFC East kind of hitting the reset

button on quarterback. You got Daniel Jones and Haskins joining Carson, Wentzon dak Well, you obviously have Zeke, then you got now you have Barkley, you're getting Geiss and now Miles Sanders. Nice used to Chexans now going to the podium with the fifty fourth pick in the two thy nineteen NFL draft, the Houston Sasans. So like Lennie Johnson dB, they'll get one of those long corners out of there for some people that sorry, one of the long corners out of there.

Sorry you missed my button there. Um, I know there's some people that thought he could go somewhere around this range. I didn't have him there, but Dane, where did you see Lonnie Johnson, six foot two corner out of Kentucky going fourth round? Uh? No, I mean we expected him to go this high. I had a fourth round grade. I don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get why they people liked him because he's big and he can run, but everything else is kind of working progress. The ball, skills,

the instincts. Uh, it's just a really talented lump of clay, and so there's a lot you can do with that. A little surprised that it's Lonnie Johnson and not Isaiah Johnson R. But uh, you know, for a lot of those reasons we just said, not too much surprised that he's going this high. He's a lot of things that you can't teach, just needs some time. That's an inconsistent player, Like sometimes he'd want to tackle, sometimes he wouldn't. He

didn't see the route anticipation either. So you know, Okay, I look at the body. I feel like I can do something with it. But man, second round that seems a little early for me. I had a fifth round grade on him. So if you're the Dallas Cowboys, who we're now at the we're at the fifty fifth pick again, this is Houston's gonna be back on the clock. Not a lot of urgency and no, they're they're gonna sit

there and gonna ride this. And they're gonna sit there and ride and in all likelihood they're gonna get the guy that they're gonna get a choice of the guy they want. And we talked about Hill, we talked about Thornhill, We've talked about Rap, We've talked about a lot of guys here, and it looks like that they're gonna have the opportunity to pick that. We'll see which one of those guys they had higher in on their stack as we get to this, uh, this pick this has worked out.

I don't think it can work out any better for them right now. There was a lot of moving around trying to get things done, maybe working the phone a little bit. But it looks like we are we setting sale on the idea of a trade back. Well, they just chumped on the phone. They just chump on the phone. Yeah, and I you know again, they look very calm about just sitting there. And so maybe Stephen Jones is going to entertain some opportunity to go back here. You remember

a time in recent memory when they went back. I know they've gone up a few times. They went up for Xavier Woods, they went up for DeMarcus Lawrence. It wouldn't they went back for Travis Frederick. That was a long time ago, yeah, seven years ago. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, it wouldn't be a bad year to go back a year that you've only got six picks in the entire draft, were who might So they're trading away from a great

player here. I don't want great, but if Dancalf pans out, I'm not a fan of trading back here because we're seeing home you were talking about being aggressive, we're saying how unpredictable it is right now with these players coming off the board. I mean, why trade away from a player that you like? And why I just take Taylor Rap? I would sit there, That's what I'm saying, want thorn Hill, I mean, take take the player you want here instead of going back and then taking whoever's left of a

handful of guys. Take your guy that you want for this team. Who's the guy that you want that's on the board right now? Minds Taylor Rap guy that I want? Rapp guy? Isn't it me or them? You? I would take Rap? I think Raps a better fit for you want to do. And here's the Houston picking fifty five. Here we go back to Houston, NFL. The Houston Texans Sole Max shopping tackle Northern Illinois. Wow, something all right?

Little small school tackle action there with Max SHARPUS League right, going to the Houston Texans at fifty five, which means seven fifty eight. We have two more picks before the Dallas Cowboys are going to be on the clock, and the Dallas Cowboys when they're on the clock, are going to have between these players, some of them are gonna be there, Nasiere, Adderley, Taylor, rapp One, Thornhill, Chauncey Gardner, Johnson, DK Metcalf, Jichai Polite, Mac Wilson. They're not gonna take

a linebacker. You got players. You've got Justin Lane's Justin Lane. You've got corner options, you've got safety options, and Dk metcalfs there. If you were picking at fifty eight giving the rams, wouldn't you already be on the phone with the play Yeah? No, because the teams themselves are at least a pick or two ahead of what you're seeing on TV. So so they moved back, right, It's just I'm speculating, Yeah it would. If they were moving back,

wouldn't they be on the phone right now? Yeah? They're, but they're I think they're talking about right now. They're they're exactly they're doing exactly what we're doing here, you know, that it is, and Stephen Jones he just threw his hands out like, hey, let's go let's just take that guy. This goes back to it. So I asked this earlier, like again natterly, not really a guy we've talked about for this team, because we didn't really think it was possible,

Like I wonder we might have overrated him. Maybe we did. Maybe we're overrated. Is there a guy available that is is there a guy available that is changing the conversation? We could have a consensus guy. If we don't have a consensus guy, then let's go back. But see, let's go back. But do they have a consensus guy? And is it? I think they're struggling with it right now. I think they're struggling with They're looking at that board and they're looking at that said Kansas City's now come up, Uh,

this is a pick that this was the Rams. Yeah, the Rams were on the clock. Rams do not want to pick tonight, it sure don't. Chiefs. Corner might be might be losing a wide receiver. To keep that in mind as well. Right in the light of last night, I'd say, corner or receiver E is that justin lane? Who are your top corners. I'd have justin Lane Julia Love also like David Long, Kansas City gives up sixty one, and they give up one sixty seven and then a

and a second round, second round, pick one. I'm sorry, that's right, fifty six fifty six. Now the Rams get why did they give up one sixty seven? Yes? Yes, yes they're fifth. They're fifth. Okay, So in other words, the cost for Dallas is a fifth if you want to move up right now exactly. But they don't need You don't need to move up. You don't need to move up at all. Kansas City felt like they did. So Kansas City is going up. They're gonna pick here

at number fifty six. I'm gonna update my little chart here cornerbacks and wide receivers, DK Metcalf, is there hell of a bargain? It would make six. I think it would make sense to go up for Metcalf at this point. Right if you want a receiver, do you feel like Metcalf and Pat Mahomes is a good fit. It sounds like a lot of fun to me. Two superheroes right there. Hey, go run a four or three down the field, you monster and Pat might throw it once you're seventy yards

down there. That would certainly make some sense if they want to go at the high upside talent like that. Look, I have a lot of questions about Metcalf, but I'm shocked he's still on the board here this late. Yeah, me too. I think I've updated my profile of my ideal receiver. My ideal receiver is now six foot tall and he's one hundred ninety five pounds, and he runs good routes. But it's not I don't know. The next time I'm gonna turn on, I'd say, hey, there's Megatron. Yeah.

I think teams are scared of his ability not to turn Yeah, I think they're scared of this movement. I really do. The second I'm gonna says we can't, but we're gonna make a living off stop slants and go route. What's going great? You know, I said, that's not Dax game. It's definitely Pat Mahomes game, isn't it Isn't that what Tyreek Hill did for two years? Well, and that's can run under bombs. To me, DK Metcalf is an oversized heed gin. That that's what he is. He gets vertical.

He's not a guy who's gonna help you on this, you know, as a route runner, but he can get upon the defense and because of his size, he can overpower and box out defenders you know where. He sounds like he could succeed in an offense with a freaking howitzer armed quarterback who has escapability, who doesn't mind throwing it down there. Yeah, I'm all in on that if I'm the Chiefs. I just following like a couple of Eagles writers on Twitter, and a couple of them say

expect the Eagles to go safety at fifty seven. So that's okay. Even if they do, it'll be one out of about four. They're not allowed to pick four safeties at fifty seven. They're just gonna narrow down the field. But it's like we forgot that Triston Hill and Jalen Ferguson exist all of a sudden. I haven't forgotten. If I had to bet right now, I still think it'll

be he. Cowboy's fans are gonna be shocked if they go Triston Hill over sitting in a situation realistic, those guys are there, and they might still go with their pass rusher. Again, We've talked to Best all along they what they want to do, we want to do to not care what tying to tell Jeff that as long as I've known, they shouldn't care what we want to do. But I'm also entitled to want to do what i

want to do for five months. As you can see, that's the third round and that's where Tristan Hill is and this is the second round where these guys are yeah, it's that easy. Well, they obviously think it's gonna be really different though, so I think the look that yeah real quick on air producing Jeff looking at the clock.

I don't want to leave because we're so close, But you tell me, Chiefs are on the podium real quick if you want, We're gonna take the podium real quick, and then we're gonna take a break and be back to get to the Cowboy. Hey, Chiefs Nation, we have been knocking on that door a long time. Still, I feel like I am now making the pick for the two thousand and twenty Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

We'll do it, yes, save it for Arrowhead. Low fousless Rams have traded the pickty sixth pick to the Kansas City Chiefs with the fifty sixth pick and the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs have select it meet Cole Hardman. Oh yeah, we go. We picked the fake Tyreek Hill, Tyreek Hill. They didn't do the poor man's Tyrek Hill. Oh God, absolutely love and one it at ninety. But that is a perfect fit for that team. My first fake pin throw of the night.

Holy cow. They just went ahead and said, all right, we see what's going on. We'll just replace you with the other version of you. I'm so sad that the guy who doesn't run routes won't be there for the Cowboys to pick one five three. The fan will will be right back. Pick fifty seven is up, then it's the Cowboys and we'll be back for it. One five

three the fan. Oh I love McCall Hardman. While we were talking about metcalf, I was that close to being like, well, hey, just take hard if you want to replace Tyreek Hill. Makes sense, Yeah, okay, you know what Hardman. Hardman is a great for them, because again they have Mahomes. I would not like it here. I don't think it would have been good here. I'm happy. I'm happy. I don't

have to worry about it. To be perfectly honest with you, man, this is uh, this is interesting now because Philadelphia, whatever they're gonna do, and you're sitting here and going I wish I knew I had it. I wish I had to narrowed down to who are the guys that they like, like really like. Well, if they take the safety, if they take a safety, it shouldn't affect the Cowboys at all. Nope,

they really shouldn't. Yeah, because it I have a feeling if they if they go ahead and take the Virginia safety, if they take him, that means the Cowboys is gonna take Hill for sure. I mean I think I think he'll think they're out on rap. I think they're I think they're out on rap. I really do. I think they're out now they might show the way this is going is rap and not. Is he a possibility in

the third round? I mean I can't buy out. Yeah, but I just think like that, whoever again, if if the if that safety goes from Virginia, I don't think that bothers. I don't think that bothers these guys at all. I really really don't. So we'll see how that all. Uh, that all shakes out, But I don't know. They look public. They look they look they look happy, laughing. They just fist bumped. Did they already make their picks? They must

have made the pick? Ye? Do we have any coaches in there standing behind the Yeah, maybe they finally wised up and stopped inviting those guys in there. Oh wait, no, Chris Hall's on the phone. Is that not Rod Mire? And ellis standing off to the side. That is that's right over ya. You know who it is? Y? Yeah, this is going to be This is going to be Hill is what this is going to be. Heel's pick is in at fifty seven cowboys on deck. I'm trying

to find this receiver. You guys in love with Cole Hartman? Yeah, I mean he's the most raw wide receiver. Probably that's gonna be, you know, taking today. At least you look at those guys. Fine? Can I wrote on my notes poor Man's Tyreek Hill. Ye, he's a joystick after the catch, not a refined route runner, but can catch it and

make people miss speed, had some home run balls. Can go be a punt return punt returner as well, but new to the position because he played dev think he knows how to run like the little shifty Cole Beasley type route kind of deals. But he can run a deep out and get open. He can run a post corner can Because weren't you like, weren't you mister no raw receivers last year? Yeah? But have you seen Mcole Harman play? Yes, I have. He's a beast. I don't know if he's a beast. Yeah, he'll be this year.

That dude's going from he'll be a beast with with Pat throwing him the ball. Maybe Eagles pick coming to the podium now to two thousand and seven fifth round pick and Super Bowl fifty two champion Brent Summit Eagles. Fast give it to me one time? Hey, Radio Health close, are we here? You go? With the fifty seventh pick of the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select jj R Sega Whiteside Stanford. They took the wrong big wide receiver, the Eagles Stanford wide receiver jj R

segay Side or DK. Yeah. No, I'm telling you everybody's everybody's worried about this guy's ability to turn. That's the problem and his neck maybe right. Yeah, Well, Dallas is on the clock. Okay, and again, hey, if the Eagle gonna draft a big wide receiver, those big corners that Christian Schard wants to be good for our Sega Whiteside, he's gonna get them tomorrow. Well or I think Richard was coming back to radio here, might be sorry, David.

You guys know you're on the inside. You know what's what. Dallas Cowboys, welcome back. The Dallas Cowboys are on the clock at number fifty eight here in the second round, and Philadelphia Eagles just took Stanford wide receiver jj R Sega Whiteside, whose specialty is scoring touchdowns. Yeah, just kind of winning Joe balls, winning with positioning and attacking the

ball in the air. And that's who's going at number fifty seven, which means at fifty eight, the Dallas Cowboys have their choice of a lot of guys they've shown interest in one Thornhill Taylor rap our guy Hill, the defensive tackle from Central Florida. Our defensive end Jalen Ferguson, DK Metcalf is on the board. Justin Lane, the corner from Michigan State eight is on the board. They've got their choice of a lot of different guys. And Rod

Marinelli is in the war room. If I had to guess, yeah, it's I mean Jalen Ferguson, Tristan Hill, maybe wan Thornhill. I mean Rod is technically the defensive coordinators, and I think Chris Richard was in there a minute ago. So anything's possible. But I'm I'm leaning they've survived. They survived the land mines they have they've survived the land mines. They tried, they worked hard. You saw him in the war room throughout, Stephen Jones was working the trade chart hard,

which he was working the phones. But they survived all that that we talked about pre draft. Barbe it from me, like they deserve the benefit of the doubt. But yet, I mean, look at look at the value. Look at what's happened in this draft, like Lonnie Lonnie Johnson, fourth round pick, Ben Banagoo's already off the board, like Drew Sample, Marquis Blair, like McGarry. Teams are drastically varying and how they value these guys clearly, So maybe they're guys still

there because they have him graded higher than anybody else. Now, the Dallas Cowboys a lot of these picks as we've been watching as soon as they're Tiger starts. We've seen that the pick is in. Yeah, the Cowboys, we are not seeing so far that the pick is in. No, but they're in that war room chill, and they've probably turned it in and they are Chris Hall is on the phone and I just watched him hold up two fingers, uh, telling him that because we're about to come. So they're

a little bit ahead of us right now. We just got the two minute warning for Dallas U. They got every or something that they are. They're trying to figure out Stephen Jones obviously waving Steven. There's clearly a youngster at the war room because that was the hello youngsters. I mean, we've done enough of these two. Like they made this pick already, didn't they Like they're five to ten minutes ahead. They have not picked in fifty seven players.

They're shaking hands with Rod and Chris Roushard. Yeah, okay, so our pick is gonna be in. We're gonna wait to see it be announced and see who the player is going to be. It's a defender. It's a defender, Taylor Rap, Tristan Hill, Monsieur Adderley one Thornhill. Everybody say it's Tristan Hill. Let me tell you this. They thought this board would stretch, and we did really a doomsday type of a mock draft the other day and had a lot of decisions to have to make. They they

made decisions on great players. We we made decisions on bad players. Are guys that we thought, my point might be questionable players. So you know, good for them if they again, they were very We talked about patients we opened this draft. We talked about could they sit there for fifty seven picks and allow it to come to them? And mister Jones is on the phone with whoever it is, mister Jones, Stephen Stevens, sorry, and we will end up with that audio, you know that, well end up minutes. Yeah,

we'll have that. Whoever that player is, he's on the phone with Stephen Jones right now, and Stephen is probably going to pass that phone to either Chris Richard or Rod Marinelli and they're gonna go around the horn. Interesting first, Jason Garrett, Yeah, you'll get a did Jerry Jones get on the phone? I did not see him. A man, a little simbot might go hungry. Okay, who's christ Rashard was hugging I'm hungry. Yeah, Chris was hugging Stephen Jones.

So but but Marinelli was the more anxious of the two the whole time, kind of tapping his leg and things like he's the defensive coordinator. It could still be a dB KT. I'm I'm betting not. We'll see. I'm bet this is This is really intriguing because there's so many good names. It's not really cut dry here, but we kind of feel like, well, we've known for about three months they would be a defender, all right, Is anybody still doubting now? Who they put him on the

phone with. Rod's got to say hey stud. Every defensive player, he says, he's got to say hey stud to pass rushers. Bro Okay, I guess that's possible. If Chris gets on the phone, then maybe I'll change my tune. I think this is gonna be a six three dude from Central Florida. You want still tape him today? Though you did well? It appears that we've got the pick at the podium two tall. Speaking of pass rushers, Hello, bask here, that'sible what it feels so good to be back home in

beautiful Tennessee. I would like to send a shout out to Tennessee State and all the HBCU in the Cowboy fans in the house tonight, Oh boy, all right. In the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys, the elect Tristan Hill. You see, Dallas Cowboys got that guy. That's the guy we've been talking about. They that we've been Brian even float the idea of will they be aggressive and go up and get him Dame you two. Instead, they sit at fifty eight and they had their I

come to them. It just felt right. It just felt like that's who they wanted. Throughout the process, it became more obvious that they were looking for that impact three technique and this is a guy that can shoot gaps. He plays with energy. You love the motor, and it equals production in the backfield. So you do worry about a little bit when he butted heads with coaches and UCF didn't start as this past season. But you know what, there's plenty of players like that who have gone on

to have productive NFL careers. To Marcus Lawrence being one of them. People forget he was suspended three different times Boise State, so this is a young player who has some maturity things to work out. But if it clicks and the upside is there, then you're gonna get a really productive three technique. And we all know that's what the Cowboys cover it. And it's the whole thing, like maturity things coming in. Does a guy like footballs he really loved football and want to get better at football?

Like those are questions you got to ask, And I don't think those are the types of maturity problems, are right, You're The basic maturity problems you had with Hill were basic things that you see out of a lot of twenty years old and and not necessarily football related, or you may I'm gonna use David Irving as an example. He always want to be here. I don't think you have a problem with Tristan Hill wanting to be there, you know. So I think that's a good picking on

what I like about Tristan Hill. As you see the flashinists, but I think you see the explosion in the lower body. He could play the three. He could give you snaps at the one as well, I believe. And I just think he's a guy who plays really well with his hands, his arms, not the longest arms of the world. But he plays well with his hands and shows the power. Let Rod coach him up a little bit. I mean, the upside on Tristan Hill is really really good for sure.

I think I'm looking at my notes and I've got in there plays with snap and violence in his game, able to push pole guys, strong hands, poles effort. He also has I put in here that there's a lot of plays in the backfield that are almost plays where he's got a chance to make tackles for loss, because at three and a half sacks and ten tackles for loss for an interior player, you're not wowing me with those numbers in college. But he also had a whole

lot of almost his plays. Let's get the cult selection and then we'll continue talking about the Cowboys pick. We got a lot of picks where nine pick the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, The Indianapolis Colt select Paris Campbell receiver Ohio State A burneris Colts another non dk Metcalf receiver off the board. Yes, sir, I guess turning does matter. That is my guy. I was really, really really high on him initially, and again I had to come back to earth with my uh with some of my analysis

of him. But I see what I like about this guy. I'd love his size, I love the run after catch when they got him the ball in hand. I thought this guy was a finisher. And again, Jeff will tell you he's our whisper. He gets a lot of underneath stuff. You know, they throw him the ball and you know they run him through trash. But once he gets the ball, he could turn it up the field. And I was really impressed with that part of it. You know, these Ohio State receivers a little bit be a little hit

and miss type guys. But again, this guy. If you've got a guy that's not afraid to go inside and catch the football, extend his hands and go, then you could play in this league. And I really did like Paris Campbell. Chargers on the car Are you gonna add on to that? No, no, no, no, I say Chargers on the clock now. But Tristan Hill, I can't going back to him. The Cowboys pick at fifty eight. I mean, that is your twenty twenty starting three technique for the

Dallas Cowboys, you would think. And that's why I like, that's where we are because the roster has been built almost impeccably, like it's been put in a situation to where you're drafting a starter for twenty twenty. And that's what I need Tristan Hill to be. I'm gonna go I'm gonna jump in the time machine real quick. I just tweeted this because it reminds me so much. And they're different players. Obviously, don't scoff at me because DeMarcus Lawrence is an All Pro who just signed a huge

contract extension. Doesn't this remind you of the DeMarcus Lawrence pick? And I'll say why is? And I brought this up earlier in the broadcast. You know, we the lay people, We look at the dozens and dozens of names and their safeties and YadA YadA. Weeks ago, the Cowboys said this is the guy. Yeah, we need a guy who can crumple the pocket, can beat the three technique. You want to get this pick real yeah, We'll get this pick.

And then but I like where you're going here with this NFL defend super working over the year and three time. Oh he's talking over his intro. I missed coming out here. And I guarantee you guys missed this too. Oh let's go for those listening. He did a dance with the sixtieth pick in a two thousand nineteen NFL Draft Biggest Chargers select Nasir Adeliere's back Delaware. He thought he might go to the Chargers in the first round. Yeah right, well,

there you go. They probably are enjoying the fact that they got to get him number sixty. So back to the Cowboys pick with Tristan Hill. So as somebody who was on the Taylor Rap bandwagon and was thinking and would go a different direction, I will say, looking back over the Tristan Hill notes, if he reaches his ceiling and if the flashes of what he does well are improved on with Rod Bernelli and he turns into what he potentially could be, he does play a more valuable

position than Taylor Rep. Does. I feel like they're kind of opposites, and that Taylor Rep felt like a really say finished product that I could really really trust, and Tristan Hill felt like a guy that flashes a lot of really good things but is nowhere near the consistently

finished product. So we're putting a lot here on Rod Barnelli to, hey, take this and turn it into something that when you watch his highlights, he plays that way consistently, that the pad level is right, that he's a penetrator, that he's disruptive, because those things are there for Triston Hill, and but I get more consistently. Yeah, I think you're not wrong though about there's times when he doesn't finish. I mean, you know, when you get get him in position.

I think the thing that Dave and I watched him a little bit today. We were trying to get a little bit more focused on him because we knew they were going to pick him that were smart. We had an idea and so I told him and I said, hey, we need to look at this guy a little stronger. And you watch him. He does play with violence, He's strong with his hands, he gets up the field, Dane. Dane did a great job of describing what he's like.

And but they're like you said, yet, there are times where the ball will go buy him, he'll lose track of the ball and you know he'll miss some plays, and so your assessment of him, you know, working out with Rod Marinelli leon letting those guys good to go okay on the radio side, will be right back. But finish up with the Cowboys pick and we'll take you up to our end of the coverage on one oh five three the Fan before we kick you over to radio dot com. So we'll be right back one five

three the Fan. I forgot we're done at eight thirty on the fan. We got a break it, Yeah, so we take breaks on that on that side of Oh, the fans not covering Pick ninety on the screen. We're talking right now kind of for you guys, but break away from all my notes will quick on my notes because I watched this with you broad us all my notes I write because sometimes it's fun to listen to

some of the things you guys say. Right, But a quote, but one of the quotes I put on the notes, as you said, I've never seen a guy do the right thing so much and not get rewarded for it, and that was a great I mean about Tristan Hill. I've never seen a guy do more right and not get rewarded for it, because there's the finishing. But another thing about him is you'll see a play, you know, fifteen yards down field and there comes to three hundred pound train chug in to try to catch him from

the backside. It was so funny that we uh this little insight the things working here at the Star. Dave and I Kennedy were watching tape of him and Bucky Buchanan. The equipment man came by. I said, Dave Goes, you got that number nine available for this guy. He's like, uh no, no, So ironically he's gonna I mean, which he can change when training camp, but he's gonna have to wear a weird number. He'll have to be in a fifty or six, gonna look funny. There's no nineties

available for him. But this, to me, this is a you look at what's ahead for them contractually with Collins. Now, nothing wrong with Collins is for college, plays hurt all the time, he didn't practice, he plays games. This is a guy with him hider these under tackle US day. We saw this guy play a little one two, right, I mean that seemed like UCF was determined to play him more at the one than the three. Yeah, and

that's probably what started some of the issues as well. Yeah, and how much it should cowboy Fins be worried about the quote immaturity issues? I mean, and that's an interesting question because you know we're not that far removed from the Randy Gregory pick. But are they issues on that level? I don't think they're not. That they spent so much time with this guy. You know, if you look at Rod Marinelli gart yeah, good dude, Yeah, I just to

go back to the point I was making. What you talked about it when DeMarcus Lawrence was doing his contract negotiation, right, what are the spots that that Rod Marinelli cares about above all else cares about? The three technique in the right end. DeMarcus Lawrence, that was their guy. They traded up to get him because he was the last guy on their board that could do that job. But he plays left in for you now, Well, and well that's a whole other conversation they'll lie to. But this the

guy they targeted as their three technique. Yeah, he was the last guy that they thought they could get who could make a difference. You can disagree with that, and you know, y'all, y'all have raised valid points about it, but that's their thought process. The Los Angeles Rams are on the clock. We'll take that back day. This is a pick they got from Kansas City. It's at two sixty one and the cost that makes me had the

Rams picked at all in this draft. No, yeah, they keep trading, they keep coming back, they keep backing up, back and up, back and up. So we're back at the fan. Welcome back. It is the twenty nineteen NFL Draft. On one oh five three the fan, we're taking you up to Rangers pregame on Dallas Cowboys dot Com. We're with you for all of rounds two and three, also

on radio dot com app. The Cowboys selection in the second round at fifty eight was a guy they'd been targeting all along, Triston Hill, the defensive tackle from the University of Central Florida, to play that three technique defensive tackle here for the Dallas Cowboys. And now we are into pick number sixty one for the La Rams, and it says the pick is in. I believe this is

their first pick of the entire draft. They've just been bouncing their way down, bouncing, yeah, eating turkey sandwiches and drinking all lights and pepsis and all that stuff. All right, Well, welcome to pick sixty one, where maybe the NFL told him, hey, you have to pick a player at some point. Now in the fan on the radio side, we'll be giving

way to the Rangers at eight thirty. Obviously, keep viewing on Dallas Cowboys dot com, listing on Dallas Cowboys and the radio dot com app and one five three fan dot com to Cowboys pick. Got a lot of pla forms because you have a great partnership with Dallas Cowboys. Die. Thank you, thanks for having no Thank you guys a heck of a job with the work we do. Okay, Uh, this is gonna be one of those drafts when we're all sitting around the crawfish pot one day at my

lake house and we're gonna talk about this one. We're gonna talk about who was on the board that day, and we're gonna talk about uh, you know with Uh, with Rap, with Adderley, with Thornhill. You know, we're gonna see what the safety plays like for the Dallas Cowboys.

There's gonna be some Now that's not to say that we won't see a safety drafted here because if we remember well thirty visits, uh, you know, we've got what if the hip flex or thing is a real thing and you get Taylor Rap at night, you know what, and and let's yeah and my my scouting buddy to my right, took a lot of heat for that and about that, and you know, he he tweeted out there about it and said, hey, this is a concern, and

it's absolutely a concern. So we will We'll keep going forward here though, but I will always remember this for the guys that were on this board. Rams at the podium, Roll Football Hall of Famer Orlando Pace, Yeah, good player. With the sixty first pick and the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select Taylor Rape. Oh yes, so Taylor Rap at nineties. What I wanted to do and say in sixty two? Who is that? The Rams made that sixty one sixty one, Well, that's a pretty

good time to finally stop trading down. When he decided, hey, let's just take Taylor Rap in the sixties, so they're gonna get a rock solid player out of the University of Washington. Yeah, and this guy, he is my favorite player. Yeah, it's seriously, I mean, when you talk about pet cat guys, I you know, I was trying to say, don't watch the speed, don't worry about that, don't worry you know,

don't worry about this, don't worry about that. Again, I thought he was to be a perfect scheme fit here with him playing down, being tough, tackling, being smart, cover all those things you know, look at you know, he could do things, he could blitz him, all kinds of really positive things with Adam Schefter. Tweeting is something I tweeted about fifteen minutes ago too. Guys. The Josh Rosen

trade is going down Arizona trading Josh Rosen to Miami. Okay, to your credit, I think you said that happened, and you said that about an hour ago. Text message down to sixty two, just to taunt them to say, listen, I don't have to give you forty something. I can give you sixty something and you'll take it well. Next the next Miami selection would be at three seventy eight. If I'm missing something here, but they have twelve they have twelve picks that aren't first round picks. Here. We're

gonna trade coming off here now. This is part of it. Yeah, Okay, Cardinals are showing grin on Kevin right now. The Arizona Cardinals are gonna pick. It is sixty two. This is the trade is going down for Josh rose We talked about this yesterday. I throwout Miami as a possible landing spot. Yes, as Dane nailed it, I nailed some of it. We all nailed it, guys. Great job you guys, stop patting yourselves on the flat feel embarrassing here to hear this.

Congrats on having a source. Yeah, so we'll see what the entire conversation shows. Right, we'll give you some sources. The Cardinals have the pick in at sixty two, they're talking somebody Tristan Hill two nights ago. Huh. You guys mocked Tristan Hill to the Cowboys two nights ago. You know what, we struck the draft show stuff, and we struggled our rear off for that reason alone. So yeah, absolutely we did. We were like, oh my god, we

have to pick this guy. Yeah, and I tried to go back and trade back up for Taylor Rep, who is available anyway. At the pick he goes number sixty one. DK Metcalf is still there. DK Metcalf is still there. If he's there at ninety, can I talk you into DK caf at night? I'm so in. I'm so in at night at that point. No matter how he fits, we'll try it. We'll give it a chance, all right. So we're waiting to see it is official that the Dolphins have acquired Josh Rosen from the Cardinals. The Cardinals

pick is in at number sixty two. I don't know if we have full details yet on what picks are involved, but obviously sixty two is part of it. Let me, I'm doing a little housekeeping right as we speak, so I'm sorry about that. Let me do that for you. All righty, wait to see who this pick is going to be for the Arizona Cardinals. Okay, behind them here in the draft. I'm sorry. That was a pump fake by me that made it sound like they're at the

podium when they are not. After sixty two, which is Arizona Cardinals, we will then be back to the Kansas City Chiefs, then the New England Patriots, which will wrap up the second round, Dane, who are some of your best players available here at the end of the second round? All right starts with DK Metcalf. Surprised he's still around. I mean, I wasn't the biggest fan of DK Metcalf,

just because I was Yes, I'll talk me into that cat. Well, no, I know, I felt like I was talked into the two because after a while, you just say, okay, six three and a half and he runs, but he runs a four three like trade ahead. Those okay, those traits. You can win with those types of guys. If if all he gives you is three to five Splash plays a game, okay, that could be an I think people

are worried about that though, Dane, No, I do. But again, the upside if you if you only have three or four or five Splash plays a game that could equal production. Here's the Arizona Cardinals coming up to the podium with their pick. I'll give you the trade afterwards. Hello, Nashville, the Maya mcdoppins, I've traded the sixty second pick for the Arizona Cardinals. With the sixty second pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinal select Andy

Isabella wide receiver. You mask Wow, Yeah, Kyler and Andy Isabella. Yeah. You get somebody who's gonna get some separation right away. Here. Just dance around and take off running, young man. I'll tell you what. I'll give Dane credit for this one though, too, because a long time ago he said, ye know, we're tbout and third round guys, slot guy. He goes, no, you got to take him earlier than that. And here he is A it's a it's late in the second round,

but you know it's still Andy Sabella. The particulars on the trade. Josh Rosen goes now from from the from Arizona Cardinals to the Miami Dolphins. The Cardinals also sent a fifth round pick UH to Miami, which is in twenty twenty. Okay, okay, And we've got Tristan Hill who's gonna join us right now the Cowboys draft pick right here on Dallas Cowboys dot com and one oh five three the fan as we say, good evening and welcome to the Dallas Cowboys. Congratulations Tristan. Hey, how you doing?

How you doing? We are doing great. Glad to hear the excitement with you. What how much did you know that the Cowboys were interested? Because we'd sure been kicking around your name a lot the last couple of weeks. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Uh, you know, talking to coach Marinelli and talking to UH coach Jason Garrett. You know, um, you know, I knew that it was Sementterrius and you know, me and Mary Nell about talked every day, you know, to

this day. So you know, I do those sements, uh, you know the way Coach Mayonelli, the way the way that we uh you know, our relationship is as he meant. You know, it's so important to me. I called him another day actually just asked him how I was supposed to be feeling and what he was thinking everything else, you know. So I mean with everything you just said, Tristan, congratify the way, you know, but thank you. It's a long way to pick fifty eight. You obviously knew there

was a lot of interest. What have these last two hours been like while you wait to see you know, if that was going to come to pass right? Um, you know I thought it would come to I thought it was gonna work out. You know, I had that gut feeling in my heart. Um, you know, I just doing it. It was gonna work out and and everything, you know, leave it up to God and and leave it up to you know. I knew. I knew it was gonna go the right way that it should have went. Um,

I'm just excited to be here. I'm excited at the at the two hours are up, you know, I'm excited about everything. I don't really know how to put it in words. You know, well, Tristan, I was gonna ask you though, when the first time that you got a chance to meet Ryan Maranelli, you were you know, he's probably coming down there to work ye out. What was your experience slightly if you talked about you kind of developed a little bit of a friendship with him. But

he puts you through a pretty good workout. I bed down there to get an idea what kind of player you are, wasn't he Oh? Yes, yes, sir. He made sure that he was getting everything up. You know. We turned about the night before and he told me he was gonna make you got everything he was gonna do. Um, you know, and I went and did it some the best amounting and he told me, he said, listen, you're gonna be fine as long as you you know, you do this, you do that, and you know you go

as hard as you can. That's what you know, That's what I prided myself on, and that's what he prided his players on. Um. You know, that's what I went and did, and I feel like I knocked out the park um and just you know, just having him down there a legend, you know, light man newly come down man, you know, working me out much less talking, you know, seeing it come to life. Tristan, what's the ideal defensive position for you? What's the position? Have you had your choice?

What would you want to play there? On the defensive line? You know anything I feel like? Okay, all over the defensive line. Um, you know, three technique, one technique out on the end next to Lawrence, you know those those guys and coach himself. Um, you know, I know that I have no no, no choice about to succeed in this defense. And you know what, no matter what position I'm at. Tristan, congratulations once again and we look forward to seeing the year. Welcome to Dallas Cowboys. Yes, thank you,

proud to be here. Go Cowboys. All right, there you go? Was the latest Dallas Cowboy Tristan Hill. Yeah. And as us as we were visiting with Tristan, there another safety went off the board. Uh, we've the last I Nsieur Adderley went to the Chargers, Taylor Rapp went to the Rams. There goes one and one. Thornhill goes to the Kansas City Chiefs. Well, we had a pretty good feeling for the players who were going to go in this range. Didn't we yea New England. New England has made a trade.

Seattle is now on the clock. I'll give you the particulars of the Seattle trade if I can trade it up. Yeah, Seattle, trade it up. Okay, New England ships sixty four to Seattle in turn. Seventy seven now belongs to New England, and then also one eighteen. So seventy seven and one eighteen liked enough to do such a big jump are now involved with the New England Patriots there, but I

can't so the Cowboys. We kind of all had an idea once the Cowboys made their selection that people kind of wised up and said, wait a minute, there's too much value on the top of that board at safeties. Those were all safeties other than Thornhill. I had him in the third round. With the other safeties, I had second round grades on those guys. So people kind of saw a little value there and then said, hey, we

gotta make this happen. And that's the group of players I think that's kind of the fun of the draft, is the group of players that we've been debating for a couple of weeks. For the Cowboys, they kind of all just spent fifty eight to sixty two sixty three. Not only that, but it happens every year. Derwin James and Layton Vanderesh last year. We'll be hearing about it. We'll be hearing about it every time Taylor Rapp, Wan Thornhill, Adderley or any of those other guys does something. Yeah,

Taylor Rapp, when Tristan Hill does something? For that, howboys do play the Rams. So we'll see Taylor Rapp with at some point in time this year. Who we'll we'll only time's gonna tell. But you know, I'm getting tweets from people you know, well, you passed up on a starting safety for a rotational tackle. Yeah, do you think that's the case. We had an argument about that weeks before the draft. Hill plays a more important position if

he turns, Yeah, he plays a more valuable position. Do you think Taylor Rapp or one Thornhill is a starting safety against New York on September whatever eighth. I'd remind you the fact that I remind you the fact that they didn't get Layton Vanderish in the line up until

like we five coaches love to be by. That's why I mean, that's why I love to start the entrention much as I love Taylor the Rap, as much as I love Nasir Adderley and those guys that again, they don't care about me, They don't care about Brian brought us. You know, we're just trying to do our jobs here talking about these players, you know, and I'm hope I'm right. I'm hope I'm right about those players. But I'm hope I'm also right about Tristan Hill. You know, we talked

about a gayo. Rod Marinelli went in there and he felt like though this was important to you know, this is important to the defense, and it's important to what they're trying to do at the undertackle in the middle part of that defense. You remember what happened to them last year and the last part of that season. That Indianapolis game refreshed you a little bit right there. How about that? How about the game against the Rams. You know, I know the human Law was injured during the time,

but you know they're adding bodies inside. I like, you know, Christian Covington, who they added from the Texans, you know, in the free agency and stuff like that. So maybe they're going to build them a nice little rotation better than what they had with with Reid and Ross and guys like that that last year to a point, got it done, but not nearly good enough again, So Seattle on the clock for the final pick in the second round, the Josh Rosen trade done. That's the other I think,

I think, right, yes, you did a fifth. So it's sixty two of Arizona ended up taking Andy Isabella and in a twenty twenty fifth. Looks like Seattle's on the podium right now, let's go see them. The New England Patriots have traded the sixty fourth pick to the Seattle Seahawks.

With the sixty fourth pick in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select DK dk Metcalf doesn't quite sneak to the third round to the second Seattle will go get a value pick on you all the way all the way to the end of the second and had his name mispronounced on them. And I'll tell you what the mispronounced DK Russell Wilson is not afraid to push the ball down to I'm gonna say, and he throws it well for the same reason that Pat Mahomes would

have been a good fit for him. You mean, a guy that's just gonna run in circles in the pocket for eighteen seconds and then throw a bomb that sounds like a winning combination. It works. I mean, he can get vertical, there's no question about that. Without speed and that power, we'll see how he I mean, it's not like you just he'll never be able to develop as a route runner. You know, we'll see how he does throughout the years. But his catch radius with that length, yeah,

I mean that that could be a difference maker. And again he's not going to be a high volume target. But even if you only have five splash plays a game, that can make an impact for your football team. So

just tremendous value here for the Seahawks. I do feel like when you talk about him as a route runner, and I'm sure he can develop to whatever percentage or however much you think he could, But I also think like when Bez Bryant was here, Dez was never going to be a great route runner, right, some guys are just like they're powerful straight ahead runners, where the agility part you can't just magically make it appear. So for the most part, he's probably gonna have to win as

a vertical and a stop guy. But I'll tell you what, Here's why. I kind of here's why, like DK Metcalf more than just run down the field guy, because I also think watched him just run stop routes. Guys can try to sit on a stop route. Sure, he drops a hammer into your chest and you move five year Like he can. He can create room for himself with power. Interesting that Seattle traded up something they normally don't do.

They normally kind of trade back, but they trade up to get in front of Arizona at pick sixty five, Arizona, who just took Andy Isabella Kyler Murray, Andy Isabella, DK Metcalf would have been crazy too, but Arizona now to kick off the third round. Now, Arizona taking Kyler, taking Byron Murphy the cornerback from Washington, Zach Allen right there, and then Andy Isabella earlier. Pittsburgh on the clock. Now they traded up to ten to get Devin Bush. So

that's all they've done. Dane Bruger, by the way, called that one. I thought that was a good he said, Hey, as soon as that trade happened, he knew exactly where the h the Pittsburgh Steelers would go in there. Um, what do you think you're Dane? You get any idea, anyone? You gotta put the call in. Now. What's problem? Because as soon as they traded up last night, I did the same thing. I was like Pittsburgh to ten. Oh they never replaced Shazier. That's Devin Bush. So now they're

on the clock for the second time. It's time to no stradomisis thing? Okay? Well what h I got? What do the Steelers do on the second day of the draft? They pick receivers? Right? Oh, logical? Here can Harmon? Let's look at the board wide receivers that are available, Redley Harmon, Jalen Hurd, Kim Butler, your boy, Deonta John a really good pick. Har McLain Slaton. That's the problem. Trying to pick one receiver right now, to me would be impossible.

Like for me, I can do it for my board, But to get a consensus group of people, I think that's gonna be pretty tough. Now, when this team fumbled and drafted already Burns, I would like to see them get some redemption. Here Justin Lane is still on the board. That's I was literally, why is Justin Lane still here in the third round. Anybody, Okay, I'll tell you why. Justin Lane's still on the board. And if you do,

you're a part of the Lane family. Turned down your radio because if you run an inside breaking route, you're wide open. Well, Justin Lane's really good if you're going outside release or vertical on him. But I swear every inside breaking route he didn't cover it. And I don't know if that's part of the defense, but that was a hole in that game. Now, Dane said, wide receiver. We've talked a lot about those tight ends at fifty eight as well. Uh, they could use some tight end.

I know they have Jesse James. They don't have a dynamic tight end. They just kind of have get the job done. Guys. Grab you some Sternberger or some knocks and get down the field on people. I think that'd be fun. Or Kale Warring h get a little small school action. So going down the wide receivers, you said you want that water polo goalie, Huh, that water polo goal is pretty good football players too much. Yeah, I like it. Oh, look, they've already put the We've gone

back to the TV side of it here. They love following Josh Rosen's Instagram. Yeah, he said let's go baby, and he's photoshopped into a Dolphins uniform. For him. Man, it's probably first time he's been in a good moods. It's like February tenth worth a late to the latest two and a fifth round pick, Which I'm telling you right now, if the Dolphins miss on this and Rosen is never a good NFL quarterback, they should still make

that trade ten times. On course, traded a late too and nothing every shot at a franchise quarterback every spring lottery pick. That's it. Daniel Jones went sixth overall. Josh Rosen just went sixty second, and that just happened. Like Josh Rosen has such a better chance of having a good career. I agree, totally agree. That's I think that's Miami was the last team that was in search of their guy and they got him for nothing. They got

him from peanuts. That's that's a great job by them, whether it works or not to me for a teenage tanking though, they got a quarterback that was drafted tenth overall. Yeah, but based on what he did last year, he can help you tank. Well. Yeah, But I'm just saying, though, if you look at if you look at roster, if you yeah, if you maybe I trust What if he gets beat out by fat Fitzpatrick. I don't think he gets beat out by Fitzpatrick. You gotta play this guy,

don't you. I mean, let Fitzpatrick try and help him. But Steelers are on the clock and they're actually at the podium. Here we go, let's go, let's go all right, Quiet down, quiet down, quiet down? Oh boy? What the sixty six pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, The Pittsburgh Steelers select Deonte Johnson, wide receiver. Hey, the Steelers can scout good Steelers can scout receivers. I will say this, Dame Burugo had an idea about drafting receivers though.

I mean they that's what they do. On Day two. They James Washington, jud Schuster, go all the way back to Emmanuel Sanders. They find these guys and they turn out to be Sometimes sometimes you got to check the mac. Sometimes you got to check the mac player. Deonte Johnson was. He wasn't my number one receiver. He was my favorite receiver in this draft because I knew I liked him a lot more than most people did. But I like him as a return man, and I really like the

way that he runs routes. Now in most NFL offenses, well you have to tighten up the way he runs routes, probably because he goes a little creative on you have to get his separation. But the dude gets separation, and I think he can play, and I think he's gonna be a good NFL player. So I love that pick. Uh, And I want to go back to Rosen real quick, because you said, well I thought they were taken. Well,

I don't have to anymore. Yeah, now you throw Rosen out there, and if he shows you that he can play, great. If he doesn't show you that he can play, and the rest of that roster is not that good, then you're still bad and you can go get a guy. And we oh darn, we gave up a late two. Let's go pick our quarterback. I don't I don't think there's a losing situation there. They'd obviously can play, but we'll see and they'll be okay either either way. You

guys want to let's go to the forty nine ers. Oh, look who it is at the podium, Ta Deonte Johnson was. He wasn't my number one receiver. He was my favorite receiver in this draft because I knew I liked him a lot more than most people did. But I like him as a return man, and I really like the way that he runs routes. Now in most NFL offenses, well you have to tighten up the way he runs routes, probably because he goes a little creative on you have

to get his separation. But the dude gets separation, and I think he can play, and I think he's gonna be a good NFL player. So I love that pick. Uh, And I want to go back to Rosen real quick because you said, well I thought they were taken. Well, they don't have to anymore. Yeah, Now you throw Rosen out there, and if he shows you that he can play, great. If he doesn't show you that he can play, and the rest of that roster is not that good, then you're still bad and you can go get a guy

and we, oh darn, we gave up late two. Let's go pick our quarterback. I don't I don't think there's a losing situation there. They'd obviously can play, but we'll see and they'll be okay. Either either way you guys want to let's go to the forty nine ers. Oh, look who it is at the podium tea Hall of Favor, nine Ers Man of the Year and Pro Football Hall of Famer. He won Man of the Years. He didn't say NFL Man of the Year. Day. Hey, you guys gotta get your popcorn ready. We're at the sixty seventh

pick and the twenty nineteen NFL drought. The San Francisco forty nine Ers select Zalen Hurd, wide receiver. How about that Baylor former Tennessee volunteer running back. I will tell you my first Jalen Hurd memory is when I was watching Tennessee play and he was there. I was I was texting my Tennessee friends, and I was like, why is the inferior running back keep getting the ball that Kamara? Dude's got juice. But wide receiver, he put together some

pretty dark good type that hurts man. That's a that's a that's a pet cat right there. Yeah, man, Jalen Hurd was really fun. Jalen Hurd draft or sorry, sorry Katy, The Niners drafted both of my favorite receivers. We get to a point with him, though, like, Okay, we're gonna watch Jalen Hurd, the Baylor wide receiver, and I have this negative connotation with Baylor wide receivers, and watch him and you know the backstory being running back and you go, whoa, whoa, whoa,

look at him. Yeah. Look if they catch with the hands over the middle, play not to take a hit by a linebacker, Look at this guy. Yeah, man, I just that's a pretty good spot. Man. Have fun. San Francisco need to help them out with wide receivers too. So I really like that pick, Jeff. They got some secret audio they let's get it. So Tristan Hill, we saw them in the war room. We saw them on the phone with Tristan Hill when they made the pick.

And of course on Dallas Cowboys dot com and on one oh five three the Fan, we always bring that right to you. Here is Tristan Hill finding out he's a Dallas cowboy. Tristan Hill play with the Dallas Cowboys. Got somebody, got somebody who wants to talk to you. Hey man, how are you doing good for you? Hey man? You did a hell of a job in that room with Ride. I was highly impressed. Hold on, I'm gonna catch you over to coach Garrett, gonna get on with you.

Just say, how you doing, man, We're doing fantastic. We've been waiting a long time. Fifty seven picks. So excited you're still up on that board. It's so excited. I can't even hear you so much. Let's do it, let's do let's go. Okay, here's coach Marinelli. Well do you think, big guy, do you have your contract? They're ready to sign it. Let's do it. I'm ready to go. Here's mister Jones. Hey Tristing. Congratulations, congratulations, buddy, thank you, thank you.

Let's go. Well, I'm glad just call you. Got a lot of support in this room. I ready to go. Okay, well that's good. Well come Roger, ready for you. Okay, man, congratulations, Okay, great, okay, trust thank you buddy. All right, there's a secret. It sounds like it was a lot of fun in his house. It sounds like they're having a good time. So Miller White's going off of that house right now. That is awesome.

By the way, a pick that just happened in this draft. Yeah, the New York Jets either picked a guy that's not gonna make it. Or they got one of the seals of the draft. We'll find out. But is it you say, Jachi Jachai Polite from Florida is going to the New York Jets in the third round, And tell me if you think I'm exaggerating, I would say he has top ten to fifteen tape in this draft. I think that's

exactly right. Yeah, he's a quarterback assassin. And listen, if he buys in and reaches his potential, stays in shape himself, listens to the coaching. I mean, this guy he has the tape to be an impact player. And so here in the third round, this is your classic Boom or Bus pick. So let's see how that one plays out for him. Right now at Jacksonville number sixty nine, they are on the clock here in the third round. What's Jacksonville done so far? Does somebody have the things that

they may still be looking at here? Maybe you kind of got Jacksonville in front of you there or some stuff I can for you right here too as well. Wide receiver, tight end, O line, and end. Now, obviously they drafted Josh Allen and uh scooped up Jawan Taylor, so probably throw those linemen out of there. Needed wide receiver, maybe a tight end. Yeah, that's the wide receivers and tight ends on the board. Right. That's kind of like that sweet spot right now. This is a really good

for both. The third round is a fun route, fun time in the draft. I mean, this is this is where you can really really help your team here. So, uh, you know, I'm saying, all right, you know I feel smart. Jim Naggy, that Senior Bowl director. Just wait on that run on tight ends? There you go, there you go. Uh could this be a situation. Let's the Cowboys are all the way down at ninety. I know we got a long long way to go to get to them. You guys, we've kind of kind of run ideas out

there about running backs. Is this like we keep talking about the cornerback? Could that be? I keep every time I have talked about cornerback, I said the word sneaky with it. Is this we get to ninety? Could they be holding on a cornerback at this uh this point in time, you know, and not a running back. Maybe they're looking for a running back in Day three since

they're a cornerback and Justin Lane's still there. But is there a cornerback that they shown interest in that fits this rain, didn't you guys say, Isaiah Johnson is a guy that they showed a lot of interest in in Houston. Johnson's raw, but you're talking about that size, that length, and that athleticism and something to kind of mold and there were ideal you wouldn't need him to play much. You're gonna ready to play next year. You're in good shape.

They're gonna try like help yard, you know, one of his big range cornerbacks. If I had to guess Chauncey Gardner, Johnson's still there. I actually so I went through, you know, of the thirty visitors that we know, here, the Jaguar comes up. Yeah, let's go with the Jaguar shore. I'll see what a select here Jaguars at the podium with the sixty nine selection and the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Josh Oliver tight end San Jose State.

Here they go really good sight end prospects, top senior tight end in this draft. It's a little surprise he goes ahead of wearing Knox Sternberger. But he's a he's a really good player. We're still left with a list of really good tight ends. I don't know where the Georgia guys gonna go when you run a four nine forty. But he's a good player. Sternberger, Warring Knox, There's there's some of these teams. These teams are seeing some of these players totally different than I am. Oh, yeah, for sure.

You know at Sternberger and you mentioned all these guys and I'm sitting you know, even I understand why Raymonds, Cayton Smith, I mean I had a ton of them before I had Oliver coming off this point, Josh Oliver, the second cousin of former Darren Oliver. Yep, okay, that's right, a lot of athletes in his family. UM. I had a chance to talk to him and San Jose's head coach.

They they literally had plays in the Plague book called fts plays feed the stud plays designed specifically to get him the football because he was the best player on their team. Wasn't even close. He thirty eight chair resulted in a first down or touchdown. He can be a big play target as a receiver down the field, especially down the scene. If we're looking you know again, Brian, to your point, we're ways away from ninety. But if you're looking at players the Cowboys have shown interest in

that are still there. Damien Harris, the running back out of Obama, Christian Miller, the Queen Obama, Johncy Gardner, Johnson the Florida of dB Dawson Knox, the old Miss tight end, Jay Sternberger, and m tight end. I don't mate, which this doesn't sound like a pick at ninety, but with the way these guys have gone these two days, who the hell knows? Kry Willis the safety out of Michigan

State and Will Harris Boston College safety. So anybody's guess what it looks like in twenty more picks, but they definitely have plenty of options. So the Rams up at seventy now they they've just picked for the first time a little bit ago. Yeah it took that. They took our safety, Rap Taylor, Rap, it took Rap. Yeah. Now did they trade for this pick? This was a Tampa Bay pick. This was a Tampa Bay pick. Yeah, that was that was done. So, uh, they've got this again.

We're we're in the third round five minutes per uh selection here, so we're kind of moving along. Okay, how long are the picks tomorrow? Five minutes? There's still five minutes. Yeah, we hope there were two minutes. I mean, I was gonna say, like, how much faster can it go? I feel like we're doing a pick every forty five seconds. Well, if you're kind of listening with us right now, we're watching, it looks like they're doing a military salute here with

this pick. So members of the armed forces are on the stage shaking hands with the commissioner right now. It's got to be a great thrill for them to be up there be a part of this. The crowd reacting very kindly to our servicemen and women who were up on the stage. So again, the Rams, they kept trading back. It's a good football team. We saw that with their own eyes. Uh last season. I think it always had a talented roster. I think the coach that can match

the style of the rosters. So uh. And then again they've added Taylor Rap to that mix. There. It feels like defense would be the way they would go unless they wanted to help out. They have a little spot on their interior offensive line. They could go. I love Drew Semia and I feel like I'm a big fan that you know, you could see a you know, somewhere for him to go. But also I'm looking at you know, defense they lost uh uh Sue, you know they lost him.

Draymond Jones. Maybe he's a free agent. I mean, Draymond Jones could be in the mixture right there. Um, I'm sure they love to have another six player or linebacker Hills will Oh, here's where I get to have a little fun with you guys. Let's snead he's an SEC guy. Oh lord, okay, sec. You got mac Wilson. Wilson, remember how under size And here's the Rams selection. Mack Wilson's the best plays on the board for me. Jackie Slater, Oh my gosh, he's big. But here we go. Let's

go to the podium. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded the seventieth peak to the Los Angeles Rams, and with the seventieth peak in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams the reigning NFC champions like Darrell Henderson running back from Memphis. Oh good, hey, I think they're worried about Todd Gurley. Yeah, a little bit. That is a which we're sitting here talking about the Cowboys spinning

too high on her running back. Man, that just might gave you a little example what the Cowboys might need to do fourth round. You can get your what I'm trying to say that what the Cowboys need to do? Or? Am I scared? Sis? If I'm a Rams fan, you are scared? Sis? You know it? Okay, Dave, let me tell you about the trades. Could you like to kind

of handle this? The Rams for this pick? Uh, they they send this now goes ninety four, goes to Tampa Bay, and also uh, pick ninety nine goes to Tampa Bay, and then also then Tampa Bay in fact sends the seventieth overall pick. So ninety four and ninety ninety four ninety nine the Rams now belong to the Buccaneers seventy and the pick was made. The Rams went two yeah, to get a running back. Exactly what's wrong with Todd Gurley? No, that's what gay T was just tuck. What is wrong

with Todd Gurley? It is the only that is the only plausible explanation for why you would do that. Well, here we go. We got the Denver Broncos pick seventy one, had a pick before them, but they exercised it in the supplemental draft. So Giants gets passed by. Now this is Denver, it's like Carl Mecklenburg picking for the Broncos. Let's go the podium draft. The Denver Broncos select Draymond Jones, defensive tackle Ohio star. Raymond Jones kind of a stand up, tall,

get pushed back type of guy. No, just kidding, Jermond Jones. You're not haters, No, you're not. I just I think Draymond Jones is a guy who you've got a lot of projection in right. He is a huge hit and miss right here. This is a he's a mustable guy. But if it works out the athletic you know, traits are incredible there. Just you're at pick seventy one, are you not? Yeah, that sounds like a fantastic place to take Draymond Jones. Agree, talent ability. I wanted nothing to

do with him at fifty eighth. Th Oh, that's fine. We're we're half around away from fifty eight. At this point, he was fifty six on live board. I mean, I think he's a guy that six. If he wins off the snap, I'm sure he will be I'll be wrong. You have to protect him a little bit. Have to protect him. Well, okay, what what the best trade about him? Dane? His quickness, he could penetrate gaps and once he does, uh, you know, good luck slowing him down because he can

create that backfield disruption. It wasn't at the tester we thought he and that was kind of funny. It was And he didn't retest at the pro day, which kind of told you something right there. You do worry about him in the run game, but again as a one gap penetrator. Um kind of what the Cowboys seeing in Tristan Hill. Uh, you know, he's a guy that could

be disruptive. Uh. Chefter three minutes ago reporting that Doug Baldwin might be unable to play again because of the multiple injuries that he's had, makes sense that the Seahawks would select dk Metcalff where they did at sixty four, the final pick of the second round. That really sucks because he's one of my favorite players. He was a good player as a guy that I just for years never wanted to give him enough credit to That's part of what made him one of my favorites, is like

everybody wanted to write him off. He just on paper, undrafted guy balls out for six seven years. Bengals on the clock Jonah Williams in the first round. They took Drew Sample, the tight end from Washington in round two. Looking at the Bengals needs, I know they could use more offensive line help. I know that's something and I know I'm gonna be probably pounding the table for Drew Samia for every team I don't have a problem with. I don't have a problem with Drew Samia at all.

But there's a lot of offensive line guys, Joga McGovern, Samia, Michael Jordan, ye Deeter, who I like probably more than everyone else. Jordan's an Ohio State kid, Hio State kid. Yeah. For the Bengals are always one of those teams. It's a history. I always say this every year. It's like a broken record players. If they're looking for an interior linement, I wouldn't be surprised they took the Jordan kid, the center guard right Dane from from Ohio State, something like that.

I'm just kind of throwing out out out there. Any reason for them to take one of these quarterbacks, any reason to take will Greer or Finley one of those guys. I mean, hey, every man, a team that kind of struggle with quarterback right at the point, if you're gonna take Dayne Haskins in the first round, yeah, that's what I was going to say, which I always feel fair enough, I feel dumb saying that. I hope they take Greer right now. The Cowboys took Dak Prescott and he turned

into Dak Prescott. So it is possible. But if you're not willing to really pony up and spend a real resource, I say go go later in the third round, now to day three, then maybe you throw a pick at jartstid him or you know. But in the third round, like draft a guy who can help the quarterback that you clearly gave a vote of confidence to. My other Bengals needs outside of offensive line, it goes to defense and it goes to linebacker. I still have Mac Wilson

on the board. I stubve Germaine Pratt on the board's linebackers. That's where I go from there after offensive line. So um, I admit, man, the Bengals who for years were kind of like okay, on the cusp of being something, and then over the last five years have become just a really boring team, you know, up there with the Dolphins of teams that just aren't that exciting anymore. And they have some good player a J. Green, Joe Mixon. I mean, they have some playmakers there. But yeah, Andy Dalton, I

think they're stuck in neutral with him as quarterback. And that's why I thought Dwayne Askins sitting there at eleven made a lot of sense for them, but they decided to stick with you know, they have a first year head coach, so they're not ready to just a revamp the offense right away. They're gonna letet wet and see what happens this year. And Andy Dalton's getting ready to be a free agent, and so they've kind of tabled

free agent or extension talks for them time being. But that's something that we have to watch for in Cincinnati. Might be time to move on soon. And it sure felt like that that hiring of Zach Taylor, it sure felt like that was just kind of the last ditch effort to get someone who might have a John mc connection. Like, like you just said, I let the head coach get his feet wet man. We're in the NFL. There's thirty two teams. I'm not in the business of letting my

coach get his feet wet. I want to go get a guy who knows what he's doing, or at least and I'm not saying Zack doesn't, But if if I'm hiring him to be my head coach, then I'm gonna have him have a little bit of saying what he's doing. That's why I liked that the Cardinals then let him have a little soap by the Groces. But well, if you're gonna hire the guy and let him have fun, Oh,

the Bengals pick is up now? Because I'm on a a Bengals soap box, so weird and we're seventy second pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select. To me, that's the Bengals. I know, it's the Bengals. I know. God, I love you Cincinnati. What you say, is he from Ohio? No? Is he like? He's my favorite team to draft. They knew exactly who I wanted to take. That's your guy. Your guys, right, he's not like anything, he's not. He's okay, you'll like him,

you'll like him. Let me, let me talk. I'll tell you a little bit about like Dave's gonna meet him. Yeah, you'll, you'll as he's a friendly guy. He'll he'll maybe bump into him somewhere down the road. Here. Let me give you a little insight. Tell me about this guy. Love Pratt, I do love Pratt. My gosh, you guys are fools for nothing. This is physically a really good looking player. He's long, he's range, he plays with some pop. He's a wrap up tackle. He uses link to get rid

of some blockers. He's not afraid to throw his body around and redirect in a hurry. For a long guy, works in and out of holes. Can can cover some ground when he runs. Hard. Guy to out run, especially to the edge. So like it plays with some violence and uh finds the ball, plays well in coverage, can carry his guy to field. He'll call some problems in the pockets of blitzer, and he can create some turnovers.

So honest, I wanted to draft him as our strong safety. Congratulation. Yeah, at six two and a half and two hundred and forty pounds, how about that trade. Charles Gillman having a pick round two. Six time pro bowler and member of the two thousands All Decade Team old encruits. Hey look small CE two one man one sound created the seventy

third pick to the Chicago Bears. How's It? Nashville. With the seventy third pick in the two thousand and nineteen NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select David Montgomery, running back. How goes short and nice like that? One? Huh? That's it? Yeah? But yeah, I'm gonna play along with us. I'm a David Montgomery fan. You know who was a David Montgomery fan? The Dallas Cowboys were? Yeah? Were they? Yeah? They were? I love having him. He's a lot of fun to me.

I just liked the fact that it's he was like, if you would like to tackle David, he's not planning on being tackled by one person very often. I love I just love watching him run. I just think he's so tough. The balance is so good. Uh that you know, they let Jordan Howard go in Chicago for almost nothing because you got Tariko in there, And I think David that's a nice little stable running backs. He also has the intangibles that are just off the charts. I mean,

he's all the sea on his chest. There Yeah, he's just the easy guy to appreciate it. And he's not dynamic, as you know, he's not that big time athlete. He's not going to necessarily make guys miss all the time. But you know, he's toughness. It's easy to like him and appreciate how he how he runs with the football. So he's going to a good situation. It's just I actually got a pick right in the third round in

my mock draft, but I like this fit. It looks like Buffalo's now at the podium, the selection is dedicated to a city with someone like Pinto Ron Kenny Johnson who brills on the hood of a car and pour shots out of bowling balls, but essentially Ezra Castro, famously known as Concho, he wanted to be here tonight, but just just told him that he would enter hospice for the cancer he's been so bravely battling. I thought he should be here tonight, so I brought him along in

a way be a FaceTime. So Nashville, please show Ezra and his family in the hospital some love as you embody the spirit of the people of Buffalo. We never give up, We never give in. Zra keep fighting keeping Go Bills with a seventy fourth pick in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills Singletary, No, everyhaler goes the runners. Ryan's tiny runner, My tiny runner. Now we do gotta get the runner at ninety, right, Ryn gonna go get one as they all come off the board. Hey,

you want to talk about him a little bit? Uh? Yeah, him. Well, everyone got scared after he Heftery ran slow right in my situation, into a box of eight or nine guys more than Devin Singletary there right, Like every opposing team knew, Okay, well that's the guy we have to stop, so load up the box. I thought he had good cuts, good vision.

I think the start stop is there. I think that was the most the best trait that he Had's just he's able to really accelerate and crank it up into another gear freak everyone out after he ran a horrible four to six six or whatever. But he's a tiny man. I don't mind the tiny man. He did take a heavy load over the last two years, over six or touches the last couple of years. If that bothers you that I'm I kind of like the Josh Jacob's idea of a guy who didn't carry it much in college

to save it for the big boys. But I think I didn't, you know, love him. I mean I liked some of these guys a little bit more. But Devin Singletary, this is this is a great range for him seventy four. Did you have anything on him, Derek Jeff Uh, Yeah, I was a big fan, and I didn't mind the bad workout I talked to We talked about this. He's on the draft shore. Maybe I talked with Dane on trust the tape workout. It would have to be really, really really bad for me to care. Oh, Packer selection.

Let's go to the Jason Sternberger tie down Texas saying him because of running back, you know, like a wide receiver. If you're not athletic, that's a problem because you line up directly across from someone. And if he's marthic a problem. There's corners, offensive verse, defensive lineman. Those are all things running back. I'll trust your tape. Singletary's tape is really good. Yeah,

I think you can play Packers. Given Sternberger a weapon, I knew they would help Aaron Rodgers out at some point. I was kind of shocked that they went double defense in round one when they went Rashaun Garry and Darnell Savage. Then a little bit earlier they took Elton Jenkins the guard center really but he'll play garden. Now they get Sternberger and Sternberger a guy who I know, quite frankly didn't think would get out of the top sixty. I

think Sternberger is gonna be a great weapon. They have Jimmy Graham, who's old, expensive and not that good anymore. So DeVante has out from that office. Those younger guys um that they've been kind of incorporating into the offense. It's Valdez Scantling and Equanimius Saint Brown and drawn him o Allison. Now you add Jay Sternberger again, could stretch the field a little bit. I think I think he and Aaron Rodgers are gonna have pretty good Uh. I

think they're gonna have a pretty good rapport. I think that's a really good for Packers. Washington. You were on the clock at number seventy six, Washington. What have they done all the way through? I know early I really liked what they did by virtue of the sweat trade. This is the first time they're on the clock. Okay, Well, they've done a nice job just letting Dwayne Haskins fall to them and then going to get going. Yeah, I believe they're twice before we're done tonight. Yeah, they're at

seventy six and ninety six. So yeah, that's that's what blew me away last night is they went up for Montez Sweat and didn't give away the majority of their picks to night. So make a good pick right here, and I mean I don't want them to. No, I don't either. They're killing it, but I think they've done it. They're having a very good draft. To They got my running back, they went up and got my top left tackle. And then what did the Eagles just do? They just

do sag a white side. That our saga white side. I'm kind of okay, but that's a red zone kind of weapon. I'm man on that. I'm also kind of man on that. But there are other picks I'm high on. So I think that they've had a nice little draft. Got their edge the in sweat, they get their quarterback, I have wide receiver in free safety. I'm not sure what you guys have on the neat sheet, but on my personal kneat sheet, I have wide receipt, wide receiver.

Wide receiver stands out for that. I mean Kelvin Harmon still on the board and the name if you guys get a des vibe with Kelvin Harmon going out wild comps. I saw a little bit of Michael Thomas at the catch point. I mean with his ability to high point and be strong to the football that plays. Now, he's not going to be consistently a guy that easily uncovers and creates a ton of separation. But when the ball's

in the air, it's his ball, he goes and gets it. Yeah, I mean the positive that where it's like he's he's kind of a physical guy, doesn't have a lot of speed or the foot quickness and change the direction, but he wins on physicality using his body toughness. Uh So, Kelvin Harmon I wasn't as high on as my scouting counterparts. But you know where we are, probably to the point where he starts coming into play, he might be tread well.

Harmon's there, Terry mclaurin's there, Miles Boykin's there, Riley Ridley's there, Hakim Butler's there. Yeah, there's some receivers in this draft. If they want some help, it's there for Thank you used the safety too. Chauncey Gardner Johnson's still on the board. A player I love. I know his personality might not be good for every team in the league, but Chauncey Gardner Johnson is a lot of fun. Also, they just traded that. You know, they draft those Alabama defensive linemen.

They just traded for haha, Clinton Dick's last year Deantay Thompson, the safety of Alabama, is still on the board. Also, Mac Wilson, the linebacker, still the SOB Alabama guyst is so I've obviously they have. They have Landon Collins. They gave him a gob of money. The chaser Everett is the safety starter. Uh. Paul Richardson, Josh Dockson and Trey Quinn are their top three receivers right now. You wonder about what I means line, So here comes the Redskins

pick more suspense. They're just gonna do two times six. Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and Pro Football Hall of Famer Daryl Grants quite the resume for Dary Brain. His son spent a cup of coffee in Dallas a few years ago. Nation good people right there, the Mason Nation back home as well. What the seventy six pick Bell draft? My Washington rifts that Terry mccurran, here you go, boom State. Did you just call that? Dave? I listed off like eighteen names. I'm not gonna. I don't know.

I think if you keep it under twenty names, as it counts is calling. We called receiver, look at the needs and what's available. That part was easy. I don't know about the specific name. Well, I seem really, I seem to be really really wrong about Kelvin Harmon. Then you know that people are I just saw. I mean, if this guy, if this draft has taught you anything, isn't it's that like nobody has the same idea about anybody.

I guess be variation, but this year it seems like especially so Yeah, I mean I thought I thought, you know, Harmon was like a guy I think I had thirty one on my board, you know, I mean we we talked about him, and you know, it's just kind of but one of those things where you're kind of going, okay, and they're taking guys that I mean like I got like a I like a guy like Riley Ridley too, you know, talking about and next thing you know that you know you're you're you're taking a guy that you

know you didn't you didn't have as high on the board. So that's kind of one of those things that you just wonder what people are really thinking about we had play, if we had thought about this on a deeper level, well they might not have done that. But I didn't even put it together that this is obviously Dwayne Hatson's college about that news. Patriots on the clock right now. They went with Nikkill Harry to in the first round. In the second round they took Joe Wuan Williams, and

now they come to the third round. If there's one thing I know about the Patriots, it's they take good players. They do they do. Could this be? Could I'll throw out a quarterback again. I keep throwing out here. And New England Patriots select Chase Oh the wild haired man from the North really look the best defensive end prospect for Michigan just got picked. You can't compare him to Claim Atthews just because he looks like Matthew. Sorry, yeah,

that is messed up. Nice combine, pretty nice production on the field. Never stops my guy, Chase Win. When you were about it, when I got to say, listen, we got haters in the room. I know that wini It is the better defensive end at Michigan. He'll be the better NFL player. You think so, Yeah, when you watch Rashaan Gary tape, you see that's what does that say about What does that say about both prospects, that one's

better than the other. I mean, I get it has the prototypical kind of size if you're going to kick him inside or play him outside. You know what's what's annoying is which I mean, I'm not. I'm not the biggest fan of his, but he's gonna go to New England and be like there, touchdown passes, He's just gonna be their utility guy. He's gonna have like four and a half sacks and sixty tackles and just be He'll be good there, probably because they're the Patriots. Yeah, he's awesome. Yeah,

we don't, you know, we don't. We don't need to. We don't need to gloat about where we're going. We're just gonna enjoy our Dolphins are now up the question get done all right? Got the quarterback need covered with the Josh Rosen trade. At the podium here with the Dolphins, the Subdolphins with eight into two thy nineteen NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select. Okay, that's that's my guy. Time to go protect Josh Rosen or Ryan Fitzpatrick. They shouldn't

have drafted somebody. Michael Dieter. Wow, we've reached that point of the draft for it ks Wisconsin lineman man. He does the things that Wisconsin lineman do. What that short get the job done because of their play. I Q boom, that was nice, strong play. Okay, smart player, not long, but you were talking job to Mia and and now and now you're talking about like this guy is Remington paced big ten offensive lineman of the year Branever, he

stereotypical Wisconsin get the job done guy. He's just reliable. Okay McGovern McGovern or this guy. Uh. It just depends on what style you want, though, you know, like they're not they're not the same. If you want more power, like a phone booth guy, I think Deeter's your guy. If you want more of a versatile you could probably go McGovern. So they're looking for me. They're looking for a guy that's gonna win with power and smarts, and

that's Deeter. They don't need a versatile mover. Their quarterback is not leaving the pocket. Josh Rose killing me on this this Deeter thing right now. I love Drew Sema, way know you do. I gotta tell you I like this KT. I think there's some real good players, big ten run coming in. One thing I've learned it's don't ever doubt the Wisconsin offensive lineman who has a production but me gets the job done. You watch him plays, You're watch him plays, though, and he doesn't get beat well.

And double digit starts in his career at tackle, guard and center. So the kid at Kansas State can say that, right they win the second round. No, he only started at center and right tackle, but he practiced the guard. He practiced at guard, so you thought he could play there. Here's a note. Here's a note I wrote on my note trid here. One thing I noticed about him is that he's the same player. Every tape he put on doesn't change. And he's talking about Samia like he was

like the Outland winner. I had a Bengal soap bus earlier and I got a Michael Dieter's soap bucks. Now all right for the unpopular things. I like McGovern the senior trying to tell me about McGovern. The senior really exposed him. We'll not exposed him, but short arms, I hear that hurt him. Did I hear that, short Arms? Yeah, Dane's trying to do three things at once. I love I really like that. We're getting into the contentious part of the NFL draps. This is great. I want to

see whose guy goes next. I love Semia. You need the fourth round guy on my board. Semia is a third and so is McGovern. By the way, brought us you said you had a question. Now we're eleven picks. What was that question you had about even picks away from the cowboys behind? Yeah, I was thinking about some Oh, I was thinking about the well the Rams picks in

I started. These picks are coming fast. Oh yeah, you were a complainant they were too slow ten minutes ago, Jackie Slater, I wish the Wisconsin guy silly, but yeah, out of Rams with the seventy ninth pick in the twenty nineteen NFL rap, the Los Angeles Rams select defensive fact David Long from Michigan. Yeah, I'll tell you what. They're also picking good players. I think David longs. You could say there's not a lot of consensus about that

in this room. Well, if you want to, if you want to find me the tape of David Long getting caught on, I'll pay you for it because you're gonna have trouble finding it. They're just there's honestly, just not a lot of tape on the period, like there's not And that's why I have him seventy two on my board. So, I mean, I like this pick is a good value

for the Rams. He's not the biggest guy, but he's a really good athlete, and he's very very physical down field and that works against him at times because he will be a flag magnet. But he plays suffocating coverage and you can win with guys like that. Ten picks. The run of running backs is started. I don't really

want to go that out. Let me. Let me throw this out there, boys, any consideration for a defensive end when you look at Crosby, you got for Nelson Ferguson, oh Man, Well, I think Crosby versus Ferguson versus the most productive sack artist in college football history. And Max Crosby, who does not have that sort of production at an even smaller school, but has the athletic testing that you

dream of. That's and can't you just imagine about an hour from now, they'll hold this press conference saying like we would have drafted. Yah, that's gonna be a quote to whoever they pick Cleveland Browns, their their pick is in. Okay, we still have thorn Thorn Hill, go, he went right thorn Hills in Kansas City, Kansas City. My bad there, I did not mark him off my boards. That a second round or third round shot on thorn Hill. Second that it was two picks away from the end of

the second My bad, Thornhill at sixty three. Okay, yeah, I just sometimes I do housekeeping and sometimes I don't. We're all juggling about six different things right now. It's great, Okay, let's think about Okay, if you're Cowboy fans, is it gonna come down to guys like those defensive ends or is it gonna come down to one of these safeties? Is this the safety that we that we uh that we like? I mean again, you talk about safety left that you feel good about. I don't get the impression

it's not about us. It's not about I don't I don't mean us. I'm do you, john guy, you feel good about But and that's my point, Katie, I would love that. I'm under the impression they don't love him. Maybe they love him more to think about those thirty visits boys. But again, I say Johnson, they love, I say Johnson, they love I know that, I know that Johnson. I think they have a vendetta against me, and they just want to make sure they pick guys that I

don't want them to pick. We have the Browns picking eighty. Let's go. It's Christian Kirksey. With the eightieth pick in the two thousand Nights NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selecta Taki linebacker. We are on the road of picking all the good players. I loved me some talkie talkie table. Well, dude, talk about me talkie notes. Okay, well it starts talking talking about talking about talkie. Um it starts with a negative note. But don't worry, the notes will get better.

I did see that he had a tendency to try to sneak inside of blocks from his outside linebacker spot. And he'd get trapped inside sometimes and allow runners to get around him off. But I think he does a pretty good job in terms of when he is striking guys. He will strike and work himself free. He's got some initial pop in his hands. He's a physical player. I love that part of his game. There's a little slipperiness to him. I think he will have to improve as

a tackler. He comes up empty on some tackle attempts, but he talked make himself tough to block. I like him. I like Takie Taki. My guy's got to become a more reliable finisher. But I think that dude can play. I like him. It's a good depth piece at least, so John Dorsey at the Cleveland Browns with a third round pick over eightieth overall. B y you, Danny, did you kind of see him the same way with when you're watching him. There's certainly things alike. I mean, he

did a little bit of everything. He's an edge rusher, he played the mic, he played the will, so I mean he did a little bit of everything, and I think he handled it fairly well. Plays with some speed, plays a toughness. Uh, it's a control at the point, and there are times where he'd be a little bit off balance when he's trying to finish. But you also have to talk about the character. I mean he this is a guy who's kicked out of by U at

one point, worked his way back. Uh, credits his wife as a big influence in his life in terms of turning things around. So, uh, you know he's so I think there's plenty to like about him. Okay, we have a trade going off between this uh Detroit, it's this Minnesota. It was Minnesota on the clock, it was Minnesota. We got an NFC North trade here. Okay, let me get you. We get the particulars of that trade for you as we speak. Detroit get Hawkinson in around one Johnny eighty eight,

which uh that'd be there. They would go to let's see, eighty eight to eighty one to eighty one. So Minnesota is picking at eighty eight, Uh two o four and and then Minneso Soda will come to eighty one. So just two oh four will be the reason that this pick. So seven spots cost you a seventh rounder. So yeah, seven spots, Uh, that's a sixth right. Or maybe it's a state guy who that makes a little bit of sense. A lot of things still on the boards. So some

good names on the boarded areas that they need. And uh, let's see what the perpetuate nate Detroit Lions decided to do right here, pick eighty one, which the Cowboys took Michael Gallup at last year. Oh there you go, Katie, nice memory of that. So nine picks away from the Cowboys at ninety Yeah, okay, we're still you know, we haven't seen anything from the war room yet from the Cowboys. Again, we thank you for the food that the legends folk it did. Jeff, is it tastes good? That's what I mean.

I'm sure it tastes answer to your question is yes, Buffalo chicken sandwich. Here we go. The Lions are gonna be at the podium right now. Corey Sussinger Minnesota Vikings have traded the eighty first pick to Detroit Lions. What the eighty first pick in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions select Will Harris, defensive back Boston College. Wow. Well, okay, guys, I'm gonna be real honest too. That's they were. They were.

This was one of those those this is one of those times where I think that they were they were hoping that they could sit there and draft a guy like Will Harris right there. So, uh, this is the Cowboys are gonna have to do some some re shuffling here, I think in their war room because they lost a guy that they we were thinking about drafting here at at ninety at at three ninety. I just like to imagine in my head that the Chauncey Gardner Johnson meeting

went well when he visited here. That's the way I like to picture it, because no, well, that's the way I like to picture it because I liked the player and I think he would be fun to put on the team. I agree with that part, and uh, you know, I don't know if it's realistic, but I like the idea because we got him graded as a second rounder and I like him. That's the That's the draft, though,

isn't it. I mean draft? They sat back as again, we waited for one guy, yea, and they get which they waited for one guy, which a lot of people seem to think they reached on, and then they tried to do the same thing with another guy right and a team jumped in front of him again on a guy whose grades are all over the place. Are we gonna end up having hit both of their picks on the Draft show last week when we were on Locate God,

that would be fun. I think a chance. I'm kind of like, I think you could do something better than draft Trevion Williams. I do too, but I want to be right though. I think, yeah, I think the road getting the win right there, getting Tristan Hill. I think they would give Richard to win at ninety. I know they love Isaiah, they do love Isaiah Johnson. Is it too early for any of those other cornerbacks that they love? What's a Michigan State kid? What's his name? Still there?

Justin Lay? Damon Harris is still out there? Right he is? I mean, which wants to be right? To look at it over there exactly? But fifteen Okay, let me ask you this. We got sweat eight picks. I'm gonna throw Ferguson out there again. Yep, I'm gonna throw out there

the Michigan State. What can you can you really draft Ferguson with the with the just You got to think about practicalities too, The fact that he doesn't have Seal service tonight is there, well, sir, which Hey, all the best on the podium real quick, let's go back Titans on the podium. Take it by that legend. Students, Big twelve high school football players from team across them across the Nashville These teams represent Metro Nashville public and private

schools in Davison County. They're also example commendment to team and community. So I'm not I'm all about baby community. Please welcome to your local high school students. You'm around a plot with the eighty second pick in the two thousand and ninety NFL Draft, that Tennessee tie select n Davis. No, I got Nate Davis brought us guy. Yes, gotta could scout again. I'm back. I'm back. Not a very good player, Brian. He well, you know, Charlotte guy, I'll just trying to

poke him. No, No, I know you're Friday night, Jeff. Yeah, it's gonna get long tomorrow. I'll tell you what. Though. He plays with some leverage. He's got some pop to his game, you know he is, He's got it. Yeah. The frog they're talking about the unique frogs stance his butts. It's really, really, really low room by the way. Okay, we're back in the war room. By the way, this is the wardroom at the Ford Center. So we appreciate those of folks allowing us a little bit peak and

their guys. We got to start thinking about are we was really hoping when they turned this thing on that there'd be a coach standing in the background. They've learned, Dave. I think they've learned about us and our ability to evaluate who's in that room and what they're gonna do. No, that helmet and that brought us. They know who we are. Who's in the room might be a hint. So as we're getting like I said, we're getting a little bit closer. We are we still thinking? Are we still thinking defense?

But offense? You brought up the running back. I think they really liked the Pollard kid from Memphis, and I don't think they'll take Pollard at ninety. I think save yet two picks in round four. I want to get the rudder tomorrow, which okay, I want. Okay, So they took Tristan Hill. They had safeties on the board that I mean, with the influence that Chris Rochard has, does that maybe say to you that Chris Rochard was like, we're good. Yeah, I like Xavier Woods, good player. We've

got a looka to help out Heath. This doesn't have to be a safety. So does that mean he feels comfortable at fifty eight? I mean, I'm sorry, does that mean he feels comfortable with what he's got period? Or to your point, is he saying, all right, I played ball and went away from the safety of fifty eight. Now help me out. I'd be comfortable without a safety. I think the idea of safety was appealing to me

for the Cowboys. If it were somebody like Taylor dall if I felt really good that they could upgrade the spot, let me at this spot, let me be totally. Let me be too. I just mean in defensive back, it doesn't have to be a safety. But at night we got a second round grade on lane. Yeah, don't we he six two? Don't we he's six two? Might write on that long enough. I mean Gallup was not Yeah, if I remember gallopet in a thirty Visitlas, I mean, I'm just looking at my guys. It wasn't but he

was a private workout. I'm looking at the guys on my board on the one five three board lane Gardner Johnson, David says, I don't think they like Gardner Johnson that much. Okay, we got him in the second round. We're got probably be wrong about that. Steelers are on the on the clock, they're on the podium right now. Let's see what they've got. That's the old backup quarterback. He's gonna take his horse to the old town road right there. No, that's my man,

the old quarterback, the old quarterback from them le bat. Yes, come on, man, I couldn't remember. I'm honored to be here with Pison Bryan. Oh oh god, not like nothing about that was close to being right. Looks like Charlie Batch. Oh where down? Why do you have to make fun of Brett Keisel? And then he took justin lane. Oh that's my fault, guys, I am so mad. Called Brett Keisel, Charlie Batch, Charlie badge. He did he kind of Charlie Batch face. They needed a cornerback too. That is a

great pig. Where's Charlie? What's Charlie Batch face? He's got he kind of Charlie Batch face. He got the ethnicity wrong, among other things. He looked tanned, like he's working in the Bahamas or something like that, and you couldn't really tell you did have a nice time. I didn't even look to see if there was a reaction in the war room at all. Those doesn't look like they looked like they're just hanging in there, guys. So I'm telling you,

I don't know about you, guys. The Isaiah Johnson love that I've heard from you, and you guys might have heard it as well. The Isaiah Johnson loved that this team has yeah, or I'll let you has at least I've heard. Okay. I think they would be thrilled to walk away with Isaiah Johnson at ninety. I think they would be pumped justin Lane is gone. But my point still stands is, you know, Christoph Shard says, I played nice. You got your DT at fifty eight, Now get me

a DV at ninety. That wouldn't surprise me at all. Safety corner, take your pick, pick your poison. I guess I would kind of be surprised if it's a running well the jackets, We're about to get serious here. It's either that I took up the jacket. I was thinking about biting into that buffalo chicken sandwich, me too, now that we'll miss tell this out here, don't kill me. We don't have to spend a lot of time on it. Okay. One of their thirty visits was old miss tight end

Dawson Knox. Okay, Hey, how are you feeling there? How are you feeling there? Um, Kellen Moore? When a little diversity to the offense, Let's maybe how you feeling out? Let's get a guy could stretch the defense and catch everything. How are you feeling there, Kellen Moore? Here's a guy that won't be on the field for his first year. Dane Brugler asked me, tell me this question. Answer me this question. Who do you have Hire Ferguson or Dawson

Knox Ferguson? Um, jitln Ferguson pass rusher? When's the last time Jalen Ferguson scored a touchdown? Good? Question? Scored one in college? But if he did, he scored one more recently than Dawson Knox. Okay, Dane Ferguson or Isaiah Johnson. That's closer. I think that's where where we're at. You brought him up. They like for I think they like Isaiah Johnson a lot more than we do. Yeah, I mean he's got It's just he's raws sushi. We got love you know, uh old war right, don't we have?

We have him? Right? I'm sorry, this is a serious conversation, but the Charlie Batch conversation is on the internet. Now we're going places with it. Did you know I didn't see? I mean there was thousands of people listening to us. They've put a picture of Zach Brown, of the Zach Brown Band guitar. Hey, look it's Charlie Batch. So good blogging the boys, you guys, I think, Well, tell me

this is am I foolish out their guys? Am I foolish to say, stop worrying about the visit list because they do have they're gonna put They're gonna be more guys that didn't visit than did in this draft. It depends gonna happen. It depends. Sometimes one year they one year seven of their nine picks where visit one visits. One year it was like three out of ten, Right, it depends. I think it'll end up where there's more than Ryan. Just tell you will. Harris was there one

of their targets at ninety Yeah, he's a visit. Yeah, let's fine, that's one of their targets at night. They're not all gonna be visits. But tell me about Charlie Batch. Really, Yes, you like killing you? They don't. They're not killing you. I think they think it's I can't see worth a crap. I admit it. They don't have a thirty person draft board. No, But but that goes back to my point, like, again,

we think of this draft. We think of this draft is six hundred players, right, Dane has watched a thousand people, and they probably it's about one hundred and twenty. They probably think of it as about forty honestly. I mean I'm exaggerating, but like they've got a handful of guys that they like at a handful of ranges. And I think you have to be mindful of that. And I definitely think on Night two it's too early to abandon the visit list. In my opinion, Yeah, I agree, Chiefs

at the podium, go for it. The two thousands All Decades Joystick with Joystick Chiefs Kingdom and the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs select Kaylin Saunders. Okay, defensive Town McCole, Hartman one Thornhill, and Kaylin Saunders for the Chief. Not bad. It's not a bad little haul. Is he? Is he a trust the tape guy or trust the Senior Bowl guy? Is that a fair question? Trust that back flip he did at the Senior Bowl.

Trust the traits guy. I mean, he's he played nose tackle in the three four, you know, in college, so it was tough to really allow him to just kind of let him loose and be productive. But we saw a little bit more of that at the Senior Bowl when he had one on one opportunities and he wasn't asked the two gap and take on doubles. So I think that you liked the traits and he's an interchangeable tackle. To me, you can play him at the three, can play him at the one, and you can move him

around that defensive line. I think that football characters outstanding. He has traits that you want. I just I love that he was a running back in high school and now he's a defensive tackle in the NFL. That's great. I want to see his high school tape. What did he weighs pounds or was he a two hundred and seventy pound runner. No, I mean technically they listened him as a full back. He was just a big boy. He's he's a defensive lineman on defense and a full

back on offense. It so we got Baltimore here at eighty five. Yeah, can I circling back around like we were talking about practicality, Jalen Ferguson guy the Cowboys really like still kicking around three or four picks to their to their pick in the in the draft. Can you draft that guy with what you already have here you? I mean, we have too many defensive linemen, Yes, too many defensive linemen that you're probably not gonna come and

you've replaced and you've brought into three techniques. So moving Tyrone Crawford there's probably not gonna happen. You've got Robert Quinn, You've got DeMarcus Lawrence Crawford, Taco Dorrance. You're doing it for me, thank you. Carrie Hyder? Hyder, can you draft him? And Nix? I mean somebody's gonna have to go. Well, here's the here's the Ravens. Ravens have a history, probably not always kind of messing with you here. Their first pick was Marcus Browns the best man's in the world.

I'm George Tonight. About Mouth Taylor, a twenty three year old strength athlete with cerebral pausing in Fairbury. Miles posted a video on Instagram showing him death left in two hundred pounds. That's twice his body weight at a personal record. Miles perseverance determination has calcivated the attention and admiration of millions. Miles take it away, buddy, Yeah, the game tween Nagge and the boy don't even flip got in Ferguson, What up?

What a prescient conversation by David Hellman there Jalen Ferguson off the board of eighty five, And I think you're right, Like, if they hadn't taken him, maybe it's possible. But once you've taken a three technique, I don't. I don't think it would have made sense to draft both of them, which so are you crossing off? So we're just crossing off defensive end, probably until later when if you want to do it on day three, that's fine. If you like Max Crosby, don't you take him? Though? If you

like him, you could you gonna play a snap? I am I really gonna let carry Hider stop me from taking a player that I like. No, but is he gonna play in front of Tyrone Crawford or dorns Armstrong. I mean, what's the man or talk about maybe you're bringing in your fifth or sixth end. Yeah, that's tough, and I know they really love Crosby. I feel like I feel like Richard will win out and I feel

like it will be defensive bad. I feel a strong dB vibe and I feel Isaiah Johnson, who they've been in love with, is I just feel like that's where this thing's tracking, George, if it if it were to happen that way, And I say this as somebody who we have Isaiah Johnson as a fourth round player, so we wouldn't pick Okay, But I mean I would say, I would say this that kind of works here because he's your fifth cornerback his first year in the league. Yeah,

he's not going to touch the field. You have a year to essentially say welcome to the NFL, Chris Rochard, go mold, and a year from now we expect you to play. So if I mean, if you think that the upside is that high, which I'm sure Dane. A lot of teams on Isaiah Johnson think the upside is very high. Yeah, then you could do that. At the end of three, you could take you could take that guy, which just to play Devil's advocate, fections are up on the yep Pody, let's go to ten picks away from

the end of the round. So we're talking about fourth round grades in all cases. Sick in the NFL draft, Houston Texans selectd They take Kim when there's better tight ends. There's not better tight ends. That's why there are zero better tight ends than him on the board. That was the best one. Dawson Knox, that was the best tight end on the board. Dawson Knox has fallen to you at one twenty eight, Katy, that falling. He also has some injury stuff that's pretty extensive, so that's that's a

part of it too. So Dawson's gonna get into my Dak's Raymond range. Huh, he might. Let's go a litt Dak's Raymond in the fourth round. I get my runner at my tight end in the fourth round. This is setting up where they could take a runner. Could they take it exactly what they wanted Damian Harris. They could take a runner. That could happen. Hey, I'm sorry, I read Dane's mock draft this morning. Feels like Damien Harris. I know, I just did the Isaiah Johnson bis. Is

it Hill and Harris? Is that it? Dane's a smart guy. Oh yes, oh yes he is. Is there something we're not thinking about here? Probably? Of course, there's a lot of positions. I'm just sitting there thinking, though we've talked about what's going on at right tackle. You got cam forming give me a little Drew Semia in here you go, We're going to the podium. Here, let's see the pain

season Ticketmber Brady Hellos. With the eighty seventh pick in the twenty nineteen NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select Damian Harris running back. That's a pin throw. That's that's a sarcast like. I'll respect to Damien Harris. I think he's a really good player. I think he's an even better person. But hey, guys, not what I wanted. That's okay, okay?

With that, you could still go tray ViOn Williams. Or you could do what you probably should do, which is waiting for one of your fourth round picks and either take Dexter Williams or Rodney and the Pats. Why do the Pats need Damien har All eyes are on Isaiah Johnson. Now, yeah, the Pats havee Michelle, James White and White. They got Rex Burkhead, poor James White and Rex Burkhead. I mean, yeahs you're getting let go of tomorrow. Yeah, you're probably

right the end, it's gonna be Sony and Damien. Isaiah Johnson a big time Cowboys fan. I imagine his family is partying right now with this possibility. It feels like it feels like I don't need him to play this year. I need him to be a twenty twenty starting cornerback. It's just like I need Tristan Hill to be my twenty twenty starting three technique Now Travill Williams and the mix is good player makes sense. You know Seahawks are up at eighty eight at a trade of Minnesota action. Huh,

well it will trade Seattle. Seattle is now on the clock and two oh nine. All right, I run the risk of, like I just I just said this out loud. Aren't aren't the Pats redundant at running back? Now? Yeah, let's let's see what Let's see what the Seahawks are gonna do? Right? Here go quick, yes, quick, I can't keep up at the podium, at the podium. Here we go the Seattle Street Hawks. Cody Barton, lying backer from Utah. A little bit of felt like a reach there, huh,

a little bit. But he's a he's a good player, and he flies around the field and makes plays. He's really good at that. Don't care. No, I don't care about the gonna pick off their board. No, I don't care about their draft. Yeah, they don't care. What you care about their draft? No? How about that? Colts up at eighty nine the old Aberfluce. Think Aberfluce knows what's going on in Dallas. No, I'm just doing a bit. So they took rock yours in ben Banogu and Paris Campbell.

The Patriots now have Damian Harris, Sony, Michelle Rex Burkhead, and James White. White and Birkhead are both under contract for multiple years. Get you to give anything up for either of those guys? Trade Sony show, No, no, no, no, They're not gonna trade. So many conversation in the war room. Jerry Stephen Garrett all kind of going back and forth. I would do it. I would do a day three. Will's dialing up someone on the phone right now. You don't see they're doing a good job and not letting

us know if it's an offense or defensive player. Hey, coach, just stand over there in the door. Yeah, I think they're just Rod is peeking into the ride of the screen. You just could only see part of his arm for a minute. Why did you that's Rod? Because that's the shirt he was wearing her. Okay, I just wonder, I wonder who again, they've they've got they've got names. We've all kind of talked about the names. We all talked about Johnson that as a guy that potentially could be

that that, you know, the quarterback from Houston. Yep, and though, but Stephen just hung up the phone. Will on the phone. Will has handed the phone. Okay, they pick somebody making a pick, they're making a sick Bring in the coach, show them to us. Let's see if let's see who walks in there. I'd be really interesting if it's Kellen Moore. I'd be interesting if it's a it's the offensive coach because we've kind of talked about, and we've talked about

focused a lot on these defensive things. But we'll see if in fact that maybe this is we we kind of in mock drafts had talked about a potential offensive player. That was Dane's bold call of the night. They are they're trying to keep this from us. They're trying not to do handshakes on camera. They've got the coaches of the camera and Marinelli I think, I think, but arm well, there's all right, okay, Kellen Moore is in the building, pat handshakes all around on the guy. It's gonna it's

Brett Rippon. Did they go Trevion Williams? Is that what they did? Sounds like it's gonna be offense with Kellen and they're looking with a big old smile. Jason now talking to the player, this is this is what do we got? Kids? Now they're they're gonna get We did see more? Now who else is who? All the more looks pumped. Kellen Moore is like, tra ViOn, get over here. We'll see. We'll see if in fact who it is.

We definitely know it's an offensive play. Kellen on the phone, would he love kelln would he talk to an offensive lineman. Kelen could be really excited about defense. He's a football coach. Man, would he would he talk to about they would get big Colombo in there? Lyle likely not here next year, passing everybody around? Could it be Kat's Dawson Dawson Knox. Don't you think they would call Colombo up? If? I mean,

anything's possible, Governema Riley Riddling. Oh, it's Mark Colombo lineman doga McGovern Yeah, it could be Mia This this I bet you, I bet you this is one of Mark Colombos. Let's go get a tough guy. This might be McGovern. Yeah, this might be one of those guys that you know, you know, he's a center guard. Maybe the moving Connor Williams. Yeah, you know which I'm not. I'm not against at all. Like the way Connor Williams seeing the picture of the day posted of him today, man looks like he has

remade his body quickly. Yeah, so we're we're waiting Zach Mark. Yeah, the Colts pick is ends. We're waiting on the Cowboys that they'll be right behind him. With Mark Colombo hugging, it's gonna be some offensive lineman of course. And my guest, again, is this the way of protecting yourself? If, in fact, Dame, we've talked about this wither with McGovern. You know, you get at Joe Looney's contract is up. Here's you get

a guy that's a center guard. You're not one hundred percent sure what Travis Frederick is going to be exactly did we undersell that? I mean, all the reports on Travis have been no, no. He I had saw him at the Mudbug Bash last week and he was very positive about everything. I mean himself. He's always positive though, he is very but he's fine. Travis is fine. Yeah, So until we have Connor Williams questions or do we have Lyle Collins questions, we don't like to move around,

but I'll tackles. Are there any tackles there? Doga corojuiced, I don't think so. So I like my guests, is that I think that's early. I think the pick would if you're picking an offensive, I'm here's I think it's McGovern seven second America, not Man of the Year, he's Manville. I'm not gonna say a single word about the Tennessee Titans record against the Indianapolis Coat because I was a Puna, and there's no reason for me to talk about them like that. Being said, we did not punt much against

the Tennessee. Being said, the Indianapolis coaches are the hottest team, not only in the AFC South, but the entire NFL. Hey young nucleus surround the Nerd Andrew look. Two old pros were drafted last year. Turn this year. Hey, with the eighty ninth pick of the two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the indian Out plus coats Jim Marsay and Chris Ballard select future Hall of Famer linebacker Prom Stanford. Bobby Oh crikey, Oh, put batman in the Monday night football booth. Oh, Bobby

pretty great? Put him somewhere else. Wow, last thought, he's making a pick in the NFL draft. It's the third round. I don't need you up there for a hundred especially we're trying to figure out O the King of just make the pick. But that was awesome, y'all like that one? Yeah? Dan, you have anything on Bobby ookureki Uh. He has a length that really makes a lot of offensive tackles. Jails thirty four and a half inch arms for a linebacker.

It's silly Uh, senior captain. Coaches talking really highly about his intangibles. Uh, he's a guy who's productive, uh, almost a hundred tackles the last two years. A guy that's played a lot of different spots and needs to get better. Even though he has that length, he's you get better taken on blocks. But he has the place, be the length, the intelligence that you want in the position. He's gonna be a nickel linebacker, special teamer. I think you'd develop

into more. Okay, Bobby Okariki, I had him kind of that same same area of the draft with Taki Taki. Yeah, we kind of if you look at our one oh five three board, we had Taki Taki Okareki right in that area. That was probably around the right round the fifth round, so a little early for us. There about a round a round, right, Okay. Picks in for the Cowboys we've seen in the war room. Yeah, I've been

in for a while. We got Mark Colombo came in and gave Jim McGovern Yeah, that's what makes the most Bobby Evans, Connor mcgonny and to announce a pick will be right. I believe this is ray Field right, If I'm not mistake let's go to podium. I hope too Tall announced the d tackle and Ray fild Right's gonna announce an offensive line. Sure that's not Troy, You're not wrong. Time to turn out the life baby. How about them

Dallas Cowboys? All right? Don't Raphael right? Come on? I love it, but not in big In the twenty nineteen NFL draft, Well, the Dallas Cowboys selection is Calmer McGovern, guard from Penn State. Yeah. Connor McGovern. Okay, this is uh, check your Jeff, check your microphone. You might have popped yourself off there there, No, I'm on Hello, Hello, Hello, there you go. Yeah, Dane. Anybody want to talk about Connor McGovern here. I played both center and guard at

Penn State. He has that versatility that you're looking for. Uh. Sometimes, what I had trouble with the Connor McGovern he'd forget his feet at times, and he'd rely on his upper body and now get him off balance. He'd start leaning. That's where things kind of broke down. But when he kept blockers or when he kept defenders in front of him, he was able to tie him up and shut him down.

So there's a lot to like about him. Mostly that versatility that that's key because he could be interchangeable anywhere you want on the interior. We had him as a third round player on our board. We had him as the top offensive lineman if they were going to go that route left on our board. So hard to be upset with that one. For me, I saw a better run blocker than pass protector at this point for him. But a guy that's played center and guard makes me

wonder if Connor Williams might be a right tackle year. Yeah, that's what's if that's your best offensive lineman available and you believe in having that year long term plan. I can get behind that pick. I could totally understand that pick. Yeah, that's a third round graded player for us going at the end of the third round there and nothing wrong with that, which and I just I just tweeted this. I don't think it's a bad pick. It is curious

because of everything we just said. And if that's the case, if you if you're planning to move Connor, what's this guy gonna do in the meantime, Or if you're gonna move Connor right now, what's Connor going to do in the meantime? You know, Like I mean, I think sounds like a great pick in twenty twenty. But that's it mean right now, I think this is more about a pick in twenty. I think this is they're drafting for

twenty twenty. Yeah, well, this pick I think is for twenty twenty because I'm gonna be your game day and active for the next seventeen weeks. I don't, I don't. I don't think they'll do that with him. Might be Joe Looney might have a situation on this, Yeah, Joe Looney, who played sixteen games for you last for saving our season, Joe getting Oh no, exactly. But I think with Connor

mcgoverned here, you know, I remember this very well. I remember Drew Fabrianage coming by my desk and this was well well back in January, and he's like, hey, you need to take a look at this Connor Connor mcgoverned, you need to take a look at him. We really like him. He's a got tough guy, physical guy, plays a couple of positions. And I think Daney and I I think you and I looked at film to other about him, and you know I did. I agree with Dane a little bit. I think the guy gets a

little over extended at time. But I do think he gets the second level and I think he's got some power. I think he's got some strength. But I mean to me, I just I think that they're kind of looking at Joe Looney being on the last year's deal maybe and maybe that it's like they want to move on. But this could be Connor McGovern sits for a year, gets stronger. You know, they don't have to play him anywhere, and he might be be a backup center, you know, if

something happens again. You guys brought up the thing with Travis freg even though talking to Travis Frederick for a long time last week, he feels good, ready to go. Zatons never missed a game. This is a This is a situation where all of a sudden, Connor McGovern is playing left guard and then Connor Williams is playing right tackle because Lyle Collins is gone, and it gives you a chance to get Connor McGovern maybe a little bit more stronger, develop him a little bit and then go

go from there. This might be the highest rated guy on their board at the time. Yeah, you know that that could be very well. The case that we're atine he was. He's my eighty fourth player, So yeah, I would not be surprised at all if he was their highest graded player At this point. It's just hard to get five guys in a room covering the draft to go yes when you pick an offensive linemen. We saw that happen in Atlanta. Now, Atlanta took a guy that I would have gone, what they took U with McGarry,

I would have what, yeah, what? But yeah, this guy, I think it's got some versatility to him. I think he's got some toughness to him. I just kind of see this as one of those things. And I'm not trying to blow smoke up everybody's rear here. I'm just saying they're kind of thinking about what's going to happen with this offensive line, you know, money wise. I mean they're gonna have to make some decisions on that. I mean, kudos to them for, you know, keep throwing resources at

your offensive line. I mean, it wasn't that good by their standards last year? Right, Um? Okay, So that's that's it. It's funny because it's it's the dichotomy of the draft. You know, Like at pick fifty eight, a lot of people think maybe they reached for Tristan Hill here, maybe they take the best player available. Certainly looks like it not a drastic position of need, still not exciting, and they well, yeah, like it's almost like you can't win. You're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Like it's a smart pick that makes sense, that might not help you in twenty nineteen verse a guy that you might maybe reached for it earlier. You guys made some really passionate arguments for taking the corner from the University of Houston. I would I'd rather have McGovern than Isaiah Johnson. McGovern's rated higher on my board. Mine too, And yeah, I think what are we doing? Are we are we talking about? Are we talking about making a shift in our defense and the way we do things?

Or are we just are we doing it? That's my question. I think that they're talking about it. I think they're talking about it and they're not sure. Yeah, I think they're I think they're in just the way they want to play defensive, the longer corners and things like that. Yeah, because there's a big difference in three inches you starting about one inch, I you know, three inches a big difference.

These were the this similar picks at different positions, right, Like, you don't need a cornerback right now, but you're thinking toward the future. If you can't bring back Byron Jones, you don't need an offensive line, have a ton of money tied up in your offensive line. Think about this the same way you think about all this stuff Millie Collins, Byron Jones, Anthony Brown, Lyle Collins, Yle Collins, and Joe Loody.

It is. It's the same thing as what we're thinking about corner where Byron and Anthony Brown have one year left, except here we're just talking about Lyle Collins. And I think if you're in that room and you're wondering how to address it, If I look at the offensive tackles on our board and say, hey, guys, what what are we gonna do a year from now, my answer, I'm looking at the board and going, oh, I don't know a card. What if we have a guard on our team,

they could play tackle bang. Problem solved. Let's go pick now player in the interest of him being as good as possible. Do you consider moving Connord now you've got Davier Suaphilo, I'd take what now? Now? We're gonna get wild here, and I'll get wild with you. I would is he a backup center? I would flip Lyle Collins and Connor Williams today and let Lyle Collins play out his last year as a left guard where I've seen him.

I believe we're gonna give him on the call here in a minute, We're gonna get him on the call Jets pick or whatever. Now that's okay, we'll keep talking here. We keep talking. Yeah, we'll just keep talking about this because we're it's it. You're looking at this and you're saying, okay, I think this is a move, and then the USC tackle and doga is that we say it? It's gone to the Jets there, So we've Pipkins went to Yeah, we've had a couple of offensive linemen actually go here.

Uh so this pick is ninety two? It is that to the Jets, right is or is that ninety three? Which ninety three? That's ninety two for the Jets. They traded. They traded, Okay, so that's the Jets there at ninety two, and so yeah, I think that to me, it's it's more about what they're thinking about with Lyle Collins that's well, and what they're I think that's where they're they're trying.

They're they're getting a jump on this by getting a guard in here to learn and develop and get stronger, and then they're gonna kick Connor Williams to the outside, like just like they did Lyle Collins. But that's my point is, don't you want to give Connor Williams some time to adjust to playing tackle in the NFL? You think you, I mean, you think he'll be good if you move him there next march Man. We were evaluating him as a player at University of Texas playing left tackle,

weren't we? Yeah? But we were? Did we? Did we bulk him up? Yeah? I mean go, yeah, question, I don't mind him being bigger and playing tackle. I mean yeah. I mean if if the Cowboys coaching staff he moved quicker in Lyle Collins, I promise, Oh yeah, I promise. An afterthought for twenty twenty though, right, But what I'm thinking is I'd be open to making that move today. Flip those two one thing I might killing to play,

though maybe it wouldn't because what if Connor Williams. I'm playing pure hypotheticals here, Let's say Lyle Collins is much betterer than Connor Williams, and Connor Williams doesn't take a step and a Lile Collins, maybe you could get at a reasonable rate back. I'm saying he just has an average. You're like last year Connor Williams doesn't take that step. Maybe you might be interested in getting in, maybe just replacing Connor Williams with Connor McGovern. We're looking way ahead also,

the quarterback. You're about to give thirty million dollars to his best friends with Le Collins. I think I think that's a good point. I think they're looking ahead to just overall their how they're gonna have to pay these guys, which nobody loves Lyle Collins more than I do. Right, he went to LSU. He's a good relationship in the locker room. But it's beyond obvious that they just can't afford to keep him here. You saw Um Brown, the New England tackle. Like I'm spacing on his first name.

They just gave him seventy million in Oakland. Yeah, Lyle Collins. Tray Tray Brown, Yeah, Tray Brown got seventy million. Lyle Collins is going to get paid that's like, there's very little doubt in my mind. I don't think he's here next year. But that's interesting. Miles sport And by the way, we just went to the Baltimore Ravens. He couldn't wide receiver for Notre Dame. He couldn't be on the trade block now right, that's interesting. It's very interesting. I mean,

and I made this. I made this very interesting. I made this call on Twitter, you know, when all that taco stuff went down, I said, you want to trade a real guy, traded Lyle Collins? Yeah, that'll get you something. Yeah, but you're I mean, but we're late now, well, we're we're loaded. Don't think we're late. What would you give? What would you think? You can not saying we had we gotta trade him tonight, but we got a while. What do you have time? You're going you're talking about

for next year's pick, right, can't? Yeah? If this team is supposed to take the next step, then I want Lyle Collins on the roster. That's just me, I mean, is it this? I mean, look, there's a lot of players that we liked. It did go off before you picked at ninety, but I mean, we're talking about trading the second round or a third round or whatever you could get for Alcohlins a fourth, would it be a fifth? But well what do you get? I was thinking a

third round or contract third at this point. Yeah. I think he still might be worth it, Like if a team with cap space that felt comfortable resigning him did the deal. Yeah. I mean he's good and he's worth it. The quarterbacks, he's talented. I think that will matter. Well, oh yeah, I mean him and Daker are very tight. Uh no, no, no, no, I'm just in a salary cap league. That can't matter. I I just this team

is better if he's on it. Oh. I would use it as a negotiating tactic, Dak, how much do you like? It be interesting tonight the questions that are asked and how they answer the questions about this and what we'll get some clarity, Yeah, and we'll get hints. And I have a feeling that we're gonna get Connor Connor McGovern in here in a little bit on the phone and well, you know, we'll talk to him and maybe he's give us a little idea of what they've kind of talked

to him about. I'm sure Mark Colombo made his way to state college, or had a chance to visit with him at the combine, and and and would go there. So it's Trent Brown, by the way, I think Trey Brown said Trey. I keep wanting to call him Troy because of the famous you know, giants selection is a giant star on the clock. This is going to be this will be the last pick before we get into the compensatory picks. That would be the Washington Redskins will lead that off. How about David Tyree. It will be

the uh, the guy that's uh announcing the pick. This is three ninety five, and then uh, then we will get into the first of the compensatory picks. All those start in the third round. The red Skins at ninety six, New England at ninety seven, Jacksonville at ninety eight, the Rams at ninety nine, Caroline at one hundred, New England to get at one. O. Excuse me, I messed that up because the Rams too? Who does that too? Oh? I just god, We'll get there, but get there. Yeah,

I can't remind writing something. My guy Jacks del Rush. They passed on Josh Allen in the first round. They get O'Shane Zimmonez from Old Dominion. There you go, zimonezzimoneztion. Okay, let's uh, let's welcome uh the newest member of the Dallas Cowboys to our program, to our draft coverage here on Dallas Cowboys dot com and Wind oh five three. It's Connor McGovern. Connor welcome, congratulations, Thank you very much.

I'm excited to be here. Oh good, Hey listen, Okay, we saw a very happy Mark Colombo in the room the uh, the offensive line coach in the draft room for the Cowboys. So first contact with Mark? Or was there something with the team that you had contact with before? Was this something at a pro day the combine? When did you really have some first contact with the Cowboys? This was my first contact tonight. Really wow wow? Yeah. So how did you feel when you saw that area

code on your phone? I was relieved and I answered the phone and I was just so overly excited that that just everything went out on my head kinda and just still living in a surreal moment right now. So why did you find out on the phone? Are you a center? You guard? You a little bit of everything. I'll see you when I get down there, they say, I think the versus stilly aspect's going to help out

a lot. Connor is there, you know, and we've we've watched you, and every guy who's sitting here they're talking to you right now, has had the opportunity to sit down and watch you on tape and study you. And you know, everybody was very positive. We always felt like that you were of the lineman that were left, one of the best that could be available. And the cowboys. In fact, I thought thought this very same thing of you. Though. Is there a position though that you feel more comfortable?

And I know you're gonna give me an answer. I could play any where you want me to play, but there's there's some spot that you you feel like, Okay, hey, if you watch my tape and me play it here, I kind of feel a little bit better about that. Or or how do you how do you go about that? Obno see wherever UH coach wants to put me at play? I have no polen play in any of five positions. Um, it's basically right down the line, very comfortable play any both.

I like that setup of the whole communication aspect, but also I've had a lot of reps of guards I'm very comfortable either one Connor. It's interesting, you know, it's it's draft night. It feels like it was yesterday, but it's been what five six years since the Cowboys drafted and Travis Frederick, Zach Martin. Uh. You know, coming up through high school and college, I have to imagine you have some type of impression of the Dallas O line and probably even maybe a little surreal getting a call

from them. Just what's your your knowledge and experience of the guys down here. I know, since I got in the college, always watching the Cowboys O line just because they're depinnacle like everyone to be like everyone wanted to be like them. Then they got a Zikuel Elliott and basically just running over defenses in the league, and so just watching them and kind of molding my game, and as an old line at Pensay would watch them just how well they played, as a union of their chemistry,

just everything was perfect. What's more fun protecting the passer or run blocking? Um? I love them both, but I love putting a guy on his back. So I'd say run run blocking? Nice? What do you know? Go ahead? No? No, I had a silly question. You go ahead, Well, what do you know about Texas, Connor, Uh, Texas. I've only been the Texas once in my life. That was for the Army. All American bull bachelot senior year high schoo Well, I don't really know much about that. What's your favorite movie,

favorite movie all time? Yeah? Uh, Step Brothers. Oh yeah, fit right in. Welcome to perfect Okay, well listen, Connor, thank you so much for your time to see me, and congratulations to you. All. All the guys that you're talking to tonight will be at your mini camps, be locker around you. You'll learn to hate us, I'm sure. But we'll we'll be happy to come. We'll be comp we'll we have to come up and shake your hand

and introduce ourselves. So akin look forward to see you down here and again congratulation you and uh, we'll see you down the road. Okay, thank you very much. I appreciate Let's go to karate and the garage. Connor, Yeah he heard it. I'm sure, I'm sure. Yeah, Connor McGovern right there, the newest member of the Dallas count Okay, we're now into the compensatory. I think we are. Uh, we're at pick ninety six thirty two sixty four nineties. This would be the last pick before the competition. No,

I think we're in. I think we're in now. I think this is the Buffalo Bills. And let's go. We'll go to the podium. Now we again, we've got these compitsory picks. Let's go to the podium and kind of catch her breath a little bit. Hello, Nashville, this is Harol LeBlanc. She is a thirty three years season ticket holder for the Buffalo Bill. She is here to make the selection with ninety six pick in the two nineteen

NFL's ramp the Buffalo Bill. Slack Dawson, Oh my guy, Well, Dawson Knox finally off of the Bills, might want to get themselves a tight end. Well, that makes a lot of sense for them to go get a good pass catcher with great hands. Oh, such a good route runner too. Okay, stretches the fielding so fast. He's so underutilized. He's so damn good. Why did he only catch thirty nine balls. He's not a he's not a blocker, and he played in that crappy offense. He's got he's got a lot

of potential. We'll all agree on that. There's a lot of potential for Dawson. We were all we were all very critical of watching the tape of him, and then all of a sudden, Katie went back at one night and got him a bottle of whiskey, yea, some Balconi's whiskey, and sat down and started watching Dawson Knox. You can talk about some of the things. I mean, you know, you just kind of thumbnailed some traits, but what really made you change your mind about the players? Well, you

don't see a ton of um. You don't see a ton of production because they didn't throw it to him much. He's not a blocker. I'm not trying to I'm not. He's more of a big wide receiver type of guy. But what I saw. What I saw is that it was gonna be a situation where they do try to throw it to him and he might be covered, and

he just makes this catch with his hands. He started snatching it in the catch radius right, and then you start seeing him get separation the outward break, you know, after taking a linebacker up the field or taking a safety up the field. I just think he's a guy who, if used correctly, could be very effective. Okay, we'll go

to the podium with the Rams making their selection. Hey, Bobby Heavans, sorry about that, Kyler Murray both of his tackle Yeah, Bobby Evans, I think you know, honestly, I think the Cowboys were looking at Bobby Evans as well. Backup plan there. Yeah, this was this was the thing. When it with with Connor McGovern and Bobby Evans. I'm kind of getting a little bit whispers. Those were a couple of names that were would potentially be on the

clock for the Cowboys to consider. So Bobby Evans, he is uh the offensive tackle uh Uversity, Oklahoma, and he's going to the Los Angeles Rams. Why's our guy Drew Semia is still on the board. You know what someone's going to get a heck of a player is Bobby Evans from Allen. Yeah. Yeah, So Allen, Texas just had three players taken in the first three rounds of the draft. Correct, Holy well they got like eight thousand kids at that school. Yes, we do have about eight thousand kids at that school.

There's a reason we win. Maybe you divide that thing up a little bit. So Jacksonville is now on the clock. We're again in the competititory phase of the draft. This realized. Sorry, Brian, no no problem. Cowboys drafted Tristan Hill, so you got your prediction right. They went offense and defense, so I whipped again. I said they would move, and they hung tight twice. You know what they tried to move, Dave was er. I think they honestly tried. I'm over two.

Here see let's go the podium and Josh Scoby let a kicker. They're up today. The Jacksonville Jaguars select Quincy Williams, linebacker Murray State, Murray States. Ain't those some Murray State. He's not familiar. He's small, I mean he's he's just a little guy, but he flies around the field. Um, that's surprised to see him in the top one hundred picks. I thought he had a chance to be a Day three pick, and here we are in the top one hundred. He makes it an appearance, but uh, tested pretty well.

But again he's a smaller player. I know some teams are even looking at him as a safety. So it'll be interesting to see how the shiom me some measurables on him. Do you have any in front him? Five ten and a half, I saw go ahead, Dan, Sorry, No, I've got to look him up. I don't know him off Handka on TV they flashed five ten and a half. Okay, so you're right. He is a shorter guy that people

talk out. Maybe play him as a safety with Jack Sinville loves those fly round linebacker defensive They got two twenty five round of four or five six at his pro day. All right, so this is the linebacker. We're at number ninety nine with the third round again, we've got the Buccaneers now their pick is in. It's Carolina, the Rams again and in Baltimore to end the night, and they get us ready for the scouts day tomorrow. Yeah, and uh so that would be that's we got our guy.

That's why we got our buddy Dane Brugler sitting to our right here because he's gonna hammer these kids tomorrow. But exciting day again. The Cowboys will have two picks in that round, the fourth round, so we will be here to cover it wall to wall for you and finish this thing out. Uh, it will be with you tomorrow.

Can I can I ask you a question because rob Us, I think I think you are way more in on getting the runner don't you feel much better if Travin Williams were to Slider or whoever it maybe Jalen Moore, I know, is your guy from Appalachian State. Don't you feel way way better about getting a runner in the fourth round than the thirdh Yeah, I mean I wanted to runner the third I did. I mean I was

because Trevion Williams is kind of my pet cat guy too. Yeah, I mean we gotta, we gotta tough it through four more picks, but he's still out there. Yeah, well we'll see. We know they like the Pollard kid. Yeah that doesn't mean anything. Here goes. They just drafted a kid they'd never talked to. So yeah, that's interesting. Yeah, you were letting go of the visit list. You were right. There's other players and buccaneers at the podium. Sorry, Okay Field. Sorry.

With the nine and ninth pick and a two thousand and nineteen NFL draft the top of a book in the select Mike dB Kentucky, Mike Edwards safety from Kentucky. We talked about the other night, good player. What or they productive? Damn? What were they? What the big defensive banks in Kentucky? I mean all of the years. All right, KT you kind of, you know, being a little snarky about him, But talk about Mike Queens Johnson. I don't like Mike Edwards as much as you guys do. So

there's there's my issue, okay. But I think I probably had problems with safety on tape like I always did, because safeties can get boring quickly. Dane was going somewhere with Mike Edwards. It's a really productive player, over three hundred and fifty tacks over his career, double the interceptions. He was being dinged up with injuries over the pre draft process, so we need to get a chance to see him a lot at the combine and things like that.

But just a productive player. Who I mean, it doesn't always look pretty, but I thought he was a reliable tackler, thought he could hold up in coverage. I think he's interchangeable, can can do a lot of things. So at this point with a safety group, um, you know, we're getting down to some of these names that I think Mike

Edwards he fits nicely in the top one hundred. Chauncey Gardner, Johnson turned off a lot of teams maybe you know the world that was one of those things, and you know, we we had he came into the visit here and you know he's a chip on the shoulder guy. Yeah, you know. And then and you know he kind of some those mighty kids that there's a reason why, you know, they could back it up. A lot of those kids

can back it up. But we'll see again he's he's one of those guys I kind of had up on the board and now he's he's slide through this draft as we speak. So Carolina pick is in at one hundred and the next pick is the New England Patriots. Can I put in the weird Rams? Now? Oh? The Rams are at which one? The Rams have the Patriots pick at one on one? I believe pots we're not updated. That's okay, yeah, okay, okay, okay, okick. So that's right,

that's right. I'm sorry about that. As they traded it by they got it back, that pick went to the that pick went to New England, went to it went from he took it back to the Rams. And now it's it's like one o two. Their show in their show in Minnesota is on the clock at one o two. I can't keep any I'm trying to keep up myself here as we speak. I thought I saw a New England pick coming up. I was gonna put in the Will Greer call for New England before the night was over.

Now Minnesota one o two, and then the Patriots are still a one on one. Right, I could have sworn the rams. They're saying, Minnesota, we haven't seen the Carolina pick. We're gonna figure it out and maybe yeah, it says New England is next. New England has the next pick at one oh one, and I'm putting in the Will Greer call. Okay, takers, Uh how much dollar? Well, I can't discuss the amount right here on Dallas Cowboys dot comentary millions of people, even though we got wind Stars

one of our major sponsors. So yeah, I'm willing to bet the Greers off the board to Carolina. Okay, katinsk tip, Kim stays tipping. I'm not tipping. I got family in Carolina. You're such a liar. I do. My dad's side are all from the Carolina live in Charlotte, um which county county outside I don't make it out there goes here? Shut your laptop? Are you? Are you? They're stretching it out for TV though this last night. Just do the draft,

don't stretch it out. You know, I'm saying, who does the NFL network think like this crazy audience that they got to get maximum viewership at ten twenty on a Friday. They got us all here, don't they. We do this for a living, and the ones on Dallas Cowboys dot Com and by the way, fashion, we want to thank

everybody around the world's listening. And there's a lot of folks, a lot of folks we love out there all over the country here in United States and then but also around the world that are huge cowboy fans that love the draft. I mean we talk to folks all the time about draft. Yeah, exactly, the you know, France and Saudi Arabia and in England and you know, all over Germany, everybody, Mexico. I mean, we've got guys all over in Dallas, all over the country or the world. Excuse me them, We

really really do appreciate you. So, okay, we're waiting for Carolina to have this pick. They are dragging this They're trying to get this thing to the bottom of the hour so they could get to their post post draft show and uh then go from there um. Anyway, Katie, you killed me with you're you're from Carolo. You ruined the conversation leading up to what are we to say? Okay, Katie, if it facted, it may not be in. They haven't

made the pick. If it's Will Career. If it's Will Greer, you're in charge of the sky and report for Will Grim. I mean if people are tweeting it, like if if actual reporters or here, it is here, it is, let's pick this guy. Charles trying to maintain the illusion of mystery, You douche. We're trying to put in the call. Ask me that's good. Keep pounding, b keep pad um. I just want to say we've got it in for the North Caldina stop Carolina area. I do have time for

my small town. Has Bill charged with my family? In two NFL draft, the Carolina put up the Caldina Powder select Will Career quarterback. Yeah, you know what I mean. They needed a backup quarterback. We're talking about that Cam Newton coming off shoulder surgery. Uh, it's something that you needed right there. Will Greer's Jeff's guy. That is my guy. Yeah, my guy, Jeff. I don't think he has the arm

strength of the other quarterbacks. But he's accurate and he's got touch, and I think that's something about that guy. I think every time that we talk about him, Dane mentions the words rhythm. He's a rhythm passer, where when he gets into that rhythm, I do. I think he has as good or better ball placement and overall accuracy as anybody in this class. Now, how often can you get a guy to come around on making some poor

decisions over the course of a game. How well can you work with a guy on the way that he responds to pressure. But I think Will Greer, if you keep him clean, you're at the end of the third round here, I think he's got a chance to end up being an NFL starter. So I think I think that's a really good pick at this spot, because if you find a starter there at the end of the third round, as we know around here doing it at the end of the fourth round, you hit a gold mine.

So I think that's a great pick. Connor McGovern's Twitter handle is Condor McGovern. I'm this guy sounds like he's got some personality to him. Yeah, I'm excited. Did you click on follow everybody on the Cowboys up. We're friends. Dan kind of talk us through a little bit about Will Greer as well, and you and you're one of those guys and rightfully so it's been critical a big twelve off of defenses. Is he a product of maybe some poor defense or is this guy really legitimate an

outstanding player? There's things alike about him. Um, you know, like Jeff said, he's a rhythm passer, and when he finds that rhythm, he can be a deadly thrower, especially deep his deep ball Texas Longhorns to tell you about his deep ball. Yeah, he did a nice job in that game. But you know, I think he's a guy that you feel comfortable coming in as a backup and then you need him as a spot starter then okay.

And I think that's what the Panthers are kind of looking at value of a quarterback that you can rely on if you need him to step in and start a game for you. And I think that's what you have in Will Greer. But the decision making it can be maddening at times. Too many prayers. I mean, he's throwing off his back foot, his momentum is going backwards, So there's too many things that scare me about Will Greer to everything. He's going to be a long term

starter and have success at the next level. But he does enough where I feel pretty comfortable that I'd like to have him my quarterback room as my backup and a guy feel comfortable putting on the field if I needed him to, well, his teammate just with behind him. At to the New England Patriots, Yandi could Juiced the offensive tackle West Virginia, and so you get Will Greer highlights,

and then you get could Juice highlights. Katie. You you were doing a lot of offensive line and stuff, So talk a little bit about Couljuiced and what you saw with him could Juice. Pulling up my notes there, Okay, here we go, six four almost six four and a half. I'll round up six five three twenty left tackle. I saw a pretty good athlete, actually a little top heavy sometimes and I can't get off balance a little bit. But you can see him the athleticism to get out

and run a little bit. Yeah, and you have to do that at West Virginia in that offense, you might have to get and run. But sometimes it's like there's a lot of work in progress to this guy. You got the length, you got the size, you like the athleticism, there's a lot of balance issues. Okay, well, let's go to the final pick of the night. The Minnesota Vikings

own it at three one o two oh. Great with the one hundred and second pick and the two thousand, two thousand nineteen NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select Alexander Madison, running back Boise State. Alexander Madison. Alexander Madison, our runners still on the board, brought us for tomorrow. Absolutely, yeah, yeah, wee options yep. So Cheff, you you're Mike, You're iure mic for there we go, got it right there, idiot, Okay, so we got Dane. If you would tap us out

for the night. Here with this pick made by the Minnesota Vikings, Ali Sander Madison, the running back from Boise State, good sized runner, five eleven, two hundred twenty pounds, physical, refuses to go down. I don't think there's anything special about his athletic profile. But he runs with energy, runs with determination, and he can help you as a as a pass catcher out of the backfield. He's he's also one of the youngest players in this draft, not yet

twenty one years old. So he's been productive at Boise State. And like I said, I don't think there's anything special about this player, but he's just he could be a solid, reliable guy, right, really steady player. Okay, before we get out of here, I'm like leave this thing in the bottom of the hour. We got about four minutes to kind of do some things that we need to do. I want do you want to play the Connor McGovern

secret audio. So again he told us this was his first time he had some contact with the Cowboys, so this ought to be some fun. Let's go to it. Yeah, will McClay with the cowboys? Have somebody wants to speak to you, all right, this is Jones what the Cowboys? How are you doing, sir? Hey, Connor, We're proud to call you and tell you you are now Dallas cowboy. Thank you very much, sir. I appreciate that. Boy. Are you joining hell acious offensive line? And it's well, it's

a compliment without these guys. Thank of you now, I mean it's a compliment, sir. Congratulations, Connor, thank you, thank you very much. Our head coach wants to talk to you, sir, Connor. Yes, how you doing? Congratulations? Man, Thank you very much. Hey, we're awfully excited to draft you, to bring you to the Cowboys. You got a chance to be a hell of a football player, and uh, thank you. Yeah, you're

You're absolutely what our team is all about. So can't wait to get you in here and get you to work. I'm excited to come down there. All right, congrats, all right, it's a great day. Thank you. You can hear the confusion at least kind of like, yeah, he sounded like you didn't completely believe what was going on. Yeah, you're thinking who Jason Garrett was, because I don't think Jason Garrett ever said his name. It is kind of very covert.

When Will McCleary goes Connor Cowboys someone Jones Jones Jones. Okay, as as we as we do finish the night here, I just kind of want to go around the room. We'll all be together here tomorrow again. It's the day of the Scouts that we like to talk, and everybody here will, uh well, we'll we'll put on a polo and go for it tomorrow and sir and really hunkered down. We got rounds four through seven tomorrow and we'll have a lot of fun to make this happen, She said, Polo.

And I'm looking at Kat over here about me. Cowboys Polo for tomorrow? Yeah, why not? That's we got to do. But I'll start with you, Jeff Kavanaugh, and uh and kind of give me some of your thoughts going in tomorrow. Uh, you know, cowboy thoughts, general thoughts, your draft, look at your board, kind of see we set a little bit and catch your breath and tell me what you got. Uh. It hurts my heart a little bit that the NFL doesn't like Mack Wilson and I did as I still

got an Alabama linebacker way up at the time. But for the Cowboys, I think we've pointed this out multiple times. They are going to evaluate the players and pick the players that they like. So the Tristan Hill pick, for me, there's gonna be players that I preferred over him in that spot. But when you look at what they're trying to do, I totally get it because you've been telling us for months they're hunting undertackles. That's what the Cowboys

are doing. And I think they got to the point where he was much like Dave noted this, much like DeMarcus Lawrence, to ye that they got him. He was their last undertackle, right, and I think that he was the last undertackle to a lot of people. Yeah, that has the ceiling of being a good pass rusher from the interior, So I understand that one. And then Connor

McGovern being picked there. To me, that's no different than if they'd grabbed a corner and we'd have said, oh, well, yeah, Byron and Anthony Brown are about to be up, and the same thing. On the offensive line, it's just lyle Collins. You've got a guy on a team that's invested a lot in the offensive line that I don't think you can keep doing it with that many players, So you're probably gonna have to move on from one in a year. And he was right towards the top of our board

when they picked him. So not a lot negative that you could say about that one, at least not where I sit. And tomorrow, just pick the best available players. There's guys that will have that are linked to the Cowboys, but they're not in a situation where they have a really pressing need. At this point, you're not going to update upgrade your box safety, I don't think so. Now we're just looking for guys that can make the team, that have long term prospects to be something, and probably

a runner at some point to be Zeke's backup. David Hellman I said this earlier in the broadcast, but I think that's my lasting impression from tonight is you saw both sides of the draft strategy today. I think you know Tristan Hill could turn into a really good player.

I don't dislike the pick at all, but I think it's fair to say maybe they reached a little bit to get a guy that they absolutely coveted, like Jeff said, he's the last guy, and then on the opposite end of the spectrum, they drafted a guy that they don't need this year because maybe he was the best player on their board. Maybe they're reading the tea leaves knowing that they're going to need him in the future. But

that's both sides of the draft. Teams do things with need in mind, and then on the opposite side of that, you picked the best player available, regardless of how much you need him. I think I've probably said ten dozen times this spring that I thought that they were gonna stop gap this offensive line situation and worry about it next year. But if he was far and away the best option left on their board, and I can't argue that he was, then I think it's smart, very very

much expected Hill to be the pick. Did not expect mc govern at all. But I can dig both of the picks, so feel pretty good about it. We've done this for years. I need my day too. By day two, guys, I need him to be starters. When you've built a roster as good as you have this team, and you

look at the contracts, the way everything's working. They needed it this draft to get a starter last year with the Marie Coup for a game changer, and then they needed their round two and round three picks to be starters in twenty twenty, and that's what they got with Tristan Hill and likely what they have with Connor McGovern. So I think they succeeded there. Looking ahead quickly to tomorrow. You pick it one eighteen, you pick it one. I'm sorry, you pick it one. Twenty eight and one thirty six.

I was trying to jump it up a little bit. Run twenty eight and one thirty six, backup, running back on your mind, maybe a little bit. I would like to add a tight into the mix. Personally, I love Dax Raymond every Yeah, Chauncey Gardner Johnson is a guy I thought, you know, they brought in, But as someone told me about a month ago, he's a better player than he is a person. Sure, so that's probably a

reason why he's still on the board. Max Crosby out there, I know you have a lot of defensive ends, but someone that they've done a little work on, someone who I really like as a player. If you get him in the fourth to develop that, get him in the fourth, you would be pretty excited about that. So also, we always know that they're always going to draft a linebacker at some point. Okay, so Dane, I'm gonna catch you tomorrow. We gotta hustle to a press conference right now. So again,

I thank everybody out there for joining us. We will be back tomorrow. Draft starts at ten am Central Am. I right about that, ten am Central, So yeah, just be hanging out with us ten am Central. So from like all my scout anyboddies, thank you so much for joining us, guys, and we'll see tomorrow for Day three of the NFL Draft. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com. And the Dallas Cowboys Football Club
