The following is a production of the Dallas Cowboys Media Group and one oh five three The Fan. Welcome to Dallas Cowboys dot COM's live bumper to bumper coverage of the NFL Draft with Kevin, Katie Turner, Jeff Kavanaugh, David Hellman, Dane Brugler, Cowboys coaches, draft picks, and special guests. Now your host, Brian Brian Bros. Hello, Brian brought us. Hello there, Jeff Kavanaugh. I am Jeff Kavanaugh. One oh five three the Fan. We are here for the second and third

rounds of the NFL Draft. You're hearing it on Dallas Cowboys dot com and one oh five three the Fan dot Com. It is a party in here, as we've got five guys who have been watching these players to break it down for you every single pick, of course from a Cowboy perspective, but we're doing the draft, every pick, every team. We're here for it. I am Jeff Kavanaugh. That is Brian brought us. And as we go around my radio circle, Dane Bruegler to your radio left, Hello, Dane,

we're doing gus. Brian brought us is actually to your radio straight across. Hello there, folks. Kevin turner to your radio right, let's get some draft going, and the great David Hellman to your also radio right. I don't know what else I can say after all that, let's go. So we're all here and we are all ready to draft them up. We're gonna get a lot of Cleveland Browns and a lot of Indianapolis Colts action here pretty soon as the Cowboys are sitting at number fifty right now.

We got a bunch of picks before we get there, and a lot of different ways we can go to start this off. We can set up our best available players, we can talk about the Dallas Cowboy needs. A lot of different ways we can do this. Brian brought us step one. What are you thinking? Yeah, I'm thinking right now if you're I'm just as you said. I'm looking at my best available players as we close this up last night, Harold Landry, I'm looking at my top fifty

Harold Landry, the defensive end from Boston College. As we go around, I'll get into a little bit about what scouts around the league or thinking about Harold Landry. I do have some thoughts there about that. I then think

about James Daniels, the center from Iowa. Another guy I asked scouts about have some ideas about him as well, Will Hernandez, Connor Wayams sound like I got a pretty good offensive line here that I'm working on, and then Courtland Sudden that would probably round out my top five guys that would be available. We just spoiler right now, and Will Hernandez is going in the second pick in the second round, right, I just go ahead and pencil that one. Giants. Yeah, I mean spoiler, it's got it

happens a nice pick. Yeah. The tough part is that I think as all of us are looking at our boards and some of our favorite players, you're naming them James Daniels, Will Hernandez, Connor, Williams. Wait a minute, there's three of them. Yeah, we're not that far away from picking. They might go real fast. Let me ask you this though, if you're the Giants and your Dave Gentleman, when you looked at your board and you see her Nandez there

right now. I know he drafted Barkley. We all like Barkley, But what if he drafted Quentin Nelson and then you got Hernandez sitting there, and then you went and got Nate Solder in in free agency. All of a sudden, that offensive line looks pretty good. Done it? You just don't have a running back to run behind them. Well no, but there's plenty of running backs. I think that we're gonna get some running backs in this Drake could take one in the third round. Carry on, Hey, how about

geis something like that? The great Ronald or here? Well, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Act gotta get him here. Yeah. No, but I'm like, Okay, you're right, But I'm just saying I'm just saying there, there's sure. Yeah, No, you're right. We we We've talked about the Giants a bunch and that offensive line seems to be to be. You want to help Eli Manning get that offensive line good again, you know. Oh but nobody wanted to talk about this last night, though everybody was all on board the sacred No,

we didn't want them to fix the offensive line. No, no, we did. Well, I'm just I'm just throwing it out there as a as something. If you know, you're Dave Gettleman and you see your team having issues, you know there you go. So all right. So for the Cowboys, Kevin Turner, Jason Witten is or isn't still an active football player. How much is your mind changing on what you're looking at for the Cowboys tonight? I believe we're

giving him the weekend to think about it. Right. It's a great timing because there's nothing going on this weekend. You know. For me, I don't really want to go tight end with one of my three premium picks. And if that's controversial, I'd like to apologize. But for me at fifteen and eighty one, maybe if Goddard was there, it's just to me, they're so tightly grouped together. There's not one that really jumps out and separates himself from

the pack. To me, personally, and for what this offense does they asked, they're tied into block quite a bit. Let's let's move away from that. Let's let's evolve as an offense and move away from that. Let me, I'm gonna ask Dave this, if Jason Witten's not here, and if you're not using a premiere pick on a tight end, are we going to see a schematic change from the Della Cowboys because Jeff Swam and Rico Gathers and Blake Jarwin,

are we are we gonna lean twelve personnel. Still i'd be interested to see because and I brought this up earlier today too, is it makes me think about the Ryan Switzer pick because how much did we talk about like ten personnel, Yeah, and two slot receivers Cole Beasley and Ryan Switzer. You didn't see a whole lot of that last year because Jason Witten is not a guy that ever take leaves the field. But if he is in fact not on this team, I don't necessarily think

it changes what they do with their tight ends. I think when they use a tight end, they they'll do it the same way, and they can even use two tight end sets because there will be enough guys here to do that at some point. But maybe they're willing to not have a tight end more often than they have been. I don't. That's just something that comes to mind for me. Dane Brugler, your best tight ends available and where you would pick them for the Cowboys. My

top tight end is available. That's Dallas Goddard, who was named after the Dallas Cowboys. Ironically, he's a thirty fourth overall player, so I think that we're gonna see him off the board pretty quickly. I think his floor is the Dolphins at forty one. If you want to get Dallas Gardard, you have to or forty two. Excuse me, you need to get above the Dolphins at forty two.

That's your two end, your three, right, Yeah, up to forty two unless you're given up like what three fours, maybe two fours this year on a four next year. You know, that's probably going what it's gonna take to get up in front of Miami. And it's that's even if Godard lasts at that point. After that, then we have Gisecki, and Gisecki's would be a totally different type of tight end for this group. You know what, the run game is such a big part of what they do.

Gasecki's not your traditional inline guy who's going to help you in the run game. He's more your mismatch weapon through the air. So Gisecki, I mean, you don't want to rule him out, but he would just be a different type of tight end for this group. And then if they wait till the third round, that's when you start talking about you and Thomas. You're Mark Andrews that group.

Can we go back to Kat's point though, which is that I don't know y'all tell me, And I mean we talked about this this morning when the Witten news was first hitting the airwaves. Does this change how you feel about that? You mean, you try and pull the trigger on a tight end right now tonight? You have to be more open to it. I think, you know, I don't think you make a decision in terms of, yeah, we need to come up with a tight end tonight.

But if Goddard starts to slip a little bit, if you're in the third round and you really like Ian Thomas like I do, you know, I think you need to absolutely consider it, especially if you get wiped out Courtland Sutton, DJ Chark, Anthony Miller, these guys are off the board or you know. I think it's something that you are at least a lot more open to now.

I've talked to several people who have told me that the Cowboys were doing extra homework throughout the day today on these tight ends, making calls, just doing a lot of extra homework, making sure because they it's not like they didn't do any work on the tight ends. They have a board, yeah exactly, They've put grades in all these guys. But now, I mean, I don't blame them for not considering a tight end in top three rounds.

I understand that completely, But now things are different, and all of a sudden, a tight ends a lot more of a postile. Does this throw a wrench? Though? In the Courtland Sutton talk trying to go I mean, Dane, I wrote about this. I think you've got to find a way the Courtland Sutton, we kind of had the Colts earmarked at thirty six thirty seven. Dane came on earlier day says, now, I'll think about more. At forty one. Forty one's a pick. We can maybe grab the tight end.

If you want to go up. Forty one should also be the spot. It looks like to me the Raiders are in business to trade. They're okay, yeah, call us up. They're not going to take value for their pick. They should have took a two and five last night. They didn't. It took a three and o five. They're moving around, so take advantage of that. If teams are going to value the pick as much, go up and see if the Raiders will play with you at forty one. But does it? In my mind, I'm asking you guys too,

does this throw a wrench? And them going and saying, Okay, Courtland Sutton has been their guy all along. I think the biggest challenge right now is when you potentially pile in tight end. There's such a big need, and we're talking about guys like Courtland Sutton, We're talking about Dallas Goddard, We're talking about guys you would have to go get in a lot of cases. That means you're two and you're three for this pick right now. Whichever one it is.

Let's say it's Courtland Sutton. Great, you got your receiver. Jerry was talking about, you need next. Sweet, you feel good about the player you got. They're awesome. Still needed a tight end, Still want to left guard, still want there's still there's so many things they want. And I feel like outside of Day two, we're gonna get to Day three and there's gonna be names on the board that we like. We've seen it the last two years.

Sure celebrations on Anthony Brown and Xavier Woods. Yeah, but guys that NFL teams are gonna bank on to contribute their Day one and Day two. So if you're gonna use both your Day two picks for one player on a team with this many needs, that's gonna be a lot tougher. Now. I don't think anything's different. I mean that logic is right. It is gonna be hard to address all your needs. But I think if the opportunity presents itself, I think they'll still do it. Receiver, Yeah, end,

I don't. I don't. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I don't. Necessarily. I think they like Courton Sutton. So but my point that they it's blinding him on the tight end and at eighty one they could think, well, let's just grab a tight in. I'm not gonna have any Well, yeah, question you have to jump. The big question is how much do they like Courtland Sutton? Because I agree with you, I think he's their top receiver

entering today on the board. Yeah, but the question is how much is there a gap between Sutton and then Chark and Miller and the rest of these guys. Do they like Sutton enough where they want to go up and get him or they content staying at fifty and taking one of the wide receivers there if Chark falls to them, or even taking a different player waiting to the third round for James Washington or a gallop or

one of those guys. But see, and I hear what you're saying, But and I feel like you saw this play out last night with their basic lack of interest in trying to get anybody other than Layton vander esh to us. To us, it's like, well, you could have Miller, you could have Sutton, you could have Chark, and to them, it could be it's Sutton or nobody. And we saw that the last time they did this was for DeMarcus Lawrence.

That I mean, they gave up two big time picks because they thought he was the only guy that really fit the criteria for what they wanted. So how you wouldn't be surprised rankman the order, how you would take it, Thomas, Goddard or Sutton, Goddard, Sutton, Thomas, I agree, Goddard, Sutton, Oh yeah, Thomas is definitely third for me. Goddard or Sutton Goddard. I'm putting Sutton one just and I don't even like Sutton that much, but I just I'll worry

about tight end later. In all honesty, I went, I mean, I think wide receivers easier to worry about later. But to the point of the roof, what did his team worry about Why did his team worry about tight end? Why did it take somebody had? Yeah, but see, I had no idea my argument, and I think you're right. But shouldn't they been prepared for guy's been playing the league for fifteen years? Well, every time they traded. Shouldn't been a guy. Shouldn't Dallas Goddard have been a guy

that they've talked about? They were a tight end, burned out, you know, like, oh no, there's no I think Joe and flower Mount's tight end burn out right now, right, And so that's sure. I think that's why this team is But follow me, follow me here. I guess this is the point they wanted to get rid of this tight end. This is the point I'm trying to make. Whoa, whoa wait, whoa what are we gonna do? You want to run about of town now that he's going out

of Yeah. I don't know if it's necessarily true, but no, excuse me. I don't know if it's right. I don't know if they will be right, but I think there's some truth to the fact that they like the young guys they have here, and so even if they're surprised at not having Jason Witten on this team if he does retire, because, like Kevin said, he's gonna think about it apparently. But even if they're surprised, I don't know

that they're panicking. And I mean, okay, maybe they're doing homework on tight ends, but I would be I would be fairly surprised to see them do something drastic to get a tight end. I agree with you. I think that you could look for a tight end on Day three in the fourth round. Dalton Schultz the two best blocking tight ends in this draft Dislee and Izo, so they could go that direction if they wanted to do that. So they have a lot of options, not just tonight.

All right, we are just a couple of minutes from the Cleveland Browns being on the clock to start Day two of the NFL Draft. We're gonna step aside for just a minute. It is time for the second round of the NFL Draft and the Cleveland Browns. Correct me if I'm wrong. Are on the clock? Should we on the clock? The Cleveland Browns should be on the clock at this point.

I think so. The Dallas Cowboys are gonna pick number fifty, but we gotta start with Cleveland because they're the ones who get to pick a player now, and they're off to a good start. Sashi Brown left them with a lot of picks before they showed him the door. Two picks already today Baker Mayfield or yesterday Baker Mayfield number one overall, and Denzel Ward, the cornerback out of Ohio State at number four overall. A little bit of a surprise with Bradley Chub on the board, But when you're

owing sixteen, they still have needs. Dane. If you're the Cleveland Browns, start us off on what you're looking at. I think you could go in a lot of different directions. They have three picks tonight, two here coming up. I'd be shocked if they don't take a defensive lineman with one of them. They got their corner in the first,

so they could go pass rusher interior defensive line. They need help on offense running back, could use a receiver, and then on the offensive line, Joe Thomas has gone retired, so they need more tackle help. They have death all over, they really do. It's almost like they didn't win any

games last year. Maybe you could say that. Yeah, so yeah, And especially with a new general manager, he wants his guys, and so even when if a position looks like it could be a strength on this team, it's it might not be because John Dorsey wants to bring in his guy. So really everything's on the table. And with thirty three thirty five, they're getting a lot of action with this these picks, they're getting a lot of calls. A lot of teams looking to move up. Could be for Harold Landry,

could be for one of these running backs. So it wouldn't be shocked if the Browns end up dealing thirty three or thirty five. Here Now for a team that brought in Carlos Hide, Duke Johnson is to change a pace back. We do have a lot of good backs available. Does Carlos Hide stop you from picking one of these backs, whether it's Darius Guys, Ronald Jones, Chubb from Georgia, any of those. No, it should And Duke Johnson's in a contract year, so there's no guarantee they'll be able to

put the great extensions. Sorry, yeah, of course, but they're working on an extension. Who knows if it'll get done. So you know, the running backs possibility, Nick Chubb's on the board. I think that's that's an option. I keep going back to pass Rusher passed on Bradley Chubb in the first round, Josh sweat Here, Lorenzo Carter, Sam Hubbard, those are all possibilities. But Brian, Yeah, I forgot my question for Brian some Dave, what's up? No, I'm sorry.

I was just I'm feeling that the shock of last night, was it not Harold Landry? Yeah, let me if I can expand on that. I talked to several scouts around the league about that, and the one underlying thing is the Commissioner's making his way to the podium to open this campaign. But I was told not a glass eater. That was a big, big thing about Landry. They they felt like that the things that happened to him, that the tape wasn't as good, there were reasons he didn't

play as hard. They felt like he quit on his teammates, and so that was a little bit of a guy a little bit of a question about him again, a couple of guys said, not a glass, Heather, looks that the commissioner is gonna give us a few words here as we get going Dallas, the World to you over your Pa and more than thirty million walking across the hero race career teams, including the single labors, the more singletary.

Two things. One Aeneas Williams very millennialish there he was going with the phone camera video and trying to get the crowd hype. And two Bob Lily, for his age, looks good. He's the only guy that doesn't look like he's lost a couple inches of height. You know, you start to stoop a little bit in the age, but Bob Lily is straight up and down. He sure did. He looked great up there. And I'll tell you what Denis was, Hey, if you had a Hall of Fame jacket,

would you kind of wear it every day? Yeah? Would like grocery store that kind of hanging out masters guys would too, Patrick reed, I would have worn it too. Back to Cleveland, Browns is one of the best available players. Because Harold Landry, the concerns have got to be fairly big because when you talk about pass rush in the NFL, it's king. Yeah, but Marcus Davenport had somebody give up multiple first rounders for him. And Harold Harold Landry is a pass rusher. Is very good for him to still

be on the board. They're serious, it is. And and like I've talked about, they really worry about what he did with his teammates there at the end. That was several scouts said that. And and the fact is how much does he really love football? You know? And that's and that was another question there. They said, Yeah, he was banged up, but you know where was the production? Yeah, he had productions sixteen, no production seventeen. I asked about the injury. They're like, nah, guy just you know, guy

just didn't play as well. So you know, I mean, we all understand we don't get to have the interviews and stuff. But it was it was to a man talking about, you know, hey, this guy is is the word glass eater? Was? You know? Was I mean tough guy and all that, and you know, Dane even talked about we did we broke down the player yesterday. It was more about okay, doesn't you know, doesn't take on blocks well, gets washed out, maybe maybe a little bit

lack of toughness. Stare playing versus the run. Yeah, he'll give up the edge and if you can run right at him, and so I think that's he's a liability. And if you're a really good pass rusher, you know, you can live with it. But if you're just a complete liability versus run, which I think he is a lot of the times, that really worries you. You factor in what you were talking about from scouts, and you know, not a huge shock that he's not off the board.

But again, if he can give you pass rush value, Um, I don't think he's gonna last very long tonight. Sure, I'll take him. We'll figure out the runs. No, and again, hey, we all serve him a meala glass and we'll get it. Trying to put quarterbacks on the ground. But the thing is, though we you know, we watched the tape. We see the tape. We try and to evaluate the best we can go back, look at sixteen, look at something. This are the things that scouts know about these players that

we don't know. You know, but you know, you try and figure things out and to the best, you know, we have an idea what's wrong with Hurst? The defensive tackle from from Michigan. And this is one thing I felt like that throughout the night, we were surprised every draft has that one guy. We are surprised why he's still there. And and you know, talking to some people, I gave you the reasons why I think scouts think he's that one now. And Maurice Hurst, who you just mentioned,

the defensive tackle from the University of Michigan. To me, he was the best interior disruptive force in this draft class. Yeah, yeah, he's still hanging around. So the best undertackle in this draft. What can you give us on the reason? Yeah, it's it's the fattening of the heart, is what it is. And so yeah, and this is something that if it's corrected, his career is over. He's played with this. So he has to you know, you have to determine, you know.

And there's Dane and I have kind of run this down. There's several teams that do have him off the board. But there's some teams that are willing, okay to say where would you take him? You know, and this is they but they know the condition and uh, we'll see how it all plays out. But as you said, Jeff, this is a hell of a football player. He's a very disruptive player. You throw on the tape, it's not hard. Where is he? Oh? There he is? First play? You

know where he is? Those types of guys you like, It's just so unfortunate because his name would have been called by Now where would you take him? I've always had this, I've always had this thought about the fourth round being like that. But I think you have to maybe hit this guy a little bit early. I you know, what if even still if he okay, the bigger question do you think scouts have a bigger question about his

heart or Griffin's hand? Here Hurst's heart. And that's what I was gonna say is, yeah, this isn't Shaq Griffin or Jalen Smith where you're like, well, but scouts might concerned about a one handed guy. But he's played at Michigan. What I mean. I know, I know he's played at Michigan. But like, and if I'm understanding the issue correctly, he could die. Yeah, he could die. He just had to trust your medical stuff. Yeah, you know, so it sounds like one of those things if you just let him

play like he did at Michigan. It could go and it could be absolutely fine if he opts to get whatever is best. Jeremiah Trotter, Jeremiah Trotter that we drafted him in Green XU me in Philadelphia nineteen ninety. I know it's back in the day, but that's my experience. We drafted Trotter. I had a doctor tell me, Brian, he's got a knee. I don't know if he's gonna play ten games or ten years. He played ten years. You know, there's and I hey, well, I learned my

lesson about Jalen Smith by the way, too. Yeah, I learned my lesson about you know, doctors say this doctor, I get it. Always trust your doctor. Yeah, but their doctors should say, you know, the guy could play, you know, and you have to determine. And you're right, Dave, You're absolutely right. I had a scout tell me, just find around, find around whatever, whatever, whatever around that's comfortable. Do you find around? Cleveland picks in at thirty three, Dan, you

mentioned some offensive line. You know that's something. I mean, there's a lot of good that some of the best players in the border OFFENSI envinement. They have guards, so they need tackle Conor Williams is still there, Tyrold Crosby. After that, Corbett and Madison. It would Madison be a guard, Corbett guard guard. So I mean, how could you pass over the court? Was a tackle in college, but yeah, he was Nevada. We watched him play tackle. He was

a right tackle there. People thought about him. He's you talk about a tough guy. Yeah, yeah, he's next Richardson. I guess it. Seem's gonna play him at guard, Lando Brown, Jamarco Jones, Martine. How about that if he took Brown? How about Zeus's son playing for the for the Cleveland rounds, that'd be great. Well, we always get fooled by the shot. We gotta we gotta do better with the Commissioner's a

commission I always he'll be here when he gets here. Yeah, the cameras are messing with us, but he will be here when he gets here. So the Cleveland Browns are the team that is on the clock. They got two of the next three picks. The Giants are gonna be after Cleveland and Dane. You got a pretty good feeling you know where the New York Giants are gonna go. And it makes all the sense in the world that they would fortify that offensive line exactly because that's what's

been holding them back for how long years? They have needs at left guard and right guard. So yeah, they play him either way. Will Hernandezka is going to be an immediate upgrade. So if he doesn't go here to thirty three, which I don't think he would be, the Browns are set at guard. Giants lands right in their lap. Other top guys available, according to me, James Daniels, the center guard from Iowa, Ronald Jones, and I could get to him Jeff two if before the commissioner hits up

about James down. There's another guy. When I asked about why would you take Ragnall over Daniels, and they say Ragnall is a is a four athlete but an eight character person and and and a salt of the earth guy. I'm like, what about Daniels. Daniels is an eight guy excuse me, an eight player, eight athlete, but four on the character side. Character but the competitive, tough, competitive exactly

looks like the picks in mm hmm. WHOA. So Austin Corbett is a guy that I think we'd kicked around as somebody you might want to take that played tackle at Nevada that you could kick inside to play guard. But Dane, you're saying for the Browns, if you're a team that's set it guard, I guess they're gonna take him at tackle and run him out there at tackle.

I think so. And that's interesting because he walked on the Nevada and red shirted in twenty thirteen behind Joel Bitonio, who is the Browns left guard and so, and then he went on to start four years at left tackle for Nevada. So yeah, I'm eager to see if they think that he can stay outside and play tackle. Do they want to shuffle the interior the offensive line and maybe kick one of the other guys somewhere to a different position. That that's interesting. Pick eager to see what

they want to do there. Now this did you see who? Did you think you could play tackle? Do you think it's strictly interior? I thought he was more of an interior guy. But you know that. I, hey, I understand it. I mean, I totally get what John Dorsey's trying to do. He's trying to get a tough He's trying to get some tough guys. In there. I mean, that's and this guy right here is he'll come off the ball, he can get some movement in the running game, he finishes

his block, he's got some pop in his hands. Giants picks in by the way, we'll see that here in a minute. But I tend to see the guy that kind of struggles a little bit with his balance. But he's not on the ground. He's not one of those sloppy fall around on the ground guys. But you know what you can you can deal with this guy. I think play a tackle. He played left tackle the games I watched. He wasn't terrible. Looks like the Commissioner's already

at the podium. Oh hey, wow, here we go. It starts. You knew this was coming. What I tell you the job spoiler burglar, And there is one of your cowboy targets. And if you're like me and thought that fifty would be a great place to find your starting left guard, they are starting to go because Corbett was one of those guys. Will her Nandez was one of those guys. And so now two picks into the second round, we thought we had a lot of possession. Uh what is it?

We thought we thought we had a lot of depth at that position where hey, let's see what happens, and let's see if you're gonna have a guy fall into your lap at fifty, if you're gonna have to go get a guy, Well, we're two picks in and we're two picks down at at a spot that you would like to see fall. You're I think you're you're crazy, Jeffrey, not You're you're well intentioned, But I don't. It never lined up here, and that's Corbett. I don't know, am

I crazy? I once you decided to not take an offensive lineman at nineteen, I just don't feel like the draft lined up well for the Cowboys to take a guard here, unless unless they're gonna do something nuts like trade, which I don't think they're gonna do. And I think they're ace in the hole that they can move lyle Collins. Not that I want them to, but that ace in the hole I think prevents them from feeling a ton of urgency about it. So I get and I respect.

Your just made me sad because I have this list of guards and the next two on the list I had to change the color of their names on my board because now they're going I can't have them as I don't think you were ever gonna have them. That's what I'm trying to say. Uh, and you're certainly not what a negative not with that negative attitude. I'll tell you what I felt like on the Draft show, we

were really pushing guards very early. We were we were pushing Will Hernandez was our first favorite at nineteen, kept pushing. Looks like the Brown's pick is in here at three, at two thirty five. Excuse me, Jeff, but yeah, I felt like on the we were really pushing hard on this and here we go, Jim Brown making his way back to the podium, John's Dorsey and Jackson. Forty five minutes, we'll be out of here. Yeah, here we go. Yep, man,

there you go. That's a surprise to some because I know there was there's a lot of people that would have Darius Guys as the next best running back available. I had Ronald Jones. But we're starting to hear things about Darius Guys. I worried about geist is off the field stuff, David what off the field stuff? I'm just saying, OK, I know we missing something here. I mean, I just ask you, I stand to be corrected. But I'm very very plugged into the LSU. I know you are. That's

what I'm saying. Is there some guys you never heard one thing about that? I mean, teammate great, His teammates love him. He I mean, he's a passionate dude. I know, I don't know much. He plays a lot of Fortnite. I mean, I'm he's not He's not at the stadium tonight. He I think his family's at US Sports bar watching picked it. Hey, I just said picked it? What the hell is that? What is um? I? I hope my

guy is getting madder and madder. I can't believe he's going to be the fifth or maybe sixth running back taken. I think it's more of the company he keeps, type of thing, you know, like his he comes from, uh, you know, a rough part of Baton Rouge. His brothers in jail for a drive by. His dad was murdered. Like, I think that's an inspiring story to me. Yeah, no, I know, And I think that, Like, it's not that he's a bad guy, it's more the company that he keeps,

you know, the people that are around him. I think that might be what turns off some teams from guys. Oh man, dude, I'm not saying that's not no, I mean that sounds racist to me, I mean hot. I'm sorry if that sounds like a hot take. But uh, kid comes from a terrible, terrible background, and like I said, I mean, he's never been arrested, He's never been you know, no charges or anything like that, pulling himself out of a terrible situation to become I think the second best

running back in this draft class. And if that's why he's falling, and hey, I'm not you know, I'm not infallible. If there's something there that teams know about that, I don't mea culpa. But I've never heard one bad word about the kid. Scout ahead, No, just I mean, if that's if, if he's guilty by association, that's terrible. That's the worst thing ever. Scouting report on the running back that the Browns did take kat Nick Chubb running back Georgia. I see him is more of a grinder, not the

big play type of guy. Maybe the guy who can potentially be a bell cow type of back. You didn't necessarily have to do it in college because he had Sony Michelle. But that's your guy who could tote the note for twenty five, carries a game if you needed him to. I was a little bit surprised when I saw at the combine that he was as fast or faster than Sony Michelle, because I felt like, hey, Michelle, looks like the guy who's more bursty. Not only the speed,

but Vertical was like thirty nine. Yeah, it was tested really well, and I thought, to me, the best thing he had going for him on tape is I thought he might be the best low tackled feeder of the running backs in this draft. Clus tough man if you try to go low and off him like Tank. Yeah, the balance and the ability to stay up, it's it's strong.

It's a strong lower body. I think the Browns just got tired of people complaining why they passed on Chubb, so they made sure it didn't happen in the second round. The first round, so we'll get the We'll get his cousin, Nick Chub in the second round. Had to get h

Chubby in Cleveland. Colts back to back picks coming up, and I thought Roquan Smith was a good destination for them at pick six yesterday they ended up getting Quinton Nelson, which to me the number one player in the draft instead of Roquan the number three player in the draft. To me personally interesting to see what they do at thirty six and thirty seven. Will they trade one of those picks? Uh? Will they try to go linebacker? They

do need some linebacker help. They did get um, you know, they added Eberflus to the to the defense and things like that. So I think linebacker could be a good place to watch right here for the Colts. So for the cults, I also think you might want to look running back. I know that one just went and it's a league that doesn't value the running back too much. But with a guy like Darius Guys available, with Ronald Jones available, if you want to think about that in Indianapolis,

I think that's possible. Pass rush, defensive end, a linebacker. You mentioned running back. They're starting running back right now is Marlon Mack. Uh Frank Gore's in Miami. Uh, the running back dep charted. Indianapolis needs some help, So Marlon Mack, Josh Ferguson, Matt Jones, um, Christine Michaels. I mean they need some help in the League. See Mike Dave Helmet's favorite guy. He just stops by every team. I thought he was gonna run for fifteen hundred yards here in Dallas.

Well that's what every fan base thinks when they get exact. Every fan base is like, listen, this guy's really got it. This guy was picked what was he picked? Thirty three? He was a high He was a pretty high pick. Fifty three was a second round pick. Put him behind this line. So the cults are set up to do some damage here. Back to back pick and the Dane Burglers seven round mock trap at thirty seven, right, I mean, so we're at pick thirty six. This is a this

is a kind of where we thought about. Yeah, Sutton right here at Daniel Dane so ty hi there the top guy. Yeah, and then they have a little behind him. Yeah, so I think that would grant, but that's not They could really use a guy with some size. Yeah, that would make sense in Indianapolis. So the pick is in. When the commissioners up there, we'll go to the podium

and see what Indianapolis is doing. But they got back to back picks here, and then following them we will have Tampa Bay Chicago, Denver, Oakland, Miami as we make our way towards number fifty, and we're gonna be keeping our eyes on the trade value chart pretty much the entire night until they get to fifty to see because there's gonna be a lot of names coming off the

board that you really like. On Jeff Is, we notice in the war room inside the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, the curtain is down on the camera, so they are obviously have started this draft with maybe some thoughts in mind. They might be working their board a little. It looks like the commissioner is gonna walk through the podium and give us a pick. Roger with the thirty sixth pick, so was I wow, oh wow, okay, well that was um So that's the guy I was

picking at eighty one, Darius Letters. Wow that we thought, maybe you have to take him at fifty. Yeah, it might have to go at fifty. That was my eighty first pick in the Cowboys seven round. Mack also the fake out of all fake outs because an LSU running backs had the name a second pick, second pick let the podium. Yeah, okay, okay, we just what the first five picks of the second round three guards, Yeah, Corbett, Hernandez, and now Bradon Smith. You better get those offensive lemon quick.

We've been saying this entire way. If you don't get your offensive lineman soon, you're gonna be missing out. If you try to wait to the next round, we'll fall back to Cole Madison and we'll have to take him at eighty one or maybe sooner. So let's talk about a couple of these Colts players here. Darius Leonard First, I'll get started with Darius Leonard, guy that at South Carolina State a year ago. You're talking small school, but

you're talking six two two thirty athletic guy. And I think that's kind of the way you're going in the NFL today with linebackers. As you're looking for athletic guys that you think are going to be able to help you in coverage and if you're gonna be able to be that three down player, you've got a ton of value in the NFL now. So even if a lot of people are going to think that's a little bit early,

I mean I think it's a little bit early. And I feel like I'm one of his bigger fans for Darius Leonard but that's going to be the linebacker to the Colts and then Braden Smith to play guard. Who wants to hit the scouting report on Braden Smith, Dane, that's a guy you really liked. You and I got in a discussion one day on the Draft show. I kind of felt like that he was a kind of a guy that got tossed around a little bit. It's played tackle, played guard. Uh, you know you watch Yeah,

I'm a big fan. You are a fan of his, Yeah, And so I liked it. I thought he was writing that mix in the second round and here he goes top forty. He played tackle, he played guard, kind of mismatch mixmatched him all over the line. And what I liked best was when you watch Auburn and they needed a big run, they went behind the right guard. They went behind big seventy one. Not the most physically impressive just with his power, He's not going to simply overwhelm guys,

but he moves well. I right kind of get put self in position so he can wall off run lanes I had when I broke him down. I look at my notes, I had so many more strengths than weaknesses with him, and so I this is not too early for me. I liked this pick here for the Colts. Yeah, I'm gonna go the opposite way on with Dane a little bit. I do agree with some of the things.

I felt like he was a guy they kind of caught blocks, and you know, he has to keep a wide base to get any type of push, you know, And I felt like his feet were a little bit all over the place when it came to trying to block. I thought he was struggle with sustained a little bit. Games I watched where Georgia, Texas A and M Clemson and Lsu. I think he generally will take his man where he wanted to go, but he'll struggle with some space blocks on screens. They used him as a puller.

He got a little bit over extended at times. But I thought he needed to be attle bit better with his hand. So I'll be a little bit interested. I had some guards a little bit better on my board than Braden Smith. But you know, we'll see Danny and I kind of see him a little bit different player. Indianapolis two offensive lineman in the first thirty seven picks of the struss, so Tampa Bay is on the clock.

Here Jeff cavan All alongside Dame Brugler, Brian brought Us, Kevin Turner, and David Hellman. We're gonna take you through every single pick and the latest one, which just happened is running back Ronald Jones going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from USC And if you guys will excuse me, I'm gonna hog the ball for a second because I'm offended that it says forty time, four six five. When he gets picked. The guy pulled up with a hammy in the forty, he runs in the four fours. He

elected to run it. Watch him play. He pulled up, He elected to run it. He pulled up. All I'm saying Ronald Jones was my second favorite back in this class, and if you're just talking about running the football and the field. For running the football, he was my top running back in this class. I think when I watched Ronald Jones, I saw a guy he doesn't get caught, decisive, creative and tight spaces, great feel, incredible feat. I love

Ronald Jones when he's running the football. A little bit undersized at two h five or so, but just watching that dude play football, you are going to see a guy play running back with the field that you dream of when you play running back. Are they running zone in Tampa Bay? Because if they are, He's gonna kill it. Ronald Jones is an awesome player. All right, thanks, welcome back, guys. Hell And then the Broncos are now here we go. They're up on the h It looks like it says

the Broncos's the Bears. It's a Bear selection. It's Mike Singletary. Can't play with him, can't win with him? Oh that one hurts? What I don't know? No, you need to stop it. Why does it hurt? Why can't we be hopeful it only hurts if you thought it was gonna happen in the first place. Why can't we have like things? Oh that hurts that. Roquan Smith went like, of course he did. At thirty nine, Dave, we had a chance. No he didn't. Weances James Daniels is gone and that's

probably too late for him. At thirty nine, I thought he was the best center in the draft. And if you're gonna pla him at guard, great, he's gonna be good. You're gonna pla him at gard because they've got a pretty good center with Cody white Hair. Right. So, uh, you know, we thought maybe Quintin Nelson in the first Uh he goes to Quintin Nelson goes to the Colts a few picks earlier. They wait till the second round. James Daniels follows to them. I brought us this wing

your favorite players. This is one of my favorite players of drafting. It really. It was very disheartening to me to hear people talk about him, especially in my scout Buddies, about why he would potentially not have gone in the first round. This guy's got great feet and he positions himself. He can reach wide techniques. He gets movement on his man when he put him on the nose. He can wall guys off. I mean his base will get a little narrow fall back inside to adjust into fair, but

he can watch his man out of the play. This guy's an outstanding position blocker's an athlete to get to the second level. He finished his blocks there, he adjusts to the twist. I mean, there is a lot to like. Movements not a problem for this guy. And again the questions will be about him is though, does he have the toughness? Does he have the toughness to be a guy that down after down in the National Football League? The talents there, the scouts question a little bit more

about the toughness of him. We'll see how it. Yeah, and you see that a little bit with his game. The athleticism is there and not necessarily a ton of power at all times. But like he's the guy who at center is out there reaching a three tech de tackle, getting his head across and making a big hole for the runners s extension. It's a technical He's good. He's good. He's a good player. He's a very good player. Are you okay? I'm I'm recovering that you keep driving the

steak into my heart. I'm just a realist. You shouldn't have loved him. I did's out a name, out a name where team's gonna have Texas as Connor Williams guard or taty Well, Dave, can I have him? Well? Let I'm gonna ask you this. Take him all day, Dave Hellman, talk about what you saw the Pro day in Austin. I just love I mean, I think he's an athletic dude, like I just whatever, dear, And honestly, let's say he is there at fifty, which I'd be kind of surprised.

I'd be kind of surprised if they picked him for that matter, even if he was there, But just draft him and figure it out again. You talk about they love the flexibility here, and if you want to put him at guard, you can try him. If you want to let him play some tackle, I think he could do that too. I just think he's just a really impressive like he looks he looks like he's got the athleticism to play tackle in all honesty, but I think he could do a little bit of everything. So we

are creeping closer to pick number fifty. And if you're tracking at home and you're not sure who's still available, well Courtland Sutton hasn't been taken yet. No, the s MU wide receiver still available, Williams hasn't been taken yet. You're whining about the run on offensive lineman. Nobody's touching the wide receivers. Don't call it whining if it is, I am. If you're the Cowboys, you were waiting for Courtland something to fall out of the top forty. Once

he does that, that's when you think about trading up. Yeah, that's because that's we're getting to that threshold where Dane was talking, and it's and it's right now. He had it at forty one with Oakland. The picks in for Denver that's at two forty and so the threshold. I'm not putting words in your mouth. Then you thought about maybe Oakland there as a spot to to go up at forty one. Yeah, whether it's Goddard, whether it's Sutton, go up and get your guy. But you know, then

you're done for the day. Yeah. Well, no, if you're going up that far, you're done. I mean I think you could do you can creative, Yeah, a couple of fourth rounders next year, Yeah, exactly. So that's what I would try to do right all the next year's picks. Because we're here today we want to pick. That's the Saints mentality. I'll once again remind everybody that the war room inside the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco,

the camera is, the cover is on. So as you know we've made here, what does that one, two, three, four or five six, seven picks? We have not seen anything, any activity at all in this war room. So saying the nights and covered up, yeah, let's let's see. You know again, there's a lot of speculation about could they trade and to go up? Could there be some speculation about what's going on with a certain defensive back in

the Great Northwest. So we have not seen anything as these center as the draft has been has been going on. Usually we kind of have an idea as we get close to their pick, but they have kept the kept the war room under wraps. Right. If they wanted Courtland Sutton, don't you think that's kind of the name we've had in our heads all day? If they wanted court and Sutton Sutton, and that the kind of I mean, the

trade wis happened by now. If you wanted in that, I think you got to wait until you can get there with your three I mean well, or even less than that, or less if they wanted to trade both fourth round picks on the trade value chart, you're there fifty and both fourth round picks works out perfectly for pick forty. Okay, so you're in the ballpark right You're in the ballpark for you right now. So what about for you guys personally? Would you like that move with

guys like Anthony Miller, Christian Kirk, Michael Gallup. I prefer Anthony Miller. Yeah, I always I try to project what I think the Cowboys would do. I'm not super high on Courtland Sutton. I never have been. Um so me, I would not do it, but I think they would consider themisser's walking to the podium with the Broncos pick two forty. Look how big that free safety is. That's a tall drink of that water. Wow, Daney, people give me crap for my puns. Was like, he's still alone.

Oh darns. Yeah. So for what the Cowboys wanted to do, that one might hurt. But I think for a lot of the guys in this room that kind of that's okay because it just means that you can sit at fifty and you might have to pick one of the guys we like better. I'll tell you what the draft show. That's what we call. That's a good call. I mean you had, I mean, Dane felt like that forty one could be the spot and that that to me, that's on the number right there. So good job at analyzing

where that player potentially could have ended up. That's what we call a happy pen throw. That's you throw your pen across the room first three Theatric's sake, but you're at I'm I'm now that he's a Denver Bronco and godspeed to him. I hope he has a great career. Jeff Kavanaugh, you're kind of the You're kind of the white receiver whisper of the group, the white receiver, the wide receiver. Okay, oh I thought he said white, the wide receiver whisper of the group. What do you What

do you got on this guy? On Sutton? Yeah? I like Sutton. I just I feel like Sutton is especially for this team. I want to be Dak friendly, right, and I feel like Dak friendly in today's NFL, and not just Dak friendly, but a lot of quarterback friendly. Is guys that are going to give you separation off the line scrimmage, and I'll tell you what. At the combine, Courtland Sutton's three cone time gives me hope about him being that at some point. I just don't see that

guy today. I see a guy that can go down the field and win fifty fifty balls you want to throw him screens and slants like that's okay. And athletically he's good. The forty times not great. He's not gonna beat you at speed, but he is an athletic guy, and I think his ceiling is high. I just think today you're watching a guy that you got work to do against press coverage, You got work to do as a route runner. There's just you got to develop him. Now. Once you develop him, you might get a heck of

a player. For as big as he is. He sure does, you know, shoulder pads kind of get jacked a little bit, you know, and defensive backs in his face kind of rock him back a little bad, that type of stuff. Don't see a ton of press coverage with you, Sure don't. And I guess I'd say we should be careful. High five and the Cowboys not getting Courtland Sutten right. Whoever was doing that because that could be the guy in five years who's the best wide receiver of the group.

They did a lot of work on him, the fewer fivers in this draft, who has number one potential if he improves as a route runner and the testing numbers suggest that he can. It's just about muscle memory, it's about technique, the mechanics of the position, becoming a better route runner. I think he absolutely can. It's just uh, it's just a matter of time and with coaching, can he do it? So now we've got the Oakland Raiders

are the team that is on the clock. Would be it would be really funny if the room came up now that that picks out, they're just like, all right, turns, they're all open. Yeah, we're each side a minute though, and we felt like though if they needed a tie end, they'd have to get ahead of Miami. Am I correct about that? Dane? I think for me, Dallas Godder is a perfect fit at what forty two to Miami? They need a tight end. Yeah, that's a good spot for him.

So if they really are serious about Dallas Goddard, yeah, I think you need to trade up to this. Tennessee is now in. Oh. Yeah, Tennessee is going to be the ones making the pick. You called it, Brian, you said the Raiders were open for business, for business to take a new job and not want a draft. That's a really good Okay, Tennessee, let's think about them real quick. What we got, Miller, They're good? I mean, what's going on?

What are we thinking about Tennessee. Tennessee took Rashaun Evans. Yeah, he's coming from fifty seven. They got a number of defensive needs, and I can see them looking wide receiver as well. I know they took Corey Davis last year, but that is a pretty thin receiving corps. They need a linebacker they need uh, or they took a linebacker in the first with Evans. They need pass rush? So is this Landry Landry Sweat? Uh? You know one of

the pass rushers that would make sense. Well, let's like say number I guess they could go a number of different directions. Uh, you have one linebacker, I mean you could take another one funny wide receiver. I think John Robinson, the general manager of the Titans, he understands how the Patriots think. Yeah, he jumped ahead of them in the first round. Sure it is to get Rashaun Evans. Sure, I think the Patriots would have drafted Patriots picking two picks.

So he jumped ahead of Patriots again here in the second maybe for a pass rob to get to get ahead of what the what the Patriots might do in two picks. Who are the pass rushers you're talking about here? I think, yeah, Landry Landry Hubbard, ub Yeah. I mean Bravel is an Ohio State guy, and I think he was at Ohio State when they were recruiting Hubbard. So he knows plenty about the player. Well, handshakes all around in the in the Tennessee war room right now. Mike

Brable though, uh he is uh, looks like that. He's kind of looking down into here comes to pick though at two universe. Why looking good too? He said, Honor, But Harold Lander, Harold Landry is finally coming off the board to Tennessee Titans. Can we clear this up? Dane and the beast is our guy, Harold Landry. It's not Honor Landry, it's Harold guy you scouted named Honor Landry. There is not at least I don't think so. So Harold Landry's off the board. How about that poor guy

he's watching his draft. Isn't that a guy mispronounces his name? You know, as you would have to be vy that it would be nice if you got your name right. But I don't think he's sweating it too much. He's just happy to be draft. What do we talk about? The Titans need a pass rusher. They get the pass rusher, linebacker. They got the linebacker in the first, moving ahead of the Patriots to do so, they do so here in the second, thinking maybe he would go to the Patriots

and two picks makes sense. And you've talked a lot about Landry. How is he? Does he have the dog in him necessary to hold up at the NFL level? You know? Does he have the toughness because rarely in the NFL? Are are you feeling one hundred percent? Yeah, it looks like the Dolphins that their pick is going to be in. We'll probably have to wait for it here for a minute, but that you know what, Tennessee You're right, Dane, You you said it. They moved up.

They had Tennessee had a purpose of what they were going to do, and they probably had an idea that New England sitting behind him, was going to go for a guy like Landry, you know, and from a from a film perspective, Like you said, we don't have all the information about what people think about the guys themselves, but from a film perspective, you see Harold Landry in twenty sixteen, and he may be the best pure pass

rusher in this draft. You know, Bradley Chubb is obviously a more complete player, but when you talk about just speed off the edge, turn the corner flat into the quarterback, Harold Landry's probably the best in this class to get something like that in the forties. If he turns into what he can turn into in the NFL, you got phenomenal value. If you're the Tennessee Titans. I almost don't care what you gave up. I'm well, and that's true.

I mean, when you're trading up, it's always what's the price. But I'm a big fan of both of their picks so far, Rashaun Evans and Harold Landry. Maybe Rashaan Evans will handle the toughness for both of them. And it's a good point. You got you got a glass eater and Harold alright, I'm sorry, And Rashaun Evans, yeah, you sure doing that. Dolphins up at forty two, we are eight picks away or so from the Cowboys picking up fifty. We were talking tight end earlier. Yeah, something the Cowboys.

Dane is all over this one. I believe the Goddard pick you think is coming up right here? Goddard just sicky right, yeah? I mean, aren't those the two best tight ends left? I mean, if you or it could be the guy Andrews let me according to my need sheet, tight end, this is the This is the tight end Dutch chart in Miami right now. Marki's Gray A J. Derby and some guy name gave An Escobar n I really thought he was gonna thrive. Dare you so? Yeah? I mean it's not a very good looking situation there,

Uh tight end. I think it makes all the sense in the world with Goddard staring them in the face. Giseki if they want to go in that direction. Again, Gaiseki is not going to be your traditional inline guy. But if you can scheme him correctly, and I think Adam Gase could uh line him with the backfield, put him in the slot. He can do a little blocking for who would be of those guys the best scheme fit what you're talking about. I think they could scheme

either one. It's just you know, his Adam gaze is. You know, he is smart enough as a play caller, an offensive core offensive guy where he understands their strengths and he can scheme them. So I just think comes down to which one they like more, you know, did they want more of an inline guy or they want more of a mismatch weapon down the field? Yeah, Goddard

versus Giseki, if that's the direction they're going here. At tight End, I'm just going through my board trying to figure out and answer for the people who do the Cowboys one at this point and I'm looking at my board and the guy's left. I love some of these receivers. I got a few. I mean, yeah, there's no shortage of guys that good shape. Dallas Goddard's there, Connor Williams is there, Ronnie Harrison the seven and eighty nine, So

hit some math on us there. Let's see what fifty seven and eighty nine should get you second and a third for a sixteen spot jump yet to number forty one, So we'll see what the math is on that. But when it comes to cowboys and guys that you're kind of waiting on and seeing, Hey, who do you who are you really interested in right now? I think for me it's guys like Goddard, Anthony Miller, uh, Michael Gallup, Connor Williams. If depends what you think about Maurice Hurst,

what your doctors think about Maurice Hurst, Ronnie Harrison. Your got golden, but we got the Dolphins. We got the commissioner at the podium with pick number forty two. Where's it? Good? One? There we go go? Well, I think for this room that is quite all right. That a tight end when it wasn't Dallas Goddard. If you're the Dallas Cowboys, you're getting closer. You're getting closer, You're getting closer, and Dane's

top tight end is still available on this draft. I think what pushes gisicky up, and maybe it didn't push him up, but the combine that he had you don't really see on tape, the numbers that he put up at the combine, that he's a four or five guy with elite change of direction and all. You don't really see that from You see the big guy, and you see the ability to go up for the football and shield guys out. But I don't think you saw elite athleticism.

But much like Courtland Sutton, you'll get those testing numbers and you say it's in there. Right if we can coach him up technically and as a route runner, there's a whole bunch of ability in here for Mike Gisiki, I think, Dane, Dane, you were surprised that the Patriots made both of their picks yesterday, right, not Well, it doesn't sound like they're gonna make this one. It looks like we are due for a trade here from what we're seeing. Uh, it's a Detroit Detroit and there's a

tight end. There's the tight end, Dave. I'm sorry, I didn't do that on purpose. This is a Dave Dave does is it? Definitely for a time every time they need a tight end badly, Dane. He said the tight end depth chart was a mess there too. Let's look at the tight end depth chart. Yeah, and the pre and our pre show today in our pre show, the Draft show by Miller lte At when we did this afternoon, Dane identified two teams that needed tight ends. He said,

Detroit and the Dolphins. It looks like that they're going to Detroit was picking fifty one. Yeah, they knew, okay, with the Witten news how to get ahead of Dallas and fifty how to get up there? The depth chart for the Lions at tight end because no more Eric Ebron, Luke Wilson formerly of Seattle, and then le Vine Toyol of the Foul, formerly of the Foul. So Luke Wilson the actor. Yeah, we also there's two Ells and Wilson in his last name. Half true. Oh okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Trade.

You can hear it in my when I say Wilson, Yeah, I did. It was Willson, right, I did? I heard that. Yeah. So we've got this pick coming in. We've got a trade. We've got the Detroit Lions picking at number forty three. Overall the Cowboys will pick at fifty. Still in good shape, whether you've got a guy on the board that you really like, or whether you're thinking about a trade for a safety. And they're showing us that Mike Gisiki can dunk a basketball. That's what they want us to do.

The volleyball, you can do it. I'm waiting for the volleyball highlights. Yeah, volleyball. He's gonna spike it if they ever get to it. I'll tell you what though, he's an absolute terrible blocker. Well, yes, I mean that is that is something I mean. And again, if you know he does not want to stick his nose in there, he would go play half man on you block it. There's times when Penn State brought him down inside to wham people and he really wanted no part of that.

So play patty cake. Yeah, I mean he is a getting away try and you know, stay keep his feet moving. But there's no power to his game. For big, old tall guy, he just does not care about blocking very much. What else do they need out there in Detroit besides tied end? Let's see what they do in the first round. Took the center. Dane Brugler gave me a chart any defensive line pass rush, passterior defensive line, tight end, d tackle. Uh you put running back on here too, Dane. They

do need a running back. Uh. They finished last in the league last year in Russia. Maybe the value of the second best running back worked out. Guy, we're at the podium. I like that. Oh it's Beverly Hills cop right there. I mean, that's not Eddie Murphy. But that's his jacket. Yeah, thank you. They cut away to be No, it's I mean Axel Foley. Great movie. He's good. On to see Beverly Hills copy have a hat that sends that duct time on it. Where are we going with us?

Hold on Jack White please okay, Dane Brugler special tight end going here. All due respect to uh Darius guys, he remains on the board. Carry on Johnson. I love he's such a good player. He's when you watch him, he's a little leggy and he's not the most graceful athlete between the tackles, but he's so patient, he's so instinctive, and he is He might be the toughest, the physically toughest running back I have ever evaluated. You have to off the field, and he's the opposite of what they've

been trying to do before. That hasn't really worked for him. Theo ritic and it was undersized, Yeah, undersized and try to win with quickness the first round guy Frank rag Now, yeah, toughness. They're gonna get tough. Yeah in Detroit and carry on, john and we'll run the ball very tough for you. See. I thought the best trade of him was the vision. I mean, do you you watch It's when you watch Albert play. It's almost like slow motion. And then they hand in the ball and it opens up and then man,

he is up and through. So I'll see another thing too, really soft hands catching the football. You know, you throw him screen stuff underneath. He can make some things happen. But I really really like this guy. I'm with Dane on that. I really really am. Well to my friend Dave Hellman, I say this, if uh Darius guys doesn't have a legitimate off the field problem, somebody's gonna get a steal fairly soon. You would, you would think, right,

I mean, what is you know? The rumor is that now six the whole combine thing about I mean, there were reports out that he lied about that question. Yeah, I did schefter that that the league. The league couldn't confirm that anybody asking that trade here, Oh yeah, got a trade. Let's just Washington's pick originally, which will be pick forty four. It's now going to be going to

San Francisco. So let's think about San Francisco here, right now, boys, let's think about San Francisco and talk about San Francisco as soon as we get back, you are listening to the twenty eighteen NFL draft on Dallas Cowboys dot com and one oh five three the Fan dot com. Really enjoyed, okay. Ante Pettis is a wide receiver that goes which I'll be honest, don't mind. And

I like Dante Pettis. I'm gonna say, yeah, you don't mind because they're better receivers. I don't mind because Anthony Miller is on the board and Michael Gallup is on the board. I mean, Christian Kirk is on the board. Jeff D. J. Chark is on the board. Jeff's belly aching about the offensive lineman aside. I'm gonna be set up to. I mean, Star Williams is still alive. He set up the draft a guy you really like here. And by the way, the curtains still down in the

war room. We have not seen it all the way to their pick. I mean, I'm assuming when it gets to their time that they will raise that. But I'll tell you, I like Dante Pettis. That's at least the movement, balanced, body controls, sideline awareness, high point the ball, he'll adjust. I think he'll carry his routes inside. He can go low. I mean they'll struggle with some of the contested ball. Doesn't always play very strong, but he helps the quarterback.

He helps the quarterback win in trouble. I mean, I've seen him run around, get open and uh and Browning the quarterback has found him for some big place, slow bringing the way he plays, I like the way you can escape as well. Punt return value. Also, Yeah, I don't think you're wrong with anything that you said. I just think they're better receivers out there. Sure, I bad just one of my guys there. I mean, that's not a problem. Number forty five is gonna be Green Bay

on the clock. Right now. We got forty five, forty sixty seven, eight forty nine, So five more players can go off the board before the Dallas Cowboys are on the clock. They could always move up, they could move back, but right now, five players go off the board before you pick reset our board. How is it looking, let's not include maur resharst Okay, we'll just say he's off. Darius Geiss one, Josh Jackson two, Dallas Goddard three, Isaiah Oliver for Anthony Miller five. That would be my top

five available. Yeah, let's go. I got Connor, Williams and Goddard as my two guys that I would kind of looking. I know we've been talking about them. Anthony Miller guys and Gallup would be my five packers took. Oh for me, I go ahead, I've they've they've covered who's the best on the boards. Took Jirey Alexander yesterday. Yes, they're still so bad in the second and dairy. So to me, it's Jackson secondary offensive line. Josh Jackson makes a lot

of sense here we go from the universe. Oh my god, huh, none of them know, they don't know. Too young for that mess. A value, I tell you what. That is A team that said, you know what, we weren't good enough at corner last year. So jaire Alexander and round one from Louisville. Josh Jackson out of Iowa. In round two, I forgot are loading up. He was there. Good for him being here he gets to finally here his name called and Dallas native. Yeah yeah, good for him. A

couple that together. Don't forget that, um, Kevin King was one of their high picks last year. So to say they're just trying this again, they're reacting because Darius, Demerius Randall and Quinton Rollins just didn't work out. So Kevin King, JayR Alexander and Josh Jackson now your cornerbacks for the Packers. And Josh Jackson all American, full size, over six foot. The ball production, you can't doubt the ball production. He will be six fastest defended eight interceptions, so he'll go

get the football for you. The one thing that I think some of us would question is one he seems more like a zone cover three sort of corner, not a man guy. And the physicality is a big question mark. That's a guy that I've saw plenty of time that he doesn't look like he wants a big part of contact, right, No, I think you're spot on it. When he plays zone is a chance too, and this is why some teams evaluated him as a free safety. When he has a chance to be off the ball and really break down

what's going on. In front of him, he's outstanding, but when you ask him to play man, that's where you see some separation. And that's where he struggles a little bit, not as comfortable, and maybe he'll get there, but right now he is a zone corner trying to play man, not a guy that has the ability to play both. So now let's take a look at what the board looks like in front of the Cowboys. Here you got the Kansas City Chiefs. They are the ones that are

on the clock. Now. Then you'll have the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, and then Dallas Cowboys Chiefs coming up. This is the first time Kansas City's picked in this draft. Now they're getting Nancy. Yeah, Kansas City would like to pick a player. Let's get a look at their team needs and see if we can get a decent field just defense, defense in general with him. That's unusual. The Bengals usually stand there and make picks.

But looks maybe this is where we see that we talk about the pass rushers Terrey Lorenzo, Carter, Josh Sweat. Maybe this is where we see the pass roger come off the board. Tombahlly, he gone justin Houston, you know, winding down, not quite the same player that he was. Could say d Ford's in the final year of his deal. Maybe see passed Rusher time flies. Now you're saying d D four to his last year of his deal. Well, yes, Frank Clark the final year of his deal, really been

doing this song. Let me ask you this though, is I mean the Dane on the chart here you're talking about center guard. Is it possible? Is this where they give Connor Williams? Sure you know, Is this where all of a sudden they worked him out as as a possible pick. It is possible. I think their knees on defense are so pronoun But no, I think that's a good name to put out there because that they need

they need. I mean, is Connor Williams at this point better than the guys you're naming right well, which and I'm glad you said that. I'm gonna do my selfish thing where I turned this toward the Cowboys for a second. I know y'all did your best. Five Yeah, let's take a look. Throw for me the names and we're coming up on fifty soon. The names that we know that Cowboys have shown interest in who are still there? Huh it looks like since so Cincinnatis swapped third rounders. Yeah, yeah,

I mean okay. Con Connor Williams is a guy that they've had contact with. He's a local prospect. He came to Dallas day. Christian Kirk is a guy they worked out. DJ Chark is a guy they worked out. Anthony Miller they met with at the combine. I believe, yes, which and hey in the second round. That's that'sn't good enough. I mean, sure, a lot of thirty visitors are off the board, but I do think there are there's an impressive number of guys still available who I mean they've

brought in on visits they've had at their facility. So I mean, that's that is curious to me. I wonder if they follow that, you know here with their pick coming up in a few minutes, did you guys see Brielance Speaks is more of an inside guy or outside gay because that's another guy who visited. Is that a that's a guy who should he be in? I see him as a guy that hopefully we don't even talk about today. Hey doesn't make that so he doesn't make DA eighty one, right, I wanted to talk about him

at one sixteen. Yeah, exactly, I mocked I mocked him here at once. We did that. Yeah, we mocked him. I mocked him here in the fourth and here to Dallas. Also a second round, no, no, no, the folk round, but the Cowboys. Yeah, you said all the pass rushers too. Gwart's Armstrong's name, ye who we didn't talk about. That seems early for him. Yeah, what about two Ray from Rutgers. That's to raise in that mix? Uh, if we just

get to throw our guys out there. Duke is G four from Wake Forrest, that demand that his name be mentioned. These are the day two pass rushers that are going to come off the board here. It's just a matter of when. And again the Chiefs have the need that could make sense. They need you know, Derek Johnson's no longer there, and they need help on the inside. They need corner help. They can use more depth upfront and defensive line. So I think all three levels needs help

for the Chiefs. Wouldn't surprise me if any direction they went here on defense and the pick is in again their number forty six here, so we'll have forty six, forty seven, eight nine, you got four players names you're gonna hear before the Dallas Cowboys hit the clock. If they stay put at the war room back online, they're not back. This is the first time we've seen them all. Damn night. Hey, guys. Rod Marinelli looks like a bouncer at the club standing behind guys. Same to you, guys.

That's both defense. That's a shard in there as well. Rod Marinelli looks like he's about to mess somebody up. He's like, all right, well, now what about your defensive players? Here? Pains that. There you go, there's your there's your hint about again, Chris roh Shard. There have they shown any interest in the Shepherd kid, the defensive table from Fort Hayes State? They have had, they have they have, Yes, he was one of the guys. I don't know if

he's one of my few second rounds on defense. That's why I asked. I don't know if they brought him in, but there was there was enough I know. I'll see how on Twitter there was enough buzz about them being interested. The top defensive players on my board Isaiah Oliver Corner from Colorado, Ronnie Harrison, safety Alabama. Harrison Phillips defensive lineman Stanford.

Did I miss Carlton Davis. Carlton Davis corner Auburn. Yeah, Sam Hubbard, Ohio State looks like the picks in here for Kansas City on the trade I should feel old. Oh wow, I see what he did there. He listens to our show of a guy that we wanted in the fourth round, and they decided to take him in

the second. He said they would have someone speak to the team priest, and the priest speaks, Yeah, interior defensive line is a need for the Kansas City Chiefs, and it's gonna be Brelan speaks, which, with all due respect to the young man, we think that's a couple of rounds earlier. Looking at my board though, and those interior defensive tackles there's not a ton of them. Less sure.

YEA real quick tweet from Jason lachanfora getting some word the TMZ might have an unflattering story about Geiss that could be published soon, which may be something to do with team steering. Clear Okay, it's very vague, so we shall see whatever. Jason Lackerford's right like ten percent of the time. Yeah, that's generous, all right. Well, we're in we're in the war room. They're inside the Ford Center at the start Frisco. Uh. You know, everybody looks very

calm right now. I love Nathan Sheperdick here. Yeah. And the fact that the defensive coaches, these are some hints, you know, we kind of just need to focus in a little bit now on the on the defensive players. I'll just I'll just say this. And and Boise State is not your typical non power five school. I mean they're a little more they got a little more umph

to them. But Boise State and Fort Hayes State, as you go, that would that would well, it would just it would be a departure from what the Cowboys do. Let's do it all right, who are in Arizona on the podium at the podium. Yeah, here we go. Selfie at the podium. I like it. Yeah, he's the Millennium Well, I like it. I believe for the Christian Kirk pick, we're gonna turn our attention to Kevin Turner because he was your wide receiver number two. Yeah. Draft, And Josh

Rosen has a pretty good target to throw too. Right now. I get the concerns about him not being able to maybe play the X although his build is stocky enough that you know, I'm not terribly concerned about him getting off pressed. But he's tiny, you know, five ten and a half. I totally get and do it well. I think he's the type of guy though, you just get the ball in his hands and let him go. The phone is ringing. It looks like Will McClay is handing

it over to Steven Jones. Maybe somebody trying to figure out if they can get this pick from Dallas. If Steven hangs that thing up quick, he says he's got his player and he's gonna move on. If he gets a little bit longer. If he flips it, there's gonna be a long sheet of paper in front of him, which is a trade chart. And so he's listening right now, probably a little smile on his face. Let's see if you want to give us, gotta give us way more

than that at the end of the day. Yeah. So yeah, Usually Steven, if he's got his guy, he'll take that phone and put it down quick and uh, let's see what in fact is going on here. But he's having an in depth conversation right now. Is that anybody is that that's not Paul Alexander talking to Jerry. Is it it? It looks like it is. Well, if it is, it is, I'll talk about Connor Williams. That there's Paul Alexander, the offensive line coach. So I mean you got Marinelli and

Chris Richard, but they're not in a conversation. Yeah, and here we go lts at the podium with the commissioner. Yes, that's my guy. Light On didn't have enough pass rush already, that's my guy. Yes, Noosu. My favorite thing about Niosu is when you look up I don't know if he quite cracks the top of the leaderboard, but when you look up passes defended in college football, he's towards the top. It's because he's just got the instincts coming off the edge,

you have to bat the ball down the top. Like fifty uh passes defended list in college football, you have forty nine defensive backs and one linebacker and that's in Woasu. And you're right, he's near the top. He just has an innate ability to find the passing lane, get his hands up. Not great sack production, but you know he finds a way to impact, whether it's getting his hands up in a line of scrimmage. He's gonna stand up play that outside linebacker role for the Chargers in the

three four. It makes some sense, all right, So no wo su is the pick there at number forty eight. The Philadelphia Eagles trading in front of the Cowboys, trading in front of the Cowboys for number forty nine, Please don't take Dallas Goddard, And they absolutely could. They couldn't use the tackle. Yeah, they can use the tackle. I mean what I worried about them taking Goddard at thirty two is their second tight end. Yeah, they were making that pick. They run a lot of two tight end

sets from Getterson's office. Burton's gone, what's his name, Sellek retired? That makes some sense. I don't think this makes the Cowboys flinch. Just with looking who as in that room right now, this seems unusual to me. They are just hanging out. Well, not only that, but just usually by the time you're I mean, they're basically on the clock, right. It's odd that there's two different types of coaches in here.

There's a trade going down. There's an offensive coach and two defensive coaches, and none none of them look super happy, like they look like they're in a holding pattern, like what's what are we doing here? I think they're waiting to see if one goes, if something something happens, they're going to go to the other and they want to know about it quick again Stephen Jones, and it has been on the phone a couple of different times. It

looked like there was nothing really extensive. From that. Walter Julief on the far left is given an explanation. That's Lionel Vital to his left, and they're kind of getting Will McClay is over on that far right, next to Charlotte Jones. Anderson's Hall on the phone. Chris Hall. Yeah, he's he'll call the player too. So I want to throw this out. I know Jeff just said, you know, don't draft Dallas Goddard, Philly, don't do that. But I'll take Connor Williams if you want to leave him there.

Felt Philly could use a tackle though. Yeah, they're I mean, Jason Peters is nine thousand years old. Starting to get some smiles in there now from Steven Jones. Excuse me. Chris Hall will be working. He's worked with Robert Blackwell, who's got at the table for the cowboys. Who's got the card? So he will be the once they make the pick. Chris Hall there in the bottom right, he will, he will hand he will tell Robert Blackwell who to

write the card and they'll send it in. But again, Walter Julife on the far left, he's the National Scout. He is at University of Texas grad by the way, and he was at the pro day for the University of Texas Texas. Dude, yeah, so he is. He is standing up here. He's got a little bit uh, probably feeling it. He's having to make some opinions here. I haven't seen Rod Marinelli or Chris rah Sharton move in the last three minutes and they're just standing still back

there by the way. TMZ has said that they don't have a story coming, So okay, looking for is batting a thousands? Okay, yeah for a holy cow? All right, Stephen Jones. He is now on the phone again, so maybe somebody trying to get up. Chris Hall is still holding with Robert Blackwell. They're waiting. This is or there. Walter's standing up now, I mean yeah, and it's and let's see. Will McClay is gonna go get the player. So it sounds like they're gonna stand in here. If

I'm guessing they're gonna make the pick. Will McClay will call the player, as we heard in the secret audio last night, he gets the player, and then he'll hand the phone to Jerry Jones. Uh if in fact that's the case. So let's see what happens here. But who is excited right now? Oh, Walter Julife just got a pat on the back from the secondary coach the Eagles when school where he would get Texas. Okay, the Eagles. Oh, handshakes all around and they are shaking the hand of

the offensive line coach. Yeah, Paul alexand this this is this got a little Connor Williams maybe written all over it. Here. It's fine with that. The Eagles went ahead of the Cowboys, I think for the tight end. Okay, here he goes, yeah, here we go. Let's see who in fact it's gonna make this pick for the Eagles. By Jerry on the phone, they picked the player. Uh, hey, kicker, you send a kicker to do this? Oh wow, inaccurate? Uh, it's about

what about the twenty five year olds? Hayden Hurst was Yeah, so the rich get richer there him off. We cut him off. Not just the rich getting richer, but drafting a guy who was literally named after the Dallas Cowboys on the day you're Hall of Fame tight end, Yeah, might have called it quits, but yeah, Dallas wasn't gonna take him. I don't think. I don't think so. I didn't. I think Dallas. I think they're totally okay with what just happened. I don't think they have any bit of

a problem what's going on here right now. So this puts the Cowboys on the clock. We've seen Paul Alexander in there. We've seen uh, defensive coaches in there, but there the handshakes for Paul Alexander all around the line. Coach. Is there any offensive lineman you would consider here not named Connor Williams. I think we're across the board. He's

our favorite guy here an offensive line. If you're gonna pick a lineman here, and it looks like they are handshakes, it's Connor will It should be Connor the Copel Native. Bring him home, and that's probably gonna get an A plus around this room. Is it not absolutely solid? I think it's on my board. He's what we were talking. I mean, we're going back aways. But Brian, you and I went down to Austin, like you mentioned earlier, we

watched him work out. Yeah, we was impress. We were not only talking about drafting him at nineteen, we were talking about using him as trade bait for a team that wanted to get him at nineteen. Right, So for you to tell me that if he is the pick at fifty, a super athletic guy who could be a tackle and a guard and maybe even play some center, Yeah, yeah, I like that, Picks. Didn't I tell you not to

belly ache and wine? You told me we weren't going to get a guard, sir, your right idea, And now we're about to get a great left After all of that whining or right tackle or right tackle, whichever way they choose to play it, this offensive line is going to be the strength of this team again and one of the best in the league again. Pick is in. Officially we've known that, but the thing is officially end. Yeah. All we all we are waiting is for them to

actually take the podium and say it. But I think our context clues are telling us what's in and here's Walter again. Walter Julith is the University of Texas grad and is the product podium. Here we go family, his family Assistant program, which offers character those greeting of the military loved one, thank you, there you go, I loved And they announced him as a guard at the podium.

And if you plug that guy in it left guard with lylat right tackle, Tyring at left tackle, Zach Martin and Travis Frederick, you are right back to having one of the best offensive lines in the league. This is an A plus picks, all right. The fact is this young man's playing is listed as a tackle. Does that mean Lile Collins now plays guards? They announced him as a guard at the podium, they said, Connor Williams, I see, I see the tea right there next to the name,

right at the podium, they said. But let's the same thing, Stephen Jones the press conference. You figure it out if I mean, put them out there, and if you decide Connor Williams could play right tackle better than Lyell whatever. But I love the thought of this big dude playing left guard. I'll see it. That's you talk about Tyron Smith at left tackle and Connor Williams at left guard. That's the most athletic left side of an offensive line I've ever heard. That's nuts. Yeah, I like this pick

a lot. I feel really good about it. I've you look at the way this draft is set up, you know, Jeff, going back to what I keep making fun of you for, it didn't it did not look like a talent like this would be there for them at fifty. It looked like you're either gonna have to make it. You're gonna have to make that pick between nineteen and thirty five. That's why they play the game's day. You're right, That's

why they play the game. The way it was set up, it looked like it was either gonna be nineteen to thirty five or maybe you gotta wait to get an offensive lineman until the fourth round and instead pick fifty is a guy that some people talked about as a first round pick. I called his games when he was a high school he was a senior. I did Teddemrick and I did the Copel football games, and it was an amazing athlete, amazing player. Then went down to Texas.

A lot of people had this guy potentially as one of the top offensive lineman coming out in the draft. If I'm not right, if I'm not wrong about that Dane about you know, and things he got hurt in the USC game. I'll tell you what an athlete. And again Dave and I went down to the Pro day. They worked him out as the Saints, worked him out as a center, worked him as a guard. He's got great flexibility in the hips, he bends his knees and everything you want extend. I just think this is an

outstanding pick for the Cowboys. Though there was like, hey, you know, they said, you know, Jerry Jones even said, do we allocate more resources for the offensive line? Someday We're gonna have to maybe think about this. But they went out and got him one, with this young man outstanding. Love it, love it, love it, love five everyone. We did it. They'll be back on the clock at eighty one now that we've gone nineteen and fifty, and it matches up really well with what you needed to address.

You needed a linebacker who could play three downs. You needed this offensive lineman. Now you need a tight end or wide receiver. And I know, I know, we gallop we've been talking about all right, let's not get ahead of us. I'm ahead of myself. But I know we've been talking shot, We've been talking about receiver for so long, but it is important. But again, for the millionth time, I think you can win games with the guys that

are on this team right now. I do think you needed an upgrade on the offensive line, and I think you needed some depth at linebackers. So I mean, I'm not saying this is you know, home run, grand slam, knock it out of the park. But I don't see any reason why you should be upset about what the Cowboys have done so far. How does this team win games next season? Out of the ball And we saw how band aiding up that whole offensive line last year worked out for him. Yeah, yeah, this is what you do.

Marcus Martin, good death, Cameron Fleming, good depth. Right, let's go win. Yeah, I mean, I just this is about this is Dak friendly. Is what this is. We talk about that a lot. This as Zeke friendly as it gets right here, let's go and I love it. Man, I'm pumped. I'd wanted to get it off as alinement if some sort I just didn't think they would do it, even if, like in my case, I had the Cowboys first round pick. As a guy in a top fifty, he'd probably be around thirty five. For me. Connor Williams

would have been ahead of him. If you just take away the rounds they were picking, you say, hey, two rounds have happened and you got Layton Vanderesh and Connor Williams. Are you happy? Absolutely? I'm a happy draft at this point. So we're gonna wait on their third round pick, or if they're gonna trade up, if they're gonna move around. But right now, the Chicago Bears are on the clock at number fifty one. Their pick is in, and we'll have that pick and the others behind it when we

get back. You're listening to the twenty eighteen NFL Draft on Dallas Cowboys dot com and one oh five three the Fan dot com. It is our draft coverage Dallas Cowboys dot com and one oh five three the Fan dot Com. You got Jeff Cavanaugh, Dane Brugler, Brian brought us, David Hellman and Kevin Turner with you. And we will be with you for every single pick if you missed it. The Dallas Cowboys got Connor Williams, the Texas left tackle.

I would imagine he's the left guard here, but they got him at number fifty overall, which to us is an incredible value, great pick, and we are loving it here at the start in Frisco. Right now, the Chicago Bears are on the clock pick number fifty one. That pick is in. It is Anthony Miller, wide receiver out of Memphis and Dane. It's all of our guys, but it's your guy. You love Anthony Miller in my third receiver.

I loved what the Bears did last year at trabisky and then my boys shaheen at tight end on day two. They're killing it again this year. Roquan Smith and the first James Daniels and Anthony Miller here in the second love what the Bears are doing. Ryan Pace is doing an outstanding job as GM and Miller. That's two ones and a two on my board. Yeah, Smith, Daniels, Miller, Anthony Miller was a is a top forty pick on my player on my board. A guy who flashes little

Antonio Brown. I don't say that lightly. There's a lot to like about him. What he offers looks like the picks in for the Colts. Here, this is a pick that got from Baltimore or is this a trade? Let's see. I mean the culture is making a selection here two fifty two, so this is now the picks are moving quickly. Here. It's Komoco Toure the Rutgers. A defensive end, which is a guy what did he have a shoulder issue? Shoulder?

He had a shoulder repaired and I believe it was the right shoulder, right And watching him on tape, he lines up there on the left side and I watched him use that right arm to straight arm people left and right, so it looked repaired to me. And Komoco Toure is a guy that I didn't think was talked about leading up to this draft. And as the numbers are telling you, if you're on the TV, seven tackles for loss in four sacks. To me, those numbers don't do justice to how good he looks as a pass

rusher on tape. That guy looks like he's gonna be able to get after the quarterback in the NFL. Good looking body too, if you know when you talk about him and how he looks well but no, but he can like really bend, he dips his shoulder, gets real load of the ground to run around the corner. So can absolutely Can I interject here and do my Dave thing again? Absolutely Dave thing your partner's crew, go ahead, going back to our Connor Williams pick here at pick

fifty for the Dallas Cowboys. University of Texas Longhorns. Shout out Clarence Hill, it's his birthday. He gets a Longhorn Happy Birthday. Chill or Terrence, as Jerry calls him. Sometimes, Um, talk to me, Okay, we just said that this guy can do it all. Talk to me about how you feel. If he's gonna play left guard, give me a report on that. If he's gonna play right tackle, give me a report on that. What do you think suits him in those two pursuits? I like him best more and

think about it. The more I think at left guard, I think that's such an ideal fit for him. He's just a little short armed to tackle right right is good enough, but not thirty three is kind of the benchmark. So he hits it, but not ideal like you said, um, he's very athletic, he moves well, he's got some nasty too. Yeah, he will fish, he will finish. I mean the echo of the whistle. So uh yeah, I mean this is this is I was. I was, you know, you guys

know me. I was against offensive line in the first round. Did not like the value there here getting Connor Williams at fifteen. But to your point, Dan, and to your credit, though, you said you didn't feel they had to get something a little bit better than a band aid, and you didn't feel like though with the addition, and I might disagree with you just a little bit about you know, about Martin. I think he's a little bit better than

a band aid. But to your point, you know, you said, Okay, I'm on board now if they get somebody that is better than the band aid. And you know, and Connor Williams is clearly better than a band aid. I mean, he this is a guy that again, I just keep going back to that work. The tape is really good and the workout. I'm watching him work out at guard I'm watching him snap the ball at center. Yeah. Proday in Austin. I mean, we did our whole big series

about that. And you can go back and watch Cotter Williams going through the drills and you're and you're seeing a flatback player at an ankle bender, a knee bender. You're not see he They asked him to go all the way to the ground, put your rear all the way to the ground, just standing. I can't do that, and he just goes without even without even I mean,

just whoop right down to the ground. And that just shows you the guy's got some flexibility in his lower body, and I think that's really important to play in the offensive line. Twenty sixteen tape was outstanding. Twenty seventeen tape not as much, but you had some injuries mixed in there. But just the player, the talent to tape he put together. That's that's an awesome value at number fifty that the Cowboys got there. So now we have Tampa Bay and

the pick is in. We'll have the pick when pick number fifty three comes in for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So far in this draft, Tampa Bay has taken Vita Veya from Washington to play nose tackle, and they've taken Ronald Jones the running back. Jeez, this is their third pick in this draft and may have a bay is kind of that's it. That's not bad. I mentioned something real quick. You may uh so, Noral Thomas, Yeah, is coming gone? Is it? I'll take Connor Williams Well, I say,

time to write that off though, worthless. Jerry Jones, Jerry, they do have the war room. Camps still open for us, and it's a it's a smissing somebody. I'm gonna say it's emptied out in there. They're making a barbecue running and I'm happy to see Jerry Jones sitting right there in the middle of Steven and Jason Garrett and Jerry Junior. And I'll tell you what though, and Will McClay. They should be proud the way they the way they operated

that one. All right, here's the Buccaneers on the clock. Two. Yeah, Oh love it. Love of that player, Love that pick. Katie tell us about MP Stewart from North Carolina. Smart player would probably have to be better off, you know, inside in the slot, but you just never really seem get beat. He's a guy who has really good instincts.

He's he reminds me in a different way of Golden and just like their instincts now fast they play, they kind of make up for maybe a little bit below average speed, a little bit of quickness, but they're just so good at seeing things quickly and getting in the mix and making a play. He's just a really, really good football player. We also for you, guys, now we have we get this for every draft pick, but the audio when the players get called by Jerry, by coach Garrett,

by everybody there in the war room. We have the secret audio for you. This is Connor Williams from the University of Texas. We'll have that for you later. We'll have secret audio for you later. We will have it. It is going to exist, and we'll have it for you later. But so MJ. Stewart the last guy picked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which means we are on the clock at number fifty four in this draft, and that will be the Oakland Raiders back on the clock. No,

it will not sins Cincinnati Bengal. This was a trade that they meet earlier with Kansas City. I remember, Yeah, okay, so the Cincinnati Bengals have the pick in and as soon as we have it, you will have it. Best players available going around the room. Dane, what you, well, let's just go to the podium as the pick is gonna be Cincinnati trade for that guy, like man, there you go, wait wait for safety, wake Forest free safety. We talk about how free safeties finding those prospects can

be really tough these days in college football. But Jesse Bates is one of those guys that really came onto the radar and a lot of people had him as a second third round player and at free safety. He is going to be headed to the Cincinnati Bengals. I think, yeah, Dame Bugler had turned me on to that guy. I think you got a good you got a good idea about the player. Well, I was watching watching him throughout the season. Is the Florida State game in October. I

was watching as who the heck is this chcher soft? Yeah, he's making plays up and down the field. And so that's that's the game that turned me on to him. And then h you like the tape former baseball player, former center fielder, that's exactly how he plays the free safety position. So you worry a little bit about and run support. Only two hundred pounds will he be able to hold up physically. But he's a guy that trusts

what he sees, he goes and he makes plays. I'll tell you what, guys, I thought that to me, I thought he was really a true free safety, you know. I mean that's the one thing I'm like you talk about the ball skills. I think he has a feel for positioning himself for tackles, plays with it, you know it, plays with his offhand, knocked the ball away. Like the way he carries himself. He's not afraid to step up and make a play. He's always around the ball, can

play up back. But I'd like to see him a little bit more at single high look, you know again because of the maybe a little bit a bit of the speed. But it looks like the Carolina Panthers are on the clock here at the podium at two. Yeah, those offensive lineman drop a lot of weight. When it's all said done, Carolina Panthers their selection. Somebody wants an LSU player. Here we go. We got an LSU players

off the board, right, and he's going to Carolina. And I tell you the first who would have guessed before Chark or guys Jackson, who wins in a foot race? Done Jackson or DJ Chark or a cheetah? Oh, or a cheeta. I'll take Dante. You'll take Dante Jackson four to three guys, He's let it run fast. He's one hundred and seventy five pounds, so he's later. Yeah, but if you add ten more yards, Chark might get him with strides. Jeff, do you have this guy Dante Jackson?

Let me get to the notes on Dante Jackson. I know I had him as a second or third round player. Really twitched up really yeah. Yeah, and when you can fly, there's always value to that. Mean, that was part of what we really liked about Anthony Brown. When you watch guys on the outside and the goal is so many times you just run across the field from a dB, and that's hard to cover. When you have that type

of athleticism, you can recover. You'll take false steps, but when you have the makeup speed, uh, it really helps you as a dB. So I've seen Dante Jackson get bullied a little bit against Notre Dame. But he's a guy that's five to eleven. He's played it probably one hundred and seventy five pounds, so he doesn't have the big body, but he's just got he's got incredible makeup speed, the movement skills. Can get a little grabby, but he can.

He can flip the hips quickly, changes direction effortlessly, stays in the pocket with anybody. If he doesn't get pushed off, he'll play press man. My biggest knock on would be just getting moved around by receivers, and that happens when you're one hundred and seventy five hundred and eighty pounds. But that speed, the ability to cover, he's he's a good one. He's gonna be a good one. Quick question

about the whole race. Are we taking into account that the cheetah, the humans are are are not in the food chain, so cheetah is not going to attempt I'm going to run, Cheetah. It's just gonna run. It's just gonna run. Yeah, give me the cheetah. Okay, what that's what you get with Katie and Kevin. What if it's twenty there they are running twenty and the cheetah runs forty. Give me Dante Jackson Okay, oh no, and then charker Cheetah take the cat, and second take the cat. Always

take the cat. What if it's an LSU tiger chasing hey Mike, Mike the seventh. He's a growing boy. Yeah, that's the Patriots are on the clock. Uh there it's down two pick number fifties three usually day three is I'm gonna get too many picks left. We just got part Williams. You're feeling good. Dane is now giving you the side eye for like going into the cheetah talk with the Cheetahs. I worked with a bunch of clowns. He did bring up the cheetah. It was his move.

I emphasize the speed Dan. Dane's gonna have the draft meeting like the players do, and they play this tape for him like this is this is who you associated. It was clearly Dante Jackson verse d J. Chark though until Dane threw the Cheetah in there. But real quick, New England, this has been passing around this picks amazing. New England is basically just in there like they're they're just making trades with people. Yeah, not taking anybody. This was La to Buffalo to Tampa Bay to New England.

Does this pick? Yeah, I can't keep track of it. I'm out of space and my honestly, you're OCD like me. This sure bothers the hell out of me. I don't have any rooms to write the name of the team. It's not an NFL draft unless your trade. Unless your sheets look like just margin you re you redo them. Is what you do at the end of it, when it's all said you and you go back and make a nice copy of it. But now you just if anybody's at the Lincoln Place at the Star, that's where

I left my sheet. So you have a great piece of graft memorabilia with the first round picks written on him. Oh no, I'm glad I didn't give you anything really responsible, ye, so enjoy that. It's a nice piece of memorabilia. Patriots on the clock. The pick is in in round two, pick number fifty six of the twenty eighteen NFL and which this is. I think this is It's a great part about covering the Cowboys. I feel like not all NFL teams have media members from all over the world

weighing in on them. Oh yeah, so Albert Albert Breer from Sports Illustrator, who used to cover the Cowboys. He says, it's a it's a fun storyline, but the Cowboys were never taking Dallas Goddard, which we said. He said, the choice was which this is? This would be why Chris Richard and Rod Marinelli were in the room. It was between Connor Williams and Stanford's Justin Reid Eric Eric's little brothers. So interesting thought. And we know they need a safety.

So I feel like that that might have killed the earl Thomas talk. Okay, then if that's the case, then they've got two safeties on their board that they're that they're in love with tar various more more has to be one of them, and then Read would be the other. Yeah, yeah, so maybe okay, now up to get read now depending I mean, obviously you've got the screens down in the war room. Fourth, get you up to about seventy in

that range, get you about eleven. May well, you gotta it's kind of like in the first in the second round, you gotta, you gotta sweat out the first six or seven picks of the third. But if you if he's still there, I mean if and like I said, that is that is not usual to have defensively two different coaching groups in the room at the same time. So I don't know that's something to watch, all right, So

we're waiting on the Patriots selection. Here at number fifty six overall in the twenty eighteen NFL Draft, do we have any Well, we're at the podium here, here we go. What up? Do? What up? Do? Sure? All right? All right? Here had some more tiny corners. You're going one of the it's the it's the tough physical corners. Yeah, a

little bit undersize good play. That's what Duke Dawson is at the University of Florida, and he's going to be a New England Patriot under five foot eleven, but a guy that could play the nickel for you, a guy that is super competitive, not afraid of the contact, can cover like it. I like him. Duke Dawson is a good one. New England being off the clock means that at number fifty seven overall in the NFL Draft, we

are waiting on the Oakland Raiders. And this pick came from this Tennessee Titans say, this is where Oakland traded back to. Yeah, so Oakland will be picking here. It used to be Tennessee's pick. And let's go around for our sheet to see what we think the Oakland Raiders might have. It feels like every time the Oakland comes up on the clock that they just trade out of the pick. Well, they got Colton Miller, they don't need any more play great shape. Oh they gotta pick it's in.

Oh it's about time though. That's good. That is good to know. Let's take a look at our boards here and try to figure out who are some of the best players still left that they could target. If you were the Oakland Raiders, tell you what both of their top running backs are going to be thirty by the end of the year. If Darius Guys has enough value for you here, he has enough value for me. Let's had value for about a round, about a round and a quarter. So yes, let's see what the Raiders are

gonna do. It looks like they are on their way to the podium for pick number fifty seven. Yeah, this will be, this will be. This would be funny. Willie Brown will have a happy Mother's Day games absolutely right, give it to him, Willie give me the lets. I think the league might rethink this, No, I think right down the road. There you go, the first non combine invite to be drafted. Little Sam Houston State Action PJ Hall going to the Oakland Raiders. Dane tell us about

p J. Hall. You want to talk about production, I mean, he has remarkable production at the FCS level. I'm gonna pull up these numbers. They're just unbelievable what he did at the FCF level. Four year starter in fifty five starts, eighty six and a half tackles for loss. Okay, eighty six and a half, forty two sacks, nine forced fumbles, thirty three passes defended and then blocked kit blocked kicks

on special teams fourteen ridiculous numbers for this guy. And so he's his build is a little bit different for a guy that's six foot three hundred and eight pounds, and they played him differently. You know, he played outside, he would play stand up at three hundred pounds, and so he can push the pocket. I actually thought the motor was a little bit inconsistent. But he's a little bit of short guy, short arms, played a little bit out of position. But what you're saying that production, holy

cap And when the pro day numbers. Yeah, at three hundred eight pounds, four seven six forty yard dash one six six ten yard thirty eight vert thirty six on the bench, he needs technical refinement for sure. Yeah. Yeah, this is the problem. I think he's got really good initial quickness. I captured the edge. I would like to see what you're talking about, Jeff. He needs get rid of the blocker a little quicker. They can wash him up. The field needs to play this hands little bit better.

He'll hustle and make a tackle. He's got some power in that body though, to hit the gap and go. But you know, when he's on the move, that's where I think he plays the best. You know, and you're watching film, You're watching Houston Baptist, Houston Baptist and Carnate Word, and you know people like that. But I'll tell you what, he you're the right. The production is there, and but he's going to need a lot of technique work there

when he gets to the Oakland Raiders. Maybe my favorite thing about the modern NFL draft is that it seems like the entire league, meaning players, is following along with this the same way we are. Zeke Elliott just tweeted at Connor Williams and said, let's go get our rushing title back. I like the sound of that. Our rushing title pretty great. Okay, not like, but there's no connection there? Well there will be, Okay, Okay next year. Okay, let's just go get it all right. Now, let's hit it.

We have the secret audio of the Connor Williams pick the University of Texas tackle selected by the Cowboys, number fifty overall. Let's hear him on the phone finding out that he's a cowboy. Yeah, got somebody wants to talk to you, Dallas Cowboys. Hold on, we have it's played over the year, so we have the a lot of Falcons. The pick is in Cowboys yesterday. Yeah, that's their only pick so far, right as Calvin Ridley has been picked there by the Falcons, so other needs a little bit

all over the place. Let you look at defense, you Phillips, you're looking for a big defense. Make a lot of sense here. That would make a lot of sense here. That's gonna be the top rated D tackle I think on a lot of boards at this point, if we're not counting Maury's Hurst, Nathan Shepherd, and then some of the other nose tackles that I know, some of us like Dedrin Senat Derek Noddy from Florida State. So let's see they kept breaking into Shepherd. Yeah. I was staying

there thinking about him. He's one of my is one of my favorite guys. Anybody surprised Mason Rudolph still on the board. No, yeah, no, I watched him. No, I watched him play. He's not a very good player. So now I'm with you. I'm a surprised because I know how the NFL. No, you're right, And if Kyle Aletta or Mike White goes before Mason Rudolph, I wouldn't be shocked. No, I don't wouldn't be shocked. They should absolutely, So we're waiting on the Atlanta Falcons pick there at number fifty eight.

The order behind them. We'll be waiting on the Washington Redskins, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Cleveland Browns will round out the second round before we get geared up for the third round. Here go, we are at the podium, Michael Vick, Michael Vick, They're all taking their shots. Huh. Go. I think he was pretty high for a lot of people. I say, Oliver Colorado, you had if I remember right,

he had the ball production. But you're talking about a guy with the size, You're talking about the length and how did he test it the combine? Was he a speed guy too, sah okay, but the length? Yeah, and he didn't have great uh ball skills in terms of interceptions, only two I believe over his career. But a guy

that's always seemed to be in arms length. And when we watched Woozier and Witherspoon and Tedrick Thompson does Colorado DB's last year, it was twenty six that flashed as a sophomore this past year at a solid year uh and I believe it was Michael Gallop. They don't have to show the highlightskins Galliston Gallops quarterback is struggling to get the ball out on time. Michael gallowise he would

he would destroy him. Hey, respect, respect is deserved because he called Gallop called the corner Colorado corner the best corner he faced all year. So okay, we now have a special guest that's going to be joining us the fiftieth overall pick in the NFL draft, and your newest Dallas Cowboy, Connor Williams, is with us. How you doing, Connor? I'm doing well. Thank you for having me. I mean,

I mean, I'm blown away. I'm on cloud nine right now, What was it like when you heard that phone ring and it's Jerry Jones telling you you're gonna be a Dallas Cowboy? I mean, it was it. I mean it was incredible. My area coaching nine seventy two and I saw a nine seventy two number, and so at first wasn't sure, and then got on the phone with him, and I mean just blown away and shocked and having my family around, just instant tears from everyone. Yeah, and Connor,

I'm glad you brought that up. I mean, obviously you're he lived right down the road in Capel. Obviously be thrilled to pick anywhere, be picked by anybody, but I mean the hometown team. What's the relationship been like with the Cowboys during this process? And other than you know, being from Dallas, did you have any inkling that this might be where you wound up? Of course with their think going on and when asked this, if you have a favorite team, I've grown up in Dallas. I mean,

of course I was Dallas Cowboys fan. But you can't pick favorites. But I mean I've I've been born and raised a Dallas Cowboys fan, and I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a local prodey or the local day um at the Star, and I went with the O line coach, and I worked with O line coach and formed a good relationship and didn't hear much from then, and so once I got that number, it

was a complete shock and a pleasant shock at that. Connor, I know, being from this area, though you're probably pretty familiar with now your new teammates, that's you're gonna have to go into the huddle with and look at. Any thoughts about guys like Zack Martin and Travis Frederick and Tyrn Smith, You're gonna be h're gonna be kind of looking to you and you're looking to them. Any thoughts

about those guys you're about to play with. I am, I'm I'm stoked because the Dallas O lin has been the backbone of O line in the league for years. And being able to learning from Travis and Tyron and Zach, I mean, it's it's it's incredible. And U I mean, whenever I'm asked what's my favorite olnan in the league, I love watching Tyrant. He's an amazing, amazing player, and so to be able to learn from them and learn how to be a pro every day. I'm just so excited. Yeah, Connor.

On the NFL Network, on the screen it says tackle Connor Williams, but at the podium they said guard Connor Williams. What is Connor Williams a guard or a tackle? Our coverage of the NFL Draft continues here on Dallas Cowboys dot com one oh five three The Fan dot Com. Jeff Kavanaugh, alongside Dame Bruglar Bryant, brought us David Hellman and Kevin Turner. As we can recap some of the last few picks in case you've missed any. Connor Williams is the Cowboys selection at number fifty to complete that offensive line. Anthony Miller to the Bears at fifty one. The Memphis receiver Kimoco Terre. The edge from Rutgers is

an Indianapolis Colt MJ. Stewart. The corner from North Carolina is a Tampa Bay buccaneer Jesse Bates. The safety from Wake Forest is a Bengal Dante Jackson. The corner from LSU is a Panther Duke Dawson. The corner from Florida is a Patriot PJ. Hall Nose tackle Sam Houston State is a Raider Isaiah Oliver from Colorado. The corner is a Falcon. The Washington Redskins select Darius Geiss running back

LSU towards the end of the second round. Whatever the reason is that he got here, I'm sure we'll find out at some point, because it ain't the tape Darius guys deserved to me long ago. It's it's all over Twitter. You can see it. I mean, you know Ian Rappaport reporting vague things about maturity issues and unreported incidents at LSU. Like I said, I'm welcome to eat Crowe if stuff comes out at some point in time. But I'd never heard a word about any of this until he started

sliding down the draft board. And I know people who know things in Baton Rouge, That's where I'm from. So, like I said, maybe it's something, but it sounds like BS as I sit here now. But Washington just got a hell of a player at a partner. So so now you got in the NFC East. Ezekiel Elliott runs it for the Cowboys, Darius Geiss runs it for the Washington Redskins, and sae Quon Barkley runs it for the New York Giants. We are going on for the last year,

though we might find a new Eagle. Eagles got some picks left to make this draft too, and they need a running back now. The Pittsburgh Steelers pick has also been in. It is the wide receiver from Oklahoma State, James Washington, who I think in NFL draft circles when you study players is a really interesting evaluation. Who wants

to give a go at James Washington. Katam made an interesting point how we thought they would draft in Oklahoma State offensive player, but maybe the quarterback, but they didn't. They went with the wide receiver and this makes sense. You know they traded Martavis Bryant yesterday. They went with a new deep threat, a guy that is really good going down the field, finding the football, tracking and completing the catch, strong hands. You just worry about him in

a pro style system. Uh, you know, we have to learn a full route tree. That's gonna be the biggest obstacle for him. But I think the athleticism, he has enough strong hands. It's just a matter of will he be able to transition. A lot of big twelve receivers have not been able to do that. James Washington might be able to and if he does, he could be a steel At this point, still about twenty picks away from where the Cowboys would pick. Could this be the start of a wide receiver run? Oh? For sure. I

mean this is jar He's not lasting much longer. Can't gallop, There's no way right Equanimbius, Saint Brown, DJ Chark, Michael Gallop, Trey Kwon Smith for me, maybe DeShawn Hamilton, and you got a bunch of the full size guys whoever you like,

Simi Cobb, Javon Wims. I don't know where everybody else has those guys graded, but that's a bunch of guys that for me, belong right around this area or in the next twenty to thirty Gallop, Chark and Brown, Saint Brown for me, if you're giving me the if you're saying three receivers again, Gallop, Chart and Saint Brown would be the guys I'd go with. And so now where

are we. Who do we have on the clock. It's Jacksonville and their pick will be in I believe at sixty one there, Jeff Okay, So Jacksonville's got to pick in at sixty one. There are four picks remaining in the second round before we'll roll into the third round. Jacksonville and the clock pick number sixty one. We just await the pick. Let's reset the big board. Some of the best players available. Dane Brugler, I think we reset

the board. We look at it and again, not including more rehearsed here with his issues going on with the heart. Ronnie Harrison, top player on my board safety Alabama, Harrison Phillips the defensive tackle from Stanford, Carlton Davis corner Auburn, Sam Hubbard defensive end, Ohouse State, Equaminius, Saint Brown, Notre Dame wide receiver, and Tyrell Crosby tackle Oregon. And I throw Nation Nathan Sheppard in there. Uh, those was a seven players. They are all all my top forty players

are gone. All of those are between forty one and fifty. And let's take it to the podium. The Jacksonville Jaguars Roger Goodell, and it appears Mark Brunel. Yeah, we're approaching the podium. He trapped that guy in Green Bay. Great voice, I mean said he wasn't gonna last long. How about zero more picks? DJ Chark out of LSU the wide receiver, And I'll tell you what if you average twenty yards a catch and you're six two sixty three, that's enough right there for a team to like to make you

don't for top six year. So don't forget about the four three five forty yard dash or was it four three two? It was? Yeah, I think it was two four three two. He's something gross, absolute burner, and he's a full size guy. The NFL. If you make big plays, you score points on that drift and congratulations the NFL coming around. Three of the last seven picks have been LSU guys, So those teams will improve with one of the best universities in the nation. Am I correct about that?

David quarterback? Absolutely? Shut up. Leave Danny Atling alone. But I mean it's funny. I'm and I'm not saying it's a perfect can fly. I mean that that just okay, you lost Allen Robinson and the Bears, and now you got him back, like, I mean, that's you got. That's what Blake Mortal does is he says Leonard Fournette's very happy about That's Alan Robinson will go puck the ball? Thought different obvious eight. I'm not saying it's a team that's got to come to Dallas. Here. Stay there. That's

Steed Westbrook. Yeah, this is another kind of in that same vein type of receiver, except full size version. Yeah, a little little bigger. So now we have the pick is going to be in for Mike Zimmer and the Minnesota Vikings. They are there at number sixty two. I want to take a chance to revisit. Okay, So I mean does that qualify as a run on receivers? We got two in a row and three in the last ten or fifteen. Not like the way the Vikings are

doing things. Every time their name has coming up, they've they've just gone make the pick. N't make the pick? If Minnesota, I love you what you're doing, skull bro Keith Allard and I got kid to feel free technique galore right there. Oh, TV's furious that they're picking so fast. Oh boy, oh no, poorly organized? How do you feel about this? Because this is not quality. We don't have time for bits the athletic man. I will send this scouting report to Brian Broadus, who I believe is the

biggest Brian O'Neill fan. Yeah, I you know what. I initially I really like this guy, and then the Senior Bowl seeing him live boy, and a little bit I soured a little bit just because of the way he played with power and when people were playing against him. But this guy's are right. I mean, he was a left tackle initial quickness, He's able to mirror slide, he could do all the athletic things you want. He can get outside, keep his feet going. He stays after his block,

but there's times where he'll just back. He'll overshoot his guy a little bit. Technique is outstanding though, hand's feet work well together, can keep rushers off his body and make his man move his man around the coureback kind of ease a movement on the twist and stuff. But again, I just kind of feel like that the problems that he will have is people knock him back some in past sets and he doesn't have the strength of the inside cut off that you know. Again, He's one of

those guys that doesn't end up on the ground. Really good athlete though, but the game a little bit stronger. So I think that the Vikings got him a pretty good little tackle, last little a long tackle. Last time they took a tackle at a pit didn't work so well. Yeah, t J. Clemings, I got a bad foot. That was my guy too going in the draft. I liked him. Yeah, I am the sorry, I'm the champion of the you can wait on Receiver club? Are you? But are I'm

I'm not worried champion is about to retire. I'm not worried about it. But are you paranoid about the names coming off the board at receiver right? Not? If the NFL continues to not like Michael Gallup as much as I do, I'll just wait it out. At eighty one, I see trey Quan Smith, I see Derees Fountain, I see Ze Brown, Sat Equanimius, Saint Brown, Michael Gallup. I'm not I'm not worried about this yet. Now, if Saint Brown or or Gallup come off the board sometime in

the near future, then I'm a little worried then. But I think the Cowboys are still okay, Yes, because it sits yesterday we thought it picked seven, the Buccaneers would take Derwin James, right, Yeah, we all kind of locked in on that, right, the NFL community as a whole was pretty locked in on We did Via, then they did Ronald Jones, and then they did him j Stewart. Could safety be a place to go? Justin Reid's still

on the board. Yeah, more still on the board. I'll tell you our offensive line if you want to go. Tyrell Crosby's on the board, and I think I think that he is a guy that deserves to go here, if not earlier. But yeah, you still got good players on the board. I'd tell you from a cowboy perspective is I'm looking at the board. We're watching the wide receivers kind of get picked off one by one. But one of the spots where you're still looking really good

is if this team's willing to take their one technique. Yeah, third round, you've got Harrison Phillips, Dedrin Senat, Derek Noddy, Faticasi, Settle B. J. Hill, Yeah, Poona Ford, you got a lot of in Cincinnati. That's just my pick, and that's he may be a little bit later down the road. But yeah, but you've got some guys that once you start making your way to eighty one, there are some guys still worthy of that pick. You've got edge players still worthy of a pick pretty soon. I know, I'm

surprised we haven't seen the pass rusher run. Uh with sweat oun quo. Uh. You know all these just a straight carter and sweater, straight measurable picks through like that was one would make men love those guys, you know, being a pass rushers, you think that they'd be overdrafted. So I'm just I'm a little surprised we haven't seen a run on some of these pass rushers. I'm proud of the NFL for not just we're not just drafting combine numbers just yet. Hold off, well, what time they

drafted combine numbers. The worst player of the bunch, Terrell Edmonds can play. I'll fight every one of you, Terrell Edmonds, even though when I was watching Dan but he can play. But he can play. It's a tree. Have a trade yeah, Pikes in, so yeah Brown trade out. That thing goes to the Colts where at the point of where if it's offensive lineman or a cornerback or high five in here in the metroplex. Yeah, the guys who can go off the board that you likely won't also snatch up

the linebackers. I know you may want another one later, Katie, Do you still want Shaq Griffin with a third round pick even though? Okay, so yes, that's a yes. Let me ask you this though, and again, Ronde Barber at the podium for the Buccaneers, it could be Tiki. There you go. Now there is an Oh that's gonna be the second cornerback taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They took MJ. Stewart. Now they're gonna take Carlton Davis. So Stewart probably a nickel guy. Carlton Davis is your full

size outside physical press man. This Auburn. I like this guy a lot. Dane. You passing the eye test, Yeah, that's exactly what he does. Size, athleticism. Uh, he needs technique work. A lot of times he finds himself off balance. But you're just you're drafting the measurables here, just the raw skill. I think there's a lot to like here. Ball skills need to get better, but they just don't make many athletes that can move like that at that size,

they can play the corner position. This guy didn't give any ground. You watch him play. I mean a long guy, they just can stay with him. He's got range, the quickness to body control. I mean for a big, rangy guy. I love the fact that he could just turn. He could open turn, run physical, a little separation a game, but I mean he could deny his guy. I liked him. I like Duke Dawson, but I like this guy better

than Duke Dawson. You know that was picked earlier. M J. Stewart and Carlton Davis to the Bucks and that division where you now have Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley and Mohammed Sanu. You got the Saints and what they're running out there. Maybe maybe Dez Bryant at the end of that. Maybe. Yeah. I'm a I'm a sucker for win a team like the you know, the Cowboys last year just went dB heavy. A couple of years ago, after the Panthers let go

of Josh Norman, they drafted like seven cornerbacks. I love it when a team is just like, we're gonna fix this today. We're gonna take care of this problem, right, now I just I love it all right. The final pick in the second round belongs to the Indianapolis Colts that has picked sixty four overall and they are on their way to the podium. We got Roger Goodell with the card in hand, Indianapolis Colts Round two pick sixty

four overall the end of the second round. Not a bad player, great player, be everything, nation, gbag nation, a good one, Okay. Ty Lewis goes about four rounds. That feels kind of high for him. High. He's gonna be a ten year pro. He'll probably never make a Pro Bowl. But you know exactly what you're getting with him. He's stout against a run. He's gonna push great push off the edge. You can play him inside on third downs. He's just a solid player. Again, might not ever make

a Pro Bowl. Did you just describe Tyrone Crawford's kind of what's kind of what it sounds like you describe which good play, solid Day two player, good player, not earned himself an extension? Yeah, No, you're right. Yeah, I guess I'm looking at me and it says lines up all over in the rushman package. Knows outside. Nothing about him stands out, just a really okay player. He's just he's just got enough to be a solid player. Taykwon Lewis, So we shall see. He's number sixty four. And now

we are preparing for the third round. It's gonna be the Oakland Raiders that are gonna kick off the third round. Sixty fifth overall. They have picked Colton Miller and PJ Hall to this point, so that's one guy that can't play and one guy from sam Houston State for the Raiders. They are on the clock. It's sixty five overall. And as we go to the third round, we have a couple of couple of players that we were often mocked in the first round still available, Lorenzo Carter from Georgia

and Mason Rudolph Oklahoma State. And I just feel like, I mean, that's just it makes sense, you know, if the world makes sense again, neither of those two players made sense in the first round and they didn't even go in the second round. So I feel feel a little bit better. And for the sake of that other first round type of players still on the board. Murice Hurst from Michigan, that could be bad. I want Dane,

did you have Taekwon Lewis ahead of Sam Hubbard. No, yeah, yeah, okay, so yeah, I've got the wrong Ohio State guy coming off the board here, But we got more picks to go, and somebody's gonna end up picking the better players when they end up on the clock. It's gonna be great. Okay, So eighty one where the cowboys are? If you wanted to take pick one sixteen get I'm saying, if we're

getting excited about something here, who are you moving up for? Well, first of all, let me tell you where I can get Okay, okay, we can get to you know, seventy sixty nine seventy that's kind of the range there. I don't have a feeling who I'm moving up for. Do I feel like I need to get up to get trevarious more? I don't know about a tight end. You're interested in Mark Andrews? You interested in me and Thomas

one of those guys and Thomas? I I would sit and wait, I would too, Mark Andrews more than me and Thomas, Sir. He doesn't block for this offense. He blocks a little bit. He guys are They lined him up in line in the Georgia game and he was willing to block. I don't think he cares about blocking at all. I'm confusing, plus is just sicky, you know, Yeah, am I crazy? And I mean there's a lot of

picks until we get to eighty one. But safety feels like the play for me, just based on the fact that I hope, do you make a move for read maybe I mean if he falls, if that, if if Albert Brewers, and that's what Chris Richard was in there to talk about. If he continues to fall, I make a move, or we know they liked their various more third round sounds like a good range for him, and then I don't have a reason to think that the Cowboys love him. But Ronnie Harrison's a pretty damn good

value at eighty one in my opinion. According to Mike Mayock's Top one hundred, he is at number thirty four right now. Mason Rudolph would be at thirty seven. You talk about it first at forty two, but again we've documented Hurst. I think you just have to take him out of the play. Shepherd is very interesting to me. The Fort Hayes defensive tackle three fifteen pounds. You know someone has got I mean, they're gonna get incredible value with that guy. I hate to use that. Phillips is

another guy there, naughty. He's got all those defensive tackles in that spot together, and I don't disagree with him. Right there, there's some good tackles. I mean, we talked about those one technique guys. Yeah, this might be the This might be the round where we see some of those quick bites. So not. I just I watched his and I'm like my guys, she's in the backfield every single time. My favorite players in the draft. So third, third round, there's gonna be some value here. Get ready,

Raiders are at the podium. I love the Raiders. WHOA North Carolina A and T tack Parker Colton Miller and Parker. Brandon Parker from North Carolina A and T. Dane scouting report on our small school. Wait a minute, is this tart Cohen school? He blocked for Tree? Oh? I like him? Then, I bet he did a great job. I bet he hated twet Cohen Like man, I was blocking over here and you ran six directions? What are we doing here?

Brandon Parker hit us with it? Uh, four year starter, A guy who played left tackles, saw a lot of action he has. He might have the longest legs of any player I've ever evaluated, and so that causes him to play high a lot high hips and he'll get himself in trouble. And that's the biggest worry I have with him, is why I him a fifth round grade. I was not high on Brandon Parker. I think he's gonna have trouble against NFL pass rushers. But hey, the

Raiders went with Colton Miller and Brandon Parker. Two traits guys. Brandon Parker six eight, three hundred and five pounds, thirty five inch arms. It's interesting picks for tackle, you know what. I the two tackles that Dave Da've gone. And this reminds me very much of Raiders of old. This reminds me of Al Davis being on the clock and doing things like that. And I just, I mean, yeah, I'm Dane. I had a fifth round guy here, and but he

plays really so st right legged. Yeah, I mean you just you watch to you know, and but you know he can bull this guy when he gets into him. But I just I just feel like there's just not a lot of power. He's kind of a soft punch guy, and he has problems with his balance. I think if you're a tackle, you got to be able to have some balance, and you know, he just doesn't have that. His arm lenked is what saves him. His arm lenked

will keep rushers off him. But when they get to him, though, that's and that's when the power and the punch and all that stuff that's a little bit of a problem. It's the New York Giants on the clock now, and so far in the draft they've got sae Quon Barkley and they've gotten Will Hernandez, so they're off to a really good start if they're gonna try to run the ball.

I really, you know, I said last night, and I still I'm not convinced sae Quon Barkley is the right pick for them in the long run, but adding Will Hernandez to that equation makes me like it a hell of a lot better if I mean, I think that'll be a something that Joe Banner tweeted yesterday at the is a spot on The Giants are gonna love the Saquon Barkley pick the next two years, and then in year three they're gonna be like, ah, we should have

took the quarterback exactly, but they're gonna love the next two years. If you're if you're the Giants here and the pick is in but we don't have it yet, would you double down on that offensive line and spend the biggest problem Tyrell Crosby, the organ tackle is here. I would just go ahead and turn that card in the Giants that they have the left tackle figured out, in the center figured out right. That's it, and so

will Hernandez will answer one of the guard questions. You still have issues at right tackle and whatever guard, whatever other guard positions. So yeah, Tyroll Crosby, I think at this point especially is excellent value. They're also going to a three four, right, they're gonna they're gonna be a three four team, three four base yeah, So you've got

a lot of different options here. Their pass rushers that we like for a three four team, yeah, that would be nice, or some base ends that we would like they're yeah, they'll have they'll have some good options here for the New York Giants, and hopefully they'll pick a terrible player that would be ideal a wide receiver, or they're gonna take Dez Bryant at some point, or are we gonna don't. I don't see Dez Bryant there. I

really really don't. Okay, so I'm sure I'm seeing. We could go outside line, outside linebackers, rushers, quarterback, of course, but at this point you would just be taking another Davis Webb, wouldn't you. You're not taking the future if you're taking a guy here, maybe interior d line three four defensive ends. Their pick is in when the commissioners up there, we will know who they take, and we'll

work our way closer to the Dallas Cowboys pick. The Cleveland Browns are gonna pick after the Giants, then the Texans, and then the Giants again. And they are at the podium now with pick sixty six. They drafted him at the Cowboys, So weird had a cool face mask. Here we go. Oh you knew this was coming. Yeah, we mentioned going to a three four George and he's from Georgia, but we mentioned it. It's a three you're going to

a three four and you're looking for pass rush. So you take Lorenzo Carter, who the way they used him at Georgia probably wasn't the best way to use a guy like him, But incredible athlete six five, two fifty. Just line him up at outside linebacker and let him rush the passer. That's what he needs to be doing well. And I think he's I want to use him. I don't want to use him just as a pass rusher though, I mean because ball, yeah, everything, because he has he

has the range, the athleticism. Uh, let him drive, you know, use him as a you know, the offense doesn't know what's coming. You know, some plays. I'm gonna let him rush off the edge on some plays, let him drop us. He can do a lot of things. I think exclusively as a pass rusher. I just worry about does he have the power to do that, because he's not a power guy who's going to convert that speed to power move offensive linemen, especially in the NFL. Couldn't do it

at Georgia. I just I don't. He's just he's a better athlete than a polished player. And so I think, yeah, stand him up, let him play in space, let him do a little bit of everything. It might be the best thing to do with him. The Houston Texans are on the clock now, and somebody correct me if I'm wrong. They's selective player Hello, Texans, what are your team needs? I see offensive tackle as one of them, and Tyroll

Crosby's the one i'd pick. Oh, we are at the podium and it's Cleveland or no, Yeah, Cleveland's before Cleveland did a trade with the Colts. Oh, here you jump the gun, Jeffrey. I'm sorry, sir, it's okay. Just make the damn come on, Oh the music man, that'll be a reach for me. Chad Thomas of Miami Dane Brugler, what do you think a stout basse end a guy who's gonna offer some power at the point of attack. I don't know if he has the juice to bend the edge on a consistent basis and win with speed.

But you like the traits. This is what you're what you're drafting. Here, pack's power in his hands, he'll play the run. There's a lot to like about him. Surprised he's coming off the board ahead of a few other guys available, but understand the traits. Does this count as a run on ends for you, Dane, given that you don't love the guys that are coming off the board. Probably, but I guess you know some of the ones were

still available. Sweat and oquarn quo. I'm surprised some of those guys are not coming off the Hubbard uh edge of four. So I think some better players are out there. Chet Thomas is one of the more interesting players in the draft to me because of my music nut and he could go be a music producer if he wanted to. That was a concern a lot of teams have. Yeah, can you play? He played ten instruments and he's produced actual, like good music that's out there, like official, not just

underground stuff like he's produced it. And if football doesn't work out, he can always go do that. I can't. I can't. That's I hate that about the NFL, that that's seen as a red flag, like, oh, football is the only thing you're allowed to care about. Easily, he's not allowed to release an album. I mean, come on, if we're being honest, it's realistic. You're putting together fifty three man roster. You would prefer fifty three Shawn Lee cyborgs. Sure,

they wake up, they football, They they go home. They football. That sounds miserable, night sound miserable. But they're gonna win podium. Oh no, no sweating, Oh there you go. There you go. They probably just sat there and took the best player available with their first pick in the draft. Texans to not have a pick in the first sixty seven, and they did. Okay, coming away with read here in the early third that that that kills our hint, our hint that we saw Chris Richard in the war room an

hour ago. That was a guy they were talking about taking it fifty. He's gone at sixty eight. So back to the drawing board, back to Michael Gallop when we go, let's do it. I still I still think safety isn't is in play? Tight end is in play? Would you go safety? If it was more of a box safety? Would you go Ronnie Harrison on this football team? If he's still I wouldn't either. I don't have a reason to think that they want Ronnie Harrison. Okay, uh Golden,

would you guys put Golden on this football Yeah? Okay, this is this is the Rashaan Golden. I know book club in here. Well, here we go Byron Jones. What's all this? He's so quick, a great time at the combine, but his instincts don't work at free safety. Golden's times not exciting, but he makes up for it because his instincts are incredible. Nickel guy, though, isn't he could he could play free safety. I'm convinced he could play free safety.

He sees things faster than anyone else. I'll buy you all a milkshake if the Cowboys draft for Sean Golden, I will throw a massive pizza party. If they take Michael Gallup, oh that's fine. I'll buy all the Papa Johns you guys. But I think I mean they want a center fielder if they draft the safety. Tight end is something I'm looking at New York John receiver obviously, all right, Theodah, that's one of those uh nose tackles

that was on the board there. I know. I think I've mocked him to the Cowboys three times this spring. Just yeah, that NC State d line was absolute stacked and BJ Hill was a big part of it as the better defensive tackle in that group. And now we have the San Francisco forty nine ers are their pick is in and the Broncos are on the clock. We'll

get those picks when we come back. It is coverage of the twenty eighteen NFL Draft Dallas Cowboys dot Com, one h three the Fan dot Com, the San Francisco forty nine ers pick seventy. Their pick is in when it is announced, we will have it for you. We're waiting as pick eighty one belongs to the Dallas Cowboys and let's kick it around the room.

If you guys have a short list of a dream pick at this point, because I do. I'm just looking at my second round grades that are left and Michael Gallop wide receiver, Colorado State, Nathan Shephard, d tackle Fort Hayes State, layer, Sam Hubbard, Ohio State defensive end, Duke Asgia four Wake Forest defensive end or the four I would consider. Ronnie Harrison, the Bama's safety is the second round for me. Crosby the tackle at Organs, the two Rashawn Golden at Tennessee is a two. That's all the

guys I have as second rounders, and those three. I think I'd be less inclined to pick because you're talking box safety, nickel guy, and offensive tackle, and the other four probably helped his team more. And let's reset the wide receiver board real quick. Top three, Top five available on my board. Equaminius St. Brown, Notre Dame, Michael Gallant Colorado State, Trakwon Smith, UCF Dashawn Hamilton Penn State, and then Dion Kane Clemson. So those are the five wide

receiver available on my board. As we get closer and closer to eighty one. Yeah, Gallop, I'd go Gallop, Saint Brown, and Smith and Cobbs would be my four. The forty nine ers at the podium, Drew Pearson opened up a can of worms. Good run, head guy right there. Today's NFL. You gotta be able to cover Fred Warner b Yu. That's a linebacker they can cover. We will not come off the field. Yeah, even on special teams. He might play offense. He's not coming off. I don't know if

he's gonna play offense. You'll have to force him to come off the field. Look at him carry the ball right there after what was it after an interception? Yeah, he had a few of us. Uh, He's just he's a really good player in coverage. You worry about point of attack, but let him play that overhanging outside line backer position. He can cover in the slot, he can cover tight ends and backs. A big fan of Fred Warners.

That's a that's a nice pick for San Francisco getting some of that linebacker help with the issues going on with Ruben Foster. And speaking of linebackers, this is a start watching for Keim Griffin right now. That's a good Well. I just want to gloat and be a Homer for a second because no, no, no, no, no Cowboys talk, which okay, Josie Jewels still out there. But take a look, take a look at the board, and again, this is

not a deep linebacker class. If you hadn't drafted Layton vander Esh at nineteen, how good do you feel about what what's there for you right now? If you're trying to address that problem here? On day two, Darius Leonard went sooner than you thought he would. Fred Warner just went off the board. I don't you still had Jefferson if you thought about it. You don't like Mali Christ the Cowboys? I mean, is that the podium go Broncos are on the podium at the podium. How about that?

There you go. Royce Freeman, the organ running back is going to be a Denver Bronco. Their draft so far Bradley Chubb in the first round, Courtland Sutton in the second round, and now Royce Freeman in the third for the Denver Broncos, which is going to put who is at number seventy two overalls? New York Jets are now going to be on the clock as Royce Freeman is the latest one off the board. Who wants it? Who wants the Royce? I don't anyone love him. I don't

think I got him a fifth round? Yeah you love the production. I mean the guy hits set so many records in the Pac twelve. Uh, there's so much to like about him from that perspective, and just look at the resume. But what's special about him? You know, like, what does he what's his best trait? What do you like best about what he does? It's not overly quick, the power is average. He's not gonna break a lot of tackles. It's just I come away just liking him, but not loving him. And I would have a hard

time turning in that pick here. But he's a very accomplished player, there's no question about that. I didn't see a home run hitter at all with this guy, and then I didn't. I didn't. He's not gonna make many cuts. He's kind of a one speed guy. I thought he was. Again, he's about terrible pass blocker. This guy is that his technique is not good. He doesn't stay in his blocks. He's a one shot guy. He didn't handle blitzwell. I don't know how you play a guy that doesn't have

speed and can't pass block and brought a swell. We just took a running back there. I'm not saying they would do it, but the two running backs the Cowboys have been tied to Hines from uh In State and um Edo Smith from Southern miss Right, I don't think they'd do that here. But just because a running back just went syah see, I mean early for Edo and then I mean, if you want spot for Hines, if you want Hines, you'd probably have to take him here. But and I was just you know, we've talked about

that so many times. This is such a deep running back class. It's just seems it seems awfully early to take a third running back for this team. Let's take a look around at the Cowboys people that they've shown interest in that are still available, that we think are going to be relevant at this point. What are some of those names? Nihem Hines is one of them, the

running back. I don't think we're talking enough about the one techniques that are gonna be here that there's plenty still gonna be left on the board, even at Harrison Phillips not I think if we want to include naughty in that discussion, find a Cossie. I think there's plenty of one techniques in that conversation we had Jets at the podium, No love them. One of my favorite players

this year. Such a great story going starting in Canada. Yeah, Jets are having themselves a nice, nice draft started in Canada. You know, it took a few years off. He started as a linebacker at a high school. So much to like about what he brings now he dominates on tape, sure does. I mean there's just no Division two blockers that could handle him. And he lined up a nose tackle, lined up outside. It's a little bit of everything, and so you at the Senior Bowl is big for him.

To see how he would do, and he dominated through two practices before he broke his hand. So yeah, we'll see it on the screen right now, just blowing by Will Hernandez like it's nothing. He's an older guy. Shots fired at Will Hernandez. Sorry, giants. He's just a really good player, and at this point in the third round, that's a steal. So Nathan Shepherd and Sam Darnold or the players the Jets have gotten today. They didn't have a two, did they. They trade her all their twos

they go up to get Darnolds. Okay, So Sam Darnold and Nathan Shephard is their draft all so far. That puts the Miami Dolphins on the clock. They have Minka Fitzpatrick and Mike Gisicki, the Penn State tight end, have been their picks so far. So the Miami Dolphins on the clock at number seventy three, and that pick is in so as soon as we have it, we will

let you know who they are taking. I'm I'm kind of happy, and nothing against Nathan Shephard at all, but I'm kind of happy he went off the board so Brian wouldn't get mad when the Cowboys didn't take him because I feel like that's what would have happened. You're gonna laugh at me here, but I had him over Brian the Florida defensive lineman differ in the first round. I'm not gonna laugh at you, but that is surprising. Yeah, I mean he was as a hell of a vote

of confidence two. I really, I really did. I just think there's a lot of violence to that guy. You know. I give me a guy that's gonna go in there and cause problems and be strong. I think he could have played the one. I think at three hundred fifteen pounds, I think he could play the He's got those the traits for the three. So disruptive guy. I'm gonna follow his career. Mike mckegney, congratulations, my old NFL europe buddy

made a good pick there, all right. So, looking at the Cowboys board or at our boards, and with cowboy relevance to it, some of the guys that they have shown interest in that are still the highest rated up guys here for us, who are we looking at? Who are our cowboy interests? Our visit? How many visits do we have left? I just think Tavaris More, there's one name that we've tagged for at eighty one for a

long time. Um, so you know it's risky to sit and wait on him, but I just feel like that is something that we've kind of seen for about a week and a half now, just kind of ready to go that at eighty one, perfect value for him and get your free safety competition for him and Xavier Woods. I would say it free safety. What has worked for the Cowboys so far as sitting and waiting. Yeah, you know, we're very patient. They really wanted late and Vanders they sat,

they got him. They really wanted Connor Williams. They sat, they got him at some point, you because you wonder they don't. We don't expect them to use all ten picks, you know, maybe just why not why not throw a six rounder in there and move up a couple of spots just to get rid of one pick and you know, guarantee you get your guy. But yeah, it seems like they feel more inclined to sit put, which we'd see

who falls real. I mean, I'm reading off the list guys, and not all these are thirty visits because some of them are local guys. But Derees Fountain, h Edo Smith, Niam Hines, Uh, Antonio Callaway. That's that seems way too early for for all that baggage. Michael Gallup was a private workout. I'm just telling you. I think they worked out every freaking receiver in football. Tell Um, who else? Who else? Uh? DeShawn Hand how about this one? And I promised Dan, I'm not being a homer arden Key.

I took him in the sixth round. You don't draft players a drug problems. Yeah, that's a good point. Well, this team has. What about ones that showed up out of shape for the year when they were trying to go get their NFL money and they were overweight and not explosive. No, I didn't say they should. I said that he was a thirty visit and he's available, uh to to various mores out there. Tracy Walker's out there, Kaiser White, the West Virginia safety is out there. Uh,

Deshaun Elliott? Who well, I mean that's so yeah, okay, I mean that's kin your range. Give me your top available players. What's your board look like at this point? Again, marisearchs not included Ronnie Harrison, Harrison Phillips, Sam Hubbard, Equal Media, Saint Brown, Tyrell Crosby, o'karon Quill, edge rusher, Oklahoma, Rashawn Golden Tennessee, Gallup Colorado State, so not South Florida, Juicy Jewel and Orlando Brown? Would you put? Would you pick

another linebacker? I think they have to double dip. Yes, yes, I why not? I mocked starters. I mocked that two linebackers. Linebacker they draft is a chance to start here just because of the injoying factor. And I've I've sat here and watched this Dolphins at the podium, he's announcing the thing. Okay, Jerome Baker. If there's a big Jerome Baker fan in the room, speak up, because what I saw was an athlete that I didn't think was a great football player.

So he's gonna play lineback. He looks pretty running around, he's undersized, he can really run. But that number, just get the number very dirty. I didn't see a real good football player. I would have taken a chance on im, probably in the fifth m. But you know that's uh, we're talking about the third here, we're talking about top seventy five. I guess I'm not surprised because he is such a good athlete. It's an upside pick if he has a free lane to the ball carry you haven't

had a lot in the NFL. Yeah, it looks pretty, it does, guy, but he's not even for a guy that's range. He's not even really accomplished in coverage. So I don't know, I don't get it. I think there's much better linebackers available on the board. So you know, sorry, Dolphins, hopefully I'm wrong. How about take people on square? You know? How about though you know he won't do that. He won't do that, That's what I'm saying, And he can work through the trash. He'll put himself in position he

didn't finish. I mean, I see a guy who plays a little light is a hard time when he has to deal with size. Effort to take on blocks is poor blockers just pushing past the hole. I didn't think he was wearing coverage. Dame was talking about that we're at the podium with the Redskins. Whoa, it sounds so mad about that podium? What does huh? I mean, man, I don't mind it. I think I liked him more

than you guys did with Christian. He has really long arms and light feet just a matter and he's very young. He just needs to improve the technique and so hopefully he doesn't get pushed on the field early. But this is an upside pick. I think that you give him his offensive line coach or in Washington, Bill Callahallahan running game with that guy. Let mister Callahan get his hands on drunk Christian. I think in two years you're gonna have a starting tackle this guy play. It's funny. He

lines up to the boundary side. Yeah, they flipped tackles back really yeah, yeah, anybody. Yeah, he tends to duck his head a little bit and it ends up off bounce a little narrow bass guy. I thought he really could extend on the rusher though. Tries to sit down his man, but can get walked at times. Long arms since Dame was talking about, really helps him. But you know he can he can knock people off balance. So

I think that you're right. I think you like him a little bit more than I do, But you're right. An upside pick. There chiefs at the podium, right, he's a real player. Right, there's a little differently, Oh, Jeffrey, that's one of our nose tackles off the board. Derek Noddy of Florida State. If I remember right, he didn't test well to combine. But you watch him on tape and you are talking about a powerful dude that he's a force when it comes to stop in the run.

I'm a I'm a big She's always pick guys like this. I am a big Derek Noughty fan, you know, to be a cowboy. The Cowboys are only one out of thirty two teams, like other teams get to draft good players, you know what I mean. No, that's okay. Because Michael Gallup is on the board. I'm gonna get him in the fourth round. Watch. I'm gonna be the only guy that really likes it best. I'm gonna be devastated. They're gonna take him. It's gonna be incredible. We're all gonna

love it. All right, we're creeping close now the Dallas Cowboys back that's coming back on the cloth. Could this be the quarterback? To earlish? Well? Who who'd they take last pick? Uhh? Yeah to night James Washington. Sorry, it's hard to keep it together for a minute. The Pittsburgh Steelers to pick his in and we are at the podium. Wait, so that trade with the Seattle yes, yeah, that probably kills the Earl Thomas thing not. I mean, I think we all kind of assumed it was dead, but they

moved back three spots. What what do you think they got for it? Again? A former We got defensive coaches in the Cowboys war room. We did last time too. It's true. So all right, Mason Rudolph is going to hang out with James Washington, his teammate in Pittsburgh. I'm in the AFC North. I don't feel good about Baltimore getting Lamar Jackson. I feel okay about the Steelers getting

Mason Rudolph. I'm not too scared by that. Last time the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted a big twelve quarterback, Landry Jones worked out how you kind of expect. Not a huge vote of confidence in Josh Dobbs. Huh yeah, I think weak that this sn last year and fall back on that NASA degree that he's got. You know, it looks rockets. Looks like the Bengals have the next two picks. Unless I'm off somewhere, Steeler is traded in front of Cincinnati these two picks to get the quarterback they were worried

Bengals might grab Mason Rudolph discussed last night. Jeff, you brought this up. If you're a Bengals fan, don't you maybe a little tired of Andy Dalton? Yeah, yes, I would think so. But I don't know what your option is right now if you're gonna replace him. I mean, I guess third round, I can take Kyle Aletto with one of these two picks. Maybe he brought us you would prefer Mike White with one. Yeah, I'm a fan

of Mike White. And if you're yeah, I had Mike White in the third round, and you know Mason Rudolf and the fourth and I had let ahead of Mason Rudolf. And I agree with Dane the guy he stands there and the receivers are open, he throws it down the field. You know, I had good for him, but I just again, I just don't see a guy I would be a little bit worried about him having to make some of those tight window throws. It just gets everything's open for him.

It's just way open, and and you know it's easy. I think some of the stuff that you were scared about with Baker Mayfield, you know, I trust me. I like Baker Mayfield so much more. But Mason roof, I think it's a hard read for these uh for these uh these big twelve quarterbacks. Right, guy, do you recognize the guy sitting right under the star next to mister Jones governor? Is that really? And I think that's Graig Abbott? Oh damn. Yeah, well I'll be damned not expecting that. Yeah,

he's gonna make the pick here. Well I'm here. I'm sitting here trying to figure out what that might mean for their conversation. And it's the governor. Okay, So what's it means? If it means I don't pay attention to politics, took the University of Texas guy the last pick, that's a good point. Okay, all right, who's the local guy who taking eighty one? Chris Rochard and Roger Ellie are once again back in here, and I take a Republican. This is gonna be safety. This has got to be

a safe I don't see I don't see an offense. That'say, Yeah, what were you gonna be there? I think? So? Is the value? Is the value on Ronnie Harrison too much to ignore even though that's not the type of the Now there you go. You have too many strongs on you have it's you have all strong Yeah, you don't have a free Okay, But then again, how about Garrett's relationship with with Nick Saban? Yeah, but do you draft a guy you don't want because your buddies with Nick Saban?

It was good to get Rolando mcclin in here, wouldn't it. It's a good hey, he had a damn fine twenty fourteen seasons. Sir, he shared my favorite Cowboys ever. I would like to go fishing with Roland. Oh yeah, he knows how to fish. The opportunity ever presented, would I would give? If I could pick, like any story to do. I would want to spend a weekend fishing with Rolando McLean. And I mean, obviously he'd let me write about it.

Be great. Yeah, he probably would. I'm saying, as long as he could take a glance over it, kind of proof read it. God, that sounds scary. Take a couple of things out. I mean, last time Paul Alexander was in this room, and I don't see an offensive coach. That's okay. I didn't recognize the governor, but he's not a Cowboys offensive coach. So he's well known to be uh, you know, a defense guy. I don't know anything about the governor's football background, sir, without googling. But yeah, the

war room, we got Jerry talking to the governor. Stephen Jones is coming across the table. Jason Garrett is getting involved in the governor conversation or at least observing it. McClay is trying to run a draft. Well, it's like, hey guys, hey, hey, hey, hey, the annoying thing about kind of close. So what's the deal with the Texas when they when they drafted Layton vander Esh the linebackers coach here is a guy by the name of Ben Bloom actually ran into him today, given Layton a tour

of the building. They didn't call him in here for that pick. And so between Chris Rochard and Rod Marinelli, you cover all three levels of the defense because Chris is the passing game coordinator and the dB coach, Rod Marinelli is your pass rusher coach. So it's hard to really divine what this means other than that you're probably going defense. Let me set the scene here a little bit. There in the war room inside the Ford Center at the Star at Frisco, Chris Hall once again is on

the phone. He is on the phone with Robert Blackwell, who is at at and T Stadium. He's video director representing the Cowboys, and he will hand in the card. It looks like that the Bengals selection is in, So Chris has got Blackwell queued up as soon as they get to that pick, and then he will fire it off. Let's go to the podium and the Cincinnati Beings. Hopefully they'll make two pigs. Did I say Sam Hubbard was going to go to the Cincinnati Bengals? I believe you did.

Did you said Sam Hubbard is going to go to the Cincinnati because say Rangles who they're taking the first round? Make it out the pick. Let's go back to the podium. Oh, they worked him out. They did, They sure did. They were down there the workout and Austin when we were there on our Triangle tour. Yep. And so yes, Malik Jefferson, I think that's a good range for Malik Jefferson. Yeah, Sam Hubbard, this feels like he could be the best

player available. MALIEK. Jefferson. This is about the spot where you take a chance on that sort of athlete and what he could be if you could get him. I don't want to say instinctually right, but read react, respond to the play, Like, if you could get that part of the game right for him, you could end up with something very good. And what we've been telling Longhorns fans, uh, you know the entire process is the third rounder. Yeah, exactly,

it's I think you're you're spot on. This is exactly where you take him outside of the top seventy five. It's a it's a good spot for him. He's not gonna be someone that's gonna be expected to come in from day one and be the guy, but he could develop into that. So that's pick seven, twenty seven, and seventy eight. We got seventy nine eighty and then the Dallas Cowboys, so they are three picks away. Let's sneak our break in now. Okay, we know we're back and

I have it if you'd like to know who are the Dallas Cowboys taking with the eighty first pick and the NFL Draft? Why are you milking this? The Dallas Cowboys select high five Jeff Michael Gallup of Colorado Day. Do they really is that the real pick? That's the real pick. I

wouldn't do that. You're serious. This is the greatest Cowboy draft of all time, of all time. He did not say that last time there, Scott. Yes, Yeah, let's let's go have a question. Let's let the Cowboys make the selection here where we can get clean audio of it. Our friends, Travis Frederick, let's go to the Podium's len a hand behind the door. That's a new one that's never happened before. There it is. I absolutely love it. That is two picks in a row. They've taken the

top player on my board. All right, Connor Williams and then Michael Gallup. Let's party Michael Gallup. We get a pizza party. You do? Yeahza listen. I will figure out the date and I will invite the entire Metroplex because Michael Gallup is one of my favorite players in this draft. Talk about that is a dude that I think everybody here would say something similar. If you're looking for a weakness, I don't know what to point you to. No, he's not six foot three. No, he doesn't run a four

to three. But he's a good route runner. He's a physical player, he's good after the catch, he'll catch it contested, he can line up across the formation. I'm a huge Michael Gallup fan, and he's gonna get snaps in his first year here with the Cowboys, and he's gonna be a big part of the passing game going forward. I love the pick. Yeah, I think you're spot on. And I wasn't on board with you guys in a second round, but here in the third round, I think it's a steal.

It's a great pick here. You kind of summed them up. There's nothing that really distinguishes him, like from a size, speed standpoint, but he understands his skill set. He's very detailed. He gets the most out of what he can do.

And you look at the production over twelve hundred yards the last two years Juco guy, So the last two years at Colorado State, there's a lot to like with what he could do at the numbers four four five, at the forty yard dash ten eight and abroad thirty six in divert six nine five three cone six one two h five. Really good pick here in the third round. I'll tell you what, man, this guy is really good with the ball in his hands. He can adjust to it too. He'll go low and get it. He can

run deep routes. He pushes off for space, he can get off the line, he gets through double teams. He'll take routes inside and he'll go get it. I like how he slaps the hands away at the defensive back to to win off the ball. He knows how to do those types of things. He'll come back and go get it too. Start stop quickness. He finds ways to make it plays. I think he's a really good route and this is something that this team desperately needed. They needed a guy that could separate in routes and be

a good route runner. I think Michael Gallop I had him in the second round. He was in my top fifty. I'm really happy that third receiver. You guys know how I feel about Maryland's Dj Moore, now member to the Carolina Panthers. It sounds it sounds like you're describing DJ Moore light. Yeah, says not as dynamic, but yeah, very similar. But yeah, I mean that's that's what you Yeah. I mean, I don't want to compare him straight up, but that's

the type of guy you're getting again. Yeah, it's it's not your Courtland Sutton it's not your Equanimius Saint Brown, but honestly, the Cowboys had that guy better. Well, I'm interested, I am. I'm fascinated by the future of a Cowboys team where it's gonna be route running that creates the mismatches as opposed to physical size, because and hey, Das Bryant's one of the best players in the history of

the franchise. But we've seen what that looks like. I'm intrigued by this offense is going to look interesting because you got a bunch of guys who can get open, and you got a hell of a left guard to help you open up this running game as well. I like the way this is shape on my board. He was fifty nine overall, so I feel like that's uh getting him an eighty one. You gotta love it. Wide receiver one. This year we did it Michael Gallop wide receiver one for the Dallas Cowboy. You wanna you wanna

try to predict that depth chart right now? Let's see, we will. Let's see where's he gonna start at. He's more of an ex play either. I think probably ideally he's an X because you see the physicality to deal with press coverage and fight through that. With Alan Hearns on the roster, do you don't have to run Gallop out as your starter on opening day? But I think he's gonna play snaps and he's gonna work his way in and he's going to end up being the best

receiver on this roster. This guy's a really good route run. I don't know why you couldn't. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know why you couldn't. Again, you find what he finds ways to make makes play. This guy's a really good route runner. And the fact that he can release off the line, I mean, he can make contested plays. I just feel like, you give me a guy that's a good route runner. I'm gonna put him at Z and I'm gonna let him. I'm just gonna let him

wear people out. I think Terence Williams, you know, is gonna have to be and you know he's coming off an injury. Terrence Williams is gonna have to fight to keep his job with this guy, I really really do. I love it. I love him after the catch two. Yeah, physicality, the toughness, breaking tackles, sure he'll make occasionally, but more often he'll run through it. He's a tough dude. Yeah,

and Dan, and Dane's right. I mean again, here's the second round guy on my board, a top fifty guy, and they get him here at at three eighty one. Come on standing. That's that's doing your work right there. A matter of fact, off my board, the Cowboys have taken three players all off my board. They're all in the second round. So with Lateranderish, Honor Williams, and then now with Michael Gallas. Uh no, No. The team that

got for me too three number two is yeah. The team, the team that always seemed to get me on the top fifty was the the LA Chargers. They hit like five of my top fifty guys last year. And there, Ravens, you still like our guys a lot. The Cowboys. By the way, we're on the clock presented by you Blow. We love so much. Were the Lions are at the podium Universe once again. Stephen Tillock is gonna make the thing basketball. Good player, yeah, really good player. Good player.

Someone the Cowboys brought in, yep, the safety from Louisiana Lafayette. He is a good player. But I'm still in my Michael Gallop after my draft is my draft is over one other one other thing about Gallup too, He's r KG. The right kind of guy, is he? I didn't I don't know the character. Talking talking to people at Colorado State. They love his presence in the building, what he brings, what he offers, plays with a chip. He's a he's a worker, so he fits well with what this team

wants from a character leadership standpoint. I'll take to Tracy Walker because I do love the kid. I mean, you look at him. He can cover some ground, he'll hit you. He'll struggle with some angles at times, but he moves pretty easily. You can make tackles in the open field. I love the way he could come out of his pedal. Nice change of direction. Can be a little bit too aggressive. Coverage can be a little shaky, but he'll play out, blocks lines up at times in the slot. That's what

I'm saying. We saw a kid last year here, Xavier Woods, play safety and playing the slot, so you know he did. He did a pretty not a half batch job. If you watch the Texas A and M tape, he covered Kirk all over the field. That was really good. Ravens Select, I'm sorry about that. Ravens are now on the podium. Awesome Oklahoma offensive tackle. He said that because Orlando Brown's father, zeus H was a member of the Baltimore Ravens at one time um and passed away a couple of years ago.

Uh so Orlando Brown gets to go and play for his dad's team. Uh. Here in the third round, we talked about him at length had the historically bad combine, but you watch the tape and he just doesn't have many bad reps. Tape probably would have gotten him picked forty or fifty picks higher than this. The combine probably just cost him a round and a half. But when you just watch him on tape, behold. I mean, that's

he's just he's such a monster. He's such a huge guy that even when because you can see on tape that the athleticism is not great, there's times where he's out of position, but just the power in the length, he's able to save it because he is so big and he is so strong. The tape is a lot better than to work out. And I think he's going to be a starter in the NFL. I want to go back. You know, you're still in your Michael Gallop after glow. Now, I mean now I'm back. I came back. Well,

I want to, I want to take it back. I always I have to really all back in the time. But that's that's fine. But look at this, and I can't help but have flashbacks of last year when you know, I assume the Cowboys aren't going to pick again tonight. They could, but you look at it. We go back to last night. Layton vander esh not a pick that gets everybody excited. Obviously, the Cowboys think all their picks are gonna be all pros, and that's what Cigars and

Johnny Walker Blue Yeah, absolutely. Hey, all right, let well let's go to the phone. But a pin in that where we have the latest Dallas cowb the newest Dallas cow I will not calm down, Dane. I tried to pick him and the Dallas Cowboys did it, So I'm excited. Michael Gallup, Colorado State, the newest Dallas Cowboy. How you doing, Michael,

I'm pretty good at how about you? We're great. I will have you know that the people in this room, no forget the people in this room, me especially, have been trying to get you picked since they picked at number fifty did you know the interest? How did you forget? How did it feel when Jerry Jones was on the other end of the line. I mean, ones can't even describe that. I mean, everybody wants to go play for Dallas. Everybody wants to go play. But I mean when he said,

Michael gallup, now, I mean I just crowze up. I didn't. I don't know what to think, what to say? But oh, was it? Fiy? Did we see right that you ended up on the phone with the governor? Yes? There they covered the coffee. How is that a we? I mean, it's already one of the best moments of your life? Is it hard to process? Like all of us, you're on the phone with the governor of Texas? Yes, sir, um, you know all I can said it was you know, yes, sir?

No siry now was about it? I couldn't believe that. So, Michael, I mean, you know, Cowboys fans all across the Dallas area, all across the world probably listening to you right now. You just just a snapshot of what you're all about as a player. Obviously the Cowboys liked you enough to draft you the third round. Just what exactly do you bring to the table. What do you do best? I mean, obviously,

I just I mean, I'd love to going to compete. UM. A lot of receivers, you know, some of us are you know they say that with a little bit of a you know, primima downa side. But you know I don't take lightly to that. UM. I like to go out there and compete. I like to be a strong body. UM. So you know, I'm gonna get into Dallas and I'm gonna give them everything I got. Have they talked to you at all about the role? We were kicking it around and it seems like you're a guy that can

line up wherever. But have they talked about what they envisioned for you. Well, they didn't want me to cut down and help them win bio games. That's what they told me. And they said, you know I can do that from a variety of ways. So UM, that's all I'm just getting lady to do. All right, Michael Will, Congratulations and welcome. I'll tell you we in this room are incredibly excited to hear your name called at number eighty one and looking forward to getting you down here,

meeting you and seeing you play for the Cowboys. Congratulations, Yes, sir. I appreciate that very much. All Right, there he goes Michael Gallup, the best pick in this NFL draft and the first guy to call me sir in my life. Yeah, and then when you meet him in person, he's gonna not He's gonna take it all back. I picked you, Michael. I gotta appreciate you. We gotta like you. They don't call you, Jeff. I don't know if that's true. They don't. I know, do you believe that you've got a three

year track record? You believe that? I do believe he wills picks though. I mean, we can tell they're that laptop's open, they're refreshing his Twitter, they're loveing to the draft coverage, they're monitoring my Twitter, and they're making the picks. One thing I really like about Michael Gallup is this is a guy who has overcome a lot of adversity from UH didn't have the scores out of high school to go to top school, so I went to JUCO.

Got hurt, so some of the top Power five programs backed off because the Colorado State and all he did was produced. So he's had to overcome a lot. Let's go to the podium, the Chargers are picking Jones, those NC State guys you throw on the tape, that's a that's a good watch they have. They had a really really good defensive line. I'll take for me, Justin Jones. That's early for him. I loved d J. Hill in there, Justin Kiver, yeah, Justin Jones. Yeah, but that was an

incredible defensive line they had it. And Dane had to set me straight when I accidentally made a wager during the season on the wrong team. He's like, did you not know that NC State has a whole lot of NFL players on the roster And I said, no, I didn't, Dane, it's not draft season yet. There's a lot to like about him. But honestly, that kind of made it tough at times to evaluate them because they're for future pros. Yeah, with Chub and Cantavious Street, and Street might have been

off the board by now if not for the ACL injury. So, uh, you know, he's gonna be picked probably at some point tomorrow. It just it made it tough at times to evaluate them because he saw a lot of one on one matchups. Still, though I'm a little surprised. I thought, uh, you know we'd see some of these other tackles come off the board. Heck, I'd rather take a chance on more reshearsed and it's ticker. Yeah, before I took Justin Jones. But yeah, I mean we

talked about it. Dan, You're absolutely right, Hearst. You know Senate Phillips, you know, Phil how can a guy? And we got the Panthers now on the clock here, podium, excuse me, let's go to it. There we go there. We're a fan of that in this room. There is no do we need to do. We need to talk about him again a little bit and what the Carolina Panthers are gonna get go for we kind of already had. But to me, that is one of the smarter players in the draft, just in terms of how fast he plays.

His times were a little disappointing at the at the combine. In fact, I'm watching it on the NFL network and it just said plays faster than times. That's the one trait that stood out to me. Always getting in the mix, knocking a ball loose, kind of his nose for the ball a little bit, we'll tackle. You know, he's he's good in the slot. I think he could play free safety because I just think he sees things faster. I think his rage is a little good. Now you're so

good on your analysis. Were good there, We got him, got him? Yeah. I just the fact is his tape was fun for me to watch because when you you see guys compete on bad football teams and it scores out of whack and he's still you know, getting after it, making tackles, trying to get to the ball. He creates turnovers. Yeah, you see a guy that get cover in the slot. Carolina knew what they were doing here, a big, nice pick by them. Looks like the Ravens are now at

the podium at eighty six. You guys ready to get weird. Let me get this out real quick. They took Hayden Hurst first round. Okay, so are they both going to be attached to the formation. Maybe you play Mark Andrews trying a big wide receivers. There's you a mismatch guy. I really, I really like that at Jackson. Go out there with some big bodies that can work down the middle of the field, just and let him loose. That's

a Raven style pick too right there. Now, first Joe Flacco has to throw it all these guys for one year before we can run him out of town. But then Lamar Jackson's got some tight ends to hang out with. For people that I had this guy in the second round, I did too. I think he's a good player. I really do. Yeah, I really do. For people that are not. But I think this we can stop the Max Williams experiment in Baltimore. Yeah, good point. I remember Max Williams.

People are people are asking me, you know what, there's there's ten and eleven picks left before the end of the night. Uh that the Cowboys war room does not have the look of a place that's considering a trade, given that Jerry's been talking to the governor and Will McClay is not in the room, so I guess, and neither's Chris Hall for that matter. I guess anything's possible. But Steven yeah, yeah, well yeah, good point, Stephen Jones. Uh,

this has the feel of a relaxed war room right now. Well, I think it's a war room that's had a heck of a day. No, no, the first three round, but you know, with with two fourth round picks, I think it's fair to wonder if they're going to show something. Sure, it doesn't look like it right now, raves back to back. Oh ye, well, here we go again. We're at the war room. We're looking inside the war room at the Ford Center here at the Star in Frisco. Musting out

the paper. I think Jerry's just showing somebody how it works. Yeah, well the long again, the long sheet of paper that they look at. That is their trade charts right there. So Todd Williams is now moving in there. Todd Williams is the works in the cap and kind of a football operations guy. Really, it does a lot of things here for the Cowboys. Everything does everything. So he's setting

some things up on the phone. Maybe they're having some phone issues right now that they're dealing with because he's over in front of the bank of phones. Jerry Jones was on the phone earlier. Maybe someone calling him and saying congratulations for the Michael Gallup pick. That that happens every once in a while with him. Can we just okay, let's just pull it back. I mean, you love everything that's happened tonight, Jeff, I love everything that's happened tonight.

They literally picked the player that if they let me in the room at fifty and said, who would you pick? I would say Connor Williams, get any one. I would have said, pick Michael Gallup, Stumi Day, No, you're mean Todd Williams. Okay, Now he's writing stuff down and he is he's the cap guy for the Cowboys, and you know they're doing some math over there, and he's he's kind of going through some things again. Him and Adam Pacifica who you can't see off camera, and you see

his hands writing down. Yeah, and he's down the corner there. Those two guys are responsible for the cap. So they're trying to maybe figure some things out here. So let's see if it back that's the case. Uh, let's get back in this thing. We're not done. It seems hard to believe that they're doing anything without Stephen and will Which do you think they're waiting for us to tell

them who the next pick is. Maybe we haven't told him who to p Hey, Well, they're listening there listening, So to various more would be an option that was a visitor that they had that you can project to be a free safety in the NFL that could maybe start anybody else that you would be super interested in. Getting back into this draft for more. That's the guy, that's it. That's that's yeah, Dedrince not Yeah. I would look at the nose tackles as well. Yeah, defensive helps

your defensive line, he helps your linebackers. Yeah, he helps your front seven. So I'm shocked he's still on the board. Four is my only other guy will Tyrol Crosby, But that's a tackle. The Cowboys don't need a tackle at this point. Would you do the other linebacker? Jenard Avery or Josie Jewel? I personally wouldn't but sit and thrown it out there. Wow, both in the fifth Huh, Steven's back in the house. Um, So if you can bind pick one sixteen and pick one thirty seven, that only

gets you to the end of the third round. So you would need more than that. You would need your two fourth round picks and then something else to maybe get into the playground of Wait, wait, how how many how ninety four six picks away? How far could just the two fourths get you? Raiders are now they've made a trade here, The Raiders are at the podium. Oh Dave hey, more power to him. Okay, Oh, I hate to do immediate draft grades and all that, but Oakland's

probably having doesn't doesn't seem great. Well. I think if you do the work of evaluating players and then people they pick guys that you didn't think highly of, I think you have the right to evaluate what you thought of their draft. I mean that's what basically what we're

doing this last three days. If good arden Key shows up, that's a hell of a pick, and it's a gigantic if it's about arn Key at right, tackling Khalil Mackett left left, ascume I guess arn Ket right in and then and then if Kalil Mackett left in, if he motivated, if he's motivated and out of trumble and I think we had this argument Jeff, which you're you're absolutely right to criticize him for showing up out of weight or

overweight and out of practice last year. Dude was a monster in twenty sixteen, Oh for sure, for an absolute monster. I'm on on level with Errol Landry. I think, so if you can coax that out of him, have at it. I just don't trust that that's going to happen based on everything we know about the guy. If you combine pick, we're an eighty seven right now. Actually it's about to be eighty eight with Green Bay. If you combine both fourths and you're fifth, you could get up to about

ninety five. Okay, man, so eight picks away. I Dan, you know We've been doing this for four years now. I'm not a super aggressive drafter, am I. If you told me, I mean, all right, let's just assume that Tarvarius More is their highest rated safety left on the board. Ten guys aren't making this team anyway. I agree. If you told me that, that would get me up to ninety five. New England loves to trade, if that would get me there, and I could just give me a

badass safety to cap this off with. I'm in Cockers at the podium. Okay, two teams. Oran Burks who had Now he was a great combine right. Oran Burks was incredible workout guy. Tester didn't love the tape, but he tested incredibly. So I guess for some you get into the third round and you start picking guys where you're

kind of betting on the athlete. And Burkes had a little bit of a strange path because he played basically a new position every year, and that kind of a testament to what the coaches thought of him, that he could do it. I mean they needed someone to play their their star position. He could do it. Need someone to play free safety. He could do it. They moved him to the Zach Cunningham role after he left after last year, and he played pretty well as a senior.

So I think you like the versatility that Oran Burks offers and again tested off the charts. You like those traits here in the later portion of the third round. Yeah, but I watched him playing The ball tends to go past him. You know, I'm not really sure how aware he is as a player. You know, it'll overrun some things. I thought he lost the ball, you know, a little bit lack of instincts there, and a struggle with some of those angles, the basic drop stuff. The biggest question

I have is does this guy see it? How well? Does he really see it? And and Dane, maybe it's steered to your point, he's having to play a lot of different positions. Maybe that's affecting the way he plays. All right. So now we have the Rams at the podium pick eighty nine. This is their first pick, right, yep. They had to get golf. Oh yeah, and they they gave away a boatload for Marcus Peters too. Cooks. Yeah, I love that pick. I'll tell you what. The Rams

don't pick all draft, and they make that pick. A huge fan of this kid. He wears number sixty eight at TCU. I thought he had some of those Doug Free. I mean you're kind of like, okay, wait, but he's such an athlete at left tackle, he's light footed. You know, he gets the outside, he's got the length, he could keep guys wide. I mean you think, like for a long guy, that he doesn't have some power, but he

does play with some power. He's very similar when you watch Doug Free play early in his career, how athletic he was. This kid is that way. I'll tell you what. I think the Rams got a heck of a guy. They've taken some tackles in this draft and I've been like, ah, but that kid right there, big big fan of him. I really love the way that he's sort of recovered. On tape. You'll see times where guys get into his chest.

He absorbs a punch and he ends up in a place where you're like, oh, but yeah, he sustains it exactly. He's able to fight through that. So I'm a note Boom fan too. I think that's a good pick right there at the end of the third I had a fourth round grade on him because there is a lot of sloppy play on his tape. Lungeing saves it, he doesn't. Yeah, yeah, because he does have the athleticism the make up for it. He's not a sustained player, so there is a mix

of sloppy and successful snaps on his film. But again, you like the resume, you like the traits, and we're talking into the third round. That's what you're drafting. An offensive tackle. Interesting that Tyrell Crosby's still on the board. Unless I missed him somewhere, he's still there. Offensive still on the board. Yeah, nothing against note Boom. I'm just surprised some Jamarco Jones I had rated ahead of note Boom as well, So some good tackle. See, I had

no Boom, Crosby, and then Jones. That was my order. In front across. Oh, I had him in front across. Okay, you'd like I think, I you know, I respect with Dane's the evaluation. I mean there are many a day where he and I sat there and but but I just felt and you brought it up about maybe the sloppy part of it, but I just felt like, though, the guy just such a great athlete. Yes, and then because on the other side, the kid on the other side is a massive Matt Matt Prior is a massive guy.

So they had this big tackle on one side and a really good ballerina on the other side. Of the trio of Tyrell Cross be Harrison, Phillips and Ronnie Harrison. Who are you more surprised to still have available Phillips? Yeah. Crosby at one point in this werent answers all over the place. Yeah, split it up, Yeah, I think um and as you four is another guy that I had rated pretty high. They're back, I mean they're They're all in there, and it's again we're looking at the war

room inside the Ford Center at the start Frisco. There's they've got offensive coaches in there, they've got defensive coaches. I feel like they trying to get back. They're trying to get back. Yeah, they're trying to get back in this thing. They wised up. They wised up to our strategy. Though they know that we're watching who comes into the war room look here this two fourths and a fifth get you to ninety five. I've seen reports on Twitter

that the Patriots are done drafting tonight. Yeah, the Patriots draft at ninety five. I'm in, I'm in their various more? Is there an offensive player? I mean, Scott Lenahans, I'm sorry the Patriots traded that pick. Will McClay is trying to make a point here to the Does he does look animated? Yeah? He is banging that fist, that right

fist on that desk. That counts as a bang the table. Yeah, he's trying one convinced the joke will not get back there picking the fourth round here, you want him, let's go get him. One day in my life, I want to see somebody actually stand up on the table, like we use that expression so often. Will might be doing it here in a second. See who I mean? Is it there? Various more? Is that who they're talking about? A free safety visitor? That's you know, Harrison Phillips is

a really good player available for defensive line? Is really really thin though, David, I mean, I mean that's something you have to think about here. I Harson Phillips as you seems too early to gamble on Mohurst. Oh, Harrison Phillips is the kind of guy that Rod MARINOI loves. Do you think he'd be making a little more noise right now though? Rod's just kind of standing back there letting will handle. And you wonder if maybe some medicals

with Phillips. Uh, I mean he had it, he had torn acl He's a big elbow brace too play, and he missed the entire two and fifteen season with a torn a clum. Maybe that's playing into that why he's still available. Here. Let me ask you this, Could they be thinking about Hurst here? Maybe here's the Falcons. They're at the podium, Yeah, in this room to the Atlanta Falcons. What does that add to their draft? All? The Atlanta Falcons now have Ridley Isaiah Oliver the corner and Dedrin

senat the defensive tackle. Take it away. We all like don Terry Poe just left free agency. So there you go. That fills a hole that's next to Grady Jackson right there. But our Grady Jared excuse me, Yeah, oh my gosh, I love this kid again. We talked about his ability to attack the gap and he when he played head up, you would see him drive the center back into the quarterback. Just a hard, hard guy to block there. You know that one gap he gets in it, he's up the field.

He could get sideways and they turned back straight. He's a hard guy to move. All right. The Saints are on the clock at number ninety one. We'll be right back with it. You are listening twenty let's just go to the podium, y'all can't keep us sorry. I love it. Roman Harper one of my favorite football players ever. Harry went gray when he was like twenty four years old. I love Treik Jon Smith. I think that's a great pick for the Saints to put with Michael Thomas and

Drew Brees. But I also want to point out we have at ativity in the Cowboys war room where Jerry Jones is on the phone. Rod Marinelli just got a pat on the back on his way out of the room. I don't know if they're coming back up in this draft, or if Jerry's on the phone with a player or what's going on, but we got action in the Cowboys war room for sure. A lot of smiles, a lot of smiles. Jerry's still on the phone, everybody. Something is

happening in the Cowboys war room. Maybe they're coming back into this round and they've already picked somebody. Whatever it is, there are people excited about it in the war room right now, sort of tangentially related. I mean, I know he's not a Dallas Cowboy anymore, but we talk about why is Dez Bryant not signing anywhere? Teams want to see what happens in the draft. Saints just draft Trey Kuan Smith. Seems like it would put a dent in the thought that Dez Bryant winds up in New Orleans

sometime later. All right, let's take a quick break here. When we come back, we'll see what's happening with the Dallas Cowboys war room because we got action. it before we went to break. There was some activity in the Cowboy war room. They look like they're very calm right now. Don't see anybody one. It kind of chilled out a little bit. Maybe, yeah, maybe they couldn't make the deal. Maybe they're trying to go and just couldn't go anybody to go with them. So maybe take that back, Chris Halls, now jump back on the phone. Stealers were at the podium. Let's see him make a

pick exorcly Yeah, Dane, what does mean? I'm not a big fan of the player's soft the fifth and he's a soft player, and he's very young. He's just not a natural at this football thing. And that's a problem, um, especially when you talk about a trenches guy. Tyrell Crosby's still on the board. We gotta find out about an injury. Something must be going on. I'll find that out, Core four. It doesn't go before Tyrell Crosby picking foot in real life.

This guy's this guy's an offensive tackle. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember we were hearing about him back when, uh was it Corey Davis, Right, We're you're hearing about the tackle prospect that was going to come out. But then watching the tape, I was like, Okay, it's he moves really well. The body control, the flexibility, the feat it's but there's no power to his game. There's no nasty to his game. He's going to get eaten up until that changes. And that's kind of a hard thing to change.

Some guys just don't have it in him. I'm not sure he does, and so I would not take a chance on that guy until later on the draft. Steelers. It's a high upside pick. You're really taking a risk though here and there. I'm not a really natural football player. That's that's the big prom Dane's absolutely right about him. I'm not saying that that the ESPN is infallible by any means. He's not even on their list of best remaining offensive tackles right now, it looks like the Jaguars

pick is in we'll see who. In fact, the Jaguars pick here at a at ninety three. It's like sixth on my remaining tackles. He's a person, he's a human being, Dave, he's a person, he's a guy. He's there. Jaguars will take a good player, right, surely they've been doing a good job. I'm here lately and the Jaguars are at the podium. They picked the fan. It looks like this. I don't know. Okay, how much different when they lose all the weight? Yeah, hubo, poor guy. My dad has

six gus. It's a lot of work. Yeah, close, There we go, There we go and six girls and a boy. Two boys. Oh okay, okay, I mean you sounded very weird, like just six girls, but you're yeah, okay, okay. Jacksonville is entering, like I mean, well, it's ironic because Pittsburgh just picks the guy that y'all don't like. But like, it just seems like they just find their way to great players who shouldn't still be around. A second round guy on my board, d Jhark. We were talking about

him going in the top fifty. Ronnie Harrison we were talking about in the top fifty. They got him at sixty two and ninety three. Job security for a Barry Church chip in the air now right, Yeah, we're telling things out there. Yeah, well, who's their other safety? Great question, Dave, Well again, maybe we just maybe we just answered that question. Question. Don't don't try to fire my guy, Barry. I love him. I'll check the depth chart for you. I got a

Jaguars depth chart. That's not a problem. We're all over it now on the clock. After Jacksonville, we are running up on the end of the round. Here you've got Tampa Bay, San Francisco, Buffalo, Arizona, Houston, Denver, Kansas City and out of there. Yeah and see. And now we got to remember too, this is when the first time we're starting to see the compensatory picks come into play.

And let's remember compensatory picks can be traded. So picks ninety seven through one hundred have the ability to be traded. They're owned by Arizona, Houston, Denver, and Cincinnati. So if you still want to play a game in this round, the committatory picks are available. All right, We now go to secret audio of the greatest Cowboys draft pick of all time, Number eighty one in the draft, the third round pick Michael Gallup, Colorado statewide receiver, the newest Dallas

Cowboy and the greatest pick of all time. Here's when he found out. Hello, Michael, somebody wants to talk to you, Michael Gallup. This is Michael Gallop. This is the governor of Texas and I'm here. I'm here with Jerry Jones, and we are proud to say you are a Dallas Cowboy that I appreciate. I appreciate it. Of course, Jerry Jones wants to talk to you, Michael, Michael, Jerry Jones.

I'm doing great. And that was our governor of Texas that just got on the phone and told you sitting right here with me, and he's gonna be to you now, Dallas couple. You'll probably very much, Yes, sir, Well, he's a great governor. And yeah, I'm in here and let's win some ball games. Okay, congratulating. Listen, here here's our head coach, Jason Garrett. Michael. Thank congratulations, man, thank you, thank you. You got the governor of Texas calling you.

You got mister Jerry Jones calling you so special deal man. Congratulations, you're ready to work. I'm always ready, always think. I know you are. I know you are. That's the big reason why we picked You're excited to get you get after a lot of noise back there. That's a good sign. Congrats. I'm gonna hand the phone to Scotland. I had the offensive core. Alright, alright, what are you going man? Thank you very much, Michael, We're going. Hey, congrats man, I'm

color I know you will. Hey, We'll see you in a few weeks, I guess. And then just get the work, buddy. It's time to go right on. Congrats, I know exciting time, can you. Hey, someone wants to talk to you. Yeah, Hello, Michael, I'm the governor, like not. Hi, this is the Californist. Yeah, Hi, this is a someone someone would like to talk. Are hanging up the phone because I'm not believing him? All right?

Alex Kappa by Humbolt State Senior Bowl Guy is headed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at number ninety four and at number ninety five. We will have the forty nine ers on the clock. As we get towards the end of day two of the NFL draft forty nine ers on the clock, five picks after them, and then the round is over. In the war room camera no longer

shows action. As a reminder, ninety five was the place the Cowboys could get to by packaging both of their fourth round picks tomorrow and their fifth round picks, and ninety five was the place they would they would land and would be picking if they would have pulled off

a trade. The war room is gone now, so and what do we say that, you know, with Will McClay kind of being a little demonstraated, Yeah, with his hands, say pretty much, if we don't go up here to get our guy, he's not gonna be available for us tomorrow. So Will McClay fell strong about that. And we'll see here in the next few picks. If it was one of the targets, I think, based on the fact the cameras covered it was a guy we know they like, they didn't trade up to get him, it means he's

probably going here and I think we can pick it. Yeah, I don't. To me though, maybe with the fact that they've shut things down, and again this is just speculative, but maybe they didn't get anybody to bite on what they were trying to sell, trying and you know, and and we'll see about you know, Jerry Jones, and you know, he'll probably talk about, hey, we tried to move up. And then you got some teams that are just you know, they're looking at the end. It's the San Francisco forty

nine ers now with a selection. This is from the New England Patriots at the pub. Oh my gosh. So that's who the cowboys probably wanted to get back in the round for. They couldn't get it done, and that's why the war room is now covered up and shut down because they had nothing left to do today. And these teams know what other teams want. They know to various more and how many visits he went on. They know he was a top thirty guy for Dallas because he wasn't a combined guy, right, so he got invited

on a lot of visits. So the forty nine ers know that. And there's probably a good chance we all know we're speculating. I'll be interested to see what New England got for this pick. You know, was it just too much? Kat tried to set it up to where you know, what was it? Kat? It was two fourth and a fifth, two fourths and the fifth. So they were trying to move three picks to New England. Kati told Francisco, I sue San Francisco, but New England was

they didn't want to pick anymore. Right, they were done, they were off it. So here's such Various More. This could have been one of the Garoppolo picks given that it's San Francisco. Though, yeah, I'm not completely sure, but yeah, New England has been They've been sitting out for a while now. So there he goes the safety that you wanted.

That's that's the fascination of the draft because if if John Lynch decides that he likes what the cowboys are selling, Various More might be a cowboy right now, and then you will see what it becomes of his career. I mean, if the Various More goes on to be a pro bowler for the forty nine ers, that'll be a fun thing to reminisce about in future draft cycles. You guys, okay with Xavier Woods at free safety, I am I like, I didn't too. I didn't think to Various Moore was

going to come in and take the job. So well, I'm interested in that player, and I'd like to have him on the roster. I didn't want that pick because I think Xavier Woods would keep that job. But here we have the Bills selection at the podium. Fine again, this is pick ninety six, just four more picks left in the third round. Here we go. That makes lost sense. He just seems like a Kyle Williams yeah type of guy. Yeah, I mean that. That makes a lot of sense there

for the Bills. Excellent value here at nine six overall. Yeah, that's gonna work out just fine for them. That's good value. You get Harrison Phillips going to the Buffalo Bills. And now in this round we are down to four picks remaining in the third round. It doesn't look like the Cowboys are gonna be involved. We're gonna get an Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs. Final four picks

of day two. I want to pick back up on where we were before that pick, which is talking about the safeties, which yeah, I mean, hey, we talked about Earl Thomas forever to various more Tracy Walker. Just throw in Ronnie Harrison and Jesse Bates if you want to, but I feel like all of the vast majority of the guys that are gonna give us starting job or run for its money don't look like options anymore. Which it's okay, I think they need a body in the room for sure. It's well, they have to have a

body in the room. But you know, and I've been saying all spring, I don't mean that as a knock on Xavier Woods, but it's it's a hell of a vote of confidence from the cowboys that they are not putting big resources into trying to love our guys. They love our guys clearly they do, which I think there's two ways you can look at that. It's it's a hell of a vote of confidence, and it says a lot about what they think about the guy Showers. Uh yeah,

Shamille Showers is still hanging around. That says a lot about what we do in this room and identifying players. I don't know. I on the flip side of that, I just I don't know. Hope Hope seems like a bad strategy sometimes so hoping that he's going to develop into what you want him to be. That's I mean, obviously you hope for the best for all your players, but as it stands right now, there's not a great backup option if that does not work Byron Jones. Yeah, well,

Jeth he's your free safety this year. You need to last I checked. We Yeah, but Cavon Frasier, you need, we need. There's no doubt they need a body. There no doubt. Cavon Frasier and Xavier Woods have four starts between the two of them combined, and I think all four of those are Xavier Woods, and three of the four came at slot corner and not safety. So you're

basically talking about no career starts. If they were gonna put faith in a young player on the roster who doesn't have a lot of experience, would you pick anyone else? Xavier Woods is high on that list. You're absolutely right. So as it stands right now, that seems like the plan for twenty eighteen. Do you take Brian, What do you make of the depth at safety and what they might be doing this year as it sits now? Yeah?

I was, you know, you wanted to varies more. I did, and you know, a matter of fact, you know on our mock draft we did for Dallas Cowboys dot Com, I picked him in the second round. And I know that's probably rich for a lot of people, but I felt like that they were gonna flip the safety and the cot and the receiver. You know, I was trying

to kind of think about the depth. And I guarantee you when we go out with these guys and kind of talk at the end of the day here that they were trying to get back into scene to grab him. They probably felt like that debt more and and you know, hey, this is why the whole thing with but the guy in Seattle, I mean that stayed alive. You know, everybody, it's the same. It's it's something that we've talked about this. How much do you really trust Xavier Woods. I mean,

we we like Xavier Woods. I think Xavier Woods needs to tackle a little bit better, and you know he'll improve. But you saw some good things with him in coverage, and I'm you know, I'm okay, but I would have liked to have seen him get somebody like, you know, somebody to pair with him. And Jeff Heath would be great as he is, but you know, Jeff Heath to me, let him be a core special teams guy. Let him

be that guy. But you know you're probably gonna see him and Woods are going to be the stars, unless you know, Cavon Frazier steps up and does something. Would you give up next year's too for Earl Thomas? I mean that's still a possibility, right, we don't have to kill it, right, would Well? I think Seattle wants to pick in this draft. It isn't I think that the reason Seattle would want to even do that is to pick it this year. Yeah, I think. I mean they're

they're a retooling team. I don't want to say every building. Oh yeah, I mean, if I had to guess, Seattle has every expectation of making the playoffs this year when you have a quarterback like that. So I don't know, man, I don't. I think it's it's hard to imagine the Earl Thomas thing coming to Fruition now when you're talking about they just spent all three of their most valuable picks in this draft. I guess, any I mean, anything's possible. I didn't think I was gonna wake up and hear

that Jason Witten was retiring this morning. So yeah, it's been quite a day. It has been long. That feels like about three years ago, so any anything's possible, but I don't see it. And so, like I said, I would have liked to see the Cowboys put a little more resources into safety. But it's hard for me to complain when I look at the rest of the draft, because you look at Leyton Vanderesh, you feel your biggest

need uh. Connor Williams, I think you get a steal there, and Michael Gallup I think is a steal at a position of needs. So yeah, you could say they need a safety, but who are you getting rid of? Because those are three pretty good picks in my opinion, And it looks like the team agreed with you, Brian, and they tried to go get the guy. Yeah, couldn't get it done. So the Cardinals are now at the podium for pick ninety seven, Universe California. First word that one

was what? Oh? That was how he enounced pit Mason Cole the center from Michigan, give us the pick number. But that's Mason Cole, the offensive lineman from Michigan. What do we think about that? Dane uh was forced to play loft how for the Wolverines was really out of position there? Much better inside player. I was kind of soured at him after the senior boat because he struggled during practice. One on ones, guys like U it was a shepherd, a few other ones just ate him up consistently.

He had a tough time, so that really soured my opinion of him. But he had a really good career. One of the first Michigan players offensive linemen to start as a true freshman. There's a lot to like about the player as an inside player, center guard. Yeah. I kind of felt like though that he was one of those guys you initially watched and then it was him in Price and then it's all of a sudden, Okay, you gotta watch Rag now, and you gotta watch Daniels,

and then you got a c. Quisenberry from UCLA. There were just guys that were like, Okay, he's better, he's better, he's better. I think again, you go back. You watched the center tape. Uh, he had an assess Danes right, he had to play left tackle and didn't think he was great at doing that, And I didn't think he was really great at at well as at the at the center spot. So yeah, all right. George Nacan George Jordan Nacan, Central Florida tight end going to Houston be

my lowest graded player to be drafted so far. I had a sixth round grade on him. Older guy played a few years in the Texas Rangers Might League Baseball system. Well. The fun part here, though, is when we start looking at the Cowboys tomorrow. I know we lost a safety that we really liked. But if you're the Cowboys and you're thinking tight end less, I've missed something, Dane, your guy Ian Thomas is still on the ball. Yeah, And on top of that, we've still got nose tackles we

like on the board too. Well, Fatakasi? Is still there anybody else that you like that early? When you're talking about the fourth round the nose tackles, maybe Tim Settle in the fourth. Yeah, that's when you start talking about him. My orders fought Acasi and I had him in the fourth, and then Ford and Settle in the fifth. I keep saying Ford's gonna get picked by the Bengals. Yeah, at the at the I know the workout they did the

same thing they drafted Jefferson. This is a coach scout driven department, and I bet you they draft Puna four. He had a great workout with the since a thing at Austin. Chaquem Griffin, Katie still on the board. We still got Chakeem Griffin. I'll see it one sixteen. Chaquim just hanging around. You still got receivers. I don't know if Stephen Jones was serious when he told us I might take two of them. But Equanimius Saint Brown is still on the board. Dave Shawn Hamilton is still on

the board. Derese Fountain, we talked about this team maybe doubling up a linebacker. Jewels still there, Griffin is there? Avery. Since those are guys, I've got yeah, edge guys. Okaronquo is still on the board. H Leon Jacobs. I don't know if I'm alone in my Leon Jacob's love. Jacobs is not badass. Yeah, we'll see. Tomorrow's the day of the Scouts. We gotta here we go. Still Broncos coming up. Yeah, Broncos at the podium at ninety nine. Yeah. Ago, Now he was a Senior Bowl or a Shrine Game guy.

Senior Bowl. He was a Senior Bowl guy. Week had a good week there and that surely helped him out. Tell us about ye item six uh and always seemed to be within arm's length of the receiver. Uh. He didn't run as as I expected. He only have four or five two. But he's one of the better press guys in this draft. Looks fluid, uh, staying attached the receiver up and down the field. I'm a fan it's player.

I think this is a little surprise. He went ahead of like an Anthony Averitt, who's my top on the board. But uh uh he was the next guy to go, and I had a third round grade on him. Yeah, Holton Hill was a guy like I mean, we know about the we know about the off field problems with Holton Hill. But Dane's right Averitt, And Harris is another guy that I kind of liked there as well. Ahead of him at on my board. Yeah, who's Harris? Devin Harris,

David former Maverick great Devin Harris. Say my board, I've been talking for seven hours. Check notes, check my notes, figure out who Harris is. I don't have a Harry player in there. Ut. I'm sorry, Yeah I could. I thinking Devin Dante. I couldn't get his first name right, but yeah, Davante Harris from Illinois State. Ye got Yeah, We've got one pick left in the third round of the NFL drafted is the Kansas City Chiefs. They're on

the clock pick number one hundred overall. Before this round is over and we get ready for tomorrow where the Dallas Cowboys still have a bunch of picks. Could do something round Yeah, gffin, this is I think, Dane, is this the spot where you had Okay, this is this is now? Yeah, Kansas City's got this pick. But didn't you have Kansas City at eighty six? Yeah? Picking picking Griffin going yeah, yeah, they need some linebacker help. Uh. I don't know if they'd do it here, but it

would make some sense. They they've gone defensive line with their two picks so far with Speaks and Naughty. Need more defensive help. Could be in the secondary, could be a linebacker. They need some help at guards center. You dona leave Chakeem Griffin in the green room another day. I don't think you can pick that way, he said. I don't think you can be the last team picking Chaquem Griffin said this week he was like, I'll hang out as long as it takes. I'm just freaking happy

to be here. You can pick that way because he's the best player on the board can't pick that way. Listen, guys, no matter what he's in the green room, we gotta take him. Hey. I'm not saying teams have to listen, but you're crazy if you don't think NFL of fish have those conversations and teams like, hey, yeah, do you think that they're texting Kansas City. There have been several players that have been drafted his favors in this in

the NFL draft the last ten years. Awful. It's kind of sickening at the end of the third No, not this, Okay, we're talking German receiver. Yeah, yes, Minnesota? Is that it? Morits? Yeah? What have you heard since that day? I don't know, but I was told that dude could play. They sure got a Super Bowl pretty quickly. He dominated the German league. That was the thing, right, Didiver draft him in Minnesota? Yeah? It was a made for TV thing. I'm surprised he

didn't make it. You know, I thought that guy had a lot I read people one workout. I read somebody before the draft saying he had an incredible workout, and I thought he had a bright future. So we wait on pick number one hundred from the Kansas City Chiefs I mean, if they go offensive line, is this kind

of like I mean Madison Maddi Rudolph's brother looking for twins? Yeah, Madison, I think that's if you're going offensive line, right, Musby got wrong with Crosby is better than one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight at least eight offensive linemen. I had Madison Crosby both in the third round. So take your pick there, all right. The Chiefs selection is linebacker man. He should be a decent cover guy, right, Daniels had more what

he is. He's almost a safety, you know that, a guy that you want that overhang linebacker spot, come down play the strong safety role. Uh. Not a great take on player's little undersized you know, six little shy of six one two and twenty five pounds. Really good athlete, and I think he'd be a matchup guy when you talk about covering backs out of the backfield or h backs tight ends, but more of a mix and match guy. I don't know if he's gonna be an every down player.

I'm gonna selfishly I'm sorry. Just you got to brag about Michael Gallop for twenty minutes. Yeah, it was great. I'm not done. I think Dorian O'Daniel, I think is the either the fourth or the fifth. Tell me more guy that's been drafted so far. I'm I'm I'm excited about that. Okay, So the Day two of the NFL Draft is in the books. Here on one oh five three the fan dot Com Dallas Cowboys dot Com love

hanging out with you, gentlemen. We'll go around room real quick and have some quick wrap up thoughts on this day before we get out of here, and then we'll look forward to tomorrow when the Cowboys will be on the clock and it'll be presented by you. Blow huh yeah, absolutely, yeah, yeah yeah. Quick takeaways. I'll start Michael Gallup is the greatest pick and the history of this organization at number eighty one, Connor Williams at fifty was the perfect pick,

and Layton vander esh at nineteen made sense. You just covered it. What I'll do is I'll take a look

at next tomorrow. The top players available on my board Equamenia Saint Brown wide receiver and utter Dame Tyrell Crosby tackle of Oregon or coron Quo the player out of Oklahoma, Josie Jewel linebacker Iowa, Josh sweat edge defender Florida State, Ian Thomas, Indiana tight end, DeShawn Hand defensive lineman Alabama, Anthony Averett corner Alabama, Duke Edgia four edge player Wake Forest, and one more Niem Hines running back and see State.

That could be a name we're talking about tomorrow if he makes it to the Cowboys pick in the fourth. I think just did a great job today. They were very patient. Again at the end, they probably tried to go up and grabbed that safety but just could not make that work. But I like the way they played with some patients today. I think tomorrow we always talk about this. It's the day of the scout. It's rounds four through seven. Dane gave you a lot of great

names on that board. You'll be interesting to the cow with some picks. They've got some ammunition to move around here a little bit and try and grab some more guys and help their football team. But I think the first two days have been a really good start for them. I would like to say, first of all, they patched up the offensive line, which is something I wanted them to commit to. Whether it was round one, round two, round three, we kind of learned not to judge drafts

based on around you. You grated on the whole thing, but getting Connor Williams, getting lucky enough to get Connor Williams and there, and that's how this team is gonna win, and then getting luckier at eighty one, and then getting luckier with Michael Gallup at eighty one, but that this team wins not through Michael Gallup as much as ze Zeke. And that's what they call is better than Zeke. Wow, you're an illusional right now. I went over the line

that's called the Drafters High. Yeah, we've been on for a long time. I went over the line. The Cowboys definitely aren't going to agree with me. And I don't expect any of y'all two because it betrays like the very thought of the board, like don't window dress your board, don't betray your rankings and all that. And I'm not saying that's what they did, but me personally, like I'm just learning to look at especially the first two days, it's like a jigsaw puzzle. It goes back to the

conversation we had back on Wednesday night. Maybe Layton Vanderesh wasn't the best guy that you could have taken on Thursday night. But if I tell you that it fits and you look at the you know, look at the rest of the board, and you get an underrated player, very underrated player at eighty one. If you look at that as a collective value, that's a net positive, I think in anybody's mind. And so again to Kat's point, you can't judge the nineteenth pick until you see what

comes after them. Even if Laton Vanderesh was a reach, you got bargains with your other two picks, and at the end of the day, it all makes a lot of sense. I think, I think on it so far. All right, that'll do it for us from here, and we will see you guys tomorrow as we have one two is it four more rounds? Yeah, we got four more rounds and drafting to do, and you'll have us

all here with you for every single pick. You've been listening to the twenty eighteen NFL Draft on Dallas Cowboys dot Com and one oh five three the fan dot Com
