Back in 2014 I had a story to tell. I could feel it rumbling around inside me like I usually do, but something was different about it. It wasn’t showing up in my mind’s eye as a movie. It was a book! My inner novelist had woken up and was demanding attention.
In that book, an unexpected character showed up, as often happens when I’m writing. But he wasn’t a minor character as I thought he’d be. He was the embodiment of romantic love between two middle-aged men. Crazy, intense, “Can’t stop thinking about you!” and “I’d do anything for you!” passionate, beautiful love.
