We spoke this morning about Elon Musk's interesting move to take over twitter and it appears that he is now going to make that move.

We spoke this morning about Elon Musk's interesting move to take over twitter and it appears that he is now going to make that move.
Tonight we spoke about Netflix and the use of password sharing. Now, Netflix says that they are planning to slow down password sharing and keep you from sharing with just anybody.
Today, I talk about black owned businesses and ways we need to support them.
When @charriselane spoke up against the disturbing imagery being promoted of #blackwomen in music, racist media went on the attack. But as my therapist/professor wife, @coachingwithdralicia explained on our podcast, the #Blackwoman has always been promoted in the mammy and jezebel stereotypes. Nobody speaks against #Lizzo 's right to be loved as an obese woman, but to promote obesity as "body positivity" is to literally promote death in the black community. In fact, of the top 10 causes of DEATH...
Today, I speak with Taaqiy Grant, the creator of the new film Hapi, which shows that the roots of modern economics started in ancient Africa.
No, Netflix stock isn’t dead. Yes, the company took a hit. Yes, the number of subscribers dropped for the first time in a decade. But before you write Netflix off for dead, consider these factors: First, Netflix's negative subscriber numbers is largely driven by the fact that the company chose to pull out of Russia. This is, in my view, another reason why companies may want to reconsider getting involved in politics. Secondly, if you had invested $1,000 in #Netflix stock the last time the compan...
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith angered their fans by releasing a preview of the Red Table Talk without even mentioning the Oscars Slap. I speak on this podcast not just about this incident, but also the high cost of divorce and what it would look like for this economic powerhouse to part ways. There are also thoughts I had about the importance of relationship maintenance in your wealth building journey and how our family structure plays a big role in our economic outcomes. You can watch this ...
I love the game #CallOfDuty and play it with a bunch of my equally immature 50 year old friends. While we grew up seeing videogames as child's play, I saw it as a very interesting on-ramp to the #metaverse , where trillions in commerce will be happening over the next 20 years. Call of Duty is not a tiny thing. The company that owns Call of Duty, Activision, is currently being acquired by #Microsoft for a whopping $68 billion dollars. Given the degree to which they are marketing Snoop's involveme...

Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter completely - should he? According to Fox Business: Tesla CEO Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter in a deal worth more than $43 billion and take the social media company private. Musk’s best and final offer was to pay $54.20 per share for 100% of Twitter, and said that if his offer was not accepted he’d have to reconsider his position as a shareholder, according to an SEC filing.
Today in the Dr Boyce Book Club, we discuss how the US Constituion has rarely presented itself as a friend to black people who are seeking wealth vs symbolism in a fundamentally racist society. Close examination will reveal that black wealth has barely budged since we were freed from slavery. This isn't going to change until we understand the difference between real economic progress vs simply receiving more opportunities for black people to work for white people. I discuss the Constitution's ro...
Today I speak with Dr Randall Pinkett, CEO of BCT Partners and Dr Jeffrey Robinson, the Prudential Chair of Business Management at Rutgers University. Today, I spoke about Elon Musk and his massive aquisition in Twitter, as well as his reasons for wanting to own the company. I also spoke about what's happening in the stock market right now. I found a stock I really love and plan to add to my portfolio, and I share it during the video. Additionally, you should be aware that there are a limited supply of Financial Workbooks for children back in stock. If you want your children to be prepared for their economic future, feel free to take a look by...
Chris Rock's reaction to the Will Smith incident explains exactly why he will be richer and Smith is going to be poorer. It's about the discipline necessary to build true wealth.
The Will and Jada saga gets worse. I discuss this issue with my wife, Dr Alicia Watkins

I was watching the Tiger Woods documentary on Netflix and realized that it reminds me of the villification of the black father in America and how this has significantly harmed black wealth.

The New York Post is reporting about a $6 million dollar house reportedly purchased by the leaders of Black Lives Matter. This only adds to the long list of accusations that they are doing strange things with the money.
I was thinking about Russell Wilson, Ciara and Future and had a few thoughts.
I read a really strange article in the New York Post about why black women should marry white men and I wanted to address it.
Today I read an article in the New York Times about the brand damage that Will smith and Jada Pinkett Smith may endure as a result of "the slap" that occurred against Chris Rock at the Oscars. According to The New York Times, Will Smith's lighter persona was called "Uncle Fluffy," where he made people laugh as a means of survival. Then there was "the general," another side of Will smith that confused those who are accustomed to seeing him friendly and compromising.
I spent an hour reading comments about Will Smith on his Youtube channel and what I saw was astonishing.
Today on my podcast, I spoke about a few factors that impact the wealth building journey of black people in America and beyond. The first thing on my mind is that the stock market just had its worst quarter since 2020 with many major tech companies taking a severe nosedive. Making matters worse is that inflation is at its highest level in the last 40 years. Supply chain issues impacting inflation are only made worse by the war in Ukraine. I then thought about the black wealth building experience...
Today I spoke about the fact that most economic indicators seem to imply that a recession is around the corner.
Turns out that Chris Rock is selling more tickets than ever after the Oscars incident with Will Smith. According to Variety, Chris Rock's tour ticket prices have gone up 800% since "the slap," and there are more opportunities sure to follow. As a finance professor, this news led me down a rabbit hole of thoughts regarding what it means for a black man to be a "boss" vs one who is beholden to the rules of the establishment. After breaking down all of this with simple logic, I've concluded that bo...
I understand the reasons that Chris Rock and Will Smith apologized for the Oscars slapping incident, but I don't like it. I personally believe that both of these men could have stood their ground and everything would be fine. The interesting act of black men consistently apologizing for nearly everything is one of those things that reminds me of the white supremacy that exists in America.
