We gave callers a chance to win tickets to the Pixies and Modest Mouse, right after discussing the two wild NFC divisional round games. Do you feel better about the Cowboys?

Transcript

This is on ninety seven to one, The Freak in one hour. Let's get to the core of this. Cowboys beef ceedee Lamb's mom taking shots at Dak on Facebook because older you are using Facebook and then on Twitter or x formerly known as Twitter. They know Dak and Micah's brothers each with things to

say. Tad Prescott, Tarrence Parsons in the news to the point that Micah had to go and apologize that at nine and more, including a wild audio clip of Jason Garrett screaming like Jacob Silge and then something else involving money. The big story today, I think the Matchwicks is the message. Just looked on the TV behind you, Mike, NBC five out at the Cotton Bowl with a live shot. Wet, pretty wet out there. Take a take your blankie if you're going out to Fair Park to the Cotton Bowl. Oh,

they got Paige Ellenburger on the scene. Now they got now on Fox four. Yeah, they're all there, they're all here. Uh. Mess he's in town and I surprised to us. In the second segment, most important thing, Lionel Messi actually called in. He was listening. He was looking for a supermarket and Danny helped him. Yeah, advised him to visit Thomas thumb. He said he might call back later, so he may call us back at checking on NP teenish. Then I'm thirty. Maybe we're about

to do where's your mind? For some concert tickets? In a second? Quickly, quick thoughts on the two NFC games. Because the Ravens smoked the Texans. There's not much we need to say about that because that's a great season for the Texans, but I Ravens had to smoke him late, like it was. Yeah, it tied half. It was a good game, Yeah it was half next to a punt return. Texans didn't score a touchdown an offensive touchdown, you know, So yeah, I don't know. I

thought they were hanging in pretty good. But yeah, that Packers Niners game was fun to watch, and I imagine you, as Packer boy, were stressed the hell out. But yeah, boy, they did sure look like that blanking team for a while, and they gave forty nine ers trouble. To beat San Francisco, you almost have to play perfect. And that's why I think San Francisco is just better than everyone, at least in the NFC. Because the Packers had two interceptions hit them in the hands and including Savage

who had to pick six against the Cowboys last week. And then the thing I can't handle the most is Anders Carlson, the Packers rookie kicker, brother of Daniel Carlson. I mean, he missed like seven extra points this year, and we're all saying it as we're watching the game as the Packers tried to kick a field goal to go up by seven, and we know he's gonna miss this. We have to go for it here, We're just saying

it, and they misses it wide left. I mean they even had an Aaron Rodgers I'm sorry, Aaron Andrews report that Matt Lafleur, the Packers had coach, had basically said whenever he goes out there to a kick, I just pray. But it's the whole thing where it's like, well, he's a rookie kicker, and we spent a draft pick on him, so we have to stick with him, And I'm like, you don't. You don't have to, so maybe he'll be better, you know, as he moves

on in his career. But geez, was there any feel a little better thing? I mean, the Packers look like they belong. They look salty, they look tough, they look like a you know, a fair competitor for the forty nine ers in San Francisco they all played him, And yeah, exactly, so does that you know, I don't make you feel any better, like you got whipped, but you got whipped by a better team. I don't feel better. I mean because that game was weird to the

Packers. They had to settle for a field goal in the first drive, but it was another eight minute drive to start the game, and you're like, okay, well, San Francisco are they gonna And San Francisco fought back immediately and the Cowboys didn't. And that's where I come back to. It's just how quickly it got out of hand and how that can't ever happen in the playoffs if you want to be taken seriously. So I don't feel better about it, but maybe you do. Go maybe we overlooked him a little

bit. I mean, the do the Cowboys beat the Rams? Straight up? If because they were this close to playing the Rams, who knows? Who knows who the Cowboys could beat? They are exactly, there's no way to know. We're too many questions, did you like stop breathing for a few seconds when Jordi Love funk that ball across field on a wild ass decision to end the game for them? You know, were you thinking what are

you doing? I was you start feeling things because when the forty nine ers just march down the field easily because you know, and to the Packers defense did the one thing you can't do either let them score early, blitz, don't play like prevent let them and eat up all the clock. But then you see the rain just start to pour on the Packers at ball, and you're like, this didn't time out great, not at all, So I

was expecting trouble. It's it's cool experience, dude. It's cool for him that he he has the sweet bird of youth blessing his shoulder, because if that had been Dak, yeah, he would have been absolutely roasted. But after that, it's like, man, great job kid, you'd yeah, you know, we're supposed nobody expected that, supposed to be here. Expectations. It's amazing how how expectations just shift the value. You know, a couple throws that were incredible and then a couple that were really bad, Like

that miscrossed like like like two awful throws. But I guess that's just what you have to expect, right Rock Party had, Yeah, a ton of bad throws. I'm sitting there going, if it's raining, they can get meat next week. And then the Lions beat the Bucks at home thirty one to twenty three. Baker threw a bad interception at the end. Is the Bucks are gonna have to go ninety yards in two minutes. But you know, another situation of a team that was supposed to be there. And then

the Lions. But I'd take the Cowboys over the Lions. They're going to have a matchup, I really would. I think the Cowboys go beat them. I think I forgot to look at the box score. But if you told me that Mike Evans had three hundred receiving yards, I'd believe you. It felt like he was catching every past. H God, it's so fun to see the bake sale. You know, it's interesting to retrench himself.

Yeah. Yeah. And then golf like Hay's turned into steady hand of all quarterbacks who knew which you know he's gonna avoid a cold weather game which he can't handle. He sucks in the cold weather. They're gonna get nice temps I think in San Francisco next Sunday, so he'll have an outdoor game where you can't blame it on the weather or anything like that. They got a chance. Did you see opening lines six? Did you see I have three? I'm looking at him? So three? Is it? Three? The

Lions at forty nine ers? Let's go six and a half forty nine ers six and a half seven seven? Yeah, opened at seven, six and a half in a couple places, but pretty much minus seven forty nine ers favored Ravens at home, Kansas City Chiefs coming to town? Are the Chiefs favored in this No, it's got to be Ravens by what the bill to

half? Three and a half? Three and a half? Wow? Yeah, Devo, I'll take you know, Devo not playing for San Francisco could knock that down to six and a half, but he might play so by Rock Party looked like the worst quarterback of this round outside of CJ. Stroud. He made a couple of really good throws too, and he always does. He always makes enough good throws to make you go damn it. He was the last pick in the draft. That's ma golf. It's great to

see. Like, personally, I think it's really cool that golf is doing this, especially when him and Sean McVay got into it and he shipped him off like. Golf was the number one pick in the re for a reason. He was good, like and Baker was the number one pick for Reaso because he was good. And you go and get settled and have good weapons, things are good for you. So I don't know why it can't work here. I don't know. I'm tired of trying to figure it out.

There's that final four is set. Do you use Morning News twenty minutes? That's right, we're going to talk about the natural disaster that no one talks about. WHOA. Now, we're going to give the winner of this segment a pair of tickets to see Modest Mouse and the Pixies on June twenty seventh at Twiota Music Factory. And the segment we are calling where is Your Mind? It's a beautiful piano version. Don't worry of the classic song. Well,

I'm not gonna hear Frank Black screaming where is my Mind? Uh yeah, it's just kind of open phones. It's an opportunity for our listeners who just join us, you know, and tell us where is their mind? We like to be joined, we do. It could go in any direction. A lot of radio stations used to take phone calls and now they don't at all. Yeah, you know a different than that. You want to

know something, potential caller. Some other radio stations kind of make fun of you and say they suck and we're not going to put them on the air. Not us. We're inclusive. We're inclusive. People absolutely to join us and tell us where is your mind? Especially on days that we didn't really prepare. We had no much. We had an open segment. Yeah, don't say that. You say these things and I'm sitting there going I prepare

the whole thing. So this segment, no, not the segment. No, we'd like to welcome our first caller to the airwaves on ninety seven, won the Freak. Hello caller, you're live on the radio. Hey where is your mind? Hey? Oh where is my mind? Exactly? Well, I think Jerry the GM needs hired. Okay, he messed up the line first of all, and hung up because he doesn't want to tickets. Apparently the ripcord himself. He messed up the line too, shot out of

the jet plane into the skies, floating down in an ocean somewhere. We're off to a great start. He went with Jerry, the GM needs to fire Jerry to the owner, and then he just ejecked, you gotta not going well so far, Let's go ahead, And I think he got it backwards? Is it? Err? Yeah? I know that's that's where you get tripped. Then he just panicked and hung up. The GM didn't had the power to fire the owner, right, I think Chris Young, the

GM needs to fire Ray Davis, the owner. I was thinking real quick, she's lining up a cault. Does our GM who is I guess will McLay have power over Mike McCarthy as far as personnel, I don't know. Well, yeah, I guess he does as far but I mean, the GM is the head coach's boss, right. His job is to synergize things, which is why you have probably problems. I think teams that draft good players constantly usually have one guy in charge who's good at it. I think

is good at valuing players. I think the scouts are too. I think too often Dan Quinn and Mike McCarthy get to elbow their way in and go, I want this guy. And that's how you got Mazzie Smith and Luke Schoonmaker. That's how you got Taco Charlton back in the day. Even though Will McClay will take the fall for Rod Marinelli on that one, so we don't have to let Rod pick the players. That's why they took Charles Tapper thirty picks ahead of Dak Prescott in round four of twenty sixteen. Don't let

the coaches pick players. Let the coaches coach and coaches stop trying to pick players. Stop. We'd like to welcome our next caller to the phone lines, live on the radio in ninety seven on the Freak, Hello caller, where's your mind? Hello? Cavio, Ingu and Miken, Hello, morning, morning, morning. My mind right now is don't want to be at work. It's raining, it's cold, and I gotta be outside. Uh oh, what lot of work are you in? Fella? And by the

way, what's your name? Who are you? Ernesto? Yes, sir? What do you do outside? Do you work at tower excursions? Extrusions of only no, I'm the forklift driver? And what the job just says the same. We just keep plugging away, Like if it's raining and crappy outside, hey, get get out there, Esto, stuff's not gonna fork itself. Kind of like sports. As long as there's no lightning, we keep going. Can I ask you a question regarding the physics of a forklift?

Sure? O kind answer? Often it looks like the load that the forklift is holding ways more than the forklift itself. Have you ever had so much load that your forklift tumped over? Or is or is the forklift designed in a way where it defies the logic of physics and keeps the palette stacked and nice and tight? Does that make sense? Yeah? So, the the forklift itself, it has a counterweight. If you look at the back,

it's like a big piece of cement block. Really depending on what type of uh forklift it is, but you know, electric maybe they're not as big. Uh So, if you're carrying, say two thousand pounds, your lift is five thousand pounds. That's including that counterweight, so it should easily pick it up. Now, if you try to pick up more than what

the lift itself picks up, it'll bounce up. You know that the back end pretty good until you have it tilted all the way back, so you can pick up more than what uh well, you can pick up close to the weight of the lift, but you'll be in trouble if you try to move. You suppose you're supposed to. Okay, that explains over, Ernest. Do you ever just to Jerry just get a gun and shoot your load?

No, I'm I'm anti shooting at nothing. I usually have a you know, real question though for you, said, forklift driver, do you have to get out and unload all the stuff? No? No, No, it's uh like say full ballots. Yeah, nothing, nothing that I

have to unstack and restack. Well, one of my least favorite jobs working at Stuart's food store at only he liked working there, but whenever I got produce duty and he had to get there at four a m. And unload the truck and you're getting out and the forklift driver just kind of sits in the truck. Yeah, yeah, I do pull old only that's because is skilled. That's right, you can tell you. I can tell you for

certain. Right now, my three year old if given the choice to meet the President of the United States or or Nesto the forklift driver, it wouldn't even he wouldn't think twice, he wouldn't definitely want to be hanging out with her, Nesto because he loves forklifts. Would a three year old want to meet Joe Biden? Yeah? Hello? Why would fifty three year old want to meet Joe Biddy? Hey? You there? Man in the wake up? Hello? Hey, you're cool, You're cool? You got a fish

have America? Come on, we can do this by or Nesto get out there and start lifting some crap. All right, no more time off, all right, I'm I'm going back in. Alright. Do you like the Pixies or modest Mouse? By chance? I don't know who either one of those? See you next time? Or nest O. Thanks for calling here, he goes, Well you buddy, that's six. All right? Go to line three, Line three, A little light on what's on their minds thus far? Line three? Hey call her? Who's this? Good morning?

Good morning guys, Jose? How are you all? Hi? Jose? What's on your mind? You know what? I got a couple of things. Well, first of all, I was gonna say, hey, Danny, can you do and that to me of the song of the ding this morning news song, beautiful piece. So He'll put that in my queue for sure. A beautiful piece. You know, in case you ever don't have a you know, a segment prepared or anything like that, don't great. Never otherwise we can pull out somebody and have them go through the whole

uh instruction's manual on the forklift. Anyway, So we have two shares. We had her next and Jose today, So I tack his pens. You know, we've we've noticed that that the influx or the the ratio of Hispanic to non Hispanic collors we have is far greater than I've ever ever experienced in my life in this business. It's good. I wondering if you had to do with the fact that, like your show is six to ten in the

morning. Yeah, white people get to work at ten thirty, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know yeah, the when the market opens, yeah yeah, the bank both yeah. All right, What's what? What is on your what you know? How are you feeling? How is your mind? Where's your mind? The show it's called What's in your Mind? Is it? Where? Where is your mind? Where's your mind? Where's your mind? Yes? Of course, So I have a couple of

places to go to. So the first one is that. I think it's kind of crazy or very smart that the NFL has a has a salary cap, right, because I grew up in Mexico City and my favorite team. Uh, it's often made fun of because you know, they have so much money that they basically buy championships. Uh and and here, it just kind of sucks that for decades we've been the number one franchise, the Cowboys having a number one franchise in sports, you know, period, right in the

whole world, and we can't get a championship. It's just kind of embarrassing that we're like, oh, well, we don't have the best quarterback, we don't have the best coach, we don't have the best this and that, and and it's like the team to generate the most capital. Have you ever been to Have you ever been to Estadio Azteca. Yeah? Yeah, I mean I grew up very close to it, and so that's where my team is from, is h it's called America. So there they actually played

in the Classic Game Classic Match every year with another team there. So yeah, you've seen games there though, Oh yeah, absolutely. Were you mad about the rumor that the World Cup Final is going to be at eighteen and two. Well, I guess you're probably happy you live here now, but because because we were more mad if it was in Mexico City, because they've had two there, right, two World Cup finals there? Yeah when yeah, and you got it right. Last week it was Maradonna and tell won

it. I'm sort of the soccer soccer brain of the show, so it's no surprise that I had that. And I heard you welcoming Messi this morning in Spanish. That was pretty sharp. Thank you. It was great to have him on. It was quiet, honor. Yeah, hopefully hopefully calls back again later. I don't know. Nine thirty five. I didn't believe sir Roy when he said he set that up this morning. I was like, no way, you got a hold of Messi. He's like, yeah, it's crazy. Yeahs sneaky, yeah, messy sneaky. All right.

Jose, you know want these tickets to you? Yeah? I want Modest Mouse. You don't want to tell me to Modest Mouse. You like Modest Mouse, Jose, you do, absolutely? And the Pixies a band with the Mexican background sort of and some sort of. I have a few songs like Vamos. Yeah, I think Frank Black has a Mexican All right, you want Pixies, modest mouse tickets. Thank you for listening, thank you for your support of our station, and thank you for telling us what's on

your mind? Put on hold, j I'll get your stuff. Yeah, thank you? All right, I like that guy. Good job, Jose quick or Nesto? Jose? Can we get the trifecta? Speed round? All right? Speed bag? Call her? You're live on the radio. Where's your mind? Oh me? Give him tickets to that? That's great? Yeah? Man? You what's your name? Oh? Cool John? John? Are you sure it's not one? Yeah, it could be. Okay. What's going on? Man? What's your mind? Not much?

Oh my god? Do you have anything? Why I'm trying to get to w I. Yeah, well you don't have any tickets either. Sorry dude, but thanks for listening. He goes, Why did you think that was gonna work? The whole plan was just to get on then I'll he's gonna figure it out one more. Alright, go, hey, you're live on the radio. Who are we talking to? We don't dan any stuff saying that they're gonna think you're Hello Jesus, it's Jesus. Hello, Mike, it's me Jesus. Hey, I can hear you breathing. This is why

I hate everything. Maybe the other stations are right to yell and not take callers. I've been because the scrivering out. How often does it work? How often does it go? Well? Wants in a blue moon? You get spoiled in a toneil moon. Did you say wants in a little yes,

okay, that's a point. You get spoiled, and then you go to the well again, realize that was your last bucket of water, was the cool drink, and you go back down there and it's like, dankly, we need more more walands thirty seconds to win this over last one. Swear to God, Hey you're live, go fairly hull two or falling off. I'm having a hard time hearing you. Was easier, all right, thank you. That's just not gonna get there. That's pretty funny, though

quite good enough to get funny. You don't win anything, sorry, dude prepares the tickets to see Modest Mouse and the Pixies left this week. Yeah, make sure you're tuning in for that hot ticket. Nothing better than the authoritative hang up that ends in the immediate dial toe yes, I will tell you. I will be at that show June twenty seventh, and I think it should be a show trip. Where are they playing again? Twyto Music Factory. It's a good spot. I love that place. I love the

pixies we have. In thirty minutes, we'll get to the bottom of this Cowboys and Beef. See her name's mom going hard on f B recruiting him to other teams. The next thing, this morning news. Yes, the natural disaster we never talked about, and they finally closed this trash bar in Deep Elm
