So I don't know, tell somebody today, be proud, Be loud and proud. I saw a bartender friend of mine a number of weeks back, and she was I hadn't seen her in years, and she said, so what do you do with these days? I'm back in radio? And she asked where. I told her and she's like, oh my god,

ninety seven one. She goes, yeah, I didn't even know that was still a thing. And I go, yeah, we've been on for you know, about a year, maybe a little over at that point, and I go, why what do you listen to? She is, I'm up every morning like I listened to morning radio. And she told me about another show that she listened to and I go, what do you like about

it? She's I like it when they take you know, because all their phone calls are pretty much pre recorded on like music stations, like they record them in the breaks, and their conversations are mostly canned, like we tall, you know, we'll take some calls. But she liked that kind of stuff and just that morning show kind of vibe. She goes, I'll check you guys out. Two weeks later, she's like, I'm addicted. Really yes, She's like, this is the funniest stuff and it's the perfect way

to start a morning. So, I mean there's people out there that just don't know. So maybe you tell a friend about it. They don't even know that this thing is up and running and has been for a year. Yeah, and uh, you know, tweet U stuff, scream it, scream it from the highest mountain. We're ha fun man, he's seven one the freak all over the social media stuff. Why not. We're nice. We're nice people having fun with you every morning. That's all it is.

We're just normal men and women, just normal men, innocent men and women. We're just like you. Will show up for work stoned. We'll order fifty dollars a worth of unnecessary morning chicken biscuits. Yeah, you know you've all made those mistakes. We're just like you. But Danny did it today, showed up Stone for work because it was Megagummy here too long for me. You woke up and forth you will up at four thirty this morning, debated calling in I did paranoid Stone or mat Guys, I can't do it.

I'm gonna have to uber if I go at all. I can't try. Just burn on your twenty vacation days left. Yeah, right, your whole month off have We're gonna have a lot of stools with only two legs in the last month of this this year. But anyway, thanks for listening. Let's keep having fun. We got a couple of little grab bag here, right, Kevio, we gotta show that we all watched. And you got some other news on some uh something that was thought to be defunct but

might be making a run. I've been this very interesting? Is this article yesterday? Do you guys own a lot of DVDs like on your shelves of

old TV shows or movies. I'm almost scared of where the story's going because I would say seven or eight years ago, I had one of the largest DVD collections in the Metroplex, like absurd many many, many hundred, I don't know, maybe about a thousand, maybe a thousand, like every movie I ever liked or wanted to ever see, or movies that I thought I would, but they're still in the plastic, Like I had so many DVDs.

But I had a great purge in my life a few years ago, and that would include boxes, going to uh, what's the place on jer No? Oh, half price books, no main Street movie trading company, movie trading company, movie trading company. But some of them have price books too, and they block a few or whatever they actually want, and it probably got pennies on the dollar until I'm frightened to hear what this latest news

is. Do you got story your orders ready, and you show up and you have a check written out to you for twenty seven forty yeah, nineteen dollars cash or thirty five in trade, right, Okay, I don't know what about you, Danny. I do actually about maybe ten years ago when because DVD's got super cheap, or you could get Blu rays, like really good classic films on Blu ray for ten dollars. I ended up buying up

a bunch of those about ten years ago. I haven't done it in a few years, but getting things that I you know, some of my favorite movies, Rebel without a Cause, Cosa Blanca, pulp fiction, No Country for Old Men. It was like in a lot of cool old stuff and also some stuff from the nineties and stuff from now that I just wanted to have on Blu ray for the sole reason that if the streaming ever became an issue. Yeah you know, it was kind of like having some emergency cash

in your safe. Yeah, you know, you have some emergency DVDs. But I didn't want to just DVDs. I wanted the good high def Blu rays, so I collected it. I don't know, I probably got a forty or fifty of those. And then I've got a ton in the garage of just ones that I never threw away. So I have tons of some of my favorite TV shows. And this again, this is all the last ten to fifteen years ago, Breaking Bad Parks and rec Community, all of

those, and I was parks in recing Community. I'm watching the director's cut of these, and I'm watching bloopers and commentary I watched all that stuff, and tons of music DVDs and concert DVDs and things like that. Tons of those still have them, never never watch. So at the end of September, Netflix meld out its last DVD. The Their DVD business back in twenty twelve was bringing in one billion dollars of revenue still in twenty twelve, un

what I said with ten a little over ten years ago. But they were down to one hundred and forty six million in twenty twenty two, which still seems like a lot, but from one billion ten years ago to one hundred and forty six millions, so they got out of that game. Now. Compounding that is Best Buy, probably still the top brick and mortar entertainment store, said that it would stop selling DVDs and Blu Rays at the end of

this year. So this November December your last chance to yogat physical DVDs and Blu Rays from a store like well from best Buy. Now, Amazon and Walmart have been in discussions with studios Universal, Warner Brothers, et cetera about lot if we partnered up on a physical media business and kind of restore some of that. So those discussions have begun but I don't know where it's going still. I'll have to say now by the article I was reading was basically

the when Netflix launched it streaming business. We all know these things. You find everything you wanted, all the TV shows and movies you could ever want. But then because Warner Brothers when they teamed up with Discovery last year, which turned HBO Max to just Max, one thing that they did is they started purging content, so thousands of hours of streaming goes off of that.

Then Disney and Hulu and Paramount did the same thing. They started canceling shows and cutting old titles that they had because they didn't because of agreements and things like that, they didn't want to pay the distribution rights. So studios have the power to pull anything from their services, the streaming services, but they can't take anything from your bookshelf. And the whole point of the article is if you look at what has happened with music, and music was ahead of

TV going to streaming. If you look at what's happened with music, there could be a DVD boom coming in the next few years. And this is purely based on vinyl and what it's done, and CDs have seen a boost too. I was blown away by this. So streaming still accounts for eighty four percent of music revenues, but this is how much. Physical revenues in music reached their highest level this year since twenty thirteen, so ten years the

highest it's ever been. People are buying physical music, and it's not just vinyl. They're very clear. They're like they were talking about audio CDs still, yeah, which seems crazy as cars don't have CD players anymore. No, that's a strange thing. Like I when I had to get a newer car a year ago, Man, it was already a year old at that point, it didn't have a CD player, and I had to trade in a car that did, and I loved it and I used it. But

yeah, you're right, you know. And the reason that these could be collectors' items is because there's nowhere else to find them. Yeah, because nobody will host them on any type of streaming platfor for because it's just not cost effective for him. That's the thing about music. Look, there's a lot of stuff on all of the dsls and or DSPs my bad and digital streaming

platforms. Correct, and if you go the problem is not everything's on there, and there's stuff that you'll go to Josie Records and buy on vinyl or CD that is just not on you know, the apples, a lot of Spotify's, all of those streaming sites that pretty much are you know, share all of the content anyway. But yeah, I could see this being a thing because I mean, seriously, how many times have you want to see that? All right? I wonder what about this movie? And you'll do

the search on your Apple or Roku. It's like it's not out there, Like you can't even pay for it anywhere. It's not on two B or or fart or whatever. HG. It's just not available online. Do you guys? Use just watch? I think I do. I've heard you talk about it. Please get it. It's free, it's a free app. Have put anything you want. It'll tell you if it is streaming free where

it is. Because half the time you probably I mean, with all the crap that we're subscribed to, you're probably already subscribed to something that's showing most everything. Now, there are some I mean, any massive movies are always going to be available, but you're talking about sort of smaller titles that aren't prioritized. I mean that movie I brought up yesterday, Safe Men, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. You can find it almost

nowhere. And that's one DVD I do have, Like I probably have five DVDs because I knew that one's hard to find. But I don't know if you can equate it to vinyl. I don't know if that makes sense, because there's a nostalgic vibe to vinyl, which I suppose there is for that, but is putting a DVD in the tray as communal as Hey go pick an album and you know, there's something cool about vinyl. It looks cool. There's you know, like there's a lot of that's there's sound quality to

vinyl that is different that I think you find nostalgic and enjoy. I don't know if any of that really applies to movies. I after it this article, I immediately thought that, and that was the first thing that jumped to my head is I don't think we can compare this to vinyl, but I am fascinated by it because they left me. The other thing I thought about after that, I thought about cash and the collectible network and just the idea

of having something that it might be worth something. And the way the article ended is if you like, well, these titles are disappearing from streaming services so fast now, it might be worth it to make a run to the store like these next couple months. And just if you see something you like it's a DVD, maybe go ahead and pick it up just in case, because ay, if you like it, you have it, no matter what if a streaming service digged it. I mean, it's not like a main

Sure. One of my favorite TV shows of all time is Community, and it's jumped around even it'll be off Netflix one day, it will go away, and I like that. I have all seven seasons at home. Yeah. I can't figure out the licensing on this stuff because I'm seeing so much of HBO content just showing up on Netflix right now. Yeah. Like, I think they've got all the other stuff, they've got six feet under, but that stuff still on the Max. Yeah, you know, catalog.

I don't know, man, Yeah, I don't know how they there's how many partnership being done. But I stuff that was interesting because we all have them. We all have DVDs somewhere, you know, But are they worth something or are they not should you keep them? Should you try to sell them in the next couple of years. There's something to think about. Kind of interesting, we all, I challenged you, guys. I don't like doing this and like give the homework assignments too often. But I did know

this. I knew this was coming up. I'd seen some reviews of it, and I thought, you guys, just give the pilot episode a chance, because I watched it this weekend and I thought it might be something that you guys would at least find to be interesting. The show is called The Curse and it dropped on Showtime on Sunday. I guess We're Paramount Plus as well would be the other place you could see it. And it stars Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder and another guy. And it's directed by Nathan Fielder and

Safti's his last name. For his first name, I think Ben Benjamin Safty, I believe, and he did Uncut Gems, that Adam Sandler movie with Kevin Garnett in it. And it's essentially a show about a couple who is trying to make this neighborhood better. They neighborhood is called Espanola and it's Emma Stone and Nathan Filder. Basically, they have a reality show on HGTV and it's called What a Flipanthropy? Yeah, it's called and flipping House is for

good. It's almost impossible to even discuss plot because it's hard to tell where this is going. I think yep, but it was already being reviewed as Hey, this is will be a very cringey show. No one guy that that Mikey and I follow a little bit. He basically said, it's a good thing they're releasing these episodes one episode at a time because binging it would be too much to handle. Yep. Although I don't know if he's seen episode two or not, because episode two is not out yet. But episode

one was a ride. What'd you guys think? I don't love I don't like cringe comedy. It makes me uncovered, Like I don't I've seen all the Borat movies. What I've seen like once, you know, like I just can't do it because makes you feel weird. I don't know. Just personality or it's just a choice whatever. The planet Earth is not ready for whatever the hell this show is. This is going to fail, and not because it's not great. Yeah, we can't handle it's over. You can't

describe what it is, you can't. I don't know quite what they're going for. I love Nathan Fielder, and I love that everything he does is something that no one's even considered hosting a meeting to talk about doing, Like, I love that ambitious. I think he might be the radiohead of humans where in fifty years people look back and like, what the hell was that

guy doing and how far ahead of his time? You know, maybe or he'll maybe he'll be completely forgotten, but good, he'll God, he'll always have a cult following though, yes, and there's a you never know how those can blow up at any point in time in society, and that's a great spot to be in. I don't know how to without spoiling. I don't even know if it's spoiling, because it almost doesn't matter. Like, I don't know what the show is about other than he gets a curse put

on him because he screws over a little kid. I guess to me it's about him and his wife are kind of like a chip in jojo and they want to flip houses in this community in New Mexico. As they're going through the things that they want to do to kind of gentrify this neighborhood without using the G word as they say. They also have a film crew following them.

This is all scripted, all of it. None of this is like it's not like Borat where some of it is real life pranks, whether he's trying to pull something over on somebody, maybe edited really creatively to make it look a certain way. But this is no one's everybody's in on the gag on this. It's a little sitcomy kind of thing. It's hour long,

but it plays out like that. But they are being followed around while they're trying to do their house flipping stuff and they're being filmed for HGTV, so it's showing all of that and it's it's a wild premise and the director man is trying to get them to do wild stuff right because they're being boring. Because them Stone, this show sucks. Sims Stone seems like her character is committed to really looking like she is. You know, uh has a good

carbon footprint, We're keeping the world green a lot stuff. I Meanwhile, her parents run a company that she does not want to be involved with at all. From a publicity standpoint because of they've done bad things in the past or whatever. But it's also I think a tale of a marriage too, is they're in their first year of marriage and are clearly having problems, including the fact that it is revealed that Nathan Fielder has the world's smallest penis and

you get to see it. Well, him or Corbyn Burnson are in competition. We saw two micropens. Do you think that was really his? I will say for the movie, for the Corbyn Burnson scene, I was thankful that these subtitles covered up the image. Okay, I needed subtitles, okay. And there's I suppose what you call a sex scene. Yeah, I don't even know what to call. That involved hell, a guy named Steven who is not a real guy. He's not there, equipment, some weird

conversation. I mean, you do have am a stone writhing, which is you know, good entertainment. Love to the third degree is the part that mostly we have to talk about this like nobody's seen it, which they haven't. Right, how do you it's the producer trying to show them why their show is not currently entertaining. Right, He's like, let me show you what works. I'll show you what I did. This show is amazing,

this is what we need to be like. And here is the premise of Loving the third Degree, which you don't find out the name of the show until the end of his little trailer, but it's essentially think of the bachelor. It's one dude. There are fifteen ladies that are wooing for his affection. The mystery is he's wearing a mask the entire time, and the ladies are presented that this could be a famous athlete, it could be a millionaire, it could be anybody. You don't know who this guy is. He's

a full robe and like a golden mask. All you could see is the pupils of his eyes and he's but apparently he's like the coolest dude in the world, and he woos all these women and he ends up selecting his wife to be and on their wedding day, the mask comes off only after their wedding ceremony has been completed. Yes, do they remove the mask? Remove the mask, and we find out that the bachelor is a man who suffered a serious burn injury from an apartment fire. Yeah, a terrible burn victim.

His face is all Freddy Krueger, it is so terrible. And then they have Dan Cortes as the host, say, find out what happens this season on Love in the three and then he admits that it got it gets it didn't get picked up. A fine, it didn't get picked up, but still but his point is ready. He's like, you, guys,

can you give me something to work with? So I have something for the t S. Look, I don't know if it's gonna do well or not, but it's gonna do well thinking but if it does well critically, that's enough because a lot of sometimes these networks just want awards and nominations and good critical And you have Emma Stone, like you have a legit, big name, even if you've never heard of Nathan field This separates it from any Nathan

Fielder project. He's got just him effing around with his friends. And it's a big name director too, and Safty who's tied. I bet it will be critically acclaimed. I bet no one will really watch it or talk all that much about it. Cannot wait until episode two. You know what. When it ended, I was so thank you, But now a day later, I can't wait. I'm ready for more. I can't wait to see the next time you have a well, crap the curse. It's on Showtime.

I watched it on Paramount Plus. I think it might be on Apple TV. I don't know. Just watch I just did, and it's on something that's it has Paramount Plus and Apple TV logo, both in the same little box. So I don't know who all these bedfellows are in streaming now you know because it's Fuboo and Paramount Plus or they are all these combination platters.

But if you like insane, random, cringe worthy humor, good lord, it's Nathan Fielder, probably at his best and maybe even probably the most palatable for gaining a larger audience, because didn't you think that this is kind of a fraction of the nuttiness that he's capable of. It's dumb down, just a tiny bit, but even a dumbed down Nathan Fielder is still beyond most people's insanity level of want. Buckle up if you do it and let us know if you liked it by hollering at us or tweeting at us.

Comedian TJ Miller coming up at nine o'clock, Danny, what's next? Which Grammy nominee almost got kicked off of a flight for singing too loud.
