Good morning. You're listening live to ninety seven one. The Frank came to the Dallas Mavericks late at night. It's the Boston Celtics, and many more things like the Speakeasy, the Ben and Skin Show, and us the Downbeat. I'm Kevin Turner, but Danny Baylis, Mike's Roy JJ Jackson, and we are gonna have fun today at nine o'clock, the Return, I'm fearful to announce the shocking return of something at nine o'clock. Don't miss nine o'clock.

I'm fearful and excited for nine o'clock today ding good morning News. At eight thirty eight o'clock, we got a chance for you to win tickets to a concert. And it's a bye. By the way, I was gonna say, I think we're already one of the most interactive shows and stations on radio, the amount of times that we lend the radio to the listeners, and that continues to day to talk to day with a segment called where is your Mind, where you get to call in and we're gonna judge your report.

What's on your mind? Your report? Yeah, what's big in your world? You report what's on your mind? Or where is your Mind? Yeah, look, it's for Pixies and Modest Mouse tickets. Yeah, yes, a show. What's the title? I think will be announced today? Okay? So yeah, I was searching for that last night. I was trying to find when the date was, and I couldn't find one thing about Modest Mouse and the Pixies in Dallas. You probably shouldn't talk about it.

And then I got to thinking it hadn't been announced yet, but it'll be announced today, but we shouldn't. Okay. So when tickets to a mysterious unannounced big rock big show that's coming to town, and the segment is called where is your Mind? But we won't say who the tickets are for? But I ideally it's something like weird that you've been thinking about. I mean, sure, you can talk about the weather or sports, and that's fine.

Maybe an editorial man, you want to go off on something, right, but we all think of just dumb random stuff that's been bugging you or why is this like this? Think of it as a long form talk back, sure, you know, yeah, not too long. It could be about something that we've said or something we've talked about up to that point. You know, that's how the talkbacks typically kind of play out, they play off something that we've discussed. Yes, you know, you get a little

more time. You have a little more time to kind of expound on your your vision, and you have two hours right now to tidy up your vision, make it bite size palatable. Yeah, and shoving our mouths and the odds are in your favor if you're listening now, because more people will be jumping on as the day continues. Yeah, when you got a tow hour head start. There's a lot of people out there sleeping right now, probably, And may the odds always be in your favor. We'll get into games

at seven, all the games. There were so many good football games this weekend. Good God, great. In six point thirty, we have someone huge, maybe one of the world's biggest stars in town tonight. No one's talking about it, that's right, Ron de Santis in town, no kidding. We'll talk about the return of Messy to the Metroplex at six thirty five, and why it's more affordable than you think. In fact, it makes

what you doled out six months ago makes you kind of look dumb. Yes, if you want to see Messy tonight and sitting in the cold, rainy, rainy open stadium on metals. Yes, it can all be yours. Everything can be yours. He'll probably not even start, you know, just come in for four minutes at the end. Actually have update on that, you do? Yeah? Is he going to start? Six thirty five? We have to wait. Earn it. You gotta earn it. Man, man, man, he doesn't want to wait. I don't want to wait

either. You gotta wait. I can google it right now. Will Messy start? No? Stop? You know, I'm gonna don't give him ideas now coming over the don't give him ideas. Make your breakfast, your protein shake if you're already your breakfast, because because you're smart, you go to work early. Clock in, you clock out it like two. That's a lot of people do. Yeah, genius. If you don't have to work x amount hours, you get in there before the bosses. Do business people

clock him? Okay? So factory people, yes, do they have a ticket and the stamping machine on the wall. It's more digital now, but yeah, you kind of roll it through a thing. If anybody throws their little ticket into a stamping machine two one fourth, you can see what's on your mind there. You go have pixies. I mean mystery concert tickets at eight. Think about those days. That's kind of gone. I mean things, uh tech technology that's extinct now you cassettes or eight tracks. Boy,

the punch clock has definitely become the phone booth. Things that you used to see that were part of your day to day and now they just don't exist in a relatively short amount of time. I'm sure you did punch clock, did you? It was not the punch It was still the same thing. You slide the receipt through or the it's almost like a cardboard, like an sat exam. What do you call those things? Did you as a scantron? Scantron? It's like a scantron still, well, the same principle,

but you know nowadays it's all digital. You punch in your code when you get to work and it logs your hours. But maybe you did this or did you ever work with a punch clock anywhere? Okay, did you ever have the fellow employee that would be knowing they're going to be late. It's like pumps me in, punch me in. We clocked me in. Yes, absolutely, as long as we get back. What a terrible fail safe that system had Will you steal money from the company for me? Punch me

in? Maybe the company should have gotten up to today's standards today. Well then they should have had standards from eighty years ago. Most companies still operate encoding hours under the I've done this in rant million times. I'm sorry my thirteen billion years ago rant. But Ford Motor Company again nineteen twenties. We still go off that. We go off that not everyone is building ours for Ford Motor Company. Adjust now needed for factories forty hours, need it,

gotta have it sometimes more. But most people don't work at factories. A lot of people do. I guarantee you they still don't punch clocking in over at air tractor. Hell yeah, And shout out to my mom would be something goes in early, really and she listens, Yeah, Kevin probably has to turn it off once people started like arriving at eight and she doesn't like

five am. Kevin's parents own an airline, Well, they don't. The biggest I did tell them where air tractors don't have door plugs airline I was telling them. I was like, Mike is kind of fascinated with where Danny and I grew up. Oh, yeah, I'm very fascinated, but I have very little urge to go see your lands. It's a day trip, man, Yeah, I know that's quick day trip. That's too much.

You go right for the show and be back by three cocks. I would need a detailed like itinerary, as Kevin's is kind of a day trip. What is only a couple two hours? Two hour and a half. Excuse me, as far away as you think where Kevin grew up and in the sticks go to his house and then drive another hour west. Yeah, Danny's in a town a third of the size of Kevin's, and Kevin's is small. One is a small town. Three what is it about? Three thousand

people? Maybe three thousand is the usual census number. I'm not sure what the latest numbers are, but three thousand. I bet it's dipped because I know when I went to high school, Knox City was around eleven hundred thirteen hundred, and it's well below a thousand. So you're a thousand, right, that's always my gauge only's right at three or three thousand and nineteen. Yeah, that's good, guy, of that's good. That's good. So what you want Knox City is just over one thousand. So then bounced back,

I'm not, are you like the most famous Knox City? I mean without being though we are, Mike, I wasn't talking to you. You're not famous. I guess it's subjective, you know, but pretty famous, Mike. Is there anything in your high school like comrating? No? I look, I know. I was one of those that left and never went back other than to visit my mother that lived there until probably twenty sixteen.

Moved her to Dallas and she needed assisted living. She was, you know, eighty eight years old, and then she got Alzheimer's and passed away in eighteen. So I have not been back there since her funeral in twenty eighteen. And there's I have a really good friend that I grew up with there very close, remain close all through our adulthood, and we'll text on occasion. But other than that, there is one no reason for me to go back. Do you think they're waiting for the return of the prodigal song?

No usually sneak in under the cover of night, Mikey dude, you but I mean no, Joe, you have talked about Knox City in damn Dallas, the closest big City to Knox City for thirty years. I don't know about millions, but I might say millions of people have been are aware of Knox City because of you. I've done more for the city of all need than anyone has. There is they mentioned on the radio for the last ten years. They've been mentioned almost daily on the radio, and they don't acknowledge

that I exist. I even't. Look when I was putting a TV show together a couple of years ago and it was gonna simulcast in wichitall falls Okay for those of you that didn't know, Kevin used to have a TV show, Yes, and I didn't get canceled. I chose not to do it again. It was airing wichitall fall too. It got canceled. It did not get canceled. You can't get canceled on c W. They're begging for content. They changed things on as quick on this world, So enjoy you

every minute while you haven't. I go ahead and want to run out of your contract. That's what he told himself. I was adjusting his tie in the mirror for his last show. I don't want to run another Young Sheldon and my showrunner had said, it's not worth her time anymore. But Aaron Winch Tall falls too, and I called only for I need a couple of favors because I had to make my own commercials too. I mean I made a commercial of the only country club the golf course. Worked to deal with

them to sponsor and give me some money. Called the newspaper and said, run a whole article show just saying this is gonna air. Throw it in there, hurry you again. And I just realized it was a transplant, not some guy who grew up in the town whose family had lived there. You know, he's some guy from out of town. Might screw you, man. I've done more for your city than you could ever know, and I could do more for your newspaper. But you know I used to write

articles before anyone knew you existed. I used to write articles, huge articles in the paper. It was a star. But who's the Knox City mayor? Because the official show of calling mayors is the Ben and Skin Show. And they had you hear that last week. No called, uh. I tuned in and they were on the phone with the mayor of crandall trying to get a little hanging thing under the sign that says Crandall that says home of

Christina Ray of you know, ninety seven on the free of course. And once it went great because once you pin the mayor down on live radio, of course and go yeah, it's another great idea, let's do it. And then they called the mayor of Only. Really okay, the mayor of first of All, the mayor of Crandall was doing a lot of yeah, I'll have to see you know, I'll talk to the board members, talk to city hall. The mayor of Only was like, yeah, we can

get it done. He was in now granted he's my age and one of my good friends from high school. He was the quarterback. Are you serious? Not only did he stay in Olney, he became the mayor. Well, he works at Wherever Farm a tower extrusions. You know when you see stadiums that are built all throughout the land here in America. It was built probably by tower Extrusions out of Onney, Texas, along with air tractor, two of the most thriving, thriving industries. Wait, seriously, I'm telling

you small town companies air tractor and tower extrusions. Crush Only is a good place to be and that's why I'm running for mayor and the terrain of whatever the other guy's name is. You're saying most buildings and no, I'm saying most stadium seats that you find in NFL stadiums or at live golf tournaments built by Tower Extrusions. I'm serious. I believe you. I don't. You don't have to believe me. I mean, they're weird companies specializing weird things.

And I don't know if he's making that. Just don't know why they'd put that factory in a three thousand population a town with the population of three thousand people. It seems like if you had a company that big that's making that many stadium seats for that many arenas and stadiums aground the globe, you'd think you'd be able to you'd need more employees than the people that live there. Yeah, I don't know a lot of people driving from Graham Archer City,

which the falls is just really though. Yeah, he's just repeating what his friend's dad, who works at Tower Extrusions against the wall one day and yelled, thank you the importance of his job. Hey, you could have a job here one day. No, I'd probably have fifty people I know that work there too. Honestly, where's this factory that's right in town? Traders ding Dong City a thousand times, and I've never seen a factory that was sustained seating for stadiums? What is it behind the alsips? I mean,

you're gonna make me do research. You know you lived there. I don't know the I don't have a pamphlet for tower Extrusions. It doesn't matter. How long has the damn thing been in business. I mean since I've been alive, and I've been alive for how many years? Not long enough? Kevin? How many? How many years? Howld them thirty five? No, sir, I am not You're thirty six and thirty six, Happy birthday? Thank you? Sew someone would get it. I don't know,

because someone just said I'm not buying this, that it's my birthday. No, that there's this Tower Excursions does stadium seats? Someone checked? Someone said, check out Southern Bleacher in Graham, Graham, Texas. Okay, shram does no more than seventy five years in stadium ruction, stadium arena, Speedway's bleachers, you can trust. I mean, this is a website tells me what they do. What about Tower extrusions. Tower Strutan's just confusing. Yeah,

it just takes you to a dead geo. Citi's link nineteen seventy I'm looking at it right now. Tower Extrusion dot Com nineteen seventy seven. I mean, dude, it's got a five hundred and thirty thousand square foot facility in Onlley, Texas. And they got a couple of locations too. Southern Bleacher since nineteen forty six. Dude, Well, yeah, okay, here's what Graham does. Graham's got a few more people, and they come in and they're all snobby and they start going, look what we did. We're

in Young County two. We don't like it. Only he's got a very popular radio host talking about only all the time. And they come in. We know Emily Jones. When's the last time Emily Jones went and got the back of Graham Texas? Rarely? She grew up the family there, of course, but you can expect to call from Emily here at about we did thirty I think she did dead call and yell at us a few months ago. Well, her name came up. I'm just saying Southern Bleacher had a

thirty year head start on tower extrusions. So all the stadiums that were built prior to seventy seven couldn't have had anything to do with tower extrusions. I don't know, Copycat World, Southern Bleachers, what what stadiums they they're they're working on that best, you know, but if they wanted to, you know, all right, if it's on their website somewhere, you guys are seeing that, that's great, that's cool. He's so defensive, he really is. Textors say, I work at the hospital. We still clock in

with ID badges. Okay, One guy Texter says, uh work we clock in via software app that tracks your physical location via GPS. That legal. Oh well, the red dots in the bathroom again, it's been forty five minutes. Yeah, that that doesn't seem right. Almost no movement, just

a gentle left to right shifting. There's a story about that. If you work at a I don't know if it's true or not, but if you work at the Amazon warehouse, like they track how fast you're moving, and you kind of get paid on how much you get done, and or you could get bonuses if you got a lot done, you know, and you're just running all over a warehouse, collecting things and putting them in a container.

But there are people who would talk about yeah, like I would not go to the bathroom and not drink water so I could hit my bonuses because I needed the bonus money and I couldn't hand if I had to go to the bathroom for sixty seconds, that would hurt me and I couldn't make my time. I add that up one, two, three times a day, three minutes. I mean there's a rat race to get hit their bonuses.

That's crazy. But I don't know if that is. I have a friend who works somewhere where they're on their computer and to go to the bathroom that to you know, click something that says they're going to the bathroom, and at times how long they're in the bathroom and how many bathroom breaks per day they take. Wow, And I think I'm a friend of either who got fired or it was warned many times for their lack of efficiency due to beat

That's crazy. I always find it intriguing back to Kevin being so defensive about this share company and Alney, I don't care. It's always funny to me when guys that grow up in these small towns. They have this, they carry it with them throughout their lives, and they know that their mission is

to never forget their roots. Man, I just wish that those people would be honest, because look, I'll tell you straight up, the three biggest exports out of Knox City, it's probably cow diarrhea, methamphetamines, and teenage pregnancy. That's what we're offering. Yeah, okay, this is going to be offensive. Okay. I grew up in a house of love. What does that mean? Here's you kind of an orphan had parents? Kind of like I had parents. Who's the house of love as well? For the

first year I was lovingly adopted. I don't remember. What are your memories when you're on the land, Just roll over and the wind blows. And yes, I'm being shoved up a chimney with a broom to earn extra money for the family when I'm nine months old. I feel bad about it. I'm sorry, man, that was That was rude, that was cheap, and I'll serve my time in a local pennicentry for one text says KT is correct. My brother in law runs it and used to be in a band

with KT. Who's that? I don't know. Can we just read his phone numbers? I want to hear more about this band. I had multiple bands? Yeah, okay, so probably yeah, okay, yeah, I know that might be yeah cool. Can I do a quick transition? You can't. But there's right there fodder for eight o'clock to win tickets. Maybe the many people that live in the metroplex, I would say a majority, but a ton are from those little satellite small towns that that migrate to the

big cities after they graduate. You know what, maybe what pimp your city? What's so great about Newcastle so you can sit here and rip it to shreds? And the winning city? What's so great about Winert? And the winning city? Ben and Skinnill come to a remote at your city? There he is, somebody's out. Sorry, I'm not taking the pill yet. You give me names of tiny Texas cities and I'll try to and see which ones you can lie about. You know, I'll see if I can tell

which is a real Texas city. See if I'm a good Texan yet. Just say their names or give you a little their mascot there. It could be funny names or however you gonna do it. I can see if I can determine the fake. Okay, with a little one sentence right up, could be sure to like the name of city, their mascot reeler fake and then what they're what the city's known for, because you just make up a

name, mascot and the production of aluminum whatever. I mean, Look it's and that's probably a lot of towns have some company like that, but generally not as big as Tower Extrusion and Air Tractor in Allney, Texas, the home of the Cubs and radio star Kevin Turner Radio Hall of Famer. According to jet Chat GPT, you can't take that away from me. All Texas, the city and the state hated so much that they built a highway to

go around it. No, it was just it was because you wanted to see all of it, the ability to drive around it from from from far away. Three minutes on pizza, have you guys been to Okay? First of all, it goes with that being said Andrews is the best place to get pizza in this market saying that because the partners. I'm saying because every time I go, I get something different and I like it. Detroit style, Dallas Stash whatever, lasagna, soup, pizza, bowling, AI's just

nuts. Yeah, carb up good. Lord place is great. I didn't try a new pizza place on Friday night. Have you guys been something new? Actually, it's not that new. Have you guys been to De Luca Pizza? De Luca? No? Oh? Is that the they keep bringing it? Green light red light, green light, red light pizza? I have. I think JJ and I talked about that. You may be the one, either you or Jillian Moran, but I feel like you went and we talked about it anyway. Yeah, Jillian told me about it. What's

the story? So I didn't know? And uh yeah. You go in and it's twenty five bucks and they say it's five course meal. So they give you this like it's like a rugula salad. You have meatballs of some sort, two meatballs so Kobe beef meatballs, a little cup of lobster bisc and you can holler at me when it comes to bisk and shout us we know all. I'm like, why is it a cup? In? The

guy? My server, who looked a lot like a moonlighting Dak Prescott goes, don't drink it all, save it, dip your pizza crust in it and I went, oh, insider information, and then pizza and then dessert pizza, and it is. They give you a little cardboard card, green light like Brazilian steakhout style, like bring it on or red light, cut it off my tumb tumb herts, and it is thin. Slices are very small. It's like luxury see ses pizza. It is not the best pizza

I've ever had. I want to be clear about that, but it was fine. But they keep there's dudes just cruising around holding pizzas and just kind of walking in front of your nose and you're like two of those and one of that spicy pepper, and then the man. The man is gone, and then then a different man pops up out of nowhere. Pizza women serve pizza out. The women serve pizza have been waiting for this day. Hot hot, hot, buffalo, chicken pizza, Tiki massala, Turkish lamb.

You know, I remember a lote pizza. What corn pizza, corn pizza and it's great. Then this sounds like a place that doctor Agarwall would not recommend you. And I eat a yeah, yeah, definitely, I will say. Went home and I did not feel great mm hm, and also deserve pizza. They had dessert pizzas, say, like a nutella pizza, one of like cinnamon banana pizza. This is ridiculous, but it's all tiny, so you trick yourself and I can have as many of these as I

want because they're small. They're slivers, but you can eat forever. It's great, and dude, it's it's effit affordable. I mean, you're sitting there going, I got my twenty five dollars worth here. Yeah, you know, and if you don't drink good, I don't. I you know, this was an occasion. So I had a bottle of wine, a bottle, and maybe that's why I tell me hurt too, and that's why I had a lot of gird in my throat. Did you have a bottle?

Yeah? You washed down twenty five dollars worth of buffet pizza with a freaking bottle of KIANTI. I wonder why you exploded your porcelain bowl. When you go home you have forty slivers of pizza and a bottle of red and explode the ball you did. I went in the backyard fertilizer. It's like, man, just don't don't imagine I need to make imagine, imagine it. I dare you your dog? If you had a dog, you'd be looking at you like, bro, Yeah, what stealing my moves? The

hell? You're an animal? The dog sitting on the couch and changing the palls on YouTube TV while you're out back, shaking and shivering, lunched over. I think he's taking my woman. Well, good pizza of you, Kevin. It is a unique place. Is there one? Is it over near the colony as there's one that way up north, but we went to the one down in Dallas. We went to Double D's before the bar, Double D's, oh over in Design. First time i'd been to Double D's.

Cool. Yeah, incredible place. Yeah. Do they live up to their name? Not a booby bar. Boobs and ass hot hot, really good drinks and the rare place that does a lunch box. Once you guys made Probably probably not? Have you guess if I haven't had a lunchbox, have you? It's a cheap beer, usually Schlitz, but then I have Schlitz amaretto and orange juice. It's a lunchbox. Incredible sounds, gross, sounds, gross, taste amazing and it's an iconic classic drink for back in

the olden days. Coming up next, the most important thing in the world. We have one of the world's biggest stars in town tonight. Did it sneak up on you like it snuck up on us. We'll talk about it next. Of ninety seven one the Free
