Good morning. There's pipes bursting everywhere, pipes bursting in Dallas or Worth water main brakes. But the roads they're nice. We canceled the Metroplex today for no reason. The roads are just fine, at least on my right end. How about your ride in? Yeah? Perfect? Are you talking to us or people that are I'm always talking or something. I'm always talking to America and our two percent of listeners in Hong Kong. I'd like to put
out the call for people to phone in if their roads are bad. And I bet we don't get one call no, because this was like a normal day driving in. Man, I stand and fight for corporate America. Don't let these people off today. Okay, you call them right now and you say nah, water cooler talk. The roads are good. My boy's Kevio dingu and Detective Dick say no, sweat. You can't get anything done unless you go into the office. Get him in, big boss man, get
them all in, Round them up, get him in. Don't want your excuses want you're ass in that chair typing away. How is your company going to be unique? If everyone's just going back to excuses. Everyone's got excuses. That doesn't make your company any different. You're just like any other company, trying to stay above the line. Get your employees to work. Those episodes of Reacher aren't going to watch themselves. That's what they're doing. They're
watching Reacher today. That's what the oil guy I said yesterday. That was funny. I've been working all night. We're like, oh, man, what a badass. He's out there. What are you Roughnecker. Yeah, he's just with a tank top doing the big metal thing, possibly losing a finger every ten seconds. Oh my dude, Hell yeah, you're out there getting it done. Gas price is good right now, it's twelve degrees. This guy's killing it. Yeah, keeping America. Strong smoke coming out of
his mouth, breathing heavy. He's in a nice heated office watching Reacher. No. I watched Reacher the whole second season, all of it. God Boss asked him to come in and an overnight and a beautiful warm trailer crushing Reacher. He experienced the he experienced the Arctic blast, the twelve feet he walked from the trail door to his truck. He called in because he was
mad about the cowboys. Right, Yeah, as watch Reacher at worked all right, everybody trying to get over Well, you know what, people don't make it make it difficult when they close every school in a hundred radius. Is it a lot of that, dude? Uh yeah, And a lot
of this was getting ahead of it yesterday. And like I'll say, like yesterday we had NBC five's Kevin Smith on the meteorologist and he predicted that Rhades would be treacherous today just because the temperatures were going to remain in the fifteens. But the problem is we just didn't get enough precip over the weekend. Was that in line with your models? It was in line with my models. As the week went on, as we got closer, it became more
evident we weren't going to have as much of a threat of precip. Now. Look at may be different up north, you know Denton County and up there toward the Red Yeah yeah, but man, down here, it was a light dusting and and whatever traffic mushed that into slush and uh melted ice. It all evaporated. We had enough sunshine yesterday where all that stuff evaporated. Like my yard had snow in it all gone. Yeah yeah, I figured it would survive the night, but no, we I don't care if
you get to work or not. But no joke. The roads are totally fine, at least in Dallas from downtown Dallas from oak Cliffe to Addison, at least in the toll way and all the side roads. Any one was about my house, which are sometimes the ones that you know don't get the treatment. Zero problem thirty east or west from East Dallas area six thirty five, seventy five bridges, overpasses, high fives, exchanges, just like just like a normal day. Now we're a little further north Richardson going west to
Addison. All clear. Where our problems are going to be today is water main bursts. What's a water I think it's like the fire higer right or is it short for main line? Is it it may and e or is it m A I N water main m A I N it is, Yeah, sure, I see it right behind your head on the NBC five TV right there. Look at that, And that's down where we used to work by what al Rodgers and what is that pearl? Pearl? So there's a bunch. There's a guy. His name and I thought this was funny when
I looked at the article. His name was Master plumber David Butler, WHOA so the master plumber I didn't go to plumbing school for eight years, should be called mister he Uh he said that. Uh, they got a bunch of calls yesterday. You know, once the temperatures got going up into the twenties a little bit. They barely got into the twenties and some places though, So, I mean, but we have a water main burst downtown off Pearl Street. The watermain burst in four earth and I s's one off one
eighty three as well. And I don't know the specific neighborhood on that yet because they're just now kind of starting to report these. But yeah, roads are gonna suck down there by Pearl downtown. Yeah, that's gonna be icy and nasty today. But the main thoroughfares are largely unaffected. They've I've got one break that's Highway three seventy seven north of Benbrook one on Jacksonborough Highway,
which is one ninety nine. Kevin familiar with that stretch of land heading toward downtown Fort Worth along the thirty five west of Felix Street and then the aforementioned Pearl Street exit ramp from seventy five to what al Rogers. So those all three are active, and I think they started around three am, and that's gonna stick and freeze and turned eyes right, because yeah, we don't jump out of the We don't jump out of like the twenty and to teens.
We didn't get above freezing until maybe tomorrow. What the thing is is they've gotten ahead of. This has happened early enough that they've already closed those roads. So put some Brian on it. I don't know. I think they need to worry about finding the break and shutting the water off down there, But as far as like traveling on that stuff, look, go to work. Watch some Reacher. The highest sixty one next Tuesday, just so everyone, look, we're gonna make it through it just fine. It'll be sub
sub freezing all day today and then tonight and then tomorrow. I think we're up into what the low forties. Yeah, the Friday, another cold front hands. I think the high on Friday's thirty four, the high on Saturday's thirty six, So stay inside and watch football Saturday. I guess the thing that blew my mind was opening up the school closing list, the most recent
one, and I mean they made these decisions last night. I know it's probably difficult to put that horse back in the barn, you know, overnight, But dude, this list, Mikey, this page. Look at this, I mean it is look at this. This is all DFW, and percent of the text that you're seeing there are closed schools or delay openings, closed their campus to really yes, it's according to this, it's just precautionary from the hell we all had a couple of years ago, right, yeah,
and why not get ahead of it. What's the real problem if you miss it this way versus say they're open and then it's hell out there? Can you imagine someone from Buffalo coming to Dallas for the first time and hearing this segment, yeah, and being outside to them this is spring beautiful, y'all coast for hunh you'r coach for who y'all wait won yesterday? I don't think they sound like that, not at all. Well, but odd voice, I think you need to keep working workshopping Buffalo, Kevo, don't add
Buffalo to your list. Stop thinking of Buffalo. I don't care what anyone says. The Buffalo Loud Wings commercial with the singing Buffalo is hilarious, Like that is they just the commercial stars. You don't see him, and you hear him going on the barbecue wa and it's a huge buffalo and when it zooms out you can see how big he is, his heads always hitting the ceiling and he's talking to the people at the table, just having wings. It's great. I missed the buffalo. Did you see the newest, the
Great White Buffalo? The Ella Cool Jay Don't turn in your parents commercial? No, oh, those are obviously we all love those. And it's the one dude, Oh, I think no, it wasn't Kevin. He's standing there and then doctor Rick is there. He's like, I don't want to slowly turn around and just don't do anything. And the guy turns around and it's hello, cool Jay standing there and he just immediately extends his hand and
says Keith and introduces himself. Instantly freaks out. And then they show him showing videos of his nephew to Elle cool Jy on his phone, Yeah, on his phone, trying to find him piano recital. I s all the blue hair at the store, don't say it. Yeah, that's what I'll see it exactly, I'll see it blue. It's funny watching like people that were you know, relevant in the nineties eighties, that are aging and you know, growing in the middle age, just kind of embracing that role and
remaining in entertainment. Like Ll could probably have never imagined himself in twenty twenty four being the old guy in the insurance spot. Ye, turning into your dad. And that's the connector is well, I'm a contemporary of your dad, so of course they know me. It's just really funny to see because we're all, you know, I'm probably closer. I'm closer to ELL's age
than you guys. Obviously you are Kevin, but you two Mikey. So it's just funny to see all these dudes that I grew up with that were you know, relevant to high school in my early twenties that are now thought of as grandparents. And he's fifty six. Yeah, he's older than me. Crazy. What's your exact birthday? I'd rather not give that out. Why doesn't people don't need to March. We'll just say March. Stay away from his birth certificate. I wanted to see what slab might be born in
the exact same day as you. Well, why would that you worried about receiving tons of great presents. No really not. Oh, it's like my birthday. I don't share it with anybody really great, Like it's Jason Kidd and like one other person Heath Ledger for me, I meant on your exact day, like there was one exact year, oh year, and yeah, okay that I don't know. I don't worry about them. I don't think anybody good. Yeah, what about minute now or do you go to find
that in the time you're born. I have some sort of like a piece of art on my in my house was Zoo animals and yeah, like Clay Numbers and the show the exact I think it was very very early in the morning. Mine is a baby shoe. Yeah, there you go. We all got something eight to fourteen pm PM, which explains my night out tendencies before they said you'll be good for morning drive. I think mine was three or four of the morning, which in yours as well, which explains our
overnight ol tendency. Yeah, exactly. Hoot. Paul Cogan saved a life. We'll get to that in twenty minutes. Sports at seven, uh and the preliminary teas I'm going with right now, although it could use workshopping is why the Cowboys should hurry and make a decision, much like officials did in DFW to cancel school today. They should make it fast. I texted you guys in the middle of the third last night that Eagles game, saying,
I hope Jerry's on the phone with with Bill. Bill was on the phone or in person with the Atlanta Falcons last night, Bill being Bill Cosby. Look at him, Bill Belichick? What if it just hit me? What if Bill Cosy was the coach of the Falcons? How well did that be if he coached the NFL dame after all of these been through, I had put people there and they're just dominant. It's like, damn it, I don't want to pull for him. If they're fun, they're running the fact
he's a bad man. Did uh Belichick really did an interview with him? He interviewed with the Falcons last night. Yes, that's what I wanted to ask you guys. I saw that too. Do you think that Belichick is going to take the first offer that he vibes with or is he going to do the NFL tour and just first class food hotel? Or does he even care about that stuff? Can you imagine that dude in an interview, you know, yeah, you know we you know, we got a big plan.
We had some in our past and you know, look to replicated. Here here's my dog. Like does he even like try to fake a smile in an interview, you know, and like put on anything other than I think so, I think he's a little more relatable than he shows. I do believe that. You know what I bet it is is I go ahead that bella chicken saving thing. That documentary on HBO was eye opening. It showed that he's a real person. He's still boring, but you know,
it showed that he's got something. I bet beyond him slapping down his resume, which like you need a printed copy of that. His credentials speak for themselves. I bet what it is is the teams, the suitors are asking him, hey, looking at our situation, what would you do? And I'm talking about personnel schemes all that stuff. And then the owners a GM probably listens to what he has to say and if that stuff, you know, works for them or gets them excited, he's cool with Arthur Blank Arthur
Mike is going to let him run the show. Now you don't have a quarterback, so you figure all that out. Yeah, but they got a lot of other stuff, at least offensively. I wonder how I would love to talk to a coach, maybe retired one, about the process of interviewing
for head coaching job, because you do here sometimes it's five hours. And then does Bill Belichick have to go nuts preparing for an interview with the Falcons and learning every position players, you know, contract situation, who's not going to be here, what gaps need to be Like, do you have to do all that beforehand? Does the average potential first time head coach have to do that? Bill Belichick doesn't really have to do that. It may have
to Bill to do anything. I would imagine, right, he's like, look who I am? It might be you know how Like we talk about chemistry and one of the clearest paths to success is to be able to get along with people you know, and absolutely especially unper management, they love us, love us. But I bet it's a lot of that just trying to like kind of getting to know each other, the personality, seeing how how you gel with the with the people that are obviously going to be there when
when you're gone. Probably that you know, just kind of find out if you vibe with each other. It's dumb for him if to just go and take the Falcons job, and the Falcons it's great for them if they could get Bill Belichick right. Whether you think of Bill Belichick, this is good for the Falcons either way, if they work. It'd be done for him to take the job without the Chargers or that the Cowboys hiring anyone. I mean, you know, at least, dude, you at least listen.
He may have it in his mind, I would never work for the Jones family. I don't think that's the case. In fact, I think he
would like to be here. I wonder if he has any of the I don't want to call it infatuational Cowboys franchise, and maybe it's completely fabricated from us living down here, but there is I think a little mystique to the damn Dallas Cowboys and for a guy like him, the opportunity to return us to where we belong, you know, where our fan base believes that we you know, the normal rules don't apply and twelve when seasons aren't to be
celebrated. If you get bounced, how fast could you prove that it was not all Tom. Just in the narratives of dummies. It doesn't matter, but history will still look at no matter what happened, you won without Tom somewhere else and go to a roster that is ready to win games. I don't know that they're ready to win super Bowls, but they're ready to win games. You can't argue that, and that's where you go. Man. And I don't know. It's like, if you lose McCarthy, how much
does that impact Dak. I don't know. I don't think it impacts him too much because Dak's been good before Mike McCarthy was his coach. And I know a lot of people don't want to admit that, but it's true. So I think Belichick here makes more sense than other people. As listen to Kavanar said, I don't think that's what Kavanaugh wants. You know, he wants a young uh you know, kind of a young, more young gun
if we're gonna do it. I also think Kavanaugh fully feels like McCarthy he said, or say, yeah, he probably should be fired for that loss, but we all acknowledged we don't know if it's the right thing to do as well, go it's a risky thing and the next thing could suck, but the roster's ready to win at least ten, eleven, twelve games. I know it's he's kind of the unicorn in the world of NFL coaching,
but I mean, Mike Tomlin has been around forever. He's the most tenured coach in football, right, yeah, and they just keep running him back out there regardless of the outcome of their seasons. Did you see they don't they don't win. I mean, they don't. Press conversation at the end of his press conference, I saw a blurb. Why what was the that Maddy crak me up, please, Maddie and for aj this morning. He'll Maddie, let's uh for you play this Competer we unmute? Its working,
Kevin Ken Is this working many? My competer man? It says it's implying it. So I don't know, Kevin, Okay, whatever the point is he was at the question was like, it wasn't questions, Mike, you have a year left on your contract, and then he said deuces and left and he just did the yep James Harden eye roll and walk off the podium like before the question got finished. I can't help it that, like we're so effan messed up in the head with this what the Cowboys are and how
anyone in the league views them. You know, don't I even talk about him? But it is Mike Tomlin maybe, like you know what I want to change and the big the big job is open or are we just nuts to even think that? I mean, the Pittsburgh Steelers, that's not any step below the Dallas Cowboy or is it perception wise? It is? Is it? I mean they have more titles than the Cowboys, right? Is it tied? Are them in the Patriots than they had four in the seventies
and then one they have five? Yeah, I think they have the same. Yeah, it's forty five. I know, did they win four out of five years? Seers five? Steelers and Patriots have six apiece? Okay, Steelers got Cowboys forty nine? Ers have five. Yeah, I'm telling you, like I the Steelers might well, I don't you know, you can't say it because the ratings and all this stuff that is consistent with the Cowboys have two quarterbacks in my lifetime. I have two coaches in my lifetime,
Bill Cowvern, Mike Tomlin. Yeah, that is weird. Did they go right from Chuck Nole to Cower? I think so. I answered their bit too right. We have coaches for twenty years at a time for them to the seven had a losing record with him as head coach. Yeah, he's incredible from having a rebuild, I guess. But man, so they got one Super Bowl under Cower? Yeah, yes, the it was the one with is it when they beat Seattle in six? I believe the Arizona
one? That's right. I think that was Bruce Springsteen at halftime. That's my memory. They had a bunch of coaches in their first decade basically, can anyone name one? Peter Hines, No, Peter Hinds. I don't know. I don't think I've ever heard of any of these people. Richard three Rivers, you know what? This is their handful of coaches before Chuck Nold, Bill Austen, Mike Nixon, Buddy Parker, Walt Keisling. These are all of my grandpa's drinking buddies. These guys all work at air Tractor.
Joe Bach, Oh, yeah he's good. He was good last night with Troy. That's Buck John Mickelson. And then they Chuck Field's Dad Chuck Nole there forever. Then Bill Cower for a massive chunk my Tom, and that is kind of amazing. Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on. Troy came up. Can I put Can I play something for you guys? Yeah? Man, oh yeah, I assume it works. Maddie,
Let's see if this is up. You're ready. This is from the past, because that sets up here we go lecher Cox of the Eagles, this is from the past, and it was me and Skin on the air. Okay, cast, okay, and it's gonna We're gonna get back to Joe. We go back to Joe and Troy in a minute of the date bletcher Cox of the Eagles one of the best Cox dump it? But Butcher Cox, what are the best tackles? I didn't hear what you missaid, but your cos what do you want me to do? Likes? My what
are you talking? Football? Okay? You made it singular. Fletcher Cox is tough and Troy but now knows how I felt on that fateful day. You're ready last night Monday Night football and Baker trying to step up. Fletcher Cock Cox makes a huge play on him and he did. Joe, You're right, he got hit hard, able to get out. Okay, you left all of them in there, hit hard and get up. Yeah, I love it. Celebrities, they're just like us. It's at least so
quick though. Troy kind of oh yeah, I should probably, and Baker trying to step up. Fletcher cock Cox makes a huge play on him, and he did. Joe, You're right, he got hit hard, able to get out, were able to get up. Troy had a little bit of a sinusy voice last night, But dude, I'll give even the Steelers. They played the Bills pretty tough. Yeah, they gave it to him a little bit. And I was thinking of the Cowboys again, like that's
a team with a beat up backup QBU probably didn't belong playing. Yeah, but Tomlin always has them playing above their heads or above where they should be sure. And they were down what fourteen and nothing like lightning, and they had to toughen up and fight and they hung in there and they were in that game until very late. And it's just the opposite of what happens here. Yeah, complete opposite. Yeah, the Cowboys were the Cadillac that hadn't
had an oil change in ten thousand miles. But they have a brand new air freshener pine tree hanging from the rear view mirror that the owner of it spent more on that than he did, you know, maintaining the engine and a good washing in detail. Huh in this vehicle just got was Steelers showed up in what nineteen seventy four snowplaid F one hundred. Well, I'll say the game was also twenty one bodywork. I think it was twenty one nothing
and Steelers couldn't hold on the ball. The Bills are the clear better team. I think we're now like asking that like weird question, like we're the Cowboys the clear better team? I think they were and they were at the beginning of the year. Where the Cowboys the clear better team than the Packer? What are the Packers go play San Francisco good? I don't think that's gonna happen. I really don't. I think San Francisco is far and away
the best team in football. I even think they're better than Baltimore, who smoked them. I do think that, Like hou s like wonder if like did things even out that quickly as we went on throughout the year, are sting to keep these things going. Are you saying that that that the Cowboys game could have been that weird confluence of one team showing up and having that anomaly of their worst performance of the year arguably, and the other team showing
up and having their best. Yes, and that's all just to do about nothing. Well, I'm saying it's possible, that's a part of it. And if they play that game fifty more times, the Cowboys win it forty nine, which that is a and isn't that a vote for running it back? It is, But I mean, yeah, that's a hell of a jump to make, and there's not much evidence that supports that being that's the thing is, you can't prove that there's no data that can really improve that.
Yes, right, if the Packers go and god forbid, beat San Francisco, I mean, it's San Francisco and the rest. Because one of the four teams of the forty nine ers, the Packers, the Bucks, and the Lions are going to the Super Bowl, and the Cowbys and Eagles are better than those teams for majority of the season. You know, yeah, better Since you're gonna mark Cuban Day at eleven thirty, listen to that but when you listen to the Menskin Show, just listen for little tiny things.
They'll sprinkle in there. I've worked with them long enough to know they're not just gonna come out and tell you what's happening. They will sprinkle things. And Ben kept saying yesterday someone that he knows that's close with decision makers. You know, dan Quinn was the succession plan, and now that's created a bit of turbulence. But like, I think it would have been real easy. If that game was close, then they would have just been like,
man, you had your shot, Mike, here's dan Quinn. Keep in mind, we got to remember what we said three four or five months ago, six months ago, because here's what it was when Kellen Morris pushed out and things removed, and assistant coaches who have been here for a long time, Dug Nusts Myers of the world are pushed out. They're pushed out in the name of this is your chance, Mike, go make it happen. We're giving you the keys. He got the keys, and that happened.
He dropped the keys in the storm grate in the parking lot, so I think he's probably gone. But yeah, let's do that at the top of Oh it's not sports yet, all right, it's the top of seven o'clock because I want to do this every day, because this is gonna change in our heads every day. It's like, what you think is what you think the resolution of this is for the Cowboys? Sure, And like yesterday I was like, you know what sports gun to Monogan, I'm going with
Mike Vrabel. Yeah, And now I don't know if I feel the same way, So I don't know. Artist sports at seven, let's do the daily guess on how this soap opera ends over the next couple months. I get, why do I have a weird feeling that the judges are scrambling to find a black guy to interview to just get the Rooney rule requirement out of the way, like they did when they interviewed Marvin Lewis and then hired Mike McCarthy. They don't like to interview for head coaches either, so it'll be
someone they know or have a good feeling about. So there's that kind of make sure today a lot of stuff, guys. I'm at a bit of a war with the city of More, Oklahoma. More on that at eight, and it does involve Dildo's good big stuff at the Emmy's last night. I guess nine o'clock will review some of that. I can uncross my fingers now for eight o'clock. I just thought other big things happening all around the
Metroplex. We're live, we're local, we're kicking ass. Coming up next though, Hey brother, you get in a car wreck, you do want this guy nearby next? And ninety seven won the Freak
