Happy Wednesday, family friends, all even strangers or the downbeat, and we got a lot of craft today. You're joined by in the studio guest of the nine. I'm sure to promote something awesome that's happening this weekend. You can kind of hang the opportunity to hang with some of us this weekend if you like. We that some big articles about some dudes at the station, Dallas Observer d magazine. Give him some pub I just love that as the

tease. Some big articles, big articles, big articles out there, some of the biggest articles. You have a scene. Who's coming in studios? Is it a star? Nine times bigger than Biden? It's a star? I mean, is it a star? I can answer that question. No, it's not. It's skin excitement levels in here. I did in my email getting a request to have comedian TJ. Miller on the show again and in March. Really and you know what, why not? Yeah? He was so damn affable last time. I think I'm in in studia, I

don't think. So let's take place some of you because Danny was gone when he came and popped in studio. Yeah, regrettably, I missed teach because we had him on the phone. And then two weeks later he's in town. He's just he was and he's just cupping his hands looking through the glass door and waited for us to go to break and then was it was all pumped to come in here and say hi to his friends. Yeah, the frigg is my guys, Like you remember the interview, I think, or

he turns it on all the time. Yeah, that's the trick. Maybe maybe I don't know. He probably remember the name of the freak with only one right, I think I think there's one other one somewhere far away really in the gulag at at polar Wolf facility. Oh, we're on that at eight. Oh. If you don't think we will talk Russian dissidents, its

political murders, it's you're wrong. I don't know that. I can remember watching a documentary on someone from the past that was kind of made for I mean, maybe it was just made to be made like it won this documentary on Hus called Navalni. It won the twenty twenty three Academy Award for Best Documentary. I won the award. Did it win the balloon or maybe I

doubt it because that's given the world's best soccer player every year. You should have won that because the palm de or right, that's the one at Khan given him to the best film Danny. See he's more cultured. I have more you guys, and that's okay. You guys are better at me and stuff. You're better at air tractor knowledge actually not probably not walking in his little guitar. No better everything else. You're kind of an international savant.

Oh, I'm a charlatan. Who I have a little guitar. Yeah, you get a little guitar, and I know where my parents work and there playing your little guitar, and I know where my parents were. So diminishing your little guitar. Let's you go. Oh you guys playing your your little game. That is one of those things you learn as you become a parent. Again, it is weird still that you kind of recalibrate your parenting skills and you you learned that that is that type of language is very diminishing.

Yeah, condescending, condescending yeah, yeah, even to a child, especially to a child. And is it because of the tone, Well, it's just because you're telling them that their feelings, their interests are are smaller than they should feel smaller about the things they're interested in than big people. You are a little rascal, aren't you. But that makes the person saying it

feel better about themselves in their own little existence precisely. Yeah. Oh, it's usually said by people, usually said by people that don't have anything else going on. I have anything big. Oh I see you're doing your little hobby. Yeah. Yeah, you're still playing a little guitar. Yeah. Yeah, you're still doing you guys doing your little your little band thing. Still is that going good? Every family member asking me if I'm still following

my career dreams, you're still doing radio? Your a little radio thing. Radio. It's cute. It's an obsolete medium. That's Cuget point. It's an obsolete medium. I'm contributing to. John Stewart said don Keyxoties of Morning Drive. Oh yeah, come get some. He's expecting a different result. Well, you know, you never know. I mean you kind of know at this point. But but fun fun the uh this nave only documentary though, this guy And if you're if you, if you're listening to you don't

know a thing about this. You probably don't care. So I'm just gonna tell you, but you will care if you if you learn, and you should because this might be eight at eight Yeah, and it might be one of the most important stories in the world literally, like happening with what's going on now in our world globally, this might be like a thing that should be talked about. Oh yeah, I don't. I don't think I've ever watched a documentary that was made. Okay again, I don't know that it

was made for this just has the feelings. Definitely gonna be showing this to you after he's killed by Putin. Yeah, I didn't see it until a day after he had died. Yeah, same because you know, Alexi Navolney will set all this up later. But uh, it's the biggest story. Like you open up your any news site and it's at the top, if

not at the top. And this documentary was made a few years back, two or three years back that kind of covered his poisoning, which is pretty widely known and I knew about it at the time, but I just kind of like anything else that goes on that is connected to Russia that you read it, it's like Putin being Putin or whatever. That didn't really follow up

much. And I honestly I saw the documentary drop sometime last week, and I'm like, man, when when when it was announced that he had died in prison, like it was this had to have been just coincidence that they they drive this at the same time of his death. And I had kind of forgotten about it. And when I saw the almost sound like a real idiot. But when I saw the the icon on the HBO Max app and it said Devolney, I go, I wonder what this movie is about the

Navy in New York. I thought it said Naval New York. That does feel like a CBS, CBS show, the new spring schedule. What what? What controversy is going on in the New York branch of the Navy and the New York Navy. It's coming on Rafter House of Carbs, Face of Carbs, Danger on the Hudson Merge, all the subs. Yeah die. But yeah, I watched that thing and just couldn't believe number one that I'd never heard this. Yeah, I was ignorant to the guy. I didn't

know. Yeah, I was too. I vaguely had seen the name, but I didn't know. But even today that it's on every sight now, it's still a huge thing. But I think for a lot of us, whether it's you're just numb to maybe world news or anything politically based, you're certainly not like locked into Russian politics and you're just like, all right, I don't know what that like you just said to believe you know, it's

bad enough over here. Can you imagine that's sort of what the root is is is the misinformation, And but they go all the way to imprisonment and torture and murder and poisoning in public and hiding poison in your underwear. Just to give a full tease. Yeah, it's an incredible story that just ended this week as the dude was finally finished off by Putin, it's amazing.

If you haven't seen this documentary, I'm telling you collectively, I think all three of us about an hour into it, there is a scene that happens that I but I bet all of us when it went down were like, oh my god, and this made news. And I don't remember the details of this when they were revealed at all, because news gets washed away by more more news. Yeah, to the important news of them stick, Yeah,

get the traction that it should. And the thing I think is so uh fascinating about how all this went down and the fact that that government, that regime can blatantly act this way. I don't think it's any different than other authoritarian countries, but there are you typically much smaller and you know, maybe like in parts of Africa or islands and stuff like that. But this is on the biggest continent, you know, our second biggest continent. This

is this is Russia. This this is a massive, massive country. And the fact that they're able to do this in plain daylight, and there's really nothing you can do because if you do anything, you're you're scared of them pressing the button. And that's what all of this comes down to. If Russia did not have the nuclear capabilities that they do, they would be wiped off the planet by drones and whatever other crap that the US could throw at

them, or any other government for that matter. But we're we we teeter that line where we sit, you know, scared on that fence of well, let's just maybe some sanctions on their only guard send their bank accounts, and there's not too much because we don't want them to blow up the world. And that's what we live under double not the ropes that are mooring their yachts. Yeah, because that's what you know, put in the tailpipe,

banana in your yacht tailpipe. Yeah, that's what. That's how we deal with Russia because we're scared more sanctions and more sanctions, but saying all right, they don't care. Yeah. Fascinating. It is fascinating, And it's also not like, uh, it's it's interesting to it's ninety minutes. It's like an easy watch. I'm not know wheny of you watch it now because we're talking about this, but like it's like also sometimes you get documentaries like

a big agenda based thing like yeah, he had like a side. His side is against Putin, okay, the opposition, but it's also like spy thriller tactics and things like that that you're gonna like enjoy. Yeah, so I know it's important. I meant too. At the end of it, I'm serious and it's like a pe but like I was sitting there like in tears because you're like, oh, that's the last time he's gonna see his family. Kevin. If by P you mean person, yeah, yeah you

did, and you know what, that's okay, thank you. I'm a total P person. Per real person. It's pretty incredible though that the strategy. Putin's strategy is just fear make everybody in the world terrified, how unhinged that we appear live blame yeah, because when does anything he blames it on the CIA is that's the CIA is funding them. They're trying to disrupt Mother

Russia. Like, obviously you're gonna stand with Russia, right the CIA, And then you're like, well, yeah, Russian, I believe the American narrative. Yeah, there it works. There's blood on their hands every day and if you yell about it, you get arrested, sent to the polar Wolf. They have so many cops over there. Do I spent over an hour on the polar Wolf that's the prison who was in? That seems nuts? Okay? I also spent time on just how e f and big Russia

is. Well, I'm not going to ask you to play the family Feud music, but do you guys know the I mean, if you're all morning for it, do you guys know the largest by land countries in the world, Russia by land, Yeah, by size? Brazil? The largest countries in the world is Brazil up there? Long? I don't think Brazil is the biggest country. Okay, you're all you guys are all over the place. Brazil is number five. I would say China, but Brazil is not

long. That's Chile long on. Brazil is just fat, yeah, like a steak. You know. China is also shaped like a steak. And yes, China is number three. India. India's number seven in total land mass and mass. Two percent of the world's land mass is India, China six point three. Russia is eleven percent of the percentage of the world's land mass. It's number one. Yeah, uh yeah. For instance, Russia's is six over six million square miles and that's double, just about double.

The second biggest country in the world. You've got number one, Russia, number three, China, number five, Brazil two and four, and number seven India. North America, Canada. We're losing track here here you Canada, Canada. Let's stick with countries. Canada a number two around a country, North America, the United States, Canada. Canada is gigantoid. All of the big countries are like north Yeah, you don't think of Canada too much, but yeah, Canada the second largest country in the world massive.

United States is number four. You have a lot of snow in darkness. What was three? China, Russia, Canada, Jina, United States, Brazil, and then Australia, Argentina or excuse me, Australia, India, Argentina, Gazighstan really big, yeah, and then Algeria. I like we cracked top ten and growing. I have a loosely related Kazakhstan note at seven and sports at seven tease, weird. And then Mike, you're telling me about some satellites at six thirty. Yeah, that's gonna be the most important

thing in the world' satellite talk. We have them fallen out of the sky. Will they land on your child? Holy crap? Maybe I don't know, but literally this morning, like right about the end of our show, we could have one hundred and fifteen pound satellite falling out of the sky somewhere a piece of the satellite. Yeah that, but the piece was a hundred fifty pounds, the largest piece that could land. Where are we giving all this stuff? We just did the whole eight o'clock and now we're doing the

what else we got? I hope it hits away, up, it hits this building and just finishes off the renovation that they're working on just bam, just leave it, shakes it up. Maybe that's what happened is a smaller piece of the satellite hit the iHeart building. They're making progress though they are. It's quick with a start. Yeah, I have some tickets to give away, guys. You guys want to get guys, give us some tickets.

This morning you got Fleetwood Mac, Fleetwood Mac not quite now been and Skinni'll be giving away some tickets to the Silver Skylarks release party on February twenty third at the Kessler. That's Friday this weekend. Have some college baseball happening at Global Life Field. It's the Shriners Children's College Showdown presented by Kuboda, featuring Arkansas, Oklahoma, State, Michigan, and Danny's Oregon State Beavers. If you want to go see college baseball two and four eight one seven seven

eight seven one nine seven to one. Why do I feel like the life just get out of you? Danny? Would you help your phone answering wrist is loosened up this PA and then get ready for some action once we get past the delay. When you look into the control room, that is not a campfire. That JJ fashioned those are the phones lighting up for college baseball tickets your control rooms of No. At the time, James Garfield was president, Yeah, and electricity was introduting. Whoa on fire? Not on fire?

On fire? Not on fire? What is that? Yeah? Two and four, eight and seven seven eight seven, I got like five pair of tickets to give away. Now I do want to bring back later in the week. Down beat dollars and done that in a while. Hell yeah, jo ys some cash. What's for the listener just wins cash directly from us and we venmo them. Yeah, it's very strange. That's not a gimmicky bit. Huh. You spind the wheel. It's fun. It is

fun. You get like real money, like cash in your bank account in one to three days if you don't mind waiting to save the service fee. I think it's a thing too where where you could it's almost almost unlimited funds that you could win. Oh there was a limit, dude. It's sort of uh because we well we talked about at three spins. So and that's fits fifty is the biggest one hundred and fifteen. Hey for doing nothing. I mean this scrap's already free. Yeah, you can actually profit. I

definitely, you know, hurts my savings account. Okay, we've got colles sore we go? Who we got here? Good morning? Good morning? Hello? What's your name? My name is Darryl. Pretty horny this morning, not so much? What up to man? On the way to work? Where do you work? Work for g and Financial in Arlington? What does that mean? It means we do carloins? Oh really? Okay?

What's a good percentage right now? If you got you know, say you've got a credit score of around eight point fifty and a good history of paying off your off your debts and stuff on time. What rate do you think I could get just off the street with those credentials? And I don't know. I don't deal in the rates. I work in it, so I don't really look at people's I don't look at people's deals. I just work on software. Okay, are you beaten down? Because you sound beaten?

Yeah? I mean he's on his way too, you know. Yeah, you know you got kids and stuff. I have one son who's grown. Really so do I? So? What are you into? Man? Chess? Poker? Sports? Really? You like chess? I do? I actually host a chess club? Really? What's your rating? Crowley Texas Chess Club. Whoa okay, oh yeah, is that monitor lizard a member? Have you seen the lizard running around Crowley's about two and a half feet long, looks like a little dinosaur. Yeah, I've been looking for that lizard.

I haven't found it. I'm pretty sure the Colties have got him. Oh, we've got a lot of Cody's and Crowley a big couple of weeks for coyotes. Yeah. How long do you the same kind they have at the border, but different kid? How long do you think it would take Magnus Carlson to check mate you? I'm probably a minute a minute, but if you play slow. Did you enjoy the Queen's Gambit Wizards? I did watch the show. It was a little cheesy, but you know, okay,

they got they got people into chests, so that's good. Does anyone in your chess club do they use the cheating methods that have been used over the last couple of years in chess? Do you know? Not that I'm aware of. Of course, when they go to the bathroom, I don't follow them. So sure. I just thought Kavanaugh could end up being a pretty good chess player. Really, you know, if you're will end up do that, then, I guess chess means more to you than the destiny.

Yeah, well go ahead, Mike. Have you ever seen that. There's a video, one of my favorite videos online. It's Maurice Ashley, who's a chess Do you know Maurice Ashley. I've heard the name. So he's a I don't know, sort of famous chess player. But he's playing a dude in the park in New York City. One of these dudes who's a sister kind of and he doesn't know who Maurice Ashley is. And Mary's Ashley is a black dude, and he kind of rolls up just looking like

a normal person. And the guy wants to bet, you know, and the guy's talking and the guy plays speech. You know, he's real distracting, and but he's facing Maurice Ashley. He's going to get annihilated. He just doesn't know it. And the guy tries to cheat and it's all on YouTube and Marri's actually real coolly sees him cheat. You know, he doesn't care, he knows he's doing a video, but he sees him cheat.

He's like, I think that was there, no, because the guy like knocks a piece over and then picks it up and puts it back in a different place because he knew he was made it before it you know, it's too late. Look, got Maurice Ashley, New York City trash talker on YouTube. It's a it's a fun video now that you've described it. Yeah, it's cool. What's your favorite video online? Uh, this is a family show, right, We don't know, we don't know. But yeah, no, I watch a lot of chess videos. I watch a lot

of the you know, the streamers that everybody's aware of their chess. Oh yeah, that so it's gonna ask you. There's hot good matters. There's hot chess sisters. Is it? What is it? The boat? There's there's Yeah. The Bowtest Sisters were from Texas. I don't think they're in Texas anymore. They were in Austin Boutest Sisters. Yeah right, yeah, look up the Bowtest gambit. Do you know what the Bowtest gambit is? Now, they invented their own move. They did invent their own moves.

It's where you blunder your queen at the beginning of the game. Have to fight that meaning business here, Daniel. Yeah, they're hot chess players and they on twitch and like they. I don't know. There's a bunch of small community, but of kind of young people making chess kind of cool. It's great games. Chess is in a boom the way poker was, you know in two thousand and three. Yeah, the poker booth. It's done that a little bit for chests, right, it's it's making a big comeback.

Yeah, you want to go watch some college basketball or or something? Absolutely I would. All right, Well, jj'll get your info on hold. You'll get an email from my heart. Yes, that's the night shift we're at. I worked for Happenberg materials in the QC labs. What's the QC and Control? Not Rock and Sime, but it is rock Sian. Oh god, before you've done this before any ladies have heard that in the morning, tinking a glass of whiskey. Hey, yeah, you do. I

haven't talked to you, sir Roy since you were down the doll. We've upgraded, haven't we. Well. And as far as mister Bayliss there, he's one of my aisles. And I ran into him at one of the tickets deals years ago. What were the circumstances around that? You were the hair and I was the hare and you pocket I was hey, And so it was really a nice time. I bet Danny was really excited to meet you and hat with you and learn about you. You never know what he

makes everybody feel special. I don't know if anyone has the look walking into tea stock like like Danny does. Look, it's not what booth you want me? Oh my god, tea Stock, Oh my god, the bane of my existence. She don't have to do that this year. And then at the end of it he has to go and play guitar, help the band learn his stupid song. Play some weird I don't know Paul Simon song that hey uh huh, hey man, what's the best place to eat in

Bridgeport? Bridgeport? Say, Yesterday's Cafe. Yesterday's Caf kind of like an old school diner, greasy spoon. That sounds good, many good crowns food. Yeah. The best thing about it is, though, is they've got different types of things like you can get uh the chicken on rice and everything with the special type and blaze over. It's called the Jane Mansfield. That's one of my favorite. Try trying to stay healthier of old age? Is coffee still ten cents out there? I don't know. I'm not able to

drink coffee. Oh that's too bad. Well what happened? I know I'm called on the doctor said I'm allergic to the magic bean. Oh where his jokes starting in? Because I've got a lot of singers that just told him to flick that magic bean out of his lot. See, I thought of it about probably thought about it, and you actually said it. I'm riding shotgun with this guy and you just screamed the punchline. I know more about Bridgeports than you guys combined. I know more about runaway Baye than you do.

Oh maybe I played a golf tourment there, Mike, did you? Yeah? I don't believe you. Let's just give this guy's tickets. You get out of here. Man, you're a big god, a boy, the boy Homer see a ticket stock you have? What did over the weekend? No, we gotta go, man, All right, all right, j J. Get your info s Downhold buddy, I like that guy.
