You're listening to the downbeat on ninety seven one the freak. The hell's going on in Footworth? Mike, I can't answer that, dude. A lot. Something else happened, something else bad. Maybe Dingood's Morning News will have the answers. We will shed some light on the subject. Yes, there's not more leakage of stuff in Fort Worth causing great harm to people. Yeah, Fort Worth, come on, come on, y'all hold up your end of the deal. Do better for Worth. Yeah, we got Dallas is
tight. Yeah, we never make mistakes over here. We have. By the way, we podcast every single segment we do after the show. So anything you missed from the week, go grab it. iHeartRadio app. You know it's on Spotify, Spreaker, all the other places. Got some news that just came in. So this. We had a discussion earlier in the week about we were talking about Saday Night Live in how Justin Timberlake is gonna be the musical guest tomorrow night on a new episode hosted by Dakota Johnson.
So Justin Timberlake and I was like, Okay, he hasn't released music in like six years, so he's definitely releasing music and yesterday he released a song Selfish, which I'll play a little clip of in a minute. Last popped in plastic instrument concept. Did they put their ds in a box? They put their DS in a box and went and slapped it around Lower east Side? I mean, one of the more memorable SNL's ushered in a new era
of digital shorts for SNL. I thought, yeah, it skits since Saturday on Sorday Live, right, Oh, yeah, you have to, dude, he's good in all of those two. Why didn't they? Old dude, they've got to bring Foulon back in to do Barry GiB talk show. They have to. He works in the building, so surely he'll Yes, Yes, everyone hates Jimmy Pound, one of my favorite sketches of all time, and they have him double dip it. That's interesting. And I thought,
like, who hosted Dakota Johnson? Okay, what she did? What's she into right now? Just kind of being the oh she got a film coming out JJ? All right, she's just being the beautiful daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffin Griffith. That's an offshore power boating World champion Don Johnson. Yes, now justin Timberlake's tour just hit. JJ just told me in the break She's like, his tournois dropped just this morning, and I was like, I knew i'd play in this segment earlier in the week. Great.
He will be Dicky's Arena June fourth. He's announced his tour that probably has a weird name on it, because everyone names their tours. It does so strange to me. What is it? The already Yeah, the Forget Tomorrow World tour. Oh god, I'm just gonna be doing some shows. How about I'm just going to be doing my name world tour. You know, we don't have to name every tour people. Hey, forget Tomorrow? Well, I think he means so you should care about today. Here's a
small clip of his new song that I don't really like. But here's you know, ten seconds of it. Twenty second seven. That's Mark Rugby A I'm pretty sure awesome and I wouldn't be surprised. But they don't know you, baby, I would. This is nothing on the nude in sync song. I like it better now than I did yesterday. Yeah, I don't dislike it when you always stop it. I know I want to hear the whole tune. Yeah, I think you hate it. Eight seconds playing the
whole tune. You have to get to the chorus. You're gonna play a boy band hit, you have to at least give us the chorus. Then play sexy idiot playing a good song. You play six seconds and then stops and complaints the first eight words, no good, not a hit? All right, say it wasn't a hit. It could be. It's still not
be good garbage. Well, I was thinking about all these like boy bands and then they have one guy that broke out, and if you don't care about this, really stick around because Danny is going to light you up with knowledge that I didn't even know about until we're discussing in the break room the other day. I was thinking, in sync is you know probably my era of just being twelve years old and they're huge on TRL and he's the breakout
star. But we've seen it with Mike's guy Juhng Kook from BTS. That's right. Obviously Harry Styles has been a huge breakout from one direction? Is he he's bigger than JT now, like right now? I mean yeah, because he's forty three, you know, like yeah, I mean that's and Harry's you know, late twenties. That's the only reason. But who would listen to someone older than forty three for entertainment purposes? Apparently no one. Mike Danny Baylor, Shit, Mike, don't put thoughts into anyone's head.
Uh yeah. JT's sort of the template for doing it all. And isn't he a good actor? But he just doesn't do that much. I tell you what was his time? Timeless, time Watch, Wristwatch. He was in the hit movie wrist Watch. Okay, I'm on the right track, Alpha Dog, No, okay, he was good wrist He was good in that Timeless, the Facebook movie he was in. You don't remember that one? Where is in the future? Help me? What's the name of it? Timeless with a man of sea Fred? I don't know where. You
had the damn clock on it? So you have this. When the clock runs out on your wrist, that's when you die, so you can acquire and purchase more time and time? Is it in time? That sounds movie he was in, I don't know, that's probably it. No, I'm sure it was Wristwatch. And all the rich people are at their fancy parties and they have like hundreds of thousands of days or hours or million hours on their way, and then the poor people are like, oh my god,
you know you only have aunt of times? Do you steal someone's time? You kind of like a black mirror type. No, absolutely black mirror. And I don't know. I thought it was awesome. Oh he's great. I think I think he's good. I mean the rest movie he's been in his trolls, but all right, great movie. I don't need this. Oh okay, JJ's got it. Okay. So I mean you can't even go back to like New Kids on the Block get a lot of breakout stars from from that band, right, I mean Donnie Wahlberg, who was who
had had the best solo career out of Backstreet Boys. That's a tough one. I would say. You would probably say it was Nick Carter. None of them really, none of them are comparative to to that. Now, look, if you want to go back to the Osmond's and you can. Yeah, if you want to go back to the Jackson five, yeah you absolutely can do that. I think those are a little bit but it's way different, a little bit different. But those were kind of family bands.
They I think they actually were organic. I think those things organically happen when you think of the boy band, right, you think of the concept of a I don't know, some pretty user that kind of fabricates these and gets outsources songs and gets them in a studio and then creates a what's an actual
product to market and sell is on the job. So it is kind of unusual that something that is so fabricated outside of that those confines that you would have any of those members reach like superstar status, you know, like the Harry Styles, JT's of the world, like people like that. It just
seems kind of unlikely that that would happen. But it's sort of a perfect storm because they're they're they're farmed and brought in and the most talented ones are put into this prefab boy band that's designed for, you know, the success that they have. But you are getting talented, good looking people and then they become famous and they're more likely to have their careers catch fire. But I mean, no one would argue that the Harry Styles and Justin Timberlake are
talented cool dudes. Sure, absolutely, So all of this conversation about these boy bands kind of got me thinking, it's like you know a lot of these boy bands in LA. I think a lot of them came from Florida, I believe New York. One direction was a UK Simon cal you know UK. Yeah, he found his guys and groomed him, put it on the X Factor, you know, and they went and won. But he was kind of he kind of discovered them or whatever, right when I never
liked them or whatever. But you know, the Harry Styles story is very interesting to me. And two of those other guys like have a solo career. It's just not as big like JT, who can go b on SNL.
So it got me thinking back. I saw these bands were kind of happening in the early mid two thousands, like that second wave of them, and I was at the time playing in a couple of I don't know, more like indie folk type bands around that era in the mid two thousands, a band called sorta in a band called Sparrows, And you know, I'd
heard about this group. They were not adjacent to what I was doing at all, but there was a little buzz about this band that came out of the DFW area back then, and I did a little internet sleuthing and I was able to find out a little bit more about them. The name of the band was called Loads for You, and it's spelled l O A d Z the number four and the letter you. It's kind of a weird names, like maybe like loads of love, you know, loads of money.
Maybe that's kind of what I'm assuming, but Loads for You it kind of goes along with some of the other weird boy band NAMESC has the N, not I N, it's N and then what was nicolas? Even in music, you know blink one two or you know, there's always bands of numbers in them. Right. So Loads for You was formed, believe it or not, in Uless in two thousand and four. I've never heard of it.
This was a mid Cities group of kids or a young men. These guys were I think largely in their early twenties, formed in Ulyss in two thousand and four, and they were put together by a restaurant tour slash wanna be music producer. Now. This guy owned a string of restaurants back then called Taketo Dreams, and he recruited five young men that he called from a local talent show that was held I think a year before at Hewlen mall.
I hate when he mentions his food on our morning show because I get hungry. Now I'm hungry for Taketo's. Yeah. So the owner of Taketo dreams he wants to be like a music producer and he sees these guys at a talent show and is like, you know what, I'm going to pick the ones that I think are the best. And I've got some songs. I got a buddy that's a songwriter. I'm gonna put them in the studio and
we're gonna make freaking record. Well, he gets them all together, all right, So gets them in a recording studio and they put out this debut EP. It's like six songs, and believe it or not, back then it kind of became a local radio success around these parts on certain stations that would play that type of music. In fact, they played a lot locally
back then in their short career. And believe it or not, an iHeart station at the time sponsored one of their concerts, and we have I was actually able to find the sweeper for a Loads for U concert that happened in Dallas in two thousand and four. JJ, you'll play that all this when station? Hey, this is Nick Kreamer? You remember me? It's h J and Theomproom. It's me Garland Richardson Junior, and I'm CLEF and we're
from Lost. Join us tonight for a special concert at aw Shucks on Lower Greenville, brought to you by Kiss FM, the number one hit music station. Okay, so how do you find that? Did Zach find that? Yeah? I got a little bit of help from I think it was Ao. He turned he's like the gatekeeper of all the archives. So the loads for you? What? Then again? Okay, so the band leader sounds like he's the one doing most of the talking. Is this guy named Nick
Nick Kreamer? Okay, I feel like I remember him. Yeah, a guy named Armando Alvarez. A dude named Garland Richardson Junior. So I guess he's the son of the famous start car racer of the the seventies and early eighties. A kid named h J. And then and then Cliff Cliff. Yeah. Now, I was able to unearth a couple of promo photos of this band, and they they kind of look like what you would expect their
names to represent. Yea, you know, there's there's three of them that are kind of you know, good looking dudes, Nick Kreamer, Garland Richards is really handsome. And then this kid named h J kind of the heart throb, the secret heart throb of the group. And then they have you know, multicultural, So they've got Armando Alvarez, a Hispanic kid, Latino kid with an incredible, beautiful high voice. And then Cliff Cliff's African American
kid. And he's a little bit larger than the rest of them, Okay, wider, wider anyway, So they you know, did some shows, but fame outside of the Metroplex escaped Loads for You, and within sixteen months the members of Loads for You disbanded due to substance abuse. There was some sex scandals, there was a suicide, oh oh god, and a string of low level crimes like car burglaries and loitering. They're spiraling. Yeah, so the band just disappeared. One of the kids, you know, ended
up taking his own life, obviously, the heart throb HJ. Yeah, you know, he couldn't handle the local fame and once it ended, you know, he realized, it's like, this is as good as my life's ever gonna get. So he ended up taking his own life. Rest in
peace. HJ So, after almost twenty years of working as a customer service rep for Alamo Rental car, the band leader, Nick Kreamer, the main guy, at the age of forty three years old, is primed to release his first solo album ever, the first music that any member of Loads for You has released in almost twenty years. So he's got a brand new album out, Nick Kreamer. His album is titled All Petered Out. Now would you say, would you say Nick Kreamer was the one who had the most
talent in the band. Yeah, there's no question. He was definitely the JT the Harry styles of his spokesman when doing interviews and yeah, as you could hear in the sweeper, you know, JJ. Can we play that sweeper one more time? This is Kiss FM from two thousand and four, all the Hits one station. Hey, this is Nick Kreamer. You remember me. It's h Jen and it's me Garland Richardson Junior and I'm CLEP and we're from Join us tonight for a special concert at All Shucks on Lower Greenville,
brought to you by Kiss FM, number one hit music station. Interesting. They played a local Gulf Coast oyster bar yeah, where like there's no room the patios. It's it's always right across the street. Maybe it was, yeah nothing so anyway. Uh. Nick Kreamer, forty three years old, uh, the lead member of Loads for You, has a solo album titled All Petered Out, and we have his debut single right now. It's gonna make it's global debut right here at their original home iHeartRadio on the Freak

Oh hey, girl, you know, there's a lot of things that I want to do to you, but there's even more things that I want you to do to me. So put on that Marvin Gaye record, open up that bottle of yellowtail from seven to eleven, and slide on that snail trail right down the sofa next to me. Because tonight that's sensation in my genes and it's making

I've got some secret times you need to know about. It's a special invitation. You can put away your mace. As long as I've got a face, You've got a place to sit, eat nature. As long as I've got a face, You've got a place to sit. Ouch. This evening didn't go exactly as planned. I'll spend the rest of the night making love to my hands. know about, it's a special invitation. And as long as I got a face, you gotta least to sit. Bitch. There you go. That is phenomenal to a brand new single from a cow Nick Kremer of Loads for You. He is back, He's truly back. You've got a place. I like the title got a place? It through me misleading once you hear the lyrics He's dirty and the new album, All Petered Out comes out in March. Yes, actually the same day as JT's album March fifteenth. That
was rating. I think they're going head to head. Yeah, oh my god, All Petered out by Nick Kreamer. Oh is he playing the hook Line and Sinker next to the Dickie's Arena on the same day as well. You can see him at a Fish City grill. Oh Man, Creamer's back. That's that's a good good thing for all of Yeah, it's a good thing for the metroplex and especially the mid cities. You don't get a lot of good stuff coming out in the mid Cities. Loads for you. Good
job mates. I'm not as sweet that he in the lyrics or in the middle song gave a shout out rip to HJ no his falling band mate. Are you sure that was HJ that he gave a shout out to sound like the late her James. Why do you need to hear it again? Not right now? This morning? Yes morning? He just go ahead and get
