destroyed us, But now I'm gonna ask, how did you? And honestly, if I'm the Packers, I probably don't really want Jordan Love doing this podcast or I don't want you talking about our offense. And if I'm Micah and I'm Mike Zimmer who just got hired and his opening press conferences yesterday, I'm probably not wanting Micah to say anything about our defense on this podcast. They got into like x's and O stuff on this one. I'm not gonna play you that part too much, but uh, here's Micah just kind of
going for it. This is like four minutes into the podcast too with Jordan Love dive into what was your strategy philosophy of how to break down our defense? Yeah, man, I think that the key for us going to the game was we needed to run the ball. Like that was a huge thing. Obviously, we played y'all a year before and I felt like we ran the ball pretty well. So just going to get y'all, Like, I'm not trying to talk, but y y'all linebackers. You know, I think
you had a DV playing linebacker. I don't know, but like that was our goal was to be able to run the ball and it was gonna set everything else up. And obviously I think you'll biggest weapon is y'all pass rush. So great, DB's over there too, but I feel like they relying on the pass rush. Basically said your your linebackers are undersized, and we beat the pass rush by running the ball, right. Yeah, it's funny
to hear him just the way. I don't shouldn't say too much, but your linebackers, I mean, that's interesting, that's valuable, and maybe that's like Micah just being kind of cool and just the being the wrizzler that he is, you know, got that charisma and then just you know what, I will tell this guy. I probably shouldn't, but I will tell him this. Maybe that's what happened with Jordan Love because Jordan Luck didn't want to
say it. Yeah, he's like your linebackers. Yeah, but wow, you know, Jeff's right, like everyone's talking about the four to three, the three four, all that stuff with your new defensive coordinator. And Kavanaugh said this on the Speakeasy couple weeks ago. He's right, the league is you have you have two linebackers and you have five defensive backs. That's how most teams play. That's how the Cowboys play. Zimmer may mix that up,
I guess. And don't you construct your defense to what you have readily available in terms of personnel? Yeah, so we saw Mike Zimber change that under parcels right. Yeah, I mean they the hardcore four to three dude, and and Bill got him to, you know, convinced him that the three four was a better way because of the personnel that they had. So he's he's uh, malleable. I would I would say, depending on who
he's got. The Cowboys tried to have linebackers too. I mean Overshown was their third round pick in the draft and he tours ACL in preseason Layton vander Esh hurts his neck again. Can't fill his hands anymore. You know, you know if you have Overshown in vander Esh, yeah, you've Maybe the Packers game plan is different there, but it's just interesting to hear them say that. quarter or something like that. Okay, shoots a three, then shoots a three from deeper on a heat check. Well, I imagine seeing him up close shooting a three has got to be one of the wildest sites dribbling passing. And you know what, as lanky as he is, they are having trouble blocking him out because you this is going to be this really might be the best thing Yeah, his footwork is incredibly advanced. You say unstoppable. When I think of unstoppable, I think of Shack and his prime yeh.
But his skill set is so vast and the things that he's able to do with that body, with that length. And Devin Harris said it really, he very well said. Last night we were talking about him. He said, yeah, man, this guy is when he gets fully developed, gets a little bit stronger, a little more seasoned, he's going to be a big problem. He was a big problem last night when he's on a miniature restriction and they're not trying to win games, and we all know what's going

I know they'll play it on the Ben and Skin Show from ten to to today, but you know, I thought Kyrie, and you could see it happening. he was like Wemby was affecting shots on the defensive end too. Luke and nearly got tossed and I don't know if they talked about it on TV or not, because Luca got a technical in the first half, and then there was a play where Wesley of the Spurs kind of toned the MAVs mentioned Luca gets up off the bench and walks legit twenty five percent up the baseline when he's not in the game to yell at the ref. Yeah, like what that was that team up? Who was the ton of Gafford? Don't I
think it is Blake Wesley. I think it is okay. He kind of did half of the the Lister blister. Yeah, he did it with one hand. Me going knowing Luke had already got a technical. I'm like, get back because he had, he had gone far enough to where the ref could have gone, get out of dude, you're not in the game right now, right, I mean he could have. It was. It was very interesting. I mean, lucas like, you team me up for crap and that gets that gets a pass? I mean, I think that's me.
The passes aren't happening. Maybe that's why he didn't get teed up because the ref knew that he's got a point. I will I mean, Skin said a week before the trade a couple of days he's like, we'll see what everyone says when this team goes six and oh over the last six yeah, little weirdo. I mean he's we know he's a weirdo. Yeah. So he had like three incredible MAVs predictions over the last week. Like I know, sometimes he knows things and hears whispers
about trade or something like. That's different then basically knowing that they're about to go six and zero, including a win over the Thunder, the best team in the West at the time, Like he kind of knew this was gonna happen. Yes, right now, are you kidding? Now? We're all starting to think, what are they capable of everything? I don't know, yeah, maybe everything? And you're talking about three games together with these cats. Give it time. Wait, wait till the chemistry starts to develop and
and guys get in and know where their positions are. Nowhere to expect the ball from Luca, learn each other's tendencies, get some experience together. If they're this good now, And granted they you know that they didn't really they played the Wizards and the Spurs in two out of those three games, but you can't overlook what they did to Oak City.
