We were at one of my dad's boat races and we're in like a boat house and just not at the race boats, but there's all these other sailboats and boats, spectator boats, and we were just trying to plow them with these with these water balloons and what there's really no victim in a water thing. When you're by the water in boats, the
worst can happen. You get a little wet. What do you think was gonna happen today? So even they're like, yeah, they're trying to like they're encouraging you to hit them. Oh, you can shoot those things forever. Water boons were always fun, always fun, still still fun water balloons, and they always will be living water balloon. Lately we should water balloon. What do you mean we let's go over to Cash's house and just start
telling water balloons in his living room. That'd be fun. This Saturday ruined the Final Four, so we had MAVs and Rangers action last night. Tomorrow, I would like to break the seal on the draft for a minute. I promise it won't be boring, But would y'all be interested in? Like what I kind of think. We've got to pin down what exactly the Cowboys are looking for, and a couple of interesting players and their backgrounds and things like that, M and that. Tomorrow's three weeks from the draft, So

You can kick any scenario third downs and where the defensive tackle lined up left or right, a set like you can just put anything you want instantly. You have a a compilation video. It's great and I'm normally online not a huge fan of the compilation videos. Yeah, me neither. You
want the full experience. I want to have a nice building storyline and not just the compilation VID. But apparently some people love compilation bids because they're always getting pushed on you. You will always going to shove down your throat. Mikey prefers the full thirty seven minute episode of Tonight's Girlfriend the Jeffy. But yes, they have access to an incredible amount of compilation videos. Yes, this is what we're talking about, because Kevin's gonna shot watching somebody to prepare
for the draft tomorrow. We're gonna do that tomorrow, right here on ninety seven, let's talk about Well, boys, you had a nine o'clock tip last night here on the Freak. I did it. I didn't. I went slewed halftime and fell asleep to the quiet, peaceful tones of Chuck Cooperstein
on the radio rap by my bed They do. Yeah, I kind of the same I rocked a good probably four and a half hours of sleep last night, I know, and I wasn't going to I watched the first half and like, you know what, it's about nine thirty, I'm gonna go ahead and just go to bed. And I did, and I saw the remote there, Okay, let's just check in. And then the MAVs started going crazy. In the beginning of the third it was super fun. And then they just tinkled that away and it was close, and then the fourth
quarter just kind of just was what it was. And look, I didn't know that they weren't going to have lively last night. I think that made a huge difference, because what that means is too much Maxie and too much Dwight Powell. Dwight Pile's playing and now it's Maxy right now. What happened? It seems like three years ago he was considered a pretty deadly three point shooter. Now, granted he's still you know, and I guess maybe average to above average defender, HM, but his time on the court, I'm
always just shaking my f and head. And then every once in a while he'll you know, hit a three. That's like, okay, MAVs needed that to stop this run. But it seems like those moments are about one out of every ten games. I think the bottom line is, like MAXI and Dwight should be ten minute max players in the NBA. If that, dude we've had the last five years, I know they're starting or getting twenty
two minutes. And I think just by us getting Gafford in PJ Washington, it shows you, like, oh, maybe those dudes shouldn't have been getting significant minutes for the better part of a decade. Love them both why Paul is one of the most intelligent players in the NBA and Max he's seemingly one of the kindest humans on earth. Because everyone that comes from Wursburg, Germany is a good person. Yes, unless anyone historically is from there. I
don't I have not your grandparents. I've not done the long term research, but what you know your experience in my experiences, yes, kind people come from Wurtzburg, but they they shouldn't be getting more than maybe ten minutes a game, and they wouldn't be. But dude, the issue Derek Lively essentially going to miss the rest of their regular season to like it. Yeah, I don't know if it's official, But yeah, I think so, And
that's not good, that's not the best. Such a such an important important component of what this team's identity has become is you always have either Luca or Kyrie on the court, and you always have either Lively or Danny Gafford on the court at any time unless it's garbage time at the end. And there's another thing that I noticed last night, and maybe you guys have noticed this too. We've been seeing a lot of Hardy and and Kyrie playing together.
I don't want Hardy running the point and Kyrie on the wing in those situations that seems to happen every time those guys are on the floor together. Now, he's just trying to get Hardy involved. I mean, Kyrie's playing off ball a lot now with Lucas. I mean, it's like Kyrie's dominant position now. Its great that that should not even be in question. That if Kyrie is on the floor without Luca, he is running the damn point. He is, he is commanding the offense. Everything goes through him, and
that is not the case. And I saw Hardy, Yeah he made a couple of decent shots, but I also saw him taking some stuff that was ill advised and making decisions that you kind of scratch your head a little bit that you know that Kyrie wouldn't do. But look, the bottom line, this team, the Mavericks, weren't going to win out. That's unrealistic. Right, This is a playoff atmosphere, and every game is like a playoff
for them. Even if they you know, whatever, they end up wherever they land in the playoffs, they're not gonna sweep to through the finals, right, and these all had that vibe and they're playing on the road. That Golden State team had more to play for than Dallas did as far as positioning and getting into the just getting into the playoffs for them at this point, you know, it just it kind of felt like this was going to
be a game that the MAVs might struggle with. And my god, dude, can Golden State play f and defense when they want to or not? Yeah? That was amazing because things that Dallas was able to do pretty easily in during their winning streak or not, you know whatever, they won like twelve out of thirteen or something crazy like that, they those things weren't coming so easily last night because Golden State played like they needed it. Yeah, and we I mean it was weird because Curry was kind of off. He's
five or fifteen in the game. But it was the kind of the Wigan Show and that second unit for Golden State because they went on a run mid to second quarter and then I thought, all right, this will being easy when we can crash and then the MAVs just eradicate whatever, like a thirteen point deficit and they go in halftime tied, and then it kind of happened again at the end of the third quarter, you know, when Golden State goes on another run, and I kind of was when the MAVs backups.
Yeah, your Powell and Kleebo were in But dude, I have this is an acceptable loss. I saw call of that, Like, what do we think? I don't think anyone thought they were just going to run the table and then steamrolling in the playoffs, and you know what, they're still steamrolling. They're still playing great. There's not much shame losing to a fairly desperate Golden State team on the road by four points and being absolutely in it for
pretty much the whole game. So all good. And it was a tough travel schedule like up there for a week, back down to Huges for one game, back up to Golden State, and this is to make up for a lot for the UH there's a game where their assistant coach had died. So they've been back home against Golden State on Thursday and then Atlanta on Friday, the other way around. Oh sorry, Atlanta Thursday, Golden State Friday. And those would be fun because last time we played Atlanta because I could
go, I'm going to one of those two games. And I kind of wanted to go to Atlanta because I'm like, Luca's gonna score fifty. Yeah, because Atlanta just doesn't play defense. And he's still Lucas needs the littlest thing to inspire him. And I guess when he sees Trey Young still he did to Vladi Devauk the other night's Sacramento, you should have picked me. Doesn't Flotty not even work for the team anymore. Yeah, but he was at the game. But Lucas said, with his kid, some guy.
I think it was Sam Ammick. Uh, the athletic is Like, I could believe Vladi Devauk was there, and Lucas said me, neither. I didn't think you'd come so like I don't know, like because he's had to face that and get booed by the crowd for drafting Marvin Bagley. But it's like, that's Luca's nuts. I like that it only takes a little bit. It's very modern to where even if you're the third pick, you have the chip on your shoulder like they passed on me. You mf you Yes,
But let me say this too. We'll go back to Maxie real quick. Dwight Powell is not going to play if live he's there, that Maxie will like Max is getting minutes no matter what. No, yeah, clearly, but Max's worthy of minutes. I'm not d up, Like if you're playing the Clippers, Okay, let's put Maxie on Kawhi, you know, like or Paul George and PJ. Washington will probably have the other one, like he hasked big assignments that he's got to handle on defense. The only
thing that gives me help with Maxie is that he's done it before. I mentioned it every day this week or whatever the last few times we talk MAVs. He's proven that he could kind of suck at the end of the regular season and then turn it on in the playoffs offensively, though you can see the hesitation y in his game, like he he passes now on pretty decent looks that you think that he would have taken, you know, in the
years past. But I don't they need him to score. You know, he was missing little five foot paint, little uncontested jumpies should flop right in and he couldn't make anything last night and they needed that. Forgive me for not knowing this, but you guys said Lively's going to be out for two
weeks. You kind of reset what the hell happened. It's called right knee soreness, but Jason Kidd called it a spring Now Jason Kidd on our show did say that he didn't break his nose when he did, so, you know, but yeah, two weeks could be could be less based on how he feels. Probably more precautionary right now. And this happened against Houston. This is the Houston game. Kind of was it in the second half of
the game. Yeah, And it was pretty quiet. Man. I don't know if I'd it until I looked up and said, why, you know, why isn't he Where is Dwight Powell in? Yeah, which is always something you need to question. Poll love him. He should be the human victory cigar. He's the bobon on this shroster. Though at this point we need White Powell when they call his name at the bench to do like a double take and like what okay, Yeah, now that's kind of what it's
been. That's what we need. A shocked look on his face. Yeah, not know which direction to go to the scorer's table. Uh quick Rangers. They lost five to last night. Heaney, who you can blame for the creed thing if you want. It was actually kind of good, but there was a bad error that happened. So they lose five to two. They play at twelve twenty this afternoon, so get away day? Are they
off tomorrow? Off tomorrow it is? And then seventeen straight games, including a four gamer with the Astros. I believe that we will likely see the MLB debut of twenty twenty first round pick Justin Foscue today. Who can hit? He is so slow and if he's gonna play third base, he might throw the ball not accurately to the first baseman, but he can't hit. He was the fourteenth pick in the twenty twenty draft. And he came as a shortstop but played second base. They worked him at third base last year
and first base in spring training because he's really long term. He's trade bait long term. He is what can we trade in a package for pitching at the deadline. But dude, they're gonna need a little help to get get over the hump here with Josh Young out, so because that could slow the offense down just a little bit. Evan Carter still hasn't I don't know. Did Devin Hark Carter have a hit last night? I don't think he did. Evan Carter still doesn't have a hit this year, but his on base
percentage is like great. I think he had like a three eighty five on base pres he gets on base a ton and he doesn't have any hits. Yeah, another hitless night. So for six, eight eleven for fifteen to start the year, how many walks? Walks for six that's pretty good. Yeah, that's really good. Five runs scored, no hits, He's pretty good. I want to circle back real quick while we have a minute to
talk about Luca. I think that uh, one thing I've noticed about him, and this probably dates back to I don't know, maybe a couple of weeks. And like we always say, winning just breeds a really happy, fun culture. You know what, He's not doing that much anymore. Arguing Really, I'm still saying it to the point of where it is making him not get back down the court in a timely manner, arguing to the point
where it's leading to technicals. I see, I see him jawing with referees a little bit here and there, But it's not as bad as as it has been. He hasn't done it enough to draw the attention of the announcers when when they're playing national games like that used to be a topic of conversation anytime that they would play a national game, that would always come up. I haven't heard that come up in a while. And I do think that last night, even though they lost the game, I think last night secured
that he will be the MVP of the league. I really do secured it. Yes, with that triple double, with that point output, the way he played when he didn't have a lot else around him last night. I mean, him and Kai were just responsible for, you know, seventy five percent of their scoring. But I do I think that he will be the league MVP, I think you will be too. I don't think they want to give it to Jokic again, but he's at fifteen tags too, so
he kind of can't get one right, miss a game. Yeah, whatever the reason, I like it, I just Vegas always knows. And Jokich is minus seven hundred. Yeah, that's like that's a pretty big odds boxing match between a pro and Danny Bayliss, Like minus seven hundred is a very
big favorite, and DONTI just plus five hundred? And I with you, guys, and I think he I think that there's so much evidence that he should, especially when you factor in just how much he handles the ball compared to yeah, compared to Jokic, and he's coming off to another Player of the Month award. I think he might. And frankly, I like that bet at plus five hundred a lot five to one. But I don't know
why those numbers are holding so much. But the truth is, we don't stare at Jokic, I know, and we stare at Luca's true and that everything about that dude looks like in screams MVP, and I hope y'all are right. Yep. They started Golden State last night. Have they They were pretty effective because Luca has been incredible at these kind of semi no look laser beam passes through the lane to find guys and uh for corner threes that the
announcers just like, oh my god, can you believe that pass? They were really good about having active hands last night and knocked a lot of those away. He tried several of those last last night that they did not land. Yeah, you know, it's just another thing that you have to freaking account for with that dude on the court, He's always coming up with something
