There's some talk about him not playing defense very hard in Charlotte, but Charlotte's terrible, So yeah, you maybe don't try as hard as you could, or maybe you just start in a good place. But he played at Prime Prep for dionh Yeah, for a season, and then he played at Frisco lone Star, or he went to Frisco lone Star for a year, but he didn't play there, But then he
went off to Vegas and then he he went to college at Kentucky. But his location on his Twitter page even before he was traded, said Dallas, Okay, he might live here, perfect, so you gonna know where he's going. He's averaging thirteen and five this year, but his three point shooting
is down compared to what it has been. But the point is he can play power forward for you, small forward for you. Derek Jones Junior is now a bench player, which is, hey, that's a good bench player. He's a guy we've enjoyed this year. He's now on the bench, okay, and coming off the bench great. Dwight Powell doesn't have to play as much now that you have Gafford. Gafford who went to Arkansas. And Gafford's a good player too. I think he'll be the backup center. I
think Lively still gets the minutes clearly, but Gafford. This is another like that. Luca likes guys who can run to the rim, jump and dunk it home. How about that? I'll make a great pass to you. And Dwight Powell hasn't been able to do that as much since he tours Achilles. That's not his fault. He tours Achilles. That sucks. But the spring is gone and that's why I haven't seen a lot of Dwight Powle dunks. He's been here forever too. Yeah, and I know on mask fins
are hard on you. He lost his his spring, he lost his trampoline ability. But we don't have anyone who can hit a center rolling into the basket for an easy allau do we I know of a couple guys there, Mike, we do. with these moves. A because it's aggressive and it was time to get aggressive. And if you want to call it desperate, that's fine. But nineteen year old Derek Lively, as a rookie who played one year of college, should not have the weight that he has had, which I would say, defensively is similar to the way that Luca has had on offense. Of hey, man, coordinate everything on defense and like, also you can reduce his
minutes a little bit, and you kind of simplify his job. Because Gafford can do that, you also can MAXI is a productive player, still has been since he came back. That's for sure. He can go to playing fifteen or less minutes a night. And he's getting healthy too. Four or five blocks last night, did he He's so useful, And now you don't like he can be healthy in the playoffs because we're not having to playing thirty
minutes any night because he can't handle it. Probably shouldn't have ever been doing probably, Yeah, I mean the truth is we've had dudes who are probably like role player backups in featured roles here for far too long. Yeah, and this sort of fixes that. I love it. And you know, here another thing on skin that goofy bastard tells you some things if you read
between the lines, or sometimes they'll just come out and say it. He basically said, you know, when the when Kyrie was returning to Brooklyn, I guess maybe we all should have thought this, But he's like, he's gonna hang forty to night and I went on my prize picks and made plays and won money because he scored thirty eight or whatever he scored. this week, and they're three and oh right now. And the one he said yesterday was in a couple of years, Derek Liiveley's gonna be a top five center in the NBA. And I really had never I don't know, man, I had never really thought of that's the trajectory, or what he's shown so far would indicate that that's where we're headed. But I don't know as much as skin does, And to hear that, I'm like, yes, please. The great thing about this is, and I don't know if
they've bolstered their overall defense at all. They're never going to be a great defensive team. They're going to typically try to outscore you. But the thing that I do like is when Lively does have to get rest, there's not a massive drop off, because right now it just seems like there's a drop off to a complete vacancy in that role. It doesn't even exist. And that'll be nice to kind of have some continuity from the five for all forty
eight. Gafford will dunk on your face and so Lively. But you're absolutely right when Lively goes out that play is sort of not on the table anymore, and that is a play that just frees up Luca Ankyrie, but Luca specifically, which will should increase your offensive rebounding rim protection, you know, just having somebody that's six eleven with a big gass wingspan or how tall is Gafford? He's six I think six eleven is yeah number just six' ten
on Wikipedia. But this ain't bad, No, No, they're definitely bad great. I mean, the dream a few days ago was a PJ. Washington. You were talking about it. He was in that dream, guys, and then you got a gas for two and you got it all within
four hours of the trade deadline, pretty and done, pretty creatively. From my understanding, you didn't lose Josh Green or Jaden Hardy, which I know there might be people who are like torn on that, but Josh Green and Jaden Hardy, whether they are long term maps or not, they are assets and they're continuing to evolve and improve. Absolutely, just Green's turning into a guy when needed. And he doesn't have to be that now because PJ.
Washington is here, you know, But Josh Green has become a guy who could play I mean the Mavericks second unit. Now when you could throw out Tim Hardaway Junior Hardy if you're if needed, and Josh Green like now Derek Jones Junior. Now even start throwing off those names, Maxie, then you're like okay, And then Gafford would be a part of that second unit,
and you're like, okay, this is now a deep team. That's unit that you don't immediately just watch your leads hopefully hopefully not watch your leads evapor eight. Yeah, and here's the thing. I like, Now, tomorrow's gonna be a tough one. They got a two o'clock gameing hear it here on the Freak it's Oklahoma City thunder tough one at home. I mean you bolstered, that's what we said, what you needed, and is Grant Williams the only thing they gave up. I mean, Seth Curry's in that deal, but Seth Curry was not playing. I mean it's almost like they signed Seth Curry because Seth Curry lives here and just wants to
live here, and we trade him every time he signs here. But the situational three point need of a three point shot, you know, the other element that's kind of fun. Just this on the game last night. Spencer dinwood he sitting behind Spincher Denwen who plays for the Well did play for the Nets, and he just gets traded to the Raptors. You traded the Raptors. Raptors say, we're good, We're not really trying to win right now, buy him out. And then he's sitting behind the MAVs bitch watching MAVs
and Nicks last night. They're going to sign Spencer Didnwidy and that's awesome. Yeah, I think it's fun too, because now if Kyle he gets hurt, what an insurance clause? And Spincher Dinwiddy has a little more link than Jayde and Hardy. You can play that role. And I look, I'm
all about Jayde Hardy getting more minutes. I want that. But this is this polished playoff team type of move would be oh yeah, they yeah, Spincer team Spitcher Dinwidy yet come and the Lakers are trying to get Spinscher dinwoodie and I think he's gonna choose to come here. It's not official yet or

with what's around him. They try, they consistently try, and honestly, as far as trade deadline stuff goes, that's flawless victory what they pulled yesterday. Love it now. Whether or not it works, who knows. But if Grant Williams is really the dude, I mean, I find I like Grant Williams. He's gonna be forgotten pretty quickly and for the Maverick tenure.
But he's averaging eight point one, which is exactly what he had averaged last year when a couple of percentage numbers are down, but it's not like he's It felt like, wow, Grant Williams is really underperforming and maybe defensively he's not as good as he was last year, but he's kind of been the dude that he is. Yeah. PJ. Washington makes the same amount of money as Grant Wiams. Arguably like a little a little numbers are off there,
but it's very close to the same amount of money. PJ. Washington is a far better player than Grant Williams. And PJ. Washington's coming off the bench getting you fourteen and six. Yeah, and PJ Washington's about to have wide open threes. His three point percentage is way down this year. He's about to have wide open threes like he's never had before in his life. Remember when Dorian Phinney Smith was a bad three point shooter and then he
turned into a great three point shooter because of Luca and Kyrie. This thing is, this thing is ready now. I'm not saying title, but no, this thing is because it was already there with Luca and then whenever you had Kyrie ready to go win a bunch of games. Now balance, I love the playoff type of move.
