MAVs win. Start there and know Luca, which we knew, and we were kind of talking about Luca's lingering quad issue, and the MAVs came out and Kyrie knocks down two threes to start the game, and he went hard all night long. MAVs played really well on the first half. They kind of let the Knicks back into it in the second half, but they walk away with a one twenty eight, one twenty four win. Kyrie Irving puts up forty four points and ten assist and he was f and on forty
four for Kyrie and forty four for the MAVs in the first quarter. They did jump their bones nice and early. But yeah, that the tail was Kyrie and just I don't know, screaming a quick reminder that I'm one of the ten best basketball players in the world, and he really kind of does get overshadowed by Luca. Yeah, you almost need a night like last night to remind you of that. And real quick, can we if we're game,
let's just start hammering the wounded animal theory? Yeah, I mean, if the if the best players off a team bet on that team because everyone else is running to bet on the other team, how on earth you know with this team without Luca suddenly look as good as they did last night? Now, it's an it's an anomaly. I mean, I'm not saying,
you know the team is better with Luke on the floor. No, doubt, but when the Grizzlies whooped us s. Granted, the MAVs sucked, but the Grizzlies lose John Morant and Jared Jackson and they play one of their best games, and then we are, oh my god, no, we just lost a Memphis So now we got to play the piping hot Knicks and know, Luca, oh my god, I'm sure we're screwed. And they go out and just played great, and it's almost they almost collapsed hard in
the fourth quarter. But you know, they had one possession right at the end when it was like a one point game. They missed the three offensive rebound, missed the three offensive rebound. I think there was three or at least two, and they kick it around and Josh Green knocks down the icy three that essentially won the game. The Mavericks had eleven off its rebounds last night against the Knicks, who lead the league and allowing off its rebounds,
so thanks don't allow a lot of off its rebounds. I think you can look at the box score comparisons between the Memphis game and last night and you realize that if you're playing a garbage team, which Memphis is, and you got both of your superstars, you know, buy and large healthy at least in the starting lineup and playing the whole game, big minutes. I think you get that factor of the rest of the team kind of taking the night off. Yeah, because you look at the contributions from the rest of the
team, it was nothing, absolutely nothing. Yeah, and then you look at last night and people were contributing. You had a big night from Josh Green, as you mentioned, and you had a big night from Hardaway too. And I think that when you have your when you're kind of like when you're missing Luke. Yeah, I think it gives that the rest of the guys a heightened awareness to participate. And I think it happens like league wide. I think, yeah, bet on the wounded animal. That's a great
strategy. Yeah. Could you know, like dang, you said this the other day and the most simple analogy. You said this to me out in the hall. If I know that you or Mikey is sick or could not be here, then I will just naturally be more prepared to do more on the show. And when you have a Tuesday night, think about Tim Hardaway's
role. I'm on the bench, just kind of hanging out okay, and I'll get my shots when I get in the game, you know, whereas Luca's not playing tonight, get ready and you have and you're geared up and ready. I just think it makes it. I think it makes the team as a whole more competitive. Yeah, and I'll say it's the MAVs. I don't think thought. I think something happened in the game on Tuesday that made Luca's squad flare up more than more aggressively than it normally does. That's
what I think happen because he was grimacing a little more. He took a knee shot too, and it can be just kind of a bunch of things. A lot of people will be missing work, but we'll be here Mounday morning at six am and then they hit the road. Next week's an interesting week because they've got the Lakers on Wednesday and they have the Warriors on Friday night,
and those are two teams that have really had high expectations. Chris Paul broke his hand out four to six weeks. The Lakers have some inner turmoil going on with their head coach Darvin Ham and getting along with him. And while we're on the Lakers tip, I wanted to throw this out there. Y'all see that NBA is going to be doing a Netflix style quarterback show with basketball No tell me yes. So they're going to do a I don't think they've named it yet, but it is a NBA focused show. They're going to

Anthony Edwards of the t Wolves, who is fairly an amazing juggernaut of personality, like he's so good, Lebron James really, Jason Tatum and there's always a wild guard, kind of the Mariota of this one, Demontas Sabonis of the Kings. is fun. Baseball's missing out on this a sport that has the needed struggling dude follow the life of a baseball playeray, and it's kind of interesting. So they need to get on this. This is Lebron's going to be a producer of the show. Peyton Manning will co produce, you know, because he had the you know, he produced the Netflix series. So kind of great. I don't know when this is coming out of it that they even even declined this, and Shams Sharnia reported that first, so Netflix seemed to
decline on it. So we don't even know when it's gonna happen. But but is it. They're shooting it this season. I love this. I love it. I want all of it. Keep doing it and if you don't want to watch it, you don't have to. But it's just delicious. Quarterback was great and NBA is great for this. I wonder what the
hell their lives are really like and all the behind the scenes stuff.
