Why didn't they say serpents. That's a cooler word than ballad

of songbirds and the ballad of songbirds and snakes. Now you may give me second guess the ballots for your shortcoming. Snakes is one syllable. It would have been awkward to do songbirds and serpents. It's songbirds and snakes. It sounds more I don't know, definitive finality, finality to that ender the Hunger Games Ballad of songbirds and I don't know snakes snake. Yeah, okay, so you've seen that. I'm excited to hear a review of that. We

And he told me how excited you were to see Napoleon. And then I got the email and I was like, oh my god, it's perfect. It's at noon, right after our show. I'm going to a vice Roy. What do you do politely to Kline? And what do you have better going on that you couldn't go with JJ? New Call of Duty and a nap with Simon. He slept with

his dog and played Atari, My New Atari. You could have gone to a fun movie with sweet JJ. It did cross my mind while I knew you were in the movie. I'm like, I should have done that. Yeah, but then I killed a team with a sniper. I could have waited. I'm just saying new Map it's pretty fun, by the way, the new one. Yeah, I know you guys don't care. I like it. Yeah, I like watching you play. When i've seen you, I loved it. Kill that one guy, Get that guy, Get the

guy. Are you buzz Rain Basa Rains? All right? No, what's it called? You just mixed up Bahrain and which I've been to and Masa al Mazra al Mazra, Baza Rain Bazain absolutely sounds like Call of Duty four. Yeah, whatever, though, welcome to Bazza Rain. You're in it now. I used to play Zombies all the time. Okay, I just played the new Zombies, but I don't like the new like I played. It was the Black Ops two I think where it was like the farm.

Oh man, it's getting very complex now. Yeah, I used to tear it. Oh man, they have a zombie mo Danny as you would get. It's just waves of zombies. You have two partners, waste them. Yeah, yeah, you waste hundreds and hundreds of them, but they eventually get your ass if you don't hit your x fil Are there storylines? Oh, there's a campaign mode. Yeah, there's all this. I mean, there's story These games are so good Now there's storylines within game modes, like

even the zombie has a storyline. It's not a campaign like where you're going to complete I guess, I don't know. It's hard to explain, but

yes, there's storylines. And you're in this huge, beautiful world and there's the gray zone and the yellow zone and the orange zone, and if you get to the damn orange zone and you don't have some firepower, you are dying almost instantly, and they come at you quick, I bet from every Yes, dude, I should almost record some of the audio because I think one of the parts of the game is you'll hear the one that's closest to you, because I'll be looking this way and there's forty zombies and you don't

think of the one coming up behind you. And then once you hear, dude, you're pretty close. Yeah. I don't know if there are clickers or yes. And then you have to whip around a shotgun. Do you like jump and get scared to play with the lights off playing that game? There's no jump scares that I've had yet. Really, it just sets the scene for me. When you're playing with the lights off playing That's how I would up on you whoa, yeah, because Medal of Honor. The last

game I played in I don't know the year two thousand. On PS one, you're basically fighting Nazi Germany by and large at night, and so it was always cool to turn the lights all the way off and yeah, he's creepy. Your rifle with your scoop and he's right up there at the top of that building in France. I'm going to take him out of and it hits him on the hell and dang, and he gets mad. He's got machine him and all his friends now know where. Oh yeah, yeah,

you've giving up your position. It's really fun. Keeps getting better. I agree. I had other distractions or I probably would have evolved right along with everybody else with the gaming world that I quit back, let's cat you back. I mean, hell, there's a learning curve, dude, I know, but it's only like a few days before you get the basics down and then you're like having fun. It's like one day of really sucking. Yeah. Yeah, It's far easier than learning how to snowboard or golf, where

you have to dedicate months or at least days of failure. It's really fun. I'd love to get a new console, a new system. Can you just get like a box and plug it into your TV like in the old days. So you've got to be online and you got to play with friends. Can you just play the damn computing? I don't want to meet anybody. I don't want to twelve year old kid cursing at me to call you the the F word, yeah, or the nword. Trust me, it's bad. You are terrible. Oh those kids are terrible. Yeah, they

have, they have, they're really bad. And you know they're like little ten twelve year olds. Hear their high pitched voice who are probably playing in their basement of their parents' house, so they they're parents can't hear them because if their parents tell you all kinds of things and then you come at them and then you get you get banned. Yeah, she's not wrong. There's a thing called proximity chat. Is that why person keeps getting kicked off?

Yeah? Because there's language proximity. What proximity chat? So if like, if I'm in a building hiding and there's another team, you can you won't. You can hear their footsteps, maybe you hear the door open. Then once they get close enough you can hear them talking to each other. It's really kind of cool. It's just like real life. You'd hear someone talking if they were in the same next room over, you know, like that.

But then when you kill them, there's still proximity chat and they yell some incredible creative I will say, I think the bit is to yell the It's almost a bit to yell the worst possible things you can think of. Like, I don't know that that's language that they I don't, I really don't. I'm not an excuse for people who say the wildest I've ever heard, but they go to a few words that are just shocking. I bet

there's some good screenshots of creative cussing and call of duty. Yeah. When I play with Michael, my pastor friend, Oh yeah, we don't drop any of that stuff. But when we beat someone, some kid who's clearly wound up, we tell them that our collective age is nearly one hundred. We let them know they just lost the two fifty year old love it. Yeah, And then the last thing you hear is like what, and then they get cut off. Anyway, I don't know what we're doing. That's

good stuff. We have good stuff all morning long till ten o'clock and then good stuff on bend and skin until two, and then the speakes. He always has good stuff. I know they had a blast last night at Alamo Draft House for their big Let's Freak and Chill movie night at the Cedars location. Nothing better than Alamo Draft House. But it's time now talk a little

sports because it's seven o'clock. Yes, good Man, now Sports at seven fourty seven coincidentally brought to you today by Soroy Industries Box of Noodles for Meat. If money is tight and the skyrocketing prices of Hamburger helper aren't part of your fixed budget or the loose change you found in your couch, just quiet isn't enough for even Panburger partner. Okay, well, then maybe it's time

you checked out Soroy Industries Box of Noodles for Meat. It's hard to notice on the supermarket shelf as it's packed in an unmarked plastic bag, so keep your eyes peeled. Soroy Industries Box of Noodles for Meat has almost flavor packets that taste pretty good only if you hold your nose. But hey, what do you want for twenty nine cents box of noodles for meat. Jesus Christ, you're poor. It comes in an unmarked plastic bag, unmarked. H

to take a step down from pamburger partner. God, that's amazing. Yeah, you're real poor if you're having to buy Story Industries box of noodles almost flavor packet, four meat meats, all separately. Of course, always let's get some sporty sport around. We'll do I guess Cowboys in a second. I want to start with MAVs. They put a pretty good thumping on the I mean they lost the fourth quarter to make the score sound I guess closer.

If one thirty to one seventeen sounds close. Washington Wizards where the foe last night, and they are not a very good team. They're two and nine on the year. That is nearly a polar opposite of your nine and three Dallas Mavericks five and two on the road. But yeah, man, just another thump in their offense. Just cooks when they wanted to. Lucas incredible. I still love the evolution of Derek Lively, Who's was that another

career high seventeen points? Because I thinkhen we had sixteen or no maybe at eighteen a few weeks ago, whatever, seventeen and nine always look at his boards too, are pretty damned important. Man. He is continuing to evolve into more than I think we expected that throughout the season. Yeah, seventeen is a career high in grieve because he had fifteen and fourteen against Charlotte that one game, and sixteen in the season open. But anyway, seventeen points

career high. And the dude just you can just tell he's everything that Luca wants. I'm a pick and roll and the big man it can flush it. I love how they're coming together. You get the feeling that what you're seeing when you see games like last night where he does go seventeen to nine,

seven for eight. Yeah, now great, those are high percentage shots in most cases, but oh in all cases, you get you get the feeling that that's kind of gonna be right around his baseline when he fully emerges, evolves, whatever is what he's fully realized, that's kind of gonna be his baseline is twenty a twenty ten. Guy, Yeah, I think so, I really do. I think you're I haven't seen that here, man.

Yeah, guy, that can not only clean up, but is a viable option in the paint a seven foot one, twenty ten dude, and that's pretty much exactly what the doctor ordered coming off the last season. So yeah, he was great, But I mean Lucas always the star, although Tim Hardaway was pretty much the star of this game. That dude is playing really well early in the season seven for eleven from the Arc and he I don't even remember him missing, so I guess he did. But uh,

yeah, he played great. Another good Winter Fighting maps. Tell me what you know about Derek Jones Junior. I know he will throw down dunk on your head because he had a filthy one last night. I don't know all that much. He was one of the not sexiest acquisitions, I suppose, and he's never scored double digits in a game. But I don't know if he's a defensive specialist or what, but yeah, he's He's got some highlight

plays and seems to be blending in real nice as well. That was a fun little bunch they had out there last night, and was during the game because I was back and forth on getting kicked off of illegal streaming platforms and I finally locked in on one that had the local the local broadcast, and they were talking about how the MAVs have, you know, kind of adapted to more of a quicker pace and pushing the ball and running a little bit

more, a little more transition basketball. And a kid made an interesting point in this little clip, the little package that they put together, very very short thing, but he talked about how this is going to help Luca rather than when Luca. Because Luca's incredible, an incredible defensive rebounder, his nose for the ball, his instincts of knowing where the ball is going to be, he just ends up finding himself in places that aren't typical for a point

guard to get the ball. And plus his body size helps him as well. But you know, normally we would see Luca get a rebound and bring the ball up and he's got guys hanging all over him and he's getting double

teamed and he's getting trapped. Now you're seeing Luca rebound the ball and push it up immediately like look to pass first to find an open guy, and that that quickens the pace of your offense number one, because you're getting it in to the front court at a much you know, you're saving yourself three

or four seconds right there, and he's not. I think it's gonna help his longevity in the season to not be so exhausted by having to carry dudes up up the court with him for you know, thirty two minutes a game. Yeah. Well, and among the things that he's probably the best in the league at is the full court pass to a streaking dude, Like he

can speed it up in transition as good as anyone. He did it with Lively once and Lively shocked to catch the ball like under the basket, and he had to kick it out to Tim Hardaway, who knocked down like an easy three. I saw that. It's great, But if Luca wants to, he can throw these dimes from anywhere. It's really surprising. No, it's not. He's so accurate it. The biggest surprise to me is to see the ranking of the MAVs in the NBA in pace and I think they're

like six in the league. Yeah, which historically since Luca got here, they've been near or at the bottom. Yeah. They play slow, Yeah, traditionally with him. Follow Ull said that last night, which is interesting. He's like, and it's something we've known for a while, but he's like, you know, you always talk about zero to sixty, how quick someone can go zero to sixty, and no one talks about how quickly Luca can go sixty or sixty to zero, you know, and it's using his

body and slowing things down. I don't know. He's kind of thing he does is beautiful. It's kind of like a rope adope boxing match with him, Like he will just lull you into this just kind of slow slow bang it out, and then he'll do this just wild ass slithery, squirrely move that if you see him for the first time, you'll think he's the luckiest player that's ever held a basketball. But the sample size is so large on this dude that this is what you get night in and night out with him.

It ain't fluke. It ain't an accident that he plays the way he does and makes things work the way he does because he practices this stuff and he's really good at slow in the pace. But I do like up tempo mavericks man, I really do real one thing real quick. On Luca pa He talked about the condition of the courts because the courts are different now for these for this end season tournament, and he had some pretty inflammatory quotes about

the state of these courts. So when they lost in Denver on November third, Luca committed nine turnovers and was quoted after the game is calling the court weird, and then he added that the color schemes would take getting used to now. On Tuesday against the Pelicans, when the Mavericks just collectively doukied the bed, he had sixteen points, he was five to sixteen shooting, and had eight turnovers, and he said that the colors on the court were only

part of more concerning issues. And here's this quote. He said, I mean, outside all the colors, the court today was really bad. It was really slippery, and then some places the ball didn't even didn't really bounce. So, you know, if we're going to have these courts, we've got to make sure that it's a stable court so you can play on it. Like in Dallas, you know, it wasn't stable, so we had

to change it. Last Friday, the Mavericks hosted the Clippers and the only home n season tournament game Dallas has played to date, and hours before the game, the NBA announced that a special made court that was supposed to be used was unplayable because of a manufacturing issue. When it was pointed out that he went down at least twice during the first six minutes of Tuesday's game, Daunchett said it was a little slippery, especially the paint area was slippery.

Now they're not using these, you know, these courts as excuses for bad play. And I think that you could have played that Tuesday night game against the Pelicans anywhere and the Pelicans are going to absolutely smear Dallas. But I think it's somewhat concerning. How how would the floor be slippery and the ball not bounce properly? You know, yeah, I'd like you the league knows

what it's doing. We're gonna do that. We're trying to sell this thing, and fine to make it look different cool, like a lot of people mix up how their court looks. I like that. Keep it fresh. Which, by the way, I am what year will the first all digital NBA court appear where it's just blank, no where the court is is a digital blore and it looks like a perfect basketball court and then in breaks they

can turn it to whatever they want. Probably some years away. Maybe I don't know, but I guess maybe it will be years because it can't perfect this. You can't perfect putting blue paint on it and not having it be slippery and actually having an effect play and then be deemed by the league unsafe. I don't know how that happens, Like you knew you were going to do this bit. Yeah, very strange. All right, Well, the Mas are off for a couple of days. They're at Milwaukee, so we

get some yannish in the next game. Kyrie missed last night with a foot injury. I don't know how serious it is. Hopefully he's back back in that game on Saturday night. We're kind out of time. I almost cowboys want to do? We wanted you carry it over because I want to talk about this as well. Three cowboy items. Do you want to scut that we got next to the butt? Got the butt? We can do a

sports butt. No, I don't want to do a sports butt about well actually, and I have an f one thing in scuttle butt, So do sports butt? All right? Sports butt coming up next? Sports butt? Uh? And I have other things too. We know who's hosting the Oscars now JJ. I have to know what JJ's Oscar watching festivities are. Don't you kind of wonder does she have a big party and should we throw a

big jj oscar party. Also, you will believe what the world famous chicken ranch in Vegas is offering f one drivers who are in town for the race. That is all, yeah, that's all. Next that ninety seven to one La Frique
