It's the downbeat on ninety seven one the free All right, it's cyber attack Thursday, as we uh try to figure out what happened to these phones? What happened? Oh? No, big reports throughout the land that a lot of the big carriers AT and T, T Mobile, verizone sprinking a lot of issues and a lot of outages. We tried to pop on a couple of collars in the last segment. Oh, we had no luck. Let's try it again. Let's keep it going, just to see it because we
have to keep keep this up to date throughout the day. Let's take a shot here. Hello, you're on ninety seven to one the Freak. Hey, what's up? Oh, yes, thank you. That sounds like Mike and Grapevine to me. That's right, boys, what's going on? Guys there? He is Mike. What's your cell phone carrier? Verizon? Sir? Okay, and you're working properly? All good? Yeah, all good man. I've been a word since four point thirties, so yeah, we're all good. I can hear you guys loud or clear? All right,
no issues there. Maybe we need to find an AT and T person because Mike had the SOS me and Danny have Verizon, have had nothing on our phone. Well I still have so os but I just got a text from Christina. Yeah she's up. Well Mike, thank you, thank you for what you're doing, and keep spreading the positive energy and vibes the way you always do. My man. I will guys, Hey, I'll see all tomorrow night the Kessler All right, tomorrow night at the Silver Skylark single release
party. Right, that is correct. I'm gonna be there if you wanna, if you want to get to know me, and you don't all about me promote anything that he's dropping like a whole launch party thing. We replayed the Rants and Meat song. What more do you want from me? Is that gonna be on the new album? It's a mistake to not have it on the album. Someone just text us no candy, no candy, just ground beef in all caps, and he said, it's not on a loop
in my brain. I hate you. I will stop. We should play it a few times this morning, just see if we can implant that deep no candy. I want to see people at the water cooler today, just humming that while just ground beef, what are you singing? Burn this into your damn head. What are you singing? Nate? I can see you creeping up the driveway in your little costume, hoping for some candy. You will be surprised when you say trick coort eat when you receive a pound of
rancid meat. Matete. I forgot to go down to wall Greens to purchase a me candy for all of the eldred I began to pan nick way and I heard the door bell chime. So ground b for you weeks beyond this prime, No candy, no candy, just ground beef, no can, no candy, just ground beef. Happy Halloween, Happy Halloween. One and haul. We had another caller and to give a shot weeks beyond it's pride. Let's say if we get someone that's not forgot to go down to Walgreens.
The Walgreens like a block from my house. It's beautiful. Hi. What's your name? Eric? Eric? Name your cell phone? Carrid? What's up at? And T is working for you? Now? Do you have the little S O S thing in your phone? Or I do not? Man? I got I got a little five G thing on my phone. There is Hi, g Eric, where are you at? Are you Dallas. Where are you at Collyville. I'll hear in the lovely suburb of Collville a question about Collieville. What the hell is going on out there?
Where is Colleyville? Yeah, explain Calaville to people that don't really know. Coliville is our own little secret that we talk away in between Dallas and Fort Worth, just north of Arlington. We all we actually got on the news for the wrong reasons whenever they had that Jewish synagogue get taken over ye situation. I will say, Okay, So Colinville is kind of between like one fourteen to the west of that. Is that correct? Uh? Yeah,
well one fourteen is north of it. Yeah. One twenty one kind of runs down just to the just to the east of it, yes, and then one eighty three over one twenty one bends around and meets with one A Thris that's to the south of it, So you're kind of in between those those three highways. I spent a little time out there. There was a band that I played with a number of years back, and we had a guy lived out there and he had a rehearsal studio out there, and I
loved that area. It's still got like a. It's obviously a suburb of the Metroplex, but it's still got such a gosh, what's the word for it. It's got a country feel to it. Still a lot of open space still in Collieville, right, do you kind of have the that's kind of your your property like that somewhat. I'm on half an acre and it's awesome. Yes. Are you over there on Glade? Were you a north of I'm off of Hal Johnson. You know about Hal Johnson, Mike,
you have there by that black Walnut cafe? I am actually, oh yeah, what you're looking at on your computer, mikey not he's looking at down detector to find out what's going on with these outages. Yeah, yeah, he's looking at down techer. Yeah. But yeah, Collieville is an undervalued part or under unknown undervalued part of the metroplex. But if you know, you know right, we like to keep it that way, man, go ahead. A lot of Rangers live out there, right, Uh, they
live a little bit further north along in South Lake. Like Shinsu Chu was up in the South Flake area. We used to play baseball up there with his kids. So they used to put like on the on the jumbo tron. Remember it's growing up. It's the first thing I think of when I think of Collieville is they would always put like like where they're like residents, Like here's their batting average and hyhe and wait, and they put residents. Weird. They don't really do that anymore, but like in the nineties,
the kid growing up and as like, oh, rafay up. Palmer lives in Collieville. Yeah, as close as Collieville is to the major you know arteries that run through the metroplex. Man, if you get in there, it takes a long time to get to a major freeway. Yeah, you can feel kind of isolated out there. It's kind of great. That's Corey Seeger loved that, you know, because I'm just looking at a big map, believe or not. I'm looking at a map of the metroplex and there's
like these squares that are furthest away from highways. Like you were just saying, the arteries, and you're right, the biggest one in the whole metroplex does contain Colleyville and Keller essentially, And that's interesting. The Keller Man Keller, Keller and northwards. Some hills will take you twenty minutes to get to a highway. Did you ever go to the fucky Baja over there in Keller?
I did not. I feel like I missed out, though, you missed on the one of the best margaritas you'll ever have in the metroplex. Well we should go, dude, Yeah, dude, you know what I'm gonna go right now. Why don't you go at ten? That'd be good content. Hang out with the listener's content. It's you know, job description, customer service. I think that's good. All right, Well, well, I appreciate you boys. I appreciate your service. I watch my language.
You kick butt in the mornings. I love it. Thank you for everything you do and make a smile. How about that. I'm gonna drop it's nice as hell. Thanks. What a nice guy. A good day, brother, What a nice man, Eric, nice man from Collieville. There's good people in Collieville. Kevin good good good good at and T guy good. Now, we just need a T mobile person. This gives us hope. We need a T Mobile person to complete the Holy Triumvirate. Should I call who are you gonna call? A right? S O? S.
I mean I'm the one. Yeah, you're the one. Who Yeah, you're the potential. You might be patient zero. Dude, what if I am? I don't call it called the free Calne. She answers. They didn't answer the hot line the other day when I was calling Christina to say stop calling Ron Gilligan. See it's not can you put it on? Not? Okay? So maybe no outgoing calls. Mike, he's dead. Now? Is your phone so Dallas or is it Sarasota Florida? What t
when you need the service Driversota to go to phone doctor? Okay, so it's not work, so you're dead? What called Danny? Man? These outages are nuts. But well you sent a picture to us and it worked fine. Just ground beef. Okay, there may be a different Are you the branch of service that you know handles? I'm getting no phone call from nothing but nothing. We hit, we hit the speaker button. Mike on your on your is it ring? It's not even ring? Okay, Mike's
down. Okay, but you can but you're getting Maybe the SMS technology is independent of the the actual cellular phone calls. I don't I don't know anything about that. If somebody knew that there has a working phone, they could tell us. Someone said, AT and T has about two hundred and twenty million users, so this is impacting about point zero two percent of their customers, which, Mike, that means that you could win the lottery if you
think about it, one point h two percent. The special one let's go ahead and do this right now is seventeen minutes to lock my boost infinite and white, Right, no issues? Good? Okay, this guy, my Verizon personal phone works, but my att work phone not gonna Sport report. Fantastic? Is this sport report? Yeah? Instead of supports at seven. My advice to most people today, your phone's is a chance. Your phone's not gonna work. You probably just stay home, Yeah, call in,
turn on your radio. You got a real radio home, Just turn on your radio, lounge around, getting close to it. And if the here's the thing, if your employer is like, where are you, Randy? I never got the call, bro, Sorry, Well it went to voicemail. You know, it rang about six times, went to boy. Yeah, I never got a call. I couldn't reach out my phone did. This is a wonderful excuse to take the damn day off and just listen to the damn radio. A lot of people use their alarm clock on their phone.
Look, it just didn't work. That's still gonna work. Randy knows his schedule, he knows he's supposed to be at work. It's not like they call Randy. Well, do know something happened with Randy that he needed to let them know he was maybe not coming in that day or something. Nah, it's just a way to like just f the day off. I'm going to restart my phone. Yeah, turn it off and all the way back on. Well, my kid, does that? Stay tuned, everybody.
I'm restarting my phone tonight on the freaka and the early start. Christina would be so happy right now watching you peering through your your readers that are down on your nose, and it's a picture of her on the thing, and you're trying to figure out how to restart your phone. Start it? How do I stop it? She loves my failures. I had to do a I put some gravel on my little driveway the other day, big job,
and she missed it. And it's her dream to see me dragging pea gravel out of the back of the jeep and cutting It's just a project that she would have loved. She loves when I have to do things frustrating work, Yeah, she loves. Like what does she like seeing you frustrated? That's see a thief, Yes, because she knows I want to be chilling doing not a whole lot, but sometimes life makes you do little jobs. And the thing is, I put the pea gravel down because I have a
jeep. It's it's high enough up. Her car was kind of scraping my sidewalk when you pull on my drive. You did this for her. I did it for her. Yeah, and she's just gonna laugh at you. Yes, where you're out there struggling with a twenty five pounds bag of grab and I like squatting down getting under the bag, and she answered, and kind of slipping down and your butt crack sticking out, like wiping with my sleeve. That sounds exactly like love, Honestly it does. If I bust
out a ladder, she gets a lawn chair. Ladder goes up, pants go down. At six o'clock to the night, we have a pregame show. At six thirty we have maybe the most exciting MAVs game of the year. The rivals are in town. The Phoenix Suns a t and T nationally broadcasted game tonight. I love it, six thirty, start nice and early. Hopefully we're packed at the AAC. Is the MAVs who won six straight to close out the first half, and it's on Big Test tonight with Phoenix
Benskin Show had Derek Lively on yesterday and Man, pretty great. I'm gonna start with this one. When they just asked, Hey, man, what do you think about Kyrie as a person? Describe Kyrie Irving as a person one of the most caring, self aware, drop and attend to people are person I've ever met. You can always tell if you're having a good day, a bad day, if thinking about something, if you're in your head, if there's problems on the court, problems off the court. He's always
a person to notice and perceive things that you don't have to say. So he's always someone He's probably gonna be the first person to ask you what's actually wrong instead of just saying how are you? So you know that's having a event like that is amazing because I have somebody who has been through any up and down, who has been through the top and has been right in the same position I am. You know, he went to Duke, he came out of Duke, he got drafted way higher than me, and he had
won championships. Like, that's somebody who I could always go to if I have a problem, if I have a question. I love hearing that because I do get the perception that Kyrie is kind of the den mother of that locker room in a way that he he's like the guy that will go up to you and go, man, you look at a little upset. What what's going on? Baby? You want to talk about it? You know
what I'm saying. Like he's he's got that that kind of he seems like he's probably the most emotionally mature person on that team, and you need that. He's the leader sometimes not a quiet I don't mean to imply a quiet leader, but quieter than some and some that probably yell and do this, do this. He leaves by example, I think, and I think if you're around a dude like that, you're like, I want to be more
like that. Everything about him is cool. Of all the negative things that were thrown out there about Kyrie Irving before, the only thing I have won. The only thing is that you might miss some time because of injuries. Okay, but those are all like legit injuries. Yeah, those things. You don't even hold that against him at all. Yeah, those things are out of his control, you know. But the the scouting report that we got that the world kind of had on him had nothing to do with basketball.
Yeah, there was about emotional stuff, maybe choices and things that he said or tweeted or whatever. I mean, we have not seen a shred of evidence of any of that stuff. Since he's been here. He's been nothing but incrediberfect. Yeah. I said this last week and I'm saying it again just because maybe some people weren't listening last week, but because Mike, you've saw this a couple weeks ago too, at the game against the Spurs a couple weeks ago, and Kyrie gets them back in the game with a
huge run. Derek Clively had a lot to do with that, with his energy and defense in his first game back, and Kyrie makes a beautiful little finger roll and all of the MAVs, Bitch was the happiest I've seen them in person in a long time. And then all doing that making the finger roll emotion, you know, the kind of the backhand up in the air, and then like just running to him during a TV time out, you know, like you know, somebody's like, oh hey, wait till the
guy gets in the minch. They're like going out to half court, you know what. That happens a lot in the NBA. But it's just like seeing this, like, dude, they do love this and he's awesome and you get him healthy. This team is serious and I don't win tonight. You know, Sons are tough, but this thing's on what's the point spread an idea? October? I don't know MAVs Sons tonight. You know what? I downloaded a news Why did you just say the name of a month?
Uh, it's just a little funny bit. My funny to me? Who I'm my second Danny's question. It's a from Billy Madison when they go what's today and Norm McDonald goes October because it's newdi magazine day. It's a placeholder answers that the answer to two and a half maths or two and a half point five? Sorry I asked. He's one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. I loaded the Apple Sports app yesterday. They are onto it, getting rid of my old sports app. Really what Apple
Sports app is amazing? Recors, box scores, everything, live scores, live scores. What do I look up Apple Sports app? Yeah? How'd you figure that one out? That's my phone kicked back in. I'll do that. I also look forward to interviewing the what Oakland A's blogger from Straight A's Get Ready for March. Yeah, the first question tell me about Kyrie Irving as a person. I don't don't really know Kyrie Irving. I follow
the a's. Uh, this is Derek ively on. Okay, So, first of all, the Tyson Chandler thing with him was a player comp coming out of college. But then you know Tyson Chandler doing some work with the MAVs and their player development system. But you see those stories and I'm like, okay, cool, player comp. Good. But like I tend to think some of those are like training camp fluff piece. Is like, Derek
Cleiveland Tyson Chandler aren't hanging out all the time, are they. Derek Clivelely on his relationship with Tyson Chandler. I've spent a lot of time with Titan. You know, I picked his brain about how I should perceive the game of basketball how it can be the most impactful because you know, out of everybody who I've been coached by throughout my entire career, no one's actually been
seventh foot who has played in this caliber. Belief. So he knows the timing, he knows the positioning, he knows the calls, he knows where and when I need to be at what point in time. So it's just having that extra bit of information that kind of allows me to perceive the game and perceive like a different way. You know, I'd say he's like a big bro, but you know, sometimes he acts other than me. Forgive me if if this is an ignorant thing to ask, but what is Tyson's
connection currently to Dallas and specifically to him? They hired him in a advisory role I believe. I don't know this official title though, but I'm looking for it frantically. That's am I just to appease you, Danny, thank you. So basically you guys didn't know either, No I would have said exactly what he said. I think he's maybe some player development coach for the
Mavericks, which so where is he? That's what I say. It's like this, if you asked me what's the role of Michael Young and Ian Kinsler for the Rangers as special assistance to the GM. But is he on the bench? Is he behind them? I never seen him. I've never seen
him. That's when when because when he was a training camp, well when skin and follow well and I guess it was Devin Harris, they had him, uh headset it up uh in. I think it was a game last week and they were talking to him and that that that topic came up and he was talking about being coached by by by Tyson Chandler, and like when
did this happen? Like when years ago? I had no idea. I think he's just a hired gun that that can come help out big men on short time and he's not doesn't want to be a coach or do this full time, which is what it requires. So I think he just kind of helps out. It looks like he took every when Nico got the job summer of twenty twenty one, he got just hired to He's probably whenever he wants,
I would imagine. I don't know, I really don't know. But you hear that coach k Shure, the hell is not seven foot and you know played in the NBA Tyson Chandler straight out of Compton. I really like that. Did you know that? I did? Not? I did? I loved school. He did too, nice dude. Okay, real quick, guys, can can I do the Mankini equestrian story. It's been spitting on the document when it keeps saying we have to do this, it's there's a little note attached to it. This is great. We gotta do this
Mankini story. What is this? And we'll do it next? On the one the freak serious? Yeah, yeah, I think it's okay. No, I trust you implicitly Mankini? Are you? Is that it so cheese? You gotta yes? Oh and also if you're looking to buy a home, oh oh, next, some nice ever't want the freak
