This is a downbeat on ninety seven one the freak. Danny's gonna play some funny audio in a second about ten minutes talk in movies with Jje tonight, Well and you actually a couple of things. Number one, guys, I have an update on the Saturday Night Live bet that we do. So we each drafted ten people host or musical guest for Saturday Night Live, and the
season started in October runs through May. The loser, whoever has the least amount of points would get We'll have to get a phone case of the choosing of the other two people for a week, probably a foot. Danny got a point when the Foo Fighters were the musical guest on the Nate Bargatzi episode Good Job Didn't get You. And then it was announced last week that Timothy shallow May will be the host this week. So Timothy Shallow May your host.
That's a point for Mike Siroy, who drafted tim shall May in the fourth round fourth round value, So one point, one point for Mike with Timothy shall May. Yesterday they announced the hosted musical guest. You can just tell in his voice that he's about to get a point, like he's so mad he might be able to. He might have gotten an exempt, like an automatic win for November eight. There's something strange. Look at him.
Normally you're not a happy person. He looks like a guy that hadn't eaten in a week and somebody just put a pork chop in front of him. He spent his whole life not eating pork chops. When he put bite in his mouth, and now that's what a man looks like. His cheeks are rosy, his mouth is watering. It wasn't musical guest Tate McCrae, some girl I've never heard of, which that was the whole other thing. Who is that Canadian singer songwriter Dan? Like two songs? She must be a
big, be big soon. Apparently she'll play both of them on SNL. They'll do that, they'll try to get ahead of it. That'll be someone before they've acted, before their bubble is burst. But really not too often someone with two songs? Is she super hot? Like I would guess that she is. I know she's a Canadian? Yeah, Oh she's Canadian? Forget it? Okay, so you know how ridiculous that is? Yes, in a pinch, sure, but not what I'm looking for Yeah, when
she's twenty. Yeah, she when she gets older, she'll be hot. Yeah, it's terrible when she's forty. Where is it twenty two that your host for November eighteen? At him, Mikey, look at him? Who is it? Fifth round pick? Jason Momoa? Mike Siroli has another point? Who really? Yes, look at you? All that joy was for me that you were feeling Jason Momoa. Okay, there is I like the game, the real joy that we're playing the game with him? Uh huh.
He finally has people play the game and not take Wolford Brimley with all their picks like skin did. And what was it the Ken Wagon Mike Campbell Edgar Winner. Uh, he's just happy that people were playing, were getting points. He took cy the guy that did Gongham style. So but that goes to us, say Jason Momoa. Uh is a candidate, I would say for the Sexiest Man Alive, which will be announced tonight on Jimmy Kimmel. Now, last year's winner was Chris Evans, year before that, Paul
Rudd. Who is it? People Magazine? People Magazine? Yeah, Michael b Jordan, John legend E, yoursel. But those are your last five years. I am locked in. I know who this is going to be. I only I don't need two picks. I am one hundred with who is going to be people sexy man. Now, you guys can banter about all you like, and I'm sure you'll get here. Won't take too long. We'll let me get to you real quick. Let me just say this.
I thought of this and the SNL thing together because every time that Timothy shallow May cologne commercial comes on, which is during every Cowboys and Rangers game, it seems, and Danny will send a text he is showing his horny level meter. He texts us, this is the first time I felt horny in five years. It's from a Timothy shallow May commercials come on again, though, and the text would get more aggressive, Yeah, until we kind of we have like a gift and then a laughing you know, and then
it's just four more texts in a row. And it was I think it was a game four the World series. I called him like, I got, are you okay? Why do you send me a gift of a of a salad yesterday and a wooden spoon and fork mixing the salad? What did that I mean, I don't know, man, you tell me I thought Timothy would be a candidate. I don't want him. I'll give you guys three you guys can have five people each. I want one name. It's
over. He's winning it. This is done. I do think after two years of going white, and I think we go away from white this year. Okay, good, because then it was Michael B. Jordan before that, Adris John Legend and Michael B. Jordan the three years before Chris Evans, and then who was it after them? After the brothers, Paul Rudd and Chris Evans, Paul Rudd. Okay, are you telling me, Jaja, you think Michael B. Jordan is better looking than Paul Rudd? An
there. If Michael be walked into the studio he said, I want you to run away with me, y'all will never hear from me again. Well, same for us. I'd go anywhere that he wants to go. I would take his hand. He's got the best smile. Oh that's what was from the wire. Of course, I'm gonna go hang. We all need to tell to be honest. If you wanted to take you away, but he wanted to take you away, to that that building they live in in
the wire in Baltimore. I'll go and that's where you're gonna live, wherever he wants me to go. Okay, I love him and live in the towers. You would pick him over and uh, yeah, well John, I love John Legend. Is he's handsome. He's like Paul Rudd. He's handsome. Yeah, Paul Rudd is very and he looked really good actually on that cover of Paul but Chrissy Tige is gonna whoop your ass if you go home with John Legend. Mean, Michael b do we know who it's going
to be. It's gonna be revealed, reveal tonight. Now Mike thinks he knows who he knows you gott Are you ready? I got a couple of guesses. Dude, it's done too. And as soon as I say it, you're gonna be like, yeah, I mean it's done. You're telling us it's done, or no, I don't know it. I'm just I know I yeah, Okay, it's Ryan Gosling. Because does he want it before? He hasn't? I looked not want it before. That is so good. I can't overlooked him. That is that's correct. Why who'd you
have? Key? Well, I told you I think that Reynolds wanted That's what I was thinking. An I don't necessarily agree that he's sexy, bad bunny. There's a sex appeal to that man. I don't know what it is. I like and it has been two white dudes in a row. Yeah, it's it's Ryan Goslin. He is long overdo as well. It's not going to be walking exhale and bite your bottom lit and y'all think I'm horny. Looked through that glass, My goodness, look at the steam on
that window. Yeah, she's for a heart in steam. She drew a steam heard what about Timothy shall Night? I was thinking him too. He's like a boy. Though he's a boy. That's the thing. He lost sex when I find out he's dating one of the Cardashians, Well, that's the thing. It's like he lost for me. I always thought to him as kind of a you know, a boyish twinkie guy and boy that Chanelle commercial though, hubbub, he looked like a man to you in that commercial.
He did a man that probably smells real good. He does somebody on the text four six nonsen My votes for Jalen Hurts, and I'm not mad about that. Actually, I think we're safe that Jalen Hurts is not gonna wink I had. It's gonna be Willy Wenka for Danny. I had two. It's fine, it's fine, it's fine. Doesn't deserve the fantastic. It's pretty Willy Wanka. I had too, but you brought up Gosling. It's gonna I had Bunny Carlos the drummer for cheap Trick or Paul Giamatti.
Those are for Paul gia to finally to finally from second and third place. Bradley Whitford looks like he's got a chance. It is Gossling. He got your Yeah, that's good. That's especially if he's never won. Okay, Danny, could you have funny audio real quick? You know, did either any of you guys participate in spelling, like for I don't know if you
had Ui L, we had U I L or here? Yeah, for like in high school or middle school elementary literary events, you'd have to go to these things, and spelling was one of the ones that I've excelled. In a matter of fact, went to state as an alternate. So if somebody that was in the actual spelling b team would have died or their parents wouldn't assigned their waiver slip that I would have been able to go to State
and spell destroyed making Okay, you probably would. It's been a while since I've spelled, but I was curious if then you guys had ever had to deal with that. Yeah, I think I told you a year ago. My traumatic moment was being eliminated from I don't know third grade spelling bee on the word moose, which I spelled moose m ooh ooh se moose. I was eliminated by not using letters in a spelling he spelled with sound. I
really did well. If you thought that. If you're one of those people that thought that spelling was not important, I hope you never find yourself on Jeopardy because this happened a couple of nights ago. John Steinbeck called this one of the great songs of the world and wanted the music and lyrics printed in one of his novels, Thirty Seconds good Luck. Brian Adams had fifty two dollars coming in the final He wrote down, what is the battle hymn of
the Republic? We can't accept that it cost you all the under knocking you down to zero. That's unfortunate. So Jelana Carter for the moment is in the lead. What did she come up with? What is the battle hymn of the Republic? And you got the L in there. That's the source
of Steindeck's title, The Grapes of Wrath. So you're gonna add to your eleven thousand, five hundred, ten nine hundred and twenty two thousand foreigners today, I'm not to win for you now that the Repubic It would not have mattered because she was gonna win anyway, and she was leading him by money, by double what he had, but still bro battle him of the Repubic? Well, and I love that. It's Ken, right, Ken Jennings. Yeah, yeah, I'm glad that he didn't say Repubic. He said
battle him of the Republic. And the guy immediate was like, oh my god, damn it. So left the L out of republ You've seen them write their names in that thing. It is hard to write legibly on the Jeopardy screen, Rightmi homie left out the L flat out. That was not a miss read. I think a lot of smart people have bad handwriting. They do. We do. Have you seen my notebook over here? It's like I can't grab a pen anywhere near you two. You don't see it,
But I mean, that's stupid. They he knew it, he did, But look they're sticklers for things like that. On Jeopardy, Yes, air lightning, fast text around. Yep. My failure was chandelier. Kevin spell chandelier C H A N D E L I E R. All right, Kevin wins the spelling. Be sorry you lost. Go ahead, play your audio. I don't have audio. It's time for Alamo draft House Cinemas Press played with JJ. I've been looking forward to this. Some good ones
today, man, carry it over. We will movies with Jay Jay long intro before lyrics. Yeah, it's time once again for Rest played with JJ, the Lady with the Syling in cinemas without further ado. We got two movie reviews with the original screen queen herself, the twentieth Century Bucks Miss J. J. Jackson. There's Jazz the screen Queen J. J. Jackson.
She seen some biggins. I know three of them right, yeah, any order you want, just blasted, because I'm curious about all three of these well, we could start with the one that I'm sure it's on everyone's mind, Killers of the Flower Moon. Let's go WHOA. I was long A good start, was a long one. It's a good start. I think halfway through. I looked at my brother. We went to go see it, like we went to noon showing, so like right after you know,
the shift's little brutal them. I was like, man, somebody need to introduce him to limited series because my guy three and a half, three and a half, it could be a beating and three fifteen. Yeah, but very good movie, yes, hands down, like probably one of Martin Scorsese's best. Yeah. Absolutely, He's done a lot of good stuff too. I mean, you have all day to go down his his filmography. But you know what a DiCaprio and Robert de Niro. It's story. It's
America. It's an American history story, and it's a story that not many people are familiar with. I didn't know anything about this obviously until you know, they were building up and it was coming out. It's you know, it takes place at Oklahoma and Osage County, which is American Indian Territory. Found out that there's oil on this on this land in this county, and so mysteriously American Indians started dying, just one by one, slowly dying.
And then yeah, agents started of a sudden took notice to it and decided to come and investigate what's going on. And then you're starting to put together what's going on. Obviously you got you know, the white men coming in marryman to marrying these women who have access, who has land, and then mysteriously they're dying, and now all of a sudden they are taking over,
you know. So it's it's it's it's a crazy story that took place is during the twenties, I believe, and I couldn't have thought of a better director to handle this story at like Martin Scorzoni did, because he did not sugarcoat anything. He didn't hold back, He didn't you know, kind of whitewash. I'd say what Hollywood would say, whitewash. He you know, he told the story. And this was just like a small portion of what
really went on with with all went on. You know, these are just the few characters of you know, the real people of just a big variety of a problem that happened back then and it's just so sad. You're just shaking your head, like this is just sad that this happened. But it's such a it's a beautiful, like well told story, like it was told very well in the eyes of you know, of an incredible cast, and it was a great script. Lily Gladstone, who played Molly Berger, who
ended up marrying Leonardo DiCaprio's character. I mean, that's in the trailer, so I'm not giving anything up. I thought she was a scene still. I thought she was probably one of, you know, one of those ones who really stood out to me, especially when you're acting across from people like Robert de Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, you know what I mean. Yeah, she hasn't really done much. I think she's done mostly small stuff since some
television. She was amazing in this and it's a it's an important film that people need to see and Britain need to know this story and really probably do some research afterwards as well, because it's very interesting. Hard to determine from the trailers the or the one that I've seen is Leo a good guy or a bad guy in this? Oh, I gotta guess real bad? Okay,
I mean he's essentially is marrying a girl and killing her oil. So you know, yeah, because Robert denar Re places his uncle and so yeahs are there any advocates for the Native Americans that are non Native American in this story that's the good guy white man and no one that's on the casting And how's the what's the violence level in this thing? I heard it's pretty hardcore. Yeah, there's some scenes. There's some you know, when you show
a couple of bodies. Yeah, it's like, oh, this is another role where Leo is playing a racist, Right, it's pretty good, Like because he was in Django too, and he was great, and to hear the things like obviously how he didn't want to do a lot of those scenes and say, you know, he had a really hard time in that movie. But Leo is just Leo's incredible. There's nothing that I've seen from him
that it's not been great. Mark and Martin Scorsese, you know, he's worked with him in the past as well, about a thousand Yeah, So but really, Robert de Niro was great, and I see it like Lily Gladstone. I think those were the two names that you probably want to keep in mind when awards season comes around here in a few months. I'm looking right now. The best picture we do have an Officer Oppenheimer is a slight favorite minus one twenty five Killers of the Flower Moon plus two hundred, so
it's the second favorite. Leo is in fourth for Best Actor, Yeah, behind Killian Murphy. Helly is probably going to take that. Coleman Domingo, Bradley Cooper and Maestro Mike, which is not out yet, that comes out this month. And then Leo there, yeah, there's a big controversy about his nose in early h and then Lily Gladstone, the girl you mentioned, is a co favorite for Best Lead Actors. Yeah, it's I mean you said long at first, long, but I'm all in. I think yeah,
it's great. No, for sure. Is it a jerker? Hey, No, Lily Tomlin's in this, it's a different Lily run a long time. I'm being Did you cry and I didn't cry? No? No, it's just one of those man that's sad, you know what I mean. Like it's one of those really like you couldn't believe. I mean I was. It's just it's a very interesting story that I can't believe I've just never heard about, right, Like it's crazy that I was never taught anything about this. Well, well of course, yeah, yeah, But like
I said, I think this is a film you're gonna go in. You're gonna be like, you're gonna be amazed by the story that you're gonna that you're seeing in a great film, and then you're gonna go do some research afterwards, because like I said, this is just a small portion of what happened within this situation. So yeah, Killers of the Flower Moon definitely recommend it. You might have to play your day out on it, but yeah, yeah, so but plant it wisely and it's a good watch. It's
really really good film. Really is you want to do one of the others real quick? Or what do you think? Priscilla or Priscilla? Yeah, I really liked Priscilla. I did, uh Priscilla If you don't know, Priscilla Presley married was the wife of Elvis Presley. The story picks up right before she meets him. I think she was like fourteen or fifteen fifteen of the one, which is very you know, a little predatorial for me, you know what I mean, Like you don't want to talk about it?
But yeah, yeah, people don't want to talk about it. And and again it was back then and illegal. I think it was back then. I think it was. I don't know where. People didn't really she really didn't pay much attention. Yeah, because this was around the time I believe Elvis was in the military. They that's when they met. So she was
fourteen or fifteen when they met. And and you're following this story through her eyes, So you're seeing the world of Elvis Presley, but through her eyes, which I loved because I don't think this is something that probably no one would have thought to make a film like this. Sophia Coppolad directed it. If you're not familiar with her work, loss with translations. She does. She's a lot of female, feminine heavy films that really put a great spotlight
who gives a good person spected from the women's side. Very great director,
very great filmmaker. And she just learned a good job with this of just you're feeling everything that she's feeling, You're seeing how she's she you know, Priscilla, she felt so alone at times because you know, she she she was a child and she was just in love with this man who really wasn't around, and then he brought her over to this you know, to the States, because they met over the overseas and she ended up staying with him
and it kind of groomed her in a way. So you're seeing this story and you're seeing Elvis, especially who's played by Jacob Alerdi if you don't know who he is from Euphoria, very good actor. Actually he's on the come up and he doesn't and people are praising him so much because he doesn't look like Elvis, and you can tell he's not trying to look like or really person him in the way of like, you know, focusing so much on his dialect and his accent. You know you hear it. But it wasn't
like a deep dive like in the movie Elvis. It wasn't that deep. I wonder if made Yeah, I wonder if they made those choices based on the way that Priscilla perceived that man, not the icon that we all bring him as. Yeah, where you're seeing these intimate moments with them, and you're you're you're getting really in like behind the scenes of how he you know, how he was off stage because he's only you don't ever see him on stage, I think one shot and it's a shot right behind him, so
they don't focus on that. They're focusing on her and her feelings and her emotions behind, you know, within the relationship with him. Not wait for this and it's out or yes, I believe, Yeah, it's out. It's out in theaters now and now it's not a lot of buzz behind it because it's a twenty four you know, it's a small indie film. But it's so good and I think it's a great story. Priscilla Presley, who approved it, she thought this was it was very much accurate to what kind
of went on for her, and it's just it's great. There's a young lady that plays Priscilla. Her name is Kaylee's Spainy. She's not really She's done a couple of movies like Pacific, rim Uprising, Bad Times at l roy Ya, but she's not one of those faces that you would recognize off the bat and did she did a great I don't know how Priscilla Presley's personality is. I don't know. I'm not a big Elvis Presley fans. I didn't follow him like that, but the way she portrayed her on screen her
emotions, just her. You just felt she was so just alone and you felt that in her when she wasn't even speaking, you could just tell her manner and everything about which is why I love Sophia Copla so much. Because it's a great it's a great script. It's great you know, dialogue, but there's so much behind it. That's just nothing being said, but you're seeing everything. Yeap, that's unravel and you're feeling how she's feeling it.
She's not afraid of the languid moments, for sure. She's great. It's it's a great film, Priscilla, give it a shot if even if you're not an Elvis Presley fan, I think that's a it's an interesting story from from her point of view of being with someone as major as Elvis, Top five and that best Actress odds right now, Yeah, yeah, I can see that. Yeah, it's gonna be a great award season. I'm excited. I didn't wait to start getting going on that. We'll hear about Freddy
in a minute, Yeah, and that's coming up. We'll play your talkbacks from the iHeartRadio app. The red microphone button keep sending them in, got plenty, but keep them coming If you get some jokes,
