Nyat and Divine Joy Randolph The Holdovers. Now, I was very surprised on this America Ferrara nomination. But for those that with supporting actresses a little weird. We'll supporting category in general for Oscars because you can usually for that, like it's just one big scene that that really gets you that nomination because I thought, you know, unpopular opinion America for she was. But the speech that she gave ye, the monologue that was that scent. It over
the top, so that right there, it definitely got her nominated. It was the high mark of that movie. It was the part of the movie that we all watched and we're just like, damn, you get it now, Like you don't want to read You're gonna want to read that monologue to
you two little girls around the world. That monologue was really good. I have to give them credit for that, like I said, like, because like I said, she was okay, like I thought she was cool, and then she delivered that it was like, okay, that's the money right there. I don't remember. That's how supporting categories usually were. Yeah, I don't even remember that. I remember pieces of the movie, but that
part I absolutely do. There was applause in the theater, and it's definitely the most impactful sort of the entire message of the whole movie, like absolutely condensed into two or three minute thing, and it was well delivered, Like, yeah, that was the cherry on top. It really was the cherry on top for the film. A lot of favorites for me in this. I can see a lot of people winning this. Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks
in the Color Purple is amazing, is a star absolutely Yeah. If you don't know, daniel Brooks says she was in Orange is the New Black. Yep, Yep, I'm looking at it right now. I know exactly.
Phenomenal in the Color Purple. Very good. That musical, Yeah, it's a music okay, Yeah, yeah, it's because it was you know, it was the movie that came out seeing Spielberg did it back in the eighties and then it was a play Broadway play Yeah with Bilberg, Ted dancing girl friends, Yeah, girl Ted dancing and Whoopie Goldberg a couple for a long
time. Interesting, right, But the one name that's been really taking them home throughout the war season though, it was Divine Joy Randolph in The Holdovers, which I have not seen yet, and I got invited to the screening, and I terribly regret it not going. I didn't feel like that was the day for me, so I just didn't do anything. But yes, that's right. I watched ten minutes of it and turned it off. But
I just could tell I was gonna get tired. That's It's not sure that was bad or what's it about in those ten minutes, like hard to tell. There's a college, yeah that's letting out for holiday break, rumpy and the professor is staying it with a couple of kids, is saying she believe. I think she's like she works at the school Divine Joy's character, but it's getting a lot of praise, and she's getting a lot of praise.
So that was a, you know, very deserving nomination for her. And that's gonna be very fun to see what happens, because honestly, that can go anyway. I think it's gonna be between those three. Emily Blunt, I loved it. Oppenheimer. I'm a huge only Blunt fan in general. I thought she was like the sleep of performance in that movie. Yeah, that's gonna keep me up at night. All right, I'm gonna do it before the Damnpenheimer. Of course, break it down. I think that's an
easy movie. You can break down if you Yeah, yeah, what's with Naiad? I mean, why watching this? That's an incredible story Diana and i AD's gotta she just swims across giant things that seems like a that's a cool idea person and no one ever talks about it. But I'm glad it's getting something. It was an indie film and it didn't get much promotion, so that's how you know. I watched the trailer. It's at Benning.
I believe as Diana and Iad just doing like a pretty awesome monologue about the stuff you run into while you're swimming across the English Channel and how dangerous it is. I don't know. I'm gonna watch Niad too, Please do. I will me too. I'll watch it with you A Team today. Please watch that. You don't want to watch Niad? What if? It's just magical? I'll watch it. This is also an exciting one for me because there's a lot of great performances this one as well. But obviously I think our DJ is going to be the favorite for Oppenheimer. This is his year. don't know. Uh, he was nominated for Tropic Thunder back in Weird nine. He got a no for that, didn't I don't think he wanted for that dis Guys as a dude playing an what about Chaplain? Okay? Yeah, he was nominated for uh Best Actor for Chaplain in nineteen ninety two, I think, And that was before everything kind of went south and he kind of unraveled and then put it all back together. Yeah, it's a great like I'm excited to see and I know his oscars is gonna be great.
I think, Yeah, I think he's probably gonna take that one. I don't know. Ask me in a couple of months when I what about and everything not just too I don't see him. It's too many good before because even Mark Ruffalo and Poor Things was amazing. Yeah, he was incredible important things with Buffalo. Yeah, are you hungry? So yeah, I just don't se Gosling taking it. Uh. It was a great run for him throughout the awards season. It's very interesting to see how people have perceived Barbie
in or received Barbie in. Yeah, he's just not gonna win that, I can tell you right now. He's not winning. That A man winning an award for Barbie to be just the win. He's just just fantastic. He carried the film. He kind of stole He did steal the show a little bit. He was that dang good. He played Matchbox twenty on the beach. You love that? That was my American hilarious and that was a great song choice for that moment. Uh So Yeah. The Best Supporting Actor,

Yeah she did, Yeah, Yeah, she's she's she's been nominated four times in one once. But yeah,
well, Kerrie Mulligan, she's been nominated a few times. And she's one of those actresses that just always under the radar. But she does a lot of great art artistry projects. She's like an actor's great in everything that she does. But not too many people are gonna know her name. Yes, absolutely, but she's really good. Uh So, Yeah, I think either Lily Gladstone in that one too as well. But Poor Things, if you get a chance, definitely check that out. I want to definitely check that
