Okay, we'll put that together with that Monday. I believe at nine am we'll be breaking down Cowboys and Bill's for you Monday, Big Game of the Day and all the goot stuff. But follow It's JJ on air shil special Wonka giveaway. It's pretty

cool, real cool. Yes, And you can get in on that just by following the rules on her post and also Alamo Draft House Cinema Tuesday for office Christmas party. We're getting close, man. I posted the link a couple of times yesterday, so I know that we're getting there and this is going to be Tuesday night at six fifteen when we start, although speakeasy, we'll be there from two to six, so there's a lot going on there, and go see them if you'd like, and then we're gonna go in

there right after that six orteen. Get the movie going office. Christmas Party is what we're seeing. And man, looking at the tickets right now, just to get the biggest update I've got. I could tell you the number if my phone would hit the thing and go to you how many seats we have left? But it's not even let me do it's my phone. It's being stupid. But oh here it is, okay. Back section is sold out. Front section I've got. There's three rows in the front section.

The back row of the front section has two seats left, and the front the front two rows are available. You got thirty seats left or so maybe a little more. Go get your tickets seven dollars tickets ninety seven on the freak dot com. And I think we should say to the front part. I know a lot of times when people go to movies, I don't want to say the front part. I Almo draft House a little different than your standard cinema. So it's not like you're gonna get neck cramps or anything.

If you're sitting on the front row, you're fine. You're very far away from the screen. It ain't like the big uh what do they call it? Megaplex? Yeah, and if you own a wheelchair, you have access to the best seats in the house. You actually do, yes, I mean those are the best seats in the house and they're all available, and that one available else aego, No excuses, pal, Yeah, the official amputee of the freak. How about we prove it. Someone sent a talk

back in yesterday and I didn't ericause I didn't have time. But it was a lady said, well, look, I don't have an arm and I'm picking the Cowboys, So I think I am the official because Fuego picked. He's a Bills fan, double Bills. So you know, how about we see both of you is Tuesday night. Well, Mikey has both of his arms and he picked the Bills, So what's his excuse. I think he's going to lean on the fact that he's blind or that he's gay, fake mine, he's both. I don't know. Yeah, he's blind to his

gayness. He does think that they're going to lose I know more on that at seven. Let's package until seven, because right now we should do this. Hell yeah. Number one on this day in nineteen eighty three Danny Ago a little song, Bark at the Moon by Ozziorn, Sharp Dressed Man by Zezy Top, and then My Oh My by Slate Boy Hard Rock was king in the early eighties, Dude, come on Fill the Noise. Number four and then oh number six, Starfleet by Brian May and friends. That was

a band. Yeah, wow, Okay, I don't know who his friends were. It wasn't Fred Murky though. Yeah. Fred didn't pass away until I think eighty eight or eighty nine. Yeah, I think that's right, or nineties, late eighties. All right, most important thing in the world.

I was scrolling a little bit last night before Betty Bye, and I stumbled across an Instagram post from a buddy of ours that in recent years has skyrocketed to a pretty decent level of stardom in the world of I don't want to limit him to country music, but I would say that's kind of kind of his touchstone and where you would likely find him if you were looking for his records at Josie Records, he would probably be in that section we're talking

about talking about East Dallas's own Joshua Ray Walker. Now, we have discussed him a handful of times on this on this show, most recently I think earlier this week because we played his performance of his appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel

Show from last week. He has appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show a couple of years ago during the pandemic where they he basically did a performance that was videoed here in Dallas and they sent it to them up there because you know, everything was minimal staffing, no audience, no live bands, and but they still had musical guests and Joshua ray was one of them and he did his uh, did his performance remotely, So you know, he's his Spotify listens

are well over the millions, and he's become kind of like leading the charge as far as representing this city as far as guys or acts that have taken it to the next level. And he posted something on Instagram last night that kind of helped maybe explain some of the stuff that's been going on with him over the last several months because he's had to cancel some shows. He played

some shows opening up for The Killers in Las Vegas. He ended up having to go to the hospital to have his appendix removed, and he's canceled some other shows here and there for I think one of them was needed some rest

and one was just kind of an undetermined or unannounced medical stuff. So he's kind of been on and off the road dealing with some stuff, and we kind of found out last night maybe what this all had to do with, and his post said this, he goes, I've been dealing with some health issues this year that have made my quality of life on the road and off pretty brutal lately. Even though my prognosis isn't what I would have hoped for, it is a huge relief to have some answers and a course of action

moving forward. Basically, my doctors have found a localized cancer in my colon and I will be undergoing surgery to remove part of my colon on January third. Luckily, we found it early and it's likely I'll make a full recovery without further treatment. This is great news, but I will need to take a few months off after surgery to recover. He goes on to say,

this is deeply disappointing and frustrating. But I've consulted with my doctors, and I have been advised that after some setbacks during the healing process, I need more time to rest before getting back on the road. And you know, look, my heart goes out to the dude. I know that when you start entering into the battle against that horrible, horrible disease, you know, there's a lot of unknowns. But it sounds like by all metrics, they

found this early. They have a strategy, they have a surgery date in the calendar, and they're going to attack this aggressively. And you know, by if you you know, read into what he said, they're very hopeful that he's going to be Okay. He's a young man. I believe he's only thirty two years old, say he's yeah. I was like, is he been in his thirties yet? And yeah, I think he's early thirties.

I believe. Now, along with this news in this post, which got picked up by everybody, Billboard, rolling Stone, I mean minutes after he announced this on Instagram, you know, the major publications that report on this type of stuff immediately grabbed it. Because, like I said, he's a big deal man, and he gets a lot of love, and he

gets a lot of national press, and it's very well deserved. But in addition to this news about his cancer, he revealed that he was going to be releasing a brand new song at midnight last night, and there was a video of him performing the song live, like him sitting in a chair and somebody you know, a camera crew through you know on him and him sitting there with an acoustic guitar and a microphone and he performs this song live and

the song is called thank You for Listening, And he said that he'd had the idea for this song for a while. He said, it's definitely been colored by what's been happening in my life throughout the process of creating it. What started as a simple thank you to my fans ended up having a much deeper meeting meaning, including my mortality. But this in no way is a goodbye. I'm going to fight this cancer with everything I have and my odds

are great. All I ask is for your patients and healing thoughts. During this time, I listened to this entire song and it was all I could do to not go to a very dark and morose place because the tone of this song when you when you post this, tune in in addition to the news that he's reporting, it has a very foreboding tone. And he said that, you know, he had the idea before he was ever diagnosed. You know, this was a thank you to his fans. But he even

acknowledges that you listen to the lyrics of this song. It's gonna sound very eulogistic in a way, but by no means is this a goodbye. But it's impossible to listen to the lyrics to this song and not be like, dude, or what are you doing? Man? Are you predicting something really bad? Are you covering your bases here? It's gorgeous. It's a beautiful song, and on its own it's it's fine. You know, you get the message, but when you attach it to this news, listen to it

for yourself and tell me what you think. It's less than three minutes long. I'd love to play the whole thing, if that's okay with you. I purposely didn't listen last night so I could hear it on the air and reaction. Okay, this is Joshua ray Walker's brand new tune thank you for listening a song that he posted last night, that that dropped at midnight officially

on the street platforms. And this came with the news that he is going to be starting a battle with colon cancer and having surgery to have part of his colon removed on January third. Here's the tune. Thank you for listening, Joshua ray Walker. Thanks for listening all my sad songs. Thanks for loving me. When I sing words wrong, mags A bad times not seem so long. Thanks for listening. I good a bit down on the dry fire because God made me. The song crossed Wire would have been singing and

an angel quiet. Thanks for listening, hooding up, I'd stick around these long by listening to the words and on my song if it's worth my final curdin car, I have no horn a greta it all. We were drinking en graveyards, sneaking off, kissing in my friend's car. Then arm gets horse outside them balls. Thanks for listening. You might have seen me on your TV. They even let me on the Grand Old I breathe. If

you'd have told me I never believe. Thanks for listening. Who to know I'd stick around these long by listening to you wors and on my song if this word my final Curdian call, I had no regret said all but most of all, thanks relistening to all my sad song. Thanks for loving me when a singer is wrong, it's a bad time not seem so long. Thanks for listening. That's a special kid, man. Yeah, and I

hate it's like you're playing this song in remembrance of him. Yeah. It just has that feeling, man, And he's got such a great way of conveying emotion through his voice and his words. It's so reminiscent of the Texas greats that come to mind. And you know, it's it might sound sacrilegious, but I kind of think that he'll be in the same paragraphs as you

know, Guy Clark in Towns, van zandt and people like that. And there's a lot of guys that are that are doing that, that kind of stuff that to this day, you know, Ryan Bingham comes to mind. But dude, that that song is absolutely haunting and beautiful and and and the fact that he wrote that and then made this announcement and you know, obviously I think he's going to be okay. He thinks he's going to be okay. It sounds like, you know, they've got a really good did plan

in place, and uh, they caught he's got colon cancer. They caught it early. They're going to remove part of his colon and he's going to recover and get out there and do what he's been doing, you know, his whole adult life. And uh, but damn. I listen to that song last time. I'm going, Jesus, Joshua, what are you doing man? And that same I'm trying to think of some some records that have done that over time. I mean that that David Bowie record that was put

out. It was created when he knew he was dying. Yeah, and you listen to that and it came out I think after he died that Yeah, yeah I did. And you just go Jesus and it just tears you up. I mean, it's a very Joshua Ray move to do this. Yeah, you know, well, hey, hopefully he's good and ends up

okay. And I'm glad they found it early, of course, sure did Colon cancers like I think it's second or third biggest one now and it's happening to younger and younger people, and it's it's crazy, yeah, because typically that's something you you don't even look for symptoms until you're forty. I think it's maybe they've even maybe they've lowered or raised it. I'm not sure, but I don't think I got my first. Uh. I thought it was

forty five until maybybe I'm wrong. Maybe they've they've upped it, you know, acted that commercial, that Corectal commercial, those coli guard Yeah, which is good, you know, but if you're thirty two, you're not thinking that's gonna happen. You know what, if you're listening and you're thirty, get it looked at, just to be safe, because you just don't know. Man, an early detection. I know it's such a cliche, but it's so true. It is key. Get the scans, get all that

stuff. It's pretty affordable, man, Get the coal of guard, get your doctor to give it to Your insurance will cover it. You know. You make a duke in a box and take it to the post office and they'll let you know if you need a colonoscopy. And I've been doing it for years, you know, for the last probably five or six years, just to be safe, to send it off. Yeah, take the post office myself. I'm that dumb butt standing in line with a big blue box with a turd in it. That's me. But it's worth it, you

know. It's good to know. And well, damn it, josh I hate hearing this news. But we're hoping for the best for you, and I'm sure you're gonna be just fine. Yes, all right, everyone, Good vibes to Joshua. Ray Walker our four our fourth friend. I have birthdays Danny. He's an East Dallas dude. Man is the eastaus guy righting forth because he plays hi fourth a lot. He grew up over up at like Castelinda, and I always think of him as a fourth guy because he's

like always playing over there. You're right, he's I don't know why I always say that he's on State Fair records, right or yes? I believe so from a birthday standpoint today, one of Mike's always heroes, Don Johnson, is seventy four. He's kind of patterned his life after him. He's trying to be Don Johnson at all times. It's just a shame that the Pastelle Blazers don't fit anymore. You can fit in rip some when he flexes. Adam Brody is forty four from his work and as you would know him

from Fleischmann is in trouble. Oh yeah, yeah yeah. My generation knows him as Seth from the OC. Pretty convinced. I was Seth growing up, and I was I was. Ned Brower of Rooney is forty five and I sneaked that in too, because I love Rooney. I love that band. Which one is he? I hope he's the singer what's his name? The Wise? His birthday probably shouldn't be listed, no offense, Ned Ned Brower. I don't think that's the singer. Jesus. He's the drummer at

Ned brow Yeah, how do you know Ned? He's from North Carolina. Mutual friend did some work with him him and he was in Dallas and we hung out for a weekend. Oh yeah, a weekend with Ned. Uh. Who's the drummer too. He's got the cool drum break on where does your heart? Or when did your heart go missing? Hold on, I'm Craig. I'm playing some Ned. I don't care. You're there. We go the drumsn't let's go wrong. I love that baron. Dude, We're

really good? Was this in Grand Theft Auto or something. Uh, that song wasn't or not Grand Theft Guitar Hero I'm Shaking was on the OC though. Okay, the first time I heard it, remember this one? I guess their first single. I think twenty years ago. Man, I seen you ned it didn't matter. Rooney attached it. I said, I'm reading that birthday. I don't care. Happy birthday, Dad. I can't believe you're forty five. I don't know to listen to the Rooney album this weekend.

Alana Heim is thirty two of Heim or Haim Oh the barbecue Joint. She's the Yeah, I don't think that's Travis's wife's name. Uh, she's the one who is in liquorice Pizza, I think Alana. I still haven't seen this three that's really good? Maybe is that good? I have? I can get chance to see it. I heard it's awesome. You haven't seen it? Yeah, I wanted to then get to it. I still haven't seen that or the new Japanese Godzilla movie. No, don't get to it, you'll like it. I want to see it. I want to

review that. I want to hear what you think of it, Dainty Tim Reynolds is sixty six, Kevin, you know what Tim Reynolds is. Tim Reynolds, Uh no, he's one of the great guitar players of our time. Tim Reynolds sixty six from t R three, but also the Dave Matthews band. Oh he's sixty six. And as Atlanta's the actress, Here we go, Here we how Old's Dave Day's like fifty five, Okay, the drummer Carter's like sixty three, sixty four. Damn did they getting up there?

That's why I go see him still playing a bunch of dates. Oh my god, I'm playing two and a half hour shows. Uh Mo. Vaugh is fifty six, remember von I do? And the last one I have is the late oil billionaire J. Paul Getty. Tell me everything you know about J. Paul Getty. Well, he, according to Fortune magazine, was named the richest living American back in nineteen fifty seven when he had one point two billion dollars, which would now make you the one billionth most

rich living American. And then his and then his his empire crumbled when the images emerged. That's not what happened to J. Paul Getty. Isn't the guy from Getty Images. It's got to be his son. I don't know. Misfits, urble joke. No, it's good though, because I always got confused by what is Getty and like there's one other someone else has images too, it's Getty Images and there's another one and they get to have so much trademark that they've bought up. It's ridiculous. I don't know, doesn't

matter. Why are two of our biggest stars in town always so pissed at the refs? Well I have evidence of both, including Michael Parsons sounding off on NFL officials. Next on the Freak
