You're listening to the downbeat on ninety seven to one. The freak for you, domb really easily are without looking at up. Only took a couple and you don't win anything. You wanted to give me the text her? Who could text? In the three movies that Francis McDorman won Best Actress for We just did this during the break basically because Danny showed us a younger picture of Francis McDormand, and she's pretty, and she's not someone most people have on

their Oh my god, you're so hot. Let us down the hall pass list, you get one. But we were like, wow, she's won three Best Actress Awards since she haves and that puts her in a league with who Katherine Hepburn is it four? I think Meryl Streep is three in second place as well? My I guess Sam the Stones at two? Now who's the is? Is Katherine Heppern the goat all time? Men? And uh

yes? And this was a part of some game we did last week or some Catherine Hepberg, But yeah, she was nominated twelve times, has four wins. Wow, three winners are Francis McDorman alone with the silver Your two time winners are geez A Lot, Meryl Street, Betty Davis, Ingrid Bergman, Jane Fond, Elizabeth Taylor, Glenda Jackson, Jodie Foster, Sallyfield more more more emmistone, Hillary Swank, Swanks one two h you got a million dollar baby and uh girl, boys don't cry or whatever? Yeah, cool,

something like that. Fritiss. I've always thought that she's there's been something more to her. What do you mean, I don't know, even going back to to Fargo, they've they always old her up. They've been Willem dafoe quality to her. And he's sneaky, She's sneaky attractive. I bet for some women he falls into that very weird like strange looking. But wait a minute, some women are not asking Oh headshake, no woman, okay,

zero zero women, zero woman according to the machine. And you've I guarantee you there are some who have, especially his character and poor things. They really like the way is he looked in that one. Okay, we have a lot of texts. They got it right. At least two texts got it right. The correct answer for Francis McDorman winning three Best Actress Awards or in Fargo and uh no, Madland and three Billboards over Ebbing, Wisconsin, Ebbing, Missouri, a lot of place. We've got to take Missouri,

all right, put that on the list. I don't know why we're doing that. Oh, I just oh yeah, I watched Speaking of a one to follow, watch Poor Things. That is an e f and wild movie. Man, what a ride. Right, Look when did you squeeze that in over the weekend? Yes, Sunday, I think, okay, Sunday, And oh I really liked it. I really did like it. But it's God, that's a weird flick. But I love weird. I love that that someone green lights this and like, screw it, let's do

it, and it wins awards and it gets it gets love. What a It's like Frankenstein meets I don't even know. Yeah. Yeah, as far as the way it looked, it's Benjamin Button. It's incredibly imaginative. Yes, I got Alison Wonderland vibes a little bit too. Yeah, sure, she's great, she's amazing at it. Yeah. Do you remember the scene that I acted out in studio a week ago where I got on my hands and knees like a crab. Yeah? Remember that scene? Yeah, it's

pretty good and murky, and then she grow it out. A fine question. There's only one way to find out, Mikey, and I assigned this job to you. I think I gladly accept, but I don't know how you have to find that one way. Oh okay, you just give me the tools to succeed. She did have a lot of sex. She had sex every minute of that movie. I mean, it's NonStop almost and it's

as good as Ruffalo in that too. Geez, he loses his mind because you know, oh boy, i'd been in him, and that I've been him before, ye drinking and just add because you know, hammer in a way losing money. I like the first half of the movie, maybe a little more than the back half. Yeah, I get that, because I did get a little lost, and then it ended sort of abruptly, and I thought the ending would be different. We're not spoiling anything. I guess

a lot of people are still gonna watch it. But I just thought she was just excellent. The idea of being a beautiful or gorgeous woman with the brain of a little kid, and then once the kid reaches whatever mid teens or wherever, the urges dig in and then realize, wait a minute, here's a cucumber. Oh my god, yes, let's about that, the

self discovery. It's a wild it's a wild, wild story. And you talk about the ending and this gives nothing away, but the way the movie ended almost felt like the final fifteen minutes of There Will Be Blood in a way. Do you if you remember when Paul Dano's character no spoilers, I'm gonna watch this. It returns to Daniel day Lewis's character in The Bowling Alley that he had at his home and the tension of that standoff. It kind of reminded me of that. It takes a turn and it's it's a it's

a wild ride. It's a it's a very imaginative idea, very creative. It's only something that could come from someone's mind. It's not based on anything else other than what this guy dreamed up in his head. And I wonder how he feels, you know, because you try to describe a dream to somebody, or a thought or some wild idea. I'd love to know if the final product, when he looks at it as a whole, how much it lines up with the original imagination. Probably not that close. That inspired

the film. I wonder if it was a dream. It could have been a dream, It could have been an amalgamation of a lot of things, you know, a part dream, part imagination, part influenced by things that he'd seen in other movies or whatever. But it's just such an original idea and I love it. Part imagination, part dream. Full your ghos it. You know, it didn't win Best Picture, but it kind of it kind of has a somewhat of an imagination relationship with the movie that did so

well last year, Everything everywhere, all at once. Yeah, yeah, in a way, I agree with you there. It's unconventional for sure. Of all those movies that I watched, Bobby Barbie was my favorite of all those, but Poor Things was my second favorite movie of all those watch although I think Oppenheimer was the best one. Yeah, probably it's but the one

I like the most and would watch again, it's Poor Things. Oppenheimer is the movie that traditionally what Hollywood and the Oscars deem the best film coming June twenty first, twenty twenty four, Kinds of Kindness, directed by Your Goes, starring Emma Stone, Well, m Defoe, Jesse Plemons, Margaret Qually, Joe Allen and Moore she is his muse. Yes, yeah, they went knocked that out a few years ago. She mentioned that on the smartlest

podcast. So this is kind of been ready and that's going to be gready to go this summer. So there's that, don't miss it. Let's do the most important thing in the world. Yeah, subjectively, objectively, subjectively, but you would be wise to get on this boat now. Yeah, stand on the pier for a few extra minutes and see a boat that I'm interested in really boarding and just wave as you sail away bike Kevin, and then we go inside do something else by Captain Turner. That's how you end

up like Bend and Skin, digging yourself out of your own grade. Kevin claims that he's going to annihilate Bend and Skin at some point this morning eight thirty. I also promote their appearance today though. Plucker's in Dallas on Greenville Avenue, and I want to go to that. Get on out there. It's dope. I'm worried about our station after what you're going to do today. Oh yeah, fractures may emerge that can't be repaired. I think it's

posted. I think it's possible. It depends if we have any accountability from the midday show. Okay, so quickly. This broke at nine o'clock yesterday and I hit it and was intrigued because the parrot was beautiful. But a guy by the name of Julio Ferrari had lost his fifteen year old macaw parrot named Samba. It was up in a tree at Lake Louisville. They were getting a photo shoot done on Sunday at Lake Louisville, and then big gust

of wind spooks the parrot. The parrot flies into a tree, couldn't get it down. Every time of fire officials got there, it would fly away. Now I'm gonna play you two clips of audio. One is gonna be from NBC five, kind of live on the scene as it's going down, and then I'm gonna get you the solution from CBS eleven in a second. Here's NBC five yesterday. Alicia Barrera has been following the rescue effort and she joins us live from Lewisville. What's the update, Alicia, hey r,

This was the fourth and final attempt on Lewisville Fire Department's part. They have really, really tried, and we want to thank them because we did reach out to them earlier. Today, I'm going to step out. I don't really think you can see the bird from where we are, but he just flew across the street from where we are. The only threat there were the hawks that kept flying flying down. Now firefighters are tracking him down once again.

Come down, baby, good boy, Samba se' that's what he's been doing all days, just going from one branch to the other, but never down. Come on baby. So some of you might actually remember Samba. It was back in twenty twelve that we reported on the time he was stuck in a tree in Oak Cliff and that lasted three days and it all happened because he was spooked by fireworks. Okay, okay, I didn't know this. This is a repeat escapee. I'm telling you, guys. Everyone should

have been with me from the beginning. Wait, Samba did this before twelve years ago. Yeah, I made the news in Mike's neighborhood. Yes, wow, that's news to me, all right. So that's kind If they had have called me, I would have gotten that parrot out of there in less than ninety seconds. Okay, Now, I said Julie l It's called Daisy Red Rider. Bam. Oh my god, yeah, I mean, Julia, guess what I And then you don't have to have Channel eleven out

there wasting valuable reporters time with a microphone staring into a tree. Okay, that was channel five of all. Second of all, I thought I had laid the path so clearly to DoD take any shots at this story at all.

And now you what it's like, You're just signing up to be a part of the damage that's gonna be inflicted at eight thirty, right, Like you're standing next to the ward and we're all holding the rifles as the blindfolded Ben and Skin show, we're standing up against a wall, and then you, for no reason just set your rifle down, put a blindfold on, and just walk up and just stand in solidarity against the wall like I admit to being an accomplice in the murder? Right, why would you do that?

Fast? Well, that adds a little intrigue to the eight thirty segment today. God, okay, let's go to CBS eleven comedy first responder Kevin. Don't think anything that I say literally, So here's the job. What happens. I had a text with Julio about eight thirty. He didn't respond until a little bit like after the show, right, so we find out he did appear on the Ben and Skin show. I'll have what you need to know about that at eight thirty. Okay, now he is a success

story. The pear it was found and here's how it was found. CBS eleven and front runner for Field Reporter of the Year. Now sorry, Jovin Paniker, the twenty twenty four front runner is now This woman from CBS eleven, a blood of pet parrot stuck in a tree near Lake Lewisville for three days, is finally reunited with this family. Not even the Lewisville Fire Department

was able to get sanded down. This is the story that you're going to share on your Insta, your Twitter, your Facebook, or your Facebook, your ex whatever you want to call it nowadays. But our Caroline vandergriff is the one who swooped in with the assist about an hour ago. I heard in our meeting how you became part of the story. Okay, don't worry about Doug Dunbar's pun swooped in. Just remember that Caroline Vandergriff is a star

now. And here we are all sitting down, gathered around the screens to hear this story. His owner told me he was hungry, but he had been trying to give him all this food. He didn't have anything left to try. Well, you know, I'm a mom of three little kids. I got snacks in my purse, I got snacks in my car, I got snacks everywhere, basically, So I went to my car, grabbed a

little bag of Dorito's and we used that to learn the bird down. Slowly, the owner was shaking the bag, offering little chips to this bird, and that's when he was able to get close enough where he just finally snatched him and grabbed him. I mean, this bird was stuck up there, he was being attacked by hawks, he was getting tired, hungry, all of those things. So to have him finally safe back in his owner's arms,

just you know, meant a lot to this guy. I keep water in the car too, of course, so we got samba some water, and he was feeling a lot better. His owner took him straight to the vet after this to get him checked out. I will say it did make me laugh because his owner said, you know, I don't normally give him junk food like this. I love the mom move. It's just so classic, dude, What mom doesn't have snacks? And the person the car stuffed?

Somewhere right exactly somewhere, I hear a phone ringing from the Dorrito Corporate management and they want to talk to you. Okay, So Caroline vander griffins CBS eleven the star, who's the who's the man on that? Doug Dunbar, Doug Dunbar calling a lady. Dude, dude, d s dude, That's what it sounded like. Somewhere I hear a phone ringing from the I love the mom move. It's just so classic, dude. What what what mom does? Dude? What mom? What mom doesn't have snacks? Putting

his skateboard underneath his desk? Dude? What mom? Red sweater and his cap on backward? Yeah? That was Karen Borda. That was Karen Boro. Well, what didn't you was it? Really? Well? That was in the studio Hero She's an angel, true angel. Yes, boy, what's your name? Our Hero of the Year, Caroline vandergriff Yeah, she

was passively reminding everyone that she saved the bird. Throughout that hit, she did prinkle the bag of and then the the fire department had four different times going to try to get it, and it would just fly off to another tree. Imagine the fire department sitting at the station and the phone rings again. They're like, yep, oh god, yeah, I don't we don't know anything that you don't know. We have long ladders. What do you think we can do now? She's like, not even the fire department could

get Samba down. What do they you know? I can extend the ladder. But Homegirl's got a bag of cool ranch in the car and that was the that cracked the code. Samba looks down like, sweet jeez, I can get those sorts of snacks. Dorito's once in the last time off. He's gonna be back up with the tree tomorrow because now he knows. It's like, where's my where's my cool ranch? Daddy? All right, I'll fly off now. See I get to be on the news. We get

the fire fire trucks out here. It's just fun this story. It's like a little toddler. Yeah, there's fire trucks at Dorito's climate. This is great surface level. I can see how a lot of people might be going, Okay, it's just a bird. Okay, cool got his pair it back. Im me, Kevin, I'm with you. I'm locked in with you on this. This is huge. Well, Steve and I had reached out. I mean I reached out to him at eight thirty while taking a whiz at the iHeart bathroom. I sent him a message. He didn't respond

till after the show. But you texted him while you were urinating. I I mean, dude, you got to be efficient in this business, so sit down. So I was staying here posting the podcast right after the show, and Steve gets a message back from him, and I get a message from him as well, and he's going through with Steve, and it's like, I've oh, I can't. I got to do a hit with iHeart at eleven thirty because he was confused about who he was talking to. Me

and Steve were both talking to him at once. He didn't we're both working for the same station. Point is Ben and Skin had Julia Ferrari, the owner of This Bird, on at eleven thirty, and there's a whole chain of events that have happened in the first hour of their show, questioning my integrity, my journalism, my reporting, and then the interview happened with Julia Ferrari and what you will see, I'm the most vindicated I've really ever felt.

And that's why I've had a little pepp in my step today. Yeah, you know I've been. I mean, look, some days I come in and just sit down. Some days I am the meat tornado. Today I'm the meat tornado because I am so vindicated, and they will pay at eight thirty. Okay, that's the meat tornado, Julia. Julia Ferrari sounds like a character in Pixar's Cars two, like a foe of McQueen. Yeah, he might be. He does f one driver for sure. He might

be the most badass guy we have in the Metroplex. And I am serious. It's incredible. What's incredible. But I that story does not if I don't sit here, If I if I walk out of the studio and go post my podcast in another office area or wait till I get home. But I sit here and did it here because I had to make computer up in the internet. Was good. If I don't do that, they don't do that story. And the reason they out of that story is they were making

fun of the story until eight thirty you'll get the rest. Don't miss eight either. Jesus see that one I know about Come next. MAVs did stuff Netflix making power moves and we do know what the dinner will be at the Masters. Will you eat this? Yes? Next On ninety seven won the Freak
