You're listening to the downbeats on ninety seven one the Freak I couldn't get over day and he never heard this song when because you said you've you only need three day Matthew songs and we got up like five. I think I'm sure I've heard more than five. He's been around so long and it's hard to avoid him, you know. Yeah, but I thought this was on that impossible to avoid list. This does sound not you know what? This does sound more familiar now that I hear it on headphones. It was a single?

Was it a single? It was like the third single? Yeah, let me hear the vocal. What would you say? Is this? This is? This is? What would you say? See it? And someone's gonna make a poop in the river joke? I know? Oh yeah, I was about two. I'm not gonna know a bunch of simps. No, I don't. I never really heard this song. It wasn't like immediately, Oh yeah, I know that tune. Yeah, it's not the It doesn't have the loud snare drum. That an'ts marching at ye? What year

would this have been? It was not? No, that was far away, very dark period for me for music yeah, it's like nowhere near I was nowhere near this in ninety four. His wheelhouse, I mean, his spider Man fingers on that guitar riff are ridiculous, dude, I mean, Danny could do it, because Danny can do anything. No, no, no, I'm a terrible guitar player. Kevin. We all know that. You're not. Yes, I am here with that. You're here with that. But I can't write a damn good Halloween song. Okay, Yeah,

So I was playing Sea of Thieves with my brother the other day. His wife was out of town, so it was allowed to play video games. You guys were headset, but headset boys playing Internet shoot him up games, communicating with one. I know it sounds crazy, but if you had a Xbox right, you would You could jump into Sea of Thieves. It's a pirate game and you would love it. It's not don't make a pirate face. You don't have to turn into a pirate. It's really fun. It's

very simple. It's not like Call of Duty where you die instantly and throw pirates into your house. Well, I let pirates in the house. So fun. It's gorgeous. I mean, okay, video game water by the way perfected. Yeah, it looks like real water, and that's a hard thing to do digitally. Anyway. You just sail the seas, you look for treasures. You know that, what do you mean? Water is very hard to nail. Maybe it's the easiest thing to nail. No, I've

read art. Maybe buildings are harder. I read articles. Right when I got none of the World capital article I was reading, I switched over to a digital Water is difficult, Danny. There's the headline after the show, go buy an Xbox and join your first mate and Mikey, Yeah, I'm captain, Oh captain. I was yell at cash her telling them that I'm the captain. Get off the wheel. I'm the captain. He's the captain

and he already has his gill again, and his name is Ron. Get Treasure maps, you find it, you bury it, you dig up the bury treasure, you take it back to the out post and sell it. It's a really fun, beautiful game. Anyway, we're playing it, and there's this like bed music throughout the game, this you know, pirate music whatever. And this guy, my brother, will not stop singing on the

headset a song that he remembers one of us. I was like, I don't remember who did what singing when the Halloween singing Jack o' lantern dropped on this very station. So here's the song you can't get out of his head from an artist named Dingu Bayless. And then I've been laughing about this for two days. Why is it working? Okay, here we go. I can see you creeping up the driveway in your little costume, hoping for some candy. You will be surprised when you say trick or treat when you receive

a pound of rancid meat, meat meat. I forgot to go down to Wallgreens to purchase a meat candy for all of the children. I began to pannick when I heard the door bell chime. So ground before you, weeks beyond its prime. No candy, no candy, just grownd beef. No candy, no candy, just crowd beef. It sounds like a pirate song. I actually think I stopped playing because he wouldn't stop singing the meat song in the head. Stop. Now, what a beautiful sea shanty that is?

Yeah? What it's called a shanty? Sah, that's a house, I know, But I think they also called song shanty. I think so a sea shanty's delicious summertime beer too. Shanty. Yeah, I have a little shanty. Was a sea shanty? It's a song? Really yeah, you know, my dad was in the navy and I grew up on the sea. Okay, these things look a man of a self proclaimed man aquatic man of the sea should know what a sea shanty is. And I'm disappointed that you questioned me and told me it was a house. Isn't a shanty

also a house, like a crappy house. Yeah? Yeah, one scooter Scooter McDaniel, Scooter McDaniel, the knockoff version told people to go back to their shanty as they're waving their throwing beach balls. And this is golf, this is golf. Go back. You know, as as it's described online, your brother was singing this song in kind of the way it was intended, because it's defined as sea shanties were work songs devised to accompany particular actions

or tasks on board the ship. Okay, so that's something you would just kind of hum along to kind of keep them swabb It could help keep time among groups of sailors, coordinate physical movements like hauling ropes and raising sales and relieve the boredom of long, repetitive tasks like playing video games with your brother. Yeah, it's like marching in the military. I try to tell you what was now? You know? Now? Anyway it gets to something more

important as in fact, there isn't anything JJ. If there is, there is today sweep, it's time to get your stupid ass out of bed about the most importing thing in the most important thing. Let's go live to a news station. This comes from Florida, but I think that it speaks for the entire nation. A live breaking news report from Channel ten in Tampa Bay. After three more seconds of this ad, I was ready to go, And it's the Suncoast News. Here we go. Welcome back at six eleven.

For the past hour and a half, we've been keeping you updated. Yes, for all of you wondering. She's hot on the nationwide AT and T outage. And this morning reports of the problem are growing. Yeah, we started to notice some problems here in our newsroom with some of the posts listened to the newsroom. Now, sheriff's departments, police stations in nine one one are starting to feel the impact. This morning. Highlands County Sheriff's Department.

They're posting to Facebook this morning saying AT and T outages is now impacting their nine to one one operations, but they're providing a secondary phone number for those in need, also posting which Mike joked or Danny joke that it was nine one two backup plan. So yeah, we have we have a cell phone outage that is hitting some people that hasn't hit us yet. I don't think over fifty thousand AT and T customers. No, it's hit us. My phone says SOS on it. Are you serious? Are you AT and

T? Yeah? Yeah, look at SOS and that's hat SOS. How many unready emails you have? My god, that's like two thousand. No, don't, mikey, SOS is what we're looking at. Upper right is with the part you want to look at Verizon? Man, fine, see for a four digit red bubble attached to your email? Like, huh, I guess it different. That's another conversation because it drives me nuts too.

But everyone is their own way. If I have one red number that's on any app, it drives me. But Nancy really me too, Absolutely, Chris, I don't know why I used to warn and Skin. Ben and Skin, you have a thousand unread text messages that I guess I don't get emails text messages. I'm like, how is that number so high? I said thousand? I think Ben one time, I have like fifty thousand, Like cow, I have two thousand, six hundred and twenty seven, and

I have seventy three phone calls on unanswered. Yes, I don't know, that's all spammy's. Yeah. Yeah, so it's over fifty thousand according to the Digital service tracking Site down Detector, which I didn't know existed, but seems interesting. Uh yeah, mainly hitting AT and T, but Verizon anti mobile customers reported network outages as well. But this seems rampant among AT and

T customers and honestly, SOS is a creepy thing to see. Yeah, right, that's the only capability that your phone has is the SOS feature. I think that's what that means. All right, let me try to text you, okay, Kevin and Danny see if it works, because this is interesting for all of our people out there. This is all happening, and like, I don't know, have we been attacked or is it just a

basic outage? The fact that it's affecting all the networks in Look, let's be honest, it's one network and they share certain components of the one network. Right, and then I got it. I got it. But I think you're also on Wi Fi too? Is it a picture? Yeah, Jesus, hand on hog. I just took a picture downwards as an example. I don't. Yeah, gripping your zero percent. Okay, So that went through. So it works under sos. Okay, turn off your Wi Fi and see if it works. See, we're trying to help you guys

out there that people are just waking up. Yeah, this has actually like been big news for over an hour. Yeah, like I saw the fur three thirty is the first thing I saw. Yeah, same, Okay, disconnecting Wi Fi? Excuse me, there is as of right now, my message will still send if you're on Wi Fi. Okay, Now, nothing's on even though cyber attack is trending on Twitter. There's no indication that this

is a an attack or anything like that. But hey, but there's a yeah, there's something going on. And this is what Mike said to think you made the greatest point, Like, yeah, I could we talk about how it affects us in our life right now. Mike sending us Tech pictures

of his hand on his hog. Not a big deal. But yeah, if you're having trouble calling nine one one and it has I mean, as they said that report nine one one is getting hit companies a counterspe sporadic outages, including temporary nine to one one outage in some parts of the southeastern United States. Got it test went through. So you're you're on network somehow, okay, But I mean, I suppose it's a bigger conversation. But are

you seeing an outage map? Is it showing any particular part of the country being affected more than others? No, I'm on CNN has an article up now down detector just has kind of a bought like a graph showing okay, AT and T, Cricket, and Verizon all have like all overnight with smooth sailing, no complaints, and then all of them spike upward. It right as people wake up, starting at like three am, and it's over fifty it's almost sixty thousand people on AT and T saying things are not good.

Geez T mobile spiked in the six am hour two and this, I mean, this comes on the heels of I mean there was news just what yesterday about some documents leaked of Chinese hacking capabilities. Yeah, and we talked just yesterday about the Russian nuclear device that is not designed to hurt people on Earth, but it is designed to knock out thousands of satellites at the same time, which would directly lead to you know, cell phone usage. So I

don't think they're related, But what the hell do I know? I know absolutely nothing. And if they're okay, so we talk about forever, let's focus on the Chinese aspect, Like, if it is a priority for them to develop something that can disrupt communication, you'd I mean, they're gonna have to go ahead and let a rip and test it at some point, and maybe it is just an hour or three hours of interrupted service for a very small portion of America for instance, and then watch if this thing clicks back

on at seven o'clock in thirteen minutes. Yeah, we're all gonna be like, oh, cool, boy, you've never had a big outage and you want to really notice You're like, wait, what was that? Boy? This is where we the people that are like that have held on the landlines that we kind of make fun of, like what are you doing with that? I'll never use that. Why would you ever need a landlines? Okay, they're actually kind of helpful in certain cases es actually when executing a phone

call bit on the radio. But yeah, that's weird, man. You just it further shows how effing we talked about this yesterday when the whole Russian nuclear satellite destroyer is being planned, you know, or or manufactured or designed or whatever, about how reliant we are on all things digital. Like, it's incredible that just seriously, on one element of these things goes belly up and the world is in chaos. Yeah, it seems. I mean, look, sixty thousand is a lot of people. But when you're talking about

nationwide digital the cellular subscribers, it's a tiny knee percentage. Yeah right. It can quickly turn into fear porn when you start talking about well the word attack but cyber attack. And but like, like we're good at if there's any of you out there, Oh, I would say call in or text, but you can't, you know, if you have a problem, like or if you know someone that does maybe two one four eight when seven seven

eight seven one nine seven one, I don't know. I'm just throwing it out there because we I'm sitting here going okay, well, we're kind of in this unknown area because this has never happened before. It's always been something that we've talked about getting cyber attacked like massively. There's been like a little targeted attacks, but we've never talked about widespread going for the whole grid. Cyber attack hasn't happened yet, And if that were to happen, we wouldn't

know what to do with it, Like first time. We're the guinea pig still because we are reliant on this technology now and something goes wrong with it, we can't handle it. So what happens if for six hours every cell phone in America does not work? Ough Man? The amount, because there'd be a lot of panic because they're to communicate with anyone. Yeah, but that's also yeah, well, and because what if we all just got instantly smart in those six hours? Oh my god, we read. We're all

just reading, and I've had a lot done today. I felt very productive. No, one's fine, candy crush out. Yeah, I don't know, man, it's creepy. It is highly creepy. We'll keep you updated throughout the morning because you know, just probably not going away. There's I would say likely likely nothing. That's what im saying. I'm gonna say likely fixed it in the next three hours. That's a gamble, but that's what

I'm going with. I'm looking at the down detector site Kevin and mikey and it does say the most reported locations where they're having these issues Chicago, Dallas, Brooklyn, New York City. I saw a heat map that showed a lot of Middle America getting hit pretty hard. Chicago is the big one, okay, and then there's little spots some West coast, but man, it's real concentrated around the the upper Upper East Coast, specifically New York, New

York. Chicago seemed to be the big, big, big ones, but Dallas has got some reports to La Houston, Charlotte, that's that's Verizon. I've seen AT and T is a little there's I think there's just because I think AT and T is king. There's more users than everybody, so you're getting more outages reported from ATT users. But I don't know, I'm not super worried about that. After a tense This is because my phone works from uh this is a tweet I saw from a guy he does some journalism.

Nice Mario Naffall. After a few ten hours, ATT customers across the US are breathing a sigh of relief as services reportedly resume. Reports came flooding in a phone, switching to SOS mode, Mike hitting at widespread disruptions. But they're starting to come back. So but I still show SOS. But I did just text with you guys. Yeah, we are getting a bunch of textures. No AT and T in Southeast Virginia. Thanks for listening in Virginia got Verizon. I'm good listening on the air up. My work on was

a T T. I have service. So it's just a mix. Some people are Someone asked if you did you guys see Leave the World Behind that movie. I didn't get to because I heard the ending was terrible, But you see it was sort of that. It was great. I loved it and that Herschel isn't it right? Did you see it? Yeah? Julia Roberts or something? Was it Julie Yeah? I think it was Julie ro Yeah, big names. It's cool. It just came out. Maybe I heard mixed. Most of them were not good. It was good. It

was cool. It was done by the Obama's production company, which is probably why you heard mixed reviews. But the premise was it starts with all the phones go down. Yeah, I read all the bright bart reviews exactly. That's probably why zero garbage. I think that the concern is because it is coming from multiple Like, look, I've had AT and T go out before and it's been out for like eight hours. Yes, but it's just isolated

to that one company. Yeah, but when you see multiples Tea, Tea Mobile, uh, Verizon, AT and T, Cricket, whatever the others are, that's when it's like, uh oh, that's nerve wracking. But yeah, it's not like every single cellular company in the world has their own unique, you know, infrastructure. They're kind of all shared to some extent. I think you're right, but I have no idea. You know, poor customer service parts of these companies just getting destroyed by emails right now today,

Yeah, my phone ain't working. I never missed a payment. One time. We have a caller when someone's wigh in on a landline, Let's see, Hi, what's your name? See I told you it doesn't work? ACKed? Hey, did you get hacked? What if he's just speaking in loud, violent Chinese. Hello, what's your name? You're on the freak? Laughing in Chinese? Hi, this is your last chance. I guess our phones don't work either. Maybe she thinks it's on, but it's

not worthwhile. This is proof, This is proof, this is putin. Will try another line and see, Hi, you're on the freak. That's kind of weird. Look at JJ palms off. This is the confusion. We're representative of what the world is feeling. Okay, I'm officially scared your phone say s o s now no No, all right, guys, it's the world behind. So during this break, I'm gonna run over to Dick's Sporting Goods and collect all the beef jerky intents. Yeah, grab me some

rancid meat. I got you on that. If they happen to have it, listen new kicks and grab that homeleook. Run over there and help her leave the guy, Leave the guy, leave the canoe. Okay, well, well, you will keep you updated on this throughout the day. Keep trying to call in, because we do need to test our phones and make sure they're working. They may not be. Nashville at and T down, down another Texter boy? How are they texting? Are they down? Are

they on their internet? Okay, all right, I'm not trying to look at I'm not trying to confront you. Don't whip your head and look at me like that. All right, Okay, we're gonna go do some booting. We'll be back in a few minutes. We've back in a few minutes to tell you all the great things Derek Lively said about his teammates loot. Bye bye baby. We'll be back with a sport report next to ninety seven one, The Freak
