I kind of want to listen. I'm not gonna listen at six, but at like seven thirty. I'm locked in Rose, that'll believe you. Yeah, I think you'll be locked into the podcast at some point after one. Okay, maybe I probably will sleep till ten to me gloriously and then go play golf.
Now next today, you're golfing tomorrow. Yeah, I'm that Thursday golf for me. Oh, I'm not gonna see the Fox four News team for a couple of weeks. No r ip to c J Ntkowski left the Rangers broadcast booth. He's gonna go join the Braves' is all right, there's your Rangers news. Good job, dude. Coming up in a bit, I've got a little special gift, and you know you can read into the messaging as much as you like. Metroplex at nine point fifty, you'll get that now.
Coming up next ten to is Christina and Steve. And Christina and Steve have done some incredible work, not only in their lives but also in the last seven days. And I think I'm gonna start with Christina here because then we got a Christmas vibe. We're gonna do a little gift exchange here. In a second, Steve did a Christmas song. We'll get to that in
a minute. Christina had a birthday on sixteenth sixteenth, December sixteenth, sweet sixteen is and this is a song that she created, the thirty fourth b day song. That's what's labeled in the email she sent me. I've not heard it yet. I'm excited about this. I heard her working on a little bit. I'm excited to hear it. Yeah. I always think about the people who have December birthdays and how that would suck, just in terms of if you are fortunate enough to get gifts, you know, they go
that. My mother that December twenty ninth her birthday home. It's just a bummer, you know, when you get a different time of year, it's all spread out. It's good people forget about you in December. But this is the Christina Ray thirty fourth birthday song. Live on kg LFM, the
Home of the Dallas Mavericks and Inside Sports Medicine with doctor Teo Sorril. I wrote a song kind of about my birthday because you know what, when you turn at the next age, when you turn the page right, you kind of reflect back on your life and like, man, should should I really be here at this age? What am I? What am I doing? And uh anyway, without further ado, i'men to sing this song for you. Do it another year, older man, I still wouldn't dare calling someone
on the phone, still asking mom for doctor advice? What's a health plan? And why do I try? Don't get me started on anxiety? Did I really lock the door? Little? Someone help me? I'm so bad at adulting? How am I thirty? For? There comes a high part? Wish me luck? You gots take it up there. Every day there's something, and I think we all agree that no one has a clue. I should have savings, even touring the world, look with t Swift has
done? Sorry JJ. Instead, I'm sitting here behind a radio board, listening to skin say turn that up more fans blue to TikTok, watching word VIDs. Who could ask for more? Screwbat smart, stuck playing far drops, listen in to boot talk. Hey, I'm thirty four. Maybe one summer I can finally pay off college and I won't have so much debt to bear? But why would I scream? Pen save? The new iPhone is out and I need those sweet greets. Don't get me wrong, I'm doing
just fine. Look at minnrvan A crew and I get a hug from Mike's roy every day. His athletic build will blow you away. Here's a real answer. My life's not a poor I have so much left and more Hendrick thelaire to greet me and my guitar to soothe me. I'm glad I'm only thirty for I did. Dude, that was beautiful. Not a singer. Okay, what a sweet voice she has, man, I think she needs to hear that, because singing, despite being a great musician, is like
terrifies her. You could tell she was nervous. She's good. If she had five percent confidence that she was good, yeah, she would nail it. She her voice is really good, Mary. It's really sweet too. I don't know if I've heard her attempt to sing like that. It's incredible. That's funny too. When I'm thirty, what's so endearing? Man? What was the original song there? When I'm sixty four by the Beatles? Oh? Okay, okay, Sergeant PEPs. Wow that I thought I wanted
to hear it live on the air. Great, Like the idea of I should be saving but there's a new iPhone coming. That's true, I should be saving and I spell whiskey all over my MacBook. Oh no, whiskey. We'll do the strip mall Steve song, Okay, because I think we should get to our Christmas gift exchange. Yeah, and this is not even like the White Elephant Secret sant I want to do the other day, which is dumb joke gifts. I mean they're probably dumb, and they might be
jokey kind of some of them. But I think these are actual, real gifts. Like I got y'all real gifts, and I think you guys mostly did the same, and it's just gonna be nice. There's just niceties live on the radio. Hell yeah, uh JJ brought us gifts like last week and well we made her hang on to him until today. And that's partially why Danny came in today. We're like, dude, come in, we gotta do some presents. So I think, are these all the same?
Are they all because they all look like the same bag? Well you all, yeah, one everyone's got the same one item in. There's different things that I bought for each each of you. Oh what do you guys want to do? Visually? These have been waiting here at the Yeah, we need to get these. Yeah, in the office, and also like he dropped. I told Mikey this earlier. It's the time of giving and receiving. You know. They say it's better to give than receive, and I
think that's stupid. You could get. I think you could do both. I got myself something this year. If you turn around, Danny, Yes, okay, that's what that is. We were wondering what that was. Weird. He brought a little neon sign that's now plugged in. It just says clam chowder, and there's a little bowl of colored lines in it and a spoon. I feel good because I gave it. I hadn't. I feel good because I received it. You got yourself a gift, A neon
sign that says clam chowder. Is it your mind blown? Yeah? Nothing says ringing the Yule Tide than a neon sign that says clam chowder. Nice. Let's see what Jimmy's got us. Oh hell yeah, look at that the new black pumas oh on Finnyl. Thank you, darling. That is awesome. I do not have this. We're the hardest one, Danny. I do not have this yet. I have the first one, but not this one. He usually is the hardest one. Danny, shut up. I have a flask, doesn't the man, the mid the legend flask and
shot glasses, and you know what. I have been in need of a flask. I left mine in Danny's car twenty five years ago. I got a sweet, Yes you did. I got a sweet Packers. Oh, a toboggan that has Kevin. Yeah, dude, I can represent the six and eight packers out there. There you go, it says Kevin on a on a beanie. How you do that? That's yeah too, This is

Oh hell yeah, well yes, yes, she got us Christmas pajamas, red plaid Christmas pajamas and a green T shirt that has with a puppy, a kiddy cat and another puppy. This is badass. I love coming here every morning working with you all.
Y'all are awesome. Y'all make my job so much fun, and y'all have done so much for me obviously, I mean, come on, this is the least I could do, and it's beautiful. We love you. Slashed at home tonight after the movie, dancing around in my pea ja I love drunk Vinyl. It's the best scrap crap. How nice? Is that? Two? Nice? Too nice? We should pay we should like give it pay her bag. You should give her her gifts, okay, and then we'll do all our okay, all right, yeah, let's do it.
Then you do it. You're right there, that red one and then yeah, those two are the red ones. The last one. Yeah, this is exciting. Yeah, JJS present you know what it's all about giving for everybody else, not necessarily receiving. I kind of agree. As I get older, I'm more excited to give. I know, right, what did you get? J J? So this is peaking out the bag. I don't know who this is all they are from all of us. We all went in together on these sticking out the bag. I got a nice Beyonce
sticker. Oh my god, put it with fifteen formation formation of putting up the two middle fingers. Love it, love it, love it? Oh yeah, what did you get? I got it? Janet's the velvet. Wait a minute, it's just just like a book to like about her album. Yes, about the Velvet Rope album. Yes, that is probably my favorite album of hers. That album is so damn good. It's a thirty three and a third book. If you've seen Question of Control for Black Women
is a okay, from ninete eighty six onwards, The Truth. Okay, it's those tiny books about those albums. It's incredible. Yeah, little facts about the record. Yeah, and you can kind of listen to the record while reading about each Oh my god, and that album is so damn good. The Velvet Rope ninety eight, Oh thank you? Okay, yes, no, my brains is too big. Okay, I got it on air hat This is from the Renaissance Tour. Hell yeah, hell yeah, it's JJ on air. Yeah, and that too. Yeah y'all. Oh,

Well, she's gonna put it out behind her so we can it every day. Awesome, got a good poster. I see a Porky's two movie poster back in there somewhere. It's stuff going on in the last year. Porky with the eye looking through the hole. Yeah, yeah, it's when I did
my year in movies of twenty twenty two. I got one more, got a red wrapped box that says JJ on it. Okay, okay, it's a box on below, so he is it cocaine? Good being? Could it be cocaine? You do love cocaine? Guy? Thanks Jim you guys. It's it's money. It's like poor, thank you money. She's counting it. I love it, Oh, thank you that much on air it doesn't matter. One million dollars, just a lot, just a ton. We love you y'all. Outside for twenty four we're gonna kick ass. Hell
yeah, he love y'all. You you deserve all of it. A lot of Beyonce stuff. All right, what do we got? Says? Uh? You know? Do mine to you, guys? Because they're not like they're they're they're thoughtful, but they're kind of like, you know, maybe a little personal. But okay, what fun? Sam? What's what I got? You guess? You know? Yeah? There are gag gifts at the the Gifted Shade for the whole station last week all right, Kevin, Hell yeah, do you know what this is? And do you have it?
Okay? I saw this the other day. Uh huh. Looked at it and said, man, I got a couple other books I'm gonna get too soon, So you're aware of this. I am aware of this. What is it? Uh? The book is called Sellout. It's about the major label feeding frenzy that swept punk, emo, and hardcore from ninety four to two thousand and seven. And I looked at the bands at this covers on the back and I'm like, man, most of these are right in
your wheelhouse. Yeah, these are bands that honestly, So I just I got christina birthday book yesterday and it's oral history of that time period because it's called Where Your Voice Tonight and it's about though out Boy in My Chemical Romance. So bands I missed. I don't even really like those bands. They're like about the Age Your Younger movie. But I'm after reading that book,
I'm fascinated in this era. Yeah, I think music. I think the general synopsis is you had all of these bands like Blink one eight two, some of the Other Day, Jawbreaker to the Jimmy World right before they became
as we know them, you know, when they're like Green Day's. I guess first real major label album Dookie, which had all those hits on it, like they were legitimate, underground hardcore kind of uh bands that just played for themselves, and then these major labels discovered them and said, Okay, you guys can toil away in you know, relative anonymity and be true to
yourselves or follow our path and become what they ended up becoming. And it's kind of that mindset of the where were these guys were at the time, Like what do we do? Do we take the money and run? And some of them, you know have are still doing it and some aren't. But when Boy and My Chemical Romance get super popular, all those bands who are in the scene at the time were rolling their eyes at them like they suck, they're ruining the scene, and they're like, we didn't mean to.
We just happened to get on MTV and now we're popular and everyone likes us. Yeah. Yeah, it's a fascinating story. And thank you because I like books. Cool good Mikey appears. I have a book as well, like books, right, oral history of Dan Marino. Dude, I want this when you get done. Okay, by the way, but this thing looks fascinating to me. This I have that. It's great. Really
you read this. It's called this Isn't Happening Radiohead's kid A in the beginning of the twenty first century by Stephen Hyden, author of Twilight of the Gods. Wow, Dode, this is perfect. I need something new that I might not immediately picked out. I don't think of rock books too much. It's kind of a companion piece to the album kid A when it came out. You remember Radiohead was kind of like gott Lam based it in a way. But it's it just shows how far ahead of its time and how relevant
that record is now. And they tie it into a lot of events that were happening in what is now history. And uh, that book looks really really smart and really interesting and I cannot wait to read that. This looks like a couple of days, a few days ready, that's amazing. Thank you, welcome, You're welcome. You what Let's let's stay on time. We'll finish a couple more gifts. We'll play the strip Mall Steve song and
a special gift for our audience to end the show today. Next on ninety seven, won the Freak
