They were from
Heath and they drove down like ten minutes. But the husband here in this relationship had drove ten hours to the one in twenty seventeen, and he said, I was willing to do it again, but this one was easier ten minutes. But they homeschool their kids, and I did think it was very odd and I have many questions about homeschooling now. If this is what is in the science you know, in the science class of homeschooling, if this
is how they're doing it, I have big questions. Nia and sam Raid are there from Heath, y'all didn't really have to drive that far to experience this. Talk to me, how you guys are feeling right now? Tower or at the one of the places it was. I don't know how it's wired, but he was up there, and they were you know, we're gonna hell these things. We're at ten minutes away though. But traffic, we were warn traffic is gonna be a bitch. Oh, do not go downtown traffic. Boy. They show the camera of seventy five. There's no one on the roads. I'm noticing I'm starting to see more of the traffic with their headlights on. That is thirty five E coming south towards US
and there's just not much. There's not much traffic out there. It's a workday. It is a Monday afternoon. Another thing we're noticing is that a lot of the buildings in downtown have people on them. They were just filling time, they were just trying to get there. It's amazing, not not. His commentary wasn't much different than the little kids they interviewed a minute ago.
So totality happens. They've got the there's people on them. They've got the anchors down there, and Samantha Davies, the weather lady, is down there with them. But Rick Mitchell, the chief meteorologist, he's stuck on Reunion Tower, and uh, you know, he wants to talk. He wants to get in the mix. Here there we go. Oh my gosh, there it is. I'm looking for venus. I see an airplane. I bet those people are getting quite a show right of Oh, there's blown

I mean, this is just incredible to watch the darkness settle in and the sun set. So those you who don't think this is a big yeah. Yeah, I'm not killing them because the coverage is great. I'll watch pretty much all the coverage of all the channels yesterday and kind of just blew through it a little bit too. But it was great. Bailey's beads is as the sunlight is actually passing through the deep lunar valleys, and were able to see that, that would be a bonus. And diamond ring effect is when you literally have just that tiny moment before totality and you see that kind of pinhead of light on the outside of the

These experts just freaking out of it too, you know, because dude, I like that because it's local news is the home of sterility, you know. out that came out maybe ten seconds before the rest. Seeing Venus was cool because you're so close to it. I mean, Venus looked like a near star. Yeah, it was bright. Yeah, it was cool. Oh did we see any pics from those people on airplanes? I saw a couple. Yeah, it's neat. It's a It's weirder though than I thought.
It's almost almost kind of like the ground view of it. I don't know if I've seen anything up close though while you're looking at that, Mikey, Yeah, I did see, Uh, darkness comes over that's land they I didn't think about that. There was a satellite shot or a space station shot that they did a time lapse showing just the the black shadow circle as it
moved north. It was really cool how it just kind of from space, how that looked just that little black circle just kind of blanketed certain parts of North America. Dude, amazing. It was wonderful, and I you know, you know, life is like I think I stared at the damn thing, and I looked at the dogs, and that one was I think locked in forever. I won't remember one thing that happened on Tuesday, April ninth, twenty twenty four. But yesterday, like that one is locked in.
I'll remember that. There's no down moment. Yeah. And it's funny because and I know Tim. We had a caller on yesterday. It was kind of cynical about it and talked about how there's no way that's gonna live up to the hype. I hate all the hype around it. And I kind of agreed with parts of what he was saying, and he's sense like, dude, I'll come on whenever you guys want, because I will eat so
much crow. But we talked about how this is kind of like something that isn't a historical thing and it'll we'll be forgotten as soon as it happens. I will never forget that moment. I will never forget what that felt like it if you missed it, I hate that for you because it's so hard
to explain in words. And when you hear these news people that you know, they're professionals, they're paid to be able to convey thoughts and ideas and in theory, to hear them, you know, grasp for words, to just reach in to try to come up with some way to describe what they're
feeling and seeing they're struggling with that. And that's how I felt yesterday and that's how I feel today trying to talk about it, because it was just an experience in the moment that you really don't know how to describe it.
