Aloha friends and mahalo! This week we watched yet another extreme sports DCOM. If you haven't guessed by jovial greeting, we watched the 1999 classic (that Taiwo can't remember?!?) Johnny Tsunami!
This movie is giving us thoughtful casting, POC leads, thoughtful discussions on race and wealth (#EatTheRich!), and of course all of the extreme sports two 90s girls can dream of! We're talking surfing, snowboarding, and the difference in 90s & current DCOM budgets. Were the budgets bigger then or now? And if it's bigger now, WHERE IS IT ALL GOING? (Hint: poorly mixed songs that are completely forgettable.)
