55. Take a step back (client expectations)

Veterinary dermatology can be frustrating and confusing... not only for the owner, but as the clinician managing the case. We need to make sure before suggesting allergy testing, diet trials, etc. that we have discussed with owners the purpose and commitment to those diagnostics. Sometimes just treating an infection and making a pet comfortable can be a great place to start! Dealing with allergies comes with several layers. Sometimes we need to take our time and address each layer separately.
