Astro Lab Brewing Company in Silver Spring, Maryland, opened just a month ago. For founders Emma Whelan and Matt Cronin, the grand opening was the end of one journey and the beginning of another, and the journey is what Astro Lab is all about. They share the ups and downs of nearly two years from concept to customers with Adam and Richard, and talk about what the journey ahead may bring.
Though Astro Lab is the second brewery to open in Silver Spring after Denizens, with the impending addition of Silver Branch Brewing Silver Spring is poised to become a haven for craft beer lovers. Emma and Matt share their fondness for their fellow neighborhood brewers and the sense of camaraderie they share.
