Episode description

Global sharemarkets declined yesterday and overnight. That's despite increasing confidence in US trade deals and data showing the economy there is strengthening. But we did see the US dollar rise and a rally in the bond market. US companies continue to report. The US healthcare sector was hit with a poor result from Novo Nordisk, weighing the category down. A surprise loss sent Spotify down 11.5% and that's likely to continue. More important will be any comments from the US Federal Reserve which will meet to decide a path on rates (not change is expected). We're also awaiting GDP and other data in the US. CPI data will be out mid morning in Australia, which could impact the market. Santos and Woodside made solid gains yesterday, but the uranium sector was a different story, with major Australian miners falling between 15% and 54% in the past five trading days.

Stocks mentioned include Boss Energy, Deep Yellow, Novo Nordisk, Paladin Energy, Santos, Spotify, Woodside
