The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has launched an investigation after a Quantus Boeing seven three seven's engine failed shortly after takeoff on Friday afternoon. The Quantus Sydney to Brisbane flight had to make an emergency landing at Sydney Airport. The airline said passengers would have heard a loud bang, which it said was not an explosion. The aircraft returned to Sydney Airport just after one pm after circling briefly. A Sydney Airport spokesperson said it is still unclear if the
two incidents are connected. Quantus apologize to customers for the distressing experience and said it will be providing support.
Outgoing US President Joe Biden has called for unity in his first public address following former President Donald Trump's victory over current VP Kamala Harris. Speaking from the White House, Biden said he had spoken to Trump to congratulate him on his victory and promised a peaceful and orderly transition. The President said that the US electoral system is honest, fair and transparent, and he emphasized that it can be trusted, win or lose. Meanwhile, President elect Donald Trump has appointed
Susie Wiles as his White House Chief of Staff. Wiles was Trump's co campaign manager during this presidential campaign. In a statement, Trump said Wiles had helped him secure one of the greatest political victories in American history. Her appointment does make her the first woman to serve in the key role.
Four Melbourne men have been arrested after they allegedly harassed two women in a public car park while dressed as members of the white supremacist organization the ku Klux Klan. Police alleged that the men, dressed in offensive clothing, verbally abused the women in the car park of a Portma, Melbourne shop on the thirty first of October. Following a warrant, police conducted raids across five Melbourne homes. Three of the men, aged twenty one to twenty five, were interviewed and later
released from police custody. They are expected to be charged with offenses related to serious racial vilification and grossly offensive public conduct.
And today's good News. Scientists at the National Science Agency the CSIRO have developed a new way to turn plants into oil, which they've suggested could become a new renewable energy source. Currently, the seeds and fruits of plants are used to make oils for cooking and to develop new
kinds of fuel. Under this project, scientists have found promising ways to use the leaves and stems of plants as well, meaning they can develop renewable fuels without taking away from what's used for food supply.
