A TPG customer has died after a Triple zero call failed due to a quote Samsung device that was operating out of date software, the telco said following the incident in Sydney last Thursday. TPG said Samsung recently identified the issue and that it had contacted customers to quote urgently update affected devices. New regulations require devices to be blocked if they are not updated twenty eight to thirty five
days after a customer is alerted to the issue. The most recent contact from TPG to customers was made on the seventh of November. TPG Managing director and CEO in our Qui Beroweda said the incident was quote tragic and that access to emergency services is critical. It follows a spate of recent Triple Z zero disruptions. Last month, the federal government announced plans to enforce new transparency measures requiring telcos to publish outages in real time.
Lachlan Young has been sentenced to twenty eight years in jail for the murder of his former partner Hannah McGuire. Young killed twenty three year old maguire in their home near Ballarat in Regional Victoria in April twenty twenty four. He pleaded guilty to murder after changing his plea eight days into a trial. In July, he was sentenced to twenty eight years jail with a non parole period of
twenty two years and four months. Today, just as James Elliott told Young that quote, the level of emotion and heartache that you have caused cannot be overstated. In the courtroom, McGuire was described as warm, special, talented and giving. Her mum, Debbie maguire, said, today's outcome is an important step in our journey towards healing. The UN Security Council has voted in favor of US President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza. The resolution establishes a Board of Peace chaired by Trump, and a temporary International Stabilization Force or ISF, tasked with securing borders, providing humanitarian aid, and protecting civilians. The ISF would also support a new Palestinian police force and supervisor removal of weapons
from armed groups like Hamas. According to the resolution, Israeli forces would withdraw quote once the force has established security and operational control. Almost all UN Security Council member states voted for the proposal during a meeting in New York City on Monday local time. No votes were cast against
the resolution, while China and Russia abstained. The proposal was introduced by US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, who called the resolution quote another significant step towards the stable.
Gaza and today's good news. Researchers in the UK are using AI to predict early signs of brain cancer recurrence. The University of Nottingham has received two point six million pounds or five point three million Aussie dollars from a charity called Brain Tumor Research to investigate glioblastoma, the most common and most aggressive type of brain tumor found in adults.
The study will use artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling to predict early signs of tumor recurrence based on brain imaging performed during surgery and combined with testing of cancer cells found at the Edge of a Tumor. Brain Tumor Research CEO Dan Knowles said the research will quote play a pivotal role to bring about the cure that is so desperately needed. Clinical trials are anticipated to begin within the next five years.
