Sharknets will be removed from fifty one New South Wales Beach on Monday, one month ahead of schedule, in response to increased turtle migration. The nets, which are managed by the state government's Department of Primary Industries DPI, are installed in September and typically removed on the thirtieth of April. However, the date has been brought forward for the first time

since nineteen eighty nine. It comes after the DPI found less than six percent of species caught in the nets over the twenty twenty four to twenty five season were target white and tiger sharks. The annual report showed two and three animals caught in the meshing, including rays, turtles, dolphins and whales, did not survive. Dpi's sharts mark programs that increased its net inspections from every third day to

every second day in February and March. It's also trialed lights on nets to quote deter turtles and prevent their entanglement.

As a precaution, all his scheduled engagements of the day were canceled. Palace officials announced the King had been diagnosed with an as yet unspecified

form of cancer in February last year. The seventy six year old visited Australia for the first time as king in October.
