At least five people are dead and thousands of homes and buildings have been destroyed as fires continue to rage in and around Los Angeles. High winds of over one hundred and fifty kilometers per hour are fueling three major wildfires, with fire crews unable to contain the blazers. It's prompted evacuation orders for over seventy thousand residents from areas including Malibu and the Hollywood Hills, while state of emergency remains
in place for California. Smoke pollution from the extremely critical fire weather conditions has created hazardous air quality, forcing the closure of several schools across La County.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanesi has announced a two hundred million dollar plan to boost housing infrastructure in regional wa. Speaking in the state's far north, Anthony Alberanizi set more than thirteen hundred new homes will be constructed across the Wheatbelt, Karratha and Lockier regions. The government also plans to fund infrastructure such as cultural and sporting hubs, town precincts and
parks in these areas. Meanwhile, Opposition leader Peter Dutton is in Queensland where he promised to match Labour's pledge to upgrade the Bruce Highway. It comes after the government said it would spend seven point two billion dollars to make one of the country's most dangerous stretches of road safer if it wins reelection this year.
A twenty three year old man who went missing for thirteen days in Kosiosko National Park has released a statement after he was found by hikers yesterday. Hadi Nasari thanked emergency services crews for their quote tireless work searching for thirteen days in tough conditions to locate him. It comes after New South Wales Police confirmed the discovery yesterday, saying they were elated Nazari would be returned safely to his family.
Three hundred people were involved in search efforts to low kate Nazari, who has also thanks to the public, his friends and family for their well wishes. He said, as I continue to recover, I ask the media for privacy at this time.
And today's good news a breakthrough blood test could change the way endometriosis is diagnosed. Endometriosis or ENDO, is a disease when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in other areas of the body. It's estimated to effect at least one in seven women and can cause chronic pain and fertility issues. Currently, ENDO can only be diagnosed with surgery, but OSSI researchers have developed a new
blood test that could provide a non invasive alternative. Findings published in the journal Human Reproduction show the test identified the early stages of ENDO with strong accuracy. Researchers with the Royal Women's Hospital and the University of Melbourne called it an exciting advance in the diagnosis of this quote debilitating disease.
