Elon Musk and 1,000 experts call for 6-month moratorium on AI development

A thousand experts, including Elon Musk, have asked for a six-month moratorium on AI development, writing that “powerful AI systems should be developed only once we are confident that their effects will be positive and their risks will be manageable.” This comes at the same time as a report saying as many as 300,000,000 full-time jobs around the world could be automated in some way by the latest AI. But there is something to be hopeful about: in the midst of such technological and cultural transformation, we’re living in a day of unparalleled spiritual transformation as well.
