Thanks again for joining us kind of fix from all the way into that. Yeah, the in no man's land in Le whoo, in Australia. Casino, well, the way down the milonga Gilbert Chuck. That is it. You will have the pictures. You sent me a lot of the high grass there. It's just, I can just imagine one of some of the local animals or natives just popping up and trying to attack you mate and I'll skin you alive. I didn't have a close encounter. Do with the cat, did you?

Yeah, it's not right up on me. The feral Beast. Was he instigated and I definitely Barrel. Yeah, just like being stranded, just like being in Japan. It's same thing. They stray cats are way way way scarier? Yeah, little shit. So keep crapping on my lawn until I told my wife tell the bloody that, you know, she's part of this, you know, like local committee kind of thing. I said this Talent like the next time I see a bloody cat on my lawn a Time, No, bloody kick it, up the ass. So hard.

Like, I thought ball. I'll just kick it. I'll just very contentious something every country. Yes, yeah, a human problem. Do you like cats? It's not that. I don't like cats. I do like cats. I just wish people would keep their cats inside like we did. Yeah. So they don't let him outside more. It's definitely gonna have to be a little one day. Yeah, that's crazy. In Japan with cats. Anyhow, we're sort of really deviating off orbit or what we should be. I'm bad, and that's what's been

happening on this cordmate. What's been happening? Yeah, social online. What's been going on? Yeah, it's been pretty crazy, lots of activity. Obviously, I'm just going to recap some stuff from recent times. So if I skip over something you've done in August or a bit earlier, my apologies, but it's a time thing, really? I mean, there's been that much content uploaded, recently. It's been fantastic, especially the call of the crown. Challenge.

The amount of people who have like, signed up are working towards it etcetera. It's nuts. So, highly recommend you pop on the Discord and have a look at that are recently. We've had so many people finishing off squads of stuff. Like, for example, Jody Watson finished off a golf, orc mob, and like, they're basically like knobs. And they've got back banners, he's painted them in Sort of second edition. Almost Rogue Trader style that they're really beautiful.

He's got some really excellent terrain and I believe you had a nice really cool. Shot of them up near some Helen Griffin's that he painted as well. Very impressive really like the second edition. Aux so one of the most beautiful sort of armies from that era has been heaps of Man O'War stuff recently dread acts. He's been working on this like really beautiful Oriental sea, dragon and Albert who is someone who does a lot of 3D modeling

for man. Or he's been painting up his custom designed or core Fleet that he's modeled and printed and painted. And they just look. Excellent is really cool. Shark torpedo launchers. Very impressive, really like that. And we've had a bit of activity, with like, the war Master sides of things. So, for example, Joe Guardsmen he's been working on High Elves, We had some really like cool

high off arches recently. If you scroll up you'll see like the sort of progress that everybody's working on. It's almost like a rolling Diary of what everybody's working on this really cool whiskey and wizards. I mean the guy everything. He touches turns to Gold kind of thing. Recently, died, revenge of squad. Perfect like codex, every metal quality stuff, as usual, just stunning makes me feel shame. A shame of the stuff that I paid, but It's also inspiring.

I'll man paint has been doing a lot of really cool stuff recently, especially like, I really like his walks, but you have to forgive my ignorance because I don't know what some of the the following models are. But they're like, Roman Centurion halflings. And they have like a goose among them. I think it's a goose. Looks like a tactical goose with a backpack there. The pain and really, really well. They're beautiful little models. Who got a lot of character.

Each model is like really an The jewel piece of art, beautiful stuff and roll for wounds. I'm assuming that these guys look like he's painted these trees guys, and they remind me of the blackout of crew. I don't know what models they are, but they're really, really nice, really good work brush of resilience. He's been doing a Wood, Elf Chariot and you can see the bits. He's working on. It's just stunning. Excellent work, perfect. Highlights kind of thing.

Cassatt has been away from the Discord for a while but he's popped up some like Lambie and vampire vampire S, I guess, really beautiful model disgusting as well. But if you like Empires, you know, a lot of people got that weird fetish and a huge block of skeletons. They look really cool. A lot of like sort of character

and their skeletons. I think they're a bit more modern skeletons than the old Plastics, but they look fantastic voice Tran. Working on like re-gear, a trade, like a regular era, Rogue Trader era, Crimson fists. You have to forgive my schnoz. There's a lumber mill in the background. You can probably hear it. It's the model that I saw recently was like a guy to Bob pistols and a backpack. That's a definite unit that you can use in Horus heresy 30k as well as 2nd Ed, which is really

cool. If you got old models that use for second edition from Rogue Trader, Etc. Most of them are going to be able to slide into that newer game system as well, which is cool. I really like that now epic, a lot of people being playing games of Epic and posting up, really cool pictures of battles. That's something I like to see if you can squeeze out like a little battle report even better. But I saw Malkovich has been playing, like, Marines versus needs. Always could see I hardly ever

see epic tyranids. They sort of release them at this sort of tail end of Titan Legions that Hive War, very cool. Obviously, I'm biased and Sam. 0096 post up some really cool pictures of Orcs vs W. Look like a bit of a Slaughter on dries, working on night Goblin. It's kind of his I guess test model for how he wants his night goblins to look at the detail and And the highlighting just superb. Amazing. Good work.

Then now, there's been a lot of remote gaming lately with Chris Snyder and Marcel obviously, like helping. With the bulk of that blood Bowl, space, Hulk, Hero's Quest Warhammer Quest. We're basically using Discord over video, like, video play, and using a microphone and video, and rolling Dice, and playing the games over the Internet. It's Really, really fun. I got to see it on in one of these like Classic Heroes quests Maps where basically every door you go through teleport.

You to a random location and you've got to find like a big treasure. Hoard is really, really fun. Especially when two models occupy the same square from teleporting. It's going to, it's going to hit and wound. You, it's very funny, very funny reminds me of old video games now JT I put up a really cool story about a game. He played recently Of Orcs versus Beast man, that's in the Warhammer fantasy section. Recommend you pop in there and read.

It's just really fun stuff like shamans being stuffed into giant sacks and things like that really intense, really fun. Yeah, that's what that game is about. I never played fantasy, but always loved reading. It never had the patience as a kid. Now, I appreciate it. No muscle. I'm not going. You just broke my sales hard. They might come on, I'll get on your stations that have uh you play it. You play war hammer and I'll get Marcel to play confrontation and then we'll make that pact.

Okay. I'll have to pop in the paint and chat and have an argument with him now. David h-he's been doing these excellent models that he's hand-sculpted based on the horned rat. Shadow of the horned rat video. Game. Which when we were kids, that was one of the first sort of Warhammer games that came out that and the epic game back in the day with fantastic hard really, really cool. It was the sort of first foray into.

Well not the first parade like there was all the stuff like space Hulk and and space Crusade. But these were the sort of like modern iteration command & Conquer era sort of video games. He's been making models based on The Imperial swordsman, you can get them. Pre-order them at imperialis Miniatures. Really, really cool. Definitely I would check that out. So it's imperialis Miniatures. That's that's like a short recap of Discord.

The other things that I need to mention was Vallejo has basically entered The Fray into the sort of contrast paint world of the called Express paints and one hit. Go. I believe he mentioned that in a recent video. I've seen a model painted with Express paints and the model in question is very very nice. It's like a halfling or something and they've said that they just used nothing but a white primer Express paints and then a white paint to sort of highlight up from that.

And if that's true and you're half decent painter. Wow, like you know, it if I had the choice between buying Buying a Vallejo Express paint bottle. If it's in a dropper bottle versus the contrast paint pot from GW. I think I'm going to go for drop a bottle because my God I have bumped and knocked like half the contrast out of a pot. Once drove me insane. Yeah, what's wrong? I don't know. What's it'll, you know why they

keep doing the flip top ones? When obviously, the drop a bottles, I just walked far more Superior and like keeping the paint in the pot keeping it like actually alive. For like years and years, like, Vallejo paints, they'll stay alive for over a decade, whereas the fiddle paints this won't last that long because of that, flip top lid, and yeah, why they keep going with that. I don't, I'm not really sure.

Maybe they would like some massive contract with it contact with him, just, you know, pre-ordered like a billion flip top lids and they just cannot get out of it or something like that. But yeah, I know the Vallejo Express pants are really promising. Plus, they're doing a new game color range as well which looks really nice from the photos. I've seen that the pots are The vibrancy of the colors look really, really nice. So I'm very excited about what that's going to bring to our

painting tables in the future. So I've not tried contrast paints, but I'm definitely going to do the Leo Express and see how they go. Yeah, man, and I got a 3D printer, type bloke in Victoria Colts of moravec. His on Facebook. It's a print me to resin battlewagons. I'll send them in the post and Maybe if you're feeling lucky you can use some new Express. Paints on those battlewagons my do buddy. Also thanks man. Brian.

Thank you very much. No I you have to show them off in a game once you get them printed off because they're pretty cool models. Yeah. Yeah. That look that look. Amazing - yeah. Thank you. That'd be awesome. Should be there in time for Christmas fingers. Without any great. Now, I've got to get back onto my awk origami, and we just played a game of 40K, me and Paul with his new Dark Angels.

So So you haven't said, if you haven't seen that some of the YouTube channel, now, it's a really cool game. Yeah, we haven't played it for a while, so I was really rusty with the rules and we got, I know we got a few couple things wrong, not major things, but we just got a couple things wrong, like armor, penetration roles and that kind of things get like the big Dreadnaught battle and that kind of thing, but it's sort of it sort of it. Sort of what happened in the

end. It was like there's nothing would happen and we didn't realize that they had different armor, penetration roles, and that kind of thing. But overall A good game and we want to bring more games of 40K second dish into the channel in the future. But there's a I don't know if you're familiar with it kind of thing but there's a campaign. I think it's called storm of Vengeance. Yes, you do that.

Yeah. We're going to try to do that that we just need to but that looks like you know, not like the fifth edition ones. We had like really small, thousand-point armies. I think storm of Vengeance. You need quite a lot of stuff even for the very first battle, but it's all about Naz dregg. Egg and, like, the bad moon character, and Gaskell, tracker the golf guy against all the Dark Angels and yeah, it looks really really cool.

We'll just need to find some scans so that Paul can build up all the buildings and that kind of stuff to the sir the terrain for it. And yeah, looking forward to doing that in the future. So those battlewagons make will come in real Handy. Yeah, I think that would be really popular if you cover that campaign because that was one of the little ones from back in the day and, you know, it's gonna, I was going to ask you a few questions. Since about your battle. I enjoyed it.

I watched it. And you say yeah obviously when you when you first getting back into second edition this there's so much stuff. Like did you? I guess. My first question is, did you find it to be a bit bogged down and archaic compared to say epic rules? Because you're more used to reaction back and forth sort of thing, and finally left nothing of that, I think we've I don't think anybody like me and Paul have ever done OverWatch. Always liked the big mechanic in

second edition. Now, either. That's just been overlooked in, when I looked at the Battle report later. I thought why the hell did I put those guys? There's devastated guys on OverWatch and it's something that would have just kept forgetting about. So that's that's a very unique mechanic and second edition and something, we should really start using more because I think me and Paul had both opportunities of using that in the game.

But yeah, I don't I don't think it's really bogged down, I think it's pretty uniform light from my take on that. It's pretty easy. Flowing. But in this case, we had very small armies with like 1500 points of marine Army. So they're tiny so and I think I'm been doing with that. Yeah, it's cool. Like I'd really like 1500 points. I think, 1059 points are perfect. That's really weird. I want to play my games at but even the hand combat phase is like really quick and just easy.

Now it's at when we first got into it was kind of big clunky but now it's like you know, you know You get into it and it's all good now. So yeah, yeah, I guess my recommendation for people who are going to start playing second edition is watch some games that other people play like bringing battle and of course, around a command. And then make, if you don't already have a summary card because some of the 40K boxes came with like a cool summary like the turn sequence stuff like that.

Make one up, use the battle Bible which is a PDF that you'll find in place. Is like the swamis second edition will have a 40,000 second edition Facebook group. They have like a cool file section with all the old PDFs, use these things because there's all this little stuff, you'll forget, like just say you've got a squad of walks and you're charging five Marines, and those Marines are in cover.

You're getting a minus 1 because you're fighting against guys who are hidden it like not hidden but hiding behind an obstacle kind of thing. There's all these little minuses and pluses Buses that are easily overlooked even just going over all the rules, the demons have like a plague bearers have a swarm of flies which which gives you an ulti to fight against them. This so irritating, they kill stuff on a 4 plus, which is insane.

Goodbye carnifex. You know, there's the so many little things and if you're right that like make a little summary cards for your arm, you're going to do well and yeah, it was really good. I enjoyed that battle. And I want to see more but kind of things like Repo order cannons, they brought my God so good man. Like, when people ask me how to deal with Imperial title it is it's like, I'll take house Terminators man 1-Shot meltdowns and stop rape or autocannon, see ridiculous.

But if I, if I shot it falls Marines, he wouldn't get a save. It's like minus 60 Sabres in it, like, a strength late - it's like, I think it's, I think it's like, minus 3i sigh - with maybe - right. Sorry, but it's right is, that's right, so terrifying. Yeah, and it's the re-roll. The real thing? Yeah, the re-roll thing is that being one? Yeah. Yeah. So any, I'm not to spoil anything, but if you haven't seen it, please go check it out. You will be, you will be greased.

And your eardrums will be shocked to hear some really heavy metal from the 90s. So hope you enjoyed that YouTube allowed me to do it. So thank you very much YouTube and it wasn't flagged or band or anything like that. So, that's cool. In fact, it said I've got permission to do it. So there you go, so very nice. You probably hear more about throw in the future, then how he. Right. I think, I think you need bolt through over 40K, mate, like that. That an epic.

I think you just need that that those, you know, those sounds synergize so well with those game system. So, yeah, I think that's the goal of real heavy, metal, mate. Well ball, throw it in particular. I think they did so many great tracks especially from the realm of chaos album. So, yeah, I think I think we'll pick will have a pic of one of those. Each time you play a battle report, which would be cool. And, yeah, I've had a lot of fun making the videos.

I mean, that they do take up a lot of my time away from doing painting, and that kind of stuff. But I really enjoy doing it. And I'm and I hope I'm getting better at editing and and that kind of thing.

I'm actually learning stuff and that's another thing I'm going to talk about to because Facebook pissed me off because they change their, they did an update and Now on my phone, it's just impossible for me to navigate through it, which is a good thing because it means less time on social media and What I'm learning how to do stuff. So that's where my time will be going into the future learning how to make about things better.

So, and we've got a new phone. So hopefully I can now I can actually play games and have a phone in my hand and have another phone recording the games too, so that'll be really good. So that's, that's a big help. Yeah. So, but yeah, mate. Now today in our conversation we're going to have not an interview this time. But it's a Corded chat from a good mace. Good mate.

Chris Schneider in the states and Chris is going to talk all about remote gaming and his experiences with doing that like you know how we got started and the tips of you know having to do a successful remote game and then talking about some of his experiences playing the remote games and how that went. So I'm sure everybody will enjoy that.

And in fact I talked His last night on our paint and chat session with myself and a few other guys and I said make you should do this one like once every month. Just give us like a recap even. It's like 15 minutes of like your response is playing the game. I rather think people really enjoy that, you know? So as you can as you as you quote to live through the game's vicariously you know you can do that with your room.

People, stories about what happened and Recaps on games because obviously they're not recorded. So we don't actually get to see them, but it'd be nice. Nice, as if Chris can give us a bit of recap every now and again to set to say, oh man like this happen to this game was so awesome. You know, he rolled a six when you know my jeans dealer should have called him a new one but he managed to kill me in the end that kind of thing. So I reckon that'll be really cool.

Yeah, that's excellent. So yeah, I'm hoping we have more of those in the future. I think Chris is going to put together a whatever Quest segment for us as well. I've asked myself Josh in the in the Germany to do sort of a mighty Empires segment. So we will see that in the future, probably a break from interviews and more of these kind of hobby chat, kind of things. Now, if anybody else would like to contribute in some way talking about something that I'm really passionate about some

kind of game system. Maybe carnufex want to put together like a second edition one maybe or something like that. Talking about second edition and some Focus kind of segment or whatever, whatever it might be, you know, you can put it together, even if it's like 10 minutes, it doesn't Matter will stick it into the show and I think people would appreciate it 100% mate actually kind of fix. Yeah, you should get some your mate with the space walls.

What's his name again? Brand-new dog, Brandy dog. That's it. You should. You should sit down a brand new dog and interview him at some point. They'll be really good. So something like yeah, we're very yeah. Yeah, I reckon that'd be great. So yeah, gangs have to get the man catcher out and ambushed him somewhere, and pin him down, because he's very hard to get a hold of sometimes. Just just invite him down to Cocina.

Make this day a low in those in those tall grasses, and just grab him as he unsuspectedly walks past, who don't know, it's a yeah, no be good. Be good to have more more Community involvement in it because interview sometimes are not, you know, forthcoming all the time. So this is a nice New Direction that we're going in with the with the crown of command. So they'll be cool and I hope people enjoying the conference cast episodes as well.

They'll be coming after. We Fortnight as well in between the regular Kramer command podcast. So people who are interested in just just listening to people talking about confrontation or and I tried to splice in, you know, like how did you get involved in gaming? So obviously they're going to talk about 90s games because they're probably of that kind of vintage or age, and they got into wargaming through games virtual game system. So we'll have another one of those next week.

But I think that wraps up stood a mate. So thank you very much. Kind of excite know you were out there, working hard, mate in the middle Casino in Australia, there amongst the pigeons so well, their Blackberry pigeons aren't there and I can hear in the background The Crawling so to speak. Yeah, yeah. Penultimate Australian noise, isn't it? Exactly. Can I get rid of the bug is you take care of yourself and We'll catch you in the next one. We'll do. Cheers, man, and keep all the

content coming guys. Thank you. Okay, bye. Thanks again. Bye bye. Hey guys, this is Chris Snider from the United States. You might know me from the crown of command podcast Discord group. If you're not active in the Discord, you really need to get over there and get involved. There's so much going on channels devoted to different games. You can see what other people are working on. You can post stuff that you're working on. You can ask and answer roles questions.

There's federal courts, you can read about find out about what news is happening in the community. The YouTube channels. You can learn about podcast, you don't know about all kinds of stuff going on there. I'm here to talk to you today about an aspect of Discord that I don't think is getting enough love. And I want to promote that to you and that is the remote

gaming. Remote gaming is something that I got involved with a little bit ago and its really revolutionized my hobby life because it's given me an opportunity to play a lot of games that I wouldn't otherwise

play. So if you would like to play more games than you're currently playing, or if there's a game that you've never played, but always wanted to Or maybe you're interested in in buying a game or investing in in a new game, but you don't know if you want to take that step because you're not sure, if you're going to like it, remote gaming is a great way to kind of test drive a game and just see what you think of it. So today I'm going to kind of

take you along on the journey that I've gone through discovering remote gaming, and kind of where, where I'm at right now and what I intend to do, with rope gaming future. So the way I got started with remote gaming is I heard Josh talking about it on one of the podcasts. And at the time, I really wasn't playing. Many games I hadn't yet connected with any local gamers. And I am more of a game player than I am a painter.

I got is a hobby because as much as I like to play games I sometimes can't so painting gives me something to do in between playing games. But if I had a choice, I would rather play than pain. I saw that there was an article on remote gaming that Josh had written in the hero hammer fanzine, And by the way, check that out.

If you have it already, So I thought well this sounds like it's something I might want to check out, but I wasn't really sure how to do it. I was a little bit intimidated because I'm not very technically Savvy and I contacted Josh and I just, you know, ask them what kind of equipment what I need to, you know, to start playing games remotely.

And he got back to me and told me how simple it was and him, and I have been talking already about space whole, because he knew I Space Hulk. And it was something that he wanted to play. So he said, well, why don't you said something up? And we can, we can try it out. So, I got a tripod and I he said, I just needed my smartphone so that had my camera and my microphone right there, and I think he also told me that it's a good idea to keep your

phone. Charging. So I got a extra long charger cable and I said I set this up to play Space hall now, I chose my craft room because it's a small room. I can shut the door. I don't have to worry about outside background noise or disruptions. There's a lot of good Lighting in the room because there's a lot of windows. So Lighting is good background noise is bad. So I really wanted to try to set this up for you know, a nice, a

nice experience. It's a small room space Hulk even though it's a small board sections, some of those missions can be kind of sprawling. So I had some folding tables and I was able to set up the first mission and I set up my tripod. Next to the table and there's a little bit of finesse to try to get everything framed, right? You want to try to get your your framing so that you're as close to the the models and the board or the table as you can, yet still having as much in view as

possible. So I got that set up in space Hulk, spacewalks are relatively easy game to play remotely. I feel because there are very few models, so there's not a whole lot of confusion, it's easy to call out, you know, the date. You don't have to be able to see everything precisely, you can just say that that Marine up there in the far right corner. The other thing that makes space, whole nice was there were very few special components.

So we were playing space, Hulk set condition, so that uses special shooting dice. No, Josh, he didn't have those dice so it was pretty easy for us to make a translation to regular six sided dice. So, he was rolling dice on a six, it was a hit a five. What's a sustained hit? He also had a special diets, that was a separate color and use that as a jam dice. I think one was a jam, so he was pretty easy too. To work that out with the

components. Another issue that we were able to overcome was the idea of hidden information. So in space Hall, the genestealer player every reinforcement days is going to be drawing a blip token. So if I'm playing is that Marine player, I'll draw one of those tokens and I'll just hold it up to the camera without looking at it and turn my head to the side or up the camera. Can you see that? Okay, where do you want me to place that? And mean it may be Hope Place in

a deployment area. And then later throughout the game, if you wants to remind himself of what that token is, you can just say, you know, can you show me that token again? And I'll just hold it up, look away. And then, you know, that's, that's pretty simple there.

So yeah, we play through it all. I think we played six games which is like an entire campaign and man we had a blast There were definitely a lot of moments where I thought I should have been filming this because this is such, it was such a fun game. I really, I really enjoyed it and that's just because I like space for I like tactical games and space hopes definitely tactical but I think it's really good as a remote game because like I said it's a very few model count.

It's easy to see everything and and and call step out. There's no measuring. There's no It is very few special components that you need. So overall fun game, relatively Short play time. Had a lot of fun with that. Now we did have a couple like rules mistakes or roles questions and just for the sake of enjoyment sometimes we come up with a quick and easy solution right there in the moment and then later I'd look it up and then we, you know, change them for future game.

But yeah, really good game. I've played a lot of a lot of games of space Hulk since then with some First Time Players, I just played a game of space talked last night, actually, with my buddy and dries for the first time and we had a lot of fun with that. So yeah, Facebook was definitely

a success. So after that, I wanted to move on to some of the other games I have models painted for and I know there was a lot of talk recently about Manowar typical a lot of people getting involved in that game for the first time. I think it's because of the availability of the 3D printed models. So you know, I had some folks who said they wanted to try Manowar, they never played it before. So we set up a game of that.

Now when it comes to setting up and like framing that, I think the rules suggest you play on a four by four foot area, But if you know, man of war has a lot of components especially with all the ship templates and stuff so you're going to need a lot more room than just four by four. But since all the action takes place there on the Seascape, I set it up again using a tripod so I could see as much of the It's much of that table as possible.

Now I think I had to raise up my tripod three high so I could get a good good bird's eye view. But at the time I was stuck and I'm still using a tripod. So I had it framed as best. I could during the game eventually, everything is going to move away from the deployment areas into, you know, a lot of action at the center of the board. So I think at some point during the game's, I'll maybe slide that camera down a little bit closer, the board.

So you can see stuff better. As far as the off or out of camera, stuff with the templates, I suppose you have a couple options. The one game I played my opponent didn't have made a war. So I have some laminated templates for the man of war ships that I got from. I think it's the esoteric Warrior of Gamers, if you want to Google that. They have some really nice man of war templates that I printed out and laminated for like dry

erase. So I was using those to kind of keep track of Damages it went and then I would just kind of hold that in front of the camera so that my opponent can see, you know exactly what's going on at any time recently. I played a man working with Josh and he owns the game so he had his own template setup on his end. It was able to track everything like that.

So when you're hosting a game, a man of war or anything, if your opponent owns the game that can really help out if he doesn't own the game, that's fine, you can you can find ways around them. So for example, another key component to Manowar are the spell cards. So there's a couple options that you have there when I played with Josh. We both had our own decks of

cards. So when it came time to dealing out spell cards, since we had our own decks, we would just draw from our decks and that works fine for man of war, but I don't think it really makes a difference if, if there are two separate decks and play Another option would be if we both had decks or if we both had access to the cards, like for example, you can go onto the Facebook group and get a PDF of all of

the cards. And just be able to see what they are and even if you don't cut them out when it comes time to dealing out the spell cards I could do outside for myself. Do you also have for my opponent? And then just like I did with the blip counters for space, all I could hold those cards up to the camera. My opponent sees what cards have been drawn for him and then can just look at the printouts that he has to read the cards. If he I see him very clearly on the camera.

And then another option which I've done this before. Also, since my opponent didn't have access to any of the components, I would just draw cards for my opponent. Hold them up to the camera so that he could see them. And then we would just, you know, play like that with Manowar with Discover Cards. It wasn't vital that I keep hidden what those spells were but it's definitely more enjoyable, if I don't know, you know, Colin. I'm so forgetful. I forgot what I had seen.

You know, 30 seconds later anyway. So it doesn't matter. Okay. So another lesson that I learned playing Manowar was just how to navigate remote games with measurement and ranges movement and such and that was, that was pretty clear when Josh and I play the game of man o war and we both wanted to play Fleets that use the wind. So he played Bertoni ins, I

played High Elves. and, That kind of led to some, you know, some fun interactions there with with the remote player kind of seeing exactly what's happening and you know, man worst tricky when it comes to movement and the wind in that like even if you're playing face-to-face, it gets a little of little tricky. So when we would play remotely, we would just kind of talk it out. Like, what exactly do you want

to do when your turn? And as long as he was like, declaring his Of. Of what he wants to happen. So when we play, he had a galleon etonian Galley, that was far on his right side. And unfortunately, the wind was blowing in that direction. So, no matter where he was moving, it wouldn't take long before he was going to be going into the wind so to demonstrate that for him to see on, you know, through the camera, I just laid. Out a tape measure along the line of where the boundary was.

That he would be against the wind if he crossed that line and, you know, he would say like I want to move my Galleon around so that I can fire at those honk ships with my broadside cannons, you know? And and I would place a marker and this is another lesson either. I play some worker before I move any models, so that if I had to take anything back, you know, I know where we started.

And then I would just, you know, move it move the ship around measuring it using the Turning templates and say, okay. Well here's where you could go if you turn to the left and that's going to be you know, you're going to move into the wind so you can't do that. You know, we've just kind of talk it out and so that was that was kind of a cool lesson. I learned there in just being open, being communicative about what your intentions are and, you know, you're playing a fun

game. It's not a competitive game, it's not a tournament, so you're not trying to pull anything over on your opponent or sneak something Adam, you know, or catch them doing something wrong. Sounds like fun Manowar. I really enjoyed playing that game remotely. I think it works well. I haven't had any issues with it. So, yeah, I'd like to keep playing that game as well. Okay. So from Manowar, then I moved on to playing blood Bowl. I love bug.

Oh, it's like my favorite game and I just can't seem to find any local opponent. So, my friend, Andre has agreed to play Blood Bowl. So we set that up and because blood bowl is played on a finite space board. It's pretty easy. The frame that. Now again at the time I wasn't, I was still using a tripod. So if I had to do it over again, and the next time I play Blood Bowl, I'm going to be using it's a like an expandable arm. It's like an arm mount that I can clamp to the side of the

table and extend out over. So it's definitely a bird's-eye view directly above. I think that would probably work best. Just for a game like blood Bowl because of the small squares, small spaces, and the fact that, you know, one point you have models that are laying over on their side, can be a little tricky to see exactly what is

adjacent to what. So going forward, that's definitely what I'm going to do the dugouts, good placed off to the side and then if we needed to, it's easier just to pop the camera. Off the stand and move it over. See what's going on. Now we what we should have done, I trashed should have since he owned the game, he had all those components there. He could have easily have had a

dug out there and maybe he did. I don't like I said, didn't ask before we played though, I didn't think that he had the component. So I was prepared with like a little chart that I had made for what the dice result could be. So a role of one would be a skull, you know, or attacker down and to would be both down and, you know, and so on and so forth. But luckily he had his own dice. So we didn't need to do that. I don't think there was any other components that would have caused an issue.

We weren't using any of the cards from the death zone expansion. So, I don't know how I would do that. If I did use them, I probably Hold up the camera. If need be or hopefully, my opponent had his own copy that you could do that. Another. Thing I try to do when I play Blood Bowl was I was a little nervous that we'd be able to differentiate all of the models from each other because blood Bowl models, look very similar except for you know the numbers

that are printed on the model. But it's kind of hard to see from certain camera angles. So I put little number tokens down on the board next to each of the model. So, you know, my opponent could say, all right. I want to move number seven and he's going to block the guy in front of him, but as we played, I felt like those tokens were getting a little cluttered on the board.

So we took them off in the end, we didn't really need them, I thought it was pretty intuitive, just to call out stuff and say, all right, I want that guy, you know, to the far left, he's going to move, you know, so many spaces, and he's going to end up here. And you know, as we're moving you know, I'd kind of point now here then here. But as long as you're pointing stuff out communicating I really don't see any issue with remote gaming.

I haven't had any problems at all, you know, as long as you you communicate stuff. I think there's a lot of people that are a pretty anxious about remote gaming because they think that it's going to be very difficult with measuring. And with identifying things, it's really known. So the one issue that did come up with Bud Bowl was the time bubbles a long game, and remote gaming, just adds more time to it, because, you know, you have to communicate yet to move stuff

around a little slowly. So we played through a half of the game. And we could have easily said, well, let's just stop here. Make a note of the score. And, you know, any Trays or whatever and then just pack the game up and we'll pick up 2nd half another day. I don't see any problem with that, but it seems like, you know, we're all busy. So you kind of have to know going into a game about how long is this game going to last? And how much time do I have? So far, I think I've been able

to complete. Every game I've played in except for blood Bowl, but we still had fun. We played a half, it was good. But both definitely one that I want to play again in the future. Okay, so since Andres and I play Blood Bowl, he offered to then host to game for me and that was his first time hosting a game. So he wanted to play Warhammer fantasy and that was my first

time as a remote player. So I was able to kind of learn some, some things, you know, up until this point, I don't really know what experience the remote gamer is having, you know, except for in of questions I can Ask. I'm really worried about the remote gamer, see everything clearly and and am I communicating things well enough, but yeah, the game of Warhammer fantasy. That was, that was great. I had a lot of fun with that. The best part about that was I didn't need to have any of the

models. I love, you know, we're Hammer fantasy and I want to play it but I don't have any any armies. So the fact that I Andreas has like half a dozen or more armies painted this awesome because But we just play, whatever. So he let me pick what army I wanted. I pick High Elves and he picked Dark Elves and he sent me ahead of time the Army lists. So that was really nice because I had a predator out and I had all the stats there. I knew what everything did. There was really no other

components that were needed. So it went really smooth. I think at one point I was like, anticipating what? So I might need and I thought it what's going to happen if I need to roll a scattered I and I'm like overthinking this trying to come up with a solution and then I thought well the I'll just have my opponent roll it tight for me you know like it's not that it's not that hard, there's really no problem or issue that you can't overcome there wasn't any hidden info.

We were playing war hammer. See which is like if like the competitive addition or Community Edition, and we used magic in that game. So it was dice driven, not car driven. So, yeah, game, the game went

awesome. The framing, I was a little worried about because in order to fit this huge table, In camera frame, the camera had to be really high up and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to see everything clearly, but really, it didn't matter because everything is in like big blocks of units and I can see what everything was. So there wasn't there, wasn't any issue with that at all.

The one thing that I did learned though, and it was a cool experience was just how measurement and ranges and stuff work in a game like that. And I think again, it all comes down to declaring what your intentions are and just talk and things out. So, for example, there were some times when like I wanted to cast a spell and this the range of that was 24 inches. So I would say I'm not sure if I'm in range to cast this spell and my face would say, yes,

you're in range. And he wasn't cheating, he was just stating. If you were here and you could see what I'm seeing standing beside the table. You wouldn't know you are well within range. It was a little tricky for me, you know, because I'm seeing things from a bird's-eye, view and a camera. And it's hard for me to judge ranges and, you know, sometimes he would say no you're definitely out of range so don't even try to charge. For the same reason.

If I were there, I would know. And there was sometimes he would say it's a little close. Yeah, it's closed for him to tell it would be closed for me to tell. So then it's just, you know, up to my drama to risk. It did try to charge before we measure, so really, there was no no issues and at all with that. So yeah, that was a pretty good game. We actually play two games, we had a rematch. We had a High Elves and Orcs. And the house got super lucky with the rolls.

There were, there was a moment in that game that I just want to talk about. Andreas had a unit of Saboteur or boys, and they were moving around the flank and I knew he was going to charge my white lions with them. And I had a unit of Shadow Warriors that were kind of hiding out in some buildings, that that works were moving

around. So on my turn I said here's what I want to do. I want to move my Shadow Warriors so that they're in a position that if the or four boys try to charge the white lions, they'll have to clip the Shadow Warriors first and I want the Shadow Warriors to be able to be within firing range. And I also want them to be in a position so that if they are charged, And they would fully or stand that. The white lions would be able then to move up and counter-charge once that's

resolved. So I know that was a lot of explanation of exactly what I want to do. But he understood just through the explanation. Exactly where I wanted to place the models and otherwise, and I would have been saying, you know, I want to move my Shadow Warriors down and to the right. And then he'd have to point. It's, you know, a little further to the right, you know, no little further and I'm down. And now, that does happen.

Games for sure when playing mostly, you know, we often point to things and get you mean this one, you mean, this one and just through talking stuff out. It's pretty easy to get to, you know, where you want to be. But anyway, that worked out great. I had a lot of fun playing Warhammer fantasy. The, after the battle, we talked a little bit about what it would be like. To play Warhammer fantasy. Fifth Bert, like fourth or fifth

edition with the magic rules. And up until this point we've had been using some hidden information. So we were kind of brainstorm ways to get around that because with, with fourth and fifth magic, you know, you have your magic cards or your Winds of power deck. And we could have each had our own decks, but if we did that then we have two total Power Cards in play or to drain Magics. And you know, how would we do

that? Otherwise, and we talked about how one player could have a deck that they shuffled and doubt out the cards and then just he'll hold up the cards to the camera without looking And then the other player, the remote player could like, look through his cards and pull out those that have been drawn to him so that then he could see what he has. And that way, you know, you keep the Integrity of the deck. So that you have the same number of you.

Don't have an instance like that, we had to Total Powers, but it still has that hidden information there. So I'm sure there's other ways to do it, but that's just one solution. Kind of worked out between the two of us. Okay, so moving on from Warhammer fantasy, the next game that I've played remotely is Warhammer Quest. Now, this is the game I've played in the past and I really loved it. And I wanted a chance to play remotely.

It offered up some challenges, but I think it is an exceptionally good game to play remotely. By the way, if you Don't know much about Wareham request and you want to learn more to stay tuned because some point here in the future very soon I'm going to be getting some of the guys together and I'm going to record an episode on Warhammer Quest and kind of look at how the game plays and what our experience has been playing it and maybe tell some fun stories.

Okay. So as far as framing of Warhammer Quest when I was playing this at this point, now I had bought that data extendable arm and I can attach to the side of the table and really get a bird's eye view of the table. And I think that's really important because Warhammer Quest has a lot of components. A lot of different kinds of Miniatures. There's little tiny dice to Mark wounds off.

Of monsters as they take them. So you want to be able to see that clear, you want to be able to get really close tight. You know, shot of the camera so that extent of arm work really well for that. Another thing about where Hammer Quest there's so many components. There's a lot of bookkeeping that has to take place so people have to keep track of their wounds. They have to keep track of their experience and what kinds of magic items that they're finding along the way.

So in this case I was lucky enough that a couple of the guys they already have a copy of the game. So the first time I played I should take should back up the first time I play Warhammer Quest. We had Josh and carnufex and Tarkin who is Timothy from Canada. And myself, we played that was just like a one-off game. So we weren't really keeping track. All the extra stuff. We had a great time with that and I wanted to play again. So, currently, I'm running a, we're playing a campaign.

I don't feel like I'm like, I'm running it. Like it's like I'm a GM or anything because it really is a Cooperative game. We're all playing. We're all involved. Everybody's contributing So right now that's myself and Timothy again and Marcel was playing and Andreas and we play on Wednesdays right now. I think we're going into our third adventure and that's been

a lot of fun. So a couple of the guys have their own copies of the materials, whether they've got it the actual physical copy or whether they can you know, have the PDFs. There's something Sup and person doesn't have it, it's easy to hold it up to the camera, get a screenshot. And then, you know, that's what

you have. Oh, I forgot to mention, I David that he played with this the first time we played and then we had to do that, you know, just for will step up to the camera so he could see it. And, yeah, that worked out great. Even though Players don't have the components in front of them, it's really easy to get through them. All of the components are out there on PDF somewhere, so, you know, it's great. We can, we can just message someone in game to do that.

I rely on Marcel, to do a lot of that because he has access to like everything in the world. So yeah, that was that was a pretty good game. One issue that comes up with Warhammer Quest. More so than the others is the issue of scheduling and that's because instead of just having two players, you have multiple players so it can be tricky to get people lined up to play at the same time.

But so far, I think we found a good time that works for everybody and Now we're really flexible the game length can go a little long but the cool thing about that is we can do stuff even when we're not playing. Like for example, in Warhammer Quest there's events that take place when you're not playing. So like if you're traveling from one location to another, you have to roll and all these charts to see what happens.

There's a dense. They can take place in towns and all that stuff is done through charts and paragraphs in the books. So, we were able to do all of those town events last week, via a text chat. So I just sent a message out like a group, a group message.

And said, okay guys, we need to decide how many weeks are we going to spend traveling to the next settlement and We would make, you know, I would say, you know, somebody give me a d66 rule and someone would respond back and say 51 and then I would look up 51 result in the book and I take a picture of it and I would send it in the text chat so everyone could see it.

And it was kind of cool because we didn't all have to be there to same time and we could like interact with each other and interact with the game, you know, through that way. So it's just been really cool to see how we can overcome what you'd think of as like Impossible Game challenges, and you can do all the stuff remotely and it's just as much fun for me anyway, as if you were actually there, you know, playing the game Warhammer Quest.

They will say has been a lot of fun because, you know, you get all those people at the same time, playing the game and we laugh a lot and it's, you know, a lot of cool things happen. Our first game And then we played with our current group, the final objective. One of the Warriors had to dip a container into a magical Fountain and pull out some water, and our Berberian here order one, and the Magical Spirits deemed him unworthy and he was frozen on the spot.

So that was, that was kind of crazy but it's the kind of thing. You'd expect for a quest and we just picked up The next week with a new character, was a lot of fun. So yeah, we're have requests, definitely a success. So those are all the games that I have played so far. I love playing space Hulk. I would definitely play that anytime Manowar also ton of fun Warhammer fantasy. Again, that was a game, I didn't

play, but I mean, I'm sorry. I didn't host it, but I love playing it and I would definitely look forward to doing work that blood Bowl. Something I would definitely want to play more of might have to make some tweaks to the time but again that's the nature of the game. Okay. So what's next? My next steps for remote gaming, I want to get more Miniatures painted so that I have more options Right now, I have 5 Min of War fleets painted. I want to pay at least one more

so I can get more options there. I want to paint these thin, another Blood Bowl team. I have three teams Andreas and I played it works and High Elves. Don't have skaven I like to get some dwarves. Maybe paint it up to go. So Marcel wants me to paint his Bertoni and night character. I need to do that because right now he's just bare metal and it makes me sad. But yeah that's I want to get more Miniatures, painted more games to play.

I would like to try playing nectar Munda, that's going to be a challenge. And I know some people might say are you can't play next image of a boat LIE. There's just too much terrain. I have a pedestal stand which is just a little stand that can raise to, or lower to whatever height and it sits right on the table and my plan. Is I'm going to have that setup and I can pick it up and move it all around the table to any angle, I want.

And if I need my hands-free I just set the stand down or I can hold the camera in my hand. I know I was watching a recent game that Josh posted, I think it was what else versus the dwarves and it's funny because as I'm watching the game, I'm thinking to myself, Myself, wait a minute. He's holding the camera with his hand. Look, how steady it is. That works.

I could do that because I was afraid that if I'm holding the camera with my hand it's going to be shaking around all over the place and look horrible but with this stand but I can just set it down on you know when I need my hands-free I can do that. As far as line of sight, I have a little laser pointer. I can use that to verify with my opponent if a model couldn't see another model or not so he doesn't have to trust, you know. My judgment.

So there you go. I'm going to play that Commander pretty soon. I'd also like to play epic Space Marine. Some point. I have some models painted, not enough painted for a game, but I do that pretty soon. There's some question there about like hidden deployment. So what I think I'm going to do there is set up the board or what the terrain, take a picture of it, and send the picture with an army lists.

My opponent Will Roll to choose sides and then he can use like a markup and markup on the picture where he wants things deployed. Then when it comes time to play, I'll just set up my Army where I want and then he can send me that picture and I'll set up his army. So you know, there you go. As far as the Border counters, I think that we shouldn't be a problem either. You just marks down, what is orders are going to be and then tells me and then I trust them

and that's cool. Another big thing, I love to do for remote gaming in the future, is a campaign. I'd really love to do this. It would involve maybe other people so other people hosting. I mean, but we'll see. So right now, let's say I have six fleets of man-of-war painted, that means I can have a campaign with People. But that means I have to host because I own all the models.

Now manowar's nice because pretty much my high elf Fleet looked just like your high out Fleet because really, there's not much difference. There's only so many models out there. So if I have a fleet like the that I have six fleets and someone else has for fleets, the fleet's that we have in common, that means we can both Host for whoever those saying they're same games, same thing could be true with blood whole there's usually not much variation in

different blood Bowl teams. Once you get into some other games, I think it's going to be too hard to do a campaign with multiple people posting because again, a host has to have all the models for, you know, all the sides involved. But anyway, that's something that we can overcome. It's going to take a little bit of collaboration with some other

folks, but it could be done. so anyway, in closing, let me just say Remote gaming is something that you should get involved with because I'm guessing that you probably want to play more games than you do. You can play whatever game you want without leaving your house. I know sometimes I hear people talking about, you know, although drive, you know an hour to a game store and them till they set up the game and then till they play and tear it down and driving our home.

That's a lot of time, that's a lot of commitment but remote gaming is a way that you can play a game with without having to leave the house without having to paint a single model. If someone else's is, is willing and able to provide all that Stuff. So anyway, please get involved.

If you want to learn more, if you want to play a game, any of the games that I just mentioned, please contact me on Discord or Facebook and and we'll set something up if you are willing to host the game, I willing to play it. So you know, just kind of contact me and say, hey, I'm out

here and I'm available too. Host, you know this or that and then what I'd like to do is maybe put something up on either Facebook or Discord like a pinned, a pinned, message, or pin something where people could say this is the time zone. I live in. This is these are the games that I have available, the factions or the Army's that I have available that I can host. And that just gives people and not, you know, a reference there.

One thing I didn't touch on speaking on time zones, yes, It's tricky to coordinate with multiple time zones. However, the neighbor across the street who you play games with, maybe he work, second shift. Maybe he has a wife and kids like you do. And it's hard to coordinate schedules. I don't think that time zones. I really any different than your local game. You know, gaming friends, and their schedules. So I don't like to use that as a, as a hindrance for me.

In fact, I don't like, I don't like to think of any Any of these challenges is something that the roadblock, I think, it's just something that can be overcome and he's got to get a little bit creative to work around it. Okay. So that's pretty much my, my thoughts and my history of remote gaming. So, I hope you've enjoyed that. And again, stay tuned for more more content on Warhammer Quest and maybe other games that I'm

playing. Remotely. Hopefully, I can get some more different games in so all right I'll talk to you guys later. See ya.
