Episode description

At least 30,000 persons associated with Boko Haram have surrendered. For the authorities, managing defectors is a part of the broader non-kinetic and soft approach to countering extremism and the threat of violent insurgency. In today’s episode, we look at the relapse among Boko Haram defectors and how a lack of resources affects control, including other issues around the management of the disengagement process and the complexity around the factors fueling the surrender.

Hosted by Mariam Mustapha and Murtala Abdullahi
