So what is a “groundwater superhighway”?

A recent study has shown that up to 20% of floodwater on the east coast of Australia can be absorbed by aquifers, eventually getting into a 'groundwater superhighway' that stretches from Queensland to Sydney Harbour. What does this mean for the future of flooding and water security? To get some answers Cosmos journalist Ellen Phiddian talks to Dr Ben Mather, a Computational Geophysicist, at the University of Sydney.
