[00:06] Michelle: Hi. Welcome to the Conversing Nurse Podcast. Thanks for finding me. I'm Michelle, and I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my podcast. You know, I consider myself blessed to have worked in the nursing profession for 36 years as a pediatric and neonatal intensive care nurse. That's all I've ever known. And as you guys know, the universe of nursing, it's huge. And there are over 100 specialties in our profession. And I'm just excited that I get to talk to many different nurses through this platform. I speak to a nurse researcher, a flight nurse, and nurse educator, a nurse entrepreneur, and many others. So I'm thrilled for this new chapter in my book of life. And again, I want to thank you for coming along with me and learning with me about our great profession. Is our profession perfect? Well, that's a hard no. So we will also be exploring some of the issues within our profession, like burnout, bullying, things that I'm not proud of. There's going to be some fun, too. You'll get to know my guests' off-duty side because we all have one, right? I do a segment I call The Five Minute Snippet, where I set a timer for five minutes and we just have a rapid-fire question and answer session about some of my guest's favorite topics like music, food, travel, and philosophy. These are just to name a few. I'm an avid reader, as I know many of you are, and so I asked my guests for two or three book recommendations, books that have influenced them in some way, either personally or professionally, and then I pass those on to you. I'm really excited about this Florence Nightingale miniseries that I have in the works, which is based on Florence's book, Notes on Nursing What It Is and What It Is Not, which was actually a recommendation from one of my guests, Dr. Chris Patty. I can't wait for you guys to hear his interview, but anyone who knows me knows I love a good giveaway. So at the end of the series, I'll be giving away three of these special leather-bound, Lippincott editions of Florence's book. So that is something to look forward to. All of this information will be on my website, which will be linked in the podcast show notes, and you can listen on all the major platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, and many more. My Instagram is @theConversingNursepodcast, where I'll have more details and some fun stuff. And you guys, I know how much nurses love to give their opinions, give their feedback. So I'm excited that you'll have the ability to do that. You can leave me a voice message or as they are properly called, a Vox, and you'll find that on my website. So super excited that you can call and record a voice message because I'll be asking for your opinions. I'll be asking you to weigh in on things. So tell me how you feel, and you may hear yourself on an episode. I love this. So that is a little bit about what's coming up, and now it's your turn. Tell me about yourself, who you are, what specialty you're in, what you want to hear on this podcast because it's for you. Again, go to my website, leave me an email, leave me a voice message. DM me on Instagram. I just want to thank you again because I know how valuable your time is, and I feel really honored that you're spending it with me. I'm looking forward to this, and I will see you soon.
