Hell to Pay is nearly perfect in its debut and a wonderful example of how to do a first issue correctly. Captain Marvel is full of guest stars, action & great characterization, while the art does a ton of the heavy lifting in both Little Monsters as well as Old Dog. Jace and Rocky chat about the DC titles for the week of November 1, 2022. We get the debut issue of the long-awaited Marc Silvestri book teaming up Batman and the Joker. The latest issue of Dark Knights of Steel has a crazy ending you have to see believe. Also the fourth issue of Sword of Azrael gives us an all new origin for the Order of St Dumas. We get the debut of Punchline's solo series, Detective Comics continues to be moody and dark, while Batman Fortress continues to be compelling. Books of the Week are DC vs. Vampires as it feels like it building to the end of the finale of Catwoman Lonely City.

Jace and Rocky tackle a huge week of DC books with 17+ titles. Flashpoint Beyond #6 gets Rocky's nod for favorite title this week as it wraps up the series in a very satisfying way, but teases that there is possibly more to come, including new characters from the Golden Age. Jace singles out Nightwing 97, for it's gorgeous art, wonderfully humorous moments and a big shock ending.

Jace chats with writer Mairghread Scott about her latest project, Sea Serpent's Heir. This graphic novel is the latest in the Skybound Comet line of YA content, but make no mistake it is a rousing adventure tale suitable for all ages. Exploring themes of identity and family, it may also serve as a cautionary tale reinforcing the old adage; be careful what you wish for. Filled with gorgeous art and wonderfully complex and interesting characters, it is an absolute must-read.
