Hello Ladies and gentlemen , welcome to the Cologne Podcast .
I'm Mike and I'm Ryan . We're two best friends . We're going on a fragrance journey . We're smelling fragrances and giving you an uneducated opinion .
Yet today we got something we've been wanting to do for a while , and I think you do too , but I've been teased for months now since you got back from Milan .
That's right . I just love teasing you , getting you right to the edge , Ryan , and then not letting you squirt onyx on your skin . But today you are gonna do it . You're gonna get to smell onyx , my friend , I'm ready to squirt on my skin .
Yes , I'm ready to do that .
Yeah , well , don't squirt it yet . First of all , we've got to send a huge thank you to Chris , who was able to shoot this over to us , and because we were in Milan and he just smelled so good wearing it , I just kept talking about it over and over . Because we're such good friends with Chris from Fragmental , he was like Cheerio lads , I'll send one of .
That was the worst accent . He didn't ever do it like that . No , he did . I'm not gonna shoot . And if you're listening and you're jealous because you don't have a friend like Chris to send you samples , you've always got a friend like Mark over at MyFragranceSamplescom . That's right .

Yeah , he got me hooked on to this thing called Dutch Bros man . What'd you think ? It's incredible , he got me to get a Golden Eagle . What is it called ?
With the soft top . Yeah , a Golden Eagle with a soft top , which basically it's an iced caramel macchiato blended with cold foam on top . So if you're a Starbeast fan , that's basically what it is .
It's a slurpy , yeah , and the price is amazing . That's what I'm shocked at , yeah so I went through yesterday .
they gave me a little token that said you are seen , you are known , you are loved . Really , yeah , that's weird .
I know it . By the way , I had a better conversation , so their thing is , they like to talk to you a lot and I'm not a talker . And Mike was like , hey , this person's going to talk to you , yeah . And they were like , yeah , here here . You know , they treated me like crap that day .
I was trying to say , hey , this is like the Chick-fil-A customer service of coffee place , yeah , and yeah , it was awkward that first time for them , but the second time the young lady was really nice . It was a good experience and my Golden Eagle soft tops were amazing , well good , yeah .

Let me read you a review I found on Fragrantica , and it's a little bit long . We love that , I know you do . Okay , fragrance Weirdo has to say this is one of the worst perfumes I've ever smelled .
It starts out okay with the rose and patchouli combo , but then the patch becomes this orange , odd methylated vibe and it's vanilla all the way down . It's like somebody spilled their grandmother's rose perfume on themselves , then thought they'd try to cover it up by spraying their teenage daughter's perfume on top of it and then thought oh , what the hell ?
I may as well wet my pants too . Truly appalling . It joins a very select bunch of howlers that I had to scrub off . It is , however , quite tenacious In this case . That's a bad thing . This fragrance is a joke . Fuck , good lord .
God , that's definitely the polar end of the spectrum of all the hype you've been giving it .
Yeah , for sure , because every time I smelled it on Chris it was incredible , it was life-changing .
And this guy's like smells like you wet your pants .
Yeah , this is going to be amazing . I can't wait to smell it . But before we do , we got to go back in time to that one-night stand review . Ryan of Spice no-transcript infrared EDP hit the music , todd yeah .
One night stand review . Well , Mike , after spending the night with Victor and Ralph , a little , manage a twa France . Yeah , what'd you think about the new spice bomb , infrared EDP ? I loved it . I did too . I came back to it . Actually , we got a little decan extra here . Here's the unique thing that I've kind of fell in love with it now .
Ok , especially someone right now . It kind of reminds me of what the original used to smell like to me . I guess like when my virgin nose was smelling spice bomb for the first time , right , yes , like how the spice and how like heavy it was to me at the time . Now it's not so much . I feel like that's more now .
This could almost be what the extreme should be . Now I know the extreme is something a little bit different , right , it's more like the vanilla and stuff like that , right , yeah .
And it's a little bit I don't want to say screechier , but it has more of that like a stringent alcohol sort of burn to it that the original doesn't have . I feel like they could still get away with doing just a spice bomb EDP . Yeah , because the extreme does feel different , right it does . I mean it's not bad , it's great .
I feel like this is closer to a spice bomb EDP . But there's just something . There's a little bit of that beariness sort of a thing going on to it and I fucking love it .
Yeah , I said it was a buy for me . Then I'm sticking to it .
It's a buy now it wore great to , I feel like , the longevity of the fragrance over time . I just kept smelling it and kept smelling it .
The last thing that I've ever been impressed with with spice bomb was spice bomb the original , and then spice bomb extreme . Other ones have been kind of they're all right , they're not bad . Yeah , this one is actually impressive . I love it .
Yeah , it was a good release , man . All in all , if you haven't smelled it , what ?
I don't know . I was just thinking you're talking about squirts and releases Edgy is a bunch of stuff going on the sepulchre .
It was a great release , man . If you haven't smelled it as the listener , I think both of us would encourage you to go take a whiff , right . Oh yeah , definitely a sample . I would say I'd get a travel atomizer , no doubt , and I'd get it at myfragursamplescom and I'm not saying that just because he sponsors the show now .
He's actually legit . He goes and gets stuff from all the time .
I buy 30 mil of a Ventus . Yeah , we got some sit on the shelf right now . Once that's gone , I'm going to do it again . So it's both a buy then yes , I'd say so I'm not going to buy a full bottle . I would never use a full bottle . I wouldn't need a full bottle , but a little bit , let's do it .
I know it's kind of taking me back to our vintage days of working weddings . It kind of makes me want to like wear it hardcore .
Yeah , this next thing we've got coming up , we've got four strong days of travel . Yeah , Maybe we need to get a bottle of it , Just for old times sake . Really squirt it up y'all .

¶ Review of Inishio's Blessed Baraka Fragrance
. Yeah , all right , here it is . I'm diving in deep .
Mm-hmm . Yes , sir , I can smell it from here already , just from your , your spraying . Oh my god , yeah .
Interesting that .
That's right up your alley it's got some .
It's got some girth to it that's plowing its own road right now .
It's nothing better than plowing your own road . Wow God , this smells great . It smells kind of tobacco , yeah , kind of powdery , I don't get powdery , I get tobacco .
I feel that plum , though for real , oh there's plum in here , I think .
so it's definitely got some plums I'll give it .
Yeah , oh , my god , yeah , so it's . There's no like top , middle or bottom , this is just straight-up notes . Okay , rose , patchouli , argo , would vanilla , musk , plum , amber and sandalwood . I get for me . Dude , I do get this plum Ooty tobacco thing going on and it's very masculine .
Yeah , it's just like almost pulling up to a nice bar that serves like they make their own wine or something Mm-hmm , and you get a sample of something that's kind of plum wine .
Dude , I'm telling you , yeah , I kind of get that with the fan going in here , cuz , guys , we've talked about it for episodes in a row . Now it's hot as hell . Yeah , this fan is kicking this thing up , dude , it is so loud I don't have to put anything to my nose . It is going crazy .
I love this . Yeah , so far this is , I mean the initial opening here Definitely lived up to the hype . You know it is loud , but at the same time it's not this like crazy , like Burn in the air .
No , we've hit that with like some amages and things like that to where it was , like it was loud , but , no , not in a good way , you know .
Wow god , the cardstock smells like you opened up a bottle of wine to me or something . I don't know . That's how I kind of get I could kind of see that .
If that was a fragrance , I love this . Yeah , it is sophisticated , masculine dude .
I Bet you people went nuts for this when Chris was walking by oh , everyone without his shirt on . Yeah at the clubs down there , milan , when he was just walking around sporting a banana hammock and walking around with this thing .
Yeah , he wouldn't have had to wear a shirt . That guy's abs are like steel . I Rock solid . Yeah , you were telling me you were washing your clothes on . Yeah , I could have . He was giving me a piggyback ride on a motorized scooter and I was like my forearms were hurting because they were rubbing up and down on the rigid ab I'm used to , you know .
Standing behind Ryan and memory foam yeah , it's like a big oak barrel .
Yeah , damn , this smells so good . Hey , chris , when you wore this , you smelled incredible .
Yeah that smells amazing , dude , and it was so loud all night long it's all I could smell and I was so jealous I came back . This is one of the fragrances I kept saying like these guys smell so sophisticated , yeah , and I lean too simple into my fragrances and I think it's because I love simple fragrances Most people do .
I think it's easier , you know , on the palette , but smelling fragrances like this , those guys , they really leaned into these more sophisticated fragrances and for once I was like I need to grow up a little bit .
Yeah , you had that epiphany when you came back . You're really downtrodden yourself about it . I think that's why I really loved Evening Mystique .
It kind of leaned into that . It's easy on the nose but it was a little more sophisticated . I was like I got to get a bottle of that , but good Lord smelling this .
It smells incredible . Yeah , honestly , it's like my first like wow moment with Inishio's Blessed Baraka . That one smelled like communion wine . To me , right Like . To me , this smells like you just opened up a wine bottle or somebody set you out to like test or something at a bar .
It's rejuvenated that excitement about fragrances right yeah , Because when we smelled that that was early on and we were just getting introduced to niche type fragrances . This is impeccable . I'm shocked . I don't think it's over complicated , though it's not challenging enough that people couldn't wear it .
Yeah , I don't think that either , in fact , because it's not that just straight up , donkey , punching you in the face with like something really loud . It is loud , but it's like pillows . It's like hitting you like a pillow .
Yeah , it's like a pillow fight full of fragrances . Yeah .
It's like you know it's coming at you fast but it lands so gently I'm impressed . I know I'm kind of let down that the trend is kind of meh . Oh yeah , it's trying to kind of meh , but maybe that may be because that's not the biggest well-known fragrance house at the moment .
I think here's what I got to say . I feel like the fragrance community is a little bit fickle with things that are a few years old . I think they're always looking for the next new thing . That's with everything , though . Okay , I can't just pick on fragrance heads for that . You do that all the time , do I ?
I don't know . I just want to be mean to you .
Maybe I don't know . I'm like a driving old truck and I wear the same clothes I've had for years . Not really , yeah .
I've been trying , I've been hounding you to fix your fucking windshield for two years now .
Yeah , like I'll swear to God , I'll get it done . Massive crack at my windshield . I just stay so busy I don't ever have time to like just have a down day to just go replace it .
And , by the way , this is $240 for 50 .
ML . Be real , and I mean be 100% honest . Do you think it's worth that ?
I mean , if I think something like initials Blessed Barakas worth 320, . Yeah , I could say this is worth it .
I agree . This is one of those fragrances I feel like is smells amazing and as strong as hell , and I've just seen it be so loud for so long . I feel like you really do get your monies worth with a fragrance like that .
Dude , it's something man I love . Where it went , it's going somewhere . It's kind of the plum has kind of downed down a little bit what it is . Like , that's what I smell is the plum in the beginning . What have we become , ryan ? I'm not trying to be a sell out here , I'm just like . I just yes , the plum is really OK .
That's way easier to associate with than the labdumum and the sweet jasmine grass .
I mean , it was fucking yeah , I don't know what that shit is .
The rhubarb Is rhubarb candy . I don't even know what that is . What is rhubarb for real ? I don't know .
In my head I think it's either something like a beet or a giant plum type thing like a bitter plum . Look it up .
Rhubarb . It's got a bee , it's a fleshy edible stalk , a species and hybrid of whatever that word is . Cookies rhubarb plant yeah , it kind of looks like a little skinny beet . There you go . I don't know what the fuck that smells like , but anyway , yeah , plum though everybody's eating a plum at some point .
Hey , the funny thing about rhubarb is extras in movies . They have them quietly mouth rhubarb because it's a English word that , when repeated , looks like a variation of multiple words .
Don't say the word For anybody . Listen . I just watched him mouth the word . It does look like you're talking kind of weird .
That's hilarious . There you go .
Oh shit , you know we didn't forget to skip it . Sample it by its section , the bottles . We've always kind of liked the bottles for this guy . I love .
yeah , as far as branding goes , A-T-H has got it on lockdown .
Yeah , we had raw cherry . Right , we've had raw cherry , odyssey and slut , sent to us by listener , I believe , mike , but thank you again for sending that . And man , yeah , all those little bottles , they're beautiful . He gives like little whatever , the little 10 mil ones , whatever .
So , yeah , I love the whole presentation with this thing , which now leads me to ask skip it sample it or buy it .
What are you going to do , Ryan ?
I can't come out of pocket $240 , but but I will say he sells a 10 mil on his website for 50 bucks . That is an easy investment to at least try it see what kind of reaction I get from other people . I think it's going to be pretty juicy and that's the route I'm going to go . I will get a 10 mil of this .
Yes , we've been tempted to get one for a long time now . Yeah , because just that experience , honestly and I think that's what makes this fragrance so special is it is tied to a memory .
I had a great time without you in my lawn , yeah , and so I have this fond place in my heart for this fragrance , because every time I smell it , I'm like holding on to a very strong , very nice , warm , energetic man laughing , having a great night . It takes me there , yeah .
You guys should have seen when I picked him up from the airport .
Yeah , I was like a four year old and toys are us .
Yeah , once I got him in the car and he started eating some Italian chocolate . He was fine man . This is a great one . I'm shocked . I shouldn't say I'm shocked . I definitely am pleased that all the hype was delivered . Sometimes we get overhyped . Blue Atlantis we get overhyped and they're dog shit . Yeah . But this one was dog , something that's positive .
Yeah , dog kisses . Yeah , dog little puppy kisses . Yeah .
I mean , did I overhype it ? Do you feel like overhyped this ? No , it's actually really good . It's incredible . It's a buy for me on the 10 mil side . Again , it's going to take something super , extra special for me to want to go bottles deep yeah , but this is definitely worth a buy . Try and work that .
