Most people think sales are toxic, yet sales are simply an exchange of value.

When you go to the store and you are buying something, you then exchange money for it. This is the same for online sales.

When you are simply showing up to offer value, solving a problem you have gone through to provide a solution for others is simple.

In this episode, I go through how to share stories of the hardships you have gone through and how to link this to an offer, so you can help people and receive sales.

However, as I go through the episode you start to realize it’s so little about receiving the sales and much more about building the empire

It’s about BEcoming the hero you wish you had when you were in pain.

Yo, what's up, it is episode 19 of the Colleen Gallagher podcast, I'm super excited about this and so grateful. Because today we're going to talk about how to generate sales from an online business. So, I know this is a little bit of a controversial topic, because a lot of people that I meet are like sales is bad, they think of like a, you know, sales cars man, or they think of specifically people trying to manipulate them into doing something they don't want

to do. And I do believe in the way that the world is function predominantly in the past that we functioned in a very masculine kind of toxic way where it was like, I'm gonna specifically go out and try to sell you something or try to get you to do something that you

don't want to do. And specifically, since men and women, men were more predominantly in business roles, men wouldn't actually hear women may be saying no, or they wouldn't actually hear them say like, that's not what I want, they would keep pushing and

pushing and pushing. And so there really is a whole different frequency that's been emerged our birth in sales, right now, especially in online business, and then even just in business in general, with corporations and small business owners like everyone's having to pivot because of COVID-19. And just countries, you can't travel between countries anymore for some time, like, there's just a lot of different things going

on. And so I really wanted to talk about specifically, as I believe the best way to do business is through having an online platform, or at least having some type of online sales. So you can build a community of people. Even if they're not in the physical location, they have a way to receive information, they have a way to learn about different things that's outside of the actual vicinity that they're

living in. Because, for me, specifically, I wouldn't have been able to learn, evolve, grow, if I didn't travel to nearly 40 countries by the age of 26, or over 40 countries, sorry, I keep forgetting and I like I did like count one times, I thought it was 35. And then I realised it was 42. And I keep forgetting to upgrade my

language around that. So anyway, what I wanted to share those, I wouldn't have been able to realise what was possible for me, I wouldn't have been able to see the communities, the types of people, the miracles, the incredible products, the incredible services, the incredible communities people have to offer if it wasn't for online businesses, or it wasn't for using technology, for people to share their stories for people to share their guests and people to share what's possible

for them. And so, to me, sales has actually really transitioned as I've been in sales since age 17, of kind of getting people to do this thing to reach a sales number to reach a sales quota into understanding how much value I can offer to someone how much I can be committed to transforming someone's life. And then that commitment that I have, will then come back to me and a boomerang effect of more than enough abundance being in my life to fully support whatever it is that I'm wanting

to do. And so basically, let me tell you about this when when someone or any business receives a sale, all it means that is that value was exchanged from one party to another. When you go to the store, you're receiving value by getting whatever products you need. Well, the same is online, people only click on your link lor, learn more about your knowledge when you're sharing valuable

information. So how do you deem something to be valuable is probably the question you're asking, or how do you start doing that? Well, as I shared in the episode Previous to this, that the only thing you can buy in life is time. So people are looking to buy connection by confidence by experiences that they themselves cannot do. So for example, I wanted to travel the world I couldn't go buy and buy this thing of getting all

this knowledge and culture. From one person I knew that I had to buy a flight I knew that I had to buy this this time of being around different people, different cultures, different mindsets. And from that experience, I've created a mindset for myself and a heart for myself that other people naturally want to be around.

People want to learn from how I think people want to learn about the solutions that are coming through maybe the advances that I'm making the the ideas that naturally come to me because I've put myself in such a global diverse place at a very young age, but because I bought myself those experiences and that's what I was looking to buy I wasn't looking to buy a tangible piece of clothing I knew from a young age I wanted to buy experiences because I knew that from those experiences it would

evolve me to a certain type of person to a certain type of place that I couldn't get from being in the same same place. So what I want to ask you is what is it that you want to buy? Are you looking to buy connection? Are you looking to buy confidence are you looking to buy overcome loneliness? Are you looking to buy like what is the actual emotional thing that you're looking to buy? Like, you know, when you Go to the store. If you're buying food, you're

looking to buy health. If you're buying water, again, you're looking to buy health survival. If you're buying supplements, if you're if you're getting oracle cards as I have my Oracle deck, you're looking to buy peace of mind. There's all these things like we're not actually buying the product or the service for we're using that to buy an emotional need that we need. And so you want to look that online, people are simply you know, obviously posting, there could be superficial things. I

don't really see those. But I know that that's available for people. But what is it that you are offering in an online place that is emotionally fulfilling someone else's needs that is emotionally allowing someone else to see life differently? And what I want to ask you is you may be asking, well, Colleen, I hear what you're saying, I logically get it. But how do I do that? How do I share something to meet someone's emotions? Or or to do offer that to offer value exchange? How do

I do that? Well, I truly believe the best businesses are those that start from the heart. And starting from the heart means that you are simply providing a solution to a problem that you yourself have gone through. I haven't really seen many businesses that are thriving, and the owners soak are happy that they weren't actually providing solutions, providing products to problem that deeply impacted their life. And so what I teach is step one, look at the hardships you have gone through

in your life. What are the traumatic or heartbreaking things you've been through? Was it the loss of a parent? Was it settling for a job or marriage isn't true for you? Is it not having the friendships you want? Is it being made fun of was it being bullied when you were younger? What were the things that you are hard on yourself or hard in your life? You really struggled through them? Was it

being overweight? Was it mood swings, was it a problem was lighting in your house a problem with clothing, I want you to write them out on a piece of paper, what was the the problems, the hardships that you've gone through in your life. And then from this piece of paper, step two, I want you to write down how you overcame those things that you went through, you could have a multiple list of problems, like we all have had multiple problems, multiple traumas in

our life. But the difference between what makes someone successful and what makes someone not is the people who are committed to overcoming their problems, the people who are allowing themselves to create opportunities out of their problems. And you can say that's opportunistic, you can say that it's all these types of

things. But the reality is, is if you want to live a fulfilling a whole and incredible life, you've got to realise that you can initiate yourself out of suffering, pain is inevitable in life, it's going to happen no matter what suffering is an option and to to let go of the suffering. And to create a powerful, meaningful life, you have to look at these multiple magnitude of problems you've been through and how you can start to communicate them in a

way that offers a solution. So after you write down all these problems you've went through in your life, I want you to look how did you start to overcome them? Did you go to a therapist? Did you talk to a friend? Did you read a book? Did you start a new hobby? What did you do to start empowering yourself to become better? Did you get a mentor? Maybe you're listening to this and you're unsure what you have empowered yourself to do or become better at and

you're still suffering. But whatever it is, wherever you are, is you've got to start to look at what were the action steps that I took to change my life. If you knew you were a waiter or waitress and didn't want to be that anymore. What was the first step you took to get out of that? If you were in a relationship you didn't want to be in anymore? What was the first step you took to get to that? Like, what were these

things you did? So whatever you did to overcome this problem, you were having your life it's called a process, right? Whatever you did, so what I did to overcome cancer, right? I suppressed it for nine years, I was doing a job that I hated. I thought that money would give me the solution. I was making lots of money and 2122 23 years old, and it wasn't solving anything. So then I decided, you know, I've got to follow my dreams. My dream was live International. I moved International. I started

doing yoga and meditation. I realised all these imprints and all these programmes and all these stories in my mind that weren't serving me. From that place. I then was like, you know, I'm going to write a book and I'm going to believe in my dreams go after it. That's a process that I went on. That was how I solved my own problem. Did that happen overnight? No, that was about a year process. But

that is what I did. So a business is simply taking people on your process and what you did, which is a customer journey, to get them from point A to point B so point A wherever you are, I was suffering I was doing a job I hated because I thought that was the only way to get money. The point be, I've created a business that I'm absolutely in love with. I love my clients. I help people change their lives every single day and

I feel honoured to do that. Now what was the journey I've gone through I've gone through multiple processes in multiple journeys, and I continue to that whether it's been writing In a book, whether it's been creating online courses, whether it's been emotionally working through things, whether it's been energetics, whether it has been meditation, whether it's been working out, like I've done a lot of things to get myself to where I'm at, and I'm always up

levelling. So ask yourself in this space of what was the process, and how did you get from point A to where you are now, point B. So when you look within your own life, and you start to see what problems you went through, and how you overcome overcame them, you can start to see how you can

create a business. A business, most important department will always be sales, initially, the CEO always have to be the salesperson or there'll be no business, you are going to be the owner of your own business.

Or even if you're not in your own business, maybe you're in another even if you're in finance, even if you're in supply chain, like you're always going to be selling because you are always going to want your mission, your vision to win, whether you're selling to suppliers of hey, we need a better supply chain model, we need a better lead time, whether you're in finance of it, okay, we've got to understand how to

crunch these numbers here. And this is why I believe this is the best way to put these budgets here where to put this money to allocate for future funding. Like you're always selling your ideas, even if it's within a company, why your thing is the best way. And so no matter what, you're always going to be a sales. And a sale means that you become comfortable having a conversation about what problems you have endured and what solutions you can provide.

So in the online world sales means consistently putting out content, information and storytelling that empowers people to understand the problems they're going through in our life, which are the same problems you were going through, you were very unaware that was something you were allowing yourself to tolerate and live

with. So for example, I was tolerating drinking tap water until I was literally informed by multiple people online how bad it is for you, and how much metal is carried still in tap water, then I decided to finally choose differently. Every business is about empowering you to live a better life for you to enjoy it more and add more value into your life even think about Nike, right? Why do they always come out with new shoes and new products, it's because the new

shoe is somehow better. I don't really know the mechanics to it. But I know that's what they're selling you on. It's not my passion, so I'm not going to research it. I'm just going to trust them that it is that that and I'll buy the shoe that I want. So using the online world means simply using photos and videos to inform people on the problems you have overcome, and what solution you're offering. Not every post needs to be a sale yet each post should be spoken from your heart and from

your soul. Again, you may be asking how do we do this? Well, one, once you know the problem you're solving start to think of a story and your life when that problem was really present. Were you going for a walk? Or are you falling for divorce? Were you thinking of a child that passed away? What was that moment that problem became present for you then share that story as written content or in a verbal video where you then transition from the problem that was born to then you linking it to your

offer. So for example, for me, I was working in a corporate job making great money yet I knew that I wanted to travel the world and my own terms and conditions. I just didn't yet know how that was possible. Because I didn't just want to travel and be an influencer, I wanted to actually help people along the journey. So I started to simply tell people about the power of love. And that love can transform us, empower us and guide us to create businesses we

love. And I believe that we each can use social media as a tool for building a brand about what is on our hearts and minds the most. And from this place of storytelling, I offer one of my many online courses or products based on what I'm launching that time of year. Do you see how this easily something you can do time and time again with

practice? To For another example, I could say, with my podcast, I started to do a podcast because so many people have asked me to do one because of all the knowledge that I hold. And I was like resisting it and resisting it. And then I realised like, hey, I really want to impact people, I really want to serve more. And so I started my podcast, then what do you know, slowly, but surely, I started to realise how people were reaching out to me sharing how much my podcast impacted

them. And before you know what I saw direct link and my podcast increases and my sales increasing. And so what I highly recommend you is to start a podcast and here's the way that I can offer you to do that. And I could offer an online course or you know thing about podcasts. Or I could just say listen to my podcast for free, but I'm linking that story to an

offer. So whatever you're going through in life, it can either be about you going to the store this morning and buying cambogia or answering a text or not answering a text from a friend because you didn't want to lower your vibration because you've realised the importance of vibrations. So you decided to not respond to this message and you lived let it be and from that you went on your day more peacefully. And that's exactly what you teach of learning the importance of your environment.

And so what I want to share with you is the same thing is you can always share a recent story and then from that story, connect it to the problem or solution that you are offering and then create like Blink Back to the product or service you're offering. It's the same methodology time and

time and time again. So this is how you add value on social media is that look at the problem that you solve for others, then you see the moments in your life where the problem arose, then you share that as a story and link it to an offer. And from that you can create sales, create connections, create engagement posts, create conversations and empower people to uplevel their life. Because a sale is simply a transaction that occurs where value is given

and received. A sale online is simply empowering you to be in the comfort of your own home, your own life, and offering people so much value for them to receive on their timeline when they are ready, is being able to share a story that initiates someone else's journey to transformation, empower someone to just improve their life by 1%. And the power of using online is that you don't have to physically be there when this

transaction happens. And it's from this place of commitment, not just help yourself yet believe you can help someone else that you will create multiple sales online, because you are showing up to a huge market of people scrolling, wishing, desiring to feel something deeper in their life, or they wouldn't be on their phone looking for answers. It's from this place of belief that you can be the hero that you wish you had in someone else's

journey. It's from this place of sharing a story after story after story, how you committed to being a better person. And you want to share that with others. It's from this place of pure intention, and natural curiosity to help others that sales become not so toxic, yet thrilling, because you see the value you can give and that you deserve to receive from that. Remember, an online sale is simply offering a product, a service or a membership. That is what empowered you to solve the

own problems in your life. And you're now understanding you're not the only person that was suffering from that problem. And you're believing that you can become the hero you wished you had when you were suffering. And it's knowing that pain is inevitable. But suffering is optional. And that when you choose to become a creator, you dissolve the suffering going on

in the planet. And it's from this place of using online tools as an initial lead generation or initiation for someone to offer an emotional connection to someone else to fulfil an emotional desire that someone is suppressing or not accessible to, that you're actually increasing the vibration of the planet, but you're actually doing your part in the microsecond that compounds in a far greater way than our mind could ever logically understand. It's on this place of knowing

that sales isn't toxic. It's just a place of showing up from pure intention and natural curiosity to have a conversation to show someone else what can be possible for them. Because if you're here listening to this, the war's over in the world, you do not have to suffer, you already have started to do the work on yourself, to master yourself, to change your thoughts to change your

language. Now this shift is for you to believe you can make something sustainable about it through sharing stories via social media, to use law of attraction to live a lasting impact on others and create wealth from it. It's from this place of showing up on social media, building a business brand or personal brand that guides people to connect with you and understand that through your

story. They can transform their life, but through your story, they can understand a new part of themselves that was dissolved or avoided or defeated. It's understanding that you are so powerful that you truly can help someone else. It's from a knowing that in this socially interconnected web of people, there's actually a way to create more connections that have disconnection. It's from this place of belief and knowing faith and trust. That you are the reason someone else's

suffering can stop. That sales becomes a place of value exchange, that your life begins to shift and the lives of others began to shift. So I hope that whatever ideas run through your mind mind whatever is on your heart, whatever things you know that you can solve problems to, you go out there and invent it. You go out there and create it because someone needs what you have and you can absolutely stop the suffering of someone else. I hope you enjoyed this podcast
