And now here they are, Nick and Sue on Chatterbox. When the stars talk, they talk to Nick and Sue. Welcome back to the Chatterbox Redux Podcast. Today our guest is Savannah Jade. This is Nick and Sue with Chatterbox giving you all you need to know about musical entertainment. Oh yeah! Chatterbox! And now on Chatterbox UK, we're just lucky enough to welcome back Savannah Jade. Savannah, welcome. How are you? Hello, Savannah. Hi, I'm good. How are you doing, guys? We're good, thank
you. All good down here on the south coast of England. You're Canada, aren't you? Montreal, minus 22 Celsius. That was my next question. What is the temperature? England gets cold, but I know that you're at that time of year. It's cold still. Minus 22. Wow. OK. Anyway, so we spoke last year, we met last year, and we got to play I Don't Have Exes, which we absolutely loved. It was a very clever song anyway, just
the lyrics, everything was good about it. It was a great song to introduce our audiences to and our member stations too, it was very good. But we're back again because... uh i think uh was it back in december 12th you sang on stage a song called man out of me that was the world premiere of it i guess However, we've now got it released as a single. Man out to me. So tell us about that, how it come about, what the lyrics are about. Just tell them all about it. Yeah.
So this song actually is the first song I've ever written for my solo project back in 2024. But yeah, someone in my life told me once that I could never write a great song. And I was like, you know what? I'm going to Nashville booking a trip and I'm just gonna do songwriting for the whole trip, focus on that only. So I went to Nashville with my fiancé for a whole month and we had a blast by the way, it was so much
fun. But yeah, it was a Monday, the first songwriting session I had and in the room there was Dwayne Thompson and Lauren Vale. And I went to that room with my tail between my legs. So nervous. I had the imposter syndrome there and self -doubts like all over the place. But yeah, they made me feel so welcome and like I deserve to be there and that my place was there because English is my second language, right? So yeah. Yeah. So I can speak like fluently maybe. but not like
perfectly in English. So yes of course when I do co -writings I love that because I can throw my ideas out there and we all put them into words
together and this is how we make songs. Yeah, so it's it's the story of a woman who just went through a breakup and she's tired of crying in her bed basically and eating ice cream and she scrolls to her iPhone and she sees her ex having a blast and just partying and smoking cigarettes and she wants to be that version of herself who's empowered and stronger and having fun and stuff.
So that's why it's it's called manotomy. Also, it relates I relate a lot with that song because I was pretty much feeling the same thing as the woman in that song where I put all myself doubts aside and that's when I proved myself I could do it and I just Got a passion for some writing since then and I've written much more song with these guys. Love them so much But yeah, that's how the song was born Yeah, I mean that's good. You'll have to tell me the story again if it's
alright. There was quite a nice story of how you met your fiancé, wasn't it? At a very early gig or something and he's been with you ever since and doesn't he help do the videos and stuff? Do you mind telling us a little bit about him and how you met again? I remember it was a lovely story anyway but if you don't mind it'd be great.
Thank you. We met at... his place through it was a party with mutual friends basically seven years ago now it's been a while um but yeah he really works in the technology more for surveyors and in construction and stuff so we're really not in the same bad at all but he loves to play in my music videos and he loves music he was selling beers in summer festivals like all his university time so yeah he just enjoys music and he's always there by my side so basically
I'm a lucky girl that's really good so at least we say that this song it doesn't sound like it's a personal experience man out of me so that's that's good in a way i'm glad that because i remember it was a really nice story of how you met and stuff so that that's good yeah how's the reception so far um as far as stations picking it up and playing it and uh what sort of reaction are you getting back from people that have heard it so far um It's funny because in my team there's
a lot of people that it's their favorite song of all the songs I've written. It's my favorite one too because it means a lot to me again. But I think it's going well. We did something different with this one for socials because we usually do a whole music video. For this one, we decided to do like a bunch of reels, different reels with different vibes and stuff. And it seems to go well. I think people like it from what
I hear from my friends and my family. But yeah, I'm just excited to see what it does and if people like it and I hope so. Yeah, sure. So is there going to be a video, official video going up on your YouTube channel at some point for it? Not for the moment. If people really like it and it blows maybe, who knows. But yeah, we'll see. Yes, I remember, I don't have access to the video didn't go up to the weeks after we chatted. I think the interview had gone out actually
before. I mean you announced the date when it was going to come up I know but yeah it was a little while after so if that works and that's what works it's fine you know give them a taster because at the end of the day we do want them to download it don't we we don't want them just to watch your video a few times because the amount of streams you need to even get a penny or a cent or whatever it's a lot isn't it so let's get them to download it that's what we want no
it's fine give them a taster it's good I like it Just the cover picture of your song. You're sat on, I don't know what you're doing, but you've got the Sexiest Man Alive t -shirt on. I love that pose. Thanks! How did that come about? I made that shirt. I think it was from something
on Pinterest I saw. It was a woman wearing... that kind of shirt so I was like I want to make that it felt so well for my song and it's just like a funny thing so I did that and then since I'm talking about the scrolling stuff I had my cell phone and my ice cream was it planned that way or did it just happen with the glasses and everything did you think that was how it's going to be or did it just happen on the day It just
happened on the day, basically. And it's funny because I brought one of my friends who's an emerging photographer. So she was not supposed to be there, but last minute she came and that's her picture. And I was like, I love this. I'm going to take this for the single art for sure. One thing we didn't talk about last time when we first met, we didn't talk about festivals. So let's talk about festivals and what festivals you're hoping to do. this year coming. So what
sort of festivals did you go? Where did you go? Did you do U .S. as well? Last year, we did the Lasso Festival, which is a big one in Montreal. And it was really fun because it's in my city where I live. So all my friends were there, my parents, my brother, my cousins and stuff. So we had a blast. It was really fun. But also we did the BBG Festival. And so many last year, actually, it was a really, really busy and fun season. But this year, we have a couple announced.
They're not all announced yet, but I'm going to Milton Hearts, which is amazing. I can't wait. This one's a big one in Canada, too. So this is going to be really fun. But I wish to come into the UK. That's on my dream list again. And that would be amazing if I could. do the C2C festival, oh my gosh. But yeah, we'll see. I guess there is some more coming along the way
and I can wait. We're happy, listen, we'd be happy to get you on Chatterbox and we could get it to tie just right just before the tour starts. So literally you might have 14 or 18 or however many cities you go into dates and we tie it just so it's a few days before but it's the Chatterbox
before, we guarantee you that. So just make sure the, assuming you're going to carry on using the same press office of the UK, it works for us, but if not... find us but we're guaranteed that spot so sort it out and we give you that and it goes to most, the show goes to most of the big cities in the UK. Is there any venue in the UK you'd love to sing at? I don't really know venues. I'm not familiar, but I know some festivals. But again, the C2C one is so big,
so everybody knows it. But yeah, it just wants to discover many cities and stuff. And I would love to take another week just to visit with my fiancé and take some vacation there because I have been to the UK once, loved it. But I wish I could stay a little longer because I didn't have time to visit much. So, yeah, that would be really, really fun. But the UK is the biggest, smallest island in the world because what that means is there's so many cities crammed in a
small space. Because to us, the top of Scotland, 700 or 800 miles, that's a long, long way. But in Canadian or American terms, it's just along the road, isn't it? But then you've got to think of all the big cities we've got and all the cities with over a million people and things like that. And you start working out, you put England, Scotland,
Wales on the main bit. and you start thinking is it really 78 million you think how does that many people fit on that island so it is like as i say the biggest smallest island in the world you know because it is you're thinking that there's a lot to see yeah a lot of history there but you know yeah history and you guys have so many talented artists that come from the uk so yeah it's i would love to come It takes two to tangle and two to present a radio show So here's Nick
and Sue Your musical duo this is nick and sue with chatterbox giving you all you need to know about musical entertainment anybody dead or alive famous who would you like to sing with? young blood okay we've never had that answer before I'm a big fan of rock music too and I think he's just doing so great. His voice is incredible and he's so present for his fans. I think he's a sweet guy and yeah, that would be incredible
on my dream list too. It's incredible you should say that because one of the guests on the chatterbox that's going out today as we're talking, the one that's going around the stations this week, there's a brother and sister called Amolotovs on there And they've just got the support for Youngblood in May over here. They're supporting them. You think, wow, how great is that? Or is it now? They've just got the support for it anyway, for Youngblood. How credible is that? Just like
you mentioned it. So yeah, incredible. So when you do come here, you're going to find It's going to be better too. Do you want to come and just tour yourself to start with? Do you headliner yourself as Savannah Jade or are you wanting to perhaps support somebody first time? What's
ideal for you the first time do you think? I think I would love to be a support act before and yeah just I think this is the best way to meet new fans and to even in festivals like you have the big headliners and then when you play earlier in the day there's many people that discover you. And it's the best way, I think, to get organic fans, I would say. Yeah. Well, she had other things to ask Savannah, didn't she? What's next
for Savannah? So many things. I'm going to record four more songs in March, which I'm really excited about. They're really fun songs, not about heartbreak anymore. Even if I'm in a super healthy relationship since seven years, I love to write heartbreak songs for some reason. But yeah, this is coming and then I'm just taking some vacation in February. And the summer show is looking forward to. to have summer shows, yeah. We look forward to hearing your next songs. And I'm sure I've asked this
before, I'm going to ask it again. Well, first of all, let's do the four new songs. Are they likely to be an EP or are they just going to be singles coming out at different points during the years, do you think? For now, it's going to be single by single and we'll see how it goes, yeah, but I think I'm sitting on like 20 more songs that I have demos on. But I just want to choose like the song that really fits who I am basically and pitch maybe some songs to other
artists that I think would sing them. And yeah, that would be amazing. But I write, write, write, write, write so much because I really love it now. You're good at it. So there you go. I don't know if I'm good at it, but I'm enjoying it. So that's good. Well, listen, what comes out? The finished product of what we hear and what we play to our audiences is good. And we don't just put a song on to hit or miss, for instance, so it's no good. We don't put it on because you've
been on already. We put it on because the song's worthy of being on there. See, there's 10 songs every week. which the audience vote on. Even if the song comes 10th, the way to look at it, someone has to come 10th. But every song is a winner. They're all amazingly strong songs. It's just unfortunate someone has to come last. But it's no insult to you because we've selected that as one of the top 10 songs that week out of the thousands that have been released. That's
the way to look at it really. And I don't hear the songs till that night when we do hear them. No one ever hears them before the show. Her reaction is a genuine reaction. Yeah, that's amazing. You know, when you put a song out, it's like a baby, right? Like, I love them so much, but I just wish people liked them too. So, yeah, you never know how it's going to be for other people. But that's amazing. Thank you so much.
Getting to know, getting working relationships with presenters and DJs like ourselves and building up, you know, with each release. That's a good thing. Yeah, I think you're getting to know a lot of presenters and DJs now, so yeah. Excuse me for a sec, I'm just going to shout. Twinkle! Sorry. The cat. It's a cat? Yeah, she's clawing the furniture. Oh, so cute! It's Savannah. There you go. Hi. Sorry, she never claws the furniture. Savannah, I've just thought of something, a lovely
image in my head. You know you like Youngblood? You could write a song for Youngblood and they sing it. Wow, that'd be incredible. Wouldn't it be amazing? Yeah, he has such an insane voice, it's so beautiful. I reckon you could do it. I'd love to, I'll try it. I'll be doing my job, and I'm impatient, and I want to know. So, the listeners, I want to know, when are we likely to hear your next song, your next single after this? Is it going to be March time or is that
literally when they're being recorded? It could be April or May. We didn't choose yet the date, so I don't know. Plus, we don't know which one is going to be the next single. I have an idea of it, but we're not sure it's going to be this one. But no, I don't have a date yet. You have to be patient, babe. Yeah. Yeah, well, I'll try. Week in, week out. I try and be patient, but you know, I'm slowly learning. I remember. Could be August, I don't know. I don't think she'll
be that long. We've got two screens here. We're talking to you on one screen and on the other screen is your pose from your cover. I just love it. It's a fun one. Thanks. It's beautiful. It's brilliant. Yeah, well, I'm hoping about my soul soon after because I think it'd be lovely to
have a chat. Even if your festivals are over your side of the pond, I think it'd still be lovely to have a chat about it just to keep the interest going over here and we could whet their appetites a bit more about you coming over here. We don't know the dates, you know, I think it could be nice. So I think we'd love to have you keep just keep the interest going across the stations. I think that'd be quite nice. Yeah, that'd be so fun. That'd be good. But let's do
your social media. Let's do that. So, okay, we have got savanajademusic .com savanajademusic .com and lovely website as well. Some lovely pictures. got your tours are going to as they get added are obviously going to be on there whole load of videos and music all about you there's news and the magical thing is when we talk about social media is by saying savannahjademusic
.com we can cover all the other social media by the looks of it because we've got instagram if we just scroll to the bottom of the home page we've got instagram facebook tiktok your youtube channel spotify apple we've got all that there Yeah, everything's there. Is there any other social media you want to mention to them? I think I'm more active on Instagram, maybe, so Savannah J Music too, and TikTok, just to make some silly videos. No problems. Anyway, Savannah, yeah,
just that. Savannah, we wish you all the best with your singing career. You're an amazing singer. With the career? And Man Out Of Me is already... available. Do download that, you're going to love it. It's a very, very lively country style song. It is just lively, it's wonderful. I tell you something, people like, I could envisage somebody like Dolly Parton in her day singing it and making one of the most successful songs
of her career. It's that lively and wonderful, because in the UK, countries not... really that strong, but your songs seem to be lively and work. It's the sort of thing that can work in the UK. And when they hear this song, they're not going to think, I'm going to another country song. It's wonderful. So lively, Savannah. It's like you have a star about you. So I think that's why we tagged onto you a bit and we like you, you know. And I think something can work in the
UK. Yeah, definitely. Thank you so much. I'm glad to be here. You've got other interviews
