The royal family has been interested in UFOs for decades. This was always a matter of extreme sensitivity. Documents going way back to the 50s. The Queen sent scientific advisors to crop circles. They know more about it. They want to find out more. Of course there's life somewhere else. And the Royal Family, believe
it! Do you think the technology US pilots are seeing now in the skies could be linked to what Charles was flying? This will leak and it will cause quite a scandal. There were dome -like projections around each of the pilots. Charles and his engineering crew were familiar with the craft. So many exciting reports. What are they here for? What's Charles going to respond to? Their interest is based on factual knowledge that they've been able to get access to that
we don't. We'll alarm people. By God, these things are dangerous. It's a bit like a Pandora's box. If we took the lid off and looked inside, we'd never be the same again. And now on Chatterbox UK, we're just lucky enough to welcome back, for the un -teamed time, I think, Mark Christopher Lee. Mark, welcome back. How are you, sir? Yeah, very well. Thank you for having me back. Hopefully I'll make sense. Always a pleasure. Well, by now, when the show goes out, they'll have all
heard your little trailer. Oh, yeah, yeah, cool. So they're all going to be familiar with that. We have you back so many times, because either musically or the Nub TV side of things, you are one very interesting guy, to be honest with you. But you're here today to talk about Nub TV, and I think you did a little thing a year or so back about Prince Charles and his interests. that. We are now talking about the Royal Family in general and looking at the promo you had Edward
VIII on the on the promo. So I chuck it back at you. Tell us what this latest installment of NubTV is all about. Basically, yeah, we've made a film. It's a proper film. It's out on Amazon Prime free to watch for members. And basically, it's a documentary just going into the royal family's interest in the paranormal and UFOs. So it goes all the way back to Queen Victoria and the seances. Prince Albert had the first official UFO sighting. He wrote an entry in his
diary about dazzling lights in the sky. Then we go through to Lord Mountbatten, who actually had an alleged UFO land at his Broadlands estate in Hampshire, which is quite a fantastic story. And then we also look at Prince Philip, his interest in UFOs and how that was done through his intermediary Sir Peter Horsley, who would go out and get the latest records of the sightings and update Prince Philip with it. And yeah, there's some amazing stories in there. So it's well worth a watch
for your listeners. Well, that's quite interesting because the sorry, the the noise in the background didn't quite after Queen Victoria, who was the one that had the early UFO sighting? Prince Albert, her husband. OK, so we're going way back now.
I think most people listening would have looked up to the sky at some point in their lives and even if it was a plane with the sun shining on it and you only see it looks like whatever everybody at some point I believe would have seen a UFO because an unidentified flying object going back to Prince Albert's day there wasn't planes up in the sky Spaceships were going well there's rumors of spaceships quite a very long time ago which is fascinating but I might be digressing
a bit. Clear facts that Albert saw UFO now that is absolutely intriguing me because there weren't planes up there. No no well he didn't know what it was it was enough had an impact on him to make it for him to make an uh you know an entry in his diary dazzling lights orbs in the sky I mean he didn't say I've just seen a UFO you know. because they didn't exist in terms of that terminology. But he saw something that had an impact on me and wrote it down unusual enough.
And don't forget, the night skies would have been a lot brighter then. Well, maybe not in smog rid in London. But yeah, so it's interesting. Christopher Columbus, he had a UFO sighting as well, and which he made an entry in his ship's log. So UFOs are nothing new. And the Royal Family My whole point with this film is that the Royal Family have taken them very, very seriously. I mean, the Royal Family are very incredible people, whether you like them or not, they're
quite serious. And so, yeah, they're taking them seriously. So why can't we, I guess? That's the whole question about the film. Yeah, well, I quite like the Royal Family. It is a good old tradition. And after all, I do have a surname, Prince, so I've got to really go. That's true. Very good. We'll go back to the UFO bit in a moment and things. Queen Victoria and the seances. Tell us a bit more in depth about that. What was she actually trying to do by making contact
with the other side? Could you digress a bit? Yeah, basically it was when her husband Prince Albert died. She was heartbroken. At the time, spiritualism was a big thing. in those days, and she heard about it and wanted to try and make contact with the dead husband, as simple as that really. She had seances with that in mind, but also it was a big fashion, big craze. You know, we've got TikTok now, crazes on there, but the craze at the time was seances in Victorian
times. That's brilliant. And I do know, obviously you're quite right, how much Albert's death hit her, because she dressed in black for the rest of her life. Absolutely, yeah. Okay, let's get more into more, you know, more recent times. I did note we had Edward, a picture of Edward, or was it George VI? It was one of them, one of the more recent kings. Was it Edward, or was it George VI? It was George VI. That's the image you saw, yeah. Okay, so what was George VI's
interest? No, it was more around his speech therapist, Lionel, what's his name, Lionel Logue, okay, and he was friends with this big spiritualist at the time, and basically there's a story in the film where Lillian Bailey, her name was, she was a kind of very famous psychic at the time. So anyway, and she was connected with the royal spoils through line or speech therapists. So basically she was blindfolded one day, taken in a royal car somewhere and ended up in Chelsea
somewhere. And she was told to do just perform basically. So she did this all blindfolded, did a seance, contacted people, sent out messages. And then when she removed her blindfold at the end of the seance, there was the queen, queen mother. Prince Philip, Princess Alexandria, and there's a few other royals all just sat there watching this seance and getting these messages.
So that was quite interesting. Obviously not many people know about that because, you know, the royals don't go public about this stuff. We have to find this information through people's archives being released. Like we found the story about Mount Baton and this craft flattening on his estate because there were documents in his archives that were released about 10 years ago.
Oh yeah there's all these interesting bits that come out and I just wondered what's in Prince Philip's records which have been sealed now for I don't know 90 years or something we can't get access to them. It's such a shame because he is was such a great guy in so many capacities you know whether it's putting his foot in it or whatever but now we're talking about a serious
side of of UFOs and paranormal. It's such a shame that we can't get to actually read it and see it because that one interesting guy, his whole concept of it would be great just to know. Yeah, I mean there was a story that we found that he nearly met this supposed alien called Janus.
in a flat in Kensington. Basically, Sir Peter Horsley, who was his private equity at the time, was meeting with his character called Janus and Peter Horsley thought, oh, you know, this could be an alien is communicating with me telepathically. And he's giving me these messages. And this Janus really wants to meet Prince Philip to pass on messages that Prince Philip. can help save the world, save the planet and all this. So he was trying to organize this meeting. Luckily, Prince
Philip didn't go. Someone dissuaded him from attending because most likely Janus was a Russian spy. We all think of Prince Philip making gaffes all the time. His one situation where he could have really kind of put the country in danger, I guess, and he decided not to go through with it. I mean, that's a fascinating story. But Sir Peter Horsley, till his death, still thought
Janus was an alien. notes of this podcast. Don't forget CBUKRDUX. Just out of interest, we mentioned Jaws 6 and that, but how in depth can we look at the late Queen Elizabeth II's belief in the subject? I mean, how far did that go? Yeah, I mean, I was lucky enough to meet retired CID officer John Hanson and he has a UFO archive in Stratford -upon -Avon. Amazing guy. He was a complete UFO skeptic until one of his police colleagues had this experience and it convinced John that there
was something to it. So he used his investigative skills to look into the subject and he started writing books. Anyway, these books he started sending. I thought I'm going to send Prince Philip and the Queen these books. So he would even send his Haunted Skies books about UFOs to them and they really enjoyed them and he got letters back which he showed me and saying they were going to add these books to their paranormal and UFO library. So the Queen in principle, they've had
their own library of all these weird books. I'm impressed. I want to go through the books, I tell you. Absolutely. The other story we found from Queen Elizabeth II was from an author called Colin Andrews. And he was down in Wiltshire, this is in the 1990s, with a Japanese film crew where a crop circle had just been made. And there'd been light seen around this crop circle being
formed. And this Japanese film crew actually, I don't know how, but they got word that the queen was gonna come down and have a look at this. So this Rolls Royce turned up in the middle of the night, Colin Andrews saying, oh my gosh, it's the queen. And it actually wasn't the queen, but it was a... top scientific advisor that she had sent down on a mission to get information
about this crop circle. It's a fascinating story, but they had to keep it secret because politically it could be embarrassing because, don't forget, the Ministry of Defence was saying, okay, there's nothing out there, you know, it's just all made up stuff or misidentifications. But then the Royal Family, the head of state was saying, looking into this and taking it seriously. So they had
to kind of keep quiet about it. Well, it would have been fantastic had the Queen just turned up and it was seen at some field in the middle of Wiltshire at 2am. It would have been wonderful. Why not? Yeah. Why not? Absolutely. I'm impressed that they're interested. It sort of hopefully gives people listening and their subjects. It makes it more acceptable to believe in these things if the Royal Family do. I personally think,
you know. Perhaps a bit more acceptable, although we're in an age now where we know different planets exist. I think a lot of people now will accept that somewhere in one of those universes out there, there has to be life. Life is plentiful, and my scientists would agree that it's going to be everywhere in the universe. The question is, because it's such a big place, obviously, how's intelligent life ever going to find us? We're like one speck of sand on a massive beach.
So just finding that one speck of sand is going to be really, really difficult. But not impossible. And there's something unexplained in the skies, whether it's extraterrestrials, whether it's our technology that's been developed in secret, or whether it's something even far weirder. We don't know. There's definitely something there. And the Americans, they take it very, very seriously. Their Congress has got hearings. They've got decorated pilots given evidence under oath. We
don't have any of that over here. And that's Part of this film's mission really is to think, look, the Royal Family took it seriously. They had an interest in it. Let's do the same. Let's crack on and find out what it is. Well, you are right about the Americans as well. In the late 40s, don't forget, there was the film of the alien at Roswell. I mean, people said all sorts of things about that and they were taking and perhaps even taking animal parts out of the alien
and things like that. But the point I'm making isn't whether we think that alien was right or if it's a fraudulent bit of film, whatever. The point is the Americans were trying to put it out there, the opposite to us, put it out there that there was this alien at Roswell, et cetera, et cetera. And that was like 40s as far as I know. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, yeah, they do. I mean, we've got our own Roswell. It's
called Rendlesham. Rendlesham UFO of 1980 and this is what the Queen was very interested in and John Hanson the police guy I was telling you about he wrote several books about Rendlesham and basically Rendlesham was next to RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk in 1980s which was a basically a NATO base manned by American troops servicemen and they saw these strange lights and something land
in Rendlesham Forest. Christmas weekend 1980 and John wrote some books about this with the Colonel in charge of the base at the time and the Queen loved these books. That's her own Roswell but no one knows about it and that's my next film is based on Mendelssohn, the British Roswell. I shall make sure you and I have a chat about that. Let's get up to, you know, right up today before we sort of remind people where they can
watch the film. King Charles, now You did a thing a little bit about him last year, recently anyway. Tell everybody about the present King's beliefs and what we're talking about as well. Yeah, I mean, there's less information about King Charles's beliefs, but there is a story that we had. A Canadian diver came forward and basically I interviewed
him for about 10 hours basically. five different times and he gave all his details of this incident in 1975 in Canada in Nova Scotia and he claims Charles was one of three pilots in this UFO type craft and it sounds really really fluffed that King Charles has flown a UFO. I qualify it with most likely wasn't extraterrestrial. It was our technology for some sort of secret technology.
It was a bit like a helicopter had dual rotor blades, but then it had a weird blue ionic flame coming from it and had a weird electromagnetic effect. And it would just basically stay in the sky over there, which is impossible. The blades were cut out and it would just hover there. So
it was weird. It was an exotic technology that... allegedly Charles was one of the pilots so that's an interesting story and it's in the film so okay there's a couple of points that sort of I mean you mentioned the British Roswell which we talk about next time um in the in the 80s 1980 whatever but I can remember on the news not Quite spot on what we're talking about because it sounds like in the UK they were trying to hush it up a bit Which is something you basically
covered but I can remember BBC News and like in the late 70s 1978 time there's supposed to be in a UFO in the area when Jeanette Tate went missing I can recall going to New Zealand and there were the flashing lights just before Christmas 1978 and It's clear on my mind still, I'm sure you know that part that I'm talking about. And BBC would, it was quite a thing for sightings to be reported on the main news at that time.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Another one of the 70s, the Broadhaven School in Wales, the school kids saw this, uh, craft land and aliens get out and the BBC reported on that as well. That was late 70s. So you are right. did a feature on the New Zealand Lights that you mentioned, it's a mysterious world program on ITV. So yeah, but it's really difficult now for the BBC to take, they won't do a UFO story. I mean, this is about the Royal Family, it's pretty interesting. Yes, yeah. I'm
slightly sceptical. I've got a science degree for the record, so I'm not just some conspiracy nut from the internet. So, you know, it's quite a kind of down to earth, but they won't touch it because there's UFOs and they're crazy. Whereas in America, they don't have that. I'll get interviewed by Fox or whatever. I have no problem having an intelligent discussion about it. So there

The majority of people would be taking this very seriously and actually, you know, accepting it and learning from it. Yeah,
I think you're right. I mean, I just just going out to places like restaurants and pubs and tell people say, what do you do? Oh, this is what I do. Oh, wow. That's amazing. I've had my own and everyone's got their own kind of experience, whether it be UFOs or the paranormal, everyone's had something and these are about to have normal people kind of out there. So it's a normal part of life, I think. Sure. Well, keeping up to date. I mean, Prince Charles, he might be being, or
King Charles might be being hushed up. He is the sort of guy out of all the royals that does or has done in the past, let his opinions be known, especially about global warming and green issues and things like that. It'd be lovely if he could just come, you know, give his views on this as well, because people took him very seriously on the green issues and global warming. So why would they not take him seriously on this?
So I hope. I think, you know, we can't actually rely on him, but he's the role that might actually... Yeah, absolutely. Best chance we've got. I think it was slightly easier when he was Prince because he could do a little bit more. Now it's a bit more politically difficult. But, you know, he's like, maybe coming towards the end of his life, no disrespect there. Maybe he'll want to address these issues. I have written to him. So, you know, asking for a possible talk sometime. So
you never know. I know people who have written to him and he has responded. So I think it's an important issue. And I think as well that if there are, say, extraterrestrials visiting us and we are not alone in the universe, then it would have a profound impact on how we see ourselves in the world and in the universe. And as head of state and as head of the Church of England and, you know, head of all basically like to see himself as, you know, he has a role
to play, I think. Absolutely fascinating. Hopefully it'd be nice to think that William has got the same interests, perhaps we say, and beliefs. Hopefully in our lifetime, that's something you'll be able to report on as well. Hopefully not too far in the future. Fascinating as always Mark.
