And now here they are, Nick and Sue on Chatterbox. When the stars talk, they talk to Nick and Sue. Welcome back to the Chatterbox Redux podcast with Sue and Nick and today our special guest is John Henry Harvey. This is Nick and Sue with Chatterbox giving you all you need to know about musical entertainment. Oh yeah, Chatterbox! And now on Chatterbox, we're just lucky enough to welcome back John Henry Harvey. John, welcome back to Chatterbox. How are you, sir? Hello,

John. Oh, I'm doing fine. Thank you so much for having me. This is a real honor. It's an honor for us as well. It's great to have you back. Great to have a catch -up with you. Great to represent you, of course. But you know, it's... So... What's been going on? You've been quite busy. You've done lots of releases. So tell us about what you've been doing since we last chatted It's been pretty busy by the looks of it. Oh, yeah, I'm staying real busy Right now. I'm busy

writing songs. I'm collaborating on a couple of songs Getting ready to go into the recording studio next week and laying down tracks Looking forward to it. Is this singles or is this for the the album that's planned for 2026? Well, yeah, it'll be an album but I'll probably start releasing them as singles I'm quite excited about this album and I'll tell you why John because there are a number of religious and Christian

radio stations in the UK. In fact, the number is growing but in addition to that in the UK there is a Christian album chart and if and it's done by the official chart company the same people that do the top hundred like our version of the billboard so it's done officially through them so I'm quite excited to get your album out and I'm going to make sure that we know when the album comes out I'm going to make sure that we know which radio stations give the data and which

shops give the data to that chart so we will do our best on it I can assure you make sure it gets to the right places the right people play it so I'm very excited with that album so we can we do what we can with it of course I have to and I can't thank you enough it's what we do isn't it but you know we've got that chart and hopefully next there'll be a Christian singles chart there's not one yet not an official one but hopefully there will be one They've done

the album chart now, so let's hope they go for it. There's no reason why not, of course. Why would you have one, not the other? So I reckon it will come. Slight delay. It's only a slight delay, I think. Tell us about some of the singles. Some of the singles, yes. Well, they're all Christian -oriented. What I'm writing now is about San Padre Pio, which he's the patron saint of healing

and pain. I have a very good friend of mine in New York, Charlotte Hoag, and she was best friends with San Pedro's assistant, or San Pio's assistant, and the assistant passed away about a month ago, and before he passed away, my friend Charlotte was visited by St. Pio, and he gave her instructions to heal people. And that's what she's been doing

she's been blessing people with the oil. Son Pio and she's brought several people out of comas you save many lives it's just it's incredible and every time she performs a miracle a pink rose appears okay given me were on a video with

her one morning and she said. I've just put oil on on your pictures look at your hands and tell me if they're turning red and they did okay they turned they turned a beautiful rose color red and and uh she said now watch out you're gonna find a pink rose somewhere well an hour later I was taking the trash out and there was a pink rose on my front steps oh just just there just literally randomly there Yeah, it was a beautiful moment. And so that's what one of my songs are

going to be about. St. Pius, he had a, what do they call it? Stagnata, where he bore the injuries on his hands and feet of where Jesus was nailed to the cross. It's quite an interesting story about him. So I'm writing one. One about him, and I'm almost finished corroborating on one about the seven days of creation, which is in Genesis, and a few others. So I'm real excited

about them. And I don't really need that many songs to get an album out because I've got quite a few singles already, which I can include into

the album. Yeah, I would like... to hear or I'd love if Jesus Never Tapped Out could be included one way or another whether it be a different version of it or whether it be something acoustic or something really it doesn't matter it's the same version I would love to see that within the album I think that could help greatly as well and I think it's a great song it will be that that's still my all -time that's my all -time favorite song That I have written it touched

my life so much it changed my life and Of course, you have a really great video goes with it. I believe it is changed other lives, too Also, I mean I think the the the the Jen that the the creation song from Genesis the seven days I think that could be an amazing song. I I feel that's one that could Get new fans and I think it's one that could do quite well with us. You know, with the correct airplay like we've done with

Eli, I think it could work very well. It's something that everybody will know of and be aware of, but putting that in a great song, that could work really well. So let's fingers crossed for that. I think another song that'll go really well is the one that John sings about his daughter. I think that should go in because that is an amazing song. Very beautiful song. It is beautiful. But then again, he will also, he's also, I know it's very special to him and Kim as well, but...

Every time, sorry Don, I'm going to interrupt you, sorry. Every time I hear that soul, I don't know why this happens, I sit and I listen to it, I'm in my own bubble, but I feel like, even talking about it now, that someone's just literally the cold shiver down the spine. Every time I hear that soul. Brings a... kind of brings a tear. It's a great effect. And of course, what we must also remember, John, is also how it affected the panel. You know, you have done well, but

the last song struggled for some reason. That blew my mind. We're still getting people, it's like getting the UK used to country music. Well, they all know Dolly Parton and things, but lots of different types of country they're not used to in the UK. It's not as big as people think it would be. So, of course, Christian and religious songs is also something else. But the way that we played the Angel song, of course, had a lot of airplay. And I think the fact that the panel,

they gave it the 12 that week. One, it's because they got used to hearing it, and when they knew what it was about, and also, not only are the lyrics really amazing, it's just a fantastic song all round, quality -wise, just in every way. I prefer that song, and I shouldn't say it, and I'm so sorry, I prefer that song to Jesus Never Tapped Out. I'm sorry, but that's my opinion. I like them both in greatly different ways. Don't

be sorry, thank you. I want all my songs to be special to people, you know, and I thank you very much. Of course, of course. Some are more relatable to others, you know, and that's the beauty of music. Yes, yeah. You know, it doesn't

all happen to be about the same. I think with Christian and religious musics, so a UK audience that may be not, we're saying that aren't God -fearing and not going to church we're saying, so we're just saying an average person listening to the radio, I think your songs are ideal because it's not forceful, you're getting the message across but it's for a beautiful song, you're not forcing it down their throats but it's a great song at the same time, it's quite uplifting.

uh and if it was forks for we wouldn't be able to play it because i don't think that's fair on people but i i do feel that they're the message gets across in a really good way through a really good song no so people then can make their own decision can't they you know so that's how i think they come over yeah it's uh yeah well thank you so much flavor in rock and roll you know I love contemporary music and NASA music that I want to use for all of my songs I mean it's

what I grew up with you know I didn't grow up with Christian you know I grew up with the Beatles with the Rolling Stones the Kinks all that and And and and I love I love that music so it's like, you know Why not sing from my heart about the message? I want to get across and and use that music and I think that people relate they relate to that it captures their interest and then they can go back and You know listen little

lyrics. Well, yes quite and of course Jesus never tapped out the video you got in YouTube is so amazing it is like The Blues Brothers meet the Lord. It is so well done. The way it's done, the way you're done. It's incredible. I love the Blues Brothers. Oh yeah, me too. It's perfect. Thank you. I love 12 Bar Blues and I love the Blues Brothers. That's my favorite movie of all time. I've probably seen it a hundred times. All the great musicians in there. I haven't seen

it. I still laugh. I still laugh like crazy. In fact, Kim and I just watched it the other night and it's just as funny. I never saw the new one when they did it. To me, I just never wanted to see the new one when they did it. You

know, the 2001, I didn't. I've never saw it so but the original one yeah, and when I used to run cinemas that did many late night Saturday nights into the Sunday morning I can assure you did many many one several times a year would come around, you know Because it was a great movie and they don't come dressed up. Of course

all the audience, you know, so there we go. So, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely of course another thing we want to do is with the Album is of course we would like to get you and we spoke about it briefly through messages and that is to get you over here doing some concerts and of course it could be on the back of the album and of course we've got the the the chain of kings churches massive churches that take thousands of people there's one one in Hastings alone our town with

over a thousand i know quite a few people from there and um it's basically yes and they're quite sort of happy clappy and happy and they put on concerts and then a whole chain of them. So you can book up an artist to go round the churches, if you know what I mean. So when the album comes out, we get in touch and we work something out with you and them and sort it all out. So there is possibilities on the back of the album. I would absolutely love that. Thank you, I'd love

that. It's all to do with timing, isn't it, and things, and making the most out of things. I mean, we could get you over to do a few concerts now, but I think on the back of the album, that's going to be so special and everything's going to help each other, you know. And every track on that album is going to be a Christian song, so that would get... I mean, I really think the church should get behind it as well, the King's Church, you know. It's not particularly, it's

a thing of its own. It is more of a Cistrac type church than it is a Catholic or a Church of England or anything. But that's the ideal church to have the concerts in, it really is. And if some others want to do them, great. But I mean, there's like a hundred of these churches in the UK, all part of the chain, whatever you want to call it. There's good options there. Yeah, we've got good options. That is totally awesome. I love playing at churches. This is massive, isn't it? They really get into

it. Yeah, they do them on a Saturday night, the concerts and things. I mean, listen, they don't just do Christian. I mean, they had an Abbot tribute band and filled it out. I mean, they have other stuff as well. Yeah, so they do concerts, don't they? And open the church to people that aren't members of congregation, so anyone can go and buy a ticket and come in, you know. So,

yeah, there we go. Local food bank. Oh yes it's the Hastings one and that's where the food bank is for the people that are struggling so yeah yeah that's all done for the same church there we go so but like I said that's not one church that's a whole load of them so you know but as long as you can tell me when in advance you know a good time in advance when you think the album is coming out like what month it's coming out Then we, cause with this sort of stuff, we need

to plan, don't we? And get everything just right, John. So, uh, but yeah, there's always plans. It just sometimes doesn't fall in place for a while. That's all, you know, I know that well, but, uh, yeah, I'll, I'll keep you posted as, as to when it was coming out. Like I say, we're getting ready to lay tracks next week. Hopefully that'll take a couple of weeks and then another week to mix and master. And I'm hoping in a couple

of months it'll all be ready. I'll get all my singles together and the ones that I'm recording now and put it into one album. Yeah, no, brilliant. That keeps updating, absolutely. And Tutu present a radio show So here's Nick and Sue Your musical duo John, does Kim sing on any of your songs at all? She's over here. She's got a hand on her mouth. She's laughing. No, she doesn't sing, but she has inspired so many of my songs. So

many. When her brother passed away, I wrote a song as a tribute to him and of course her daughter and God's pretty little girl. That was my wedding vows to her. Lovely song. Yeah, she's my inspiration. She sings in my heart on that. I love that. And of course, she does play a major part with... your concepts and everything else. She goes with you. She probably drives you as well. No doubt she does your bookings as well. But there you go. But I know she's a big part. She does a lot

for me. We play at adult daycares and I go in and I play old hymns and she ministers to the people there while I play and perform. I made the mistake of calling her my assistant once. I thought she was going to knock me out with my guitar. She goes, I'm not your assistant. I'm your administrator. I'm your music director. That's brilliant. If she's the boss, just let her be whatever she wants to be. You're only the singer, John, yeah? I remember you talking

about the daycare centre with Chris James. She tells me what to do and I do it. That's the best way. You make a great team. We heard your interview with Chris James and we were very humbled to hear that you go into these centers and sing to these people. It's amazing. It was an amazing interview. In fact, I managed to get a recording of it, which I must send you and Chris Spearer. I have actually got a recording of it. It's one of the joys of my life to do that. A lot of these

people, they have dementia. And when they hear me sing the old hymns that they don't even sing anymore in the churches. Everything is modern. So when they hear these old hymns it takes them back. And I think it helps them a lot. They're blessed and I'm certainly blessed and my wife Kim is blessed. We've got an artist over here. He had minor hits in the USA in the early 70s called Tony Christie but he's been massive here. And it's just the way to Amarillo. It might have

been a hit in America. I know he had some minor ones on the billboard, but massive here. Now, he's in his early 80s now and he's got diagnosed

with vascular dementia. However, his doctor said to him, he said, you're in the ideal trade to be big business because you're a singer and he's still doing his... his farewell tour which is five years in now but but basically it's what you're saying about the singing because he's uh he's in the entertainment business and he's a singer so that his doctor said to him said you're in the best trade business possible because the singing and he remembers the words he does

he takes his son along you know with him but i mean this guy has had number one hits he's been one actually eight weeks we've won the songs in uh in the last 20 years and you know really big star here but yeah he was actually saying on his chat box interview yeah it's uh his GP his doctor told him that yeah definitely the best best trade to be in for you know dementia is to being as being a singer and so far bless him It's working out for him. It really is. He's

going out on the stage. He's remembering all the words. He may not go home and remember who the next door neighbor is, but he can remember all the words of those songs for the people going to watch him. Amazing, isn't it? Incredible. In fact, he's on his way to Australia, I think, right now. That is amazing. Yeah. My father had vascular dementia, but I was very, very lucky with it because, yeah, I mean, he was born in

1927. We lost him. in 2022 but I was so lucky with him because although he couldn't remember what he had for lunch or what he'd done in the previous year or even who the prime minister was he could remember things that he did in the 1930s and the 1940s but he always remembered who I was yeah and thank goodness for it because how awful must it be because you see that person it's a cruel wicked disease because it's almost like the person there in front of you has passed

away because they're there yeah but they're not there are they it's so so wicked so so lucky so lucky what about his coffin that was coffee yeah we did because he was a football referee uh for many years and um he's coughing bless him it was it wasn't what the answer was what i chose and it was a white coffin but it was black and white footballs just footballs all around the coffin That's what he was. That was

wooden, but it was just caught. Because he was a referee and loved football so much, so that's what we did. So yeah, he thinks about things like that. That's such a special story and I'm very sorry for your loss. Yeah, but also he was, thank you John, but we knew it was coming and he was 94. But of course deep down when he was getting his late 80s into 90, you hope they're going to make it to 100, don't you? But no, it wasn't to be. Sadly. There we go. But 94, yeah.

As they say, a good innings, but it is. You know, a lot of people sadly, as you know, don't have, you know, aren't lucky enough to go to old age, so yeah. There we go, so yeah, we're glad to have him. We were lucky to have him that late, because he was in his early 40s when I was born.

So to think... I was in my 50s early 50s when he passed and he was at 40 when I was born you imagine that I was so lucky lucky to still had him below my 50s so ungrateful really grateful you know it was a long time to have him being born so late if you know what I mean so yeah very lucky John could you do me a favor involves Kim I'd like him to give you a hug for on my part and I want to say thank you so much when I put the photograph of my late mum up on the

Facebook your comment meant the world to me and I've kept I've screenshot that and I've kept that so thank you so much that meant the world seriously thank you Kim you're making me cry Sorry, I was being honest, John. Sorry. No, don't be sorry. Thank you. So, tell us about some of the songs that you've done. I mean, when we first chatted, I think it was like December 2024, I guess. It was getting towards the end of the year. And I'm trying to think what we had. Obviously,

Jesus never tapped out. We had God's pretty little girl by then. I'm trying to think what else we had that we were talking about. out of control. I think you were just bringing out about the time we spoke. Jesus, I'm in love with you. Jesus, I'm in love with you. That's one that we haven't talked about on Chatterbox. So tell us all about that one. Wow. That's a very personal song about my relationship with Jesus. I'm just so in love with him. I wanted to make it a love song, and

that's what I did. I made it a love song. I had the music. for a while a lot of times i'll have the music first and then i'll come up with the lyrics later and that that's one that jesus never tapped out was like that too i had that jam for a long time and then i came up with the lyric lyrics for that but uh jesus i'm in love with you is one of my very very favorite songs i remember that real kind comment that you sent me on that

song it meant the world to me That's good. We'll have to put that song in the interview, darling. We are. You don't need to say it. Oh, sorry. That's why I'm mentioning them soon, because this is how we do chatterbox. After six years, you're getting the hang of it now, are you? Well done, dear. Well done, yay! Excellent, yeah. Do I get a gold star? No, you get to edit it.

And Tutu present a radio show So here's Nick and Sue Your musical duo This is Nick and Sue with Chatterbox Giving you all you need to know about musical entertainment Chatterbox Chatterbox Chatterbox Chatterbox Chatterbox And then angels fly. Let's tell us a little bit about where angels fly, of course. Tell us a little bit about that one as well. Okay, where angels fly. Kim's daughter was diagnosed with cancer when she was four years

old. Passed at 21, but they got rid of the cancer, but she passed from the complications of medicine and how they got rid of cancer. And Kim stayed by that child's side like crazy. all day, all night. Took her to all her appointments. Just totally took care of her. Died in the hospital. She was in our arms when she passed. I felt so bad because little Sarah, that was, she was her world. Sarah's favorite book was Peter Pan. Peter Pan. There was a land called Never Never Land.

And Never Never Land was where children never had to grow up. Then there was Wendy, who was Peter Pan's best friend. She was like the go -between between not having to grow up and being an adult. And looking back on it, I realized that Sarah wanted to stay in Never Never Land. I can't say as I blame her. So that's where Rangels Fly and Never Never Land came. So although it's not really a Christian song per se, it comes from a Christian heart. Yeah. A lot of people

would probably think it was, but yeah. Can I ask, can I ask how old Sarah was when you first got into, when she first got, was in your life, John, how old was she? Well, when I came into the picture, 17 or 18. You said once, you say she's your daughter, but then you say, no, she's Kim's daughter. But no, in reality, that's how it is. So there's no need to say. She called me daddy, so that's good enough for me. Exactly. So you should always look upon her as your daughter.

That's all the proof that you needed for what you just said. So they're the most amazing lyrics ever, anywhere. It's such incredible lyrics, John. And of course, you are in the final of the Hit or Miss Season 4 and we can only wish you the very, very best of luck. You are going to do well in the final, but incredible though. I'm wishing you the best. It's just an incredible song. It deserves to win awards all over the place. Not just a hit or miss final. It deserves

awards. It's like a masterpiece. I'm sure Lennon and McCarthy must have had a song that is more special than all the others to them and I'm sure all the great writers have done. But to me, that's good, really. That means the world to me, thank you so much. John, what does your church folk think of your music career and what you're doing? They like it. Good. They like it quite a bit. They allow me to come there and play, but it's

also a church... full of musicians. I mean, it's incredible the amount of music that comes through that church, but they have all taken to me quite a bit. We've only got about six minutes left because we don't have the Zoom Pro anymore. I want to ask you a couple of questions. One is, with Easter coming up, John, have you got an Easter message for the Chatterbox listeners around the world? What would you like to say to them? Oh man, what I'd like to say to the world is

don't ever stop praying. Don't ever stop hoping for peace, for love, for harmony, and for everybody to get along. That's the main thing I can say. And that Jesus died on the cross for the sinners. He took everybody's sin. His blood cleanses everybody, gives them grace. And you know, people say that Jesus was killed. Jesus wasn't killed. Jesus gave his life because he could have stopped it.

at any time but he gave his life and then on the third day he rose again proving that he is the one he is god he is there been a lot of gods before him hercules zeus and just tons and tons and none of them went all the way now jesus died on the cross so he could be resurrected go all the way to prove to the world and when he was laying on that cross for six hours dying over 300 prophecies were fulfilled from the Bible. It's incredible. That's how much He loved us

all. On Holy Thursday, when they had the Last Supper, that's all about forgiveness. He washed His disciples' feet, including Judas, to betray Him. So, the message is to love everyone, to forgive everyone, love God above all others, and love each other. I'd like to ask, if there's somebody at home by themselves and they've lost somebody, they're in a pretty bad way, how can you give them hope to start believing again?

What message have you got for them to get them to, you know, totally not lose their way and to get straight again and start believing again? What would you say to them? Because there's going to be somebody out there somewhere. Pray and listen. If you're quiet... In your still moment, listen, God will speak to you. He might not come and talk like we're talking right now, but in your quiet time, thankful for what you have. That gets God's attention. You're thankful, praising.

Thank you, John. That's brilliant. Right, social media. So how can people find you, John? I know you've got a YouTube channel, John Henry Harvey. So what's social media? I've got YouTube. It's always been. lovely to talk longer, but this is going to be a great interview when it goes out. I know it is. And I'm going to try and get it to go out literally over Easter. And it was also nice to meet Kim as well, wasn't it? Nice to meet Kim, yeah. So in the meantime... Come here. Yeah, say hi. Say bye. We say bye now. Are you still

on? Yeah, still on at the moment. See you later, Kim. You take care. She wants to show you something. Oh, how beautiful. That's nice. Could you hold it up a bit? Up a little bit. That's Cheryl. Yeah.
