Episode description

This week we are joined by USA artist Ansley, who is currently touring the United Kingdom supporting BoyzLife. Only last year she supported ADMT. She has also hit the USA singles chart for the first time.

Described on her website as "A Fearless pop Artist with a Rebel Heart"

She is an amazing Independent artist with a Top 40 iHeartRadio hit Don Julio and over a million streams on Spotify,

She has a new album out called Banned From Normal, which has been produced by Dallas Austin and with creative direction by Fatima Robinson.

Anlsey says: "I'm Ansley - 24, from ATL. A pop singer who's bold, wild and unapologetically real. I write the sings everyone's too scared to say out loud-raw emotions, messy stories, and anthems to scream, cry, dance, and fall in love with. No filter. No pretending. Just me."

Recorded in March 2026

Chatterbox, when the stars talk, they talk to Nick and Sue. And welcome back to the Chatterbox Redux Podcast with me, Nick. and today our special guest is Ansley. This is Nick and Sue, a chatterbox giving you all you need to know about Muse. The best news and reviews for you on Chatterbox! Now on Chatterbox UK, we're just lucky enough to welcome for the first time, Ansley. Ansley, welcome to Chatterbox. How are you? Good, how are you? Thank you for having me. Thank you,

great to meet you. Thank you for coming on. And very exciting time for you. I mean, obviously, you've... When did you land in the UK? I landed yesterday morning and I've been here now for a bit. I've slept a lot. So today's really my first day here, I feel like. And it's been good. I have a little bit of jet lag, but I'm holding in. I was going to ask about the jet lag. I've never been over the pond without any jet lag,

ever. So yeah, horrible, isn't it? uh but exciting times now i've also interviewed a couple of times actually not just this time uh joe hermes has been on a couple of times and he's in very exciting times as well because uh you are supporting boys life as well so yes how did you get that gig did they bring you or your agent monday what happened how did you get that My manager, Warren, actually is the one who got me to open up on this tour, which is so amazing. Actually, before

this, I just opened up for ADMT in October. And then right after that, I got a call from Warren, my manager, and he was like, would you want to be the main opener for Boys Life? And I said, heck yeah. So now we're here a few months later and I'm so excited. Yeah, yeah. And have you been to the UK before? Yes, I was here in October when I opened up for ADMT. Oh, see, that was over here. Sorry, I didn't know where that was.

OK, no problem. And OK, have you had the chance to see much of the UK when you were here before? Are you hoping to do that on this tour now? I got to see a lot of the UK. It's beautiful. And now I get to go to the other side of it. So it's all places I haven't been to yet. So it will be a really fun time. I can't wait to see all

what it's about. What do you think about the UK and it's you've got these sort of like medium -sized towns we say maybe 100 ,000 people maybe smaller and they've all got a theatre what do you think of that because it's something that a lot of states towns that size don't have but we all seem to have a theatre often funded by the local council I mean is that an eye -opener

for you or what do you think of that? I just think it's amazing and also all the people I've met you know being on this last tour and even being here now everybody's so different in their own way in every city you go to and it's amazing to meet all these wonderful people and how they support you know local artists and also artists you know from other countries so it's been amazing we do love live music we really do and i can see that you guys have amazing crowds here and

like i say the the venue shows you know small small towns medium -sized towns with places like that so uh yeah uh a lot of people come from from over the pond and sort of notice that so yeah and uh yeah and funded by the council so yeah that's amazing i think to bring local to bring the local residents life music and shows so yeah it's good uh so how would you class your normal style against boy's life Class my normal

style like as in music. Yeah, how would you say class your genres because I Don't think you're a like, but how would you class it? Well, I mean, I think boys life's music art is very very catchy So I think my songs are very catchy I can't seem to get them out of my head and so do a lot of my fans say that So I think I believe that's one thing we have in common I'm a very, very into pop, you know, pop music girl. And I feel like some of our songs have some similarities

and also just their stage presence. I think they are just amazing and you can't keep your eyes off them when you watch them on stage. And that's something I believe that I bring when I'm out

on stage with connecting with an audience. What I've seen you look great, I meant sort of genre -wise and things like that, but I think what I've noticed, because it's not just you and Joe, Hermes, and there's been others over the years that have supported them, and quite often they will have people supporting them that are different genres, and it might be like chalk and cheese,

but it works. Yeah. they're not afraid to have some I think is it Brian McFadden's into country in a big way he loves a bit of a warm -up artist doing something like that so yeah it's something with the mix of genres but it seems to work with them and they do listen they've done it a long time they know what they're doing don't they say yes obviously hey look I'm here now and I'm about to open and I'm very popped so I can't wait to see how that all meshes together and

I have a feeling it's gonna go great I don't think they would ask you unless they knew it would work. Let's talk about you and the USA, actually, back over there, because you've hit the charts over there, haven't you? You've had some pretty big successes and that. Tell us a bit about that so we can all have a look into that. Yeah, so I hit top 40 on radio in the US. I think it was like five months ago, I was on there for a few months. I think I got to like

37 or 36. It was amazing hearing my own song on the radio for the first time. And then I got invited by I heart radio to come sing at their Duncan lounge, which was incredible. And Yeah, that was one of my big accomplishments so far. And working in the US has been amazing. My producer is Dallas Austin, who has worked with so many talented people in the world, like Madonna and Michael Jackson. And now that I've gotten to do an album with him, it's just been a whirlwind

of all my dreams coming true. Sure. And we got this new release we're pushing here in the UK now, My Own Rich Man. Tell us about that. Tell us all about that. How did that come about? So my own rich man, I wrote this song actually when I was with my producer, Dallas Austin, we were in the car coming home from dinner and there was a bunch of people in the car and this man mentioned to me, he was like, one day Ansley,

like a man will put you on his private jet. And I looked to myself in him and I said, no, one day I'll have my own private jet and I'll invite a man. So the minute I said that, it clicked in my head and I looked at my producer and I go, right when we get back to the studio, I'm running to the other room, I have a song to write. And I was like, go make some beats. So I literally wrote this song in under an hour and 30 minutes, and I had the best time writing it. It was just

so much fun. And the fact that the experience just happened with that man telling me that, and then I wrote My Own Rich Man is... what makes it so fun because i even talk about in the song that i had my own jet so of it i have listened to it we are going to play on our live shows as well uh for the next six eight weeks or so so we're going to give you a good old spin hopefully gets us some of the charts as well when we we keep playing we're going to get a good few spins

here i like it i know there's a lot happening at the moment with you and we're only just march but What's next? How long is this tour for, actually? How long is the Boys' Love Tour? How long is that going on for over here with you? Well, so when I start March 5th and then I end March 22nd, so I'm doing 12 shows. Sure, sure. Yeah. And what's next for you? What you got planned? So after that I'm going back to America and I'm

going to finish my album Band From Normal. I have one more song to write on there and then one of my songs is also hitting America I believe in May. Okay. And then my whole album is going to be coming out in the summer and then I'm back to the UK going on more tours. Cool. We need to be chatting about some of that, if you're cool with that, because you're quite interesting. I like the way you are in your career at the

moment. You're at a really interesting stage, especially with a show with this sort of platform. I think we'd really like to have you back on to see where you're going next, talk about that next tour and the album. I'll ask you about when we do the interview. I'll go through the album, get you to talk about the tracks, and then we'll pick some and play them when I edit it. We do it that way. I would love that. Yes, of course. And all my social media is at Ansley Music, so

I post everything on there as well. I'll get you to say that again right at the end. But before I let you go, I've got a question I want to ask you. It sounds like you are coming back, but just say, if you had to come back in six months' time... Sounds like you might be, but if you were to come back in six months time, what would you like to be telling me and the Chatterbox listeners that you've achieved in that time?

You know what I would like to say I would like to say that my album BAM from normal has hit top 10 on charts that one of my songs Has been on billboard or is on billboard And that I'm opening up for a huge artist artist or even having my own tour here in the UK Nice. Nice. Let's look forward to you coming on the UK singles chart as well all that stuff So yeah, let's do your social media and sleep. So yeah all yours chuck it in my game, please My social media is

at Ansley Music, A -N -S -L -E -Y Music. And yeah, and then all my streaming services are just under Ansley. That's cool. And have you been doing any interviews? It's not so madness. Have you done any interviews in the U .S. about... The Boys Life Tour over here. Has there been any interest there? Have you been getting interviews on there about it at all? Not yet in the US. I actually just started my interviews here today

in the UK. So we're just getting started. I can't wait to see what happens from here and when I get started on the tour and opening up. So hopefully there will be a lot more when I get back in America as well when my song hits radio there. And you're going to have a lot to talk about on this tour with them. Oh, I will have a lot. I'm excited. Ashley, it's been fantastic meeting you. Thank you for coming. There will be another time. I know there will. And I think it's going to be

this year. So let's do it again. And in the meantime, I wish you every success and great song, My Own Rich Man. And let's talk about the album and your next tour when you're back. You take care.
