Episode description

Kathleen Petty is a long-time CBC host who is a friend to the Charles Adler Show. One of the first news anchors on CBC Newsworld in 1989, Kathleen worked in Ottawa as host of CBC's the House, and also CBC Radio mornings in Ottawa where the show was #1 by a country mile. Kathleen is also the host of the West Of Centre Podcast where she sits down with politicians, pundits, and other thoughtful westerners for conversations about the priorities, preoccupations and politics of Albertans and others who are West of Centre.

In this episode Kathleen shares the key to great conversations... spoiler: It is about listening. She also spoke about journalism with courage and convictions, and shared a story about asking a politician to restart an interview in order to shed talking points that do not address questions asked.
