Welcome to the Business Fondle, the Bold Business Podcast for entrepreneurs and business owners hosted by Peta Serras the Professional Babe. So why don't you pour yourself a drink and slip into something a little more comfortable and I'll get your business going. Oh my gosh, I am just about to edit the podcast that you have tuned in to listen to. And it's so funny because I remember when I filmed this, I was like, oh my gosh, when do we start again? What do I say? How do I be motivating?
And little did I know in the background of my month, I had a 65, 000 a month. in January. Uh, I logged everything into my spreadsheet, I looked at it, and I was like, holy f king crap, Cakes, b ch, you are you are sick for half of January. It's all coming together, it's all working really well.
And I want you to keep that in mind as we go through the contents of the episode, because Everything that I teach you, everything that we talk about, this is not just stuff that I've pulled out of my freckle. You know, this is so much I guess of my lived experience and everything that I tell you how I move through stuff, all of the advice that I give is what I tell my clients, but it's also what I live myself.
So we are of course going to have another episode coming up on What it's like to have the best January that we've ever fucking had. And when I mean the best January that I've ever had, I mean in my whole entrepreneurial timeline. Which is so damn exciting! So anyway, hot stuff. That is a little intro before we get into the episode, Friends, hotties, babes. I don't even know where I begin. Um, because I feel like I kind of went a little MIA on you, but I've missed you. I've missed you so much.
And I'm so excited. I'm so excited about 2025. I'm excited to fondle you. I'm excited for you to fondle your business. I'm excited for everything that's going to happen. Everything that you're going to do, all of the results, it is going to be amazing. Now, before we get into it. If you are listening to the podcast, you are not going to get the visual feast. Actually, I look like, I don't even know what's happening with my hair today. I am sitting in front of my brand new sofa.
Isn't this so funny? I bought a sofa and I'm sitting on the ground, but it is a masterpiece. It has just arrived from the Netherlands. I can't even speak. There was a slight problem. It will be fine, but this, oh my gosh, I have dreamt of having something just luxurious, but I can get home from the office and just drape myself over, you know, put my phone on, do not disturb, get like a crisp diet Coke out of the fridge. I can just lounge on my sofa. You wait until I get a TV.
I'm just going to, it's going to be like Paul Newman. I need to get some curtains. The curtains will be closed and I'll be just like on my sofa, having some private time watching Paul Newman. You can take that however you want. I meant that in a very, like a non sus way, even though I feel that it came across quite sus. But, um, I missed you. I actually ended up getting the flu twice and a chest infection, which was completely not planned for. Isn't it funny how life works like that?
If only it could fit into the planning that we have, our meticulous business planning, but I will say this is why I am all about having a bad days business model where we are business planning and we are not relying on really good things to continually happen because we want to make sure that if life is railing us. that we can get paid. Yeah. All right. So let's get into it. It was really funny because when I was like, how do I do my comeback episode?
And I was putting like all this pressure on myself. It was like one o'clock this morning. And, um, I was up kind of just like tidying the house before I went to bed. And I was like, what do I talk about? I feel like I need this big comeback episode. Everyone's being like. Like, just all this stuff. It was like New Year energy and it just felt like this really high expectation.
And um, then I was like, well hold on, if this was like a friend and they went and disappeared, I'm not gonna expect them to buy caviar and put on this big fucking spread. I'm like, bitch, just let's meet up for coffee and let's have a chat and you tell me exactly. What's happening and how you're going, give me the tea. We can do a more formal catch up next time, which is exactly what we are going to do. But what I thought I would cover is just a little bit of advice for starting over.
You know, I'll be honest. I had the best intentions for Q4. I was like, this is going to be my quarter. We've got, you've got email launch. We have, um, like the prep for business bang, everything felt really optimistic and everything just fell completely flat. And if there is something that I believe in business, you can't rely on the wins to keep you going.
You need to really truly, truly love what you do because when it is hard and you are not winning, that is going to determine if you stay in the game or if you leave. And I am normally fine, but let me tell you, I was tested, you know, between everything that happened.
My mum also, like, broke her nose, my dad was in hospital, the, our GGE launch didn't go as well as I wanted it to, there were just like, little things that continually were happening on a daily basis, I kind of had this, this, this point, and I don't even know when it was, where, you know, I had, you know, people go and work with my competitors, and I just felt really invisible. I think this was also compounded and I guess I can reveal this now because it's been announced online.
You know, in Business Bang, half of the people were moving overseas or traveling around and then the other half all fell pregnant. And I found myself without any one to one clients because everyone had finished up. And it was really in this this strange void. It felt like being in this like washing machine cycle where you know that everything is going to come clean. You're doing the right thing, but currently it just feels a little bit uncomfortable and you're getting knocked around.
And it was really the feeling of that teamed with being sick, teamed with, you know, stuff that I was seeing. And it really felt I'm going to be honest, at times it felt like such a slog to show up. You know, I feel in moments like that, this is where the most beneficial thing for me, and I tell this to my clients all the time, is in moments when you feel like that you just want to, and I don't want to say burn it all down, because for me, I was like, I wasn't wanting to burn anything down.
I was just kind of annoyed at the results that I was getting from all of the work that I had done. And I think in moments like this, whenever you feel any kind of like negative emotion or discomfort, this is a moment for you to raise your standards. And it was so interesting because when I had this realization, I put on an event called High Standard. It is a two part event. Um, it's actually on my YouTube channel. So please subscribe. Please watch it. I will link it below.
And for me, I'm like, whenever I'm feeling flat or stuck or anything has happened, the best way for me to move through that is to teach or is to get out there or is to in some ways kind of like solidify my methodology or my process or, or what I'm teaching. It's never to kind of stay in, in this like stuck period that I am. It's like, how can I move forward?
And it was really interesting that a lot of people thought that I was insane for doing this two day event and I would actually need to check the figures, but I think that high standard event, which was not a conversion event for business bang, I think I did like a simple little call to action at the start. And it was, this is not a sales event. But you will have the opportunity to buy a business bang. Uh, if you like everything that we cover, you will enjoy this program.
And that literally was how I started it. I was like, this is this, we are just going to mention it today. I'm going to mention it at the very end. But if you love this content, if you love my approach to business, you will love working with me. And I had incredible feedback. Uh, I had locked in a one to one client who her and her lovely business partner came along and she messaged me after, and she said. You are going to get amazing conversions and clients from that.
And it was so interesting that for me, I feel so much of the fire and, and why I kind of positioned things how I did was because life I felt was face fucking me and it was really uncomfortable. And I was like, I'm not going to sit here. I'm not going to have this repeat next time. What is a way to ensure that, you know, sickness and that aside. I'm going to raise my standards to make sure that. Life just gets a whole lot better and a whole lot sexier.
So if you want something to do, and I may pop it on the podcast a little bit later. It's a bit long. It's like two 90 minute workshops that you could actually listen to. You don't need the slides. Unless you want to look at my hot little face, and we do have some slides, I would recommend going and watching them. So I have a couple points here that I want to discuss, and just things at the moment that feel really true for me right now.
And I will say that if you are ever feeling stuck in your business, whether it be writing content, Or what to talk about with your clients if you do coaching calls or how to show up online or if you've got a podcast. The best thing to do is just ask yourself some questions. And it's like, what feels true for me right now? What thoughts do I have continually coming up? If I were lead, to lead anyone. Into a transformation, what would I focus on?
And I kind of have like a line of questioning like that. I don't have those written down, but I'll kind of just ask myself some questions. And then I'm always really curious of the thoughts and stuff that come up.
So with that, What I want to say is I feel sometimes when we get into a new year, there can be this real weird energy of if you feel like that you haven't done anything in January or like you've started a bit later or you had some time off or you know, the year hasn't started how you've wanted to. I feel there can be this like feeling of desperation of like, Oh my gosh, time is running out, or I haven't done enough, or I'm really stressed, or how the hell has someone already made 200 grand?
We can get into this, this cycle of comparisonitis. You know, one thing that I want you to remember is all the work that you have done, and everything that you have done in your entire life up until this point does not disappear because we are in a new year. That does not go away. You know, if you have had sales conversations, if you have sent a whole lot of emails, if you have done so much groundwork, that does not disappear.
Even if you have gone MIA because you have been living off the land and you threw your phone in a creek and you've been making your clothes. And I didn't even know what people do when they go camping. But for me, it sounds like that. If, if that has been you and you have been gone for a month and you come back and you're like, holy shit. Baby girl, that work is not wasted. That is still there. All of the knowledge that you have that is still there.
And I felt inspired today because we have another legend that is joining business bang. I will say on this, you know, I put in business bang today. I was like, if you want a task, go and follow people up. As soon as I posted that, I went and followed this person up and I said, you have time for a call today. We had a call today. She's like, I am in.
And one of the things that I said to her on the call was, you know, she was actually one of my first clients when I started, um, this business in 2020. I think she was like, like one of the first 10 people to give me money. And she has gone through a few different life changes. She went back to corporate and now she's like, no, I'm ready to start my business again. And she said to me, I don't know if I'm still new or if I need to wait.
And I said to her that all of the work and all of the knowledge that she has doesn't disappear because she had decided to, you know, like stop her last business. Or change things up, you know, that doesn't disappear. That is all still in her. And I said, you will find that when you go back, because you know what to do, because you are so experienced, you are going to get amazing results. And it was like today when I went and had this sales conversation.
Past me, like, if I hadn't had those connections, I wouldn't have been able to go and do that. So I want you to think about all of the loops that are open, all of the things that your past self has done, all of the assets that you actually have working for you. And I think sometimes it's really easy for us to kind of focus on lack, and it's easy for us to be like, Oh my god, I need to do a reform. No, no, no. You have so much working for you.
You literally can execute in the next hour, something that is going to have you in a dramatically different position by the end of the week. Like, just trust me on that. And how much of a fun thought is that to think about? Another thing on sales and people taking their time to buy.
I had over like the Christmas period, I'm going to say the last four weeks, this really what felt like insane thing happening of people who had never purchased from me before decide that they were going to drop, you know, 9, 000 on business bang. And I was like, wow. And the reason I was like, wow, is because I feel sometimes that we can feel like sales come from nowhere, which is so bullshit because they don't.
Because if you are showing up and you are posting content, you're doing the podcast, you're on stories, you're sending the newsletters. And people are paying attention. They are in the sales funnel, right? Anyone that has their eyeballs on any of your glorious shit, they are in the sales funnel. Even if they have not put their hand up and said to you, I am interested in this offer and I have browsed the sales page three times this week. I'm probably ready to buy on week seven of this year.
No one does that. That would be weird. You would be like, are you a fucking robot? That's strange, but anyone that is paying attention to you is in the sales funnel. So what you can think about is when these beautiful sales happen, try not to be too surprised by it. Be excited because how amazing is it when you get a new client or when you make money, but something that I love to tell myself whenever something good happens. And this will change your life. Of course.
When someone buys Business Bang, of course. When someone opts into my list, of course. Whenever anything good happens, of course. So when these Business Bang sales and when these new people that had never bought anything from me before, had messaged me and they were like, I want Business Bang. I was like, of course, and this can be one of the best thoughts to think because we don't want any imposter syndrome creeping up. I think that's bullshit.
And the reason that I think imposter syndrome is shit is I think anything that is gendered that does not exist for men. I'm just like, well, if the men don't deal with it, we are not dealing with it. So for that reason. No. So I want you to write that down, I want you to put it on a post it, and I want you to be like, of course.
You just want to make sure that if something really goes to shit, that you're not looking at that and just being like, oh shit, just cover that up with your hand and be like, I'm just going to ignore that. And I'm going to move my hand when something good happens. When someone's like, you're really pretty or your hair looks amazing. You can move your hand and be like, of course. I don't know if you do this, but I have a real, I have a real sense of justice.
I do not know where I got this from, but I used to have this thing for when I knew someone personally and they would represent themselves online very different to the person behind the scenes. And I would get really funny by this because, you know, my whole life, I have been told things like you need to be more professional or you need to do this. And for me, the most important thing is that I am continually on brand and that if you meet me in person, I am the same as on the podcast.
I'm probably sometimes a bit quieter depending on the mood that you get me in, but there is this like real like brand consistency. And I had this like real like justice, this sense of justice. And something that's been really interesting is watching things unfold on Tik TOK. Yes, I am chronically online and noticing that sometimes People can take, like, the results, or the bad press, whatever it is, of what they have done, have taken time to catch up.
But on the flip side, sometimes your results can take time to catch up as well. Our next point on the agenda of this podcast. Who is a fan of The Hills? I do love my reality TV. And I grew up watching The Hills. And I will admit, back when The Hills was on, I was like, Ooh, I like LC. Uh, I loved Heidi. But then I was like, Oh, Heidi and Spencer. I'm not sure.
I think looking back, and they, they've been sharing like a lot of clips on TikTok, it's been really interesting looking back being like, isn't it so funny when your brain fully develops and you look at something that you previously looked at with compl like completely different thoughts about it? And it was so, um, terrible because their house had burned down in the LA fires.
They'd lost everything, their insurance was cancelled, and I really felt for But I will say, one thing I loved was witnessing Spencer absolutely hustling his ring piece out for his family, getting that money and really cementing the fact that he wanted to make Heidi. Like a superstar, number one, best selling pop star in the whole globe. And it was really interesting because, you know, I saw this, I will always champion anyone that is giving it a red hot fucking go.
And I will admit that I was still a little bit unsure on Heidi and Spencer. And then all of this changed when I saw his work ethic and I saw his hustle. And I was like, you have to respect the man. I will support everything you do. I will stream this song. I will download this. And I did. And he came on TikTok with this really emotional TikTok. He was literally crying. And I was like, Oh my gosh, this feels off brand. Like I have to, I have to watch this.
And he was saying that 15 years ago, he, Heidi and himself, they had sunk all of their money that they made on the hills into producing an album.
Everything that they made went into this And he said the amount of regret and tears that they have cried because They lost so much money and it did not do as well as he thought And it was so interesting because when I I saw that I was like, oh my god I literally posted something on Instagram about this like a couple weeks ago Around how we can never write off A bad decision, because we never know when that bad decision is going to end up our biggest blessing.
And the example in the carousel that I posted on Instagram was when I created my Pilates DVD, apps were not a thing. They were very, very, very early stage. And I would have had to have funding to do this. I did not want to do that. I was like, let's do a DVD. It was still like multiple five figure investment. I did that. And shortly after. Apps just completely skyrocketed and I regretted spending not only the time, but the emotional energy.
And I think feeling sometimes a bit embarrassed at the amount of belief that I had and how much I was trying and dealing with all of everyone else's beliefs around this DVD and how I spent, oh 30, 000 on production of this with looking at everything, but how now I would absolutely do that again because the power to be in an event and to hold up my Pilates DVD and tell people I have been in business this long.
And as soon as people see something as vintage as a DVD, they pay attention because they're like, this bitch hasn't been here for a week. She has been here since Noah was a boy. And that is powerful. So what you can look at here is. Is asking yourself, is it time for me to revisit? Some past decisions that I have made in my business and ask, how can I rebrand this for my future or how can I change my belief system around this?
Or how can I use what I have done in the past as a secret weapon for what I'm going to do?
In 2025 because I found it really interesting that I had posted that I found it super interesting now that Heidi and Spencer are literally cashing in on a bad decision that they made 15 years ago that is only coming into fruition now and I just want you to think about everything that has happened in your life in your business up until this point asking yourself what do I regret and how can I either rebrand it or revisit it and you may really surprise yourself.
And I have one final thought for this podcast, especially for people that feel like that they have a book in them or a TED talk, or they can tell that they are going to turn their body of work or their entrepreneurial journey into something so much bigger than they are now. When you move forward through this year, there is going to be crap that will happen and anyone that is telling you otherwise.
has an agenda because they're probably going to sell you some shit course that's like, if you take this course, everything's going to be sweet. I would love that. But you know, that doesn't happen. It doesn't happen when we're a human and we deal with other humans and stuff is continually happening. It's life. And that's why sometimes it's terrible, but why it's amazing.
One of the most helpful things that has gotten me through so many hard moments is remembering that I am just mid chapter, that this is the kind of moment that I am living that is going to be a chapter in my future book, or a chapter in my future mentorship, or whatever I'm doing, and how What I am going through right now is going to serve so much in the future.
It is going to be either so entertaining when someone reads this, you know, I don't know if you have read Julia Fox's book, but holy shit, it is sensational. I don't want to create some like boring page turner where I'm like, oh, I, I win every day. I post on Instagram and people give me 10, 000. Like, that would be so lush to live through, but I think that that would read like a really fucking boring book.
It would just look like a business balance sheet of just you making all this money and not actually kind of going through it. Alright. I think that's everything I have to say. I was gonna be like, I have more to say, but you know what? I feel that we should just save that for another podcast episode. Because I know you, and I know that you don't want me to go MIA again. Am I right? Am I right? So, hotties, I love this. I love you. How fun was that? It is so good to be back.
Um, I love you more than, oh my gosh, Red Note app. So when they were going to ban TikTok in America, I'm like, how dare you take my fucking app away from me. And I know you're like, you're in Australia. I understand that, but everyone on TikTok was being like, oh my gosh, TikTok is, the Americans have disappeared. And it was boring. My For You page was fucking boring. I'm like, shut up and give me tea. Red Note app, I'm obsessed. At first, everything was in Mandarin.
And I'm like, I do not, I was literally having to take Pictures of each screen and comments and then translate them. And I'm like, this is going to have to change. Anyway, they've added a translate button and now they've put stuff in English and I am obsessed. It's like Tik Tok meets, uh, Deep Hop. meets Pinterest. It is very wild. They give incredible compliments. Uh, it's almost like affirmation, like someone said to me, hello, rich woman.
And I'm like, if only people could greet me like that every day, I think that that would really serve me well. So I love you more than that. I love you more than my sexy. Oh my gosh, my sexy sofa. Isn't it just, isn't it stunning? I love you more than that. I love you more. Actually, I've been shopping a bit. I bought a really incredible coffee table. It is an antique, a Japanese antique from like the 1920s. It is this big, like black lacquered.
I'm pretty sure it's like a tea table and there's this like gold work. They're like flowers that have been painted on the top. It's absolutely stunning. I love you more than that. And I love you more than I bought a Paul Newman coffee table book. We just love Paul. Love Daddy Paul. Oh my gosh, Daddy Paul. Love you more than that. Um, and then a food one because I feel like every single recap there is some kind of pita food recommendation. I, um, I love trash chocolate.
You know, I love loco love, but there are times when I'm just like, I don't want some healthy shit. I want something that has trans fats or you read the ingredients and you're like, this is just not going to go down well, but it tastes so delicious. To be honest, I have no idea what the ingredients even in this are, but it tastes so good. I don't think it's that fantastic. They have these like little KitKat bunnies.
They're very tiny and it has this like, It's almost like there's creamy stuff inside. It, it, like a, a moussey ganache. I'm not selling it well, but they're so good. They're even better if you put them in the freezer. I am obsessed with them. I have one every day. It also helps because my business is right near a supermarket. So when I finish work, I go and get one and I get one for mom because my mom picks me up and drives me home so I can wear cute shoes every day.
And she has a little dog in the back, Milo, and we sit and we ate the bunny and we debrief and it is a lovely little post work ritual. So I love you more than that. Hot stuff, I'm obsessed with you. If you are needing a good refresher on all things business, I would recommend taking one, the Hot Business Audit. And also make sure to watch High Standard. If you are after some absolutely hot mentorship, if you want to grow as an entrepreneur, if you want to grow your business.
