You should all check out his podcast, his radio show, also his barbecue. He's a man who knows his way around the barbecue pit. Ferguson honored to have you back on the program.
Good to see it, brother, How you been.
I'm pretty good man. Florida's making me soft, but it is warm here and I like it.
So hey, you can shit a lot more guns in Florida than you can in New York City.
I mean, I'm going to get my SBR paperwork done next week. I've already got a can, I've already got a silencer. I'm loving the Florida life, my friend.
It's hash tag America.
Yeah, although I don't. I don't get to the beach as much as I thought I would. But I don't know. I'm not you know, I burn. I'm like Irish by background, so I don't anyway enough of that. Tell me what's going on here. I want to throw some big concepts out to you. Right now, we're weeks away from Iowa caucuses. Trump's up forty points or what I mean, He's a prohibitive favor by at least the polls. Is this thing in your mind? Is the meaning the Republican primer is
there already over? Or are you still holding out the possibility there could be some big surprises.
Look, I think it's pretty much over.
I think if there's any big surprise at this point, it would probably be Nicki Haley. The money that's coming in, and Nicky Haley is significant the Republican establishment that the neocons are clearly behind her.
She's a woman that obviously is pro war.
She'd love to be in a war I think in the Middle East and being a war with Russia at the same time, which concerns me. But this is good for a lot of people's business if that's going on. And look, they're treating her like she's Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney, the list goes on and on. They want somebody that's pout up on Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina.
She obviously, as I think a strategy to do well in those And look, if you're Rn de Santis, who's been one hell of a governor in Florida, you're hoping you can at least come in second. I think at this point in Iowa there is a chance a third. New Hampshire does not look good for him. So can he survive to South Carolina financially with donors? That's his biggest struggle. But it's still Donald Trump's I mean, it's Trump's party. Every indictment seems to solidify the base behind him.
I don't know why so many people are trying to act like it's not his party, and I don't think anyone gives a crap about these indictments. They feel like it's election interference. They're more hell bent on voting for him than ever before, and that makes it in many ways, I think impossible to run a campaign against him. I mean, if I'm DeSantis right now, who's a Look, you know, Ron, he's a brilliant guy. He's done unbelievable things for the
state of Florida. But how do you distinguish yourself from Donald Trump. I don't know if any candidate they could pull it off to be honest with you with what we're right now and the abusive power against Donald J.
Trump.
Yeah, I try to say this to my audience all the time. I mean, I I love Trump, I love the Santas. I have a lot of respect for you know, Vivek for what he's been able to do. I don't always you know, I don't always agree with he's approach. I he says things, but you know those are guys who, when push comes to shove, they're all on my team, you know what I mean. I'm on their team. You know Nikki Haley, look she's a Republican, but you know, with some of the war stuff, we'll talk Ukraine funding
here in a minute. That stuff, I start to get a little reminds me a little too much of Lindsey Graham actually on the you know, never seen a war. He didn't want somebody else's children to go fight. And then Chris Christie, look, I respect the old Chris Christie. I just feel like the new Chris Christie is just doing this to get you know, get love on MSNBC.
So it's an audition for MSNBC. Let's call it what it is.
He's auditioning for his next job, and it ain't in the Republican Party.
So yeah, I think you when I see this is the same way I can like more than one Republican right, and maybe we all have to pick one sure for the primary eventually when we vote. But you know, I'm voting for DeSantis or I'm voting for Trump doesn't mean I hate the other guy. It just means in this case, I think I can still think they're both great. I try to tell people this, and a lot of folks are on board with that, but some people are, no, you know, he's d sanctimonious, or no, you know Trump
is a you know, he can't win anyway. I feel like people get overheated about that, but it's a primary that will pass. Here's the thing, though, and I want you to answer this question, but I'm I'm gonna want you to hold this for one second because I got to get to work from our sponsor here real quick, Ben, And it's you know this concept of the Trump trap.
Right.
People are talking about how they indict him, so he wins the primary but will lose the general in large part because of the indictments. I want you to give me your assessment of the Trump trap in just one second. But you know there's no shortage of tireless warriors in the campaign trail these days, not just the candidates like Trump or DeSantis, Haley or Christy, but you know the campaign staffers. You've got to have a lot of energy.
Twelve to fifteen hour days are standard in political campaigns at that level. So if you're pushing that hard, don't you want to fortify yourself with the best stuff you can get coursing through your veins, so to speak. Caffeine can only take you so far. Was waiting for you to notice Buck, but then I realized you're a heterosexual male. I've lost about forty seven pounds this year and that workout they sent to me, and it's truly incredible. And I've been taking Chalk and that's been a large part of the workout regimen I've been doing to try to get back. I just felt like I was fatigued and tired, and I started taking it. I was like, I want to go work out again. And I've stuck with it and lost a bunch of weight.
So I to your listeners, I'm just telling you chalk see at joq dot com.
Try it. It's amazing.
No, I totally agree. And that, by the way, congrats on that moment. You know, I've I've shifted as an adult. Like at one point the CIA I was legitimately I think like maybe even the high one seventies, but like it was basically one eighty one eighty five. I'm roughly six feet tall, roughly like five eleven and three quarters maybe, but it will call it six feet tall about one eighty five. I've gotten as high as like two twenty and I'm probably a lot closer to that right now
than I am to one eighty five. So I'm I'm going to follow in your footsteps in this one a bit man. Twenty twenty four. I know where it says, oh new Year. It's not a New Year's resolution. It's just I'm just gonna get this done and start start.
You and I. You and I used to be the young buck snow pun intended. Now we're getting older.
Yeah, that's what ends up happening.
Man.
And you know, melting cheese on things just taste delicious. I don't have to say, you know, ice cream at night before you get to bed. It's it's it's amazing. Yeah, you know what I mean, Like, there's a reason this stuff. Oh barbecue, I don't even want to know. I never want to know how many calories I can put away of barbecue, anyone.
Get me?
Trust me, you don't because I know you don't want to know, not want to eat barbecue. And uh, that's that's a sacrilege. I can't allow that. All right, right, explain the important things to us for a second here, Ben, Uh, the Trump trap?
Is it real?
Do you worry about it?
No? I don't. I really don't. And here's why. I think that voters know that this is a witch hunt. I think it's obvious.
Just look at the latest information that came out from the Special prosecutor apparently going through Donald Trump's text messages and his tweets and the tweets that he didn't even send in his DMS while he was sitting president of the United States of America that just came out about Jack Smith. And when people see that, they understand this is a witch hunt. This is what Marxists do, Socialists do, and communists due to their opponents.
And I'm not worried about this.
I also think the general election poll numbers that have been coming out show you just how big of a suck Joe Biden is going to be on the Democratic ticket. What worries me the most, buck is the idea that they can replace at the convention Joe Biden, because it's obvious if you look at this polling down it they need to get rid of him. They want to get rid of him. How do you offload his sitting president
of the United States of America. I think with these new indictments against Hunter Biden, I think they Democrats may say, Okay, let's just kind of lay off this and let them do their thing. That could hurt him obviously if you then decide to pardon him. But I think the biggest concern I have is you bring in somebody the last moment at the Democratic convention to take the place of
Joe Biden. You bring in whether it's Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, which I don't know if you saw yesterday they're talking about Hillary Clinton taking like a full campaign schedule coming up for Joe Biden. What the hell's that about? And that's not normal by the way, Obama they're saying it's going to work a tough schedule for him on the campaign trail as well. Michelle Obama as well. Democrats are not happy with Joe Biden as their leader. They realize
it could destroy them down ticket. The House, the Senator obviously up for grabs. The sex election they favor. By the way, Democrats, if you look at the electoral map we had the last time at favored Republicans and we screwed that up.
But I'm not worried about.
This idea that Donald Trump's a disaster and in general election, I think they.
Are more worried about Joe Biden than I would be if I was him as well.
So you think, what when you see these polls that suggest because we know right now Trump is crushing the well, obviously he's crushing the Republican primary opponents, but even in a general election in the swing states, which I think that's important, the national.
Poll Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, absolutely.
You know, but they're like, oh, it's fifty one. No, no, no, I don't care about that. We care about the swing states because that's what's going to determine the election. Trump is crushing Biden those swing states right now. But then what should we make of this? Is this just because they haven't turned the heat on and the propaganda machinery of the Democrats isn't in full swing yet, or do you think we're really in this positions it's Trump's to lose.
Yeah, I think it's real.
I think it's the economy stupid line, coming back to reality yet again. And look in a lot of these states where they had these COVID lockdowns and there was fear going into the last presidential they're now seeing what their governments did to them and the rights they took away from them. And they're also seeing the disastrous points of sending out COVID funds and all this quote free money, stay home, don't work, and we'll pay you more. Well, now,
look at inflation, look at home ownership. I mean just yesterday there was an article came out that now says among young people, seventy percent of younger Americans and young newlyweds say they cannot afford to buy a home now because of interest rates and the housing prices.
So that is a real voting block.
And I also think Biden really screwed up and the Democrats for short term, short term gain of winning the last election promising everyone and they were going to get rid of their student loan debt, and they knew that they couldn't do it, they knew it was unconstitutional, they knew they were lying to voters when they did it.
There's a lot of really hacked off younger people that truly believe they were going to get eighty grand or fifty grand, or with a couple one hundred and twenty grand of this debt that just would disappear because Joe Biden the Democrats that they could do it, So that's also coming back to haunt them as well. But the basic costs of goods and services. This is why Donald Trump, I think, was so popular the first time. And I think if Donald Trump is smart, loof you and I
could run his campaign, you'd look at him. You and I would agree one hundred percent, we say, President Trump, just talk about the economy. Just talk about what things cost now to compare to when you were in office. Stick to the basics. Don't go back and regurgitate the past. Don't argue about if the last selection was stolen. Just stick to the current present day and compare it to the past. With the open border, and you'll win this damn thing. The real question is can he discipline himself
enough to do that. Democrats are betting on he won't be able to be disciplined enough. He'll take the questions from the zoo gallery and the media and he'll go back and relitigate the pass and that's where he ends up losing the thing.
Hey Ben, what kind of towels do you have in your house? In the Ferguson household, I'm gonna.
Guess you and I had the same percal cotton towels from my pillow and our good friend Mike Lindell.
Did I nail that or what you will?
Yes, I've got the Sherpur towels. I've got the other no sheet, I forget, there's fancy. Look, I've got the same things here in the Sexton household. My friend Carrie Sexton, Buck Sexton, we love this stuff. The Shirper towels are the best. And like you know, towels are one of those things. It's a little bit like socks where you just kind of you know, you think, oh, I wear them to they have holes. No, that's gross because then they don't work as well. They don't cushing your feet towels.
Same thing. If they're all kind of threadbare and they don't absorb well, they don't feel good. You got to get yourself some new towels, folks. That's why my pillows, my towels are the best. If you want to go a little fancy, which I'm gonna be honest with you, I did, Ben knows I like to be a little fancy with my towels. In general, I'm the kind of a fancy guy. Twenty dollars more and that's what I have here at home, the Shirper towels, amazing absorbent soft. Get yourself some new towels. It's just so nice. Think about it. You're using them
every day, right, every day. So they're great, all right, Ben, next one, next one up here for you. You talked about this a little bit, the Biden situation. Okay, everyone's discussing this, and I hear all these different theories. You mentioned the possibility of a last minute candidate. But why do you think that they're not just going to go with Biden to the very end and figure that the
Trump indictments will sink him? You know what I mean? Like, is that their plan or do you think they just have a totally different plan.
I think they're in this this world of unknown right now, and I think they're trying to figure out can we get rid of a guy this close to the election, and if we do, how do we offload him? And do we allow the Biden crime family and the issues and the protections that they've been given by the deep state to basically say, Okay, we'll let the gloves come off and you guys do your thing. And that's how they sink him. And look, it's an issue of connectability
the majority of America right now. I don't and it's not my opinion, it's now the polling data shows they believe that he is not there and can't handle the job at his age. And I don't even think it's an age issue. I think it's cognitive decline. I said
this the other day when I was on Fox. I said, look, go watch a speech of Joe Biden from twenty fifteen when he was you know, and then go and look at his speech from twenty eighteen, and then twenty twenty and then today, and what you will find is that it is a massive cognitive decline. And you can't hide that from the American people. The American people know that this is a problem.
They know it now.
If you had to tell me right now whether or not they're just going to go around Kamala or they're going to try to prop up Kamala in some capacity and give it to her if Biden can't be the guy.
With no chance in hell? You no chance in hell chance?
You think no chance? Called talk me through that because to me, look we saw it does happen at Harvard, right, black female president of Harvard unfireable. She's unfirerable. That's what we've learned. Kamala Harris to me, Okay, they're not trying to fire her, but to go around her as the vice president here. How does the Democrat Identity Politics coalition not fracture itself if they just move her to the side.
Replace her with Michelle Obama.
I mean, I think at the convention and the convention you can do this. Right at the Democratic Convention, you can replace a candidate and the delegates could do it, and then she would only have to run a three month campaign, really two and a half months if you look at the actual dates there.
You could do that. I also think of Gavin Newsom.
You could say, okay, we want that one, and it doesn't look like you're offloading her. It just looks like you're replacing. You can even keep her as the vice president on the ticket, so there'd be some sort of continuity from the past administration to this one, and so it's not so radical, right, And I think that's how they would probably do that, say hey, well keep her
as the VP. She'll stay there, but there's no chance of running her as the president where she has what three percent in the polls when she was in a Democratic primary. She was chosen because she was filling a void. He had a problem as people thinking he was a racist. Kamala Harrison basically called him a racist with the bussing issues when they were in the president of debate. If you remember so, they said, Hey, we need an African American female. She fits it. Joe Biden won't be called
a racist anymore. We fix that problem. We're done, and I think they're it the same way.
All right, I got one more thing I'm gonna ask Ben about before we close. But first up, you know, the artificial intelligence revolution is here. It's making headlines all over the world. It's changing the face of technology as we know it. And according to tech expert Colin teed Arts, this is just the beginning of a new era that could make you wealthier than ever before with the right information. In Colin's mind, there's one mega tech company that is all in on AI. This company has spent over two
hundred billion dollars on their AI project. Think about that, two hundred billion with a B. The CEO says, AI will impact everything and will change the Internet forever. Through Collin's knowledge, he's found a little known supplier you can a key piece of technology that makes this AI project possible. He's confident anyone who gets shares in the supplier today could see massive gains. Some billionaires are already in on the buying frenzy. Get all the details at new aiproject
dot com. Is this a once in a lifetime opportunity you decide go check it out for yourself newaiproject dot Com paid for by Brownstone Research. All right, I need to know what is the secret to the best at home barbecue ben and what is the best style of barbecue sauce?
All right? So number one patience.
A lot of people don't understand that to make great barbecue, you need to take your time. If you don't have hours on end minimum four hours with ribs, it's going to take you about eight to twelve hours depending on the size of a brisket or a shoulder. You gotta have time, and if you rush it, it's not gonna be near as good. That's how you get the flavor out of it. And number two with sauce. By the way,
the other thing is the the rap matters. Yeah, I cbo that wrap things after a few hours on smoke and in aluminum foil.
Don't do it.
Go on Amazon get you some red butcher paper unwax. Otherwise it's a disaster and you wrap it because it still breathe, but it keeps the moisture in h in your.
Brisket or in your in your shoulder. It's amazing.
I wrap my ribs actually at the end and that's how you get those fall off the bone ribs. But also with a really really good smoke flavor. So that's that's the second part of that, i'd say. And then finally with a sauce. Look, there's a lot of bases out there you can find on the internet. You got to really find like fine tune it to what you want. And when you're making your sauce, you do not want to boil your sauce. You'll it totally changes the flavor profile.
So simmer in your sauce and constantly simmering and whipping your sauce.
And look, you can have some cool things. I did.
I did the other day brisket tacos, and I did a sauce with some lime juice in it and some and some cilantro I added in as well, and then I had some cumin with a barbie base.
It was phenomenal. I was mad at myself because I didn't write down the recipe.
I was just kind of playing with it and go and so I tell people this, if you're going to do barbecue, don't do it under pressure of a timestamp. Take your time. Last thing I'll say is I see it happen all the time. And as a barbecue you know, restaurant owner. People grab barbecue, they pull it off right when it's ready for dinner. If you're doing that, you're wrong. Don't do that, whether it's chicken, brisket, sausage, pork.
I take it and then I.
Throw it in a cooler with a towel, and I let it slowly kind of cool off a little bit before I serve for at least an hour and a half to two hours before dinner. It will be fall off the bone. I'm the best barbecue of your life. And again, don't rush it. Don't rush your sauces, and you can be a pro in no time.
Check out the Ben Ferguson Show. Everybody can subscribe to the podcast. My friend, Ben, you're gonna come to Miami this I'm ready in this winter and you and I are going to eat barbecue. We're gonna play some tennis.
