Fifty percent year, I love you fifty percent. Ratchet ratchets to sit down. You come to the most prominent form. Wait your ass up early in the morning. But they told me it was y'all. I say, oh, hell yeah, I'm getting the small stage, smaller ship. Three people's choice. Actually I got you charmamade people. I can't believe you guys in the basket. Look, did we know this breakfast club?
Good morning Usa. Yeah, yah yah yah yah yah yah ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya yah yah yah yah yea yea, yeah yah ya ya ya ya yea yeah, yeah yoa good morning Angela yee, good morning. Hey, Charlomagne, the god damn Charlomagne. Ain't there? Don't we have? Charlomagne went up? Ye easy, Hey, what's up? Dj MV? How's everything? Congratulations on ye day heard it was an amazing event. And in congratulations on opening your your coffee spot, give a round of applause and drop
a bar for ye Yeah, thank you, thank you. It's been a crazy weekend for me. Friday we just had a little vipum like a showing from my coffee shop. But it's not going to be open until later on in September for real okay, and then I had angela y Day on Saturday, and now I'm in Florida. Well, congratulations to everything I was. I was on vacation last week. I was. I took the family to Mexico before school started. So last Friday, we fly out to Mexico. I had to fly back for a couple of days because a
Logan couldn't go because Logan plays football. He plays varsity football, so he couldn't miss it. So the whole family went except for Logan. So I came back for his game, and then I went back to Mexico to pick everybody out. All right, So we packed up, we got ready to go on Saturday to come back. My flight was at nine thirty am because I had to go to Detroit to host the station's concert. My family was leaving at twelve thirty to come back home, and all the all
the flights got canceled af cancel. All the flights got canceled afternoon, so they are stuck in Mexico. I made it out, and they are still stuck because of the hurricane. Wow. Yeah, we're gonna talk about the hurricane in front page news. I mean, really devastating. I'm watching everything happening in real time. I know people who are out there in New Orleans and in Louisiana in general. So we just want to make sure that we are sending our prayers and giving
you guys information on what's happening in Louisiana. Yeah, it's it's crazy all over the place. They said that the weather was so strong. They said the power went out, and once or twice they said trees are blown. They said, it's very, very crazy. So luckily the family together and I should be seeing them. I guests either tonight, well tomorrow morning in two, three, four in the morning, they'll they'll get a chairs to fly out if the weather
gets a little better. But yeah, they cancel every flight after twelve. I was on I think the nine thirty flights, so I made it out and they didn't. So they'll be back home tomorrow. But let's get the show cracking. Who's joining us this morning. Alison Hyves Alison Hyanes a queen. Yeah, Soca queen. She'll be joining us. She performed at Eday. Correct. Yeah, she actually closed out day. She's a Soca legend. So
it was really amazing to half her. She had crazy and let in there all right, And I want to shout out to everybody out in Detroit too. I had an amazing time. Shout out to Michael songs and shout to Bushman. The concert was great. It was a CMG takeover, so Yo Gotti money bag Yo. I was hosted and I brought out I sweare vezzo while on the stage just for the cities. And then after that we were playing in the car show. So I'm excited about that.
Let's get the show cracking front page news. I'm sure we're gonna be talking about this hurricane right, yes, Hurricane Ida. All right, we'll do that when we come back. It's the breakfast club. Come morning, It's club. Let's getting some front page news now. Charlemagne is here kind of bringing that a little bit, please to be Yeah, he's here, kind of if he's at the crib. He's trying to broadcast, but we're having technical difficulties. We should be figuring it
out in the next two to three minutes. So Charlemagne is here though, he's on time. But let's get in some front page news now. Jake Paul took on Tyrone Woodley. Did you see the I saw the highlights from it. Well, they say, Jake paul One, I didn't see it. My son is heavy into these YouTube place split decision. Yeah, he's heavy into it. Like they had like a little fight party at the crib. I went to sleep, and when I woke up this morning, he told me that
Jake Paul One. Yeah, people were very shocked and disappointed. Yeah, but it could potentially be a rematch just the f YI, and they had a whole discussion about that too, about whether or not a rematch can happen. And I think we have that audio. I feel like if that was the second biggest pay per view, the round two gonna be bigger than that. I feel like I won the fight. I feel like Jake's great upon it. I didn't expect him to go down. Me and my coaches worked there.
That's why I came in great shape because I knew he can take a punch. But the fact that one judge gave me two rounds, it's laughable, no disrespect, but the fiery fight. Me and Jake can neither run that back. Is that interest to Jake? Of course, you wanted to pay that you had to fight. I don't want to pay that. I want to fight. You had your opportunity. You had your opportunity, so you don't want to fight me again if you get the tattoo I love Jake Paul.
Let's running back cool boys. So you're gonna get a tattooed it says, I love Jake Paul. I mean they'll do anything for money now, huh? All right? And Hurricane Ida made landfall on the coast of Louisiana. This happened Sunday. It came as a powerful category for hurricane but has been downgraded to a tropical storm early today. They said it's a slow movement of a storm and the sustained
power and direction that are of ongoing concerns. So even though it has slow considerably, it does continue to draw energy from its own storm surge as well as the moisture the combination is hitting New Orleans. There's heavy rains, there's strong winds, overpowering some levies and leaving more than one million people without power throughout Louisiana. They said one person was killed a falling tree killed him, and authority said that two hundred people are in imminent danger after
a levee breach. So we'll keep you guys updated. Yeah, this is the anniversary of Katrina. Correct, Yeah, sixteen years since Hurricane Katrina. So all flights have been canceled at the airport there a little over, Like I said, one million homes and businesses without power across the state. Yeah, they were saying that they don't know necessarily how many people have passed yet because they don't want to go out rescuing people in the dark. So they said they're
going to start the rescue in the morning. So they're telling people, if you're home and you can hear or whatever it may be, they're saying, stay in the house, don't go looking around the neighborhood. Let the first responders go and make sure things are safe, that the power lines are not active. Be safe as possible. Let's saying a lot of people are on the second floors of their homes right now because the first floors are all
occupied by water. So they're saying, if you can just be safe, do not go outside if you don't have to, and let the responders do what they gotta do first. And it's tough because you see a lot of people saying, oh, you have to evacuate, Well, why didn't certain people evacuate. Well, some people don't have the means to be able to do that. They don't have any place to go, so they'll try to ride the storm out. So again, our prayers are with everybody that is in Louisiana that is
dealing with this right now. Absolutely all right, And the NBA is requiring all referees to be vaccinated now and if you don't get vaccinated, you will be ineligible to work games. So they've announced that agreement that they've made. And the only people now that don't have to be vaccinated are basically the players that it's not mandated for. So anybody that's a coach and the front office staff, medical staff, security team, communications staff, and scorers all of
them have to be vaccinated. And some teams are requiring that fans provide proop of vaccination to enter their arena. So it's only the players right now. All right, Well that is front page news. Now get it off your chess. Eight hundred five eight five one o five one. If you're upset, you need to vent, call us up right now. Maybe you had a great weekend, you feel blessed, you want to spread some positivity, or maybe a week. It was horrible. All right, let us know maybe you need
some sleep. Maybe you need some sleep. Sounds like you, honeyde eight five eight five one five one, get it off your chess is to breakfast club. Good morning, good breakfast club. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're man black from you on the breakfast club, like you got something on your mind? Who's a pay tomorrow? Good morning? Good morning. How are you guys going? How were you doing? I know you're calling them from Louisiana. What's what's going on in to I'm okay.
The wind is kind of high. I'm actually heading to work. I'm a nurse, so I have to go. But it's not too bad. The wind is real, real high. Other than that, lots of trees, a lot of power lines down, a lot of people out of power, but not too bad, all right. I've been seeing videos of rules flying off and people have been saying that building in their house. But but for on your side, it hasn't been as bad. Yeah.
I'm on actually like the bed rooms side, so we haven't got the words like I've seen videos of like other areas come up, New Orleans, piple old things like that. I know a few people are out that way. Yeah, pretty bad falling off, flying off, not falling, but flying. Yeah, yeah, that way You'll be safe out there, all right. Thanks for checking in with that, and thank you for checking in. Thank you all right, thank you? Hello. Who's this yo?
What's the word vs? Mellow? Are you feeling mellow? What's up? What's popping? First off, I just want to drop to cluster angela yeek angela yea. Day was amazing yo. And first let's drop on cluse bons for you too, because you're working really hard, like you feel me called Chella about to be letting Detroit. I'm definitely slotting respectfully. I appreciate that. Yeah, we just try to set up things that that families can come joy and and have a good time. I'm kind of upset I couldn't make it
the ye day because I was on vacation. But next one I'm definitely there. Yeah, Melo. Actually Meller drove out from Detroit and I actually brought him in travel on stage. Really yeah. Fact, I'm actually driving back to Detroit right now, like I'm out. Okay, we'll be safe when your way down there. Brother, definitely man being pos everybody listening. Man, all right, mellow is a trooper. Let me tell you
I appreciate him so much. He comes to the private label store in Detroit buy his hair for his girl. He brought it to the store before. He drove all the way from Detroit just to come out to Angela. Y day, shout the mellow. Hello, who's this? This is Mark? Mark? What up? Getting off your chests? Hey man, I just got out my chest. My neighbor has been loud all
week and I'm talking about aloud. Get a loud. I stayed in Atlanta, and when I say, these people being yelling out out the window at four o'clock in the morning, out rageous, man. But they've been doing what they've been yelling, they been having sex. So they just been just screaming. Man, it's like crazy, Like they get trunk, and then they start yelling about life, all types of other get all stuff. You know what I'm saying. This It really gets problem.
That's a tough one because you don't want to call the police because you don't want the police to go over there and do something to them, but you kind of want them to shut up, so you you stuck. Its be I'll pay a thousand for them to be yelling out this window. Yeah, you might gotta do so. I don't know what you did. You talk to them about it, Yeah, but they're not trying to hear that. That's not time to covered in the least the p
hear that. What you do is when they what time they go to sleep, what time they start yelling, and you just start playing your music at that time loud as hell. They don't care. They crackheads on the phase down. Okay, damn Yeah, there's nothing you can really do about it. I don't know, Well, maybe you need to move. If your neighbor's a crackheads, maybe it's time to move. Brother. I mean, hey, hold little bit, crackheads. Crackheads. But that's why I'm calling the crack of Dawn. I got you.
They crackheads, They crack of dawn, They crack of dawn heads. He was really all right, thank you, brother, Be safe man. Hey, appreciate y'all. Y'all to get it off your chests. Eight hundred five A five one oh five one. If you need to vent, call us up right now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club, Wake up, Wake up way. You're trying to get it off your chest. We want to hear from you on the wreakfast book. Hello, who's this? This is Kim. Good morning, Hey Kim, get
it off your chest. Okay. I'm calling because I work in retail, right and I have a manager that is the same level as me. But he's very racist. He sends me a lot of racist stuff to my phone all the time. What I'm trying to figure out a way to report him. What does he say he sent me? The last thing he sent me was him on a TikTok video with Antimima and the Quaker Oats guy. So it's like he sends me a lot of racist stuff. He doesn't like the presidents, he doesn't like black people.
But I worked side beside this guy every day and it's starting to make me angry in a way. So I'm trying to figure out a way to tell him, but not go off at work. No, you shouldn't have to tell him. You should take it to your superior and tell him that you you know this, this bothers you, and you feel a way, and you have all and you have all the evidence right there on your phone. Yes, ma'am. I have everything that he sent me within the last two weeks, and they've all been racist. Yeah, I would.
I would give it to my superior and tell him I feel uncomfortable with this. I mean, yeah, I get it, but I just don't want to go off at work in front of my associates and everything because I'm a manager. But now, hold on a second, Hold on a second, don't even worry about that right now, because also as a manager, it is your responsibility to have a safe environment for everybody, including yourself. Yes, ma'am. I mean I'm trying, Like my breast cancer came back, so I'm trying to
be positive. But when you got somebody that you work with on a baby basis and then restless, it's starting to affect me. Yeah, some people deserve for you to go off. So you don't have to control yourself, okay, and you know you can always be doing that in a manner that is, you don't have to like get crazy with it. But I would say, I don't even know how you can handle that, deal with it, but you definitely need to, like, you definitely need to say something.
You don't have to worry about how people look at you, because they should be looking at him like he's the one that has an issue, not you, right, And it seemed like everybody that's been uh black black I am, they have like he's already give something to like make them leave the store or just want to quit and don't want to work for our company anymore. And that's not our belief. But it's just getting to the point that it's just getting overwhelming. Yeahs, you should go to
human resources today father complaint saying he's harassing you. He's sitting you racist things, and I'm sure they will take care of it because if they don't take care of it, you will have a lawsuit out the ass. And you guys should all come together, everybody that's been complaining that he's done things too, and put it all together. Yes, ma'am, it's not just me. It's just like everybody can't see it.
But it's like, Okay, we had work. So if other associates are like doing TikTok videos and he's sitting in his office doing TikTok videos about black people, it's just getting that wild. Yeah, you gotta go to human resources today and call us back. Let us know when you go you should go today. Okay, I sure well. I thank you guys, and I love you guys. I listen to you every morning on my way to work. Thank you so much. Welcome back with everything. Hello, who's this? Hey?
This Sacia he Sta, Get it off your chest? Um, I just want to call in. We are in good speries. Me and my husband just got buried on Saturday. We're headed her nice, Yes, were you going there? We are headed to King Ko. Okay, we're headed to the airport. Now, thank you. I will say this, Um, be careful when you drink. Don't don't drink the water. Make sure all
the water is bottled. And make sure when you if you use like ice, that the ice is filtered, because if not, you're gonna have um, you're gonna have muddy waters all week long. Oh goodness, thank you so much. All right, have a good one. Enjoy your honeymoon, y'all too. Thank you honeymoon. But all right, you have a going she said, have a good one too, that's what she. Oh, okay, all right, get it off your chest. Eight hundred five eight five one on five one. If you need to vent,
you can hit us up. Now. We got rooms on the way, Yes and this music mogul says he had a very rough week, and he said he was battling a little bit of depression. All right, we'll get into that next keeping locked. This the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club, Charlomagne. You want to check Can you finally hear me? On my head? Am? I checked in for the week? Hu? Yes, you're you're
finally here. Okay, yes, you're here. Welcome back, welcome back? Oh, yes, man, thank you for having me. All right, let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Diddy. This is the rumor report with Angela Yee on the Breakfast Club. Well, Dinny was very honest over the weekend about struggling with depression and how he managed to get himself out of it. This isn't the first time that he's talked about his struggles with depression. Here's what he had to say. It is Friday,
and I can't lie. I had a rough week. I ain't gonna lie. Went into a dark state, which is a little stated depression, Like how could you be depressing? You got so much. I don't even know how that works, you know what I'm saying. But you know, I just kept fighting, started asking God to help me. Yeah. So I just kept praying to God, God help me, God help me, God help me. Just kept breathing. You gotta fight your way out. Did God let God? And I let go. He also talked about this the positive sides
that the weeknd. You didn't get that part where he talked about this was a great weekend. After the weekend, God was with him. He was grateful that his daughters walked into Docha Gabana show. He said, uh, it was then all of a sudden, he said his mom was dead, and then he said he started raining, and then he said a rainbow came and he felt like that was Kim saying, you know, I continue to watch. Yeah. He
also said that too. We mean, I mean, the thing with DIDDI is the brothers dealing with a lot of grief. I don't care how much money you have. Grief is grief. That emotion hits different regardless and it comes in waves. So yeah, man, take care of yourself. Everybody out there, and I'm sending healing energy to all the kings and
queens dealing with some grief this morning. H right. It's so to some people look at you and think like, oh, you have all this money, you have all this going on, and they act like, you know, you don't deal with things like that, And so you can't even explain because none of that money, no matter how much money you got, you can't bring back the person that you're missing. So all right now, Ninie Leaks is also talking about what
she's going through at home now. Over the weekend, she was captured on camera at her lounge and she was on the microphone and she was telling the club attendees that you know, she needs some extra love right now. Both she and her son are not in the best spirits. Apparently what happened is somebody I guess that was at the lounge was celebrating their birthday and someone must have asked for a birthday shout out, and then somewhere along the way it got out that Ninie was being rude.
I don't know what exactly happened, but here is what that video sounded like. So she said her husband is transitioning to the other side. So when you see them, give them a lot of love and like she said, when you see some people, you don't know what they're going through at home. So yeah, we are both sides. So you gotta see somebody comes to your restaurant to celebrate a birthday, say hey, can I get a birthday shout out? You know, they don't know they just asked
for a shout up, you know what I mean? Yeah, I mean, you know it's a hard thing to say though, because if you pay what they're going for the food, you say, hey can I get a birthday shout out? You know, you don't know what somebody's going through. What you would expect it to be okay, because I paid for the table, I paid for the food, I paid for the drinks. Hey give me in birthday shout out. Yeah, you're just coming to get your service. You don't you
don't know that. You know, Yeah, she's she's going through something. And if that's the case, she might have to take a day off or two days off, because that is your your your business. You want to make sure your business is ran the right way and that people come there and have a great time, regardless of what you're going through in your life, because this is your business, right and the person who actually recorded the video, said that they never said that she was rude, and that
they were sending prayers to her family. To her and her family as well, the same send sending healing energy to Ninnie Leaks and her Absolutely, I'm definitely doing the same. All right, now, are you guys ready for at L two? There was an unconfirmed trailer for the sequel, The Homecoming, that was leaked on Instagram, and then the original director, Chris Robinson did confirm that the sequel is happening. He did a repost and he said, we did it again.
So what do you guys think? Are y'all excited to see at L two? Um? I thought the whole point of atl was the fact that they were supposed to be young growing in Atlanta, you know what I mean? So what's gonna be them as adults? I'm sure now where their lives went? New cast members? Yeah, I means the same old cast members. I saw the trailer. Yeah, they're the same cast members in the trail. But maybe it's like, you know, kids involved, who knows, I don't know. Possibly,
all right. Eddie Murphy, by the way, it is going to be in a starring in a comedy that's directed by Kenya Barris and also Jonah Hill will be co starring as well. So Kenya Barris is also a producer and so is Jonah Hill. What do y'all think about that? That sounds very interesting. That's an interesting combination. Well, and you know, Kenya Barris also worked with UM with Eddie Murphy on coming to America, so could be interesting to see the two. Yeah, the number two you know coming
to America too. I forget y'all can't see that too when I say it, But yes, So that comedy is going to be produced by both Jonah Hill and Kenya Barris's production companies. But it's the directorial debut for Kenya Barris, so congratulations to him. That's a big one to come out the gate with. All right, well, I mean adela yee, and that is your rumor reports. All right now, we
got front page news next. What we're talking about, Yes, and we'll be talking about two high profile ISIS targets that were killed in a US drone strike in Afghanistan. All right, we'll get into that next. Keep a Lottie to Breakfast Club. Good morning, So Breakfast Club, your mornings will never be the same it's answer the ye feel tired and out of it? You could be dealing with junk sleep from sleeping on the wrong mattress. The Mattress Firm Sleep experts will match you to the perfect mattress
and help you unjunk your sleep. Visit mattis Firm dot com or a matchis Firm store Today. Let's get in some front page news where we start? Ye? All right, Well, let's start with isis K. They claim responsibility for the attack that involved a suicide bomber that detonated an explosive belt at the airport in Afghanistan at Kabol that killed thirteen US service members and more than one hundred and
ten Afghans. More than one hundred were wounded in those blasts. Well, two high profile Islamic State Group targets were killed from isis K and one of them was wounded when US military forces conducted a drone strike on Friday in Afghanistan. According to Army Major General William hang Taylor, he said, we know of zero's civilian casualties. Without specifying any future plans, I will say that we will continue to have the ability to defend ourselves and to leverage over the Horizon
capability to conduct counter terrorism operations as needed. Yikes. So, as you know, Biden bowed in a speech on Thursday, the US to respond to attacks with force. He had said to those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes American harm, know this, we will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay. And he did repeat that vow on Saturday. He said this strike was not the last. We will continue to hunt down any person involved in
that heinous attack and make them pay. Whenever anyone seeks to harm the US or attack our troops, we will respond. So we bout the war. I don't think it's gonna be a war, but I mean, you know, you still can't bring back those thirteen, you know, US soldiers that are that are gone. But when things like that happened, retaliation is a must, right, And then they're gonna retaliate. Then we're gonna retaliate. Then they're gonna retaliate. Then we're
gonna retaliate. All on what year? This was this the twenty anniversary at nine eleven this year? Yikes, yeah, oh yeah, that is coming up in two weeks, two weeks. Ye, all right, all right, and you know, speaking of anniversaries, it is the sixteenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. It was yesterday and that's when Hurricane Ida actually slammed Louisiana. Right now, they said, so far they know of one casualty. It was a man who was killed by a tree that fell.
And in addition to that, here is Joe Biden discussing what they did for this state of emergency. We've already prepositioned resources that we know are going to be needed. This includes two point five million meals, three million liters of water. We've got generators in place, and we're in close touch with the power providers to get and restore
power as soon as possible. We've got thirteen urban search and rescue teams, more than one hundred ambula twos, and emergency medical teams have been activated, and we're working with the Red Cross and local partners to open dozens and dozens of shelters with cots and blankets and meals to support those we need to evacuate. Yeah, they were just saying on the news that all the power is out in Louisiana right now. In New Orleans and New Orleans.
All the power is out, and they're saying that if you're if you're stuck in the house, they say, don't leave the house. Let the first responders get out there first and make sure things are safe. They're saying that nobody's out right now doing it. They're gonna wait till it gets a little light because it's too dark as of right now. So they're saying, just you know, whole ground for a little bit, and they're sending the troops
out and people out to help. I wonder how hectic the hospitals are in New Orleans right now, especially because you've got people probably in there with COVID and other things, not a hurricane. I wonder how I wonder how it is for the hospitals out there. Well right now, the hurricane has a weakened from a category four to a Category one storm. But they did say that they expect tornadoes today from southeast from southeast Louisiana to the western
Florida Panhandle. And there's more than one million homes and businesses without power. So the City Sewer and Water Board also said the power less could affect a very significant number of its eighty four sewer pumping systems. They said they had obtained backup generators for some but that in order to prevent sewage backups, they've asked residents to limit water usage at home. That decreases the amount of wastewater
that has to be removed. But they did say the water is safe to drink from the city right now. But this is a devastating, life threatening storm. So again, our prayers to everybody in Louisiana who's going through it right now. Definitely. All right, well that is your front page news. All right, thank you. Hey, did y'all talk about the fight last night? Yeah, we spoke about it first, Yeah we did. Okay, Yeah, I just want to say, I just want to say it's as simple as this.
When Jake Paul gets in the ring with a real boxer, any boxer, he's losing, and probably losing really bad because Tyrone Woodley is not a boxer. He's an MMA fighter with some striking ability. But he put the pauls on Jake Paul last night. Okay, Jake Paul has yet to fight a real boxer. You said he was Oh you didn't see the fight, did you made Jake Paul almost fall through the Ropes. I did see that that shot. Okay,
who wanted to fight at the end. I mean it was a split decision, But I mean if Tyron would would have been more aggressive, he'd warn that fight easily. But this is Jake Paul has never fought a real boxer. He's fared a YouTube star, NBA player and two MMA fighters. Today, he ever fights a real boxer, which he shouldn't, he's gonna get really hurt. Yeah, I don't think depending on
who the boxer is. No, no, no, not anybody, any any boxer with some real boxing talent and skill will be there, all right, All right now, when we come back, Soaker Queen Alison Hines will be joining us. She performed a day over the weekend and we're gonna kick it with her when we come back, all right. So don't know if it's the Breakfast Club, Good morning, the Breakfast Club, Yeah, just the one, no dangerous want to show the Breakfast Club Charlotmagne and God ANGELI Ye, we got a special
guest in the Building't tell them who we got. Jesus A Listenines, Soca, what's up. I'm good, I'm good, I'm awake. Absolutely we're working really hard on getting Charlottagne to appreciate dance, soca and reggae. I heard, why does a thing I do appreciate it? I do appreciate it. I'm just I just never I said one time, I don't actually love it. That's fine. People go crazy, but that's fine. That's why you can't like everything. You know what I mean, I do.
I don't, you know, I don't automatically expect, first of all, for people to know soca music because it's you know, it's still very niche. But the people that know it know it. I love it. Yeah, I don't know nothing about something about reggae dancer. I didn't even know this. This is something else to tell them about socer music. So you can explain the difference. So okay, so how can I explain soca m and you you probably have heard some of my songs, even roll It Girl, but
yeah you roll it giral for sure. UM roll role it girl, girl. Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely that's my track. Soca music is Actually it's really happy. It's very high energy, great melodies, and it's very interactive, so it's all the waving it's singing is you know, move from the left to the right, the back, the front. You can't be sad listening to Soca. Yeah. And if you were sad and you listen to Soca music, that's it. You make
you happy. Oh absolutely, that's absolutely so. The song in the Pool was a song no no I was talking about because I was trying to cling when we all because he made that sound so crazy, the song in the pool. Now, but we didn't go to Jamaica on a trip for the breakfast class, okay, And this was like way earlier when we first started and they would not start playing Broke It Down, And I was saying, I like that Alexan remix. Yes, I did a remix
to that song. I did. So. I did the Socca remix to Vegas Is Yeah, Broke Broke Broken, Yeah, and that my favorite version. Understand, Like, okay, remember when we were okay, Okay, So, is there a difference between Soca and reggae? Yes, there is, Okay, reggae is and reggae and dance. Yeah, so reggae is more. Um, I guess along the lines of what Booju and Taurus Riley and
Bariss Hammond would do. Um a kind of Bob Marley. Yes, of course Bob Danceaul would be along the lines of mister Vegas and you know more it's edgy and then soca music. We borrow from each other because that's how music is um. But soccer is definitive in terms of it's just very as I said, it's very happy, it's very high energy carnival. Yeah into it because you're so you're from the UK, but then you moved to Barbados. Yes, so I'm British born and then moved to Barbados because
my dad was Beijing. He's passed away since my mom is. My parents split up and my mom took me to Barbados and I used to go to Barbados on vacation and I fell in love with the island from like the first time. So then unfortunately my parents split, but I was happy to be in Barbados. I moved there when I was like twenty eleven, so I was in England before. That Was that a culture shock for you?
It was? It was because you know, there are a lot of bugs and there's a lot of different things that are very pretty different, so well, come on, So I actually got exposed to soccer and reggae and Caribbean music on the whole from moving to Barbados because I didn't really even though I had West Indian parents, I was very much a British kid. I was into British pop and rock. I was into Queen and Police and
all of that. So how has the pandemic been for you? Like, during this time not being able to travel and perform, it was it has been challenging. I will not like, I like most artists, you know, I went from having all of these book ins to like everything just went poof and I had to make conscious decisions. One of them was in terms of my training and so on. I was like, I'm not coming out of lockdown. I'm not doing it. So that was I was. I was like,
I'm not what about what about your mental health? All of that was key to my mental health because there were times, and I will not like it was times when I would feel depressed and if you go I didn't want what I say, go down a rabbit hole because if you keep going in that, you just keep going and go deeper and deeper and deeper. And I will be like, all right, Allison, you gotta figure out away to be able to you know, to get and having family too. Having having your family there, um definitely
helps a lot. All Right, we have more with the Soca Queen Alison Hines. When we come back, don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, horning everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela, Yane Charlomagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now we're still kicking it with the Soca Queen Alison Hynes. Yeah, when did you meet your husband? We met, We met. It was a while. I feel like your mind is saying too long, too long ago? It was, Um, it was would have been the late nineties. I would have
met him. How he approach you? Um, we met a wedding. Wow, the irony, the irony of it, right, the irony, Oh my gosh. This accent. He's got to hear it. I heard it. I heard it. I heard it. I heard it. The accent Beida accent because the bad your accent different to the chuni Accenter. No, no, the difference. The chuni Accenter is more of a little sing song kind of thing. That's true. I don't like to say the word nanny, but my extended family member who watching my children. Yes,
and that's how she sounds right. Yes, it's sing song, yes, yes, but Bija accent is a different kind of thing altogether. So don't worry. I can teach you a few absolutely a little something something absolutely right. Good, I forget the question. Yes, So I was actually singing at the wedding. I was singing in the church and he was there as a guest. It was his cousin, one of his cousins that was getting married. And usually I would just sing and I would go and a friend of mine was a guest
and he was like, well, come to the reception. And I was like yeah, He's like come on. I'm like okay. It was a white Bijan wedding, right, So we have no people from Barbados, Barbadian or Beigeon, a majority black country, okay, but we do have white Asian Indian who are born and raised in Barbados. A Beigeons Asian Bigeons is the food better trash and a white wedding, no sing. But you find that there's separation in terms of the communities meeting.
So white Beigeons are any minority, but they tend to kind of stick to themselves kind of thing. So the fact that it was a white beigeon wedding. It was like, I don't. I didn't really know a lot of white beigeons. So I was like, yeah, maybe I'll just kind of take a little walk through. And then so I decided to go into the into the tent. Well, I knew the I actually knew the couple that got married. So that's how I ended up singing for the wedding. They requested it. So I went in and I actually saw
a friend of mine. She is a dancer, so she exam whatever whatever, and then she was like, um, if you ever met my brother. I'm like, well, I didn't even know you had a brother. So she's like, come,
let me introduce you to my brother. And she introduced me to this tall, six foot something guy with green eyes, curly hair, and cute and I was like hello, and we started, you know, we started talking and I don't remember a lot of what we talked about, but we kind of started us where our you know, our friendship kind of started from there, and then you know, it became more as we went along. Why don't you remember the conversation because in your mind you was already thinking,
as long as you don't say the wrong thing. Yeah, good, that's exactly it, as exactly as you could say anything to me right now. The probably so many men were trying to high at you, yeah all the time. Was that hard for him to have you traveling being on a road working, by the way, That wasn't at all likely. I'm just telling the truth, you know what I'm saying. Um, not really, because we tried to stay in contact. You know.
Um he met me doing this, right, you know, it's not like this is a surprise, So it's like it's something that you have to deal with. Yeah, yeah, because I know I don't intend on stuffing anytime soon. That's not interesting that you met your husband because a lot of you know, celebrities, they don't trust people because they're like, what if this person's intention? Right, So how did you open yourself up to say, you know what, maybe this this guy might be the one for real? I think
it was. It was his approach. He didn't come at me like that typical guy that was all about Alison Hines kind of thing. I love Rag the muffin the day answer. So I'm sure he you know yeah yeah, yeah yeah, members in the business. Yeah, So he just spoke to you like a person here. Yeah. Yeah, And
the thing is we had a friendship. You understand, we had a friendship, and for me that was really um, that was really important because we could talk and not just kind of like random stuff, just really talk and hang out and that kind of stuff. So all of that kind of because we got to know each other. Was his sister's intention to hook you up. I don't know, you know, I'm trying to Did I ever ask her that? Because it feels like she said, you mean my brother
coming got them? Yeah, that accident, I got my nickname. Um, I don't. I don't know if she consciously did you know, maybe there was something somewhere her psyche. Did you ever give her a gift or anything? The gift one she came to the to the to the wedding. Okay, okay, okay, like her brother got married off. True, So you know, but yeah, I have I I have really cool sisters, sisters in laws. All right, we have more with the Soca Queen Alice and Nins. When we come back, don't move.
It's to breakfast club, Good morning morning. Everybody is DJ Envy Angela Yee, Charlomagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now we're still kicking it with the Soca Queen Alison Hynes. Yeah. Do you feel like Soco music is getting way more popular now? I think to a point, but there's still a lot more that needs to happen. So for people listening, if they've never really heard Soca, or they have and
don't realize it, we have, Alison Hynes. Can you talk about some other Soca artists who you should say, put this on your playlist so you can get familiar. Okay, let me right, So I'm thinking my show of course, my Shaw Montana. Well, I know Marsha Mantana because when I was what's his name, Marsha Montana, I was Gula one year and he former for New Year's Eve and she was when I was there. Okay, okay, okay, okay, yeah,
Mishell Maschell for sure, he's like the king of so good. Yeah, yeah, so he would be if you're the queen, he's the king. That's right. Okay, that's right, Okay, that's right. Marshell um Kess. He has more of like an R and B part kind of kind of vibe and he's cute too, and he did angela Day last year. The virtual version. Okay, okay, okay, that's hello Hello, there you go, there you go on the on the female tip would be Patrise Roberts. She is, um,
she's been. She actually was in Michell's barn at one point when she was just coming up. Um. There's also Nadia Batson. Nadia is a singer songwriter. She has an amazing voice. This woman, as we say as West India, says trout real truth. She can did you never want to hear you saying no? But he says it ain't gonna be right, no, no, no, not for you? Ye too? Oh god, oh man? Have you ever heard the song
throat Baby? No that I can't amazing? Don't need all right, kind now, I just want to give people some guidance because you know, we are trying to make sure that everybody gets familiar. So oh of course, of course, of course. So yeah, we're gonna put together a nice playlist for Charlotte Magne after all of this, so he could listen and yeah, time with it. I'm gonna tell DJ Spice to do it for you, yes, yes, yeah, yeah, no, that would be that would be good. What can make
Soca more popular? Because you got all these all these streaming platforms, so it's easy access to it, you think can make it more popular. I really think in terms of distribution, like even though yes, you have the streaming platforms and so on, you need that additional, the additional you need that budget. Really to be able to get
the music out there. You need to be able to you know, do all the the you know, get onto the interviews and get into That's really I think that's really where because in Soca there's no there's no label that just pushes Soca music like in general, right, so each artist is independent. Basically that's crazy. Soca don't have a VP record. The VP Records actually does have yet
That's what that's that's what this with with the new song. Um, I'm doing it in collaboration with VP Records, so you know I have that, I have VP as as my machine behind me, you know, to kind of really get it get and truefully that's why what Angela Ye day. I try to bring all of these artists from the Caribbean to do the dance, all the reggae is Soca just because I do want to shed some light and
that's why I wanted to have you up here. Because I feel like it's you know, way past time, is overdue and well deserved, and so I just want to make sure that we are here more educated on it and paying attention. So I appreciate you for coming through. I appreciate you for performing at Angela Ye Day. So I'm excited that you're here, and I am I am thankful. I am very thankful and very appreciative to both of you, to the Breakfast Club, to you Angela Angree for having
me on your event. And you know, just having this opportunity and having this platform to be able to expose Soca music and me as an artist, and this is a big deal for me. You know, it's a big difference to this is this is a this is a big deal. It is interesting me like radio, even black radio don't embrace reggae, dancehall and Soco Moore. It's always like one song at a time. Yes, yeah, yeah, that's what's been happening. You're absolutely correct. It's been one song.
It's been you know, it would be role It Gal or it would be Um Bungees Um Differentology or as Kevin Little turn Me On or as Rupees Tempted to Touch You know, it's like one song and then a few years later it's another song. And you know up here was rumping shot. Remember they were right, that was Vibes, Spice, Cartel and Spice. Yeah, and now it's almost like afrobeat is kind of taking those slots out. Yeah radio, Yeah, yeah,
for sure, for sure. How you feel about afrobeat? I love afrobeat because you know, kara bait, that's that's our ancestry. Our beats come from, come from that, you know. And I actually had the opportunity to go to Ghana a couple of times in twenty nineteen, and that was my first time and that's when I it really cemented and I understood that's really where our ancestry is from. That was that was a huge That was a huge experience with me. It really made me understand that people of
color are. We are so resilient, that's right, and so strong to have gone through what we went through for so many years and still be here. That's why we need to start telling the story from a perspective of us where the survivors correct, you know, people survived, we survived, correct. We got to start having that conversation of you know, not just being the descendants of the enslaved. But where
the survivors? Correct? Correct? I agree? Would you collaborate what I'm sure you would, But would you collaborate with afrobeats artists there? Somebody? Definitely, definitely somebody want to. Actually, I know Storm Boy, so we've actually talked and you know, we're trying to work on getting collab going. But yeah,
I love afrobeats. Afrobeats is is vibes. If they're a Caribbean woman who can't dance, if they're a Caribbean woman with no river, it's like every Caribbean woman has even when you did that just now, Um, I'm sure there are very few, very few Caribbean women that don't have rhythm. Because it is the Black is, the Asian is, the White is, the Indian is all all all all and all the blends, all the blends in between. Everybody could wine at least a little bit, at least a little bit,
at least a little bit. Let me tell you at some white girls that could pelt waste. You know, het pelt pelt wast. Pelt waste means your your waist ration now wine, oh got you got you? Yeah? Absolutely, we call pelting, pelting waste. No, man's like, no, no, I'm not going there, but okay that's where. Can people find you online so they can follow you get more information? Yes, yes,
so you can find me. Of course. I'm on Instagram, I'm on Facebook, I'm on Twitter under my name Alison Hines one Ellen Allison A L I S O N h I N D s and not to e because as get at so HI n D s now. I have a tech talk account okay that I'm going to actually put stuff up on, but I have a really helped waste'll get you so fun heeled waste. This is what we're this is what we're going to do, Angie, We're going to pelt waste. Good shot, but a good trout.
I can do that. Funny guys, funday Alison Hines, Alison, thank you for coming, queen, thank you for having me. I do appreciate it. It was it was fun. It was fun. It's Alison had just the breakfast club listen, oh club. Well, Kanye's album Donda is finally out and people were surprised because nobody thought it was gonna drop until next week. There's been so many delays. But Kanye posted that this Universal put my album out without my approval, and they blocked Jail two from being on the album.
That's cap you know, Dan Well universally and put that album out without his approval. I remember last week, at some point last week you reported the album was dropping on the Sunday. Yeah, I mean they were a few different days. They actually had it, I think for next week, and they said it was the third. Then they said
it was coming out on the fifth. There was just all kinds of confusion, but I remember they said it was coming out right after he had this last listening session exactly, and his whole team, including Booze, part of his bandage. It was we're tweeting about the album when they dropped. They were even they even were posting the process like, oh just turned it into such and such, like stop. Kanye is a clown. He is a clown. He is a clown in the circus, and I'm ashamed
of the people around him. Boo Free pusha monopoly. He is a clown. And if you don't get your guy together, like Charlemagne said seven years ago when he came up here and said, the people around you don't love you, and Kanye the people around you don't love you, you are a clown. And then we take it back energy, and we take it back to what you would say in South Carolina. You need to get boxed in the malt are energy envy. You are clown and the people
around you are clowns. If they don't check you, you are a clown. I'm sending Kanye was healing energy, but I agree with you, clown. I agree with him about his people. It's a lot of people who enable a lot of toxic behavior from Kanye. Was a lot of people. If my friend, if my friends around don't check me when I do stupid ish, I'm their clowns too. And if I ever did some clown ish, my friends would check me. Charlemagne would check me. Ye would check me.
Let's talk about clowns. It's not our story to til Hotel, I would love. I'm talking about you all right now. It was a joke, all right now. Kanye is on the way to break the record for the most number one albums on the Billboard two hundred among artists debuting on the charts. So it looks like that has happened because he is number one, and we got some clips for you, But just as far as the song jail right, he said, the Baby's manager isn't clearing jail. He posted
a conversation that Boo had with him his manager. He says, so we won't be able to upload unless we take him off. What your thoughts? Kanye responded, why won't he clear jail? And he said, I don't know, and neither is answering their phone. Kanye said, I'm not taking my brother off. He was the only person who said he would vote for me in public. And he said, so the album's not coming out, and so then we saw that the Baby's manager, Arnold responded, this is cap I
woke up this morning to the social media bs. I never got to call our email from Kanye Boo John Monopoly. I just received it today and cleared it in two seconds. Why wouldn't I want to hit song out? It's all about the growth and culture of hip hop and my artists to all of the media, blogs and outlets. Don't
believe everything you see in the post. Thank you? Yeah, that sounds to me like nobody around Kanye wanted to simply tell him, like, hey man, I don't think you should put the baby on this album right now because of everything that's surrounding the Baby right now. So instead of just telling Kanye that they made up that whole story about, you know, honor them not wanting to clear the records, that's my personal opinion. Well, the Baby was added to the album after his manager cleared the Verse
un Jail Part two. So that's how the album is twenty seven songs long. So all right, now, let's talk about some of the features and some of the things on the album. This was Beautiful. His mom's voice is actually featured on the album on a song called Donda. He told me I could talk about anything I wanted you,
and you know, I am my son's mother. The man I describe in the introduction that's being so decidedly different my son, And what made the project extra special to me is I got a chance to share not only what he has meant to me, but what he has meant to a generation. As one writer said, we came from somewhere, not just from the wounds of our mothers and the seeds of our fathers, but from a long line of generations who came before it. That song also
features Ariana Grande an Tony Williams now. In addition to that, on the song Jesus Lord, which features the Locksday Electronica and Swizz, he talks about his own suicidal thought, there are too many peoples, so much posts, so much planned, too many emotions and everything that you do good? It just go on lotus. Did it kill you that you're good? It just the folks Murma, you was the life for the party. That's the best song on the album to me,
especially the version with the locks. Yeah. I agree, that's the best one and that is what's on the album. Also there's Lord I Need You, where Kanye is talking about his marriage. We used to do the freak like seven days a week. It's the best laugh since Taco Bella caf seat. Oh talk to me, Nicety, don't come, I mean lid you had a business sixteen Ikbelly Afford to Autie all right now. Everybody was not happy about
this Kanye album. Soldier Boy was upset because I guess he submitted a verse for a Remote Control and it didn't make it onto the album, so he posted I don't know how to fail. Kanye sent me that song remote Control, and I don't hear my verse on it. F that n word. They said the boys managed it, didn't Clarendon tell and then he said, he said tell home, he don't hit my phone no more. He posted the conversations to him and Kanye had where Kanye told him, Yo,
it's yeah, I love you, bro, You're a genius. Want to work with you on the new campaign and my new album. So Soldier boys not happy and he asked people should he leak? He said, f that my Kanye West, this song, it's going to drop Untie his sparing his clown ass is that word again? Clown Now? Another person who was not happy it is Chris Brown. After the said Donda, he called Kanye. He said, Kanye a whole hole Kane, Kanye who hold out yea, Oh my goodness, wow,
and then he said, nah he tweaking now. Five year Fourian was happy though, because everybody everybody was saying, nah, were tweaking this weekend or not tweeting? Tweaking now? Five Yo says that after this album comes out now he's going to switch his attention to five year Fouran's project, and I guess he'll be executive producing. But Fabrio said, I want certain people, but we're gonna work together and put our brains together. I trust his judgments. Did y'all
listen to the album? How do y'all feel about it? I'm not listening. It's twenty seven songs, so it's a lot to digest. Did you listen you're gonna support Kanye? I did. I listened to it yesterday. Um. I don't know if it's lackluster or too long, maybe both, you know A point first listen? For me, it was just it was kind of lackluster and long. Hour and forty eight minutes is nuts, you know what I mean? It's
a double album. Yeah, even yeah, even without all the part twos on, it is just still too long, and then it gets exhausting, and the music to me sounds kind of dated, like Kanye's flowing his his his sound, kind it sounds kind of dated albums. I wasn't blown away a point first listen. All right. Well, Kim and Kanye I reportedly working on rebuilding their relationship also, so
I think it's just the foundation of it. They still are planning to get divorced for now, but apparently they do want what's best for their kids, and so at least they're on good terms. One's Drake album coming out September three. We're gonna get to that next Yeah, we're gonna get to that in the next hour. But yes, it is coming out September third. And you said they vandalized. We're not vandalized. But they put signs outside of Kanye's home that he grew up in. I thought they spray painted.
I thought they thought they did vandalize it. Well, there's some signs out front and it says forty five forty four burnt out, you know, based on the verse from Drake, And then it says f Justin le Boy CLB coming soon. No, we do need to say something about Justin. I love Justin, but Justin that man sent you on a dummy mission for three weeks with wrong release dates and didn't even give you the proper release date to tweet out this weekend. All right, well that is your rumor report. We got
dates for Kendrick to date for Kendrick. Kanye send Justin L Boy on the dummy mission for three weeks straight with wrong release dates and couldn't even give him the right release date this weekend. Come on, man, I'll tell you he's a clown man. Now you start looking at Let me look at that stupid jacket he's been wearing. That's a clown jacket. That's a clown out for them, stupid ass sneakers. There's a clown sneakers. Then Kanye's healing energy.
Stop send them healing energy man. All right, all right, you just talk this morney about how you don't know what people are going through. That's right, sending the brother healing in. Yeah, but it's also the people around you actually check you when you do some stupid ish even no matter what you're going through. I do agree, no matter what you're going through, it doesn't give you a
license to abuse people. That's right to be disrespectful. Yeah, yeah, sometimes I think I think some people times you just need to get punched in the face, a couple of just one good one, good time, just a little bloody the mouth, a little bit, not hurt nobody. Way out to encourage anybody punching someone in the satch Kanye, what's in the mouth. We don't encourage that. Yeah, sometimes you need that absolutely disrespectful. Yes, you need the bloody the
mouth sometimes. I agree. Let me get some breakference for us for I have this conversation with you in front of millions of people, who you giving a donkey to? Man, send me some energy. Four after the hour a donkey the day. I have to go to former Patriots quarterback Scott Zolack. He needs to come to the front of the kind of get you. We like to have a world with him. Police, what's so funny? Why are you laughing? Because I'm just sitting here sending out healing energy to people. Man,
that's all. I'm just sending healing energy. All right, that's all the Breakfast Club go morning. So Breakfast Club, your morning's will never be the same. You're up, Yallas, DJ and V. Now you like attention because you'll be getting all the looks with the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold three five G or z Flip three five G. One literally unfolds into a tablet and the other fits into your palm shop now at Simson not come five G.
Connection and availability may vary. Check with carrier. Let's say, let's don't be a dusty because right now you want some real It's time for donkey of the day. So if we ever feel I need to be a donkey, man, give me with the heat. Did she get the lease? I had become donkey of the day, the breakfast club bitching you're a donkey, wow donkey today for Monday, August thirty, if goes the ex Patriots quarterback Scott zola Yes, Scott Zolac was New England Patriots quarterback I think from nineteen
ninety to nineteen ninety eight. Don't quote me on that now. Listen, it's a Monday morning. No better time to talk about double standards than on a Monday morning, right. Double standards happen all day, every day. I hate double standards, by the way, even though we all know they exist, I hate them. I hate them because they make people simply not be consistent. Okay, the things a man does, a woman can't do things a woman does. A man can't
do things a black person say. White people can't say things that white people do, black people can't do I mean, a double standard is simply a cold or policy that favorites one group are person over another. Now, when it comes to sports, it's hard to point out double standard sometimes because superstar players, regardless of race, will always get preferential treatment. It just is what it is. So when I'm looking at the Scott Zolac story, and why he's
getting dunky today. I see a lot of people saying it's a our race. Maybe probably, but I think in sports it could be about winning. Who's one who hasn't see Cam Newton is currently the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots, but Mac Jones from the University of Alabama, who the Patriots drafted number fifteen overaw this year, is showing some promise and Scott Zolak, former QBA the Patriots, was critical of Cam and the difference between him and
mac Jones. Scott fields like Cam is being distracted by well, let's go to ninety eight point five to sports Hub for the report police. I turned off the rap music first of all, because I think gets distracting for Cam here because in between every throw he's dancing. I did see. I did see Karen Garigi into the Herald tweeting about that as he took the field. He's doing it in between drolls. You're saying, yeah, yeah, he makes a throw
and the music is still cracking. I know you could hear faintly in the background here, but he can't help himself to where that looks like he came to work again, but again gonna say, is that atypic that none of this sounds a typical different? Yeah? Different? Okay different? Well that's what he does, right, I mean, so I would it would be to me it would be more noteworthy if he was doing something that was out of character.
Like it sounds like he's doing all the same stuff, which means he might be first through the drills, which I don't which I don't like. Rap music, rap music. Rap music is distracting Cam Newton because it causes him to dance between throws. He makes the throw and the music still cranking. As Scott says, Scott, two words for you, So what okay? Number one, Cam Newton has probably been listening to rap music at practice for the majority of his football career. Secondly, rap music is the music of
a couple of a couple of generations. Okay, hip hop is the music of a couple of generations. Now I'm sure, and I can say this with absolutely no statistical facts to back it up, but Jority of the NFL probably practices the rap music. In fact, I know a person who used to practice the rap music all the time, not only practice the rap music. Still to this day he posts videos with rap songs to his ig page. Rap seems the toivate this person quite often, and that
person is Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Junior. Okay, in fact, and you can research this yourself. There's a great article on the sports rush dot com with the headline Tom Brady used to come out to Jay Z at Gillette Stadium, Cam Newton being discrapted by rap music shows the double standards that exist within the New England Patriots. Great article because anyone who's been watching the NFL for years knows how much Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Junior loves rap music.
Not just loves rap music, but gets his life to rap music. So when you hear a former Patriots quarterback like Scott Zola critiquing another Patriots quarterback for doing something that we know we've seen Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Junior du quite often, then well we have to dig into it to see exactly what the issue is. Now. Not only did Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Junior come out to Jay Z's PSA at Gillette Stadium, he's been called a practice this dancing to the me goals in between throws.
It's all in this article on the sports rush dot Com. Go check it out. Now. The issue is the double standard here? Why does the double standard exist? Easy to say race totally would understand if you said a race unconscious bias. Maybe black man rap music, Okay, white man rap music distraction for the black man. Never even heard you mention it. In regard to Thomas said with Patrick Brady Jr. But I think the real issue here is winning and losing. I don't think Cam gets criticized if
he had won a super Bowl in New England. Hell yeah, damn. Show won't get criticized if you win one super Bowl, nonetheless six for an organization. But this is one of those times when when when you're over a person, everything about them bothers you. Okay, Scott's zolac. If you don't want Cam as you're starting quarterback for the Patriots anymore,
just say that. If you think the Patriots should go with the rookie mac Jones, just say, don't be like the guy who wants to break up with his girl, and instead of being a man and just telling her, hey, I'm not into you anymore, he just starts complaining about every little thing, including but not limited to, how she choose her food. Now, anything perceived as racist nowadays, you'll probably get an apology for. And that's exactly what Scott
Zolak did. He said, referencing rap music could have come off as being racially insensitive, so he apologized. Okay, listen and the words of George Carlin, let's not have a double standard. One standard will do just fine. Sadly that will never be the case. Please get former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak the biggest he had. All right, thank you for that, Donkey to day. Well, you guys want to go next back to bed to sleep. No, can't do that, man, But let's open up the phone lines.
Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. Now, Charlemagne, your guys, album Kanye West was trending all weekend long, so let's not all weekend. Came out on Sunday. Well, Sunday was trending yesterday Sunday, So let's open up the phone lines. What are your thoughts? Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. Uh, you heard Kanye's album? What do you think? I went? Forty eight minutes long? Ye? What you think it's gonna do better? Kanye or Drake,
Drake Viola. I think Drake doesn't mean that's because of it, that's because of the era that we in though. I mean, you know, Drakes ran things. Drake has ran things for the past ten years. If he talks like that, definitely not album. So he runs the radio, he runs the scream, and he got the big machine behind him, like yeah, and he's built up a lot of cultural cachet in the music space. Yeah. I think Drake is gonna sell more. Yeah, I think Drake hands then we know that. I think so.
But all right, we'll talk about it when we come back with talking Kanye West. You heard the album, what are you thought? Let's talk about it? Phone lines to a wide open It's the breakfast Club. Good morning, phone call in right now. Call me to the breakfast Club. Topic break it down. Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one the Breakfast Club. It's topic time called eight hundred five eight five one oh five. Want to join it to the discussion with the Breakfast Club, talk
about it morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Now. If you just joined us, we're talking about Kanye West. He released the don the album, and we're taking your thoughts on it. I haven't heard the album. Um, I just don't like the way he's treating people. Uh, talking about the album right now, having energy. But this is the reason I haven't listened to the album. And I don't necessarily want to listen to the album. I just say,
I just don't like the way he treats people. And I think he's a clown clown, like circus clown with the stupid jacket and big shoes clown. But anyway, what did you guys think about the album? You got her? So there are certain songs that I really heard, um, like off the Grid. I like that song. I like Praise God, and you know, obviously with a lot of Kanye stuff, there's a lot of gospel religious undertones, so
I always can appreciate that. Of course, y'all know my favorite song on here if you had to guess what it is, Jesus Lord with the Locks Electronica. I love that. I went too, That's my favorite record on there. So yeah, I mean a point first, listen it was it was, it was, it was lackluster for me. You know, A point first, listen. Um, But it's an hour and forty eight minutes long, So like Kanye West, it can be very exhausting, all right, Um, I like to join with
West Side and Kanye. I like Jesus Lord with the locks in Jail Electronica. I think, I think if he just scaled the project down to like twelve thirteen records, be a great album. But but twenty eight songs with all the part two hour and forty eight minutes, it just feels it's it's it's too long, and it drags to me, and the music sounds kind of dated. Man, you know, by the way, I love that he put I love that he pushed and see it on the album.
I didn't participate. She's on Pure Souls and Roddy Rich who wrote Hard Now that's a dope broker? Who wrote Kanye's album this time? Do we know a lot of about committed a lot of people. I'm sure Consequence, I'm sure Jail Electronica, Boom might have Boom might have wrote a bar too. I don't know. All right, Hello, who's this yo? This is black Black? What's up? Bro? What's going on? It's the Breakfast Club? Last time we checked it was black talking Kanye's out. What are your thoughts? Yo?
That album is trash. I'm sorry, like just trash. I couldn't get through the whole thing because it's just trash and is a strong word. Gee, I'll say lackluster. Nah trash that you got God out right? Now? How could I couldn't get through it? I switched it off and put into a phenomenal yehenomenal. Okay, it's like it's craziest, it's trusch. I'm gonna understand the colt bhkore your Weston, Thank you Envy for calling him a clown because he's
such a clown clown. Thank you? Hello, who's that portion? Hey, Porsha, good morning, Good morning. Did you have Kanye's album? No? I refuse to listen to it because I just feel like I have not forgotten forgotten the things that he's done in the last six years. People so easily forget, you know, this man, his comments on slavery, his support of Donald Trump. He just basically through black people and people of color under the bus last six years, and
y'all just act like it never happened. It's very frustrating. So I'm happy to hear you the day and Yah, who surprised? And I heard you say saying, you know all the stuff, you were standing talking tough about Kanye. He was talking tough. He's a clown. He was giving it to him. But I agree with you one like, you're right, Kanye is a clown and he showed us in display nothing but clown behavior the last six years, and we just ignore it like it never happened, you
know what I mean? I don't feel like he could get a pass. And I definitely feel like I feel like he dropped that album and he knew that he was gonna drop that album. And I think it was because he got scared about Drake's album. I think so too. I think he was scared. I think he was scared of the lights geting assassin. I think he was scared of Drake too. I agree he should have been. So let's let's send Kanye. Let's send Kanye healing energy. Everybody,
Let's send them healing energy. And we're just discussing music here, okay, not his his personal antics, all right? Eight five five one oh five one Talking to new Kanye Done album. What are your thoughts? As the Breakfast Club? Good morning call me your opinions to the Breakfast Club five five one, one morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlemagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now if you just joined us, we're talking about Kanye West. Have you heard his album?
He said, she likes a couple of songs. That favorite is the one with the locks and Jay Electronic. Charlemagne said, uh, yeah, I like that song. I love that song, Jesus Low to Locks and Jail Electronic. I like the record with west Side and Conway too. But you know, for me, the album is very lack luster. You know, hour and forty eight minutes. There's a there's a good album somewhere in that hour and forty eight minutes, but the overall hour in forty eight minutes is pretty lack luster for me.
It's except for anybody to have an almost two hour long album and feel like it was amazing. That's a lot and and like like I said, Kanye's flowing sound, it just kind of it sounds kind of dated. Okay, hello was dated? Actually? Yea hey Paul, good morning. Yeah, I'm I'm not really trusted to listen to it. There was so many dates going back and forth. I mean, I get around to listening to it, I don't want to listen to it. But it's no big deal one so you don't even listen to it, and there ain't
nothing to be He wasn't trustable. He wanted to make it perfect and put it out. I'm gonna take my time listening to it. Are you so mad about him? Why are you? Why are you? I don't do you, No, I'm not mad. I just don't like the way he treats people. When you treat people behind let's tell the truth. It's behind the scenes stuff going on that we know about that we can't speak, you know, publicly about because it's not our story to tell. But yes, but I'm
sure all soon. But you don't speak you don't. You don't talk to people with disrespect and speak people with disrespect and then expect people to support you. I just think it's this clown and I just think people will say he's having problems, he's having an episode, but there's so many people around him that should be, you know, making sure he's doing the right thing, and they're not. I just think that whole team and what they're doing
is clown work. And I would hope that if if I did that, or Charlemagne did that, or you did that, or anybody did that, that they're for real friends and real family would check him and not allow him to do that. And I just think it's clown work and I can't support always. Remember, I got a black wife, okay, so ain't nobody gonna check me harder than her? I wasna I was gonna say that too. Everybody gonna check me and my wife. My wife first, my beautiful black wife. Okay, borrow.
Somebody said on Sweat It, Kanye must not have sent his car spitting his car show. Is that what it is? He ain't sitting the Tesla. Ain't sitting the Tesla, clown call. I definitely wouldn't want the clown car and the car show I got. I have real friends that support me, I don't. I definitely don't want that clown car, the show. Hello, who's this? What's up? Guys? This Joe from the Bronx.
Baby Joe, good morning, What are your thoughts? Honestly I used to be a big fan, but uh, you know, I think the album was just kind of lame, to be honest, the production was. It just seemed like a little bit old and just washed up. Wasn't really looking forward to anything there. But feature just me the production sound dated like it does. It sounds very like ten twelve years ago. Yeah, sound like he was trying to go back to that that twisted fantasy vibe with the Jesus.
But yeah, the gospel music don't really do it for me. All right, thank you man. Now listen, I think Envy might be swaying the jewelry here. They got to be that You're not gonna sit here and tell me all of these people think that this album media, I would saying a whole different. I'm just going to the calls. Hello, who's this? Everybody the money? Um, I'm just calling because DJ Envy I like, adore you guys, but you're born
a little bit hard. You know. He lost his mom and if you think about the state of the world and where we are today and what we're going through, like we need the topic of this album, you know, is his mom. So like how you're going hard at him, like that's a lot for He's who the deal is.
And you know, I actually was able to relate to this album, and I'm not feeling Kanye for all the nonsense that he did because I just lost my mom in November on my son's birthday, and so I can't and I'm trying to suppress it, and so that I'm listening to some of those things. Hello, that's what I'm sorry. I'm sorry to hear that. Go ahead, and listening to
some of those songs made me like bring my stuff up. Like, no matter how you try to suppress something, you just need to find something to put you in tune with it, and it'll just bring it to the surface. And that's happening because a lot of people have lost a lot of people and we kind of need to deal with it because if not, things are not going to get better. In attacking him and calling him a crown, that's a
lot like that hurt. Maybe that's why we have to see them healing energy, healing energy, but almost like that, like we don't have to deal about our brothers like that. No, even though even though he lost his mom and he's going through a lot, you still treat people with respecting the proper way. And if you don't, I feel as a clown. And if if you don't have to agree, but so sorry, well we're sending you We're sending you some love. And but I feel what she's saying because
he kind of hasn't been the same since then. And I'm sure it's very emotional for him putting out this Dawned the album with his mother's voice on it and everything that's like paying homage to her. So I can stand where she's coming from and the pain that she's going through and made her relate to the pain that I'm sure he's going through. Still, I'm sending the brother Kanye. It was healing energy. But I'm just simply talking about the music. I'm simply talking about the album. The album
to me is lackluster and it's it's too long. An I win forty eight minutes is nuts. You know, you know what Kanye got? Really? Have you seen, like remember those big decorative cakes, You know those cakes that are made to look like things, like they can be a book or person, Like you opened your coffee shop this weekend. Somebody would make like a cake that looks like the building. Yes, so the cake looks so the cake looks amazing, a stack of money. Yeah, so the cake looks amazing. But
it's just it's just okay when you eat it. That's what this album is. You think there's too many appearances, Not really, because Kanye is a producer that the appearances didn't bother me. It's just the music just really sounded dated to me. Like I'm not like the production just sided the dated and it's just a very very very long long project dated as in like old clown music. Oh God, I'm just sending to Kanye. I hope whatever Kanye is dealing with, I hope one day he gets
the healing that we all deserve. That's what I hope, all right for Kanye was all right, but let's celebrate some black women and we'll discuss some excellence when we come back. All right, we'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good Morning, The Breakfast Club Morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, angela Ye, Charlemagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Good Morning. Now. You know what I've seen over the weekend when I was on the flight,
I've seen Spiral. Okay, I watch that already. It was fine. It has some little funny comunic moments. So I watched. Yeah, it wasn't it wasn't too scary, but I thought it was pretty pretty dope shot It was gory, but that's how this saw movies are. They're a little gory, and you'd be like, no, don't go in there. No, it was. It was entertaining. Enjoyed it all right. But let's get to the rumors. Let's talk candy Man. This is the
rumor Report with Angela. Listen. One thing I cannot wait to do when I get back home and I have a moment is to go to the movies and see candy Man. Now, Candy Man has topped the box office and made twenty two point three million in the opening weekend, and the film is directed by Nia Jakasta. It's the first directed by a black woman to debut at number one in the US. And Candy Man, I cannot wait
to go see that. Yeah, I saw it. Will mean this weekend and say, candy Man didn't bother you unless you Candy Man didn't bother you if you kept his name out your mouth? Well, listen, did you? You guys don't really watch our movies, But y'all saw a candy Man of course, right, No, I don't remember seeing y'all have got to watch candy Man. And it was in her kiny green projects And if you look in the mirror and say, candy Man five times, pops up. Now,
I'm good. Why would you do that? I know the story and that's exactly why I'm watching all right now. Her is going to be starring and joining the cast of the Color Purple movie musical. I love that. So that's gonna be really, really dope. She's going to play the character of Squeak, a waitress turned to spiring singer, who was played by raid On Chong in the original nineteen eighty five movie. So some more excellence by black women.
The musical will be produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg. So that's exciting. It's gonna premiere December twentieth, twenty twenty three. Talk about doing things in advance, right, all right? And Jay Z celebrated the forty forty Club anniversary and a lot of people showed up, all right. Some of the people that I saw that were in attendance, Meg the Stallions with Beats, Meek mel Remy malo Ouzi, Van Jones, Push Your Teeth, Victor Cruz, Michael Rubin, Mayno, and of
course Beyonce was there. Did I miss anybody that y'all saw? I saw Angela Rye there, I saw Tiffany Cross there, I saw I've seen Clauk Kent DJ, I've seen Ouzy partisan far team, look like who good Time party was there yet? And it was for real? Yeah, I was like, everybody's out. I feel like we don't really see jay Z at parties like that. Now Jay shared the best, so yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. You don't really
even see him anywhere. So it was the eighteenth anniversary and h jay Z and Beyonce also talked about why they're such great collaborators. He said his wife is super detail oriented, obviously as you can see from her work. He said she's incredibly hard workers, super talented, very inspiring and so as you can see, the two of them are going to continue to work together. That's nice when you're married, but you can also work together and make that money together and do things like keep the money
in the family. Yep. Yeah, because people really slept on the damn Everything Is Love album. I really I'll be trying to put my finger on why that album wasn't bigger, because it was a phenomenal project, but for some reason, people slept onto Everything Is Love album. In a real way. All right. Now, Push your t says that his new album is coming soon, so get ready for that. He said that actually on an interview on the Blue Carpet at the forty forty Club. He said, new album coming soon.
Check for Donda and I can't wait to hear. I'm gonna hear push this out right. He said he hasn't titled of that. It's probably gonna be twelve songs. He said, I usually don't do a lot of extras. I feel like I have some extras right now, but I'm gonna keep twelve. And then he said he's gonna go sit in with Kanye for a little bit, but other than that, it's just those twelve all right. And Boosey over the weekend still had his Boosey Bash, even though Hurricane Ida
was hitting Louisiana. He did still have everything go down in Baton Rouge and it looks like they tore it down. Now. The baby was there, A little baby was there, even though there were some hurricane warnings at the time, and the festival did move forward. So I know that was scary for people who had all kinds of events about to happen that they had to cancel. It was access supposed to be the Bruna Brothers hair show in New Orleans,
but they had already canceled it because of COVID. So again we are keeping our eye on everything that's happening in Louisiana and sending our prayers to everybody who's been affected. We told you more than a million people are without power, and we'll keep you updated on those numbers. But that was Boosey over the weekend. Boosey Bastill went down. All right, Well I'm Angela Yee and that is your rumor reports. All right, thank you, miss Ye, and shout to Bergen
Catholic High School. My son plays for the varsity team. They had their first game and they won. I think they blew out the Ohio team. I think like forty two to seven. So this was I mean, Logan played varsity off and on last year as a sophomore, but this year he's started as a junior. And he scored his first touchdown to a bomb for little LOGI, dropping the clues bombs for little LOGI, damn it out, slamming his punkast daddy and no time. I think everybody who
who came out over the weekend for Angela. You did. I thought it was gonna be raining all day, but fortunately drizzle, just a little bit of drizzle, not much at all for like five minutes. And you know what, we had Chick fil A sponsor at two chick fil A's, but one of the Chick fil a their black owned Chick fil as. One of them is right across from the Barclays in Brooklyn. That's so dope, so dope. Yeah, I didn't even know there was a black man that
owned that, so shout out to him. All right. I just want to tell a little LOGI Envy's son logan that whoever can slam who in the house is the man of the house. So go take your throne, King, shut take your throne, young king. Shout right, I put your daddy on his back. I'm gonna jump them, make him call for the dog, all right, jump put your daddy on his black and make him call for the dog. Okay, I'm a jump them, all right. Well, the People's Choice

Everybody that was out there just sponsoring. And Alison Hyans closed out the show and she was also on the Breakfast Club this morning, but she was so amazing. Chanel Muir who else came through? It was some surprise guests that showed up that weren't They weren't even on the they weren't even on the itinerary,
so that was really dope. But it was a lot of Soca artists, a lot of reggae artists, dance artists. My girl Naomi Cowan who always shows up, Hood celebrity, who has done it every single year. This is a third year and she always shows up and she kills it every single time. So much left hood celebrity who came through. Also Romaine Burgo, he came from Jamaica, So I appreciate him so much, and the ladies were going crazy. They love Romaine Virgo. Who else performed? It was just
a lot. Man. I don't want to forget anybody, but I just want to think all of the artists who came out. We got some fun videos that will be posting for anybody who couldn't make it. Noah Poa, of course, I don't know if you saw the video, but there was somebody's grandmother that got up there. I've seen that man. That poor lady. Man, y'all put on that sta. Yeah, she had that hold on. She had the time in her life. Let's be clear. She was tuerking and y'all had to pick up off the off her knees, that
poor lady. How old was that? That woman? Noah Poa had her going insane and she has so much fun. They did have to help her up, but she managed to get low all on her own. Adrian Marsal, he was, yeah, he got a little freaky with one of the women in the audience. So y'all check on that old there's somebody's grandma to make sure she was okay. This Monday. You know, it's crazy. I was standing at the entrance when she was coming in with her walker, and so I was like, okay, this is nice. You know, it's
a come of the event. This kids, people of all ages. Everybody's welcome. Everything's free, free food, free everything.
