This week is The Breakfast Club thirty Morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy. We

are the Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us with talking something that went dan with Blair Underwood were taken it from there for people are just joining us what happened with Blair Underwood, Well, he's engaged to congratulations to him, but he's engaged to his friend of forty one years. He posted it and he said, none of us ever know where God will guide our path. She's had my back since before I even became an actor.

When a forty one year of friendship slaps you in the back of the head and blossoms into romance, you stand up, pay attention and step forward in gratitude. And so now people are commenting because he did just get divorced last year and he was with his wife for twenty seven years, but he's been friends with his now fiance for forty one years. So we're asking eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. Have you ever dated, married,

or got with your platonic best friend. Let's start with you. Ye, I haven't. There's been people that I ended up dating that because I feel like you should be friends first, but not my best friend. You know, my best friend, who's a guy. I've been friends with him since tenth grade and we've never asked. A matter of fact, he dated my other best friends, so we were like a

little click and so the two of them dated. But he was really good friends with me, and you know she was my friend too, so and he still lives right near me now. We're still friends to this day. Yeah, that's a tough question for me because I've been with years since I was sixteen and fifteen, so it doesn't But I will say this, that's why in our marriage, if she has a friend, we all friends. And I have a friend, we all friends. Yeah, they ain't just

your friend or this that's just my friend. We're all friends. And this mother and I also believe that you have to have full transparency, and there's even though that's you're a friend. There are certain rules like I wouldn't you know, my boy he's married now, and out of respect, like unless it was an emergency, I don't call him late at night. I think like after around like nine thirty. You know, I wouldn't call him just to chat it up.

And anytime we do anything, like if we go out to eat, you know, it's like she can join us or not. But she totally is fine with it because she knows I'm not inappropriate. And yeah, I just think it's important for the other person to feel comfortable. Charlemagne. If my wife counts, yeah, I mean, you know, just like you know you and your wife. We were young, but we were just friends for a long time. So if she counts, yes, I dated her, married her, had

four kids with her. All of that. She's definitely my best friend to this day. And yes, all my female friends, because I have majority female friends, those are her friends too. Because you know, anybody, especially somebody of the opposite sex that I come back in my life. I've absolutely introduced him to my wife. Correct, we all friends. Let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this Hey, Misha, have you ever got with your platonic best friends I have.

We were friends before the relationship, so we were great friends during the relationship, and then after the relationship it was weird for a little while, but we went back to the best rings. So I mean, I think it's possible to be with a platonic best dring. Okay, what about if you're dating somebody, do they mind you having friends,

you know, like other guy friends that you're really close with. Um, I guess it depends on who you're dating, because I mean, some friends are cool with it as long as they know, like, oh, this is your friend. But I did a female and she's kind of uptight about me having such close female friends because she thinks different. Does she have a reason to think that? Um, yes, because that I was with

that thankful best friend that I was with. We're still very close friends, but we were together for a while, so she's just like, I don't understand how y'all went back to friends, And I mean, man, my best friend get it, but other people don't get it. Well, that is a tough spot to be in. It is very much so all right, thank you mama. Hello, who's this the club with no breakfast? Who's going on? What's up?

Brothers having in ain't nothing? Hey man, listen, I'm actually glad that I called with this topic because this one is an easy one, okay, And my personal opinion, a lot of people will avoid a lot of headache and life if they choose to be with people who they're best friends with. I don't understand why people will rather take a gamble on a stranger than take a gamble on somebody who knows you, in most cases better than you know yourself, but just as well as you know yourself. Well.

I think I immediate a I was gonna say, I daily, yeah, you would date your best friend, but sometimes you might, you know, be friends with somebody who's in another situation, in another relationship you might not have a sexual attraction to them. I mean here all of those points are are given, but at the same and token the question was, do you think which you went to a relationship with your best friend and platonic A platonic friend, A platonic

relationships A platonic friend. Okay, I really feel like in most cases people don't even consider a platonic friend for

the reasons you just named. But I also feel like that's tendering them for possibly being happy, because I mean, in most cases, your friends know you better than someone you just meet on on the street and take the gamble on, and that a relationship with me, I would think that the person that you're entering a lifelong relationship with, like marriage or anything else, I would have hoped that you and that person are best friends. I would hope. Yeah, you said strange, I mean yeah, they would be a

best friend with by the time you get married. Hope. I would hope. Because sometimes you can be friends with somebody so long that you don't look at them in a sexual way too, like you might just but in a relationship too. You can also be with somebody for so long that you just content with the way things are. It's not about love feeling fresh anymore. It's not about the relationship being this to that. It's just okay, I'm with them and they with me. You know, I'm to

show you both all three. If you know people who are sucking relationships, they've been up for way too damn long. I don't mean they're happy, they're just sucking it. You know someone that I want rather to take a gamble on a platonic friend than a situation like that. Now I'm with you, okay, all right, thank you Rob. Eight hundred five eight five one on five one. We're asking have you ever dated a platonic best friend? Now? This

story comes from Blair Underwood. What had happened? He ended up getting engaged to his best friend of forty one years and people are talking about the fact that, you know, he just got divorced last year. He was married for twenty seven years, so they're like, oh, so was this all along something that you know? He said it slapped him in the face. But everybody's like, hm, was there some type of overlap? All right? Eight hundred five eighty five one on five one. Would you ever date or

get with your platonic best friend? Let's talk about it? Have you? The free iHeartRadio app has over two hundred and fifty thousand podcasts to explore. Yes, this is the Breakfast Club thirty part of Sunday Night podcast on iHeartRadio. Warning, everybody is DJ Envy Angela Yee, Charlemagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now if you just joined us with talking about dating your platonic best friend? And the story comes from Blair Underwood. Yes, he is engaged to

his best friend of forty one years. It slapped him in the face, he said, slapped you in the face. Now, he said, she has you have data Ji platonic best friend before? Right, No, not my best friend, I said, I haven't, but I have like gone on, you know, I have dated people that I was just friends with, but they weren't best friends. I think that for me, it's always been something where and I know a lot

of women felt like this. You could meet somebody and know if you're attracted to them or if there's any type of potential. And some people you meet and you know there is none, like there's just no chemistry, but they're super cool and so people like that. No, but it's somebody that I've just been like slightly cool with. I've dated those people, but not my best friend. All right, Well, let's go to the phone lawn. Hello, Who's this from

Pittsburgh Jermaine for Pittsburgh. We're asking have you ever daty J? Platonic best friend? Brother? I'm married to my platonic best but and it was the best decision I've ever made. How long are y'all platonic? For two years we were voting talk to relationships. Uh, I was good friends with the guy that she was, but you know what I mean. But you know, it's weird how life work out. That's how we got to know each other, and we just decided to give it a shot out to a while.

And I had never looked back either, as we've been showed happy every since. It's one of those things to make it feel like should have done it sooner. But if we didn't go through what we had to go through, we wouldn't do what we order do. Now. You wasn't that friend that she would come vin to about your friend. I stayed out. I stayed out of it. I was wanted my own talking to relationship like that was a horrible nightmare. Okay, I wasn't that guy. I'm never I've

never been that guy, never will be that guy. Just making sure you know, all right? Thank you? Probably Hello, who's this memorial? Ain't good morning, brother? I'm feeling good brother. We're talking about dating your platonic best friend. Yeah. I heard the topic this more than man, and I want to start off by sing, first off, I am the dimple bad king, not always spend the blocker in. Oh

my god, just lift it was good to me. But I feel like it's easier to, you know, maybe go back and date somebody you have dealings with, somebody that I knew prior to, you know, my prior success or, you know, just where I'm at a life right now. I feel like it's just easier to because I kind of know what to stay from somebody I kind of already know, versus meeting somebody I don't know, and you know,

taking a chance and it's going left. Okay, So you've definitely hooked up with platonic friends, definitely, and you prefer that, I prefer it. What about her having platonic friends? You okay with that? In this world all go south at they ain't no platonic friend because I just told you what, I'm capable of one like my female to have a pluton a male friend. All right, Well there you go. So you can't even do it because you can't even

have a platonic friend period. Hello, who's this? This is tangar ray flag Tang Tang My goodness, I were asking. We're talking platonic friendship. So I have you ever dad of your platonic best friend? Brother? Yeah? Well I'm a little bit older man, So I got a lot of experience. So yeah, once a plumberoy, And let me tell you something. If I didn't need get if I couldn't get out of my own way in my head, I think it would have been okay, all right, you can't your friend.

Excuse me, You couldn't get over the fact that this is your friend, Yeah, because you know they're in that friends zone when they're cool like that. You don't see them in that life, right. But but you know, sometimes situations when they know you, it could be comfortable, you know what I mean. But sometimes you can't get over appearances like, uh, the fact that y'all used to go watch football games each other. Oh, this kind of you can still go that it all stops, Yeah, it changes.

Come on, y'all, y'all be making these things weird, man, you know what I'm saying. Sometimes you know that you and the person supposed to be together. Sometimes you know, you and a person the soul mates, and yes, it should start as y'all being the best of friends. And then you make it weird because now you don't want to do the same thing that you've been doing with your friend. That makes no sense to me. Yeah, but when your friends do all them things to you, you know,

like you anyway? When the things? How old are you bro' fifty four? Hey, can't I say this real quick? Man? I'm a little bit older, buzz I'm older than all y'all. But what y'all doing on the radio. I would be so proud if either want of y'all with my child. That was nice, But thank you. I appreciate that you can be our platonic father. Oh cool, cool. I heard about the things you like and I like the same thing.

So what okay? Well, thanks dad? Thanks? Actually he actually couldn't go right, father though, I mean he's only he's only fifty four. Guys, I don't yeah, he said it. I know right. We're all pretty long in the tooth. Guys, Hey, Dad, can you send us some money? You hung up on him? Somebody? You guys say how to my dad? Tank a ray? Thank you? What's the mo the story? If there is one?

You know the story? I've always heard this quote. It's so hard to pretend to be friends with somebody special when every time you look at that person, all you see is everything that you know you want a half So I guess that's the more of the story. It's very hard to pretend to be friends with somebody special when every time you look at that person, all you see is everything you want to have. So how do you look at me? Best friends? I don't look at

you in anyway. Sorry, So there's there's a chance. There's a chance, there's a shot. See he didn't say no. All right? We got rumors all the way, Ye handle all that later one get here everywhere that's coming out of your mouth and you think, just because it's to me, that it don't count. But this is high level flirting and cheating that you're doing. Bros. The way, is this considered cheating? What y'all doing? I think it's very disrespectful to his wife? So is it cheating? Though? That's just

saying to me all the time? Never? I Heeart Radio for podcast Discovery. This is the Breakfast Club thirty. Your chance to hear the biggest trending podcast each week from the free i Heeart Radio app Wanning. Everybody is ch Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne and the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now if you just joining us, we're talking about Glorrilla.

What happened were glow really easy. She was a Sunline and she was talking about meeting guys in the club and not being able to take them seriously because he ain't gonna treat you right as you got to say this. If you trust an that you met at the club, use a hot ass mee and the god dagn food and you don't got no mother home trying to because why you sitting up and following a little? Did you know you met at a place where he looked at for holis it? Did you look at the house? He

can't treat you like a mom? Why you send your dumb mass while you're following a little they walk. I don't know about that. I think a lot of guys go to the club to meet a woman, to hopefully meet them for what. I'm sure there's many different reasons. They go to the club because they want to smash. There's been a million, it's been a million records made about it over the years, about going to the club to find somebody for the night. Okay, men and women

do it. It is what it is. I'm sure that there's some men that look for looking for a woman, somebody to cut a with and spend some time with hugging and kiss I think you could. I think you could meet somebody anywhere. You just never know because circumstances of why someone and is a club might be different. It could be and the van, It could be somebody's birthday, it could be a bachelor party, it could be any reason that somebody's in the club. It could be somebody

that's normally not in the club. Now someone who's in the club all the time. That's different. But you don't know who, you know, what the reason is that someone might even be there. So that's what I would tell Glrilla. I would tell Gorilla, like, you know, you know, it doesn't matter where you meet somebody. You know, that's this reality the situation, because you can't help who you end up growing in love with. Because some people might say it's not good to meet people on social media, but

it happens all the time. It's just but I'm gonna believe the young girl because she's in the club way more than me, because I don't be in the club. All right, I'm forty four years old. What the hell is my old after one in the club at forty four years old, So Gorilla says, ain't nothing but guys in the club looking for holes. I'm gonna listening to Glorilla. Okay, let's go to the full line. Hello, who's this all right? Serene? Hey, good morning? How old are you? First of all, ma'am,

I am forty four. You are not qualified to have this conversation. Say that. I knew you was gonna say that, but it's still the same subject. Let's talk about it. I'm not my husband. I met managing twenty years ago at the disco. At a disco club. No, that effect was playing, So what's not a disco okay at that time. Okay, we met twenty years ago. We've been married almost sixteen years in the twenty third. I didn't think at the time that I should be meeting a guy in the club,

but he showed me different. So let memagine a question time. Did you let did you? Did you let him hit on the first night? Or did you you know? Absolutely not, I'm okay have a girl okay, second night? Probably at the time, I actually no, no, for real, show me. I gave him a hard time as a matter of fact, because I didn't think that meeting a guy in the club was appropriate for me. True, true, At that time, I was like, no, I'm not gonna give him that satisfaction. So,

but that's probably why we've been together for so long. Well, congratulations. Do you remember the first song y'all dance two twenty years ago? Yes? I do. Excuse me from dazing. Excuse me, miss Pharrell, excuse me. Okay, old school, we out here. We are here, Auntie, we out here, baby forty four and up? What's happening? Hello? Who's this? Hi? This is Chris. How old are you I am? I'm actually forty one? Gee? What is up with all these old people calling about

this club topic? Let's hear it? What's up? Holy season? Because I don't believe in what they're paying? Okay, honestly. So I met my husband now m sixteen years ago, and I used to work in the clubs at NYC, actually at Mars twenty one twelve, to the spot you're going to little station before you get inside, exactly you. So with that, I met him and his friends, took

two shoots of them. We wound up later on meeting out a diner you know how you do, after the club, and three days later remember telling my friends like, this is a man, I'm a view with and they God, I was crazy, but now I look at us sixteen years later. Congratulations did you hit that night? No? Absolutely not, not the first night. It was not the first night.

It was some mons say. Okay, I listen, by the way, I respect all of these conversations, but we have to remember, as old head that the club scene is totally different now than when we were coming up. Hello, who's this Tiana? Tatiana? Good morning? Good, good morning man? Now do you agree with uh Gloilla? I completely do. Ain't nobody going in the club trying to find love? Now, babe? How old are you, Tadiana? I am thirty four? Okay, range do you go to the club? I do not. I stopped

going to the club in my twenty smart woman. Okay, so we don't know what, but did you ever meet somebody in the club? I have met somebody in the club and they all looking for home. Hold on, Taia, did you let did you ever let somebody hit? No? Not from the club. I don't know where you've been, Okay, just asking, good question. Nobody's been that is true. You know what I'm saying, Like somebody could just be in

the club. Actually, I dated somebody for five years. I met him in the club and it was the nineties. It is a differenties. It was um and the next day I remember he called me the next day and we was on the phone for hours and then we went I think we went out on a date every single night for like two weeks in a row, every single day we met in the club. I just think it was I'm just gonna take Lorilla world for it. Lorilla in the streets, Coola Gorilla, like twenty twenty two.

She know better than we do. Guys looking for hoses everywhere, though not just in the club, the church and be like, ain't nobody ain't nobody doing that? Yeah, nobody's doing Ain't nobody going to church? And I know the holes? Okay?

Five five one five one, Willison, you gotta say this, if you trust then that you met at the club, you use a hot ass miss and the god damn food and you don't got no motherfucker home trying to because why did you sit up he following the love that you know you met at a place where he looking for hosi did you look at for house? He canna treat you like a mom and hole beach? Why you send your dumb mass while you're following the love they walk? What's your thoughts? It's the Breakfast Club. Good

morning I Heart Radio for podcast Discovery. This is the Breakfast Club thirty Yeah we go your chance to hear the biggest trending podcast each week from the free I Heart Radio app Morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlemagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now if you just joined us, we're talking about globe Rilla. She

said this yesterday on her Instagram, her social media. You gotta say this if you trust then that you met at the club, you use a hot ass miss and the god damn food and you don't got no motherfu home trying to because why did you sitting up he following a little? Did you know you met at the place where he looking for Hosie? Did you look at for hose? He canna treat you like a mole? Why you send your dumb mass while you're following a little they walk? So we're asking eight hundred five eight five

one on five one? Is it true guys only looking for holes in the clubs? Are they only trying to get to the yams? Sweet sweet yams. Okay, all right, well let's go to the full lines. Hello, who's this y'all? This black black? What's going on? Bro? Yo? So the gloilla chick. I think she's a little bit slow, you know, Oh my god. Club is a social place. How can you not meet somebody as a social place? Chance? You can?

I'm married my wife and I met her in the club fourteen years ago. Okay when she was boughtender. What why do you say that like that? Nah? No, bought nine. She wasn't about you. Just in the club. Anything is possible, you know, it's a social place. But could I could

I shout out my wife's business? Yes? Yeah, so yeah, it's still in love, happily married my wife. Biness Felicia Michelle here shopper products Felicia Michelle here dot com. So when you meet her and when you meter how long ago? Oh man, this would have been I was at the time. I was, what twenty twenty four? I just want you know, we heard one recent story yet, So Gla, what's the difference in the club back then and the club now? I don't know what's the difference, Like, what what is the difference?

I mean, that's like saying, what's the different tween life? Now? I'm gonna tell you that. I'm gonna tell you the difference you got. You have the red life tworking on the headlights differently. That's not bad. But back then, back then, it used to be scared of it. Now though lifted it, handle it like a real you know what I'm saying. Now, at least you was handling it. You went went to work. Now you want to cash with the sea shop. You're

living the project. Now that's not true. Now, back back then, back then, all these when it was looking for cash too. Were you talking about gangster bo gangs? The bull created way the dollars at bro? Are you talking about? Oh yeah, I mean yeah, but you know if I'm from hall of them, so yeah, gainst the bull? Really, you know what are you talking about? Like Little Kim and Foxy Brown wasn't out here doing the same thing. What's what song was that that you just said? Stud again with

What up? Cash? What's going on? Morning, y'all? Morning?

Angela league Angela, Angela leave, Angela leave Angela leave. No real. But honestly, I've never met anyone. I know a lot of people, and I've never met anyone that goes to a club looking for wife. I know the intention, the intention is always to smash, but it's never four wife. This is not too can play that game? You never saw that? Gorilla probably too young for that one. I love too, can play that game? Great movie? We older though, yes we are proudly older. All right, what's the mother
