Well, actually before we get to that, because I thought that they were important, but they're not. But I would like to say what today's open Winfrey's born your mama's birthday? Dropping a clues bombs for over win Free. You know my last name is Pinkey Smith Winfree knows Carter. Today is also Harriet Tubman's born day.
That's right, okay, dropping the clues bombs for Harriet Tubman. Yes, but there is also also a National Freethinker's Day. Okay, So all your group thinkers. You have to sit this one out. But most importantly, today is Kurt Mudgeons Day, dropping the clues bomb fall of Kurt Mudgeons out there. I see you got some flowers. That's nice. Listen, man, it's not for him. First of all, this has to stop. It's not for him. No, seriously, this has to stop. Okay, this this, this is the card for the flowers. This is about how many roses? Three dozen red roses, right, it says Charlemagne. These are for Taylor. If you're a real one, give them to her. Also, Taylor, if you read this, keep your head up since silly, you're a
biggest fan. First of all, Taylor is a producer of all those flowers a beautiful by the way, those are not those are not. She's wanted to produces on the Breakfast Club. She produces a couple of podcasts for us as well, and um, that's an amazing She has to stop sending gifts for herself here, the raders, no he would have spent that because she would have sent it to herself. She wouldn't have sent that to Charlotmagne. And she did the same thing last week when it was
Michael's born day. Michael is somebody else who works up here, right, it was Michael's born that she sent herself a box of flowers. Really, First of all, Taylor is way too cheap to send herself those flowers. Okay, she's not going to spend that much money. Send those are beautiful. Shout out to Taylor. This No, this has to stop. She's doing this herself. Can't y'all see nice? I want to those at least go on a date with this guy or girl. We don't know who it is she now listen,
Taylor's my niece. But why would they send me flowers to give the tailor? If I'm a real one, I'll give them the Taylor. Why would they wanted those flowers on air? The reason you send people flowers at work so that other people can see. Did he sign the name? No? She signed the name No, Taylor? How to stay cause I want to get him from my my daughter, Taylor? How much? What? Where'd you get him from? Where did they come from. I don't know. We'll call the flower
there you go righte this whoa there you go? Are you thinking? Write this down? And from your red Roses dot com? We got the number right here. We're gonna call and see who if he was flowers pro flowers. That's true, That's very true. It's out to stop man. Why why is Taylor doing this? Why is she sending them stuff up here for herself? Taller at that bottles for you? I want to give him my daughter her flower. Now, taylorf you smart yourself twelve, it's thirty six. It's thirty six,
and we can sell it? Does you can sell it? Doesn't? Those are your flowers? Come get your funky ass flowers? All right? There we go, Please get them? And before we said this show this morning, while she does her flowers, I want to shout out to Carl Webber. Do you guys know Carl Webber stipping for she's excited Skipping's call Webber know Chris Webber. But now Carl Weber is an author. He's published more than twenty five hundred books also for the people. He has his own. He has the largest
African American owned publishing company in the World. Okay, but he also has his own series on BT called The Family Business, and that was the first season. I think tonight is the finale of the first season. So we're hoping he gets a second season of the Family Business. But I hosted a book club with him yesterday. Yeah, bets on it. You never seen it, Ernie, Yes, he plays the dad and The Family Business a scripted show. Yeah, it's a scripted show. Oh, I've never seen that in
my life. It's based on his series, The Family Business. Oh. And so I just want to shout out to cart Webb because he was there and I think it's amazing that he's done what he's done, like the largest African American owned publishing company in the world. They call him the p Diddy of books. I'm all about that literary world. Shout out to him. All right, let's get And I would like to know if anybody has ever had a co workers in flowers. She didn't send those our classmates
and flowers to themselves. There were some raggedy flowers is I would have thought she sent them to herself. Maybe some really two weeks in a row. So I'm kind of jealous, though I ain't I just know, I know somebody likes her. Someone send her flowers. No way, somebody call us, listen, just call up and tell us if you ever had the classmates in herself? Flowers topic are co workers in himself. We have to start this show National Curmudgeon Day. Doctor Jess will be joining us this
morning for doctor Jesffica. So we'll kick you with her question. We'll open up the phone lines for you and all that. And also, don't forget get it off your chest. Eight hundred five eighty five, one oh five one. Now we got frontage news. What we're talking about. Yes, well, let's talk about Howard Schultz. We told you he's potentially running for president, and he got interrupted. Some people are protesting him actually running. You know, he's a former CEO of Starbucks.
All right, we'll get into that when we come back. Keeping locked us to Breakfast Club. Good morning morning. Everybody is DJ Envy Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy we are to Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. What we're talking about you, Well, let's get ready for the super Bowl. Now they're saying that there's gonna be about six billion dollars in bets that are going to
be placed for this Super Bowl. Now, the reason that number has gone up so much from last year, it's up twenty six percent from a year ago, it's because last year only Nevada had actual legalized sports betting. This year there's eight states that have that, so there's eight of them compared with just a year ago. And of course people still do their illegal betting as well. There's also gonna be male cheerleaders at the Super Bowl, so that's going to be history as well for this Super
Bowl because the Rams do have male cheerleaders. So if you guys are ready for that, then make sure it's gonna be male cheer leader. That's gonna be. That's commentitaying that's gonna be dope. Yeah, but they've been cheering all yeah. Did you know that Yeaver got at the Super Bowl. It's the first time we talked about the two met or whatever they played for the Rams or the Rams meet. It's the Super Bowl. So that's why I think for
a thumb in Super Bowl. Yes, exactly. All right. Now let's talk about Howard Schulty did announce that he's preparing to run for president as a third party to candidate he's a former Starbucks CEO, and he's also on a nationwide tour for his new book. And while he was speaking at a Barnes and Nobles event in New York, he was interrupted by protesters. You egotistical, go back to the other millionaire league know how to run the fall.
Why are you not even gonna get a man a chance? Well, they feel like, because listen to his policies, you don't know what he might he stands for. Well, they feel like I'm running as an independent. He's gonna end up splitting the vote to people who would vote for Democrats. And that's going to help the Republicans. That's the whole point of another person screamed out and interrupted healthcare as
a human right. And that's because when Schultz was on sixteen minutes, he said the country can't afford to provide free healthcare for all. So people were getting removed from Well, Kamala has was on CNN last next year. She wants free Medicaid Medicare a fall, so you know, and we're gonna have that in New York, I believe too. So that's the plan here at just in New York State. All right, Now for Houston police officers were shot while
serving warrants. They were serving a search warrant and about a dozen narcotics officers along with some patrol officers, had responded to her residence where they believed that drugs were being sold. As the narcotics officers announced themselves as they got to the front door, gunfire started. Four undercovering narcotics officers were struck by gunfire, and the fifth officer suffered a knee injury as well. So they did kill two suspects at the scene, and they did not release those
names yet. Imagine that going to do your job, serve that warrant and then people just start shooting at you right away. Have you guys seen this major iPhone FaceTime bug? Oh yeah, annoying. They can talk to you through FaceTime. Jay Electronic could do this to me about thirty times yesterday. You're on you're here, your phone start well, you don't even really hear a ring, but you look at your phone and all of a sudden, you just hear a voice.
So even if you're not, my phone was in my bag at one point and I just heard him being like Angela, don't ignore me, pick up the phone. And I didn't even touched my phone. That's whack. If y'all think that's not an invasion of prophecy, something is wrong. I'm about to go back to just the regular the flip phone. Ye, the way that people are doing it. You started, you want to know how to do it? No, No, somebody did it to me yesterday. Actually yeah it was, but they hit me to let me know that they
were going to do it. Now I had no idea, So, yeah, tell me how to did I'm curious. You start a FaceTime video call with somebody in your contacts, and while that call is dialing, you swipe up and tap add a person and add your own phone number. That's how you do it, and that starts a group FaceTime and so the person doesn't even have to answer the phone, and you can hear them and they can hear you. See.
I thought it was when when I first heard about it, I thought that they could FaceTime you and still see what you were going. I was about to say the faithful black mail community was about to triple overnight. Okay, if that was the case, my goodness, all right, that's front page news. Get it off your chests. Eight hundred five eight five one on five one. If you need to vent, hit us up right now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. Pick up the mother mother
phone and died. This is your time to get it off your chat. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club, so we better have the same energy. Hello, who's this Hey? How you doing certain numbers? James? Now you're doing sir? Get it off your chests. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. How to quick question for y'all. Before I ask my question, let me say this to y'all. I feel like racism is something that you're not born a race, and I feel like it's it's being taught.
You have to be taught to be a racist. So my question to you guys is should's black people? Should black parents? Is black parents wrong for raising their kids to be racist against other racists who are racist to us black people. I don't think you're raising your kids to be racist. I just think you're telling your kids the reality of the world and you let them make their own decisions. Correct. I don't think. I don't think
you're telling your kids to be racist at all. I think that we should be against a system of systemic suppression, and I mean oldpression and marginalization. Like we know white supremacy is really we know what it's done to us as a people. So I don't think it's anything wrong with letting your kids know the reality of that, letting them make their own decisions. Right, But at the same time, I feel like racism. I feel like, depending on how you define it, it's nothing wrong with being racist as
long as you're not hurting anybody else. Know what, I'm dying racist, I'm not racist. He's just saying. I mean, I get it. We all have our own prejudices and biases. It's kind of like for your favorite football team. I mean, if you feel like, right, I get what you would call that being racist. That's not racist, man, There's nothing wrong with that. That's having pride, that's having pride in your people. Yeah, that's not racism. That don't call that race.
To teach my kids to have pride in their own people, wrong with that. I'm team Black all day long. But I'm not telling I'm not telling them don't mess with somebody because they white, or because they're Asian, or because they's something else. I don't tell them that being pro anything don't mean you anti something else. Like I'm pro black, I don't mean I'm anti everything else. But I hate white supremacy and I hate racist and I hate biggots. Right, if you want to tell you pro white, go ahead.
Our cameraman who's a white guy, goes so I can say I'm pro white. Yeah, don't, I'm not. You're the one who's Well, that's your fault. You don't want to shame to your you know the history of your people. But that's why you're afraid to rep your set. Can't you can't you say I'm not a racist and be like, well, I don't want my daughter to come home so, you know, bring a white guy home. Yes, that might be a
little racist. That's not racist. That's a little race because at the end of the day is yes, you could be pro black and you and you could tell your kids about, you know, their heritage. But by saying I don't want them to bring somebody home because of the color of their skin is a little fat. I don't want my daughter to bring a Washington Redskins fan home, our New York Giants fan, our Philadelphia Eagles fan. I don't think you should teach your kids. I'm a jaw
Boys fan. I don't think we should teach kids hate at all. Exactly. That's got a hate, got a preference, I got a preferences. So crazy, you know, being saying that your racist is more dominant than another race without hurt nobody. I don't think that's not the role. As long as if your daughter does bring home somebody that's not black, and you still accept them because she loves them, that's fine. Now, of course you as a father can say, man,
I really want her to be with a black person. Yes, I have a prof My preference is for my daughter to be happy. But that's my main per for my daughter to be happy. Now, I ain't gonna lie, but if she's happy with a black man, that's even even more. My grandmother and my great grandmother, my great grandfather, they were racist. If if if I broke a white girl, they'd have a problem. Different era, different like they know
what it was like, different era. Now for me, I just want my son and my daughter to be happy. But thank you for calling bro get it off your chest eight hundred five eight five one o five one. If you need to vent, hit this up at any time. We got roomors on the way. Yes, and this was pretty funny. Yesterday Keith Sweat had to apologize social media. We'll tell you why. All right, we'll get into that next.
Keeping locked this to Breakfast Club. Good morning the Breakfast Club number one song at Urban Radio, Cardi B Money Card. This fight is fixed dropping the clues bomb form Bardy. Now she just makes great US show on the Cardi B. Long as you're on outside, you're good. Stop it, shout the Cardi man. She looks like she's enjoying her life. She's tor with that little baby. Chou to card. Alright, let's get to these rooms. Let's talk Black Panther. Listen.
Oh gosh, it's a rumor report, gym report, Breakfast Club. Well, Black Panther will be going back into theater theaters. It'll be at a select two hundred and fifty AMC theaters for the week of February first to the seventh. So there's no admission for that movie either, So for that one a week, if you want to go and see it, it'll be free. So make sure you check out AMC theaters to see where it will be. I guess that's cool.
I mean even though you can just sit in the privacy of your own home and pull it up on your television. I mean, they got nothing on airplanes. Yeah, I think I think I've worn out my welcome with Black Panther movie this. Yeah, that's a lot. All right. Now, let's talk about Black China. She was in Honolulu vacation with Black Pants in Black China, sharp turn. All right. Well, apparently they got into a really bad argument around five
am at their hotel there at the Ritz Carlton. She accused him of cheating, according to sources, and things got violent. According to TMZ, they said that Black China scratched Kid Boo and that's when he slammed her against the wall several times and choked her. Somebody had to call nine one one, and that's when cops and paramedics arrived on the scene. Well, let the record show kid Kidboo was a clone. So clones can malfunction sometimes, so it sounds
like he had a malfunction. Now, Kidboo posted on his social media thank you next, and then Black China posted single stop it. Kid Boo is the clone, right, He's a clone? Yaze. I saw an interview he did with Black TV and he said he's a clone. I'm convinced. If you've ever seen his interview where he broke down how he's a clone and what laboratory he came from. He even had a number in it, I was like, Wow, maybe believe him. I have no reason not to believe him,
all right. Well, according to Rob Kardashian, by the way, Black China has gone missing. Before she went to Honolulu, she was supposed to pick up their daughter Dream for her schedule time. But that's when he found out that she was nowhere around. He couldn't get a hold of her. They don't communicate with each other there. Their nannies actually handle all exchanges about the baby. The person really missing if you see them on Instagram every day, but you
know where she's at. Well, this is before he found out she was in pick up your kid if you want kid, you can't do that, all right. So, according to Rob Kardashian, he was not given any type of warning that she would not be available to care for their daughter, and he just felt like that was missing out on daughter mommy time, all right. Keith Sweat has had to apologize now. He posted a picture where NBA young boy right nothing wrong with that, except that he
wrote at twenty one Savage and Sweat. Well, a lot of people then had to let him know that that was not twenty one Savage was NBA Young Boy. Now ain't apologize for that? Well, yeah, he apologized. Why now he posted our team apologizes for the mistake made in our post, Team Sweat apologize and advertently used another artist's name and regret the inconvenience that it caused. We have made every step to correct this error immediately. Never would
I apologize for my oldness. Okay, I don't see the problem. Keeps what the fifty seven year old King R and B? So what if you don't know the different between twenty one Savage and the NBA Young Boy. I don't know the differ between a lot of these youngers either. Yes, I know some you know, some newspapers said DM mix is free yesterday and put DMCD a picture DMC that happens. It was all the way in Australia. I get it. And I actually listened to twenty one Savage so I
enjoy his music, so I know who he is. But I could mix the NBA Young Boy up with all these other You don't listen to young boys music, you would like, Oh he's dope. He would know, you know, NBA young boys, you got why you're saying, you got yre cels, you got y Fins, you got YBN wife and is the clothing linelf? So what his wife? And that's a rapper? Y is a crew? Right? Yeah, you know, forget those I refilled the apologize to my oldest damn it, we see whisha I would apologize because I mixed up
one of these young boys. Please all right, well it's you know, it's the right thing to do. He felt bad about it. I remember, and remember we were at an event and you miss stuck. I think who was there? Nick Jonas? You put you tag Joe Jonas or something like that. All look alike. I see, I don't listen to pop music. I was Jase. You tagged the wrong one, say it the wrong jone? All white people looking at least you in the I was in the I was the same. Family was a family. It was pretty funny though.
And I want to social media know they're slipping because they posted keep sweat up with all kinds of stuff like Johnny gill An, NBA young by Young Well people were telling him don't sweat it. That's what they were Angelo and NBA Young they both just go crazy. All right. Now, Juel Santana wants to delay his jail sentence, and you know why that is he wants to make sure that he goes to a filming of a Tyler Perry reunion in Georgia. It's crucial, right on top of Black History months.
Maybe dropping with a questional career, that he'd be able to participate. I love this. They divide closure for him. I love it. Are they the no? No, he just I guess. Yeah, he's supposed to appear um at the event as it pertains to love and hip hop, So maybe it's a love and hip hop filming at Tyler Perry reunion. I don't know he's up. Beyonce and jay Z were at the Tyler Perry I've seen it in the York farewell. No, I don't think that wasn't okay? All right, well, I'm angela yie and that is your
rumor reports. All right, thank you, miss you're gonna miss Medeia, miss media. It's a farewell. No more media. Oh yeah, they all kill him, Medal. They do have a deafro Media movie coming. Are you gonna miss media? I've thoroughly enjoyed a lot of my Dia films over the years. Okay, which one's your favorite? Probably My Dia goes to Jail. But you know what it is the early ones though,
like Diary of a Mad Black Eyes. Yes, it's the early ones, not necessarily the ones where it was like my Dea goes to Mars and Myda does Halloween like when she was just Mars. I didn't see that. I see Media goes to Mars. Neither did I. But listen, that does not exist. I didn't see I like the ones when she was just in the movies, when it wasn't about her. Yes, okay, yes, all right, Well I'm Angela Yee and that is your rumor report. I was gonna ask a stupid question, but I asked off. I'm
not sure. Go ahead, I'm not all right now. I you don't never seen him Dad, You know you haven't seen anything. You're confusing him a deal with Open Winfrey. What you're about to Dooda don't look nothing like Professor Clump. Yes, that's not where they got the MDIA character from a deal. Wasn't from Nutty Professor, Nutty Professor, my whole other that's not nothing can do. I'm interested here, I don't I don't just carus. I don't know. How did you connect
it to in your brain? No, you're not going to speed by this. How did you connect Nutty professor with my deal? Because of this? We shouldn't let him say it, all right, I don't know. I didn't see him, so I don't know. I was just asking Professor Clumping my dear the same. I don't know. I'm just asking Professor Clump, don't look nothing like mcdea. See what I'm saying. So you can confuse people that don't look nothing like so
I can do MD and open. Okay, right, all right, when we come back from page newugi what we're talking about, I don't know. Are we talking about myda? Let's talk about a possible cure for cancer? Okay, all right, now we're talking silly this moment. Actually media is based on Eddie Murphres's performance and Uddie Professor. I do it because see the big lady. I know it. Wait wait, hold is it Drew? You just playing with whe where you
get it from? You're right, envy. I knew it I told you I Professor Cloud, and I see him a deal like it looks like l Perry said he was inspired to after seeing you. I knew it. I could see the character from the see I knew what I'm talking about. Congratulations, the broken clock is right on twice a day, twice a day. You almost well minded scholar. And be so happy here right, Yeah, I'm so happy. Pais news the next y'all morning everybody and black youngster. No, No,
it's tj Envy Angela Ye, Charlomagne the guy. We are the breakfast club. Now, let's get in some front page news. What we're talking about, Well, let's talk about what you guys were discussing this morning. Kamala Harris, she has introduced herself as a twenty twenty presidential candidate, and she was at Drake University in Des Moines and she talked about some of her policies. Here's what she had to say. We have a problem in this country of mass incarceration.
We have a problem in this country of not having adequate response and consequence when young people who are unarmed are shot. We have a real problem in this country about disproportionate application of the law based on who is charged with a crime, what kind of bail is sept for them, what kind of sentencing they receive based on race.
That's the work that I've been doing also in the Senate of focusing on that, such as a bill that I have that would seek to reform the bail system in the United States and ultimately get rid of the cash bail system. All right, So you also talked about backing Medicare for all, getting rid of private health insurance, and supporting a Green New Deal to address climate change. She talked about cutting taxes for the middle class, saying it would be the first thing she would do if
she was elected as president. And she talked about Dacca about the Dreamers. Yeah, I mean the thing they was killing Kama Lafore was her questionable criminal justice record, and so she answered questions about that last matter. She was a private to answered that I was part of the answer just now. But I mean she was a prosecutor. I mean what I took from it is a prosecutor's gonna lock people up. And I know she's black, but sorry, when you're a prosecutor, you have to lock people up
regardless people. They're raised about that though, they're very mad that they feel like she should lock people up the battle if people deserve to be on what they got locked up for. Correct Because she's black, she's supposed to just let all black and brown people off. That's not the way the prosecutor works. You know. I don't get it. And to me, she seems like a person who was
tough on crime when she needed to be. But she also sees the flaws in the justice system, and she's implemented a lot of reentry and diversion initiatives to change them. That's what I too. Well, it's always good to do research too, so everybody out there who has questions, make sure you do your own research. Look up her back on Track reentry program which put first time offenders into
the priniceship and training programs instead of prison. Okay, all right, Now, as we get ready for the super Bowl, they're saying Americans are expected to play six billion dollars in bets on the Super Bowl, and it's also going to be the first time they've had male cheerleaders at the Super Bowl, so that's a first as well. Okay, Okay, they show bets, who y'all bet. I'm not betting on either one. I think the Patriots, Okay, I think the Patriots. I mean,
I guess I would. I would like to see the Patriots win, only because I like to see those those dynasties, because you know, we come from the Chicago Bulls era when they won six championships, so it'd be cool. But yeah, I want to see them. Now. According to reports, we could potentially have a cure for cancer in the next year. A team of is really scientists say that they plan to have that developed and it's a new treatment. They said, we believe we will offer in a year's time a
complete cure for cancer. Our cancer cure will be effected from day one, will last a duration of a few weeks, and we'll have no or minimal side effects at a much lower cost than most other treatments on the market. The treatment is called mutato mutato muta t o oh. Conspiracy. Theorists would say that means they are about to start making money off something else. They're going to introduce a new disease in the marketplace if they're cureing one. I hope no, all right, And what do you think is
the most financially distressed city in the nation. If you had to guess the most financially distressed city in the United States, according to local debt counselors and financial analysts, I thought it was Michigan at one time, but I think Michigan is growing now, so I would take well, Detroit. I'm gonna bet on somewhere in floor, but I think Detroit is doing well now. Now. This city's credit card delinquency rates and level of bad person or debt are
the highest in the nation. Credit card not a city, Oh Sam, somewhere with a scamming is hot. I don't know where. New York City really, New York City is the most financially distressed city in the nation. Most New Yorkers are a living paycheck to paycheck. And they said, if there was an emergency and you needed four hundred dollars to cover that emergency, most people ain't got it. So yeah, I mean, it's a high cost of living here right now. So they said, the average credit card
balance in Manhattan alone, it's seventy four hundred dollars. In New York City. People ain't getting stuck up. It is actually going up. It is actually going up. Since I would believe December that especi robbery is going up. I mean, I don't know if they're reported, but I've been hearing more and more and more people getting stuck up, people getting caught at the white people getting caught at the club, people getting caught walking around to their cars. So just
put about credit cards camping. People ain't doing that, thermal. Hell yeah, that like she part of it. Hell yeah, I get calls right now, I go Giffies. And second of all, the reason why I know that because I've had to put all kinds of extra protection on my own identify what they call them them Giffi's going for a na days. I don't know what that means. But number two and number three, by the way, is Atlanta in LA. Just so you know the most distressed have
all the cities that's supposed to be popping. Yeah, so all y'all be fronting on Instagram? Huh, A bunch of line. That's why it's distressed exactly. Y'all fronting is so much on Instagram that y'all really can't pay y'all bills. Atlantic's gonna be so many people front in Atlantis getting the Super Bowl. Rud have mercy take that rental car back people written cars on Wednesday just to keep them in
till Monday for Super Bowl weekend. Tomorrow, rental car places exatter rental car places in Atlanta gonna be popping popping starting tomorrow. It makes no sense to do it because trapping is gonna be crazy. But hey, that's cool. I mean a rented roles, okay, driving myself, okay, a right, taking traffick the role. So I don't want nobody to see about taking caravan. I'm good with that. All right. Well, lad's front page news. Now when we come back, come back,
doctor Jess will be joining us, Jessica Clements. She's a mental health professional. That's if you remember the show I did on VH one last year in Session Live with Doctor Jess. She was the mental health professional that was hosting the show. Okay, all right, so we'll talk to her and we'll actually take your call. So if you have some questions for doctor Jess eight hundred five eighty five one oh five one, we'll do that when we come back. Don't move. It's to Breakfast Club. Good Morning,

Have you received any backlash from other mental health professionals about are you providing advice or treatment publicly like on Instagram and stuff? Okay, no, Surprisingly, I think I was worried a little bit that people might respond with what are you doing? Or do you have you know, a supervisor? Um? But no, it's actually been really positive. I actually had an article in Forbes that came out. I saw it great, Yeah, and so from there I had a lot of really
positive even responses from that. My medical school actually like posted it and shared it multiple times. I even did like a throwback Thursday and posted the article again. Wow. So yeah, have you seen any changes in your student or i should say, your subject after you had your conversation? Any changes in Charlemagne at all? Oh my goodness, I'm serious. Do you see the man change at all? It was are you on drugs? More? Clock? Are you on this morning?
That's not nice, Charlemaine. You're right, see so you haven't seen a change. I didn't just want to assume he has mental health issues. I just put it on drugs, right, that's not There are people really out there with drugs. Don't anything like that. That is very true. While I'm sorry now that Jess people ask me questions all the time, I have one for you that I think would be appropriate for you to answer. Okay, hi ye. I've been with my girlfriend almost seven years. I've been battling depression
for about two years. Recently, I asked my girlfriend if maybe we should live apart after our lease is up so I could have time to myself. My depression has really took a toll on me lately, and I want to send time alone to battle my demons. I didn't ask to break up just to live apart. She flipped out, took some of her stuff out our home that we share, and told me she's not coming back. I thought she would have been more understanding. She treats my depression like
it's a problem instead of being my support. What should I do? Oh? So, I'm really sorry that this person is going through that. I always want to try to validate what a person's experiencing. I mean, it sounds like her partner has already kind of made a decision about moving out. Um. I wonder if they would be interested in having like couples counseling to learn about ways that the partner could help support U. This person who wrote
to you while they're going through depression. Obviously they should also consider getting treatment. Usually people who do suffer from depression, they you know, it's it's best to get into some sort of therapy or take medication rather than to how to deal with it alone. Yeah, and actually push people away who could be more supportive. I'm sorry. Yeah, No,
it's about depression because a lot of people say they're depressed. Yeah, but I think it's almost I don't want to say it's a fad, but it's an easy thing to say, I'm depressed. Well, what is a state of depression where people should really get help? Because people be sad and they like, I'm depressed, I'm depressed, but they throw that
word around so loosely. Yeah, exactly. So, Um, in terms of depression, there's a clinical form that we look at when we're diagnosing, and so a person does have to feel quote like depressed for at least two weeks, but it's usually a number of other symptoms they're experiencing. They may have changes with their appetite, not sleeping as well or sleeping too much. They may feel fatigued. Some people
even have difficulty with concentrating. Lack of sex will kind of drive also feeling hopeless, and for some they begin to fill suicidal. So when I'm diagnosing someone with depression, I'm looking at a number of things beyond simply them saying I feel depressed, right, I'm looking for some signs and symptoms if they're always a root to depression. Sometimes I get my funks and I really don't know why, and I'd be like writing down in my journal it's funks.
I'll be writing down in my journal, like you know why what happened today? Like, and I can't never get to the root of why I'm just depressed. Well, I mean, some people believe there is so people who study psychoanalytic theory believe that depression is at the root anger turned internally. So instead of turning anger out into the world, you may turn it in on yourself. So that's kind of
how that illness comes about. But for some people there is not, Like an actual trigger can be biological, meaning like things that are happening within the brain. Some of
it's genetic. So I think if you are in that moment feeling sad, going back to the point of just throwing the word depressed, it may not be in fact that you're like actually depressed, but maybe you have a reason to feel a little down that that is going You're right, and this goes sound crazy, like say somebody does something to you, right, and you want to physically hurt them, like what or physically get them hurt, but you know you can't do that, So that can cause
you to internally be mad at yourself as what you're saying, because you can't really do what you want to that present. So I don't necessarily think that would lead one to feel depressed when I'm when I'm talking about touched, Okay, I've been thinking about that. You want to kill people, you want to I just result to that sometimes like I do. I'm not gonna lie I can't when I can't get that done because I know better, I get depressed.
I don't necessarily think those two go together. Okay, Um, but what I do think is it needs more help something not on that level, Like, I think a lot of people struggle with challenges at work. I kind of use that all the time in an example, So if someone is feeling like, you know, they can't get through to their boss, they're not necessarily feeling as successful as
they should be at work. Instead of learning ways to become more assertive or to engage with their boss so that they can get the outcome they want, they may start to feel depressed. Right, and so that anger that would be directed not as violent towards like a boss or the workplace. You turn it in and just you become less active, less kind of assertive in your approach, but not I don't really think that we're thinking about people trying to kill folks. I don't. I don't think
that's so he is. He is, obviously, But back to the question I would ask you. The reason I wanted to ask you that question in particular, was how do people deal with someone who around them, someone they love, who's dealing with depression? How is it? How can you see the signs of that? And if they want to
be left alone, what are you supposed to do? Some of the signs that I think people can recognize as obviously, if a person is saying that they've felt really sad or depressed and it's been continuous for a couple of weeks, But if you notice that they're withdrawing from activities that they normally do, Like for example, if this couple typically goes out on dates or they have friends over all the time, and that person, while they're depressed, is less
interested in that. Maybe they're staying in bed eating a bunch of junk food that they normally don't. If you're just seeing changes in their behavior, obviously, if they say I don't want to live, I want to kill myself, that isn't a huge indicator that there is a problem. So I think just paying attention to the way that the person is interacting is a good sign, you know, to kind of give you an indication that something's wrong, and then you know, you really have to know the
person to understand what helps them. For some people, spending a little time alone can be helpful. But what we talk a lot about within mental health is behavioral activation and almost doing the opposite of what you feel like you want to do when you're depressed. Right, I want to be around anyone I want to be alone. Actually, that will make you feel worse, So you should do more like schedule that that date that maybe you don't
want to have. So I think the best way that a person can support them is obviously don't become their you know, sort like the who they start to like direct their anger towards. But just try to keep them motivated. But also you can't pour from an empty cup. So if there comes a point when they're maybe taking their anger out on you, you may have to give them some space and really encourage them to get in treatment. All right, we got more with doctor Jess when we
come back. Matter of fact, we'll take your calls eight hundred five A five one oh five one. Doctor Jesse here if you have a question for her. Calling now is the Breakfast Club. Good morning, I think everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy we are the Breakfast Club. Doctor Jesse is in the building that we're taking your calls. Eight hundred five A five one oh five one. Hello, who's this? No pressure, doctor Jessa Isaiah,
Good morning, sir, Good morning, how you doing. Everybody's great? Doctor Jesse's here. You have a question for doctor Jess, Hey, doctor Jess, how are you doing good? Thank you? How
are you? I'm well? So my question for you, doctor Jeff me, being a twenty three year old, mental health isn't necessarily something that me and my friend's stuff about, not at all, actually, So I guess I'm just wondering how would you go about bringing that up without necessarily look, you know, looking like I don't know, kind of lane,
we're just getting laugh at I guess, but I'm looking crazy, Yeah, exactly. Yeah, So I guess what I'm hearing you say is just how do you start these conversations about are you taking care of yourself? Are you taking care of your your all mental health? Well? Yeah, because I mean, like I know, mental health runs in my family, like my mom suffered from depression, my grandmother, etc. So like, how do I make sure my guys just feel like? How you bring
that up without looking crazy like va? So I mean already I'm thinking like if if these people are your friends, right, I imagine that you guys do things together that make you all feel supported. So I don't know if that's having dinner or going out for drinks. I think use a casual environment where you guys are already feeling bonded, just to kind of start to share. I don't think that you necessarily have to pour out all of the details of your family, but you can just check in.
Maybe it's sharing with them that you know someone in your family has been suffering in silence and you would want to just know what they're doing to keep themselves feeling well. But I think the fact that you guys already are bonded and have a friendship, you should not be so afraid about sounding crazy like those are your boys. You should be able to talk about things openly and freely. Anyways. Also,
lead by example. Lead by example. Once you start going to therapy and people start seeing how it's helping you and your boys would be like, dang, I want to I want to get on that too. Word they're going to kind of look at me and that kind of yeah, you know what, I do. Appreciate that information today, guy, appreciate that. All right, man? Thank you, man? All I have a goal. Hello. Who's this? Hey? How you you know? This is Brandon some southern California. How are you? What's up? Brandon?
What's your question for doctor Jess? Okay, Miss Jess quick question. So, as anxiety is something that overlong to different people's lives, is there's something in the cognitive process that stops people from overcoming that or having them be more overwhelmed by it. Because there's a lot of people who know they have anxiety and then know what they can do to overcome it, but it still gets to them. So I was just
curious if there's something that is stopping it. Okay, So I'm going to try to answer that just in terms of thinking about like the way that the brain is wired. So the amygdala is a part of your brain that is responsible for fear, and so the thought is that anxiety is really kind of more active if you have the area of the brain the amygdala is like firing
a little bit more in certain situations. So I guess to your point about, is there some people who can overcome it a little bit more easily than others answers Yes, But I think what's important to know about anxiety is that you know it's treatable. You can take care of that by going to therapy, medication. Also engaging in things like meditation and yoga are a way to kind of help soothe you. If you are a person who has a lot of activity in the amygdala, the part of
the brain that is responsible for like fear. Do that answer your question? It answers perfectly. Think you so much. Stret time for thank you? Hello? Who's this? We're cooking, doctor Jesse? You cooking? Bro? John? Hey? John? What's your question for doctor Jess? Now? Yeah? My question is sometimes I go to bed and I wake up depressed. What causes that? That's my question? Yes, yeah, what do you work?
What do I work? We need more information? Right, so you're telling me you go to sleep and you wake up depressed. I'm curious about Is that something that happens every night? Is there an event thing? No, No, it's every now and then once in a while, you know what I mean. Depressed but just sat for no reason, you know, And I can't find the cause of that sadness. I feel your brother. He might not have a girlfriend,
he might be lonely. You might hate your job and be like, damn, I gotta go in there again today. Well my work both ways, I wake up extremely depressed sometime and extremely happy sometime and don't know why either oil is happening. Oh, maybe you had a dream. And the dream was sad. Well, they are definitely are people who believe that your dream can kind of begin to inform the way that you feel in the morning. Um, I would say, you know, this is probably a great
case to consider talking to someone in therapy. I really can't answer that question as to why you wake up feeling depressed, but those are the types of questions I could be explored if you find that you also have you know, if this is happening often, or if there are other things that you're you're recognizing that are you know,
kind of off for you. Do you remember your dreams? No? No, no, dream Like I sleep and I wake up and I just feel sad and side because that happens to me sometimes, but only if I have Like sometimes I have a sad dream, like a funeral, and then I'll wake up and be really sad, but I know it's later on I'd think, oh, it's my dream, because sometimes I'll remember later on that I had a dream, and I'd be like, oh,
that's why I thought that way this morning. Absolutely. The trick I've learned is not to go to bed with any baggage from the day, Like right down, what you're grateful for before you go to bed, what you're thankful for, and like I like the I don't like the resocial media. If I go to bed, I like to read a book or something. I read my positive affirmation card. Just go to bed peaceful. Absolutely, you shake it off quickly or is it like the whole day is saying he's
going and now he's sad again. He's sad again? Okay, so you would recommend him to do what doctor jess for the sadness? He needs more information? Yeah, I mean there's there's so much more information I'd want to know. I'd want to know obviously, how he's doing in terms of functioning. I'd want to know is he like what we were asking about work? And he kind of went silent on that too, Right, So who's his support network? I mean I heard he as an accident. Is he
calling from somewhere you know in the States? Says he have supports around in the family. I mean there's a lot more like as a as a psychiatrist, you know, people don't just come in with like I wake up sad without me like I don't just give an answer. I have to really go through and understand more of that. But I love what you guys are both saying about recognizing the impact dreams may have on the way you
feel or what you've taken in that night. I mean, I think people need to also realize these things will most of the time pass unless it's something that's consistent. We got more with Doctor Jess when we come back and taking more of your calls. Don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Doctor Jess
is in the building and we're taking your calls. Eight hundred five A five, one oh five one Teresa, all right, how are you? Good morning Teresa? Who are you calling from? Okay? What's your question for Doctor Jess? I have a question in regard to add emails blackmail? What are some ways that you can help them other than medication? When you say in blackmails, are you referring to like a child,
teenagers in high school? Um? You know. I guess my question back is what's your reservation about medication for ADHD um? More so that I just don't want that to be the first method of treatment without trying other options first and you know, I just don't want my child become relying on medicine if he doesn't have to. So ADHD is actually an illness that you know, a diagnosis however you want to call it, but that responds very well
to medication. And you know, I'm hearing you say that you would like to think of other ways to manage that without trying medication. But generally people respond very well to it, and it's something that before they know it, whatever challenges they were having in school or at work really begin to resolve because now they can actually concentrate and focus. You know, there are options that are not stimulant medication, so I know that's the one that people
are very worried about. Stimulants are like brittling or adderall they have like street value, and you know people can abuse them. But there are other medications that treat ADHD that are not stimulants and ideally are not medications at are as you know, addictive. But that's really where I would recommend. Can I tie in on it? Yeah? Yeah, just because we had the juice bar and I know for a lot of case they say their diet also
affects ADHD, and a lot of sugar. Yeah, so sometimes it does how people to change their diet absolutely, so you can try those things. I think if someone by the time they're seeing me, they're having a lot of issues. Right by the time someone comes in front of a psychiatrist, you know, they may be like experiencing problems with school, like they're not doing well in their classes, their grades are suffering. But I think if someone is not to
that point, things like diet. People in the summer will sometimes come off of their medication because they don't need to focus as much, so maybe they're engaging in activities that are a little bit more physical. You know, you can try to do things like get them a tutor if you find that that's a part of the challenge
that they're not able to focus on their work. But you know, in my experience, I've found that trying a medication usually that's when the person responds very well, and then you know, my job is really kind of done at that point. All right, well, thank you, mama. How do you know what medication to put them all for ADHD? Yeah, there's generally kind of like an algorithm that you start
with certain medications. If someone like it sounds like this, mother, it doesn't want her child to be on a stimulant. You start with a medication that isn't and just see how they respond to it. It's medication the last resort, you would say, before trying other things. For me, No, for for me again, as a psychiatrist, we really want to Therapy is something I talk a lot about and
is a part of my training. But medication is something that can be very helpful because there are side effects I'm sure yes there are for stimulants which are used to treat ADHD. So like riddling adderall, typically what we look for are like loss of appetite. For some people, they can, you know, experience kind of like shakiness. Jina's take adderall now just to lose weight, I do. I've heard people abusing that I want to go to one more. Call this a lady. She's pregnant, Ay, Stacy, ask your
question for doctor Jess. Doctor. I've just recently found out I was pregnant and I suffered from anxiety real bad. So I started smoking weed because she told me to go off my anxiety medication. Now she wants me to go off the marijuana. What can I do to help with my anxiety. Oh that's a good question, doctor. Now she's you can't can she do? They might have a baby crane though, we don't know. Do you any time of meditation or anything, because that Jess has been talking
about the benefits of meditation. I'm in therapy. I do good. It's just I don't have control. I don't know how to explain it. My daddy, Like, I don't know how to say. It's like, oh't no, like my mom be like go like it's be like my mom. Yeah, you sound anxious now. Yeah, So you know, I would encourage you to go back to your doctor and talk to them about what you're experiencing in terms of your symptoms. Um because smoking marijuana or cigarettes anything like that is
you know, not good for baby or you. I'm not sure where you're from if they have reproductive psychiatrists, and so I'll tell you. So that is the type of psychiatrists to specializes in caring for women who are considering becoming pregnant, who are pregnant, who are postpartum, who are just kind of in that window where they may have exposed to medication while carrying a baby or fetus. So that doctor specializes in prescribing medication or monitoring you during
the pregnancy because you're anxious. I wonder if you also may be experiencing depressed mood, because those can go hand in hand, and so you want to just good, good, good. So I'm happy to hear that, but I do it. Do you exercise and like do yoga exercise? I do a lot of because I'm in a medical field, so I do a lot of stuff to keep my body in shape, and I eat healthy and I live a good life. It's just an anxiety. I don't have control
up the anxiety. That's why I'm recommending that you find a reproductive psychiatrist because a lot of psychiatrists are fraid to prescribe medication while a woman is pregnant, and that's, you know, because of liability and also just not necessarily feeling experienced in that. I'm not a reproductive psychiatrist, but there definitely are some out there who that's what they do.
They can safely prescribe medication for you and safely monitor you during pregnancy and really kind of counsel you through that. Thank you, and that's what I needed. Another sly, Josh, doctor, you can't take anxiety medication when you're pregnant, so you can you can. So again, I'm not a reproductive psychiatrist, but that is a part of the training that I have to be exposed to that. And so a reproductive psychiatrist knows the ends and outs of what medications are safe.
We understand, they understand, you know, the effects that it could have on a fetus. They understand what the risk are having untreated anxiety or depression. So it actually is safe to take most medications for anxiety during pregnancy. But you want to have that doctor that's counseling you and walking you know, you through it. Well, thank you, doctor fell answering those people's questions. We appreciate you. Now, how can people reach you if they need you? Let's ask
doctor Jess on Instagram and on Twitter. I'm not taking new patients right now, but I will probably in June or July, but you can always just reach me in those spaces and look out for my community talks that I'll do. I'll have one in February. I'm excited. I have a really cool guest for that. Thank you, doctor Jeff, Thank you doctor Jess. All Right, it's the Breakfast Club. So I guess he was trying to get some information. He posted, what's Don's baby the mom name? And somebody said, oh, I don't know. He said, OMG, I need it. I'm in the studio with Lanes, please listen. I love it all as hip hop, just don't resort to violence. And I love that Tory fields this way like calling everybody
else feeling like he's the best. I love it, but we're not gonna act like that new hairline didn't give him a whole new level of comfan. He got some more color. Tory Lanes also ran on his Instagram live and said that he was going to out wrap all of Dreamville Records artists because he wants to get to Jay Coole. By the way, happy belated to Jay Coole. I saw he was at Brooklyn chop House yesterday celebrating
his birthday. Shout out to y Yes all right, so he said, the only thing I'm gonna say about the dream Ville situation is this, I'll take the whole dream Ville out by myself. And if I do that, then you got to give me cole. He said, I'll take Jed everybody all right? Like what he's doing. JA has response, he's calling him out and he's he's spitting boss. Yeah

Jed responded on social media, l l I went out toward Tory Lanes in twenty sixteen when he just started losing his hair twenty eighteen to send where got his hair back and start losing his mind? We sold out Santa Anna tonight, pull up, ask me if you can tour, And Tory Lane's responded, l you know you my little brother, So I'm not gonna dish you, but let's go on the song and bar route and let the people decide who ripped it harder and who
has better bars, flows, et cetera. You can be first, but then again, if you want to take the other route, we can do that too. Go ahead and roll the dice. Ji responded, Brian, know what time I'm on. You're trying. You're just trying to get to Colt. So this really had nothing to do with me. But you said you'll mark the squad, cease and desist, and it went from there. He's right, though, Ji is right. Tory wasn't talking that spicy when his headline was stopping. That's all you got
out of listening. And I'm gonna let y'all know right now, any rapper out there, never mind, we got some angles of Tori's whole head in the studio. Tory was here. Just by the way, all right, shout a bikey? Yes, who are giving that downket you? It's a Florida man again, Another Florida, he said, Just gonna leave Farid alone on the try. I don't go looking for stories from Florida's stories from Florida. Come looking for me. We'll talk about

Make sure you're tell him to watch out for Florida. The craziest people in America come from the Bronx in all of Florida. Yes, you are a donkey, a Florida man a chapter and ATM for a very strange reason. It gave him too much money. Florida man is arrestipe after definitely say he rigged the door to his home and an attempt to
electrocate his pregnant wife. Police arrested in Orlando man for talking a Flaminia to Breakfast club bitchy donkey. Other day, Charlom Haint the gun. What y'all keep letting him get? Y'all don't get a day for Tuesday, January twenty ninth, Oprah and Harriet Tubbin's born day dropped one a clues bomb for those two queens. Okay, it goes to a Florida man whose name has not been released, but honestly, his name isn't important. All you need to know is
that he's from Florida. What did your uncle Sharla always say the craziest people of America come from the Bronx and all the Florida. I don't come in here every day to find stories about people in Florida. Stories about people in Florida find me. Now, I have a question for the room and a question for all our listeners out there. I'm going to ask you a question, and I want to give you a second to think about. What would you do if this happened to you? Okay,
what would you do? Listen? What would you do if you found a grenade? Stop? Think about it? Angelie Ye, what would you do if you found a grenade? Run waffle colored waters and dj enview? What would you do if you found a grenade? Run a grenade? I don't care. I'm with you. Okay, it's a grenade. I don't care how sexy Bruno Mars made catching the grenade sound. Nobody really wants those problems, except for this unidentified man from Florida,
because he found a grenade. See, he was using a magnet to search water for salvage items and this man pulled up a World War two hand grenade. I'm dead ass serious. It was verified by local police as a World War two hand grenade. Now, oh, he got some money the internet. I don't know if he got paid for it, but I you know, I know I've been fishing, and you know, all my fishermen out there who've been fishing.
That sounds like a catching release to me. All Right, you pull a grenade out of the water, you might want to throw that back, but you don't want to do that because it's a grenade. It's dangerous. Someone get hurt, including yourself. So the smart thing to do would be to call nine one one right right, yes, absolutely, right then and there. But keep in mind, this is Florida. What does a Florida man do after they find a grenade? Let's go to CNN for the report. Police Florida man
who went magnet fishing over the weekend. He was looking for salvage items. He reeled in a World War two hand grenade. He tossed it in his truck, drove to the local Taco Bell, and then called the police. The bomb's god had to come to remove the device, and the restaurant was evacuated. John. The grenade was then taken away safely, and the Taco bell, we're happy to report has read one word for your hair, Florida. Now, I haven't had Taco Bell in years, but I remember the
bubble guts it gave me quite well. Okay, it's a number of combos from taco bell that assisted in the hershey squirts, all right, That that Nacho bell Grande combo number five with a soft taco would have you peeing out your ass, and that, okay, that Burrito Supreme combo number one with a soft taco will make you feel like you're anus is pro lapsing, all right, And that damn case of Delia combo with a soft taco will give you the heney goop soup quick. All right, this
is given me glass right now. It's that heiney goop sup them moral of the stories. Only a Florida man would turn blowing up a taco bell into literally almost blowing up a taco bell. Okay, A bomb third of the taco bell should not be an actual bomb thread. A bomb thread of the taco bell should be because you had to run in the bathroom and release a little trouser chili because you decided to have the three crunchy combo. I think that's a number eight, if I'm
not mistaken. Not. This man didn't commit a crime. He didn't get arrested, and he shouldn't the only thing he did was put a bunch of people in danger by bringing a whole grenade into a taco bell. No big deal. It's Florida, and only in Florida. With a man find a grenade, actually throw it in his truck, go to a taco bell, and then casually call the police and
tell him he got a grenade in his truck. If you don't think this is stupid and don't see how this could have been a total disaster, then you're probably from the Bronx our Florida. Please give this Florida man who almost blew up a taco bell literally the sweet signs to the Hamletones. Oh no you are dogee, Oh the da do gee, oh the day? Ye all right that taco bella. Have you squirted like a country goose? Yeah you heard that. That's the crunch rap Supreme Combo
number nine with a soft tale. Okay, all right, now have I let one fly ahead, y'all we're gonna have to clear this room. You probably have to change your draws too. I don't fight in my clothes, so you know that would never be man just doing nigga. I don't fight in my clothes. All right, Well, thank you for that dunk yere to day. Yes, Now when we come back, let's talk about something that happened this morning.
During Tell Again, during Get It Off Your Chest, a young man called and he said this, let's play right fast. Is Black prayers wrong for raising their kids to be racist against other racists who are racist to us black people. I don't think you're raising your kids to be racist. I just think you're telling your kids the reality of the world, and you let them make their own decisions. Can't you say I'm not a racist and be like, well, I don't want my daughter to come home to, you know,
bring a white guy home. Yes, that might be a little racist. That's all right. Let's open up the phone lines. Eight hundred five A five one oh five one. Are you being racist if you if you want your child to only bring home their race, you just want us to his people office? That is the question? Eight hundred five A five one five one. Because I'm an asked right if our white cameraman said I don't want my daughter dating a black person, just I want him to
bring home just a white person, is that racist? What's his reasoning though? Is his reasoning just a matter of preference or is his reasoning matter? No matter what the reasoning is, you just make a preference on somebody just based on their skin exactly. I think preference is different than prejudice. Now, now, would you mind if your white daughter bought a black person home? If you actually mind just because they're black, then that's probably prejudice. But I
don't think it's I think it's just pude. So if I say I don't want my daughter to bring home up any other race other than black, that's kind of a white guy with a white guy. She did, Okay, I want I would love for my daughter to day of black. I just wanted my daughter to be happy. I didn't, so you didn't have any Do you have a preference when it comes to your daughter? My preferences are being happy. That as my preference. I don't care whoever treats my daughter with respect. It's kind Yea treats
it like the queen that she is. But that's all I care about me too. But I would like for that person to be black, and preferably not a nigga. I want black like a difference in value. If you need to know the difference, I played the Chris Rock clip for you, all right, all right, so let me ask you so now, now you want a certain kind of black. Yes, you're this guy right here. Don't be asking me questions if you don't want to ask you a question, because I want the true Okay. Eight hundred
five A five one on five one. Are you being racist if you want your child to only date their own race? Meaning no, if you you don't want them to date if you're black, you don't want them to bring home a white guy, or if you're white, you don't want them to bring home a black guy. I can't wait to talk about that, and he wouldn't be here if that. I can't wait to talk about that. We will do that when family five A five one on five one. Shout the poppy too. It's a breakfast club.
Good morning, mmy, the breakfast club morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy. We are the breakfast club. We're taking your calls with asking eight hundred five A five one on five one. Are you being racist if you want your child to date their own race? No? Ye, what do you think I think that I wouldn't want to teach kids to only date your own race, just because I know how harmful that was for me as
a child. When my parents got married and having to deal with people having a lot of different things to say. So I think in your head if there's something that you went and I think it's important to instill pride in your kids so that they're like, proud to be black. But at the same time, I wouldn't want it to express to them like, listen, you only can bring home, you know, another black person or another whatever race you are.
I think that's a harmful thing to instill in kids, because I know growing up it was always awkward for me. I said, I'm not gonna lie. I mean, what do I think it would be easier for my children if they brought home somebody that looked like them, understand the culture, understand what's going on. It's a different feeling to sitting next to someone like you that another black person watching Black Panther you feel good. I mean, it's just a difference.
But what I mind? What I care? No, I don't care, I honestly don't. I just want somebody that's gonna treat my daughter the way that she needs to be treated. And I'm with y'all, But once again, I think it's a difference between prejudice in preference, and when people ask me why I feel that way, I will simply say because the African family structure has been dismantled in America. I think I read a stat one time and said almost seventy percent of black children are born to single mothers.
So the black family structure has been ruined since the days of slavery, and now you got mass incarceration. So I love seeing blackness together. I love seeing black husbands with black wives raising black kids. I think that's a beautiful thing. I love seeing love. I love seeing people together. I just don't want people that felt awkward kids to feel awkward bringing somebody home and feel like they disappointed their parents or anything like that. Hello, who's this from Jersey?
And what's up? Man? We're asking are you being racist if you want your child to only date their own race? Bro? Yep, I feel like you my kids. I'm black. My baby mom is for the weekend, so my kids is volati, you know what I'm saying. I get with Charlton Mains saying because he's team Black all day like and his mom Blacks can't do no wrong. But I think that's not true. That's how you come off though, you come off like blacks kids do low wrong, even your eyes.
You just team black black black black black being team black. Y'all are crazy? Y'all are some self hating this boy act like blacks don't do no wrong? No I do. You can't do. No you do, Bro, you do? But my kids have my kids? Is black Importer Weekend? There's nothing wrong with that? Who said it is? That's the way you come off. No, it's not. Y'all not listening. Hello, who's this? Hey? Hey y'all, morning, morning, Hey mama. We're asking are you being racist if you want your child
to date their own race? No? I don't think they're being racist at all. If you if you just like white people want their grand babies to look like them and they want this and that we should be able to feel the same way without you know what I'm saying, Like, without anybody doing any type of ways. I don't think there's nothing wrong with or in you know, your kids to be with somebody who looks like you, so y'all can have grand babies and keep the generation going and
y'all all look the same. I don't see nothing wrong with that. So if your kids did I read your book. I read your book, Charlottagne. I loved it, thank you baby? Which one one? Okay? Loved it like that? Which which I can? I ask you a question. If your kids went to school and there was a white kid and the white kid was like, my parents only want me to um date somebody white, so I can't even date you ever? Would you feel weird about that or would
you be like, it's happened to me before. It's happened to me before, like you didn't think it was whack? I mean yeah, but now that I'm older, like now that I'm an adult, like that's in high school. I'm from Florida. Y'all gonna start, y'all gonna giving us too much? Okay, so I'm from Florida. Now see I have a problem with my daughter. Didn't anybody from Florida? I'm telling you
that right now? All right? But no, um, you know these kids here, like even in high school, like they'll you know, they help your friends with you, they help you all in your face, you know, playing oh this is my little this my girlfriend, you know, stuff like that. But it was literally like one time I was working in the mall when I was in high school, and it was the same white kid. We was like the best of friends while we were in school and he came to my job I was working in the full
court at the TAFL. Bell was just so happy and like he didn't even know me, and my films were so hurt. I think that's so whack it, but it is what it is. That's life. That's just how people are, especially with kids. Man, that kids play with who they want to love, who they want to love, like you know, let them do that without judgment. Here's the thing, y'all keep talking about what parents don't want their kids to do. If you don't want your child to date someone because
of their race, that's prejudice. Not once if I said that I don't care if my daughter dates someone of another race, but I have a preference. It's a difference between preference and prejudice, so huge difference. And people have their opinions on base off what you said. Yeah, but once again, to me, it's all about the black family struction.
And if you know anything about the black family struction in America, and you've seen how America has systemically dismanted it from slavery, the mask and conseration, you would love seeing black families together too, So I don't know what to tell y'all. Y'all mad at me because I love seeing a black man with a black woman and having black kids. I think that's a beautiful black ass thing. What does mad at you? Yeah, nobody's mad at all.
We got rumors on the way. Oh, and salute to the guy who called up here yesterday and complained about me. He called last week too, But I just want you to know your complaint was heard. He complained because he was upset that I said that black panther doesn't need white validation from the oscars. Shout out to you, white man. Shout out to you, missed the white man. Your complaint was heard. He was really mad. Yes, he was very pissed off. I love listening to those. That's hilarious to
me when he was very upset. So salute to you. So I know this conversation that they really pissed him, clearly grinded. We got rumors on the way. Yes, let's talk about a horror movie that a NBA star is going to be actually starring in based on his own experience. All Right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked this to Breakfast Club. Good morning, the breakfast Club, larning everybody's god. We are the breakfast Club. Good morning to you.
All right, let's continue, she was, let's talk to her Lanes. It's about so this is the rumor report, Angela, yee, it's fun. The breakfast Club. Well, we've been telling you about this back and forth between Don Que and Tory Lanes started with Don Que doing a this song about Tory Lanes regarding the freestyle that they had back and forth. I'm that joiner. Tory Lanes then responded with Don Queen, here's a little snippet of that. I showed you in
love and hatred and I gonna throw back. He tempted me, but never had this energy for Kodak. You play dream Doll for feature to get them beself, and somehow you think you went up with me the first night I've seen dream Doll. I'll up there for free. And now you walk around like somehow you got one up on me. Looking please, it's your brother part this wicking found Soldier Boy Gucci had been and worn in this cover on whip Battle with a Boogie Shadow, Whole Battle with a
Boogie Shadow. Okay, well, now, don Que has already snapped back, and he has a song out called this is Your King. Here's a snippet of that for you. Took you three days. I needed to clean out baby mama name ring right. I know you've seen Kowler to play with your nose is taking the two because from the arowers up to look eighty years old, your face the hold down. I had to go and dig in the creek drink. Who
can I run two with his head? Y'all thinking he's gonna fully escape carry you can sing along, say your cheerleaders bring it on if they but used to pay you by the way to come and clean a little, to have a glaze cons Robinson man would sound like a bunch of scholars and nick not just pit. Tell me when you ate him drinking to swallow because you hold this sound like five of years to put some
respect on Tory Lane's new headline. Don que he tell that man from the eyebrows up, he look eighty years old. That's why I keep a fresh baldy right there. And y'all gonna for me to fly this off Africa and get this headline trans ye little three day statue right here. Your body don't look so fresh. That's because they gave me the sherman him to leave Georgie. And I don't know why they did that because I definitely don't have that. I don't have that. I just have a receding hairline.
All r right now, Kyrie Irvan is daring and horror movie that's inspired by his own experiences planning. He was staying at the Scurvin Hotel in Oklahoma City that in open back in nineteen eleven, and the rumor is that there's a lot of paranormal activity there. But the hotel still has a lot of NBA traveling teams come to visit, come to stay there when they have games. He said. Having had my own interesting experience at the Scurvin Hotel, I connected with this idea immediately. So it should be
interesting to watch. You know, I'm gonna see that. That's cute, Kyrie. But I'll tell you one thing you played at inspience if you want to if you ain't really see nothing, don't act like you saw something for profit, because they will show up on that ass. Well. The reason it happened is because of what he saw. I hope he really saw something. That's all I'm saying, all right, Titia Campbell Martin is accusing Dueye Martin of physical abuse. Now. She says that he flew into a violent rage just
as recently as a last month. She's filed the restraining order against him. He has to stay at least one hundred yards away from her right now. It's a temporary restraining order. She said she can no longer live in fear of retaliation. The need to press criminal charges for his ax overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public. Through the report. She said that he once punched her in the chest with a closed fist and that he grabbed her by her arm to try to
get her in the bedroom. And she says she filed the police report in January about multiple alleged physical altercation. That sucks, man. I really enjoyed him as a couple. My wife and I kicked with them in La once at the at their restaurant. Man, that was a great, great La night. Well, you never know what goes on behind the scenes, all right. Jeanie May she was on the rail and talked about whether or not she has
a relationship with Jeez. After that picture surface where it looked like they were on a triple date with ot Genesis and Trey Songs. And here's what she said. Look, you guys know that I'm multi dating, right and Jeez and I hang out and he's very special to me, So we don't really have a label to define what it is we're doing. We're just having a good time together. You. Oh, okay, geez, all right, she's multi dating. She's not in a relationship. She just got out of her marriage, so she's dating
multiple people. She's checking the scene. Jennie was named Jenny, Mine got the new Jeezy. The old Jess would have been using her to smuggle bricks out here in each creets stuff. All right. Now, let's talk about this Leaving Neverland documentary that's going to be on HBO. Was at the Sundance Film Festival, and there's a lot going on right here. Michael Jackson's family has released a statement condemning
the film. Michael always turned the other cheek, and we have always turned the other cheek when people have gone after members of our family. That is the Jackson way. But we can't just stand by while this public lynching goes on. And the vulture tweeters and others who never met Michael go after him. So the people that are featured in this claimed by James safe Chuck and Wade Robson that Michael Jackson sexually abused them over a period
of several years when they were kids. Now, both of them had defended Michael Jackson against other allegations of child abuse, but later on they filed suits of their own against his estate with abuse allegations of their own. Back in twenty thirteen and twenty fourteen, James safe Chuck was in the Pepsi commercial with him, by the way, and so there's a lot of back and forth. According to the family, they said the film takes uncorroborated allegations that happened twenty
years ago, supposedly, and treat them as fact. These claims where the basis of lawsuits filed by these two admitted liars, which were ultimately dismissed by a judge. So we'll see what happens. But there's been a lot of people talking about the tweets that went out from people who actually saw the film at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is whacked. I don't want the film is unethical. First of all, those two guys played under oath that nothing happened,
So why would we listen to him? Now? This isn't perjury or crime. Aren't they committing perjury by doing this documentary? And this documentary is all for profit. They aren't doing this for any other reason. They don't care about facts. They care about entertainment period. Like why why would you take the word of two people who have purged him to purge himself in a man perjury? Man is dead, he can't he can't refute it or rebute these anything. It's just critic who attended it to four Hour by
the way leaving Neverland. They said the film was devastating, and so I don't know, would you watch it? It's been I think I think it's another girl. I can't believe HBO about that. I mean, first of all, I can't believe somebody made it. But then I can't believe HPO. This is unethical, this is perjury. These two people are committing a crime. That's what they are doing right now, all right? I mean that's so why would I listen to them? Now? Man? You take their word? Now? Why
are we putting this out there? All right? Revote Settlemorrow. Everybody else to People's Choice mixes up. Next, let's go, let me know what you want to hear.
